Alan Ladd was an American actor and film star who was active during the 1930s and 1940s. He was known for his distinctive voice and his roles in films such as "This Gun for Hire" and "The Glass Key". Ladd was a popular leading man of the 1940s, and his film career was cut short when he died of cancer in 1964.
