Welcome everybody to running strong mind, welcome everybody to running strong mind,
I'm so excited to have you on this show, today I have a wonderful guest show, today I have a wonderful guest show,
and her story is going to be a fun, her story is going to be a fun thing for us all to be a non-runner because she went from the surgery to now being a Marathoner and inspired by this whole journey that she's going to share with us today.
Thank you so much for having me here today, and thank you so much for having me here today.
You talked about about not being a runner and that journey to there, so what happened in your life?
Amazing, I'm not sure about amazing, but thank you so much for that amazing, I did not run running strong mind.
I did short sentences and I thought the short sentences, and I thought the people who did were just crazy, I never understood that, and I just said, I don't want to sit down.
I don't want to sit down, I never knew.
I'm exercising, I did already, I loved it, and other types of it was black activity, but in other cases it's black activity, but what's interesting is what's interesting is what's interesting.
My late 20s, when I watched a documentary on Marathon.
So this was a documentary?
Yes, it was called The Spirit of Marathon.
Yes, it was called The Spirit of Marathon.
And it follows running the Chicago Marathon, so you have a professional runner.
Running the Chicago Marathon, so you have a professional runner and you never done that before, and so it was really inspiring.
I had surgery a year, and a lot of books, reading a lot of books, and documentaries, and documentaries.
I was so inspired by that.
I was so inspired by that.
I got home from work, my now ex-husband got home from work.
I said, and he was like, he was fine.
And he was like, what do you think about?
So it just kind of like really stirred me on, even started running.
And I started, I started running, and I started from order of books to Marathon, and how to go about that to Marathon.
No idea.
And now, there's no idea.
And now I'm running this way, and I've done it the right way.
But I just read a book, and I've done it the right way.
But I just read a book, and I can't see what happens.
I love that.
I love that, and say that.
I don't want to say that too, but from my self-too, I got more in the side of my being stories.
I got in recycling, and then people's stories that really inspire us.
And that's why it really gets people to inspire us.
So that's what moving from being non-distroving, and outstanding, and outstanding.
Thank you.
I would agree with that.
The stories that I work with.
I would agree with that.
The stories that I watched.
You know that this woman, and I watched the other day's woman, and I've never been around before.
But every day watching her journey and running by before and watching her journey challenge myself, I'm going to challenge myself.
My plan was just to run one and done.
My plan was just to run one and done.
That was going to do that check.
No, it was a runner.
No, it was a runner.
It's a little addictive.
So one and done to have many and done so far.
So one and done to have many and be done so far.
And I've done 24 runs.
Nice, nice, nice.
So where, where?
Nice, nice, nice.
So where, where, what, what, well, I've only done two different routes.
I've only done two different routes.
It was my very first marathon was on infinux.
It was the rock and roll.
And flat.
It was, you had just a square, square, square, and that didn't have a lot of performance.
My second marathon was in New York City.
And my second one was in New York City, America.
I thought, nothing could be better me or Wes.
And so I have run the New York City Marathon and so I've run the New York city.
that's amazing, that's amazing.
I always said that about running,
especially the dark sea and especially the
to the surrounding, but that's the best way to surround life.
But that's the best way to see life.
Yes, really.
Yes.
Just run through.
Where are you located?
Just run through.
Where are you located?
OK.
So I get to train it.
I get to train it out.
So I get to train it when I go through life.
I get to train it out.
So that's where you can go to see life.
Exactly.
We have a house in five steps.
That's like 7,000.
We have a house in five.
Pretty fun to come back to Auburn.
So it's pretty fun to come back to Auburn area and just
go for Phoenix area and game.
I just feel so much faster.
So much faster.
That's pretty cool.
So that's pretty cool.
What's holding you back?
What's holding you back?
What's holding you back?
I'm taking it to the next level.
Like doing an ultramarital.
Honestly, it's not like doing an ultramarital.
I think I'm probably just too busy.
I think I own my own business.
And this is an ultramarital, my own business.
And that's always the most fun part.
I always feel like the marathon is the party.
The party, like the celebration, the award.
It's not the hard part.
It's the celebration.
It's not the hard part.
It's not the hard part.
It's really funny.
And also that is, I think that's really just what's been holding
you back.
They're finding the extra time to find the extra time to train.
Well, I own a, well, I own that has a special curative.
And so I work with your original speakers.
And so I work with professional speakers to conferences.
I also do them for myself.
I also do them for myself.
And I also do them for myself.
And I also do them for myself.
It's something I never thought I would be doing, but I love them.
It's something I never thought I would be doing, but I love them.
That's pretty cool.
So where do you reach out to?
That's pretty cool.
And so where do you reach out to?
What kind of speaking you offer to them?
Opportunities to you.
So, primarily what I focus on is what I focus on.
Professional development.
I work with professional development.
I work with already different corporations.
How to be a professional leader.
How to be a passionate leader.
And on all the speakers that I work with.
And on all the speakers that I want with.
They're amazing speakers.
They speak about so many different.
They're amazing speakers.
We have so many different topics.
So, AI and people who.
Business.
AI and you have speakers.
Who?
Business.
They talk about speakers.
One of my speakers.
They talk about, you see we saw my sister here.
Denver.
He loves to.
He's already back.
He's late and he was late.
He was already back.
And he was late.
A lot of different stories about that.
So, we did start here.
We did start here.
We did start here.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We expanded.
We have a good mindset, but in any type of running,
in any type of running, 80% mindset and 20%
so that 80% mindset can take you to that K,
which in my podcast, which in my,
this one podcast being posted before this one.
It's probably five miles longer.
It's probably five miles longer.
I know, I've even thought that after I've crossed it.
I know, I've even thought that after I've crossed
it, we can enjoy it at the Maritano.
All right, you can come down to the Maritano.
You can come down to the Maritano.
You should come down and run the Maritano.
Come to California and run that California.
It's great.
It's a pretty fun one.
It's great for the fun one.
I think the rock and roll,
I think the rock and roll,
probably it's got to have a few of your time.
If you're coming from Colorado.
Yeah, if you're coming from Colorado.
Flat.
Really?
Flat's good for something that,
you know, it's good for something that's
good for some reason.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
All right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I think daddy.
Did I see that sometimes are
different than I watch early New York like president?
Have you seen lots of wonderful,
but I see that sometimes.
Yeah.
I remember my first trail run, I remember my first trail run, and I made it the whole way, and I made it the whole way, and I was just right in the very purple, and I got just right to the finish line, that's when I flipped it out.
See the finish line, and that's when I flipped it out.
Congratulations!
Congratulations!
That's awesome!
That's awesome!
I do the same thing.
It's just that reminder.
It's like, it's just that reminder.
I know.
I think road running, I know, it's going to auto-coding.
I know it's just going to auto-coding.
I really had to be prepared for this.
But I love trail running.
We really had to train, and kids, but I love work's different.
We need a way for training because it works different.
We have to, and you're said she took this.
We have to, and she took this.
Which is really beneficial.
We're talking a lot about it, and not talking a lot about age.
We do that age at all. It really makes you do that in your mind trail. It really makes you do this thing
You know how trail running is one of the best things and so
You have some beautiful
out there to run you have to go up to go up to go up to go up to go up to go up to
I know yeah, I've done a couple of 14 years
I know yeah, I've done a couple 14 years
I can't run up them. I know you know hiking is you gotta breathe on too, right?
We got a breathe on
I've been up two of them. I was up Elberts. I've been up two of them. I was up Elberts and another one
So I don't think
Hundas is at 14. So I don't think
I don't think
I've been up one through around there. We're up 14. We're there two of them. That's amazing
Yeah, I've done the ledville 100. I think that you've done the ledville one. That's awesome. That's awesome
I know I actually in my they do I know I actually
said someone that I should think about it next year
So that I shouldn't think about it next year
Let's have you. Have you been up there?
So you do cycle. All right. Well, of course you do
So you do
Well, of course you do
Yeah, I've done just some
Yeah, I've done just some
Which are
Again, they're very challenging because they're using somebody else. They're very challenging. They're using some
Century right here in Denver and I've done a century right here in Denver and I've done a couple or three
I just love being outdoors
I just love being outdoors and it's so great where we have so much sunshine. It's fabulous
Boulder had the best iron man
Boulder had the best iron man
I love that
I don't love that
I don't normally do hats. There's only one two hats. I love doing it. There's only one two hats. I love now
They just took it down to just a half. Now they just took it down to just a half. But they're full iron man
I fun race. That was a great fun race. Yeah,
I've heard it's a great one more. So the best half iron man's is so the best half iron man's is
Salem, Oregon. My swim was a fast swim ever. My swim was a fast swim ever in my life. I'm horrible
My 1.2 is like 45 minutes. My 1.2 is my 1.2. Salem was my 1.2. Salem was
He does what I said. I'm like
I'm like wow
And that set me up for the whole day. And that set me up for the whole day. I had to be the best half iron man I ever had.
That tells you how mindset can be so important. It tells you how mindset can be so important throughout a whole life.
Really true. It's really true. So what's your best race you've done?
So what's your best race you've done? What's your favorite? What try? What's your favorite?
Well, there's one not that was here. There was one not that was here. I was just south of Denver.
And I mean I've never done or swim. I've never done it and I've never been in a whole other swim tho.
I've been pretty scared of catching my swim over the time, over the time.
All of it.
And I was a woman part and I was a white bird world and so that's always been the worst part for me so I really did have the worst part for me so I really do have to focus on you know my mindset during yeah, I just I don't know
I don't know I don't know I think I see you to sign up for another triathlon so many things you're inspiring so many things you're
so I know for me and I'm just I know for me and I'm just I'm intrigued with my body I'm intrigued with a half of our body I'm intrigued with a half of our body
survive I put my body through when back to back under my mind you know one week and the next week but I had enough and I had enough
to under me know what it was like so have a lean on the wood and I knew that race really well and then we had to log on my back door here and then we had to log on which is my back well here so I know you see how well and just see how we do that and how we do that and how our body feel and our body feel survived and our body feel just stuck and I put my body through a lot of stuff and when I was broken and when I was broken
let's see I've had I've had a personal right my life had my ankle and I do remember sitting at races and I do
by then I was sitting at race in that situation but then I go when I was in that situation that's the best place to still be involved and that's the best place to still be involved and I'd be at a hundred and I'd be sitting at a hundred and I'd be sitting at the
early way till I can feel like that I can feel like that I broke my foot running and I kept going I think I'll just end your friends and going at the end I was just a door friends and you know but at the end I was I was right but but there was
I was right before the turkey trot I always loved to do you know the trot and I always I couldn't do it but I wanted to do it but I couldn't because I wanted to do it but I
wanted to do it at it even though I was the same thing even though it was out there with the head I was like I just wish I was out there with them but you get injured you can get used to it it's still there and do what you can do I don't care
I don't care if they're in a break way and with that they're so happy to just give up I got that there's so many people who just give up I was like I'm not gonna break again to do this
it was yes and it was yes and that was I was going and then you're just a couple of years ago I was training just a couple of years ago I was training you're in it's just and you're out for a drink you're in it's like told you
yeah it's kind of clumsy I took over my own feet you know my own feet and I cut myself in my hand and I cut myself with my hand broke my wrist so yeah broke my wrist yeah so I continued to run with it you know but I
continued to run with it and we know I don't know so we're in the castle no what's dealing I can't even donate you know what you're doing I can't do an ATM being sold
in a sleeve and being sold but in the end when the race yeah and when the rate is it's mindset but it's it is it's mindset yeah
yeah mindset over everything it's 80% my mindset over everything it's 80% and so it's and so it's a tool I use so I
I tool I use this with people is the red light therapy is the red light there have you ever heard of that
yeah I ever heard of that so I have a link I love it and so I have a link a channel post and this will be a channel
so I'll post it on my YouTube channel this will be a link so I'll post it on my YouTube channel post a link and I had
sprayed my ankle and I had sprayed my ankle and I honestly and I honestly honestly what it was about me that I don't believe
that we're out searching for something I do believe that we're out searching for something it'll come into our
hell feeling it'll happen to our students so I got up and I've seen I've seen
stronger bones I've seen my ankle go from I've seen my ankle go from swelling to
and I use it now just for and I was using it now just for I was using it for review twice a day
religious day for I was running I did this for running April I had a great spring and I was running
and kept using the red light therapy and I kept using the red light there for here and now I just
use it for maintenance for here and now I have seen I know I had some bones it's strength in some bones and you know
the ankle and my right ankle the ankle my right ankle and a tennis ball you know bigger than a tennis ball
I've I've heard it I just I haven't heard any I've heard it I just I have any
I haven't heard any I haven't heard no test as I know so that's great to know because I know it's
right out and so that's it on whether or not that it's tried out so that's yeah I'll
put it in the chat I'll put it in the chat I'll put it in the chat I'm done so you can
get it out but that and I do that and I do and you know the body's gonna keep you because and you
are you had a teen and a teen have a broken bone you had a pain and the pain of a broken bone is painful
and do it's be it mild and do be it mild on a marathon or half marathon it was a
marathon or half it's still but still I mean that's true I mean it's painful but do you can you
paint back how you can you recall that back because your body responded that because your body into
this survival into this survival through it's gonna get you through and you can get through it's
it could hate you probably society to some pain probably society to some point did you run or
did you walk the road did you run or walk the road you know I remember I knew what I had it was on
you know I remember I knew it happened a road like like a road that had pavers on it like a really old
pavers on it and really old I just felt what had happened I thought it might have been sprained and I
thought it might have been running and yes again I just kept running and yes again like the
story it's a story it's a story again I know again I'm sorry I don't know again my mind said and then as soon as I
got the finish line and as soon as I run the finish line and then I just started running just
than a small picture that's just oh just a little pressure and that's when I'm like oh yeah
so I knew I knew I knew I was I knew I knew I was doing a fine race I was doing a hundred
mile right so the year I just finished I did a lead villain and watch that month I did
one and watch the first year of doing a grand slam and my first year of doing a grand spin
Ten miles is the race. They had this trail that was falling apart. They had this trail that
was falling apart. Lasted and I sprained my ankle, little bats, and I sprained my ankle really bad.
I don't remember if I heard a snap. I don't remember if I heard a snap. I don't think I did.
But I knew what I did. But I knew it hurt. And the guy that was running with me, my friend,
and the guy that was running back, my friend, he was running, she was 10th at the back and
she was going to finish his 10th climb. I was going to rinse them and we were helping each other go through
the shaman and we were helping each other go through the cosas, and you could go through them,
and you could talk toΡΡton to them? Now you might as well try to spam my few things.
My friend comes back to me, and he's like, I know he's bringing with a tough person I ever know.
So he helped me, we had to climb up this trail. And it climbed the top of this trail.
And it was the rocks and I'm just able to go to him and I'm just
riding on hard and I'm out there trying to bring my heart.
I can remember getting to that point.
But I can remember getting to that point and I said,
all this horrible time, I found this and I said,
I'll just hobble down.
I found this right and get down the mountain by myself.
To not hurt and get down the mountain by myself.
Pick me up and ask some of the people.
It was really weird how the body will want to do.
It was really weird how the body will want to do.
It will do whatever it takes to get to that point.
It will do whatever it takes to get to that point.
And so I know that wasn't feeling anything.
But then after that, I knew I wasn't feeling I came up with it.
And after that on his guy came up with his on his four runner
with the four runner of trail stuff.
They they ride with the daughters.
And he's like, right, you're with his daughter.
It's like, you're crying.
You're okay.
You're crying like, no, I think I'm like, no,
I think he goes on that way.
That's it.
He goes, I know it is.
And I argue with him.
He goes, I know it is.
And I argue with him.
I didn't want to resign.
Oh, so I didn't say ankle.
And then my foot was purple and ankle was big.
The whole thing was big.
The ankle was big.
The whole thing was big.
I factured that bone.
I fractured that bone.
I left ankle and then I had a high ankle
but the doctor goes, I had a ankle
but the doctor goes, good news.
That's good about this.
I didn't tear anything.
That's good about this.
I didn't tear anything.
I guess that was a good change.
I guess that was a good change.
That's good.
No surgery or anything.
I will put that, but I will put that like that.
It would not have had like their show notes
going on the YouTube to give it to you.
Show notes, but it also gave it to you.
It's a good opportunity on that.
So bad, there's a lot of white papers on it.
So bad, there's a lot of white papers on it.
And it's a good quality, it's a good quality
and light all about the frequency
and all about the stuff.
I'm all about that, my body cannot tell.
So healing and that.
My body connection.
Well, what are you speaking?
I started speaking.
I started speaking.
I spoke in speaking.
When I was in my own first.
When I was promoting for my own.
My book was promoting.
I published my book in 2021.
It was titled Contrary to One and it was titled Create Your Life Recipe.
My name is Jasmine Rice and my name is Jasmine Rice.
I really wanted to cry.
I really wanted to cry.
I really wanted to cry.
I really wanted to play.
And I really believed that.
And I might believe that.
Running grew my third divorce.
Running was also a therapist.
I didn't have all of their faiths.
But running was what saved me.
So healing to me was to be able to put on my healing.
So healing to me was to be able to put on my shoe.
And my crying when I was running.
And my crying when I did it.
And my crying when I did it.
And my crying when I did it.
And my crying when I did it.
And my crying when I did it.
And my crying when I did it.
And my crying when I did it.
And my crying when I did it.
And my crying when I did it.
And my crying when I did it.
And my crying when I did it.
And my crying when I did it.
And my crying when I did it.
And my crying when I did it.
And my crying when I did it.
And my crying when I did it.
And my crying when I did it.
And my crying when I did it.
And my crying when I did it.
And my crying when I did it.
And my crying when I did it.
And my crying when I did it.
And my crying when I did it.
And so when I started speaking to myself and so when I started speaking and it really led the book and it really
Let's take some presentation in one of the types of presentation
I'm one of the mentors my year because we're so scared to just because we're so scared to just take that
Um, you have to take that but I really have to take that but because I really believe that
Because I believe that I believe that I believe that how many happens when you get out of your believe that I'm really
what you know of when you get out of your
Oh, that's a man calendar, yeah.
So you got to post that.
So you got to post that show.
So my summit in the.
Oh, Jasmine, thank you for sharing your book.
Thank you for sharing your book.
Thank you for sharing.
Please be right on the book.
I don't have that writer.
I don't know how I'm writing it, but I have that.
I have the story.
I have that.
It'll be my own story to it'll be my own story to it.
How the mindset works on that.
How the mindset works on that.
And all it is all about stepping out of comfort, stepping out of the challenges.
And sometimes we don't know the challenges and sometimes we don't know that we're stepping
out of comfort, we don't know that we're stepping out of comfort, that happens in a
How dare I say that loving that because I love but I say that loving with them now because I love I love I love
I love stepping out of that
It's so tough stepping out can be so comfortable and we cannot be so comfortable and we cannot
You don't grow spiritually don't go physically don't grow spiritually
Intellectual
Fisiculations and intellectual relations we are meant to be and we aren't meant to be
We aren't meant to be
Comment to stake take that next step

I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I just like
I've been in my own way so it's in it's my mind
It's that comfort zone is getting out of way from it's that comfort zone is that getting out of way from the body or what is that
I remember my first was is I remember my first or second it was my first or second
Marathon a second marathon I think I
Qualified for Boston but I think I qualify for
There is these guys I met it was CIA there was these guys I'm at do C.I.M. I'm
I'm right in my back right here and there's this group of guys that came out and there's these group of guys that came out
Good and we're just laugh that you just have on good and good old times. I just haven't they said they're gonna
Have time so I hung out with them. More people have way more and more people and guy can't have a Marlon
And my neighbor and guy came out and really to my neighborhood. I live here on shoes that weren't
Tied on shoes that were tied he had a
Looking like a runner and he's like run this
It's people inspiring people it's people inspiring somebody else to get out there you're inspiring
You're inspiring people to get out there inspiring people with your book to get out of your fear and be in the
Different step out of your mindset and that's not going from a three-year-old physical
That's that in that physical growth
The year I was born
The year I was 45 to 40
But what words of advice are you gonna leave without listening to those words of advice?
But it's like you got me I really believe that that's like it's got that I really believe that that's my business that I am and I think my business and tell yourself that if you
