Thabo Mbeki is a South African politician who served as the President of South Africa from 1999 to 2008. He was the leader of the African National Congress (ANC) from 1997 to 2008 and played a key role in the country's transition to democracy. Mbeki is also a former chair of the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) and has been involved in various international organizations. He has written several books on politics and economics.
