Well, Demonstrey, I can't believe it, man. You've been here for, I don't know, I'd say 425 of the 500 episodes, maybe more. Yeah. You took a summer off when you moved L.A. You took this summer off as well. Yeah, it's 30 episodes. But you've been there for most of it. I've been here for 496 of the 500 episodes. It's Thai Butler and Damon Bruce filled in for me, you know, a few weeks ago. But we're here. We didn't time this out to where it's like, oh, if we do this schedule, the 500th episode will be the first football show of the year. It just was a happy accident.

6:06Wow. That's stunning. That's stunning. Let me tell you real quick where you get to game. Why that stunning? That great job blew down. Getting that done. Appreciate the chiefs. So here's the here is a sneaky thing that really loyal and die hard listeners know this story. But I haven't told it in forever. I'll be very quick here to get the football game from last night. I have not talked to Andy Reed in any long form since I've been on the TV show. Like the I you know, I'm pretty open about the relationships I have with the chiefs. You guys know I have a relationship with Patrick. I have a relationship with Brett Beach. Andy and I you know, you've seen each other shook hands. You know, I may be hugged and wants it a parade, but he and I haven't really spoken and in part, it's because I was always very worried. Andy Reed didn't like me because of a snafu involving Jamal Charles being inducted into the port Arthur Hall of Fame.

7:08When they asked me 10 years ago to emcee what they said was the roast of Jamal Charles as he got into the Hall of Fame. I am see it. I do 10 solid cutting minutes making fun of everyone up to an including comparing Andy Reed's game, man clock management skills to my college sex life. He did not find it funny at all. And then in the following 90 minutes, clearly no one else got the memo that it was a roast. They thought it was a toast and it was just 90 minutes of people saying nice things about everyone. And I opened it up with just with just 10 minutes of mediocre mean comedy. And I haven't I haven't spoken Andy since then that's unbelievable. I mean, that really is unbelievable. It's a great job by the blue dot crew. Listen, I know there are some chiefs fans right now that are some of the most, I would

8:14say cynical. What have you done for me lately? I've never seen a group of folks I've ever seen on the internet who are kind of over this regime and Andy Reed here because they had a bad final they they were bad last year. I absent of that nice little shout out by Andy. I am not one of those people will see how this year goes, but that was really cool. So there's episode 500 and now we have the defending Super Bowl champs, the defending AFC champs, a Super Bowl rematch that somehow maybe went worse for the Patriots than the Super Bowl. Let's get into it. So yeah, I gave him was rough. Darnell and down in the first drive, you got a J. Brown. He went down Drake May through three interceptions. Seahawks still find a found a way to get it done. Who do you think should be more worried or panic this morning? New England fans with Drake May or Seahawks fans with Sam Darnell's injury? Okay. Say one thing before you start though. Why? On earth? This game was so bad and the Super Bowl.

9:14It was like a really bad game and we thought we should make this the first game of the season in the next year and if it's I feel like it panned out to be the same exact thing the last game of the season. Well, listen, I it was it's two marquee teams when you look at Seattle's home schedule. There were only a few real options for who that game was going to be, right? So they weren't I didn't think they were going to put Seahawks Rams as the first game of the year. I thought they might save it. So take that one off the board. Seahawks Niners, Seahawks Chargers, Seahawks, what's there's another home game? Giant doesn't really have the star quality. So your other home game possibilities were Seahawks Patriots, Seahawks Cowboys, Seahawks Bears and Seahawks Chiefs. Those are home Seahawks games.

10:15When they set the schedule, they don't know if my homes is going to be healthy. So you can't have the chiefs on your standalone Wednesday night game without my homes out there. So he's out. You don't have to cowboy Seahawks, Cowboys, every Cowboys game is such a big ratings draw anyway. You don't need to almost burn the opening game of the year. I thought that was out. So it was really to me, it came down to Seahawks Bears or Seahawks Patriots. I thought they'd go Seahawks Bears, you know, kind of a big Caleb thing plus the defending champs. The NFL decided let's give the Patriots a chance to get some get back. It was a huge, risk, huge reward moment for New England. You go out and win that game. That might all of a sudden just cure your Super Bowl hangover. It might just be like, you know, what? We're better. We're a different team. You do all those things. The flip side is you lose the game and you're like, oh man, they're just better than us. You lose the game the way they lost it.

11:17And that's a tough one to recover from. So listen, the darn old piece of it is pretty, pretty simple. If he did not break his hip and they seem to be confident he did not, he should be back at some point. And if he's back, they should be okay. So like we can we'll do more on the Seahawks and I don't, you know, love starting with the losing team because it feels negative rather than starting with the winners, especially when the defending champs you win with your backup quarterback. But the story of that game yesterday is unequivocally undeniably the absolute meltdown by Drake May. They had the ball three times in the fourth quarter. All three possessions, he threw a different type of outrageous interception.

12:21Up tends to three in the fourth quarter in control of the game. On second and nine on the plus side of the field throws a bomb down the deep sideline that it wasn't easily picked because it was tipped by one caught by the other, the other. But it was into double coverage. You have control of the game. You're up a touchdown. For one first down away from being up double digits in the fourth quarter against true lock, you give the Seahawks life with that Seattle. Then comes back scores their only touchdown of the game on a gutsy. Don't let it be forgotten in the details of the game play call. Fourth down, which was a pretty obvious go for its situation was fourth and one, but fourth

13:21the one with a backup quarterback, you call a pass. Have him drop back. JSN cooks the highest paid corner in the history of the NFL and then scampers to the end zone. All right, tie game. We got a ball game now. Very next possession. Drake main throws not a carbon copy, but a very similar interception to the one he threw in the Super Bowl where he just didn't read where the safeties were. The one in the Super Bowl. When Collinsworth says, I don't know what to tell you there. I, you know, if you remember, he had, I think his exact what was, I got nothing for you there, Mike, because he didn't know why Drake may did it. Is he received in? Yeah, I feel like his receiver fell down a little early on that one. I feel like he could have made a play on the ball. Romeo Dobbs had an abomination of a game and we'll get more on him in a moment.

14:27He's the guy they were throwing to there. You're right. He, he, he seemed to stumble a bit, but it was a risky throw. It was a risky throw that didn't need to be made and he clearly thought the safety wasn't going to be there. It was had Dobbs not falling down and it was a slightly better throw. It would have just been potentially a hospital ball for Dobbs. And so now all of a sudden Seattle gets the ball back. They go and get a field goal. Next possession Drake makes some plays. Drake all of a sudden has a fourth down run. They have a fourth and nine, a nice little completion over the middle of the field. And now you find yourself Seattle's got no timeouts. You have the ball inside the 20 with one time out in your pocket. It's third and five. If something easy and obvious is there, you take it.

15:31If not, you can, you know, try to pick it up with your legs because you have the time out. You also obviously can just throw it out the back of the end zone. Instead he throws a fade away jump shot to the front corner of the end zone and kills them. Good night. Good luck. You are about to have pulled it out of the fire. Be 13, 13 going into overtime with Drew Locke. Throw on him in a bit, standing on the other across the other side of the field from you. Great chance to not get a win. You feel amazing about but start 1-0. Arguably it's the single toughest game on your schedule. Kind of steal it without playing your best ball. Keep it moving. And Drake May and this is the concern piece.

16:31Continued a very alarming trend of now five games in a row granted all five against very good defenses of awful ball. Not mediocre, not, you know, subpar that's five games in a row of wildly damaging football from Drake May. And you guys know I'm a Drake May believer. But the playoff run and how he looked against good competition and how frazzled he looked and the fact that there, you know, do people not realize I do the pod every every Thursday. My agent called me your sister called me the Drake May how frazzled he looked repeatedly

17:34against these types of defenses in the playoffs starting off the season like that. Alarm bells ring a little bit last year in the regular season. Okay. Drake May 4400 yards in 17 games. That's 258 yards per game. A 113 rating 31 passing touchdowns to eight interceptions did get sacked a lot but was you were able to sustain it added four more rushing touchdowns last year. Drake May in the five games since the end of the last regular season. One touchdown one pick and 87 rating to go along with one fumble lost his team scored

18:3516 points against the chargers. His best playoff game three touchdown passes against that dominant Texans defense. Even in that game less than 180 yards passing less than 60% completions one pick four fumbles to fumbles lost the AFC championship game in the snow against Denver 86 yards passing. The Super Bowl stone nothing until the game was decided in the fourth quarter when he added 224th quarter yards going into the fourth quarter less than 75 yards passing finish the game with two picks and another fumble lost and now this game yesterday a 55 pass rating one touchdown three interceptions and if you're the Patriots,

19:40Damanze you are very lucky this game was not far more lopsided. Think about the things the four penalties that drastically changed how this game looked. Please flicker to AJ Brown. He's wide open. Drake May throws one of his worst passes of the night under throws him so much it turns into that vintage under thrown deep ball pass interference. That's what set up the Patriots first and only touchdown. They scored one other time in the game a field goal. What happened on that drive? They're punting. The punter. There's three points there. Seattle on the other hand once true lot got going touchdown Cooper cop. Nope illegal shift that seven becomes three later in the game on the field goal that gave

20:43them the lead. They have a third and one. Inside the 10 they fall start turns into a third and six they end up settling for a field goal. That's four separate errors by Seattle that New England didn't like earn so to speak that either led to New England points or took potentially more points off the board for the see ox. This could have been really ugly. I'm missing key pieces and obviously the edge of luck in the game. So well that's the other piece of it man. The Patriots treated drew lock as if he were Jared Stittum and the game plan from the AFC championship game was going to work.

21:44And the thing about that is it might have if Drake may didn't go full meltdown though. They got super conservative and it seemed like the sea ox trusted drew lock more than the Patriots trusted Drake may. And maybe it was because the sea ox had no choice because they were trailing. Lock at one point was 15 of 18. He finishes 16 of 22 a buck 87 eight and a half yards per attempt one touchdown no turnovers or near turnovers would have been a second touchdown as well by the way. If not for that illegal shift that I mentioned and a one 13 rated like we just went over the Drake may numbers. And so what whatever questions to Monday people had about how good were the Patriots

22:45really. Those are now going to pop up even more. And there are and this is one thing I flagged last year during the year that I do think warrants mentioning because it was all of Drake may passes were on passes deep down the field. Drake made a start last year was on an all time. How do I see my own Twitter likes? Gosh darn it. I have to update the app. I got to figure this out because I this is how I favorite things and now I can't even find them son of a gun. I'm thinking and don't king. No, it's not that. Let me find the exact Scott Casimir had the exact stats. But it's something I had been talking about before which is Drake may's deep ball heater and whether or not it was sustainable. So let me find it real quick.

23:46Okay, here it is. Last year Drake may started the season. 13 of 17 on passes of 20 plus yards down the field. He was unstoppable on bombs. It was what unlocked so much of his amazing stats. I mean set more than 75% completion percentage on deep passes. Since the midway point of last year he is 17 of 54 on those same passes 31 and a half percent. Last night he was over four with three picks on those deep passes. Well, might be over four with two picks because I think the second pick, you know, I'm not sure exactly how many air yards one of the picks was regardless.

24:48He was old for four on him last night. That's a concern. Another concern for New England, Demons, and I don't even get annoyed with me on this. I am never surprised when older players get hurt. People can say oh and we'll get to Donald in a minute. But listen, AJ Brown, that's unlucky. He's sprained his ankle. It was unlucky and it's a high ankle sprain, which is usually six weeks like AJ Brown on the shelf for six weeks. And you can say his age is not why he's sprained his ankle. I don't know that. I know that as guys get older, they're a built like their body's ability. His age isn't why he got tackled and he's, you know, and fell that way. But do I think that a 23 year old athlete is more likely to have that not result in a high

25:50ankle sprain than a 29 year old athlete? I do. And I think there's a lot of, you know, there's a million LeBron stories of young LeBron. You know, spraining his ankle, tightening his shoe lessons and just keep playing. Now that might be an unfair comp. But they're too big offensive acquisitions of the off season. AJ Brown Romeo dobs AJ, I don't think we'll see him again until mid October at the earliest. We'll see. Romeo dobs was a catastrophe. When they were, they, they, they, they signed him to four years, 68 million dollars. That's 17 million a year. You know, I've never loved that whole crew of Green Bay receivers. I thought they all were a touch overstated. They paid him like he's a legit number two.

26:51He could not get on the field when they were an 11 personnel, which is the exact, like that 11 personnel means you have five offensive linemen, one quarterback. So there's six guys. One running back, one tight in the 11 is one running back, one tight in. 11 personnel means you have three receivers out there. He wasn't one of them for big portions of the game until AJ Brown went out. He was, you know, not featured at all. And then once AJ Brown went out and I'm trying to find the snap counts from the game and they went to him. It went disastrously. He ended up with, let me find it exactly. I know he had zero for zero. Three targets, zero catches, zero yards. One of the targets turned into a pick. One of them was one of Drake made better plays on something in long and dobs just dropped

27:54it. One of the biggest plays of the game, just a flat drop. The Patriots traded away. K Shambu, to the Texans three weeks ago. Because K Shambu, yeah. And Bravel said, you know, listen, he would have been inactive for us on game day. Yep. Well, not it's AJ Brown's out a month. Like that Patriots offense looked slow. The offensive line was marginally better, but not marginally much better than it was in the Super Bowl. But it also was the penalties on Will Campbell were a killer. That is a garish loss given the fact that the opposing team starting quarterback went out to two throws into the season. Any way to wipe them go into this away week two. It's Pittsburgh.

28:54Can you erase that in any way or I mean, I you're going to hear. Patriots first month of the year of which I am very confident. AJ Brown's not going to play home for the Steelers at Jacksonville, excellent defense at the bills. One of your biggest games of the year. Staring a team that went 14 and three last year is staring down the barrel of a one and three start and Drake May's confidence. No, I'm not saying he threw eight interceptions in 17 games last year. He has thrown six interceptions in his last five games. And that's not even to mention the how many fumbles does he have total in those games? Seven.

29:54Now, those aren't all lost, obviously. But whatever level of confidence he was at. Oh, and I'm wrong. It's not six interceptions. He is. After last season, he had eight picks in his last five games. He has seven picks and seven fumbles. And has been sacked 24 times. I'd be very worried if I were New England, very worried. Where does McDonald rank amongst top NFL coaches here?

36:06If somebody wanted to say he's the best coach in the NFL, you've got to at least listen to him. I think about before he was a head coach, what the Ravens defense looked like his last year there. And then what it looked like the very next year when he left with mostly the same personnel. Right. Think about the transformation of Seattle's defense from a defense. Nobody thinks about to what is just now considered the best defense in the NFL with respect to the Texans and Domingo Ryan. Think about the fact that Josh McDaniel considered one of the best, most veteran offensive minds in the league had two weeks to get ready for McDonald's defense in the Super Bowl and got his pants pulled down and then had an off season to get ready for Mike McDonald's defense

37:12and the regular season opener and they mustered 10 points. The, you know, his, I didn't watch hard knocks. It seems like he was pretty impressive on that. They did it yesterday. They had lost in the off season a safety, Rick Wolland, Nicki Manwari, who's the second most, you could argue the second most important person on that defense behind Devin Willarsmoon was out injured. Didn't matter. Getting guys off the street, getting picks. So he was, I mean, he is outstanding and has been proving it weekend, week out. The big news on Seattle is, of course, we're still waiting. And if we get it during the show, I doubt we will. It's, they're on the West Coast, but the news on Darnal, but the big news is Darnal

38:13D's injury. So let's discuss that for a bit. Yeah. So if he's out long term, are you writing Seattle off completely? And if he's able to come back later in the season or do you think they'll be good enough to stay afloat with the injury? So listen, I drew locks at Kansas City, kid. You played for Denver for some years. I've never really believed in him. There's a cool video of him like wrapping along to young, the sideline that people left. He looked really good yesterday. There's no doubt about that. If we were to find out Sam Darnal's done for the year, then I think Seattle needs to instantly start making calls about quarterbacks. The obvious call they would make, and this would worry the hell out of me, is to Jimmy Garoppolo because their offensive coordinator has history with him.

39:14So that would be an obvious one. The next, the less obvious, but a call that I would make would be the Kurt Cousins. Kurt Cousins who I think could be had for a price. The James Winston who just signed a new deal. I would call about him, but I wouldn't love it. Some people have brought up Justin Fields with the chiefs. I wouldn't love that if I were them. I think I'd rather roll with through locked in fields, but like, so if Darnal's out for the year, that just, you know, that ends them. That you would try to make do. It does not seem like he is going to be out for the year. And do I think they can stay afloat? If Darnal's out six weeks, okay? Their next two games are at Cardinals at commanders.

40:16I do not care who their quarterback is for those games. Those two offensive lines and those two offensive systems are drawing close to dead against this Mike McDonald defense. So that's three and a home chargers, home diners at Broncos. And then you have 10 days between the Thursday night Broncos game and a home game against the chiefs. Let's say Darnal's out the next five weeks. They easily demands a can be foreign to easily. And I got to see what like I think true lock to do it. I just got a game inch. So that's deep. Here is my question. And this is why week one can be a liar. And it's hard. We don't know why we're seeing what we're saying. Drew like obviously was excellent yesterday.

41:20But is it also possible that this Patriot's defense is not that good. It's certainly possible. Whenever we talked about the Patriot schedule last year, we talked about Drake May's stats in relation to it. The other piece of the Patriot schedule last year was the quarterbacks they faced were outrageous. And well, so last season, I think we did this on last week's pod, but I'll do it quickly. I'm going to tell you the teams they played and think about who's playing quarterback. Um, Geno week one in the Raiders and they lost the game Miami week two to a Rogers week three and they lost the game. Nice week four. Josh Allen's awesome week five, Spencer Ratler week six, cam ward week seven, whoever was a Dylan Gabriel week eight.

42:22I don't even know who was starting for Atlanta in week nine. I think it was panics Baker week, Danny's good. Jets was that Justin fields last year for the Jets week 11. Joe burrow week 12 really good. Jackson Dart week 13, Josh Allen week 15 and Josh, they scored 35 Josh Allen beat them. Lamar week 16 really good. And then Jets dolphins again. So all of last year, you played Lamar Josh twice, Joe burrow Baker. And that's the full list of good quarterbacks in the regular season. Then in the post season, you played play off Justin Herbert. No good. DJ strailed over strong with him Jared sent him and then darn well, obviously this year quarterbacks they face Rogers Trevor Lawrence. I'm not going to I'm only going to say the good quarterbacks they face Rogers may be good

43:23probably not Trevor Lawrence Josh Allen Caleb Williams, Jordan love Jared golf, Justin Herbert in the regular season. Josh Allen again Kyler who I'm not high on, but other people are Patrick Mahol. Holmes, Bo Nick, who you can evaluate on your own. You go from five games last year against good quarterbacks to five games this year against bad quarterbacks. Plus Harold Landry is how out plus Caleb on chase on is gone. Do you have a reliable pass rush like the reason I know we're supposed to know about Seattle here. Pointing that out is I if I'm Seattle, I am very I'm over the moon with how drew lock handled himself, but I also just don't know that you know art did he do that against a defense that's going to finish the year ranked 17th or a defense that's going to finish

44:25the year ranked seventh. I lean that maybe more likely 17th in which case you'd be a little more nervous when you do have you know the chargers and weak for the Broncos and weak six and some tough defenses. But we've just got to wait and see on Arnold. But we know I mean I'm kind of putting a lot of stock in to this chapter tweet which was really Mike McDonald quote when the hold on. Seahawks had coach Mike McDonald said the team got quote great news on Sam Darnell and the doctors do not believe his hip is fractured man a fractured hip the brutal. I mean that's what kind of changed the whole trajectory of two of his career back in college. And Brady Henderson on ESPN.com.

45:26The sea ox might have to continue their title defense with Sam Darnell temporarily sideline. Even just that first sentence makes you if your sea ox fan feel good. The fact that you're saying you might just have to lose him temporarily. Darnell down in the opening possession we know that coach Mike McDonald said Darnell's hip is not broken. But he said he hasn't know the extent of the quarterback's injury and that it's too early to tell whether he'll be able to play in sea ox September 20th game against the Cardinals. He was taken to Harvard View Medical Center in Seattle for a CT scan. The initial test was encouraging but inconclusive. So McDonald said at this point we were able to rule out a fracture. So there's some more tests to be done. We're still working through all that but right now I think fracture is out which is great news. So that is all. Oh, I don't know that. I'm not willing to say that. But I am willing to say it appears they avoided catastrophe.

46:29And that's a huge win for them. It's a huge win to be able to get one win in the bank when you might be missing your quarterback. They look great. And the Patriots have real, real concern and I don't know that they have a replacement for AJ Brown. I'd be very worried about all of that. All right. Let's talk about the game tonight. Yeah, we talked Ram. Ram's Niner's a little bit on Tuesday. We talked about the travel, not the actual game. But the Niner's have dealt with a bunch of injuries during the offseason and scandals. And obviously the Rams have got a bunch of new shining new toys in Aaron Donald and Miles Garrett. Who do you think is in bigger need to make a statement in this week one game? I don't think the Rams need to make a statement. And I do think that if the ramp because here's the thing because the Monday of how they've done the travel thing and because Aaron Donald is not there and because Miles Garrett

47:33had missed time in practice, if the Rams look bad, they have so much talent. I think people will just be like, okay, the way they did the travel to Australia was dumb. Don't do that again. And they'll chalk it up to that right or wrong. You know what I mean? I think and you know, listen, I am high-ish on the Rams. I am not as high as the rest of the world on the Rams. And they're opening five weeks tonight in Australia against the Niners home for the Giants and then at Broncos at Eagles home for bills. I think it could be somewhat tough sledding early on for them. But if Matt Stafford is healthy, if they're left-acquil, Ellara Jackson is healthy and unsuspended and if Pukas non-suspended, that offense is going to be good to great. And the defense would be stunning if they don't have one of the more dominant past rushes

48:36in the league. Like this team should be really good no matter what. The Niners are in a different boat entirely in that I have huge questions about so many parts of the Niners. None more so then. Are they going to have an outright bad defense? They lost Robert Salah. Nikki Bosa who is indispensable for them is coming off another major injury. He's expect, you know, he's got no injury designation, but it's his first game back. We'll see how he looks. Starting alongside Nikki Bosa is Dre Greenlaw, former ob, former Niner who popped as a kill. He's in the Super Bowl, went to Denver, Denver just flat cut him this off season. He starts for the Niners. Starting for the Niners is he on white on the edge.

49:40The Patriots gave him away for a sixth round pick, gave him in a seventh away for a sixth round pick. He starts for them. Last year were relying on at detacled Alfred Collins popped his patella tendon. It's very sadly two days ago. He's out. I don't like their secondary. It's a new coordinator. I am when these teams played last year, the Rams just manhandled them up front. That's a real concern. So even if party is good, CMC who they used so much last year, even if he is healthy and available, your receivers are Debo Samuel whose best days are behind him, Mike Evans, one of the oldest receivers in the league, and a second round rookie that they like a lot, but everyone thought they reached on drafting him at the top of the second round

50:44to Sean Striblin. I just have huge question marks about the Niners. With that said, I'm not, I wouldn't be surprised if they win tonight. I just think them being there for the full week, Shanah with a week to prepare the Rams, they get earned out, but then he's not playing Miles Garrett missing some time in training camp. Well, he'd be 100% like, it's not one of our picks because our pick show is tomorrow, but the Niners plus three and a half would be the side I'm on, but I have big questions and concerns about San Francisco, um, this year. All right, let's do some follow ups here. Um, yeah, if things keep going south, could you see a, uh, Christian, a coffee, a Christian, a coffee treat? Oh, if things do go south, I, no, I could not. And I've got to see that they might, I mean,

51:45that's a very, I didn't even thought about that. Um, I think because of, yeah, the way is contract is structured, I, um, I don't really think I know I just think the dead money on because of how they've done it. I, I, I think Christian, that, that's not what's really on my radar. Um, what, what's more on my radar is Miles Garrett. Yeah, I think that what I'm interested in for the, for this game is Miles, they were very cagey about the Miles Garrett injuries. This, they just kept saying it like lower body soreness was missing time because we saw Stafford miss so much time in last year's camp. Nobody cared. He's Miles Garrett's come off 23 sacks. It's a little concern. Not major concerning a little concerning.

52:46But if he's fully healthy, Demons, it is absolutely on the board, absolutely on the board, that he breaks his own sack record. He never, like, the fact that playing with the Rams instead of the Browns. Yes, they were playing with a lead. Yeah. It's just the teams. He, he played in so few obvious passing situations teams up to scores late. You just tee off on the opposing quarterback. Yeah. And you know, I think, I think Aaron Donald is going to be a slow, slow build. It doesn't surprise me at all. He's not playing in this game. I don't know if he will or won't play in week two. But either way, I think for the first month or so, he's going to be a situational pass rusher part time-ish player. Um, but by midway through the year, if Donald is anything close to the old Aaron Donald, like they are just going to have such a dominant pass rush. And I think Miles, who is one of the 10 greatest

53:54defensive players of all time, I think that's fair to say. My, you know, has a real shot at the back-to-back defensive player of the year awards has a real shot at another 20 season. Like that is, and so that is something I'm interested to watch him up against Trent Williams in this game tonight. Keep him in Tampa through 2029 and he is now the third highest paid quarterback in the league. Do you think that the bucks made the right move or was this an overpay? Listen, he's not the third best quarterback in football. We understand that. But here are the guys that make on average 55 million a year. Josh Allen, Joe Borough, the Prince, Jordan Love, Baker Stafford. Here are the guys that make 53 million a year, golf party. You know,

59:07that it is the 50 million dollar a year club is 13 names deep. Baker is obviously closer to 13 than he is to one on that list. But it, you know, in an exactly perfect, you know, is the right salary for Baker may feel instead of 3165. Is it 3155? Yeah, probably. But more importantly, this is for Todd balls for the bucks organization, a maker break season. They have been, you know, the best team in the worst division and Baker plays well in the playoffs. So there are dangerous team, but they haven't, they haven't had the year or anything close to the year yet that I thought they were going to have last year. When I picked them to go to the Super Bowl, when they started the year off, just playing great.

1:00:10And Baker was briefly the MVP favorite and the bucks looked outstanding. The bucks were one of the one teams to beat the Seahawks last year. You know, they, they start the year off last year, five and one, they get to six and two before the wheels just totally fall off. Baker got banged up. Baker stopped playing well. Ameca Buka, one of the witness protection program. I think they can be an 11 win team this year. I think they can be a, not, I wouldn't consider them, you know, a front end contender. But I would consider them a, clearly the best team in that division and kind of a B list NFC contender. That's where I would find them. I don't think they were going to be able to have a quality season if they disrespected

1:01:11their quarterback the way it was looking like they were going to and not give them a contract. So I think it's worth a 10% potential overpay in order to just have the vibes reset Baker all in. You know, there's no uncertainty there. And he's just your guy. He's earned that. He was very good. Three years ago. He was very good two years ago. Last year, he was even better until he got really banged up and then he played really poorly. And for Baker, he initially signed with them. Demons a for one year, four million bucks and was in a pseudo quarterback competition with Kyle Trask to turn that into two separate real contracts with them is really outstanding. And I'm super happy for him. And you know, you look at our golden silver medalists for most dysfunctional franchises in the NFL, the Browns and the Jets bad ownership,

1:02:16bad history. And you look at the Browns who are just drawing dead this season because they don't have a quarterback. And the guy they took first overall who got him to the playoffs his second year. And one of them a playoff game. Or his third year secondary, I think it was second year. That they moved on from now being on his second contract in Tampa and right on the fringes of a top 10 quarterback. And you look at the Jets who are running it back with one of their previous draft picks, but not their previous draft pick, who's the defending Super Bowl champion coming off back to back 4,000 yard 14 win seasons. Like those franchises are who they are for a reason. And so I'm super happy for Baker. And I feel better about my bucks to win the NFC South pick. Speaking of picks, the bucks could feature prominently in tomorrow's week one NFL pick show.
