Spurius Maelius

Spurius Maelius was a Roman equestrian and politician who rose to power during a time of great turmoil in Rome. He was appointed to secure grain for the city and became known for his popularity and influence. Maelius was either a skilled politician or a ruthless opportunist, depending on one's perspective. He was eventually assassinated by Servilius Ahala, the Master of the Horse. Despite his tragic end, Maelius remains a fascinating figure in Roman history.
