A top Trump official has just resigned in protest of Donald Trump's war in Iran.

A stunning morning right now as Joe Kent, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center,

who was appointed by Donald Trump as a MAGA ally under Tulsi Gabbard, the director of National Intelligence,

says he is stepping down from his position as a director of the National Counterterrorism Center.

In protest of what Donald Trump is doing in Iran claiming that Israel has dragged the United States into another forever war in the Middle East.

And it comes as Donald Trump is facing major pushback for claiming that he spoke to a former president regarding strikes in Iran.

When the truth is, it looks as though Trump may not have spoken to any former president or at least maybe the former president he's claiming he spoke to is himself major developments right now.

The director of National Counterterrorism Center says, quote, Mr. President, President Trump, after much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as director of the National Counterterrorism effective today.

I cannot in good conscious support the ongoing war in Iran.

Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby likely referring to APEC.

I support the values in the foreign policies that you campaigned on in 2016, 2020, 2024, which you enacted in your first term until June of 2025.

You understood that the wars in the Middle East were a trap that robbed our nation or robbed America of the precious lives of our patriots and depleted the wealth and prosperity of our nation.

In your first administration, you understood better than any modern president, how to decisively apply military power without getting us drawn into never ending war.

You demonstrated this by killing Qasam Soleimani and by defeating ISIS.

Early in this administration, high ranking Israeli officials and influential members of the America first media deployed a misinformation campaign that wholly undermined your America first platform and sowed pro war sentiments to encourage a war with Iran.

This echo chamber was used to deceive you into believing that Iran posed an imminent threat to the United States and that you should strike now.

There was a clear path to a swift victory.

That was a lie and is the same tactic the Israelis used to draw us into the disastrous Iraq war that cost our nation the lives of thousands of our best men and women.

We cannot make this mistake again as a veteran who deployed to combat 11 times and as a gold star husband who lost my beloved wife Shannon to a war manufactured by Israel.

I cannot I cannot he says support sending the next generation off to fight to die in a war that serves no benefit to the American people nor justifies the cost of American lives.

I pray that you will reflect upon what we are doing in Iran and who we are doing it for the time for bold action is now you can reverse course and chart a new path for a nation or you can allow us to slip further toward declining chaos.

You hold the cards. It was an honor to serve you in your administration and to serve our great nation and this isn't just some regular career appointee who's resigning.

This is someone Donald Trump appointed himself.

Joe continues to honor her legacy by staying in the fight Joe will help keep us safe by eradicating all terrorism from the jihadist around the world to the cartels in our backyards.

And we told the president that they did not believe the missile that struck the school was a munition used by the United States because the fins appeared to be positioned too low for it to be a Tomahawk cruise missile.

Within 24 hours the CIA realized that early assessment had been wrong after became clear from additional videos taken at other angles that the missile was in fact a Tomahawk.

He already settled on the explanation that Iran was responsible for the strike before he raised it to Air Force one reporters Trump repeated his position at a news conference the following day while he appeared to accept the missile that struck the school was a Tomahawk he said that it belonged to Iran.

And as one former CIA officer says quote giving Trump preliminary information is dangerous because he could turn it into total embarrassment.
