There he goes, I don't want to do that.
Wait, do I get all these things as kids?
All right, come on guys, stay on track here.
This is Wisdom from the War Drove.
Brought to you by Michael Bruce Image Consulting.
Good morning everybody.
Oh, good afternoon.
Good evening.
Whenever you listen into this,
we started the show off on a trucker
because Becky's doing things off.
I'm sorry, but I'm old and I have to take shoulders
and so I have this thing called a therapy.
You like, it's like a hook and you kind of use it
to like listen your voice.
So that's how we started the show before we even went on air.
So, well, well, Bruce controls himself over here.
Let me just introduce everybody.
You're listening to Wisdom from the War Drove,
the fabulous weekly style show with the style divas.
First up, we have Bruce, who it is on right is a diva.
Say hello.
The boys in the house.
What's happening right here?
Sensational Stacy.
Hey, today's episode is brought to you by the color orange
and the shape circle.
Beautiful back.
Yeah, which by the way, my husband set up a user dating
for me once, it's born to be 80.
So, you know, me and my hurricane.
This is totally on brand for me.
Oh, my goodness.
Don't forget about Lady P, the biggest diva of them all.
I am not a diva.
Oh, okay.
Wow.
The diva works with you long enough to know that, you know,
you take that back.
All right, I'm taking it back.
I meant it as a compliment.
Okay.
If we're divas, then like, you're the best.
Okay.
All right.
I appreciate that.
And of course, we can't forget our ever-ready engineer Eric.
Do you want to be a diva, Eric?
That sounds like I'm not all right.
Good answer.
Good answer.
I love it.
All right.
Let's kick things off.
You know, it's Monday's Mayhem back.
What do you have for in the news?
We're not brought to you by the shape circle.
We are brought to you by the shape oval because today, gang,
we're going to talk about the potato shoe theory.
Oh, no.
This is like a legit thing, you know, think about what a potato looks
like a hearty russet, nice and brown and round with its side
sort of swelling a little bit.
And then think about an ugg slipper or a Boston clog.
Basically, think about all the shoes that are out in the world
that sort of look like a potato.
Like you're putting your foot in a potato.
Think about some of the, you know, the Nike sandal things
that you see on people.
There's a lot of brown, swayed,
avoid footwear that's out there right now.
And it's actually a new thing.
And it's, you know, there's a longstanding tradition of potato
like shoes to address like health and comfort.
You know, this has been going on for a long time.
And it's pretty funny as, you know,
headlines rise and fall and toe shapes go from pointy to potato
shape. So, you know, I'm here to let you guys know that it's
okay to wear things that look like potatoes on your feet
because you would be totally on trend right now.
I'm going to say no.
This feels weird.
This reminds me of the episode and I love Lucy where they
got literal potato sacks.
It turns them into dresses.
Oh, yes.
Yes.
You know, you know, when your name starts with pee and you start
wearing potato shoes, it's like, oh, there goes potato.
No, no, no, no.
And I do sometimes say, you know, my head looks a bit like a potato.
So, you know, this is just not, not something I want to get into.
Sorry, back.
Well, if I put on interesting, I mean,
it's, it's not just things like Bergenstock, like they're talking
about the Nike Air Mox.
They're talking about, you know, some of the, like some of the
other things that, you know, like the old Kanye, some of the
easies, which we don't wear anymore, but, you know, there's,
there's actually quite a lot out there.
So crock.
Can I be a crock is essentially a colorful potato shoe?
Can I be potato inspired and like wear skis?
So they're pointy and long.
Like it's like a French fry.
Well, that's a different, that's a different potato.
Oh, yeah, different kind of potato.
We need a potato when it's raw form.
Oh, we're going back to the natural and natural potato.
Okay.
Don't I always say just Monday mayhem and you never know what
you're going to get?
Thanks for that.
Potato shoes.
Well, I really wanted to make Bruce's head explode.
Definitely.
Well, that's exactly what you did between the Born to be 80, which
by the way, one year for Christmas, I searched and searched
and searched for a t-shirt or sweatshirt that says Born to be
80.
And now I really also have been sent several times things that say,
you know, Born to be wild until 9 p.m.
Yeah.
I have to stick around my water bottle.
So yeah, I did find a cup that said that, which I'm like,
I kind of want to be 80.
We have to get it one to be dazzled for you.
I love it.
I'm all in for that.
There you go.
Let's do it.
Let's do it.
So what are we actually talking about?
Absolutely.
I'm good with this direction.
Okay.
Well, I have a slightly different direction for us.
So today, I thought it'd be fun to do something a little
bit different.
I guess we're kind of keeping it on Bex's old theme, you know.
But it's not my people.
Yeah, I know.
But what I mean by that is instead of diving into new topics,
I thought it'd be really good to take a look back at the show itself.
So wisdom from the wardrobe.
You know, we've had lots of conversations about trends and debates
and what's new in the moment.
And this has been going on for 244 episodes.
So memorable, right?
Do we have that much to talk about?
When we first started this, we said, do we have enough to talk about?
I know.
Well, here.
So, you know, I was curious.
When we started this show back in 2019, did any of you imagine we would
still be doing this all these years later?
I mean, that's seven years we've been doing this, people.
No.
No, we can still talk about nothing.
I know we have the gift.
There was a very famous TV show about nothing.
Does anyone know what that TV show was?
Yeah, same felt.
A show about nothing.
That's kind of like us then.
A bunch of nonsense.
Right.
All right.
So let's start at the beginning.
So when we first launched the show, what did you think this was going to be?
Bruce, let's start with you.
What did you think was going to happen?
What did you think we were going to be doing?
I mean, it was a little nugget of an idea.
It was.
And I brought it to you and you said, let's do it.
Let's do it.
Oh, what have I done?
I don't want to calculate how much we've spent on the show.
So I'm going to just keep moving on from that part of it.
My gosh.
You're such a dad.
I thought it would be a good show just to kind of get together and give people some education
and connect a little bit.
I actually thought it was going to be an hour, which I thought that's a long time to be
talking on the.
Yeah.
That's too much of us.
Yeah.
Well, yeah.
I mean, when we first started, we would record four episodes in one on foul sweep three
or four.
And they were like 45 minutes.
Yeah.
I remember what the first one was called and I'm going to, I'm going to let everybody
know.
Stacey came up with the first bunch of titles.
It was today's episode is brought to you by A B and the color orange.
Orange.
That was our initial ones where we talked about the ABCs of style.
Yeah.
It's kind of like a style seminar on air is how it kind of started.
Yeah.
Number two was no more wire hangers.
Oh, I remember that episode.
I was company.
That was our company.
Why?
And then the next one.
I love this one that Stacey came up with a Kennedy and a Kardashian walk into a closet
with a K.
Oh, my gosh.
Goes on.
The things.
And you didn't listen to those.
They're still out there in the world.
They are.
They are.
Absolutely.
But yes.
Wherever you listen to your favorite podcast.
I know.
Right.
I used to have to say that.
And now they're everywhere.
Yeah.
So Bruce, you just thought it would be a, you know, this thing that we did for a little while,
right?
So did you think when we first started this?
I know.
I regret.
We might not meander as much as we do now.
Yeah.
Because we're old.
All right.
So.
I personally like that.
We don't have to like stick to a script.
I like that.
As stuff comes up, we can address it or veer off in other directions.
I like that about us.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I do like the authenticity of it.
Because when you meet us in person, you're going to have the same experience generally.
And I like the fact that we were trying to give information that is approachable.
And my thing was I was like, I could do this for hours.
What I did like is when we talked about what our theme kind of would be, kind of our
tag.
I thought that was cool.
Serious about style.
Not so serious about ourself.
Not so serious talk.
I thought that.
Well, anybody that's listened to the show for a while.
That's it rings true, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
All right.
So out of the 244 episodes, there must be a few really good standouts for you guys.
Even if you can't remember the entire show, but, you know, one that was really good.
Or maybe something that was really chaotic.
I mean, let's be honest, there has been a lot of chaos on this show.
For some reason, one that sticks out to me is the one that got me in the most trouble.
Okay.
Spill.
What were you called me an old shoe?
A potato shoe.
Oh, my God.
You were a potato shoe.
Right.
Right.
It was time.
When I didn't mean it like that.
Stacey.
You know what?
Well, it was actually not the, it was a, I think we were talking about trends.
It was where Stacey on air said choking the chicken.
Oh, I know.
That was hilarious.
Did not know what that meant.
You're just saying it.
I didn't.
I'm like, are we going to need to bleep that out?
Eric's looking really uncomfortable over in the corner here.
How about you ladies?
Well, I think for me, it's not necessarily a particular episode.
It's the way we've approached it.
You know, like we used to do them sort of prerecorded.
And now we do them live.
And so it's kind of changed the way that we work a little bit.
So it's not one particular thing.
I actually prefer the life, I think, is more what I, you know, my take on it.
Is I like doing it?
Doing the live stuff as opposed to the prepare stuff?
Because I think off the cuff, we're funnier.
We're more entertaining.
Well, we think we're funny.
Anyways.
Well, yeah, that's a good point.
Maybe we're not.
But Stacey, do you have one?
I don't have, I mean, look.
Anytime I have an opportunity to talk about boob sweat is open for me.
And you have to make June and July.
Exactly.
Because June and July are busting out all over her.
And let's be honest, we have had a couple of shows dedicated just to that.
Oh my.
I remember that one I wasn't here.
And you guys, I heard, I heard you I was actually in Hawaii.
And I was listening to a podcast.
And I listened to the radio.
So I'm like, they are literally talking about boob sweat.
And I'm so glad I'm not there.
Yeah.
Well, I do, I do our Stacey talks for the people.
And I'm sorry, but there's half the people have to do with it.
So I think that it's a thing.
So I mean, I love when we talk about accessories.
I love when we talk about encouraging people to be creative.
I love when we keep it honest and we demystify or we demystify.
Yeah.
Some of the things that surround style, fashion and trend.
Yeah.
Some of my favorite episodes are when we critique and talk about the trends.
I just love the trend episodes.
We're like, uh, and is this one hate Stacey?
This season.
Well, along that same line, my favorite in the news is our after award show.
Would we can sort of?
Oh, yeah.
When you have opinions back.
Yeah.
All right.
How we love your opinions.
Well, and the number of seasons that have hated me out of the past seven years.
I'll have to like, we'll have to do a count to see how many seasons hated me
versus how many seasons like me.
Well, there's been a lot of fringe lately, Stacey.
So that like on that note, Stacey, right?
Because we've had lots of debates and we share.
We're open and honest about what we like and what we don't like.
I'm curious.
What trends have we covered that you've either absolutely loved?
Or one that you're still not convinced by.
I mean, for Beck, it's going to be French feathers.
Yeah.
A very little bit of fringe I could live with, but it's not that, you know, yeah.
Right.
You stay see, because you always say that spring summer hates you.
So, you know, it says there been something that you thought I absolutely adore that.
Oh, anytime that we're talking about color, I absolutely adore it.
Anytime that we are talking about skin showing, all I can think about is June and July.
And my muffin top spilling over.
Like somebody filled the muffin cups too much and it's spilling over.
And so those are the things that I love to hate.
But they make for good content.
And really isn't that the important thing?
I also have to say sometimes we just need the top of it.
Oh, yeah, it's the best part.
It's crunchy, it's explosive.
It's where the muffin breaks free of the pan.
It doesn't do anything.
That's a million dollar idea right there.
Yes, yes, this is why we love Eric.
Eric, that was perfect.
I have to admit that you guys, I just had a panic thinking,
I have something playing on my phone.
Can you guys hear that?
It's just me in my headphones.
Like, did I do something?
I had a moment of that, too.
And I'm looking at Eric and he's just smirking.
And that's where muffin tops came from.
Absolutely.
Show about nothing.
Oh, my God, I love you full that in there.
Do you know the now make pans that are just the muffin top shape?
You don't have to worry about the muffin stump.
It's just the flat bit of the muffin.
No, I do not.
Oh, geez.
That exists.
Oh, my gosh.
So that means that if you cut me vertically like that,
you could have, it's like, I'm like a tree stump.
You can have it all.
So my favorite episode is when we talk about color for the season.
And then Stacy says statement.
The metapause made.
I was like, I hate these colors.
These are metapause may have.
I just think that that statement is just funny.
It's like, yeah.
I'm wearing an acacia today, you guys.
Yeah, I see that.
See?
He listened to the show.
I did.
He knows what the spring summer trends are.
Doesn't hate me.
Well.
All right.
Whatever.
Oh, wait.
Is it cashmere?
Like, actually, it's not.
It looks like cotton.
It is.
It's cotton.
I have an idea for people like if you want to reminisce,
if you want to play a drinking game, go back and listen to episodes
and see how many times Bruce mentions cashmere.
They would be very drunk.
Yeah, they would.
Or how many times Beck has been away.
Hey, I'm here now.
I'm talking about traveling.
How many times panelist says, OK, guys, let's reel it in.
Let's reel it in.
Yeah.
I don't do that a lot.
Do I?
Yeah.
No.
Which is funny because our intro has Stacey saying that,
come on, guys.
Oh, guys.
That hasn't happened for a while.
All right.
So after all of the conversations we've had about clothes and trends and wardrobes,
what do you think is the biggest thing that this show has taught us about personal style?
What do you think is us or our listeners?
What do you think?
To be authentic to yourself.
Don't just follow trends, do what you feel good in and what does not make you fidget.
I knew it was coming.
I knew the fidget was on the way.
You know, it's coming.
No, I love that, Beck.
You couldn't have said it any clearer.
The authenticity portion of this is just like, you know, you hear all the time.
Well, I'd like to look like this or I would like to kind of emulate what I'm seeing on social media.
But that authentic part of it, I think that's a message that we've kind of actually hammered home,
but a little bit that that's been a consistent from, you know, all throughout 244 episodes, I would say.
Absolutely.
Hey, Eric, how about you?
What have you learned or noticed it?
Oh, yeah.
This would be a good one.
You know, I never gave any thought in my life to like the pantone colors being like a thing for clothing trends.
Right.
I don't tell this show.
And now it's funny.
It's something I can start to spot.
And I've always enjoyed your guys' take on it.
I mean, it's a lot of them are ugly colors.
Who were, who was picking these?
But you guys aren't afraid to call that out, which is very funny.
There you go.
Absolutely.
That's great.
Stacy, do you have one?
Let me think.
I like the fact that if you were to go back and listen to the show in the beginning, that we are actually putting our money where our mouth is, all of our styles, like who we are, like Beck has been talking about not fidgeting forever.
And Pamela has always like been on her style has always been to include some piece of like the trend.
And she's always been curious about what's out there and and unafraid to take the risk to bring it in.
Bruce has been, no, Bruce has been like bougie from the get go.
And so like the show has really shown that our style, while it may has stayed consistent, it also has evolved over time.
And all of us have really demonstrated that.
And so we truly, if you listen to the show from the beginning, we are living what it is we're encouraging the people that listen and the people that are our clients to do.
Absolutely.
I would have to say that the thing that I'll say for all of you guys, been very surprised and pleasantly surprised how everyone has come into their own in our show.
Everyone has brought.
Where did they?
At the beginning.
Oh, I was afraid.
Like what's going to be the voices like, you know, Pamela, please speak.
You know, say something.
You know, she wanted to be quiet.
I'm like, you got it.
We need you.
We need that texture.
I love when we decided that we're going to have an in the news, you know, to Beck, you know, with her wonderful commentary has always been really good.
And just how I think that the team has actually come together.
And always been authentic.
You guys have not been afraid to talk about some challenging things, even with yourselves.
And what you're going through.
And I think that resonates really well with our audience.
It's been really great.
So with that being said, let's take a quick break.
We will be right back with wisdom from the wardrobe.
After.
Not.
Bruce did an outro.
Stop it.
Do you feel challenged by the thought of getting ready every day?
Want to make a great first impression?
But don't feel your wardrobe represents who you really are.
Does the thought of trying to find great clothing that fits your body and lifestyle?
Have you overwhelmed?

Hey, we're back.
You're listening to wisdom from the wardrobe with the Michael Bruce styling team.
That's right.
You are enjoying the live ruminations of the team.
You've got Bruce and you've got Pamela and Beck and Stacey not to mention Eric.
And we are having a fun time tripping down memory lane and our two highest to let oh heels.
I mean, no.
I'm sorry.
I can hear you that.
Becky used to wear heels.
You know shoes.
Yeah.
Like a block heel.
Like a block heel.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Anyway.
That's that's kind of what we're doing.
We're having a good time like looking back to when it all began.
Absolutely.
And how we are 200 and what did you say Pamela?
244.
244 episodes eight seasons.
You know, today would be 245.
Right.
Yes, we've got 244 in the cat.
And how much music has come out of this show when you think about?
We're always like in our heads with music at one point.
We were doing a playlist.
Yeah, we were.
And then it just got too much work.
I would still love to go back and redo the playlist for every single episode.
That's a lot of music.
That's a lot of music.
That's a lot of music.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, yeah.
And I don't think that honestly, I don't think we sound a day over 235.
No.
Appreciate that, Stacey.
Keeping it real.
Yeah, no problem.
Keeping it real.
Absolutely.
Okay.
All right.
Okay.
Do you have one more?
I think maybe what's the biggest thing you've learned about yourself?
What you've been doing this show?
Really quick.
I like to talk.
You learn about yourself doing the show.
Well, no, like, I mean, kidding aside, like it is because of wisdom from the wardrobe that I actually found that I really,
I really love it and have gone on to have a couple of my own podcasts and have really enjoyed it.
I mean, I'm, you know, my mom is sitting behind me right now, like, seriously.
She didn't know she liked to talk and all of you are like, seriously, you didn't know.
But honestly, the ease with which it came and how comfortable I am doing it.
And that has been a joy.
And I am very grateful for that.
Very cool.
How about you?
I think I would say the same thing.
I mean, when we started this, you know, I was a nugget of an idea that I placed in front of you guys and you ran with it.
And I was really quite happy to sit there and not say very much.
Yeah.
But I kept getting prodded to the point now where, you know, it comes almost like second nature.
I love the time that I spend with you guys getting to talk about something I'm super passionate about.
So, you know, anybody that knows me from the show probably thinks I'm an extrovert and I'm not.
I'm the biggest introvert you would ever meet.
But this show has allowed me to do a little different side of myself.
It also allowed me to actually produce a podcast for somebody else as well.
So, you know, so yeah, it's been, it's been great.
How about you back?
I just like the way that we all kind of come at things differently, but it's like all of our ideas can mesh.
And, you know, so it's not like we all have the same like.
Oh, there's no hard and fast rules.
We kind of all come at it differently, but we end up kind of in the same place.
That makes sense.
Yeah.
I once heard somebody say that we, you know, we disagree.
But we do it respectfully.
And I think what they were trying to say about that is that we have our own opinions and our own ideas.
But we listen to each other and we kind of form this overall overarching information point for people.
And I love that.
Well, it's interesting.
So what, 245 episodes and as much time as we spend with each other.
And, you know, even in front of clients, sometimes we have, you know, semi-differing of opinions.
It's a little harsh, but yeah.
And then clients are like, oh, so you guys really are like that?
I'm like, yeah, we are.
Yeah, we totally.
We totally are.
But we get to it.
So, well, here we are.
Like Pamela said, 245 episodes today.
We launched wisdom from the wardrobe January 10th, 2019, with a simple idea.
Just to talk a little bit about fashion, a little bit about style.
And do it in kind of a strange, sometimes interesting way.
And bring people into the closet.
This is what we didn't expect.
Or out here or out.
Right.
Well, we didn't expect that we'd be going this long.
We thought, okay, we'll do this once a month.
We'll record four shows and put it out there and we'll see what happens.
And it became a weekly show live that we do on air.
And Eric, we want to just thank you for your amazing engineering and support throughout this whole thing.
It's been a pleasure.
And for everyone here at KKNW 11.50 AM has been just fabulous.
We've talked about trends.
We've questioned each others.
We talked about red carpet over the years.
Wardrobe disasters, style psychology.
Remember that fashion in history.
And against widespread hates Stacy.
What season we know hates Stacy.
I love that whole thing.
Like Stacy, does this season hate you or not?
Yep.
And the internal question.
That do we still want to always continue to go forward.
And think about what's in your closet and keep asking yourself.
Or in your house.
Or in your house.
Why do we not get rid of things?
And I want to know why Pamela still has those shoes.
Okay.
So many shoes.
So we're not talking about my shoes.
We're going to talk about that.
This show has been full of spirited debates, style revelations.
And we've had moments where we've had to say wait.
Is that actually coming back?
What's going on?
Where's Beck?
And will that make Beck fidget?
And will that make Beck fidget?
Right.
You have said that so many times.
I know because that's one of my things.
I just never want to fidget with my clothes.
Right.
But the truth in matter is the best part of show has never been about just style.
It's been about the conversations, confidence, identity, creativity.
Every day, we get absolutely camaraderie getting dressed.
And most importantly, it's been about our listeners.
And given them something that is real passionate for us.
And important.
And hopefully they've enjoyed it.
And it you listeners have enjoyed it as well.
But after 2445 episodes,
wisdom from the wardrobe is going to take a hiatus.
We're going to step back.
Take stock.
And think about what you want to do next.
So this is a seasonal edit.
But podcasts are still out there.
So you can listen to and there's still a bunch of information.
We're not going anywhere.
We just want to be.
We're going to take a moment and regroup.
I want a TV show.
I draw a line under that one.
No.
We will still be working.
You never know.
We will still be working.
You never know.
Maybe we'll come back with a TV show.
We'll still be working with clients that are wardrobes
and their home styling as well.
We'll still show up confidently.
We'll be here.
It's just simply a pause for the microphones.
Like I said, but we're not gone forever.
It's just part of the journey.
And so from myself,
back Stacey, of course,
Lady P and Eric are ever ready engineer.
We want to thank you very much for listening to Wisdom Front of Wardrobe.
And remember,
Stylis never what you wear.
It's how you show up in the world.
So stay stylish.
And remember,
trends come and go.
But great style always gets the last word.
Thank you for listening to Wisdom Front of Wardrobe.
Bye.
Bye.
