Good morning, guys.
It is Amanda and Baron with the A&C, the KSL and Radio.
Because Amanda and Baron are having conversation.
Yes, we are on the phone with us today.
We have Dan from Spring Hill Golf Club.
Good morning, Dan. How are you?
Good morning, guys. How are you? I'm doing great.
So good. So welcome back.
And then for listeners who may not be familiar,
tell us about Spring Hill Golf Club and what makes you guys unique in this area.
Well, Spring Hill Golf Club,
it's where Dan and Albany are again.
One of the coolest things about us is west of the Mississippi,
where the only golf course that has, I believe,
that has six par five, six par fours and six par three holes.
How much? Most golf courses are 12 par fours
and two or three par five, two or three par threes kind of things.
So that's pretty cool.
We are at Semite Private Golf Club.
So we have memberships,
which is a lot of our play, but then we also allow daily fee and public play as well.
Okay. And then where are you guys located?
And how convenient is it for golfers coming from Salem or surrounding communities?
We're super conveniently.
They said we're located and we're actually in North Albany.
So if you were coming from Salem,
you're going to come right south down I five.
I would say we're about three and a half miles right off of Bifive.
So whether you're Salem, Eugene,
we have a lot of members from the Dallas area.
So and if you're on West Southwest Salem,
a lot of people come down the back roads.
And it's and because we're in North Albany, it's even quicker.
I mean, depending on where in Salem, 20, 25 minutes.
Yeah, the back roads are not hard at all.
Good to you guys.
No, exactly.
And then how would you describe the course layout and the overall playing experience?
I know you went over the different parts.
Sure. So we're built in 1961.
So I would say it's a little more of a parkland style.
So we're old school. We have trees,
a little more of a traditional layout.
We're not exceptionally long.
But we do got to keep the ball in play.
So where we may lack some length,
we make up for it.
Would you need to be accurate off the tee?
But it makes it playable for pretty much any caliber player because the better player
that maybe wants to get a little closer to the green is going to have to really navigate the tightness.
But maybe a little older player or a senior player that doesn't hit it as far
with our three different tee setups,
they can still get it around the golf course and have a great time.
And you do watch day after it.
Because if you get in the tree there, it's hard to get out of it.
Hi, back.
Hi, back.
Hi, back.
Hi, back.
Hi, back.
Hey, guys.
Amanda and Barron and we are back again with Dan from Spring Hill Golf Club.
So let's talk about your guys' 30-30-30 membership.
You guys have an ad that's going out,
but maybe for those that haven't heard us, can you tell us a little bit about that?
Hi, certainly.
And this is our spring promotion to generate some new memberships.
And we're calling it the 30-30-30 membership promotion.
And what it is is we are going to sell 30 golf memberships,
whether it be family or single.
And we're going to be giving away $30,000 in membership promotion dollars.
And it's going to end on April 30th.
IE, the 30-30-30 membership promotion.
Okay, okay.
So who is this membership really designed to be, you know, who you're trying to go after, Dan?
Well, we're really going after people that are wanting to take the next step.
You've got a lot of people that just maybe play public golf or play occasionally.
This one is going to be really designed for someone that's finally looking to step up and join a club
that's in the affordable nature.
Single membership runs about $260 a month of families, $310 that's local.
And also offer, and if this is what's going to be great for the Salem area,
is an over 25-mile membership.
So if you live over 25 miles away from the club,
it's a discounted rate.
And you would still qualify for some of promotion dollars.
And how the promotion dollars are awarded,
is it's a dues credit each month that you're here.
And then if you sign up or have a current member as a sponsor, you guys split it.
So basically a new member would get 500 of the sponsoring member would get 500.
Or if you just sign up, you're going to get a $500 credit that's payable over 10 months.
It's a great way to save money and play more golf.
Okay, so in the 30, 30, 30, you mentioned $30,000.
Can you elaborate on that part?
Well, because we're capping this in only 30, we're only going to do 30 of these promotions.
And so in theory, every new member, there'd be a $1,000 promotion
for each 500 for the new member and $500 for the sponsoring member.
And that's how we split it.
So it's $1,000 awarded to two separate members.
And it's a way to encourage our current members to go grit that friend of theirs,
to come and enjoy, and both people are going to earn a little bit of a credit off of their monthly dues.
How does this compare to a traditional membership?
Well, it's going to really be our...
This is a traditional golf membership.
The advantage, obviously, is for this first 10 months or 12...
For the first whole year, you can really save it.
Now, save some money.
Now, the other thing is, there's no cap if you're a current member,
or let's say you join, and then you want to get two or three more buddies to join.
There's no cap on what your additional credit could be.
If you sign up and get two more friends to join,
you would get your portion of that credit towards your account as well.
So in theory, you get three or four or five friends.
One of you may not pay anything for a whole year to put all the golf you want.
Oh, wow. Okay. And then there's a time limit on this,
so people need to act fast, correct?
Yes. We are only going to do...
This is going to be for the first 30 memberships,
and we started this about two weeks ago.
I know we've sold eight or nine,
so I want to say it might be like the 20 or the 21, 30, 30 now.
It will, it will have a hard exchange of people for you.
So I'm excited for the first 30 memberships that we'll be doing this summer.
Or...
Hey guys, Amanda and Farron,
and we are back again with Dan from Spring Hill Golf Club.
So Dan, beyond the daily tea times,
what kinds of weeds or tournament seabuy toast?
Well, we do something really, really cool here.
It's called the Valley Cut Tournament Series.
We've been running it for this is going to be our third season. We have a lot of local sponsors and basically beginning in March.
We do a big tournament once a month this coming up middle of March is our one person scramble.
It's capped at 90 entries. I think we only have room for 10 or 15 more people.
So if you'd like to eat inside of now, but basically it's a season long tournament series.
We're once a month. We have a big large event. We have a payout for that tournament.
But then it's like the PGA tour and the FedEx cup points. You earn points for playing in events and how you finish.
And then we have bonus money or bonus shop credit payouts at the end of the year based on how many points you get.
So the more events you play, the more points you can earn, the more free stuff you can win at the end of the year.
That's cool. I mean, I never heard of one person scramble. How's your injury going to do that?
It is super fun. You just, you get hit each shot twice. It's tiring.
It is fun. Do you offer lessons or other programs for new golfers?
We do. I'm a PGA professional. I've been a golf pro for 30 years. I teach some.
I actually have an assistant, my assistant, Ryan Melton has been jumping in and he's been teaching a lot more.
But just give us a call in the golf shop or go to our website. We certainly can answer any questions you have.
And with spring, we're just around the corner. We can get you started on the right foot.
Awesome. And then can businesses or nonprofits host events or tournaments with you guys?
Definitely. Yep. We have, we have several events throughout the year.
Obviously, as we get into summer, it gets busier.
If that is, if you are a local business or nonprofit looking to have a tournament,
you definitely want to reach out sooner rather than later because prime dates do get filled.
Now, we don't, we won't just stuff the golf course all over the place because we do have a lot of members.
And we want to make sure they have access to the course.
So we do limit it on how many we will do.
So if it's something you're interested in, give us a call in the golf shop.
Okay. So tell us about the clubhouse experience.
Because I know you guys have a beautiful clubhouse there.
What can members and guests expect in 20 seconds?
We've got a geographic site swimming pool.
It is open all summer long as well as the biggest center of the site.
As well as the rest of it, we will have open it.
We'll be on the next site here.
Like a sandwich on the river.
We'll be able to make it quick right now.
Did I send it in there and we are back again with Dan from Spring Hill Golf Club.
So Dan, how would you describe the sense of community at Spring Hill?
Uh, it's awesome.
Albany is a relatively small town.
I mean, like 50,000 people, but because we can,
we're kind of a hub of activity here with we have the golf.
As I mentioned before, when you're chatting early,
we do have the general exercise swimming pool that is open all summer long.
And that is a private members only pool.
So for those families that maybe don't have the time to travel all over the United States all summer long,
it's like your little little little resort right at home where you can come in.
You're going to know kind of everybody you see there.
We have food and drinks that are sure of poolside and you can relax and hang out by the pool.
So that is that is used a lot by the families in the summer.
In addition to obviously a 18-hole,
par 72 championship golf course that is in great shape all summer long.
So if someone's ever played Spring Hill,
what would you say to convince them to book a tea time?
Well, why?
But that's kind of, that's it.
That is interesting.
I would say it's just a great fun golf course.
It is with the tree line fairways and our greens are usually in great, great shape
and we're not overly long.
I, there's been a lot of talk on the PGA tour about shortening the golf ball
and making the golf course as longer.
I think for most of us, it's already hard enough as it is.
And the fact that we have holes that you can
park forage and get two and two and without a lot of struggle,
it just makes it a fun play of a place that's always in great shape.
Okay.
And what's the best way for listeners to schedule around?
There's two, the easiest way is going to be going to our website,
Albany-golf.com.
So it's Albany-golf.com.
Or of course you can give us a call in the golf shop and we can get you taken care of.
Okay.
Are there any upcoming evils?
I think you mentioned that Spring Scrabble,
where some of the things are coming up you should know about.
That's our biggest one.
So March 14th is our spring kickoff event.
It's our first Valley Cup event of 2026.
It is a one-person scramble and then from there,
basically as the Valley Cup tournament series happens once a month.
We'll have one in April, we'll have one in May.
In June, we skipped July, then we go August,
September and then our closures in October.
Super, super fun.
All the information is on our website.
Of course you can set up and get our emails as well.
Or of course, give us a call in the golf shop.
We're happy to answer any questions you want.
And then there's one that starts in March.
It's the one that's the one person scramble.
So you're basically hitting two balls and then playing the best one, correct?
If it doesn't go on the whole, you get to hit each one twice.
And before we get everybody headed out on the golf course, I always remind them,
if you hit your Sunday best 300-yard drive right down the middle of the fairway,
you aren't required to hit a second one because I can promise you,
after you've hit every shot twice over 16-17 holes,
you're tired.
Playing 30-foot soles on golf, you can get tired.
So say that interview.
Okay, and then really quick run it down on the 30-30 in the last 20 seconds.
So we are doing 30 memberships with a $30,000 promotion credit.
Half goes to the sponsoring member, half goes to the new member.
And that's going to end April 30th or when we've sold 30 of those.
I believe we're sold now ready to die at 10.
So we're going to be probably the same.
21, 30, 30 memberships.
Okay, obviously, thank you so much.
Thank you so much.
Thank you, and we'll see you next time.
