BYU Arizona will get into some Utah Arkansas as well. And then Jake also got into a little MLB Utah talk. It was great stuff. Let's get into it here on Bryson being Uchi. Jake Hatch joins us right here on Bryce and be a new Chi BYU taking on Arizona. Utah taking on Arkansas. A lot of great football comes to the state of Utah this upcoming weekend. And Jake glad to have you on the program. How are we doing, my man? Doing fantastic. Thanks for having me, boys. How are you? We are awesome this morning. Just having a great time talking about a lot of different topics here today. And one of the biggest ones, of course, is this BYU football teams. They get ready for a big 12 conference battle at 1.30 p.m. kickoff on Fox on Saturday. Just give us your overall

thoughts right now as we head into this game, this storylines between BYU and Arizona with BYU being a touchdown favorite here. Well, the crazy thing is this is going to set the tone in so many different ways for both of these programs. You think about it from the BYU perspective. We're all expecting BYU to make run at the big 12 title game once again this year. They've said very openly that they want to make the college football playoffs. Well, you can ill afford to lose your second game of the year. Arizona, if you want to accomplish that in many respects. But then on the Arizona side of things, they're trying to kind of rewrite the whole narrative about their program because they won 10 games a year ago. But it wasn't like a season that you're like, oh, wow, it's going to be thought of for years and years to come. But they were able to come to Provo and get revenge for 41 to 19 loss in 2024 at LES and also the double the overtime loss last year in Tucson. That would change. I think a lot of Arizona fans opinions of what Brent Brennan and the wild cats are building. So it's it's a game. It's got a lot of storyline. It's got a lot

of intrigue and it's awesome to have a game of this magnitude so early in the season. No doubt about it. There's also a lot of question marks heading into it specifically in terms of what these two teams are actually going to look like against a formidable foe. BYU playing Utah Tech didn't really learn a lot about this team in terms of what depth they have and they sustain a couple injuries, including an injury in the in the running back room as well. What are your thoughts about losing Cione Mella and where BYU's at with that run game? Well, that's the thing is Cione Mella was expected to be the Robin to LJ Martin's Batman and that that's tough to lose him yet again. Because remember last year he takes a hit late in that East Carolina game. He doesn't really think anything of and all of a sudden his leg starts swung up. He's got compartment syndrome and that by the way that that could have I keep it lost his leg could have lost his life. So credit to BYU and their their trainers and doctors of miniaturists taking care of the sad part of the works all the way back guys get some self-health. He goes through training

camp on the stage and we're in the first quarter of the first game against Utah Tech. He said in his statement last night he gets rolled up on now he's got a torn MCL, a torn PCL and cartilage damage in that knee. That's just like brutal luck that that's Cione Mella was a lot in life and it's it's unfortunate for a young man like that. The question now is okay LJ Martin, you don't want to tax him too much because obviously we saw him get injured last year and that affected him the rest of the season even though I thought he played really well with that injured shoulder he dealt with. The question now is our Preston Rex, Devon Eka, Journey Tongue, these other running backs we saw play against Utah Tech are they all capable as a collective of stepping up and being what people expected the coaches expected Cione Mella to be because I think we all know that LJ Martin is going to be awesome because he's raining offensive player of the year in the big 12 conference but you do have to have somebody or somebody's plural to step up and spell him from

time to time. Jake, moving over to the defensive end, how does this BYU defense defend against Noah Fafita because they're a little thin at DB. How do you see this playing out? Well, I think you have to get pressure with four rushers. It's a bringing your defensive line, got to step up and that's a big question mark that even has lingered all the time to J Hill was BYU defensive coordinator and outs the civil same question that Kelly Pekingoff faces as he takes that spot as BYU's DC is can you get pressure with a four and three man front and if they can do that where you're able to drop seven or eight men into coverage that is going to be able to help you shore up your defense against the likes of a Noah Fafita. I've got no problem saying that in terms of being just a pure thrower Noah Fafita is probably the best in the big 12 conference. If he were four inches taller we're talking about a guy who'd be on everybody's draft board as a first round pick but he's not that tall so that obviously pushes him down draft boards does not mean that he is not capable of picking you apart and he had Arizona right there in that game of

season to go against BYU and he's been very open about wanting to get a win over BYU because he's going to all time as a starter in Tucson against the Cougar. So the thing is if you're going to beat him you've got to make it so it's near impossible for him to find gaps to throw the ball to because he is so good at identifying what coverages are and where to get the ball to and get out of his hands that it must be why you can get pressure on him with your three or four man rush it feels like it could be a really really long day. He is Jay Katch he's the host of the Lockdown Cougar's podcast amongst a lot of other things that this man does. He joins us here on the sick freedom jensen call Jake we were talking about traveling fan bases across the big 12. What are your top traveling fan bases because we were debating who which ones come to the state of Utah with the most fans. Why they come here in the first place to come and see their team it seems like Provo and Salt Lake City are the two top destinations people want to travel to and just see what's going on here. What are the top traveling fan bases in the big 12 conference and where does

Arizona rank in terms of their fans coming to Provo this weekend. So I would say the one that I think of immediately if Kansas State for example now they've only made the one trip to Provo but I remember there was a lot of purple in terms of like just relative to numbers of traveling fan bases coming to LES when Kansas State came here and played that game two years ago by recall correctly and that was a fan base I was really impressed by I have been impressed by Texas tech fans they seem to travel well. I do think the Arizona state and Arizona fans because of the proximity the Provo is in the fact that you can fly from Phoenix Sky Harbor or Tucson into Salt Lake City or Provo and it's a nonstop and it's a short hop like I think they have pretty decent representation. The biggest thing with Arizona is and I think you guys both like knowledge and this they're more traditionally a basketball school so they're more apt I think in some ways to travel for basketball than they are for football but the way that Arizona football is performing right now I think you're going to see a decent amount of Arizona fans making the trek up to Provo because

they want to see what Brent Brennan and Noelle Fafita have in store so I think it's just about if your team's good enough your fan base will travel and with Arizona being in such close proximity to Utah and Provo obviously I think that they would make that trip more readily than let's say if they were trying to go to like UCF and Orlando or Morgan Town in West Virginia. What do you think is going to be a more competitive football game this upcoming weekend? Do you think it'll be BYU in Arizona or do you think it'll be Utah in Arkansas? Now the line's a little a little bit different there's a double digit line up in Salt Lake City for Utah as they take on a bad Arkansas football team but do you think there's a chance that that one could get a little bit weird up on the hill? I think so here's the thing with Arkansas is Ryan Silverfield is a very good coach. This just happens to be his second game in charge of the Arkansas razor back so it just feels like it's almost too soon for them to be the fully formed version of what he thinks he can make Arkansas into. I think they're going to make it tough on Utah. There will be moments in that

game where they're going to bring you call it SEC Swagger Speed whatever you want to call it. They'll bring that to the table. I just don't know if they have the horses to hang with Utah for an entire game. Let's say this game we're being played a year from now guys. We're Silverfield's had a chance to recruit his own guys kind of get his philosophy and his whole vision for razor back football install. I think it'd be a far more competitive game then but I just think with it being a second game in charge I'd be hard pressed to think that they're going to mount a serious challenge to Utah. So I think it's absolutely going to be Arizona and BYU who's the more competitive game. In terms of just the rest of the big 12 through week one at this moment in time how do you feel like the entire conference did as a whole in some of the biggest non-conference matchups and then of course looking forward to this weekend where the big 12 can really gain some ground against the ACC and the rest of these big time conferences. Well it's good point week one tough look honestly to think about it like Oklahoma State we talked a lot off season a lot people talked all

off season about Oklahoma State being a dark horse to win the big 12 and I know that one game doesn't make a season but to go to Tulsa and lose by double digits that was a bad look for the Oklahoma State Cowboys and the big 12 by extension there were some other tough ones I've Houston like I know Houston beat Oregon State but you guys probably saw the crowd shots like where are Houston fans and what what happened here like so it was a tough week one I think just a perception wise for the big 12 but you just reference what I was going to say week two with the amount of games you got BYU Arizona you've got an SEC team coming to Salt Lake City you've got ASU going to Kyle Field to take on Texas A&M there's even some undercard games you think about the likes of let's say Texas Tech going to Oregon State you have a UCF and Pit playing there are a number of games out there this week that can flip that narrative on its head in just a week's time but it's going to require teams winning games and I also have a local on the state well you want to bounce back from a embarrassing loss to Tulsa how about you upstep Oregon that that would do a lot I think

for the big 12 so there are a number of opportunities for the conferences this week to make people say oh maybe the big 12 is a little better than we thought because I thought week one was a bit of a fault so to kind of connect to the college athletic scene across the state of Utah to the professional scene across the state of Utah this is something I put out on X yesterday and it kind of blew up a little bit in a conversation talking about bringing Major League Baseball to the state of Utah in your opinion because we had a full debate about it yesterday on the show a lot of textures a lot of people wanted to chime in on the conversation talking about if Major League Baseball does come to the state of Utah will it pull away corporate sponsorship dollars from some of the teams and colleges across the state because we saw Lance Anderson down at Utah tech already talking about how they don't have enough resources even to feed his team and find a place to practice that's not a good situation what are your thoughts on bringing Major League Baseball to Utah and how that'll affect the dollars being split amongst even BYU in Utah. Let me just write out front I

want to Major League Baseball to even Salt Lake City I have no problem saying that I want to have MLB in Utah I want to have another pro sport here that's I'll say that read up the outset of about what of about to say but you mailed it with the thought and the the explanation of oh hey that's going to dilute the sponsorship dollars that are out there and the funny thing about this is with an MLB team going to Salt Lake City if you're Utah you should be concerned that yeah you already have the Utah Jazz you have the Utah mammoth and potentially whatever the MLB team that comes to Salt Lake City if it happens then pulling money away from your immediate like circle of influential boosters donors whatever you want to call them right there in Salt Lake City because they're going to some of them are going to be more prone to say hey I want to invest in pro sports I want to put my money there versus putting it in college the advantage BYU has in some small way and it's not going to be a huge advantage is the fact that they're still 40 miles south they're in provo they're in different county there are other companies down here in Utah county that can

obviously invest in BYU sports that may not be as prone to investing in Salt Lake City in those sports teams sports teams up there so it's going to be an interesting world but you're dead on it's going to take money away because guess what there's a finite amount of sponsorship money out there and you already have two pro teams here it's speaking of the Jazz and the mammoth you had an MLB team and a dilute those funds even further. Well I'm all on board for a major league baseball team to come to the state of Utah as well and everybody didn't know that but just just there's trade-offs right there are good things about bringing them there's some things that are going to be a little bit tougher it's more competition in the market it's more things that you can go out and do we are also talking about what people like to do here in the state of Utah it's sports man and if you have another like they're different seasons sure but there's also only so much amount of marketing money that companies have and if they're spending $500,000 on major league baseball that's a big chunk of what their budget is as well so that's that's also part of the conversation. And the other thing

is I think you acknowledged it we are I think we're closing in four million residents in the state of Utah we're talking about like they're going to be competing with markets let's say look okay for LA for example in the greater Los Angeles area guys is it 10 20 million people in that like we're talking LA County if you add a Orange County in there like Southern California that dwarfs the entire population of the state so you just want to talk like just sheer numbers sheer amount of companies and you mentioned just the finite number of dollars yeah there is a smaller pool of resources and if you add another major protein to the market yeah guess what there are more dollars being spread across more entities meaning there's less to go around yeah and it's funny that a lot of people are referencing the studies that are currently being done to decide whether or not it's feasible for major league baseball to be supported here it absolutely is but those studies what those studies aren't telling you is that where are they getting that money from oh they're going to poach it from the current schools that are already here and the current teams that are

already here that's why it's feasible to support a major league baseball team there needs to be a study done whether or not it's feasible to support six FBS division or six division one teams three of which are FCS and multiple other professional teams as well so yeah there's a lot of that conversation apparently Matt Brown is going to put out a whole report on it waiting for the extra points newsletter to drop and more on that conversation but I do want to shift over while we're still talking about professional sports you do a lot of Rayal Salt Lake pre-haven post uh-huh let's talk a little bit about Rayal Salt Lake before we let you go because it does seem like it's been a disappointing second half of the season post world cup where are we at currently with Rayal Salt Lake and the feeling of the fan base right now because there was some booing at the stadium that happened recently as well walk us through this situation and where we're at with Rayal Salt Lake when you've gone double digit matches that actually winning a match nobody's going to be happy they're ten straight guys ten ten winners there's been obviously some draws and there was a

tutu draw the other night against L.A.F.C which L.A.F.C is a pretty good team but you the fact that they have not won a match getting all the way back to May and let's acknowledge there was a seven-week gap in there where the world cup was going on so they didn't play but when you haven't won since the spring yeah nobody's feeling good about a heart cell right now to be very blunt about it and that would include I think the guys in the locker room the coaching staff administrators owners even but the fan base in particular I think they feel a little jilted in a way because they look at it from the prison of hey they were flying so high early on this season they looked like a team that could challenge for the top of the Western conference and they were among top teams in the west but ever since that slide started in late May and especially since they came back from the world cup they have been unable to find a way to win a match and I know that the sale of Xavier Gozo was was one that a lot of people like well I like to hold on to him but when you have the amount of money that was going to become an ourselves way for a guy that that prodigious of a talent you were not going to be able to keep him around the crystal palace that know we move on him right now

you're okay well we'll take the money I I'm hopeful that that we will see what like Jason Christ and these other artists all executives what they've been talking about like you have some patience with what they've done roster building wise in season that it will pay off for Pablo Masquerone and company Pablo the guy that he preaches a hey stick to the plan like we use the build bellicic thing we're going to the next game like the mindset's got to be focused on the here and now and I think if they keep that mindset intact they're going to be okay but until they win their next match guys I don't think anybody's going to be feeling good about our sell how important is it that that MLS schedule and the calendar is going to change to fit the rest of football across the world specifically because it seems like in the last couple of years the way that RSL has lost big time players it's just right in the middle of the season it kills the rojo it really hurt how important is it for major league soccer going forward that they're going to match the calendar to the rest of the world soccer well that's that that's probably the number one thing is making

sure that you're able to have a star play let's see like the next Xavier Gozo for example the next guy who's a big homegrown talent from us real salt lay coming out of their academy or whatever it is if I give you have them for a full season before you ultimately if you decide to move him on to another league having him for that full season you know how good they I probably in theory would have been having him for the full MLS season now well guess what if you flip to the the they call the FIFA calendar with the rest of the world soccer yeah you'll be able to play through the entire season and then in the summer months yeah when they've had to sell these players and it's obviously disrupted the middle of the season well guess what everybody else is in the off season so then you can both move players out bring players in go through your preseason training and then hit the ground running hopefully and have an idea of okay this is what the squad is going to look like by and large for the entirety of the season and you're not having to say yeah in the middle of the season hey thanks for being here but you're out and it's going to affect our overall team play no doubt about it no doubt about it all right Jake before we let you go a little bit of announcement

that you have in terms of your new show that you're putting together what can you tell us about your new show where could we find this and and how often do you do it yeah so I've been doing walked on kugger you both know that's why I was talking to you why you today but I'm going to launch another YouTube channel that's already out there I haven't had a chance to really get it off the ground and it's entirety we're calling it yacht talk yacht was my radio moniker for years and years and years and I think you know what I'm going to keep that radio moniker we're going to have some fun with it it's going to be kind of a more of a generalized sports approach I want to talk like we just talked about we talked to rsl we talked major league baseball coming to Salt Lake City I want to talk jazz I want to talk to mammoth so it's going to be kind of a more of a generalized thing and it's going to be fun it's just it's an outlet for me to get a lot of the thoughts and a lot of the things that I would have otherwise gotten off my chest and other formats out there to the world now that I'm working independently on my own I love it I love it anything you need from Jordan and I you let us know we're here to help you out as well appreciate your time this morning thanks for jumping on with us hey thanks boys we'll talk to you soon all right all

the LA Clippers you're listening to ESPN the fan your home of Utah Valley athletics and everybody wants to do time to set you to the weekend the right way back at it on bris and be an uchi wrapping things up on a friday edition run the three men weaves in studio and he is dancing friday baby getting it on right now man there's nothing better we talk about this every single week i'm just going to remind everybody out there there's nothing better than a friday because it's the anticipation of the weekend that makes it so good yeah you get to sunday and you're like well that that didn't go as planned yeah but friday you feel good sunday scary starts sneaking in on saturday night i'm not going to lie to you that's right i think oh man i got work in two days

you go from working for the weekend to sunday bloody sunday that's exactly right scary Terry start once i hear the sunday night football music which is going to be back it just reminds me of all the missed projects and the lost homework that i had back in school i had the worst anxiety going back to school on on sunday nights like afb my parents used to watch america's funniest videos max yeah every sunday night so that theme song plus the sunday night football theme song just murdered me you notice for me it's the uh tt tt tt tt tt this is 60 minutes tt tt i knew exactly what you were talking about when i just took about the 60 minutes oh my gosh i knew exactly what it was that it is brutal the sunday scary is a real and then for me growing you know i knew it was Monday coming around because i heard the gunshots you know outside it's a cogita look i had to throw a fuck you it i had to throw a funny one out there because i was like oh i was like man uh what did i watch the tv really don't got me thing and i said okay well let's go with this but no

nah man it's back to business the gunshot they took the weekend off it's like it off hey look i look some people may not laugh at this or some people may be offended right now i don't think people understand they celebrate and give free food in Chicago when there's like not a like traffic accident and when no one is like when there's not a like a shooting or a death like it's pretty sad and i know i look at it i'm being serious like and it just it makes me sound like that's not something we celebrate like we don't right so we celebrate sitting at football we celebrate sports all these things anyway it's just you hold on run let me let the price and i can take you through let me well up price i take you through kind of the milk toast ups and downs of our suburban grow our our our suburban adolescents here in Utah you remember that 60 minutes thing oh i know that was brutal it was horrible then Ron comes in well all right well on that note we're gonna shift over here not not sure how to segue away from that well give you a quick say i

told the story my buddies my buddy told me growing up he's like i didn't i couldn't figure out why every Sunday night my dad would just be like a jerk on Sunday and he liked he'd get really moody and get like really you know just non approachable and grumpy i never got it then i grew up and i'm like oh i get it i don't want to know that's exactly why yeah that's that's that's spot right there Sunday nights anyway Friday we're enjoying our Friday here on a price and be a newtchy and we're gonna send you into the weekend the right way i first want to start off by mentioning we talked about this earlier in the program but couple of players coming back for Arizona tomorrow okay there was a court in junction pima county court temporary restraining order technically that is in place now that's going to allow two players running back in ismail moddy who led the team in rushing a season ago and linebacker max Harris who had a lot of tackles for Arizona they originally

ran out of eligibility after last season but now they've gotten a favorable ruling from a nice local Arizona judge and guess who's going to be on the field coming up tomorrow forever isona in this game so that's kind of a little bit of a twist of course they played against byu season to go byu you got the win but two more players you have to prepare for and it's it's Friday this came down yesterday like you don't have a lot of time to prepare for this now all of a sudden no you don't but i mean in the same breath if i'm going to be honest those guys haven't been practicing with the team up until now it's the same flip side for Arizona so the issue that we know that look look with a lot of stuff that goes on at college football you're probably right i wouldn't take that chance but look you know it's not like the 49ers where you got the tower anyway we're not going to that you know um you know all the stuff going on that's causing issues no maybe they're not but i think i think it's a if they haven't been or even if they have still to come in the snap count all of that is going to take time it's more of a issue for byu you know doubt when you return the

guy that has the lead in rusher but i i still think with the way byu use run defense is going to be you have keon and ton of awesome and just and Kirkland both and they only played in the first half they're going to be in the middle that's going to be the tough part you're going to have to really byu use linebackers i think will be the difference on defense in this game and how well they contain no of fafita but okay good the guys back you watched them last year bryslam tape you played against them that's fine yeah nothing change all you do is pull that tape and you make simple adjustments with that that's the only difference now i will say this this kid did put see all this air in the dirt he hit him with a uki duki you know as i say booboo and once it you know pretty much once at a house it was bad it was a highlight tape see all they got caught um again some b8 fans may think this is rude that's why they went and got the kade luavie because they don't want no more uki duki's happen it look i say it because i was in i was into son and i saw it and i really reacting the box about i went ooh like i hit because the way it looked above and then when i went and watched on the broadcast that yeah that was dirty that's pretty bad but it look overall air is on a

neat this guy back it helps their offense right if you want no of a feat of the air the ball out the way you need you need a good run game this allows him to do it so good job did you enjoy two son last year because yesterday we were debating the best cities to travel to in the big 12 did you like did you like two son over over tempi or calrato because you've been a boulder you've been different places i will not speak about tempi on record i would speak about that uh off record stepi it'd be it'd be rockin that's all i could say i didn't go out but i just look this is the reason why he's on the stage of partying just go out i saved it face over here okay just cuz i go out to eat like dinner i've been out with you You guys don't do that. Don't try to get just cut and sent to Emily. Don't do that. Stop trying to misrepresent me on the air. I was raised in the Bible in my room. Okay, hold up. I lose a marry out there. Look, I'm more married here. Okay, I got a dope covenant out there. Let's speak into that. But I ain't doing that.

I'm out, but I ain't outside. Like this is clear. If I, because you guys not like the eats, I like the food. But no, I think the, it's tougher. I did like Tucson. I did like Tempe. I've been to Boulder. Boulder's been nice. It's tough to beat Orlando though. It's really tough to beat Orlando, guys. They really are shocked by that. The bounce house is nice. The pop torts, but it's just tough, right? I've been down there with good weather. It's so tough. I golfed with my grandpa. Like that's tough, man. Like that's really tough to beat. You know, but I mean, I think Jeroel for the Big 12 championship also was good. We were there like that felt nice to. Yeah. I'll go to TCU this year, so that'll be interesting. So it's tough. I'll give you an official ranking at the end. Maybe not at the end, because I still got to go out to Manhattan, the Kansas. But I think next year, I will visit it all the Big 12 places. And I can give you an official like list of what it is. But all those places are nice. I would rank probably though, you know, Orlando the best. And I probably go a Tempe next and then I'll go. Eras on the state of the Boulder.

Listen, I'm doing Boulder. I'll tell you what. Not a lot beats the little apple of Manhattan, Kansas. See, we all have, it's very funny. We all have different opinions on this. And I love it that we do. That's fun. I loved Boulder. See, he loves Boulder. I need to go to Boulder. I've been to Denver. I just have not been to Boulder specifically on the campus. Don't go to four columns. I've gone through four. I'm going in the week. Yeah, I'm going next week. That's what say don't go. Remember I played rugby at BYU, so we went there to play. So I've been on that campus. Do you ever play, you ever play Cal in rugby? We did. You go to Berkeley. We do go to Berkeley. Okay, so Berkeley and Boulder have a similar- They do. Which is probably California better. Would have Stanford did totally different vibe. Really? Stanford did play rugby against Stanford. Stanford. What are the Cal kids called Stanford Kids Nerds? For sure. They're all nerds. They're all nerds. Stop it. That's what I'm saying. Cal. But do they think that the Stanford kids are even bigger nerds than they are? Absolutely. Yes. Not even. I mean, Andrew Luck and Christian McCalfellen guys that were all Pac-12. First round, Pics and what, they got an accounting degree.

You know, in four years. They're trying to Andrew Luck is a book. A book, no. Exactly. Exactly. I don't know what degrees they got. They're making fun because they're smart. You're using like architects, you're just like civil engineer. Something crazy. See, this is what I'd be talking about. Just, how are you able to do that? Who blessed your brain with the ability to be able to do that? I can't even figure out damn nerds. Do I have hands too? Nerds and jocks. Damn nerds. YARDS! That's a great quote. He got me. No, but yeah, look, there's some great cities though. I think like Jordan loves Boulder, right? You know, it's great. I think that's the way it makes the Big 12 conference so amazing is because of that. And the best part about it is when you get to November, December, you're not freezing your ass off. And I think Jordan would like to, if you want to come back to my part of town, Big 10 Country, dog, we're going to need coats, gloves, hats, heaters, it's freezing out there once you get the Michigan, you know, Illinois all over, you know, the Big 10. Yeah. That was nice about Dallas. Dallas, Dallas is weather, I'm not a huge fan of, but it was mild.

No cold. No, I mean, no coat. We didn't wear a coat. Yeah. Berkeley Boulder similar kind of vibe. Palo Alto is just immaculate and there's not much for college town vibe. I like Morgan town. You are a big fan of Morgan town of Washington. I'm up top. It is beautiful out there. I can't lie. It is beautiful. I can't. And I think that what makes it so beautiful is you have to go from Pittsburgh to down to it. I think that's what makes it so amazing. It's one of the look. Look, you want to talk about iconic places to play besides obviously Vell, probably Morgan town. I'm going to be honest. I like it. Quickly the slate of big 12 games across the country later on tonight. Missouri takes on Kansas 6 p.m. on Fox in Lawrence, Kansas. Missouri favorite in that one on the road. Do we feel like Kansas can pull it off at home though? That's tough right last year. They did it. They did the best that they could with Jalen down. So by the way, he's could be too down there for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, right? Making something out of nothing. They can pull it off. I don't think that they will.

I think Missouri does go in there and gets it done. This is a tough one. Right. This is the home and home. If they had Jalen Daniels, Bryce, yeah, no doubt. I think they would have gotten it, but no, I'm going to take Missouri in this one. I think Kansas false. That's one of the important big 12 SEC matchups that I think the big 12 legitimately has a chance to be able to win that football game. Well, that's a rivalry game. It is. It is. Place is going to be rocking. Yeah. They I don't for yeah, people that haven't experienced that order wore they hate each other. I mean, that that was such a bummer when that went away. I'm glad they're playing. I was at Arrowhead Stadium when BYU played Missouri that one year. Wow. When Gary Pinkle the night before announced that he had cancer, everybody was all behind him. I can't tell you how annoying Missouri fans are. Every single first down the announcer goes into the microphone goes, M-I-Z and all the fans go, Z-O-U every single time and it gets really annoying. Not only that, the whole thing, just very annoying, although the stadium was cool.

That's fun to be in Kansas City, Missile Poggy. BYU should have won that game, by the way, but it is a while ago. Was that 20 probably 2015, 2014 somewhere there? Keep it simple. Just do that BYU and that's a good for another Kougaer first down a people move on. Simple to the point. Anyway, other games across the big 12 really important this weekend. I think Oklahoma State probably does not have any chance against Oregon. So we'll just skip right over that Arizona State and Texas A&M double digit dogs are the Arizona State Sun Devils as they go into Kyle Field to call it, states any chance Arizona State could knock off called Texas A&M. Probably not, but boy, that I would love that for Arizona State. That would be a great, great win. That would be great for the big 12. I think they'll be competitive for a little bit in that game. No doubt, but no, it's not happening. Do we learn anything about Texas Tech when they take on Oregon State tomorrow? And if they really struggle, yes, otherwise, no. Yeah, they're 25 and a half point favorites there. Iowa State and Iowa any chance Iowa State can pull it off.

No. Is it going to be a brutal weekend for the big 12? Is that what we're going to be a blood like BYU and Utah might carry the torch this weekend? Freakin Utah loses to Arkansas. Then it's going to be a real bad weekend Utah and Arkansas and 815 PM kickoff. How we feel about that one? I feel good for you. I feel good about Utah. I should win. I got Utah win this game by two touchdowns. They should. They should. Yes. Feeling that Utah might win, but they might not cover. I mean, doesn't matter. You still won. You still win, but you win by 10 instead of 14, like you should have. I don't know. I don't know. If you have the first year of coach, chop it up. SEC team coming in. If you had them covering it matters. That's right. That's true. Did you have a seat that you got a cut? No. That they're going to cover. She said, I'm on cover, but they're going to cover. It was very clever of her. OK, interesting. Is that how they get more people for money? Beauty and brains. Yeah. OK.

No, God, I'm going to be at this game coming up tomorrow. I'm getting out of an airplane. You are. And I will be at this game tomorrow. UCF and Pittsburgh. I'll send a picture, put it out on the clear to y'all. What do we feel about that? UCF should win that one, but they're seven point dogs. Oh, man. I think Scott Frost does what he's supposed to. I'm giving you. UCF. Yeah. I'll take you. I'll take you. I'm going to upset Colorado. Stop it. I'm rooting for you. I want to be on that. I want the big 12 to do well. But am I rooting for Weber State? Absolutely. Yes. Of course. A little bit. No. I need to bake 12 of the winners. We were staking. OK. He's a company man. Company man. I've always been a company man. I was probably. Devon. I don't know that Devon Browns could be playing in that football game. That's what I think it's Dali from Cash Valley. I think it's the Dali kid that just came in. Yeah. Two touchdowns. One interception against Sessu. I don't know. What time is that game? One 30 as well. So at the same time as BYU Arizona and UCF pit. All right. So maybe I'll keep an eye on that one too.

All right. Ron, appreciate you coming in studio with us. Thank you. Well, you're not getting off the hook that easy. What's going on here? BYU Arizona. Who you got? I need to know. I got BYU. OK. BYU is going to win this football game. OK. That's all I need to know. You know, what I just got it. I'll cover two. Seven seven and a half to pay on where it closes. Yeah. BYU will win in cover. Yeah. I have people you're winning this. And I have as of our Bryce is right earlier covering. Yeah. OK. OK. There it is. I'm 10. I'm with you. I think. Yeah. I just I don't see him beating Arizona by 10. Like I just think with how PO they're going to be and how I think skilled Noa Fafidious. He's going to do some uncrazy thinkable things. But I think the defense will stop him any and though. All right. There you have it. I think it's going to be a good game overall. But BYU will come out with the win. And I think they will cover. Also. Give me 3424 BYU. All right. There you have it. All right. We will take a break. This time we'll be back on a Monday edition. J.T. Wister-Sill Brian Logan recapping everything in our big 12 hour as we do every single Monday morning.
