Khalid Sheikh Mohammed

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is a Pakistani national who was convicted of masterminding the 9/11 attacks. He was born in 1964 in Balochistan, Pakistan, and was educated in Islamic schools. Khalid became radicalized in the 1980s and joined the mujahideen in Afghanistan. He later became a key figure in the 9/11 plot, and was captured by Pakistani authorities in 2003. Khalid was later extradited to the United States, where he was tried and convicted of multiple charges related to the attacks. He is currently being held at the Guantanamo Bay detention center.
