Welcome to the I-Lypssevel show, guys. It's Wednesday afternoon and downtown Charlottesville. This is the Watercooler of Content and Conversation. Good afternoon to you and thank you kindly for joining us on Charlottesville, Al Moral County and Central Virginia's number one media platform. Today's show is going to be an impactful one. In fact, I encourage you, the viewer and listener, to pick up your phone right now, share the show to somebody who needs to hear what's going on in our community. How about the fact that $70 million of taxpayer resources passed through last night's Charlottesville City Council agenda? How about the fact that Kate Akkopf, ladies and gentlemen, through a freedom of information act request, was now we know through a FOIA request and an audit of her text messages with Matt Haas. She was corresponding with disgraced and now retired superintendent Matt Haas about close
session board meeting material. That was about him before the meeting actually transpired, including it looks like tipping her hand or the board tan about forcing his resignation. We'll talk about that on today's program. And we need to discuss what has been barding my direct messages, my inbox, my text messages, my voicemail, and my in-person conversation conversations. There appears to be alleged assaults and extremely sketchy behavior that's going on in the western feeder pattern of Al Moral County public schools. Al Moral County Council, elementary, and school and western Al Moral high school. I have somewhere between 20 and 30 individual sets of parents that have reached out to me with points of concern about, you know, and I'm choosing my words very carefully here,
alleged inappropriate behavior with minors at Henley, Brownsville, and Western. And they've asked us to use this platform to shine a light on what's going on because these parents believe that they are being kept in the dark again by Al Moral County public schools. We'll talk about that on today's program. We'll also welcome Holly Foster to the program. Holly Foster is the queen of Henrico. She covered Judah Whitcowers' action in a $75 prop bet we had on this show, a bottle of top shelf scotch. The bet was whether Alison Spillman would cry in her final meeting on the school board. She's the at large member. She's since resigned. Remember, the superintendent's resigned. The principal at Hollywood Meet Elementary's resigned. Now a school board members resigned. The community's calling for Kate of Cuffs removal from the school board. I lost that bet while Spillman did not cry in her final monologue or commentary.
She did cry when she was actually presented not proverbial flowers, but actual flowers by Rebecca Berlin in a, I don't know, over the top hyperbolic thank you by Bob Beard, fellow school board members. Then she started crying. I am a man of my word. I have a bottle of scotch in front of me here. This is top shelf, Glenn Fidditch, age 12 years. You have it in my hands. I have it in my hands. We will open this up with Holly Foster who covered Judah Whitcowers' action. We had to present the the the winnings to Judah while Holly was here and she's made the trip from Henrico. She has champagne tastes and has a a a nap for the finer things in life. And frankly speaking, Holly's just an all around amazing person. I would like to give some attention to John Vermillion and Andrew Vermillion who are now
officially launching their new division. It's Virginia vacuum company. Their family business which is three generations strong is nearly 63 years old. And for 63 years they have serviced vacuums and Charlottesville and across central Virginia. But what we're doing now is driving immediate attention, actual attention like visible attention to this service vertical and it's a division called Virginia vacuum company. Our firm is proud to work alongside the Vermillion and doing this. Just like our firm did it with Charlottesville Swimming Pool Company, we are tangibly, visibly and branding their service verticals at this family business in a world where branding and search engine optimization and Google algorithm crawl are how you procure business. Virginia vacuum company, Charlottesville Sanitary Supply and Charlottesville Swimming Pool Company. These are the folks you contact for anything cleaning, vacuum swimming pool related, vacuum
repair and ladies and gentlemen, anything bono wood floor product line. Judah Wick cameras behind the camera. Holly Foster in about 15 minutes on the program studio camera two shot Judah Wick power. We have 70 million that's moved through the council agenda last night. I'll put it in perspective for the viewers and listeners. Look at how much money moved through one meeting in Charlottesville, Virginia. This is literally just last night's city council agenda. You had $65.8 million spent so far on a five year affordable housing investment. It's a 10 year goal to spend $100 million local government has. They're five years in and they're already ahead of their spending threshold. Halfway through of $100 million goal and they're at $65.8 million. That was on the agenda last night. Very curiously that $65.8 million and the housing affordability initiative is tied to
area median income. The problem with tying into area median income as we've highlighted on this program is the AMI in this area is $140,000. When you tie a housing affordability initiative to an area median income threshold, you basically have to do $140,000 due to and you have to times it by, let's say you want to do it at a 70% AMI, right? Well, 70% of area median income is 98 grand. Is government truly, city hall truly, city council truly, city manager truly doing a housing affordability initiative when the housing they're creating is for families that have $100,000, $98,000 specifically cumulative or aggregated household income. Is this really the poor of the poor of the community?
That's a question I'm going to continue to ask viewers and listeners. I'll continue. Also on the agenda last night, there was a two million Charlottesville City School contingency allocation. There was a $750,000 Jefferson Scholar allocation. There was a 452,000 for juvenile crime and control funding, 450,000 and dockless scooter, limescooter, bicycle money, 300,000 and additional general fund revenue, 78,000 and behavioral health docket grants, 55,000 for the beacon kitchen, 25,000 for Alan Cajita, Ludwig Cootner's Xart Park Foundation. Love Ludwig, love Alan Cajin. They watch it, listen to the show, some of the most prolific commercial property owners and all of Charlottesville and in parts of Al Mar County, Alan Cajin regularly listens
to this program called me when Judah Wickewer tried to compare him to John Dooberry. I chastised Judah Wickewer for that. Alan Cajin was not happy with Judah Wickewer. I felt the burden of that. Judah Wickewer then apologised for calling him the emperor of empty lots, John Dooberry, not an applicable moniker by any capacity, Mr. Cajin. We love you, Alan. They got 25,000 for council, Alan Cajin, the bicostal attorney who owns a boatload of property in Charlottesville City and Ludwig Cootner owns a boatload of property in Charlottesville City. It's got a fantastic rooftop penthouse on the downtown wall. They have an art park foundation at their X Park over here that's flagship by three notch. That foundation got a cool $25,000 of taxpayer resources last night. And how about the $10,000 for the Virginia State Police heat reimbursement? In totality and last night's council meeting, $70 million passed through the agenda.
And I watched that council meeting from start to finish. Council chambers were empty. When you don't have media, media like Charlottesville and Central Virginia's number one platform, the I love Seville network discussing this. Before you know it, $70 million of your hard earned income. This is not council's money. This is not city halls money. This is money that we earned that local government took to us, took from us and chose to spend how they saw fit. They're tying affordability to area median income, which is $140,000 and a clip of 70% of AMI, which means families at 100G. These elected officials are determining how we spend our money and the only media platform that's talking about it in a sophisticated and nuanced 300,000 person region is this platform right here. That's why we're talking about it.
So I asked this question for you, Judah. How is government success measured? Is local government success measured by money spent, taxpayer resources spent, or is local government success measured by results in quality of life? The show is yours. Judah, what kind of jack of all wins? I mean, I think in this region that's a very much political question because our entire city council is are made up of Democrats. So it's really impossible to answer that question without getting into a bit of politics. And I mean, I don't really like either side, but I certainly see a lot of spending and I think ultimately the success or failure is based on people getting reelected and that
seems to happen, that seems to happen with the candidates we've got. And that tells me that the people that live here by and large are happy giving that money away. I measure success of local government by quality of life. I measure success of local government by can we walk the downtown mall without being inundated and overwhelmed by the homeless that have basically transitioned from the banks of the Rivanna River to the most important eight blocks of the region, the downtown mall. I measure success by this. Does Juan Diego Wade, Lloyd Snook, Michael Payne, Jen Fleischer, and Natalie Oshren have the minerals, have the cajonis to offer a policy, a proven ordinance that says you can't on the downtown mall and you can't store your possessions on the downtown mall. Do they have the minerals to do that?
That's how I measure success. I measure success by do all walks of life have the ability to live in a home that they've called a home for a long period of time that's exponentially gotten more expensive post COVID. You look at the 2019 number versus the 2026 number, it's like a 50 or $55,000 jump in area median family household income. Salaries, home income, have not increased $55,000 for the average Joe and average Jennifer from 2019 to 2026. But that's what the data says. I measure government success by saying do we have a diverse economic ecosystem that hires within the community? I measure success by safety. I measure success by quality of life. And right now what we have locally in Charlottesville leaves a lot to be desired. But to Judas Point, it's a one party system. And if the one party continues to get elected, then maybe that's what folks want.
Maybe the folks that are electing these candidates want a homogenous community that's nothing but white and wealthy that has Charlottesville as pita tear or second home or they wax the nostalgic of their time at the University of Virginia so they work remotely or hybridly and come down here. Maybe they want locally owned and operated to go by the wayside and maybe they want locally owned and operated to be replaced by big box brands that are on every street in America. Maybe they want our roads proliferated with Subaru's and with Prius's and with Teslas. Maybe they want traffic to be bumper to bumper at all periods of time because they're rubber stamping development at every single possible meeting. Maybe they want unions to take over the city at the expense of average Joe's and average Jennifer's, the businesses and the livelihoods that are associated with them. Maybe they want education to be watered down.
Maybe they want the police to be watered down. That's not a community that I want. But if you continue to elect one system, one party, one apparatus, one machine, this is what you get. So maybe we're completely wrong. I think we're being common sense but maybe we're completely wrong. In conclusion, the first topic of the show last night, $70 million on the agenda that moved through a city council meeting that had crickets and council chambers. Absolutely mind-boggling. I love to give some attention to Corbin Snow and Snow's Outdoor Living. We are doing a 275 square foot patio fire pit retaining wall. It's going to be book end with some white hydrangeas, my wife's favorite flowers at our home in Ivy. We're going to spend a lot of time there making memories with our boys. The team at Snow's Trevor Chandler, the landscape designer, have done an absolutely amazing
job. If you need any heart-scape done, any landscaping done, hand-picked planings, your customization outside your home, outside your pool for quality of life, it is Snow's folks. Snow's Outdoor Living, the process has been an absolute joy. The next headlines got to be Kate of Cuff as we welcome Wanda Morris and Stacey Baker Paddy to the show as we're about eight minutes or so, seven minutes or so from Holly Foster the Queen of Henrico. Judah, you and I disagree on this. You and I disagree on this. There was an article in the Seville Weekly, if you have not had a chance to read the article in the Seville Weekly, the headline is text messages, raise questions about school board members' friendship with former superintendent. Its author is Nathan Alderman. Very interestingly is the guy that does the social media and digital media for the Almarle County Democratic Party. So here's Nathan Alderman, the author of an article that is absolutely a scathing indictment
of a rising star in the Almarle County Democratic Party, Kate of Cuff, so props to Nathan Alderman. I called him out and his coverage of Brent Lillard, the CEO of Guffsmart by saying he allowed his ideology and his political bias to influence his coverage of Brent Lillard who's clearly on the right. I characterize him as a libertarian. He's a government contractor that makes money in the defense sector selling weapons. I said Alderman was being biased in his coverage. Here he's proven his not. He's literally offered a scathing indictment from my standpoint of Kate of Cuff. And Kate of Cuff now, through a Freedom of Information Act request that was provided by unnamed citizens to Nathan Alderman of the Seville Weekly, we know Kate of Cuff was communicating with disgraced former superintendent Matthew Hoss about information that is closed session conversation meeting agenda talking points with Matthew Hoss via text message before
the closed session even happened during the closed session after the closed session. The type of behavior that is disingenuous at best, shady as duck, more likely, and calls again into question the character and the integrity of Kate of Cuff, the school board member who is under fire. Judah, you may not take that stance, which are fine, completely curious and odd. No, I feel like you're focusing on the wrong thing. There's nothing, I don't think there's anything wrong with Kate Akef texting Hoss. What? You don't think there's anything wrong with Kate of Cuff texting Hoss about a board's that's not what I said. The content of the text may be the problem. Obviously. Obviously, which is why that's what we should be focusing on rather than whether or not
we are going to call them texting each other. What's the word you used? Clancy, Clancy, and Desslin. Okay, I'll throw this here. It's like, if I text you and somebody doesn't see me do it, is that secret? Are we being secretive? No, we're just texting each other. That was how Kate's taking the talk show for viewers and listeners to decide. The school board is Matthew Hoss's boss, right? Matthew Hoss is the superintendent, the CEO of Almour County Public Schools. And the board, the school board is the board of directors that manages and is the superior of the superintendent, the CEO. From my standpoint, the school board should be sending friendly emojis, blue hearts, friendly emojis, hand emojis, and having... Do you want me to be your silent support and your body at the meeting? And so we can argue about the contents. But I think trying to make the texts themselves, regardless of what's inside them, out to be
some type of secretive, like they're passing secret messages in class or something. I don't see the benefit in discussing that. I respectfully disagree with you. In fact, in this article... So you think they shouldn't be texting at all? I don't think the school board should be having weather talk, emoji communication, and certainly not passing on communication of what was going to happen in a closed session before the actual closed session transpired with Matt Hoss, the superintendent. It blurs the lines of professionalism. It blurs the lines of... Dude, if this happened... I'm a business person. I'm a business guy. People fault me on this program for looking at things strictly as like a balance sheet or a profit and loss statement or tax returns or finances. In any corporate setting, if a board of directors was corresponding with the CEO of this company
and this kind of capacity, there would be hell to pay. It's not done this way. It's done on the record. It's done with paper trail emails, normally where it's done. It's done through the chair of the board. The board communicates with the chair. The chair communicates with the CEO. You don't have board members side chatting. This is a side chat. This is like a husband and wife. This is like a husband and wife and one partner in a marriage has a side chat with another person. The husband or wife is going to have an issue if there's a one-on-one side chat. Their partner is having with somebody else. That's what this is. She is side chatting, Matt Haas, without the rest of the board knowing. How we know that is Alison Spillman. Goodness gracious. Everyone knows that Alison Spillman and I are in completely ends of the spectrum. Alison Spillman says in this Seville Weekly article, I'll find the quote. Did you read that quote?
Yeah, let's see. I want you to read it for bait him for them. Looking for the specific one. There's one about the feedback, self-reporting. These text messages tell Haas everything we were doing in closed session. This is quote. Read it quote. Alison Spillman to the Seville Weekly reporter Nathan Alderman says quote. Read it to him. These text messages tell Haas everything we were doing in closed session. Then Alison Spillman is wrinkled by this. Then you have the text message. Then you have the quote from Ellen Osborne to the Seville Weekly. You have a former school board member offering a quote to the Seville Weekly and a current school board member, Ellen Osborne, offering a quote to the Seville Weekly. Ellen Osborne, the Scottsville District Representative, was equally wrinkled. What did she say? She said, however, if a board member chooses to make that information public, then it undermines the very reason that the meeting was closed.
Yeah, yeah. She's like, why is this board member talking about what's going on in the closed session? It also says Virginia Law does not prohibit attendees of a closed meeting from divulging what happens within it nor impose any legal penalty for doing so. And it also says in the final paragraph, Kedekoff, an interview with Jay James of 1070 WINA, Jay said to Kedekoff, I want to stipulate this. Legally, you cannot discuss or reveal what is discussed in closed session. That's why it's a closed session. And a cuff response to Jay James on the record in a microphone exactly. You clearly see a trail of character sketchiness with Kedekoff. This is the member that has an petition that's active to remove her from the board. Okay? Other topic and then we welcome Holly Foster to the program. I'm hesitant to even talk about this. I talked about it briefly on yesterday's show. The lower third should be on screen.
There's two of them. I am being bombarded by parents, individual parents, in the Western feeder pattern of Almarel County public schools. And these parents are passing along some of the most concerning information of Brownsville Elementary, Henley Middle School, and Western Almarel High School. I have details that are gory, details that will raise the hair on the back of your neck as if it's maxed the German Shepherd at a home in Ivy seeing a red fox in our backyard. That's what I felt when reading these details passed along from parents. Our highlighting to me that investigations are going on as we speak, teachers on leave as we speak, and no communication from Almarel County public schools of what's going on.
I am going to leave it at that. I find this to be red flag at best, a pattern of malpractice more realistically, because this was the same piss-bore communication that transpired with the Sweeney investigation. Parents, our inboxes are open. I also don't want to get sued, and I also... Well, as long as you're not in... I'm not? I'm not naming the kids names, the teacher names. I'm highlighting the fact that there's... I don't think anybody can sue you for a second. I'm highlighting the fact, please don't assume, Judah Wiccauer, on this show. I'm highlighting the fact that there are interested authorities investigating activities at these three schools and what is supposed to be the gold standard of Almarel County public schools, the Western feeder and pattern. And I'll leave it at that. I want to highlight Conan Owen, and why don't we welcome Holly Foster to the program.
I'm a man of my word who pays up his bets. The reason we've waited on this is because we've had... We wanted to get Holly on the show. She's the queen of Henrico. I lost the bet. And when I lost this bet, it was with Judah Wiccauer. And perhaps I was trying to pressure Judah. I think Holly may say I was trying to pressure Judah into a proposition bet. You definitely were. Okay, she says like, definitely was. I will defend Judah on that. Holly Foster, first let me introduce her. She's an amazing and then three shot her when you have her on. You are right now with the studio camera. We'll get you on a three shot. This is your camera right here, this one here. Oh, right. This will be your one shot. The world is seeing you here. She's the queen of Henrico. She's an amazing human being. We met Holly Foster literally through the I Love Seeville show. She has got a fantastic taste. We were blessed with Holly Foster one day coming by with some licorice.
Red vines. Red vines. Red vines. Because Judah said on the show he was a fan of red vines. Basically it's a version of Twizzlers. Right. Far better. Far better than Twizzlers. Thank you, Holly Foster. She surprised us with Twizzlers. And then we've gotten to know each other. Her dog is Luke. Her dog Luke is famous at the Borse. Famous at Kazwick. She routinely stays there. She's met my son. She's met my wife, both my sons. She's met my wife. She's all around great person. And she was watching a show where we did a proposition bet with Judah Will Allison Spillman cry in her last meeting. Judah got to pick the outcome. He said that she would cry. I said, all right, for the sake of a talk show, I'm going to say she won't cry. She did not cry at her monologue. But she did cry when Bob Beard was giving her actual flowers. Literally, there was, unfortunately, a child sexual assault investigation was on the agenda. And they spent 10 minutes offering praise, heaping praise on Allison Spillman.
And then she started crying when Rebecca Berlin presented her flowers. So long story short, top shelf, 12-year-old, aged scotch, Glenn Fiddich. We had a threshold of $75. This was slightly over. We waited for Holly to be here so we can enjoy it because she covered Judah Will Cowers action. I'm going to jump up to you guys to determine where the bottle scotch goes. If I was the steak horse here or covering the action, I would say half that bottle's mine, Judah, but that's up to you guys. I'm going to open it here completely, brand new. And just a little sip for me and Judah gets the rest. Oh, look at that. But I figure he's probably going to put it on the bar. Credibly generous. But see, then I decided that Judah's action has to be covered for a while because you're always goading him into these bets. So I brought goodies for the ball. Oh, man. Oh, my gosh. And I figure that when you get Keith and you get Jerry Radcliffe, then she catches after
hours. Okay. I think he's watching. Jesse Rutherford, I think, Scott Morris. You all need some stuff. Okay. So I have direct from Greece. A huge bottle of Ozo. Oh, Ozo. I got to know Ozo's story. Go on. What else do you have here? Judah, you might have to open this. No finger. Just go ahead. And then just because we're doing Scotch. Okay. And I got a different brand. There's a McCallan 12 to put to the bar. I love the McCall. It's a small bottle. Not what you got at the hollow of the store. But this is the best. You can only get out of the country. And I get it in Bermuda. It's Hennessy Pure White. Oh, my gosh. So that is magnificent. This is magnificent. And that you should open and try that. You're an amazing woman. Let me put this on camera here so we can show you. Judah, you open that bottle of a horse and Scotch and everybody.
We're going to make sure this is a studio. We're going to make sure this is a studio. Molly Foster, the queen of Henrico. Ladies and gentlemen, one of our favorite viewers and listeners, a bottle of Hennessy Pure White that you could only find in Bermuda. Well, I think you can get it in Europe, but I get it in Bermuda. Hennessy Pure, I've never had that. Oozzo, I have had Oozzo. This is the drink that I had at the back of Jack and Jill's with the late, great Zanise. As I was negotiating my first property purchase, he said, let me bust out some Oozzo. After Hurt was there as well, one of his best friends. We were drinking Oozzo while he was smoking Greek cigarettes as we were passing a napkin back and forth negotiating. I think it was like a $350,000 deal. And then obviously the MacAllen 12 is inside the box. But I remember the story about the napkin. You're an amazing person. I had a couple bottles of Oozzo and you can only drink so much. And that's true.
That's true. The MacAllen 12, this is as good a scotch as you're going to find. It's good a scotch. Now we got this funny, open, judo with power. You jump in here anytime you want. I'm going to pour the Glenn Fittich right here into a glass and you said you wanted a four finger pour, Holly? No, no. Just a little. OK, you should. I'm positive. I'm positive. What is on the docket for the rest of the day for Holly Posse? When my friend who drove up with me gets back, we're driving over to the borcehead to have lunch in the mill room. And I have a package to leave for Jan Russo, your friend Jerry's, Jim's wife. And then we're going to head back to short pump. The Jim is the, how would you characterize the Jim? I think his official title is Bell Captain and he's probably Jim of all trades at Borcehead. Jim is the Bell Captain and I'll tell you right now. If you want the skinny on anything in a community, get to know a Bell Captain or a Bell Hop.
They talk to everyone, know everyone, have the scoop on everyone. Jim is our common friend. I will routinely see Jim as I'm having a happy hour beverager to at the mill room. Now we're going to have some Glenn Fittich at one in the afternoon here with our friends on the I Love Seval Show. And it sounds like Judah Wickauer and this is for you. Judah Wickauer right here. Thank you Holly Follister. I want to see your poor Frohalee and you go to the studio. Thank you. I got Judah, he's got the thirsty bug over here. We're going to give him a three finger tour. Well and see he doesn't leave the office until later this evening. Oh, yes. Yes. Yes. And I thought maybe I'd get to meet Jenny Hooke. She'd offer to come be the designated driver. Jenny Hooke, are you watching the program? You did offer to be the designated driver, Jenny Hooke. She makes the best cookies in the whole wide world. Oh, yeah. Can we do a toast to Holly Follister? Well, to Jerry and Judah. I sincerely mean this.
This is the Holly Follister, right, Judah? This is the two Holly Follister. This is two Holly Follister. And you just need to get a new picture of me to show. We can do that. We will get a picture of her. The one with the stupid snow hat is old. I'll change it out with whatever you want to send. We can get why don't we get a picture with her right now? Can you get a picture of her with holding the scotch? With the I love Seval on set behind the microphone? I mean, we like scotch, right? Yes, definitely. I would be remiss not to say, let's drink the scotch now, right? Should we have a sip? Let's have a sip. Oh, man, Holly, I love you. Mm. Tasty. This is Glen Fidditch 12, a special edition bottle of scotch that I lost in about, and I've met good Judah, right? That is so smooth. It's so smooth, right? It is so smooth. There is absolutely zero bite. I was pleased to purchase this. You know, when you're bottling bottles of top-shelf scotch or top-shelf booze, you're like, yeah, I'm doing this again. This one I was happy to buy. This is.
Because I knew Holly was going to be here and Judah, Judah, much to my disappointment, beat me in a bet here. This is her photo for the show right here. Now I love. I love to get your take. Judah's taking her photo. I love to get your take here with thousands of folks watching the program of what you think of what's going on in this Charlottesville, Elmer on Central Virginia community anywhere you want to go. Totally unbelievable. I mean, I thought the Alison's Bill and Meg Bryce school board election was absolutely ridiculous. And it was so good that Judah was able to figure out her campaign manager did the fake website and that really, really bothered me. But this whole situation that's going on now is just unbelievable. And if I was a parent and I had a small child in any of the Albuamara County schools, I would be outraged. And the entire school board should design. And you were just talking about those inappropriate messages between Kate of Cuth and Matthew Haas.
Do you think they're inappropriate? I think they're inappropriate. You can be friends with people and not discuss anything business related. But when you have a confidential situation, I mean, I'm on my HOA. There are things that I know about our association. And we can't discuss them. And I'm good friends with people on the board. But when we text or we talk privately, it's private. And the school board should definitely. For them to be the one that's going to get the replacement and then the possible new superintendent. And there's definitely a double standard about that law firm. That's not an independent investigation, in my opinion. She knows it better than we do. She knows it's not a phenomenal analysis. And I want to highlight, I'm going to brag on my friend Holly over here. You're a business background. Was it banking? I worked for what was United Virginia mortgage, which is now truest.
And then I moved over to Virginia National Bank mortgage, which is now Bank of America. And then I took a couple years off to I could take my mom traveling while she was still healthy enough to travel. And then I went to work for the largest privately owned female owned travel service in the state of Virginia, coming to travel. And I was there for 34 years. She is a business woman through and through folks. The storyline breaks my heart. And I'm curious of how you look at it. Because there is so much amazing in Charlottesville. And you are a perfect example of this. You drive on the regular from Henrico to Charlottesville to Amaro County. You love this. Well, at one time I was considering when I was retiring to come up here because I really like the climate and the area. And with the cost of everything up here now, it's just totally inappropriate.
I mean, I don't know how the average person survives financially unless they're a two-income family or they have some family money. And I routinely came up to the Borsehead, to the spa there, shout out to Melissa and Deborah, who I'd gone to for years. And Deborah went down when they started the spa at Keswick. So I go visit her every six weeks. From my front door to Keswick is 54 minutes if I'm not speeding. And I'm going to be there tomorrow. If it had worked out, I'd have just come up and spent tonight and not gone back home. But it's an easy drive. And I love the Borsehead. I started staying there when I worked for Virginia National because they had an office. I think it was fifth and the downtown mall. We'd have quarterly meetings there. And there was no omni at the time. So we were out of Borsehead. And that's how I first started going there.
Would Holly Foster in the past go to the downtown mall to enjoy the restaurants the night life? Years ago. And would Holly Foster now go to the downtown mall? No, I would not. Because if your wife doesn't feel comfortable going with a group of her friends, I certainly wouldn't. I wanted to come up and see Pablo Cruz at the Jefferson. It was like the first of June. And I was told, no, you can't do that because it's not an appropriate place for you to try and go at night by yourself or even if you went with one of your friends. Yeah, I would not. And I'm not trying to throw shade. No. And it's sad because when they did the downtown mall in the beginning, it was beautiful. And there was a store, a smith of Bermuda. I'm sure there's some old timers here that would remember it. They have one floor that they had a big selection wedding dresses back in the early 70s. That's where everybody used to come to look for wedding dresses and went to the hardware store, C&O. When we'd have meetings and the shops along the mall were wonderful.
And when fashion square first opened, people would come up from Richmond because they had a better selection at Miller and Rhodes and Hallhammers than they did in Richmond. And it was nice to come up here to eat. And the mill room used to have that wonderful weekend brunch or Saturdays and Sundays. And when my mom was alive, she loved to come up and have brunch. But no, I would not, you know, my friend that wrote up with me, I told her to be careful if she was walking the mall just to look out because she'd be by herself. And now that the revanna river has been cleared out, I'm sure some of those people have migrated back. And you have to be careful of them. That one time that I came to the studio with the red vines, somebody accosted me for money coming from the parking garage. And if it wasn't for Keith and Yona, coming across the street when I called that. Keith and Yona said hello. Yeah, it was around 4th of July and I was at the board said and they were leaving the
show to go over to Monticello. And I was really surprised to get to meet them on the street. And I waved at them and they came over and the person left. Of course my dog wouldn't have barked at him. Well, Lucas adorable is the best dog in the world. Luke is all of three and a half, four pounds? He's five pounds. He's five pounds? What kind of dog is Luke? Toy poodle. Is a toy poodle? He's adorable. Yes. His favorite person in the world is the Borsehead Santa. Oh, the Borsehead Santa is the best Santa. Oh, he is. Yes. And every year, if he sees me first during Winterwonder or Thanksgiving or Christmas if I'm up here, he wants to know where Luke is because he's never had it. The Santa Claus wants to know where Luke is. And I said, he is in the room. He's going to come get his picture later. And because Kevin Thurman always sneaks me in the back door before Santa goes home. So we get our yearly picture. Kevin Thurman, I believe, is a Vince director.
A title similar to that? Very similar. And does a phenomenal job at the Borsehead. I hope Kevin hears this. He does all the fireworks, the drone shows. Winterwonder. Winterwonder is awesome. And if you haven't been, you've got to go. Winterwonder is awesome. It is absolutely awesome. Holly Foster, I want to put in perspective how much you mean to the show. Your generosity, your direct messages are look forward to. I genuinely look forward to seeing your comments on the show, your DMs, the handful of times every year we run into each other. Turkey Trock. Turkey Trock, Christmas. Yeah. Around the holidays. You're an amazing human being. She's incredibly generous. She is extremely intelligent. She knows what's going on in Charlottesville and Central Virginia as much as anyone does. And I just, you're appreciated. Well, thank you. I appreciate you all. I learn a lot from you both, you know, on the back and forth of all sorts of different
things. And I enjoy watching Jerry Radcliffe and the sports part. I'm not usually around as much on a Tuesday. But I rewatch them on YouTube. Okay. I like it when Keith and Jerry and Scott all get together and have their little arguments on Fridays. Yeah. And especially enjoy when you have cheap, caught you on. And my caught just the George Clooney of policing. The George Clooney of police. I am my caught just so you watch the program. I have got friends who go back and find when he's been on your show just to watch it. Good, good. Someone, my caught just you hear that and George Clooney of police. He's got friends that my caught just as dude, that guy could do it. He could do no wrong and Charlesville. And that's why, you know, I've been. He's a class act. He's a class act. He's an absolute. He comes across every time we talk to him and you can't manufacture that. Well, and the last time he was on the show when you were talking about hell, he was treated during the city council meeting. And he really tried to kind of sidestep and be nice about the way he was treated.
He was very diplomatic about it. He was doing what they asked him to do and, you know, the crowd didn't like it. But, you know, he's done a very nice job in defending everybody, I think. And I think a lot of people here know how Jenny really is going out playing basketball and fight Phil and all the different places and the drunk tank or the dunk tank. See, I'm just pronouncing stuff too. Yeah, it's one thing to make a mistake in pronunciation. It's another to make it a class feature. That's true. Well, I'm glad you have a list. It's part of the show. Yeah. The Holly Foster is the absolute best. A message, Judah for Holly Foster and then a closing message from Holly Foster on the show. Anywhere you want to go, you'll close the show. How about you close the I love Seval Show? No pressure. You have a moment to think about it. Judah with Kaur a message for Holly Foster before my 135 real estate meeting on the downtown
one here. Holly Foster, cheers. It's cheers. And you enjoy reminding him about that when he tries to get you in on a bet that I've got you covered for a good while. We have appreciated you for years now. We appreciate your input. We appreciate your stake forcing and you are welcome in the studio any time you want to come here. Well, thank you. I've enjoyed being invited and I don't comment all the time on things because I feel like since I'm not a resident of the area, I don't want to put too much of my personal opinion in. But I admire what you all are doing. Whether anybody agrees with you or not, you are giving your fair and honest evaluation of things and somebody needs to give that opinion because the daily progress and the local news stations don't usually cover anything that you cover until two or three days later.
And if I lived up here and had small children, I'd be listening every single day because you're going to keep these parents updated. Thank you. Well, I mean that sincerely and it's a fun thing to do between 12 30 and 131 I have lunch when I'm not out and about but I always rewatch you on YouTube even if it's at 11 o'clock at night. You're an amazing person. This is the queen of my dreams. Well, thank you for having me. This has been fun. Yeah, it's been fun. And I knew you I had no doubt in my mind that you were going to be amazing in this setting because I know we've spoken many times. You've exceeded my expectations. Well, thank you. She's exceeded my expectations. Holly Foster knows the new cycle better than most in Charlottesville and Sheila's and Henrico. She also has the champagne taste that is an account 12 gift and who's oh gift and a Hennessy pure white gift. You too enjoy a little bit of that tonight before you leave.
We absolutely will. Thank you. I insist this does not stay at the studio bar. This goes home with you. Okay. Because if that stays at the studio bar, this is so darn good. I'm going to continue to enjoy this. It's better go home with you. In fact, you should take it right now. Yeah. Put it at the bottom for you to wait. That's why I made sure he got them a column 12. Yeah. Yeah, I can't wait. We don't want it to be gone by Monday morning. So true. That's very true. For Holly Foster, who's the best of the best for Judah Wick Hauer, who's also the best of the best. My name is Jerry Miller and this is just the water cooler of content and conversation where we just are authentically ourselves. That's what we are. We're authentic and this is who we are. And thank you kindly for joining us and we will see you guys tomorrow at 12th or 30. Take care. Holly, you were amazing. Did I do okay? Oh my god. You were wonderful. You were absolutely wonderful. He's starting the ad.
