And they can't hear us say that. That's true. Maybe when we come back we can scold them. But right now it is time for the Word of the Day. He heard me with his words. The Word of the Day.
Matt, today's Word of the Day is Cajun. The University of Louisiana at La Fiat. Now known as the University of Louisiana. Also used to be known as South Western Louisiana. They are in the Sun Belt. They will be here on Saturday night. Taken on the USC Trojans, Lincoln Riley's Super Freshman Football Team. So good. They look pretty good against Fresno. Fresno looking to bounce back this week. Against. Sac State. Okay. The Hornets. The Hornets. I'm okay. I got it. You got it. They're going to be here on this Saturday though. Louisiana. Well you saw what San Jose State did Eastern Michigan. Now there are no pushover. That's what you got to treat them. That's the Lanny. Right? It's the Lanny. What? It is. So what they always say.
They have to be away. They have to break that thing with the. You know, Ipsilani is. Well they had that guy. Joey Chestnut was with them behind them. San Jose State. They had the eating guy. He's a San Jose grad. So they had his inspiration. But then Ipsilani comes the other way. And they break up the wall of Cinder blocks with hammers to take the field. And it's intimidating. Okay. That's concrete right there. What's that? How do you pronounce it? I couldn't pronounce it over the weekend. I was doing a scoreboard update. I'm like, Duh! It's the latest MISC. He's a Michigan at home today. It's basically the Parna Ann Arbor that Ann Arbor is like, F, those people. But the head coach at Louisiana, you'll be happy to know Matt, the last four letters of his name, or E-A-U-X. As it should be. Their head coach, Michael Dessourmo. Oh, Dessourmo. He's one of the all time Cajun great quarterbacks from New IP. Jack Watkins. Great Quarterbacks from New Iberia, Louisiana, just like the great detective character from the James Lee Burke novels, Dave Robachole. Just like that.
New Iberia. He coached high school football and then he caught on with his alma mater, the Cajuns and now coach Disor Moul is the head guy for Louisiana. Yeah, even more interesting is their old mascot, the anthropomorphic red pepper cayenne. Now back in the early days of the Louisiana Lafayette, they had a bulldog as their mascot and then the fabulous Cajun chicken, which was a knockoff San Diego chicken. Okay. From 82 to 99. Everybody wanted a piece of the chicken. Inspired by Ted Giannullus, the great San Diego chicken. A chicken like mascot. What were you doing? And since 2000, Cajan, the pepper was introduced, but sadly, Matt, you know, peppers became very popular hot sauce became very popular. The New Mexico ghost peppers. So I can see why they made that shift kind of like the wrappers of Toronto during the Jurassic Park. Period. He's been retired. Cajan, the pepper mascot. What? No more humanoid hot
pepper. What are you talking about? Yeah, I looked this up today and I'm equally as obsessed. How long ago was this? Like at least nine years ago. Wait a minute, what? Due to the high costume replacement cost and budget issues. They can't afford a felt headed mascot. There is a movement to revive Cajan to spice up Cajun country again. I would assume a go fund me can buy a Cajun costume. How much can it be? So I've been pumping up Cajan, the Cajan mascot and he ain't coming. Did you get tipped off? No, I looked it up today. It'd be like, where's Cajan? Let's talk about it. Right. Is he making the trip? No. The Cajans did beat the crack crap out of Lama. And the crack last week if Cajan, it's called Cajan field at our lady of Lord's Stadium. That checks out. But terrible news. Cajan, the pepper mascot is not coming for USC to beat
the Cajans 60 to nothing this week. He doesn't exist anymore. And people are going to be like, God, did you see USC? It's like, okay, yeah, let's give me weight. Very exciting. That Bowman now, they got themselves real tight in the waifle. Oh, waifle. They got that side looks like Joey Bose out there with those long levers, you know? Yeah, leverage. I mean, I remember USC beating up on teams like Fresno and San Jose and that everybody used to get super geeked and then we'd lose six. But that won't happen with this. No, no, no, no, no. Not when you're going to Piscataway to take on a team that lost a UMass. It's just a scat away. It's just a scat away. B C and Rutgers going head to head this week after incredibly disappointing losses in week one. Hey, only one will emerge. That was really said it best. You asked me at the end of the season. We get 12 chances. That's right. You do, Devo. We'll be back. Well, maybe not or no. It's time for the number of the day. Whatever. Sorry. Number. So late. Here's my number. Number. Number.
The number of days to as in repeat as in recidivism. I, um, P you talked about this regularly when USC was sanctioned and settled with crippling sanctions. You know, a lot of people don't know this, but the Louisiana La Fiat basketball program. I've got the death penalty. Is that what you're like? Errogance, hubris, Mike Garrett, Pete Carroll. Yeah. When they were in their showdown with the NC two A. I mid the Reggie Bush scandal. Yeah. Different time is a different time. Admit, apologize, self-sanction, take the minimum punishment, let your fan base defend you to the death. Instead, they obstruct, they ignore, they deny, they argue, they spread outrage. And that's how you get screwed. Well, breaking news about the clippers, the investigation, which if you read the summary has them dead to rights, evidence is overwhelming that they cheated the salary cap. Could have avoided losing five first round picks,
a $30 million fine, a one year suspension for their owner and the benevolent Gillian Zucker. Booh. Only Balmer didn't want to cooperate. Really? Oh, he didn't want to wear it. He wanted to fight. And that is the problem. Billionaires have the best lawyers. They've got the most money to spend. And because lawyers are an unscrupulous breed, they just take the biggest check. What's right, what's true? Be damned and figure they're going to win. Our lawyers are better than yours. They'll lie there, ask off. Will lie, our last, ask off. And the lawyers will make it all make sense in the courts. Well, Steve Balmer could not hire the best lawyers to take down the NBA reportedly. And we know Pablo Tori investigates and finds out or whatever the name of his podcast is, is a viable source because it was in the summary in the first two sentences that per that podcast, that is what opened the NBA
investigation. Tori shared today that the NBA was offering him a deal. Just hey, let's try to cut this thing short. You kind of admit that you did something wrong. I mean, why wouldn't they, why wouldn't he want to do that? And why wouldn't that be advantageous for the NBA with their richest owner? And that's why that's what they tried to do. So he's fighting now. He's fighting the vampire now. Yeah. Well, that's why you got the five first round picks, the year suspension, because he wouldn't take the deal six months ago when they offered it to him. He's Dr. Van Helsing. Yeah. He's fighting with Dracula. Exactly. Right. Here's the deal. Here's what we have on you, Steve. Take a look at it. And how about you just make this easy on us and we'll, you know, the first round pick here, 10 million bucks there. There's more of an excuse for, there's more of an excuse for Steve Balmer because he's a billionaire. Right. And he's got the, he can just, I mean, there was for Pete Carroll back in the day. Yes. They are jealous of USC and all that we have. That is why they are coming after us. I think they know that dude got a house. It's actually
why they're coming after you. It's because of the lack of institutional control, which I would point out in the door, dash ad that everybody seems to find humorous that Reggie Bush is in a house laughing about it. And maybe a little insensitive considering the three years afterwards and what those things. Okay, all the USC football players that got screwed because of him after he was long gone. It's a long platform that I've held, but no one's ever accused Reggie Bush of being a good guy. But hey, not around these parts. Do the door, dash ad with Lane Kiff and enjoy yourself. You're still a douche, both of you. I hope your check cash is you douche bags. Time for the song of the day. I heard it was just trade. It's just a free door. The stereo MCs are an English electronic group from just outside of London with our song of the day called Connected. Because today the Petros and Money Show is connected to Craig Robbins and his fancy state of the art rig for a live remote broadcast from Uniclo Field at Dodger Stadium.
Where Gora 8 Sports Talk is taken over the AM 570 Dodger Suite tonight. Taking advantage of the control climate temperatures along with the other accoutrements of said suite. The darks that are portable downstairs, I think I'm the leavers born in the 5th and which is 67. What?
What's the fan like? What's the fan like? Patros and Money, AM570 LA Sports live everywhere. On the iHeart Radio app, Dodgers Reds, Yamamoto on the mound trying to extend their win streak to 7. We have Chargers Cardinals, the kickoff of the NFL season on our sister station KFI AM6 40 on Sunday. That is a 125 PM kick. We are enjoying at the cost of Dodgers Stadium and really the iHeart Radio folks who pay for the suite we are in. Even though the Dodgers on half the station. Climate controlled environment, 71 degrees in our suite right now, it is 105 outside. In the shade. In the shade. Reload. In the shade. David Bassay is our guest. The Dodgers. With an inside look at the Dodgers, this is the Vassy report with David Vassy. Hot dog knows, Dave Vassy. Did you have the Dodger dog?
I guess I ate it fast. Put some nacho cheese on that. I thought he shoved it up as nostril the way he enailed that. David Vassy. I don't know why that would be fast, but I can put that out. Who laughed at that shit? Spectrum Sports Net LA MLB Network at our station. David Vassy, Romeo and jeans today walking in like a rooster. The Dodgers on a win streak. Oh, who's the best lefty in the staff now? Who is the best lefty in this rotation? I think we know. Let me walk in like a rooster. I am styling seven innings nine strikeouts winning game one. Who says strikeouts like that? Yeah. Strikeouts. Punchies. Punchies. There you go. Punchies. Well, the lineup looks weird tonight. What the hell's going on, Dave? Well, show Hey, Otony. Dave Roberts said they finally got a hold of him and told me care, play for a while. No, they just told them today. They told them today. I mean,
look, Otony's driving a lot of this and the Dodgers have done this with other great players. I click and curse. They they trust and give these guys a level of respect that sometimes, you know, some would say you got to reel them in. But Otony obviously doesn't want to go on the IL or he would have gone on the IL. He's now missed his what six game in his last seven days. Dave Roberts said the game that he played on Monday night. A swing didn't feel right. Yeah, of course. Maybe he shouldn't have played that game. But obviously with the day off tomorrow, I think it's a smart move to have him sit today and get it going again in Miami. And now Freddie Freeman yesterday, he was fine. DH fine. Today out of the lineup, not fine. Right knee barking. What happened? I guess his right knee is barking. And look, he has a bum wheel with the right ankle that he had surgery on. I in Denver. He may have tweaked that. So obviously, there's residual effects and some days when you're 36, five days away from 37, you're going to
feel better than other days. Yeah, Freddie Freeman's birthday, September 12th, he'll turn 37. Look at that. And yet, and yet the Dodgers are on a six game win streak. The longest of the season, looking to make it seven tonight with Yamamoto on the mound. I believe glass now is tomorrow. Snels tomorrow, right Friday Friday. So glass now tomorrow. Snels on. No, there's a day off tomorrow. Off day Dodger talk. That's right. For Tim Kates. I'll be traveling to Miami tomorrow. So what is, why are they winning these games? Because the teams are playing stink or is it pitching or you haven't, you haven't mentioned Teosca Hernandez. What or is it the hot hitting of Tommy? Yeah. I think it's a combination of everything. The bullpen has started to get the outside. They need to get you saw two nights ago. Evan Phillips closing out the game first saves since last May. And you had Alex Vesia come in with the bases loaded two outs, strikes out JJ Blade to preserve the win for Emmett Shean. So it's a combination of timely hitting Teosca Hernandez
looking like Teosca Hernandez again. And Tommy Edmund being the spark at the top of the order. And then you had Mookie Betts hit a go ahead three run home run. So timely hitting the bullpen. And obviously this starting staff goes without saying you know you're going to get at least six great innings from these guys pitching a lot of times can be preference. You know what kind of pitcher do you like watching? I love watching Yamamoto pitch. It's really entertaining. So does Snowzilla. See I can't I like watching snow, but I don't know what it is. It's there's just something there that doesn't as he's friends with you. You don't like greatness. I love greatness. But watching scuba last night. Kate's was everything I say today. It was it was electric man. Scubal felt a lot more electric last night. Did you feel that way? No, I felt numbness numbness. No, really, I didn't think he was electric last night. I think what we're starting to appreciate about scuba is that he grinds through
starts even when he doesn't have his best stuff. Last night only five strikeouts, but he was able to be efficient and only throw 94 pitches and get into the eighth inning. That was my greatest appreciation of what he did last night. And I actually talked to him earlier today before I came up here and I said, you know what? You weren't that good last night. What do you say? He said, yeah, you're right. I wasn't that good. But I said the one thing people don't realize is that you don't just talent your way through starts. You're actually grinding and battling through starts. And he said, yeah, people that don't know baseball don't realize it. So don't try to explain it to him, Dave. So does that mean I really appreciate it? No, I mean, well, you thought he was electric. I just thought it was great to like it. It seemed like anything he got into. He managed to get out of there's like a 98 four seamer coming in at some point. I'm like, damn, this guy has just got it going. He's I mean, he's really good. But I still don't believe we've seen the best of him. And I don't believe he sees that the Dodgers have seen the best of him,
which is a great side because the floor is pretty high. Speaking of that, Ellie Dela Cruz is having a pretty good year. Right, Dave. Did you run it? Yeah, he's pretty he's still a great player. Did you guys catch the game last night? Nothing was in front of us that dude down at 105. Yeah, it was Teosca Hernandez. He was going for the inside the park home run. As he should have. And Red's PR actually told me my guy Larry said they actually adjusted the velocity on the throw. It was 105 last night. Now they say it was only at 102. And can you believe this? I found out today only 10 outfielders outfielders have thrown have made throws like that over 100 miles an hour. Only 10 this year. Ellie Dela Cruz is a short stop. He had the wherewithal to go out to center field and be the relay guy and make 102 mile an hour relay throw to the plate. And it was pretty
damn accurate on the third base side of home plate. Yeah, I mean, and then he hits. Dunston desk, Dave. Great, great call. Great call. Great host. And and Ellie Dela Cruz, 444 foot home run off a tariff school. Last night. Yeah, I mean, Dodger fans want Ellie Dela Cruz to be a Dodger. And he's well aware of that. But he's happy where he is at right now. Did you talk to him? I did. He's going to be heard on the Dodger pregame show and Dodger talk because Dodger fans were calling last night saying that Ellie another reason why he wants to be a Dodger is that he said he's learning Japanese to speak to show. Hey, so here tonight at 625, what Ellie Dela Cruz has learned in Japanese. Pretty impressive, Dave. It seems like whatever the Dodgers want, the Dodgers kid. He's not a free agent until 2030. That'll change though with the new CBA. Guys will be able to hit free agents
in exchange for salary. So it all works out. Tanner Scott last night on the mound and you mentioned Evan Phillips the other night with a perfect night. I know Tanner had the walk to start it off with then three straight. How much of that is Will Smith and just the chemistry there between Cam and Tanner and him and Evan Phillips. Great call because I feel like where Will Smith is showing up is late in games. The starters are the starters. We saw Ben Rortfig catch those guys. But where Will Smith's coming presence and confidence not just in himself, but the pitcher's confidence in him is showing up late in the games with the relievers. It just seems to be a lot smoother with Will Smith behind the plate in Fadoosha who's behind the plate tonight. Done a nice job as well. So that's the catching situation those two now. Yeah, day on day off, day on day off until Will can can find the wherewithal to catch back to back games. All right, Dave. Thank you, Dave. Hey, thank you guys. I feel like we should have done this outside.
No, Dave. Are you going to go down there at all today? No, not even not. Dodger's batting practice was canceled today. So you didn't go down there. I did. I was down there. That's right. Was anyone down there? We looked down and all I saw was that chick that Dave we used to date. It was it was the and can you believe Scooble did an interview with her? Did he really? Yeah, Scooble. Yeah, and then he could even get him on today and then another blogger ambushed him and he did a blog. Two bloggers and the same day in the dugout. He's like the nicest guy ever. Hey, Kate, you got to be in the dugout. Get your top one percenters down there. No, never too hot. He can come to us. Thank you, Dave. Thank you guys. One another, Dodger, Doug. I'm going to wait till you. How's the Ionic 9 in this heat? Oh, riding like a champion. That air conditioner on the seat next level. Thanks to Downey Hyundai. Downey Hyundai. My guy Sam, he really hooked it up. And last night when I was leaving the stadium, there were some beat riders that were leaving that at the same time. They were they were in
awe of my Ionic 9 from Downey Hyundai. Yeah, I said, hey, next time, park 10 feet behind me. You're a little too close. Yeah, a little too close to my downey. That's right. Don't breathe on it, baby. Back up, Jack Harris. Yeah. We'll be back with more Paterson money on AM570LA Sports Your Home of the Dodgers. That's all right. I got a couple of texts. For those of you listening on AM 570. Oh, listening like thieves. Remember, you can always hear the Pat Rozen Muddys show anywhere in the world for free on the I heart radio app. We stream it live. It's a great way to listen. A great way to listen. All you need is a smart device. And you can podcast it later. You can podcast anything you miss later. You miss perhaps oral herchizer, no more Garciapara, David Vasse in the very last segment. So download the app and use it like a preset. Put AM 570 LA sports right there when you open the app.
It's like a radio station preset button, but like five of them there. Make us one of them and that way you never miss a moment of the Pat Rozen Muddys show. I got a couple of texts for your Matt just to clear your palette. The next time. Brought to you by your SoCal Toyota dealers. We make it easy. Friends of Wanker and a clown. Hold on. I thought that would be a good text to start with because now we have a bunch of Wankovs. Yeah, I'm ****ing clowns here. Wankoffs and clowns. Oral herchizer is so cool. He did all the things he did in life and he also suffers from psoriasis. Isn't that the tree? We all have an El Guapo in our lives. For some of you so like the wind. It's some of you. It may be fear of a pool or a trip to Miami. Whatever it is, you got to conquer it just like the great oral herchizer.
David side part, no less. Beautiful. Knocked out that psoriasis with a side part. David Vase knows as much about baseball as a heifer as a heifer in the prairie. Pretty good. He has to he's one to talk. What a cheerleader. Wow, Dave, you got attacked by that guy. A lot of the text today. That's fair. A lot of the texts are just about the terrestrial signal, but it's back. It's back. And if you lost the Petros and Money Show because you were listening to restrily again on your smart device, download the iHeart radio app, make AM570 LH Sports a preset and you can listen to us literally anywhere in the world, anywhere at work, Dave. You're good. Can I ask you a question, technical question, since you were off terrestrial radio? Are you a heifer in the prairie or are you dealing with it? It's like a big fact. I know what a heifer is. I've seen a few of those. They should change the name of this show to have for him money.
Anyway, were you on 104.3 HD 2 when you were off AM570? That's a great question. You were on. You were on. Are we on? 4.3? Are we 98? 7? 2? No, not anymore. You're 104.3 HD 2. That's great information. That's the stream feed so you could have directed people to that as well. So you're telling me technically were radio station mates with the great Valentine? That's right. Oh, pretty awesome. You don't know Val. You used to be a cop. You used to be a cop. You didn't know that? You used to be a cop. You used to be a cop. That guy? Yeah, he was a Boston cop. Yeah, I know he's Mr. Boston. He put your face right on the hood. The hot hood, that's right. Oh, he'd have you in the freight. You saved it. He'd send you to ice. Pepper Papadacus. I'll send you back to the prairie. I changed my name to Pepper Papadacus in 2026. Thank you, Dave. Have a great night. You're welcome. 1.04.3 HD 2. Amit Shea and on the pregame or Ellie Dela Cruz are both both.
Whoa. Sorry. I'll leave the fan stuff for another day. Yeah, say the fan has for after the game. Okay. We'll be doing it. But I know game. That's not how I sent it. I know game. I used to have to say that's what game said. Right? I don't care. Save it for after the game, pal. That's five foot two. That's the worst party. It's five foot two. Right. We hope you're having a wonderful evening. You're probably not. It's really hot and everything sucks. But but either way, the the the terrestrial signal is back. So the Dodgers are winning six in a row. You know, maybe seven tonight. Yeah, that's good. But what about on his knee? Dave's going to sell Ellie Dela Cruz on taking his place, moving forward. I say, said Freddie Freeman was okay. And now his knees barked like a sped. He was okay when I asked him yesterday. I said, Hey, don't worry about it. I got a tweet from a listener. David here in La Habra, there's just static on the Am 570 radio signal in my car. But I can get all of their Am stations. Yeah.
Yeah. It's fixed. Can you shit any light on what's happening? I think heifer Papadake is just dead. The signal is back. Okay. The transmitter has returned. One of my big cow methane farts knocked our signal off the air. We'll be back with more petriot said, buddy, go away. Either enjoy the air conditioner or leave.
