Co-founder of the United Farm Workers
Cesar Chavez was a Mexican-American labor leader and civil rights activist who co-founded the United Farm Workers (UFW) labor union. He led the grape strikers in Delano, California, and was a key figure in the movement for farmworkers' rights. Chavez was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1994.
