Marie Curie was a Polish-born physicist and chemist who was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, as well as the first person to win two Nobel Prizes in different fields (physics and chemistry). She pioneered radioactivity research and founded the Curie Institutes in Warsaw and Paris.
