Momofuku Ando

Momofuku Ando was a Japanese businessman and entrepreneur. He is best known as the founder of Nissin Foods, the company that invented instant ramen. Ando was born in 1910 in Osaka, Japan. He served in the Japanese military during World War II and later worked as a salesman for a food company. In 1958, he invented instant ramen, which became a huge success and helped to establish Nissin Foods as a global brand. Ando was awarded the Order of Culture, Japan's highest cultural honor, in 2007.
