As we are less than a week away from the Cowboys officially getting underway, we've got a couple of Cowboys items to get to, including yesterday, they decided to restructure a few of their deals, including the deals of Kenny Clark, DeRond Bland, and Jacob Ferguson to give them a little more cap space heading into the season. And some were saying, oh, look, they're trying to line up exactly with what Max Crosby would need if he were ever to come here. Pretty suspicious. Yeah. As when we were wondering after the Cowboys stay to the union, when Jerry would not completely shut the door on Max Crosby, not still being someone that he

1:03would consider making a trade for. So would not be totally shocked if that's something we hear come down before game one. Yeah, and I don't think that there's that many other positions that would command a salary like that where they would make a trade in that way. Yeah. I guess the only other possibility would be is if one of the corners that they're counting on being a difference maker this year absolutely does not early on or there's an injury. You know, otherwise, it does seem like they are lining it up to try to bring in another big time pass rusher. And if that's Max Crosby, then why not? What they've been doing otherwise hasn't been working. Why not just throw the kitchen sink at it and try to add everything you can and go for it. I would love that. Yeah. And I always love to. This is the perfect. I think example of when a team tells you what we're just we're up against the wall. We got nothing. There are always ways they can restructure and move

2:04things around and move money here. If they need cap space, they can get it when they need it. Yeah, Rams kind of exposed everybody when all of the popular thoughts said, well, Rams are going to crash out here soon. There's no way that you can maintain a team without having cheap options brought in through the draft. No, we'll just keep kicking the can down and be be good and make a bunch of money and people want to come play here and it'll be fine. And they're right. And the cowboys consistently talk about how much they spend. And if you actually look at the numbers and what they spend on players, it's actually not in the upper tier to say the least of the league. So it's always just the game of just lying to the fans essentially, I would say. Yeah. We also had two. The cowboys captains were named as going with a small group this year. We have a apparently an 11 person leadership council. But then the captains are just DAC,

3:08Quinnon Williams, Kenny Clark, and then Brandon Aubrey and Rowdy. And yeah, they're going to send Rowdy out there to call the coin to us. Raw T by Albertsons and and Calche. Great. So the funny story from this week to me has been, I'm excited Von Miller is here. I think he gives them a perfect weapon to bring in on past rushing situations. I think he's perfect for the room. I, you know, we heard from the man himself that we will not find a better teammate than Von Miller. And so far, the main thing I've heard about with him is he's really concerned about number 40. He wants that number 40. Hunter Lipke's got it. How does how does Von Miller go about getting it? What we finally had in the 11th hour, a deal apparently struck between Von Miller and Hunter Lipke as Von Miller has given up a percentage of his chicken company,

4:08200 Lipke in exchange for the number. So now, Hunter Lipke has turned number 40 into number 30. And he's a part owner of Greener Pastures Chicken. Okay. I've been thinking about this a lot. Okay. I think that Hunter Lipke is kind of a jerk for asking for this because I don't know how successful this chicken company is. And maybe this is all, I don't know if self-serving is the right way, but just having it out there as a story is probably good for Von Miller, right? Like maybe he weighed out that even just doing this deal and having it, having it become a story is going to get the name brand out there and is actually going to be a good thing. And actually, yeah, pretty good in the long run. Maybe that's the way that he's thinking. But originally, if you listen like y'all played on the sweet spot yesterday, he first offered him free chicken for life from a guy that owns a chicken company. Probably isn't that big of an

5:11investment of what he was originally offering. I mean, how much can one guy eat and chicken a year? Von Miller owns a chicken farm. Quite a lot. And I bet Hunter Lipke can eat a lot, but at some point, you're going to be like, I don't want to send him more. Yeah, I need mailbox money here. You want to mix it up a little bit. Maybe I'd chicken-fried steak or something. Right. I don't know. Even your steaks got to be chicken-fried. Yeah, but I guess my point is that was his offer. He also offered him the full body tattoo scenario that he said was like tens of thousands of dollars. But presumably much less than equity in a thriving chicken company. Right. So I feel like Hunter Lipke read his situation correctly that here's a guy that has more money than he knows what to do with. He really wants this. He really wants what I have. So I'm going to leverage what I have and try

6:12to take full advantage of it. And it seems kind of like he asked for a lot. And Von Miller begrudging ly was like, all right, I guess I'll do that if I have to. I'm saying he asked too much here. I'm happy he got it. But I think Von Miller is going to be like on him. I think he's going to be walk keeping an eye on him that he scanned him out of a percentage of his chicken company. I think he will not see see Hunter Lipke on the on the owner emails because apparently there are other NFL players that are bought into this business. It's like the Miami dolphins of chicken companies is Patrick my homes has a percentage through breeze has a percentage. Nick Folls has a percentage. And now they got to welcome into the group Hunter Lipke into the Super Bowl winning quarterbacks and MVP's and then guys with just. But load of money. And then we have yeah, this guy here who gave up his jersey number man. I have always thought that I think a great one of

7:16the best things you can do as a player, especially if you are a spare player is be the guy wearing the jersey number of some big addition. And that guy's got to bring out all the stuff. I would love to be in that position. Dude, that'd be so great. It's like hitting a lot of not the mega millions, but it's like hitting a lot a little bit. I'm about to cash in something. This guy's got a wine and dine. We just for a number that I probably don't really care about. But once you start negotiating something is where you start to lose the good faith a little bit. It's just like he's won Miller. If he really wants that number, he should probably just get the number and whatever he gives you. Be thankful. Just be thankful for it that he is allowing me to even be on the same team. Why? I've been here longer than him. I've been on this team for years. He's going to walk in here. Or you compare the Von Miller, but you're Hunter Lipke. Yeah. Yeah. I've fumbled and I've had a couple of touchdowns. I've been grinding every day. I've worked for this number 40. And he turned

8:19his nose up at free chicken for life. Again, though, you read the fine print and it's he will deliver one life chicken to your doorstep a month. And you got to butcher it yourself. And that is what your chicken for life deal is. So yeah, I say go out there and get what you want because they probably were in negotiations. And they have to both go watch this number, right? Yeah. Well, but just a number then why do you care so much? They have to get an arbitrary to kind of work it out between them. Boy, you don't want to have to get into chicken number arbitration. That would be brutal. I also found it funny too when reading about this that apparently Von Miller majored in poultry science at Texas A&M and look at him now, which sounds like the most basket weaving give up thing that you could do. But I guess at A&M in a school where you're focusing on agriculture and stuff like that, I can understand it, but it does still just sound

9:21funny. I'm just glad he's living his best life and that that's what he wanted to do. He knew from a young age he wanted to be in the chicken game. And now he's living it. He used football to be able to get to where he actually wanted to be in life, which was giving Hunter Lipke small percentages of his chicken business. Yeah. Have this number. You and T does not offer a poultry degree. Oh, trust me. I know. That's where I'd be right now. I'd be the head of Tyson. If you and T offered that, but they didn't. So I pivoted to radio to radio tv and film. You made the right choice. Yeah. Look, I had to I had to make a very specific choice as a chicken prince to either inherit the kingdom or go my own way and I went my own way. It's like the national signing table with like the little chicken head. Yeah, I had a full chicken or a pair of headphones and I picked the headphones.
