Talk to him about the game and of course the upcoming game, but it is Game Week, number one Ohio State, are we assuming number one Ohio State coming to town on Saturday, but I want to back it up for a moment, guys. Let's go back to this past Saturday. Texas, of course. They win 59-7. Let's get y'all's closing thoughts. I think it's really clear, I mean, Texas beat the, you know, what, out of Texas State. Now, Texas State moved the ball, but it was mostly Nickland-I-M, they did break a couple of big plays in there, but outside of QB run and maybe one blown coverage, I thought the Texas defense was stout and the Texas offense was as good as it's been under Steve Sarkeesian, frankly. Scoring on eight of nine possessions, the ninth possession they scored on actually was a fumble returned by Grayson Liddleton. So as efficient as we could hope for in many ways,
some might question the run game's efficiency because there was an area and there a time in there where they weren't necessarily getting stuff done on the run game, but my goodness. I mean, what are you going to say when it's 59-7? You're going to cry foul. I mean, that's one of the things I would say about it. Arch finished 20-27. That's 74% Jerry-305 yards. Four TDs, one interception. He wishes he had that back. Hollywood's some others started the game off with a 45-yard run. That was kind of, that was a good way to start the season, I think, by the way. People wondering about that. I also want to go into injuries a little bit. Trevor Gooseby played much more than expected. He played every rep with the ones. A lot of people including myself thought maybe he gets two or three series. Now he played all the way through halfway through the third quarter with Arch. At quarterback, Lawrence Seymour subbed in for Dylan Sikorsky. So he's on his way back and actually played 30 plus snaps in the game. And then Derek Cooper was injured in the second
and his second carry of the game. He ended up being in a boot. We believe it's just a sore ankle. Not sure that that's going to cause him to miss any time against Ohio State. And then Xavier Philseme sat out the second, the backup, Nickel. He has a hammy injury. So we expect him probably back for Ohio State as well. So all of all and all really big day, Ryan Wingo obviously led the receiver seven catches one hundred and twenty one yards, including a four down conversion. I thought on a really nice catch. Then they had another downfield catch. It was good after the run. Can Coleman started us off with this the first touchdown of the year for the long途. Yeah, we talked about it last night a little bit. The thing that the is unfortunate for Derek Cooper to have that ankle sprain on carry two of his college career. But as we kind of talked about leading into the game, that this would be a game that he would get a lot of run. He probably you could probably get 10, 12 carries in that game because they didn't probably want to hand it
off the smothers and relief brown a ton in this game, right? And it sees an opener. What Cooper, you know, leading in the Ohio State Cooper missed a lot of valuable time on the field. Because I think this is a big experience game coming up for Texas. I think your experience players when you bring Ohio State to town when you get in these type of games, these are experienced games. So Derek Cooper missed a little window for experience there in game one. And it'll be interesting to see if he's good to go. How much they insert him in game two after missing what probably would have been what Bobby 25 30 snaps is probably what you would have played in game one. That'll be interesting. You know, I think Texas talks Texas handled their business, right? Texas states a good offensive team because of the quarterback and G. J. Kennedy. They're not a good defensive team. And I think Texas handled their business the way they showed the one thing I was told Saturday night was this was a day two practice to install type of vanilla game plan. But Ohio
State did the same thing in ball state. And now here we come, which is what we we want to talk about both those teams showed nothing. They didn't put any preparation into those to Texas state or ball state. Texas probably put a little preparation in the Brad Jackson just familiarizing guys with Brad Jackson, but they didn't scheme up that game on offense defense or special teams. I know how state didn't scheme up ball state on offense defense or special teams. That was all saved for this week. But Texas handled their business the way they should. I I love that they created the three turnovers just off of individual instinct of plays individual hustle plays. Individual super smart play by Rahim Biles. I mean they created turnovers in a natural way without Will Must-Champ dialing something up. I thought that was really good to see. And the best thing that came out of that game for me was obviously no season ending injuries. But Texas beat Texas state so bad that Kennedy pulled Brad Jackson to save a season.
When they started getting the hitman hitting him, he got him out of that game, which was smart by G.J. Kenny. But now here we go. What we're going to find out this week about Texas and Ohio State. Both teams are going to be challenged in ways that ball state and Texas state just didn't have the personnel and the ability to do. And I'm here for it. I think it's going to be a monumental game in Austin. The crowd's going to have to bring it at a level like 22 Bama plus it's night. This is a really good team coming in. Do I think there's good as their national championship team two years ago? I do not after watching them. I think they're very talented and I think there is talented as about anybody. Do I think they're that level team? Not right now could they be at the end of the year? Maybe. But they're a little different than those teams were. Those teams lost some great players on defense. They lost some really good running back off those teams. This I think Ohio State team is going to be a little different than maybe that team from a couple of years ago. Just not quite as experienced on defense had an influx of guys from the portal.
Some guys will talk about throughout the week their defensive lineman. I think to watch in this game or as much portal players on the interior as guys they actually recruited out of high school. But it should be an unbelievable atmosphere in Austin. By the way, the high is a hundred Saturday. So I'm not cool enough for this game, which is a good thing. A couple of things I want to add real quick before we move on to Ohio State and talk with Marcus in a minute here. Texas was 13 of 17 on money downs. 11 of 15 on third down. Two of two on fourth down. That's I mean 13 of 17 on money downs. You don't get much better than that. And some of those were not gimmies. I mean Texas complete. I think a third and 13, a third and 11, a third and 10. Various numbers. But the 7.4 yards per play will get it done 26 first downs. And Jerry, you mentioned those those turnovers that Texas caused. Texas actually also caused another fumble that they just get on top of. So that defense was swarming and Rahim Biles.
Kind of a revelation. I think he adds. He adds a disruptive element on the second level for Texas is what he does. We know what Colin Simmons and maybe some of these ed rushers can do. What Rahim Biles does is add just an element of, you know, let's figure out. They're going to have to deal with him a little bit. You know, they it's it's a he's an interesting player because he's not the prototypical linebacker size. He's just not Jerry. And I think that that's going to be something that everybody has to deal with at some level. And I do hope to your point. I hope turnovers become a thing for the University of Texas this year because they have the personnel to to make that make that a reality. All right. you sir. Good morning. I was about to talk on mute there. I had to catch myself. Now I saw your eyes light up a little bit, Blake. How y'all doing this morning fellas? Good. Hey Marcus, I figured we'd start asking you with good. What you took away from this game from a good perspective for Texas? Yeah, I mean I know when we talked on Friday at the co-op, Bobby, a big part of what went into me picking them, you know, the score 52 points, and they outdid that right? Was that I had an expectation that they would start faster this year that, you know, whether it was, you know, the Ohio State game from last year, the other two non-conc opponents or three rather, you know, there was some slower starts, you know, kind of sputtered a little bit. I wanted to see good execution and I wanted to see them, you know, make it clear early on that there wasn't going to be much of a fight to be had on the day. And that's exactly what they went out and did. We did expect them, you know, to move the ball some and I think, you
know, that that comes from just them having a pretty well-oiled machine, DJ Kenny being a great offensive mind and, you know, some of, you know, the scheme that must-champ was going to be running on the day was just going to be very plain. But the fact that they were able to get off to such a quick start, they were able to execute, and then, you know, penalties man, like we talked in the off season about how critical it was for that to be a significant jump. I think they only had four on the day, two of which I would even say are pretty questionable and I didn't see any from the offensive line until the fourth quarter when the backups were in. So, for me, you know, those two things right there are very positive signs that they can build on. There's still plenty of film out there that I'm sure the coaches will be, you know, coaching them really hard on. And, you know, we did a video yesterday morning with Jeff Coaching myself and we were, you know, being critical, right? Because it's not about us feeling like in a vacuum, anything was overly negative in the game and true like harbingers have concerned for the long term, if you will, right?
But if the thought is that Bobby, you picked him to go 12 and I know I had him going 11-1 in the regular season. Most of the guys have him 10-2 somewhere in there and everybody thinks that they have a shot at a national title run, then the standards very high. And so, you like games like this where you can, you know, walk away knowing you dominated, but at the same time, there's plenty of coaching type out there that the staff will have an opportunity to make sure they have their attention because Ohio State rolls into town here at the end of the weekend and things are going to ramp it up and not. All right, Marcus, next question for you. I was talking to some folks this morning. There's been some big non-conference games at Texas. In Alabama, a couple of years back, USC, is this the biggest that you remember in your lifetime as a long-horn? I mean, it's a top-foc showdown in Austin. Two years or three years ago when Alabama came to town or four years now, I guess, Texas was not a top five team in the country. They were just an upstart program at that point and
some folks mine. So, is it the biggest non-conference game in your lifetime in Austin? I think so, Bobby. I don't really know what other game you could point to. I mean, even, you know, the year after we won the national championship in my senior year when Ohio State came to town, it was a big game, but I don't know if anybody, you know, from a national standpoint, truly expected us to make, you know, a run for it all that year, right? It was a conversation of what we had lost, especially with VY, you know, heading on to the league. And so, you know, in a matchup like this, man, I mean, it's, you know, the follow-up from last year up in Columbus when, you know, the team was ranked number one, which was probably too high, in my opinion, at the time, but now, you know, they probably have more of the pieces that are, you know, close to matching up to what a lot of people have expected. And this is why a lot of, you know, pundits and AP riders and any number of folks voted them to be number five is it was a wait and see. How are
they going to play against Ohio State? And so, yeah, I think it's certainly fair to say that this is the biggest, you know, non-con home game that I would have seen just because of the stakes, right? There's a lot on the line. And I think for both programs, it could set, you know, set their seasons up really well if you're able to go out and get a victory. Yeah, Marcus, I think it's always interesting when you come into games like this, you talk about the quarterbacks and you talk about the skilled guys, but this game's going to come down to the line of screw. On most levels of this game, whether that's it's defensive lines versus offensive lines, who can get quarterbacks off their spots, who can make quarterbacks play on the move, take them out of their comfort zones, disrupt timing. And when I look at this game, I really do think, and I think I think a very tough, it's always underrated. And we talked about this the year that Texas went the BAM in one and I'm talking about for the Ohio State Center and their offensive line. That communication and a crazy environment is a month for the road team. So I think everybody can
talk about all the Ohio State players they want. The center's got the most pressure on him starting this game Saturday night because he's got to be, he's got to be great in communication in a raucous environment. Else everything's going to get screwed up timing wise. But I talk about the lines because I really think we have great skill guys. We're going to talk about them all week. But when it comes down to it, those five offensive linemen on both sides and those defensive fronts are going to tell you the story of this game in large part. Yeah, I agree. And I know you had mentioned to me that you had noted, their left tackle was struggling a little bit against ball state early. And I was trying to sneak in a little bit of a watch this morning and I'll probably get to the rest of it today. But you're right. I think it's going to be a huge game for everybody in the trenches on both sides of the ball. And that's going to go a long way to tell you the story of the game. I think when I was watching some of it, ball state was able to get pressure just doing
an in a regular inside rush. I guess they're offensive tackle. It wasn't any kind of crazy stunt or anything like that. And so if that is the case, then you know, you certainly can imagine that the game plan this week for much more will be significantly different than from Texas State. You're not just going to see just lining up in a base, you know, front and that kind of thing. You'll see some more stunts and twists and some exotic, you know, coverages and probably even some personnel groupings that they haven't put on film yet. So, you know, I think for the defense, if they can get, you know, Julian saying off his spot, he's certainly not as athletic as a Brad Jackson. So you don't necessarily have the the threat of, you know, him pulling down the ball in the same manner. And I think that will, you know, play towards an aggressive, much champ style of defense, but he's still a guy that gets the ball out quickly. And, you know, I think after his first couple of incompletions, you know, he finished the day with like four only. So he is his percentage is still going to be up there. And he knows where to find this guy. So it's going to be on them. Hey, Mark, that dude is that dude is just Colt McCoy accurate.
I mean, it's just bottom line. He's got probably got a better arm than Colt at the same age. I was going to say Bobby where he's really, he's really accurate on the boundaries. I mean, he makes him a big time throws on the boundaries. Yeah. Hey, the Louisville quarterback law, look pretty good in the second half last night. Well, he was Ohio State's backup. That's, Julian saying it's pretty darn good. Now, I mean, I agree with you Jerry that it's not going to be the skill people that necessarily decide this game. It'll be the guys up front because both teams I think have excellent skill. I mean, they really do. I mean, Ohio State's got what say in Bo Jackson, the receiver group, Jeremiah Smith in particular, Texas has some similarly situated guys. It will likely come down to that, but I tell you what, the thing about this game is I think both teams have skill position guys that could take the game over. Like I'm watching the oval
Ole Miss game last night. You watched Ole Miss take that game over with Trinidad Jamblest and Duce Alexander. That that can literally happen. And it doesn't matter whether your defense is good or not. That that can happen. Marcus, we have a question for you coming in from a viewer. Let's see what we got here. Like you want to bring it up. We do from cozer seven. He says, I would love to hear Marcus's thoughts on what the defensive personnel's approach was with knowing a vanilla scheme for Texas State, yet a great offense, but also needing to prep for Ohio State at the same time. Yeah, you know, we talk about this a lot, especially in the off season when you're, you know, looking at some of the games and how they line up. And I'd be willing to bet, you know, that there's been significant work on Ohio State throughout the off season, whether the guys explicitly knew it or not, right? There were certain concepts that were introduced. Then by the time they got to the game, you know, you don't really notice it in the midst of it, but kind of on the back end, you're like, wait a minute, we didn't run this or we didn't run that today, you know, when you're
kind of watching back some of the film. And, you know, I heard Ryan Day say it that typically, you know, you give guys 24 hours, but, you know, in a game like this, you know, they celebrated for like 15 minutes and then it was on the Texas. I can guarantee you it's very similar. In the locker room down in the 40. And so, you know, the approach is really trying to be as sound as you can with your alignment and assignment, you know, for Texas State really working on your fundamentals as much as possible, trying not to have, you know, blown assignments and mental lapses. At the same time, being mindful of, yeah, there is, you know, a game that's looming out there. And so you do everything you can to put this one away as early as possible, you know, it was great to see Arch get pulled early in the third quarter and, you know, Lacey get some quality reps. And then you saw them roll in a number of guys. I think, you know, when I got to looking at it, they ended up with like eight TFLs on the day, but you saw that some of them came from, you know, some of the guys that were playing in the back end of the second half defensively. I think they rolled in a total
like 31 guys that registered a defensive statistic, right? So that means they played even more than that, but but 30, 31 of them were either in on a tackle or had a solo or something to that effect. So you do everything you can to focus on what's at hand, right? Because you never want to take an opponent for granted. But you're aware of what's at stake in that, you know, there's another game looming out there. And there's been some some work on that, you know, last week and throughout the off season and stuff that they sprinkled in. And, you know, now you completely turn the page. A few things that you'll look at on film to make sure that was cleaned up. But everything is going to go into Ohio State now. Question for you about some of the subplots to this game, Marcus. A lot of people in the chat right now talking about, oh, just have to get after say and to make him inaccurate. And I think there's some accuracy to that. And I know we have some Ohio State fans in the chat this morning would love to hear their thoughts on it too, by the way. But the idea being
Indiana and Miami got a got after saying last year and all of a sudden he looks human. Well, every quarterback looks human under a patch, typically. So especially one that's instant, right? And throws you off your off your mark immediately. Is that the key for Texas if they can get after Julian say and all of a sudden this becomes a, you know, a game that can be won for Texas? Because if you just let them sit back there and pick you apart, not really. They may be better than Texas at that in my opinion. So what are your thoughts there? I mean, you want to heat them up, but it comes that I think I heard Rod qualified as like gambling to a sense. It's a calculated risk, right? But, you know, depending on the way in which Mustang choose to call, he's not going to sit back and let them just dictate the game. But you also have to be careful about it because if you are, you know, one step away. If you are not in perfect sync, you know, behind the guys that are rushing
up front, they have some really good offensive players to what we, you know, kind of open this with Bobby and they'll make you pay, right? So some of these plays that you saw that took place, you know, again, I've watched the game back a few times. And so I don't come away with it having any grave concerns. But I will say, you know, some of these guys at Ohio State has, you let them get the ball in space the way some of these Texas State guys did. And the yardage and the, you know, possible touchdowns are much different, right? A lot of that stuff is getting converted at a different rate. I understand that he's just a freshman, but legend Bay is a solid, solid player, man. And, you know, you, yeah, he's just a freshman and did it. Well, Jamal Charles at one point was just a freshman and he looked all right under the lights. So, you know, there are some guys that are special in that respect. And they will certainly have, you know, some wrinkles in there as well that they didn't put on film. So, you know, I think it, yeah, you want to heat them up. You don't want them to just be able to sit back there and be comfortable. This is a guy that has, has some
experience, he has some really, really quality, you know, players out there. I mean, for all I love, you know, with our receivers, I still think Jeremiah Smith is probably the best wide receiver in college football. If it's not him, it'd probably be Malachi Tony for me, right? And certainly different types of players, but the types of guys that again, to your point earlier, Bobby can take over a game. So, it's crucial that they're all buttoned up, but you definitely don't want to let him sit back there and pick you apart. But in order to be able to bring that kind of pressure and to try to get him off your spot, you know, you, he's going to try to get the ball out quick and you have to have things buttoned up on the back end. I think, I think for both of these teams, another thing in games like this, winning on first down defensively is huge. Huge in games like this because both teams have so much offensive talent that if you're not winning defensively on first down, you feel like you're on your heels. I mean, if Ohio State or Texas is consistently,
if one of those teams is consistently in second four, second and three, you have to, you're playing on your heels from the get go, winning on first down, I think is huge defensively for Texas in this game. Marcus, I think there's some great matchups in this game coming to. We'll talk about Devon Coleman and Cam Coleman, Devon Sanchez and Cam Coleman. Cam Coleman turns 50-50 balls in the 80-20 balls. Again, 19-10. 19-10. He's ridiculous. He's ridiculous. I think there's two guys he's going against this year that changed that percentage. And Devon Sanchez is one of them, the other's DJ Pickett and LSU. We've got weeks to talk about that game because Pickett's four and a free. But there's those two sophomore corners are as good as anybody in the country that play on the outside. This is a game where Devon Sanchez can actually put up a fight. It's going to be a really good on the 50-50 balls. It's going to be a really good matchup. I'll tell you, it's hidden matchup in this game. Can Yada Jackson against Melvin Siami? Can Yada Jackson, the senior edge guy out
of Ohio State, he's big, long-arm guy. And when he goes up against the right tackle, okay, if he's able to, if he's able to start pushing that pocket, that immediately is in Archmaning's eyes. And that's going to affect Archmaning in his movement in the pocket, almost immediately. That's a hidden matchup in this game because can Yada play off that left side against the right tackle of ball state a lot in the opener. That's a hidden matchup in this game. And I'll tell you a second hidden matchup in this game is John Walker, the UCF transfer nose tackle. He is an undersized 6-1 and a quarter maybe bullbrusher. So Conor Robertson has to anchor really well in this game. And that would, by the way, John Walker former teammate at Ossiol and really good friend of Bo Masco. But he is one of those undersized leverage winning those tackles. That he doesn't wow you. I'm not even sure he got in the box score the other day.
And he maybe had half a tackle. But he can affect things with a bullbrush. So Conor Robertson's going to have to anchor well. There's a lot of hidden matchups in this game that I think are make it really fascinating a lot of fun. And I would even go as far to say some not so hidden motivations. You talk about the Devon Sanchez. You talk about Riley Pedagin. They're guys that I mean Ohio State for years has always come in the Texas and plucked a few. And there's some that in hindsight I really wish had been wearing burn orange. And so some of those guys are going to be lined up on Saturday. And I'm not overly thrilled with the fact that they're on the opposing side line. So coach you always tell us those guys are on scholarship too. I guess probably the adage now is those guys get paid too. And we're about to find out pretty quickly here who is worth what. And so you're right. There's going to be a bunch of games within the game. I think there are some elements of Ohio State's defense that will take a step back. But then I think there's
going to be some other areas that will take a step forward. I think they have some pretty good depth along the interior defensive line if I'm being honest. And to your point Jerry, it may not have been ones that showed up in the in the box score against ball state. But you know they have a really really talented squad. And there's a reason they're ranked what they are. And so you know I'm excited man. I mean it's going to be a full week. You know I know I'll be back on on Wednesday evening. Wretlashley said they should be underdogs. Wretlashley said they should be underdogs of that powerhouse in Tallahassee. I mean Wretl, come on. Did he really? Oh yeah. Yeah we should we shouldn't be good favorites in this game really. You got three times the NIL bro. I mean yeah I would have to statue you built the statue for your quarterback who's O and one in the college. Well playoffer name this center after him or something. Whatever it was I'm RC Slope of a plot. He thought it was a great decision. Insurance is at one size fits all. That's why drivers have enjoyed Progressives. Name your price tool for years now. RC Slope got a statue at A&M for going seven and seven against his art tribal. Oh and Bobby. 500 500 against his art tribal. You know what gets a statue for football coach at A&M? 3 and 8 in bowl games. O and 4 in the cotton bowl. O and 5 in New Year's six games. Three seasons of finishing in the top 10 out of 14. Zero for finishing in the top five out of 14. Seven seven against your arrival got fired. Build a statue. Well I don't even know what to say. Well I had a lot to say but it's kind of amazing. That's good. I will say this. RC is a good guy. Yes. I don't have a problem with it. RC is a good guy. No I mean yeah but my personal opinion. No he was I mean he was but from a resume that guy didn't deserve a statue. Okay. Who's got a statue for zero top five finishes in 14 seasons before they fired you. That's wild even Gary Patterson had a couple of seasons better than that and he got a
statue for staying at TCU along that. Yeah I give it run there. Oh yeah I thought to this morning since we've seen the first week almost the first full week of action in the books we could look at some updated odds guys. If you all remember to begin the season Texas was the favorite to win the SEC. They were about where they are now for the national championship and arch was tied for first in the Hyde's Winthropy. That has changed Texas is now below Georgia to win the SEC. They're still have the second best odds. As far as the national championship goes they have the fourth best odds and then arch tied for second now with Jeremiah Smith and Minza the quarterback out of Miami has the best odds to win the highs. Yeah on the highs men if teams keep stacking the box against Miami to take away the run Minza probably will win the Heisman or Malachai Tony one of the two but probably Minza. I mean that's just easy pitching catch and he's
way too accurate. I mean if teams are going to try to take away the Miami run like Stanford did for an extended period of time Minza is going to put up some monster numbers this year because he's got a great player and really good wide receivers around it and he is super accurate. National champion here we go Bobby. I mean this is to your top four Saturday in Austin all these these odds are greatly going to change after this week for somebody. I think that I think they will greatly change this weekend. Look I want to shout out Blake. Blake did you do this graphic or didn't Matt. I did. I did. So I've got to say this the mere fact that Blake put Miami Florida because I have a friend of mine who grew up in Oxford Ohio. My college roommate and he always says Miami of Ohio is the original Miami and Miami Florida so he tries to always make that distinction.
Blake you're the first person in media to make that distinction in 25 years and I'm sure you made his heart happy just now. Well that's how they haven't listed on where I pulled these from. So I know I'm just I'm just telling you that you just made his heart happy because he's been yelling about that in my ear since we've been in college. Look the National Champion. I could I can't see it after watching Indiana. I can't see them repeating. I'll just I think Oregon repeating Oregon's defense is not even though they're they have the pieces. I don't think they have the I don't know if it's scheme or man no Dan Lang's supposed to be a defense coordinator but Oregon's defense was lacking. I could definitely see LSU Miami. I thought Miami even though Jerry liked them a lot. I felt like there are offensive line to be a problem for them late in the season.
Georgia Notre Dame Ohio State LSU I thought look really really good. My point right now in college football is I'm not so sure this isn't the best college football has been in a long time. As far as concert concentrated wealth of teams and I'm not talking about financial wealth but maybe that plays a role in it. The best college football has played at a really high level right now. It just is. If you've spent a lot of money you're getting results. I mean it look these teams are better. The only one that didn't get results was Michigan. I mean seriously. Well they got a result all right. Yeah but my point is I'm talking with you. I know. Not my point is is that you look at the top 15 teams and how much they spend even Louisville spends a lot of money in NIL and they look plenty talented. They're going to be a problem in the ACC that I mean I just feel like I feel
like college football right now. The top 10 teams like I guarantee like Ohio I'll let's put Ole Miss in there Ole Miss's defense looked poor in the second half in my opinion last night. Okay. They bust in a lot of coverage. Yeah but do you want to play Trinidad Chandler's? No he can still be your top five team. If you're a top five team I don't want to play Trinidad Chandler's. You certainly don't want to be a you certainly don't want the ball in his hands with a chance to win it. That's exactly what I'm saying. He's a clutch gene athlete. He struggled early in that game but when it counted it was boom boom boom boom boom boom. Yeah. And all kinds of different ways. Yeah. You know and I think that's what I'm getting at. There's two things. One is I think that there's more talent concentrated with the elite programs. No. Just one two elite programs almost all of them because of the portal have a quarterback. Sam Levit at LSU. Okay. I don't
I don't know who would have been their quarterback without Sam Levit going there but he is good as Sam Levit. You know what I mean? I vary Mince. Miami didn't have a quarterback if they didn't get Darian Mince. They weren't I don't care how good my Malachitone is. If you ain't got a quarterback that get him the ball you're not going to be as good. Texas has archmaning. Oh I'll say it has Julian saying. I mean the list goes on. Don't think. Yeah. I would say this. Yeah. This is where all the preseason how talented teams are talking. I said this in the offseason. No body's seen all these teams. Maybe there's some national reporters have went around and spring practice and saw everybody. But I'm here to tell you as nothing to do with who LSU played. That was a buzz saw atmosphere in game. I don't think people are now saying I'll climps in some two in 10 team. No they won't be. Not unless they quit and they fire the coach. No they won't be. And I'll tell you why in a second. LSU has as much talent as anybody. I on a football field of any team I saw this weekend and has nothing to do with who they played. There is talented
is anybody. And that was that was the worst case scenario for Davo because he's refused to go to the portal and then he just got buzz sawed and wood shed against the guy who maybe did more in the portal when hired from a great player standpoint than anybody's. He did. Then anybody's done. But when we talk about all these oh this team's most talented. This team's most talented. LSU is talented as Texas guys. Oh yeah. Well, but they are just as talented. I mean they they have just as many playmakers. They have just as many big bodies and they've got a better running back. I mean I like I like really round and I was one of that running back for LSU could run through tackles now. Yep. Yep. I was really now I'm not saying that he's a better all-around back because I didn't seem catch a football. Yeah. All right. Yeah. As a runner I was like that dude goes downhill. I hear here's something that I wanted to get at as part of that discussion to and I'll just keep it quick. It's Clemson the Clemson discussion. Jerry I was talking to a former
offensive coordinator at Alabama TCU A&M Mississippi State. I was talking to him yesterday. Okay. He said Davos problem right now is that he was never a coordinator in college football. He went straight to head coach and his problem right now Jerry is that he doesn't know how to solve problems. Only thing he can solve. Only wait because he never had to as a coordinator go in and look at an offensive and say hey this is what we got to do. That was never his job. Same with his defense at times and the reason why he never had to do that. So his only answers are go get better players which he didn't do because he's been neglectful in the portal or fire coaches and higher coaches and he has done that and that is why we see this downfall of Clemson football. Yeah and he didn't he adapt or die. He didn't adapt. Either way one thing I want to say on that
LSU Clemson game what I want to point out one to make is they're not a void of talent team. They're not as talented as they used to be. Clearly they saw seven guys projected to go in the draft by out headed in this season. They're really good players in the second or good players at wide receiver. You couldn't tell you couldn't tell against LSU couple a couple of deliming offensive linemen that are going to get drafted. They're not void. They're not some FCS. They're not some G5 talent level team. Anybody thinks that's wrong. Wrong. They're not that level talent team. They have more talent than that. But I'll take people back why I'm saying they're not some FCS some 11-2-10 team. Georgia two years ago smoked them in Atlanta that start the season. That game was never in doubt. It was 34-3 Clemson had 79 yards in the first half with Kate Clubnet that 120 yards to go in the
last going in the last drive of the game when Kirby called off the dog so they got 60 yards and ended up with 180. That Kate Clubnet in better players and they couldn't move the football at all and got blown out of that game got outgain by 300 yards. That team ended up making the plow. This team's not that team but I'm just saying I think sometimes we have short memories. Oh this Clemson they're dead. They're FCS team. They've got their butt beat before and they're a little more talented than people think. I think they ran into a buzz saw and Lane even said it in that press conference. We played really well. He said we played really well. We have really good players but we played really well in this game and they made a ton of big plays and obviously Clemson's a 7-5, 6-6-0 team unless they fired the coaching quit in mid season then things go off the rails but they're not some two in 10 team like people are making them out to beat now. If people think there are two in 10 type of team no chance they're better than that. They're more talented
the question is what is what is the motivation going to be there in the season? I mean if anybody thinks if anybody thinks ball state would go beat Clemson they're not. Not happening. We got them Clemson LHG Ole Miss Superchats. I'm going to read some of those right now. This one from Derek Smith. Thank you Derek. Appreciate you. He says Morning OTF. Happy Labor Day. Bobby you were spot on with your comparison of Clemson and Texas after great quarterback play. They are headed for dark days. LHG looked good but I thought that game said more about Clemson than LHG and then Sardis Slinging says that you hear at halftime Lane say imagine that we had our pros. Well happy Labor Day fellas. I thought that was a good one. I actually thought that was really good. Imagine that was when they were like what 31 to 3 and a half or something. Imagine if we had our pros.
And then we got a couple of others here at SEC Wardaddy. Good morning OTF. The Ole Miss defense gave up a ton of points last night. Their offense started slow but eventually got going in the second half. We could be a N for a shootout for that game. To Jerry's point don't let Trinidad Chambers have the ball with a chance to win it. Yeah. Just bottom line. Like I knew Louisville had scored too quickly. Everybody in the stands knew Louisville had scored too quickly. Last night. I mean everybody watching on TV. You knew that face in third and sixth and throws a freaking laser over the middle. You know just reverse pivots out of a sack. That was an incredible eyes in the back. That was an incredible play that he made on that. Like everybody the throws get all the replays but that play was incredible by him. Yeah what a bit third and 15. Instead he like evades the rush and you know gains two yards. I want to say this to about the
weekend. To that point it's one game we always make too much off of one game. So I think you know who's very talented. You can see who's very talented. That's very that comes shining through right. Right lights. Boom boom boom. That's bright lights but the SEC is going to beat each other up this year. That was my big take away. Alabama's they're not the talent. They're not as lack of talent as people probably want to make them out to be. They're not what they know. They're never going to be what they were underneath in that era ever again but they're not void of talent. I think some people saw well they're looked at their high school recruiting rankings this year. They don't have Keel Russell and Xavier Cruel really talented freshman. Keel Russell's a good player. They got players Ole Miss will beat somebody. Camaro Taylor may jump up and beat upset somebody this year at Mississippi State. He's a really good player. Like this this league LSU is not going undefeated. We go down these paths every year and forget about the road venues
in the SEC and how difficult they actually are. And now you're going to navigate another game to get through that. I mean as good as I thought LSU looked as talented as I thought they looked, I'm not sure I have I think they're going 12 and 0. I haven't seen enough of Texas say they can go 12 and 0. We'll find out a lot more about Texas and Ohio State both this weekend. But what I take away was Trinidad Chambers even if they're Bobby there eight and 14 this year he's going to beat somebody. There's going to get one of those games. Mississippi State dude could beat somebody. I mean the team that the team that I thought looked over rough and the box score is not going to indicate it. Michigan A&M. Yeah the average not because people are going to make out about the defensive yards they gave up but fine but they didn't play with. Well how's that going to look when LSU comes to town in three weeks. And it's not going to look or A&M goes to LSU. But I thought A&M's offensive line really struggled in pass pro when I watched Saturday really struggled in pass pro.
They're going to have to fix that because September 26th there in Baton Rouge and LSU's defense will be smoking Marcel Reed if that offensive line doesn't hurt. I will just say this Marcel Reed it's pretty clear what Holman Wiggins and the offense coordinator is going to do there. He's going to try to activate Marcel Reed's legs. I think they're going to run him and they ran he ran scrambled half the game against Missouri State. They're going to try to activate his legs this year a little bit more than what they did a year ago. See if he can hold up in the SEC. We got two others real quick before we get back to Texas. One guard is up from watching the game last night. How does Ole Miss match up against LSU? I think it's going to be a big deal. Yeah I think LSU is going to beat him. Yeah it'll be a great venue. I mean I think it'll be a great game but Ole Miss had some real coverage last night and I would add this. Levitt can do the same things with his legs that you saw
the Louisville quarterback do and he's got better I'd say better talent around him meaning all 11. Louisville's got two dudes that can absolutely go though. The Richardson guy and obviously Isaac Brown they got a couple of dudes with serious juice and the number two running back to good player for them too but same Levitt can do this present the same problems and if you have coverage bus like that against LSU watch out and then you got a power run game with it. And one other one real quick from Zach Torres as I'm pretty sure you all talked about it but it was your reactions to the Michigan game. I can't imagine. I think I might have been institutionalized had I been that head coach. I'm seeing I mean or just a Western Michigan fan I don't know what else to say they would have had to put me in a straight jacket. Can you imagine that happening to Texas? I mean the game clock clearly clearly showed zero zero yet they have apparently some other
clock that they're wired all clocks synced especially if that's the game clock it makes no sense to me and I know that the big 10 came out and said oh wait a minute we got in the Western Michigan I just is bizarre. I literally they probably if I were that a fan of that team they would have probably put me away in a straight jacket because I would have just like lost it. No. Oh man. All right. offensive line disappointed quick pass game to offset the Texas pass rush carry wilder number 34 true freshman is a freshman to watch on our defensive line go box buddy israel funny you mentioned that i wrote something on texas football dot com this morning things i noticed uh in the ball state game and markis briefly hit on it but uh the left tackle for Ohio State struggle it was a second career start against ball state he didn't look as athletic as some of the left tackles i've seen in recent years at the end of high said doesn't mean he's not going to end up being a really good player but people were crossing his face he crossed his feet and pass pro he's got clean it up but calling Simmons is going to give him some issues if he doesn't clean it up and calling gives everybody issues but Collins twitch could be a real issue for him i wonder if they're going to have to give him some help in this game right tackle phillips Daniels was 13 all big 10 last year is it originally a minnesota transfer he looked he didn't look right either in that game
now it's ball state emotionally you're not up for the game probably but i'm not sure there is athletic attack on some of their really good team just you know i was saying that doesn't mean Ohio State's not going to go win an actual championship but i did find that interesting watching and i mentioned kory wilder in my right at two i don't know how many snaps he's going to play guys if y'all have it seen him he was at top 50 the country last year at a cally he is a natural pass rusher he may only play seven snaps but there's going to be two of them where he's in the back field he's just got that ability about him so it's a game of experience and all the stars are going to get all the headlines in that game but they do have a young freshman kid that's going to be a really good player the rush on the passer one day you got to block him up if you get seven staff you better block him up hey uh you know jerry they mentioned mark is at the outset mentioned uh the texas kids that go up to Ohio state don't forget about uh Raheem Biles from uh not Columbus area uh for texas as well as hero khanu though how's the transfer so it works both ways
uh this will be a great game it it should be i hope it is i hope it lives up to the height man and i hope it's a great atmosphere not just uh not just for texas fans but for all of college football to see it's going to be the centerpiece of college the college football weekend that's for sure and speaking of biles rod babers helmet with super chat says the jostee his face mask explode after the interception when the line landed on him also watching talcyn just crash block people is going to watch texas is a all right so first of all saw the i saw the face mask offensive lineman literally just landed on him and popped it let's talk about the tight ends at texas this weekend jerry you think that's worth a little three minute sidebar i i want to say this spencer shannon started no or michael misunis which was surprising okay but it was clear why spencer shannon is an accomplished blocker and he has earned his way into this this uh roster and i'm
i'm happy for him uh nick cahonson is that h back that can really knock the you know what out of people it is a different blocking level team than they've had at tight end since steves or keesans been here and that's no offense to gunner helm or jack andrees or jt sanders all in the nfl right now it's they're just better blockers overall i also thought marie winston had a good game caught a couple passes made the most to both of them uh so texas tight ends i think sneakily had a really good game on on saturday yeah no they didn't it and it's different than the sort teams we've seen in the past because sanders is a great past catcher and after the catch gunner helm proved to be that as well i'm not sure we have that element but you you can be different and be really good and to that point um uh nick townson is always been a very physical football art player he did it in high school playing
like every position on the field or most um but yeah he is going to crack heads he's done that as whole career um he is a very physical minded player with really high end athleticism um and then spencer shannon obviously has grown um gotten stronger gotten more confident as a college tied in inline player because coming out of hot coming out of modern day he had to build up his frame that was going to take him time he's big tall long arm guy and he's built his way into that confidence wise technique wise uh strength wise uh so that's a should be a good combination um and i think i think nick townson they have a key job in this game coming up saturday because not only did he got a block in the run game he may have to take on uh help with kenyatta jackson a little bit too in an age back row at times um because kenyatta is a load um the edge for uh uh high state not twitchy necessarily load but physical load uh but i thought they played really well and i thought
the play of the tight ends bobby is actually what force texts of state they have to put an extra half in the box because they couldn't deal with them in the run game they had to put the extra half in the box eventually uh let's see our next one here for my zaya thank you azea he says i know it was text to state but we can run the ball you know that's a good question so there's some people bemoaning the fact that texas had a lag basically in between the first and fourth quarters they ran the ball effectively in the first quarter and the fourth quarter um i thought that it was pretty clear that texas state sold out to stop the run after that first big run from hollywood some others and that's one of the reasons why they were so effective i mean downfield texas had a bunch of huge plays in the passing day a bunch i'm uh i'm all for that uh so i i think that the question i have is will it be a consistent efficient run game throughout the year
it's one of the things i'm going to talk to me and jef how we're going to talk with uh brian urwin and bob shipley later today about i think is the texas run game and what their diagnosis of it was uh from saturday now and look i give and it's not that i don't believe or like some things i but with offensive lines the same thing for ohio state i talked about ohio state or they had get incomplete for me because and when i mean incomplete i don't mean they didn't do well with their task at hand and who they're playing but both of these teams are about to go against totally different talent levels like it becomes some one-on-one matchups like a james smith like texas has to deal with james smith brian and bakers got to win that matchup uh ohio state has to win against maraud watch it ohio state has to be able to control e and jef are who can be tough to control lining up over the ball so neither team played a player on texas say their ball state
that even comes close to what they're going to see saturday so that's kind of why i kind of why i'm waiting to see on these teams i mean you know when you watch say some of the things you got to watch this weekend you got to watch old misko against really good better players against lobe you get to watch a physical whistle constant team against no today and you got to watch flimson versus alas you you can you can pull a little bit more from that i that's why i think offensive line and defensive line are going to be so big in this game because there's a there's an unknown factor other than the talent levels for these guys because of who they played against week one if texas handles some of those one-on-ones against saturday against ohio state i think that'll be a really really good sign for the season because i do think there's matchups along the offensive lines for both of these offensive lines they're in a test them in ways that those the first opponents just couldn't do does y'all bro awesome guys awesome meeting you guys made my birthday
uh Dawson thanks for coming in and see us here at the on texas football HQ in Austin pre-shape you and your wife uh eggor i just want to say thank you for your super chat they just talked about tidians or i want to put that up if i want to saw it but eggor was very impressed by the aggression in blocking by towns and and shenan they looked angry again thank you eggor sorry about that or i would have put that up a minute ago uh let's see our next one this morning comes from kei these said so much good olion can block arch look poise explosive run play first play water seebers early jona is here and biles is elite football i i'll go back one thing on olion can block they pass protected really well bottom line so much better than a year ago it's not even it's the comparison's not fair it's not a fair comparison uh already and i know to jerry's point texas state doesn't have anybody that you know scares you per se right i'm not saying that but last year sannos a state didn't
have anybody that scared you you tapped it and haven't been by the schedule and arch was still running for his life the offensive line is appreciably better this year the question is how much better it's relative right ohio state is gonna tell you how much better in my mind uh like texas ohio state can run out seven eight nine defensive lineman and rotate them in you you're the offensive line of both of these teams are going to be tested period and keven carburetor said it was obvious arch was told not to run well sarclady moose on saturday i you don't want him to run a lot because you take hits i mean arch went head forward on saturday i mean those guys normally know one one way to play and it's hard to tell him to turn it off so i think you you would love to run the football
effectively enough without arch using his legs much maybe sprinkling a couple of hits with him but i think most of his on the move in this game will be when he's under the rest i don't think we i don't think we want a lot of quarterback runs where you're taking shots against ohio state so i agree that you don't want that i will tell you this much i don't know about letting loose but play to win on saturday if the game gets you a point if the game gets you a point in a second half we're like okay we got a we got to unload the whole uh arsenal here then you have to unload the arsenal to win the game i completely agree that's what i'm saying i mean play saturday is about playing a win none none of this oh we're gonna save this or not do this much with anybody yeah it's played a win uh then our next superchat this morning comes from billy billywood thank you for your superchat he says two things uh the roverson have more snaps than masco also james simon looks like he
has cat feet your thoughts uh kobi bli xtv bow masco played two more snaps than worn roverson we've got him down at thirty nine roverson a masco at thirty nine roverson at thirty seven grason little ten with forty one kade philips had the most snaps of anybody on the entire defense with fifty eight interestingly jerry with zeva film filsemy sidelined with a hammy last week what we saw was this when grason little teneted breather they would put bow masco in it nickel and move worn roverson in at corner um as opposed to going to a different guy like war del macket nickel so that's pretty clear how they're going to rotate in and get use out of worn roverson he's essentially a third starting cornerback right now uh at at safety kobi black had thirty eight snaps jona williams had thirty three jelani mcdonald thirty six derek williams with twenty five
so it looks like the top three safeties might be black jona williams and jelani mcdonald i think that's how it'll play out over the and i mean because that's such a kobi black is is going to be your best guy in coverage early in the season i mean he played corner i mean he and that's so important i think in muskamp scheme i think there's a reason he moved him there it's going to be interesting to watch jona williams this the season plays out bobby how much more comfortable he gets in coverage if he gets if he starts to get a lot more comfortable in coverage on this level you just have to have enough football um then he he changes he changes this secondary a little bit because i think he's going to be a better playmaker on the ball and Zachary more thank you for your super chat Zachary he says can't wait to see our full playbook open this weekend also do doos Alexander at all miss is legit any basketball news uh yeah i think
look it's a why i was saying texas been game planning for this for months they're going to go for it obviously uh we're talking about arch you may not bring it out early but you're going to bring everything out you have to to try to win the game if the game calls for it as these coaches see how this game plays out in the flow of this game and the tempo of this game play out um so it's going to be great doos Alexander really good player um any basketball news number one prospect in america back in black obviously younger brother rhanthony black will visit texas officially this weekend women have four of the top 15 ranked players in the country visiting this weekend officially huge massive official visit weekend on the university of texas campus for all sports with Ohio state coming in i mean baseball salt you name it there's going to be huge visits on this campus this weekend a lot of football guys recruiting break down we're going to go over those tomorrow um as we continue to check check on some of those guys double check make sure they're still playing they come in it's going to be a massive visitors list in football but a massive visitors list
for the university of texas as a whole then our next super chat this morning fellas uh comes from Edward James he says is it just me uh or it has grace littleton been a day one stud coming out of high school what is the science behind that considering there are so many five stars that take longer to develop jerry um look seeing him in high school i went to see him the day after tech two days after texas offered him a wire grass ranch and you knew he was talented you talked to his that his coaches you knew he was a talented player i think some guys go beyond it because of their football maturity and they're they study the game on another level then they see the game on another level or old Thomas was like that or old Thomas wasn't he was recruited by a and m texas ls u o cloma but not everybody around america you know some guys are just going to go beyond it with football maturity and the way they uh the way they prepare and study the game and see the game i would i bet if you asked the wire grass ranch staff right now they would say he's even better
than we thought he would be and we knew he was really good because he didn't play nickel in high school right you didn't see that ability he played wider seaver he played some corner he played some safety he's really good kicker attorney you could see the athleticism he had but you'd never seen him play nickel bobby and cover a two way go right he's don't but i think his football intellect and his football maturity when we talk about some of these guys that's the difference last week uh i interviewed christ gilbert for longhorn network that interview is going to come out either today or tomorrow um and i asked him what is an indicator of success for not just for guys like grace and littleton but guys that play right away like a colin simons like a germane bishop like a derrick kooper richard wesley these guys and i didn't ask him any particular player right it's just like how what's the indicator of success for you guys that y'all look at behind the scenes and he he had an interesting talk it's not just
um do they love football jerry but do they ask the questions that show they're willing to sacrifice for football so in how they are almost um more mature about what they want out of football and how to go about getting it it was a really interesting answer that i think people will like because it certainly wasn't just oh they love they have to love football it was not just that platitude it was more about the what are they how did it wasn't tell me that you love football show me you love football yeah and grace and littleton i think to your point has shown he loves football whether it's in the film room the questions he asks of others and he's done it from the very start and i think that's the difference yes football maturity
yep okay i tell you what we got a lot more superchance to get to this morning but bobby i'm gonna go ahead and let's tell everyone one more time about long-horn wealth management group yeah absolutely thanks to our sponsor john donovan president long-horn wealth management group john's a proud texas ex-ex's life member who served on the doubtless texas exes board for 15 years and is now spent five years helping lead and support the growth of the newark howon county texas exes chapter john consistently serves his fellow long-horn as a certified financial planner and the founder of long-horn wealth management group the firm he created and dedicated to serving ut alums employees and fans all across the nation uh john wants to offer all of the otf family a free private financial consultation via zoom phone or in person to allow john to show you how working with a certified financial planner like john get help you maximize your wealth minimize your texas and ensure your legacy all while reducing the risks that could jeopardize your ultimate financial success please take time now to schedule your own free private consultation with john call
long-horn wealth team 972 707 4900 or schedule online at www.longhornwelf.net john along with wealth teams and a huge long-horn 100 winner hook them to all the otf family and let's beat Ohio State hook them from john in the long-horn wealth team our next superchat this morning fellow is another one from one guards i thank you again one he says if you're much champ what do you show these recruits like markis facatou and the edge committed to Ohio State uh DJ Jacob same for sark on the offensive side um i mean i i think a lot of the recruiting part of this is over um look i'm at DJ Jacobs the biggest threat to Ohio State right now is my to be clear um and they've been on him from an in aisle perspective for a while and texas trying to hang around the rim there um i i think more important than those guys is eastern royal
i mean eastern royal was at lsh saturday night i don't care what anybody says if you're from new orlands and you were at that event and you watched that team and that environment monday night that is going to have an emotional impact on you um that could not have gone better for lsh recruiting a wider seaver the other night trying to flip a wider seaver could not have gone better so i i think i'm more a little more focused on eastern royal right now in texas um because i i think he look these guys know they've had all the discussions with texas right they know markis facatou new will must-champs plan for him through the recruiting process right eastern royal is well aware of texas plan for him through sark and christ jax and conversations for a year plus so i do think there's an element of uh on the offensive side of an eastern royal i i think you need to play well and your big guys need to get the ball and get the ball in good spots and show that athleticism
because that was probably a sight to see for kid from new orlands saturday night so you can continue the rest of the year and then our next one guys is going to come from uh we got a couple on this so let's go ahead and get to these dj alixander uh along with j texan they both did you all see someone trying to take out arch before the game when he fell in the tunnel obviously he tripped on a camera man camera woman i guess i'd say uh that that's not the way you want a heizman campaign to end i'm reminded of uh that reminded me actually of uh the old show good times you remember that show and the the football player was marrying the daughter and he tripped on somebody going down the aisle and tours knee i was like uh this is not what we need we don't need to lose we don't need to lose uh the the star quarterback walking down the aisle they'll they'll clean
that up in the future they got to do something different than what they're doing let's just not safe all right and then we got a pair of supers from bobby patronik we'll start with this first one here we're going to have to be sneaky with motion and late shifts to get leverage and numbers to run the ball on the edges with our titans blocking in bobby's humble opinion what what did you think about that play the the first running ground touchdown run where texas had an inverted tight end in a bunch set and it was almost like a wingt pitch quick pitch left texas has run that play before with trea wizner and got nowhere this was the first time that play maybe they're blocking it up a little bit different bobby um this year but that to your point that was something they did and they got to the line relatively quick no motion out of it straight to it i think they they beat them to that
side and then we got another one from bobby he says i expect a high-estate to honest box us as they did last year to keep a lid on the passing attack we may not learn that much about it run blocky i agree didn't learn much about it last year right like texas state forced texas to throw the football because they knew they couldn't just line up and play an honest box oh how state doesn't necessarily feel that way they're gonna they're probably going to be willing to let you run the ball between the 20s i mean let is not the operative word i mean you have to be good enough but i don't see them with this hyper aggressive defense out of the gate they're probably gonna make you prove that you can move the football against them that's some consistency let's see then we got one from longhorn frenzy thank you longhorn frenzy appreciate you he says solid opening win overall i love the defensive intensity g h put some respect on the
number one after week one deep in number one defense in the nation that number one defense in the nation now build a statue ls she's saying i mean ls she's gonna change that that's at tember 26 i i i've got a bad feeling for the aggies on that one i'll just put it that way it's a revenge game it's a revenge game too for what's left of the ls she players from last year because they got smoked at home and it's the rare return home home and that's the week after all miss the bell is so they may be dead that may be a great time to get ls you they may be hyped up for me oh miss ls you beats all miss can you imagine what that crowd is going to be like when a and m comes to town the next week oh it will be a night game too yeah yeah yeah i think i think the beverage barns will be full or it will be empty by the end of the by the way the drive through the drive through liquor establishments and will be completely empty
oh yeah by the way get her back to use air zone of state come in the college station this week that's right taxi a hidden a hidden game this weekend amongst you know oh oh mama michigan's gonna get even more attention now because michigan should have lost then texas oha state's gonna carry the evening but a and m's got it they're gonna have to play well they'll have to play well you can't play green get it off the screen you can't you can't you can't play a c plus game it'd be there is only state my hood cares oh don't a don't a mclaude think you're a dumb chat that hit from black was furious says don't a i i said this in the post game i thought it was gonna be flag and you're gone i mean i you see you see those hits nowadays and you just automatically okay he's gone but you replay that the replay clearly shows he did not that it was a clean hit i'm i was i i couldn't believe it was a
clean hit but it was a hell of one the other hit that i thought was really good in this game all right in the game on Saturday was dary a snow on kick coverage he'd be cleated the return guy who was ill advised to take that out and he just took him down like what the 15 or something those are two really good hits i want i want to say something he just said this he just said this uh Kobe Black definitely found this right i 100% agree with that by the way i 100% agree with that i think that was a really good move by Will Mustrand you had to see was Kobe Black gonna buy into it but he's obviously bought into it because everybody wants to be a corner till they're not um hey word howard juniors going through that right now maybe a young kid like that will see Kobe Black and say if this is what texas wants me to play maybe i should give this a shot maybe they know what they're talking about and our final one
of the day fellas this one comes from Jeff Kerry think Jeff he says assuming Ohio State or Outrush Texas can our elite passing game make up for this deficit let's go once hmm i i think they've got an elite pass i think i mean frankly i i don't know that i would say oh issue will necessarily outrush texas i don't necessarily agree with that um i don't know that there's a debt i i guess my my take on this and um neither team play to team that could stop the other offense so i don't necessarily think texas state played with a lot of guys in the box you you're not going to block seven with five and i'm just not convinced texas has an issue that way
um quite yet so i would i would say i don't know for that i don't i don't buy that there's a deficit for texas at this point let's it may be the fact you may be right Jeff but i just don't i'm not buying it yet by the way i got to bring something up real quick black i know we got other stuff marcus posted something winning ham on underwood he's our cubie right now it's not something that's infinite back that foot barricades in trouble long term there we actually only have one left uh and it just came in and this is for you jerry texas fan and k c i just pulled the hammy oh wait i didn't don't worry i'm okay jerry uh i he this is he where this is coming from was a was relic browned at his best it was during the watch with us he ran across the in zone and gave the fake hammy pool i said he may have tweaked his hammy and then he started dancing after he got me really got me it's like oh no oh no oh man he might he might have tweaked his hammy and he starts
now i was like i'm never falling for this guy again that's why that's why uh kallon simons said he's the funniest guy on the team who knows what that guy pulls in a locker room and that's what coaches what you're never getting me again really i'm just anytime you have the ball i'm gonna turn my head not playing the game again it was i was there as watching it jerry's like oh no he tweaked his hammy and then he starts dancing to jerry goes oh he got me jerry became meek really quickly i was like well you're not getting me again really oh man hold me once yeah you know the sand love it all right guys that is gonna do it for this episode of coffee football presented by longhorn wealth management group we want to thank john and his team along with price picks mint mobile poncho outdoors and hay city store all for sponsoring today show of course thank you all for tuning in with us on this labor day holiday bobby what do you have later for everyone we got lunch with the coach we got steves our kiesian go into the mic as well as some players
