King of England
King Harold II was the King of England from 1066 until his death in 1066. He is best known for his role in the Norman Conquest of England, which took place in 1066. Harold was the son of Godwin, Earl of Wessex, and became king after the death of his half-brother Edward the Confessor. He was defeated by William the Conqueror at the Battle of Hastings in 1066, and died shortly after the battle. Harold is also known for his role in the Battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066, where he defeated a Norwegian invasion force.
