All right, and welcome into fancy pros live on Twitch. And we're still nursing our hangovers coming off the fancy pros, fancy fest, and the after party, but the NFL never sleeps as the preseason continues with the full slate of games tonight. So we've got NFL Q&A coming your way right here on Twitch.tv slash fancy pros. I'm your host Seth Wilcock back with a man who has become very well known around these parts
for his short form content on fancy pros YouTube channel. He is Lucas Wensel. Lucas, great to have you here on the program. How are you on this fine Thursday afternoon? Any big plans on the agenda for the second to last weekend without pro football on the agenda? Well, great to be here. Thanks for the kind introduction too. Goodness, I'm just happy to make content. That's what I love doing. But nothing helps you, honest, nothing this weekend. You and I had the mic sound before we started sort of the live stream here. I just wanted moved into a new house and everything. So I am looking forward to a weekend of doing nothing after moving everything this last weekend. So you say big plans. My big plans are me and the couch this weekend. So nothing exciting for me. Hey, not too bad of a way to do it. I completely understand the move takes a lot out of you. I think I've, you know, before I moved into my house in the last year, I think I probably moved 10 times in the last 14 years. So completely understand that. Not a bad weekend to do it though. Of course, we've got week zero for college football firing up. I myself got roped into a late Saturday evening camping trip up to the lake.
So I'm going to be doing that with the wives and some friends and some kids. So that's really what I got going on. I'm sure I'll be on the clock a couple of different places as well as I seemingly have been on like across like five different platforms right now. So I'm just getting things to my email, things to my text, things to my notifications all day long. Lucas, any more drafts for you here so far this redraft season? Yeah, I've still got like my two most prominent homeligs coming up. So the one that I've been running a homelie for good is for going on like 12, 13 years now. Yeah, that draft is coming up Labor Day weekend. And then just started up actually a new keeper league this year with a few of my buddies as well. And that is a week. That was a week from yesterday. So six days away. So no, we're I'm in the thick of it. I like encourage all if I'm not the manager, I encourage all my other managers of like, hey, can we not draft like two weeks before the season? Can we wait as long as possible because it's been a landmine city here. It seems like over the last week and a half, two weeks. I couldn't agree more, dude. I have been just keeping my head on a swivel every second.
I feel like when I wake up and go to bed the last thing I'm doing is scrolling Adam Sheptors Twitter feed. You know, my wife's probably wondering like why the usage time is so high up on him and rap sheets profiles, right? But that's kind of what we have to do this time of year and excited dive into. I think I have about four drafts left. One, I still need to actually pick a date and a time for being a commissioner of rounds. So definitely, yeah, definitely need to get on that for sure. Looks like we have some fine folks joining us today as well. So go ahead and drop your questions below. And we'll be sure to get to them as many as we can over the next 45 to 60 minutes. And we want to make sure that you guys are using the fancy pros tools right now at fancy pros.com. Make sure you're checking out the whole suite over there. If you have your drafts, the fancy pros draft assistant is a must have. We just did a fancy pros inside our league here within the last couple of days that absolutely cleaned up in. It was a 16 team league and I was glad to have the assistant there with me. Also, make sure after the stream you guys are checking out the fancy pros YouTube channel and the podcast feed for full offerings of episodes and some short form content coming your way.
And also just one more time if you guys can do this quick favor and make sure you're following the channel. And if you aren't already subscribed right now, you can do so for free with Amazon Prime gaming. Looks like the questions are coming in fast and furious. First of all, I want to check in on some friends. We got Dresy checking in saying, hey, what's up, Dresy? Great to see you. We got TCB saying, howdy, Seth and Lucas good to see you. TCB, thanks for checking back in with us. And a whole lot of questions coming our way as well. Let's go ahead and start at the top here, Lucas with W Collins always front and center here saying, what's up boys? I have the fifth pick and in all my mocks. It's usually Puka JSN or CMC at that spot, which one would be the better option? I'm going to 12 team half PPR two riders here to running back one tight and a flex league. So pretty standard type of format here, Lucas. Who do you have the highest in your rankings? Because it is Puka to me, but JSN I do have at five overall. So I wouldn't mind taking him if people are going after Puka early in the draft despite some of the rumors floating around surrounding him right now.
Yeah, it's still Puka very clearly in my opinion because I just want the top pass catcher who can bring just top three numbers on what I think is the consensus agreement that the Rams are going to be the best offense at the NFL. So I'm with you on Puka. I would love to sit here and have a debate around how much do you dock Christian McCavry for a quote unquote tightness because he would be ahead of JSN. But as soon as I come out and you're like, okay, do I really want to play this game though? I think I still give JSN the safety edge there now, but once upon a time before Christian McCavry had whatever the heck tightness is, I did have him ahead of JSN. But it's it's Puka out of those three for me. Yeah, I talked to Dr. Deepak Jonah and Boggs on Monday on an episode and you know, Deepak really said that he was kind of a fan of CMC's plan to ramp up early in the preseason, then kind of ramp himself back down and then hopefully get back up to full speed by week one. So he's in on CMC. So I'm not overly concerned about the injury, but at the same time like this is always going to be a question mark with Christian McCavry. Erickson's gave us, you know, the laundry list of trends that do not support him reproducing his RB1 finish from a year ago.
So what we shall see, but definitely Puka is the clear one W Collins. If he's there for both Lucas and I, Reaper is checking in saying happy Thursday. Happy Thursday to two Reaper saying, what do you guys think of the top three most impactful pieces of news are in this year's draft for a standard league? So again, I think we're going to talk at the top of the draft, right? Like what's happening with Puka Nukua? Will there be a suspension? Christian McCavry will he be 100% healthy? But then even Lucas, we have this like slog of running backs in the second and third round, whether it's Kenneth Walker, whether it's down the board a little bit more Jeremiah. I love what's happening with him. Josh Jacobs, like Ash and Jenny that holds here that they're all kind of banged up. Those are kind of the biggest storylines to me. Do you have any other ones that you throw out there for Reapers to keep in mind? Yeah, I was going to say I feel like we could do three headlines alone on just the running back position with the first three rounds. And those are probably going to be the most important. I think the other one too, maybe that impacts fantasy rankings the most. I do think is the Jordan Tyson news, obviously, of him missing two months just because I think that that does wonders for Chris Alaves value this year in my opinion.
So that would be the other one, but I think I'm with you like the running back ones are the major ones you have to keep an eye on, especially Ash and Jenny. What the heck are we doing with his 80 feet now? So I'm 100% with you, but especially as we get closer to drafts like the Ash and Jenny pieces is the one that I am for sure keeping his close taps on as possible. Yeah, and I also think we need to keep in mind the Atlanta quarterback situation. We're going to hear more. There's some rumors flying around right now that to attack below up might be actually playing for a roster spot today that Michael Pennigs likely going to be the day one starter. So that might hurt Drake London in rankings a little bit. I don't think it takes B. Jean off his 101 or 102 however you like to cut him up at the top, but certainly, you know, Drake London and Kyle Pitz. We might have to adjust the rankings if it is Michael Panic's junior under center because I think a lot of us were kind of under the impression Lucas that it would be too attack below a for a week one because that's kind of why we thought they brought him in. Let's Michael Panic's kind of slow play and get back to health with his injury. Yeah, 100% that that seemed to be the like almost guaranteed to his playing at least four games this year.
He's fighting for a frickin' roster spot now. Yeah, oh brother, I can't imagine how bad the camp has been for him. Yeah, absolutely there with you shout your friends eDaddy, Rive Rio and Pac-Man Willie for some new followers to the channel. We really appreciate that support there and let's go ahead and no I did not see Seth. You see my discord PFP. No, I did not. I'll have to look at that that president my apologies for missing you there, but fancy pros.com slash chat. That's where you can find us over there. I'll make sure I check that out. I have gone to that's a thing I hate about direct messaging sometimes like no matter the platform sometimes a gift even accepted right. It's like not even like it's just going to be in my inbox. It's like this person has sent you a request to DM you like just I'm not that special. I ever met the DM me right so yeah, that's how I feel about it. Let's get to a question here from Dresy as well saying and a 10 man super flex dynasty league. My quarterbacks are Lamar stroud, Darnell and Nick should I move Lamar and if I do what should I look for in return. I'm not a contender this year. I'm kind of in a rebuild type of stage.
Lucas to me like I don't hate the idea if you have stroud, Darnell and Nick's already like can I sell Lamar for picks if I'm if I'm not contending right like 2027. We just did a preview of the class will be out on the dynasty channel a little bit later this afternoon. This is the loaded class that I'm trying to get first round picks and if I could get a 2027 a 2028 first maybe a 2027 second. But would that be something you would entertain for Lamar Jackson. I think I would I think whenever I consider a rebuild in dynasty though I do need to take the deep breath of like do I understand what I'm actually getting myself into right because it's easy in theory to say. I can just sell Lamar Jackson for picks but then the reality is you have to recognize no I am like I am sinking my team for the foreseeable. Oh yeah to three four five years right depending on what goes right and or wrong with your rebuild especially in a 10 man because it is scholars you need those difference makers exactly yes so that's that's my only like.
Pause on the question is like fully embrace that this is what you're getting yourself into if you're willing to take that plunge if you're willing to sacrifice the next two three four years by all means yes go see what picks you can get for the 2027 class because in a 10 man league I got to imagine people would be willing to pay up for those picks to get an edge at quarterback in what's you a smaller league specifically. Yeah and while you know Darnell and Stroud aren't going to get you quite the return that Lamar would float them around in a package see what you could get for maybe both of them or just you know put them with a skill position player or lesser pick see if you can get it in the 2027 first round but Driesy that that's really where I am by making trades at this point of the year when I don't know what my outlook looks like and you know because you say you're more of a rebuild but still in a 10 team league anything could happen you know 16s are probably making the playoffs that I imagine still so lots up in the air so yeah I like Luke. So yeah I like Lucas's thought that hey if you're going to sell Lamar just be you know be wary that it could be a long journey back to relevancy there for you dead zone specter checking in saying I have the number two pick in my keeper league Gibbs and B Jean cap sounds like Chase is going to be going first who is you guys go with second my keepers were a man on guy for the 11th round
Jackins for the 5th round would you want to go wider receiver first or stack another running back so basically we're looking at you know chase Gibbs be Jean off the board Puka is still who I have next on my redraft board all things considered yourself Lucas. Yeah that's exactly where I'm at as well assuming Puka isn't being kept either then yes that'd be my pick. Okay and we also have a little bit of a breaking headline news to get to as well the dolphins have traded wide receiver to to at well back the loss angels ramps in exchange for running back to charge ques hunter a talented guy come out of Auburn a couple years ago does this concern you at all if you're a Puka manager that maybe they think something is coming down their way or do you think this is just like hey the Rams have been looking for a third or fourth additional wide receiver out there and maybe that's to to at well coming back to town. Yeah I think I think the latter and to to at well have the familiarity in Los Angeles already and like I look I'm not going to pretend Jarco has Hunter moving off as like a big massive boost for Blake or anything but like is that also a vote of confidence and then the one to put on the ramps having
Kyron and Blake or then to so I think to to at well has the familiarity I'm sure that was kind of a we need somebody in here especially for bracing for Puka to miss time but I don't want to say it's a nothing burger but it's moving the needle like a fraction for me and like Puka comes down I'm not moving off of him. Sure, but I also wonder what that means in terms of the confidence and carbon was in Blake or that as well. Yeah, I mean I'm pretty in on both of them right now at current cost like I think Blake or him could honestly be a viable weekly flex especially if the Rams are playing in more positive game scripts and like truthfully their season doesn't start till what late November Thanksgiving time where they're going to have to really maybe dial Kyron back just a little bit maybe expand that Blake or workloads so yeah I'm there with you as well and before we keep moving just a quick reminder that if you are enjoying a stream make sure you guys are following us so you don't miss any other streams and if you also want to support the channel unlock some custom emotes and watch us add free consider subscribing it helps us keep these streams going all season long and let's see some of those subscribers in the chat if you guys are
subscriber go and drop some of the either the DJ Seth emoji or the old man Tycoon or oil drilling Seth too as well we have some fun ones over there so let's see those spam those in the chat for us that'd be super full up fun here's one from OJ Ricky. Hey guys just wondering if you guys had the fourth pick who you would pick up I'm mostly seeing Puka and I'm not really impressed with him with the injury impossible suspension so if you wanted to avoid Puka there at the 104 is this somewhere Lucas that you would consider going CMC or JSN is JSN for me kind of with the bullet if Chase is off the board and those top two running backs and I don't want to go Puka but would you make the argument that could be someone else. Could I also offer an Aman Ross Saint Brown if that is your favorite as well that's fine to have gone back and forth between him and JSN in my ranking so I know in our list earlier we talked about Puka JSN McCaffrey I would also slot Aman Ross Saint Brown in there if you really just want the consistency if you want the yes like I don't know how the Lions ended up I mean I know how they ended up with
the cakewalk schedule they finished last in the NFC North last year but when you look at the schedule you look at how how many games are playing indoors is your 12 to 17 games. Yes it's tempting it's really tempting to just say Aman Ross Saint Brown he's consistent wider see for three overall top five points per game. I why don't I just get consistency right off the bat and I can figure out the rest of my team based off of probably one of the safest players in the state of football so I might offer that to as an option if that's more of your yeah. Yeah I think the floor is definitely there I mean maybe this is the year I'm pretty high on Jared golf I got to take him to lead the NFL in passing yards of season I've been drafting James and Williams everywhere so I don't hate the fact that maybe you take him on raw he does feel a little bit safer than JSN JSN though might have just a little bit higher of a ceiling especially if that see it how defense falls off just a little bit this season playing tougher competition losing some of the pieces they did in free agency looks like we have some of our the spamming coming up the emojis some some old oil tycoon Seth emojis coming in from reapers and Collins and also Zouter using some of the fancy
pros emojis we appreciate you guys so much for subscribing here right on twitch.tv slash fantasy pros DPG up next okay well we just kind of got a good job yeah a lot of poofy questions so we'll leave that one there we kind of just shot shot it there DPG here's another one from Driesy is demonic clayboard worth picking up off of waivers I think he's worth having on the watch list but personally like I think he's still fighting an uphill battle being you know as low draft capital as he was he wasn't also as fast as I thought he was going to be in the 40 yard dash like I'm kind of lower on clayboard as a prospect what about yourself here Lucas do you have any more you know like to him in redraf purposes I think I like your answer best of keep him on the watch list without knowing the size of the league or like formatting roster size specifically I yeah I think he's probably more of a watch list player for me the reason why I'm intrigued is just because Aaron Jones is 30 plus how many years old what's his health like for the entire season I don't also don't want to like
roster in mongolay born to be like well Aaron Jones is going to miss five games this year well we don't know which five games he's actually going to miss right and at that point you're just clogging up a roster spot on the theoretical so yeah he's a watch list player for me I'm also just a huge Jordan Mason fan this year as well I think I think the Vikings really want to base their entire run game off of him and if they're going to be better this year that's a lot more scoring opportunities for Jordan Mason to to soak up a lot more of the work so not to turn a demand clayboard question into a Jordan Mason question point being watch list sure but it's more so perspective than anything else. Okay good stuff there also wanted to shadow our friends and Rico who just followed us and or just resub to actually for 12 months at year one thank you so much for that and Pat fan new follower reapers just kept their sub gift and continued their sub so thank you guys so much for that sport we really really appreciate that coming back in here to some more questions let's see is there a way to use draft assistance on mobile drafts or does that have to be on the computer I think you can use it both ways here killer I have definitely more leaned into doing it
like on my desktop but I think you can use it on the fancy pros app go in and download that app fancy pros dot com slash apps now get you over there but try it out let us know you can always message our customer support they have I think like a 99 guaranteed satisfaction rate and right now so AJ and and the boys will be out over there if you do have any issues with it killer but thanks so much for the question there not 100% sure on that but we will certainly get an answer for that okay yes and Sal let us know in the back and he is used it on the app for the Scott fish bowl it's easy so great stuff there Sal also Yoshi just gloom some new followers of coming our way and then we also bang bang sports 12 team super flex PPR 200 dollar auction do I keep JSN for $35 or DAC for 24 Lucas it feels like that's a value for JSN at 35 but you know getting a quarterback like DAC press got who seemingly a top 12 guy every season at 24 not bad either do you have a preference one way or the other in the super flex for bang bang give me the give the lead asset and JSN
there's just too many other quarterbacks I like this year that are kind of in this like quarterback eight to go all the way down to 18 tier with tack press got in my opinion so I think you only get one JSN for $35 you can get a lot of other back press calls for $24 in my opinion so that's that's 100% my opinion. What's your position here on the onesy positions is Josh Allen a steep pick for round three is what Pac-Man Willie wants to know and I'll tell you what I have him right now my overall rankings down at player 28 overall that being said I have not drafted Josh Allen really once in that range because to me it's really hard to sacrifice an elite running back or an elite wide receiver to go quarterback when you just said it lot of great quarterbacks I've been punning the position almost entirely most drafts where I've just been grabbing Malik Willis and like a Jared Gosley do you have do you have a different approach have you been taking Josh Allen drafts at all there was a time where it seemed like half the third round was dealing with an injury
in some capacity and I didn't like reaching into the fourth round for like the gold mine of wide receivers that exist there. So there there was like a maybe five day stretch from like you know what maybe Josh Allen actually is a good pick in round three because I get my lead asset I know he's going to produce versus anybody else right now I have no clue if they're going to be ready for week one now that the field is kind of sorted itself out a little bit. I've gone back to like I just can't help but look at bone X quarterback 14 Jared golf quarterback 16 kind of Murray 17 key I mean keep going down the list until you get to the Malik Willis of the world right. I that's way too tempting for me this year because frankly I just think we are better at drafting quarterbacks later than we are running backs or wider receivers later we just have a higher hit rate at doing so as a community so that's where it becomes hard for me of let me get a very good talented asset that we all draft well in round three compared to later I can get a quarterback that will probably I'll perform his ADP because we're just better at drafting them later it's just it's matter fact at this point.
I mean last year was Drake May right like I feel like everybody was on track. Yeah, like I can't even take credit for because every single analyst it felt like every player out there was because he felt like the obvious pick this year it feels like it's Malik Willis who is going to be one upside that we're drafting outside the top 20 so yeah it's shout to a Driesie little Joe or Rico over there on the baseball side things been a great job this season also guys make sure you're checking out the face pros cheat sheet creator take a few minutes ahead of your draft and make sure you check out our draft assistant as well. The draft assistance can provide expert recommendations for every single pick real time alerts and predictions for which players will make it back to you. Get the ultimate cheat code for your fancy draft at fancy pros dot com slash assistant or use the fancy pros app on that assistant you can also load those cheat sheets in from the cheat sheet creator if you're like hey I just want Seth Bullcock's rankings because they're the best you can put them in there if you're like I don't want Derek Brown's rankings because he's the worst you can do that as well all those great things are available for you right there fancy pros dot com slash assistant also check out the
cheat sheet creator and draft intel while you're at it get some league information go behind the scenes some over operations as well draft intel will hook you up right there face pros dot com slash intel find those trends see if anyone's taken an early quarterback in the third round or maybe you can pump that pack me and will you to the fourth let's get back some questions here ladies and gentlemen we got M F Blakely check it in what tier of wide receiver do you start to get concerned about with them being your wide receiver one Lucas if you start RBR be it's a lot of people I feel like are at the end of drafts you're coming back into that range where I've always been of the mindset if I'm at 12 I'm probably going RBR be but then I want like Ted Romic Millen is kind of like the last guy feel really comfortable as my wider receiver one and then I'm kind of shooting like the upside shot with players in a similar tier such as the mecca Buka and Garrett Wilson but Ted Romic Millen's really the last player I feel comfortable with what about yourself the new NFL season is here and you should be listening to NFL daily as we march along to Super Bowl 61 last year we had Mike

Some ways it already has Listen to Underground Zero on the I heart radio app Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcast
Yeah, that's that's the exact same for me. It's not even though you talked about Gary Wilson that opportunity I think that whole range of Chris Olave to Tedro McMillan and I would put Chris Olave more towards like the Nico Collins range but yeah That wide receiver what 13 to 21 range whoever's at the end of that tier I'm like after that like I still feel a little bit like Notz in my stomach that I have to digest that must my wide receiver one but thankfully like you said if you're like the 12th pick for instance It's not that unreasonable to think you can still get a T Higgins and Aladdin Maconkie and mecha and Booga and a Garrett Wilson right but If you only walk away with one of those guys that's where I start to get a little Who boy okay, we really got to start nailing our wide receiver picks and as the draft goes on it just like I mentioned early with the whole Josh how I think it just gets more difficult to do that as you get deeper into the like wide receiver 30 range and it seems like after Parker Washington Nobody wants to draft that range right so that's why I'm like if I can get two of those guys I feel much better if I only get one
Ted McMillan Garrett Wilson is kind of the bottoming out of that tier for me Okay, and W Colin saying dang he's thrown the shade on D bro when he's not I'm here. Hey, that's what you get over here at fancy pros We take shots at each other because we're all friends at the end of the day so let's go ahead here to Kyle saying just trade in my homes Christian at Watson and a 2027 Late second for Lamar Jackson So in verse of kind of what we just saw earlier where someone's acquiring Lamar Jackson in a PPR Superflex dynasty 12 team though this time Thoughts on that do you think that's fair? Late 2027 second my homes and Watson I think it's pricey, but I don't hate it if you're going to win now this season. Yeah, that's I think that's where I'm at as well Yeah Pricey, but if you are in a win now mode like go out and go on and get Lamar Jackson go out and get your guy who is the consensus quarterback to so Especially if you're not banking on my homes actually being fully healthy functional choose your word there after his injury
If you don't think Christian Watson can actually stay healthy the entire season a late 2027 second it's a loaded class But at least it's a later second right you know there's ways in which you can compute this out and say yeah Lamar Jackson is a complete win here But yeah, if you're winning now mode 100% Zouder the little baby tight question. Hey guys drafted chase this week now He's questionable should I drop him or do we think he'll be ready there for the start of the season? Yeah, absolutely dropped your March 8th. I think it's a great move for you That'll definitely win you your league Absolutely cherry pop ins OG. What's up guys fancy processcribing here. Thank you so much for that We really appreciate that cherry pop in OG Seeing the second round of a dicey league where I took Puka in the first where would you go for the second round Running back a cook Hampton and Hane or Hane are on the board. What do you think? I'm gonna guess this is not super flex since you went Puka and you're not concerned about getting a quarterback here in the second round I don't hate the idea of cook or Hampton those are kind of the guys I have right up there next in my dicey rankings
Hane quickly behind them though What about you Lucas do you like this strategy and do you have a running back in particularly that maybe sticks out to you? I Personally could see Hampton being the preference over James Cook here I like James Cook significantly more than Hampton significantly more I like James Cook more than Hampton this season because I think this could be the year where we get It was like, okay, we know James Cook is a pass catcher, but can he handle the workload? Okay, you can handle the workload Okay, can you keep up all the touchdown scoring while he might be able to so what if this year is like trifecta in which that all happens for James Cook so In a vacuum for this season. I think James Cook is a better better asset But over the long term like we might have a little bit more runway here with the marine Hampton So I think you can make the case either way if you want to just push the chips in now go hard this year I think James Cook is your answer, but Hampton's not gonna be too far behind and like I said We get a little bit more runway with him if you want to tie the break the tie there Yeah, I hope the rest of the chargers offensive lion can stay healthy They already lost in our Tyler Beatis to a torn ACL and he had some like additional left knee damage
So he's definitely done for this year Well, and like I don't want to say Tyler Beatis was he's not like a game wrecking center, right? He's not a Jason Kelsey type of level center But he is I would say a league average type of center so to lose him definitely hurts a little bit But I agree long terms you're looking for that runway Hampton would probably be my pick there as well Here's Rubik's checking in saying knowing Jonathan Taylor's injury history would you take James Cook over him in a ten man standard league? I think standard makes it interesting because James Cook definitely gets some of his value a little more than JT I feel like from the receiving game, but that being said like I do have JT a bit buried in my rankings Just because I'm a little concerned overall about the Colts and end of what's gonna happen here You know you got Daniel Jones coming off the injury Alif Pierce not 100% healthy We'll see what keen and Allen still has left in the tank So I would take James Cook pretty convincingly over JT in really any format what about yourself, pencil? Yeah, and I think the you named an important part of it here And in terms of of Rub Knowing Jonathan Taylor's injury history if that is a concern for you
And you just have more confidence you'll sleep better at night taking James Cook there I I'm very okay with that because similar to you Seth like I had my questions about JT since since the Full off season has kicked off here, so I Personally have more confidence in James Cook this year JT could absolutely still smash everyone's Yes, I don't want to like remove that from the table, but there's more question marks around the Colts offense and if you're really questioning Okay, do I want to trust JT's injury history? Well if you're gonna sleep better at night take James Cook because I wouldn't laugh at you for that Nobody else would laugh at you for that and I think that's a perfectly reasonable take to Yeah, and Driesy following up he said he has been offered my homes and a 27 first for Lamar Would you take that Lucas because like I feel like That's again telling me like you're definitely probably not competing for for this year But at the same time a 27 first and my homes two years from now that could look really really good Not knowing Driesy can you let us know if that guy is you know a competitor
And he's probably being the back after your league or not, but that would help a little bit not knowing that though Lucas Do you have a lean? Part of me says take Lamar because you are Take my homes in the first because Again, like you said in two years, I could look great if my homes returns to you know being a top five quarterback I'm a fantasy perspective. I know there's plenty we don't want to forecast too far into the future. We only know so much, but Part of me doesn't mind it Part of me doesn't mind that at all. I would love it if you get like a tiny little bit more of a sweetener Something that that might make it a little bit more enticing to move off the Lamar because it is a risk You're taking with my homes, but to have that as your base for Lamar. I think it's a great place to start your negotiations Yeah, see what else you can get there, you know keep digging But I think I think this is a great base of a trade and if you want Lamar off your roster and you're looking to acquire 207 first I think this is a good way to go about it where the cupboard is certainly not left bare there for you Carlos asking here a great question draft strategy for a chop leagues really Lucas when I'm looking for the
Is Gia team these chop these elimination style leagues one? I'm not inviting week one injury on my team Nope, like I am fating players who could not be out there for week one, you know, Ash and Gen T Jeremiah love CS. Sorry. You're off my draft board those types of players. I'm eliminating I'm also looking for teams with a really good run outs to the start of the season I love the start for the chargers I think they're gonna come out ablazing the Detroit Lions have a really good setup to start off their season as well Any other difference draft strategies come to mind for chop leagues for Carlos? Something that I have Experimented with is people keep talking about how the zero running back strategy is dead like nobody's doing it anymore this year I've tried implementing that in chop leagues the last few years that surprised me worked out really well for me and Part of it is you have to pick your spots and know which which points in your draft are worth selecting running backs But I've seen people who start off running back running back with their first two picks and then like we're talking like they're looking at Who's going in like that wide receiver 30 range right now that nobody wants to like Jaden read is their wide receiver one then I'm like
I just don't know if you can survive that through through three weeks Maybe you can get lucky by picking someone up off of a chop team eventually, but I've had luck when I when I start pretty heavy With the wide receiver and tight end department knowing I just get my advantages there It's almost like short sorting your short suiting yourself. Excuse me at a position with the intention of loading up everywhere else I'm not as concerned about getting a balanced team. I'm worried about getting the team that's going to score the most points on a given week I found more success doing that through wide receivers, but again That might just be how I drafted my luck over the last few years, but something I've experimented with and I found success on I don't hate that idea especially if you target those zero RB targets really specifically like again Tyler out here go get home because he might start week one right Mike Washington Jr Might be a certain week one Marshawn Lloyd these are kind of the running backs I think I'd be targeting late for you players You don't really have to sit and watch them develop quite as much Carlos So I like that play a lot Lucas because you are more likely to get you know a stud running back off the way
We're why then if someone's been cut early hit win RB heavy with that you know RB Approach there in the early round so love that here's another question coming from Aniko asking hey Jen's great show. Thank you so much for that. We appreciate that PPR keeper up to six up to six league Six point passing. I have the first two picks and then pick five and eight as well rebuilding a buka Tyler Warren May Josh Jacobs T Higgins water Swift and Hendo all available who to target I am thinking may a buka Warren for youth and upside what are your thoughts here? So this is interesting it feels like any aniko let us know if we're wrong on this But I'm guessing like it doesn't matter what round you pick them you can just keep them for whatever So if that's the case I think you're right on track with a buka Tyler Warren and May those would be my top three But I don't hate keeping someone like Jaylen Wattle either if I don't have to pay like a you know a difference in price tag Him and T Higgins and Josh Jacobs they're all top 40 players for me. Yeah Jaylen Wattle is the one name that I would consider throwing in there, but that is in my opinion
How concerned are you about the agbuka toast brain going into the season? Is that play into your decision making it all for me? I still have a booka ahead of Wattle, but I mean We're talking about the same same range of wide receiver here. I'm saying upside potential. So Oh, excuse me. Yeah, I think those are the ones that I would lean with a booka in there But again, if you have questions about agbuka's toe injury like I would not laugh at you for keeping Wattle Then stay because I love Jaylen Wattle just as much this year Okay fair enough here we got one coming in from Takila asking kept craft inflex or keep craft inflex or trade for DJ more If I have stripling pickins digs need three wide receivers I mean Ah, yeah, I don't hate the idea of going and get DJ more if those are your three wide receivers And you have to start three of them. I am a little sketchy on that. What about you Seb? Yeah, what about you Lucas? That's exactly where I'm at too And again, I don't want to act like John who Smith's signing is like tanking Tucker craft value to any extent
So that's a silly thing to have but Now with with developments of John who Smith he's a competent tight end who could take snaps away from Tucker craft Is at least early on in the season if they want him to have more of a ramp up period Yeah, I don't mind trading Tucker craft and getting a guy like DJ more especially Yeah, if it's stripling digs and pickins are your three wide receivers I'd like a little bit more firepower in that wide receiver room. I have more confidence in streaming tight ends then streaming of fourth wide receiver to pair with them Yeah, and it looks like craft was interesting as flex and anybody even have a better tight end than him You know one of the top four or five guys. So yeah, don't hate that approach at all kind of a follow up here on a buka It's he a risky pick at ADP Zagz asking because I mean he certainly could be he came out blazing hot last year He got the injury Baker got banged up and those things could unfold again Especially with him already dealing with an injury. I will say Todd bowls is always a bit hyperbolic with what he says about players injuries He said that about Bucky might be back sometime this summer sometime this fall Yeah, go go check out the episode we did on the fans for his YouTube channel after this show Zag
And hear what dr. Depak Chona and box had to say I thought it was a really good discussion But I do think a buka is risky, but like it's one of those like do you risk it for the biscuit right? Because I do think a buka in that range has wide receiver one upside Yeah, 100% I mean you you have to consider that he had the third wide as gap of expected fantasy points versus actual fantasy points last year You have to assume the execution is going to be there this year when you ship Mike Evans off to San Francisco as well So yeah risky You have to bake that in I also think that's being baked in at cost where he's currently going closer to wide or see for 20 Then he is wide or see for 10 right now where at one point he was being steamed up to that wide or see for 14 15 range so I think it's being baked in I'm willing to risk it for the biscuit because the upside is just simply too massive I think it's about a bigger may may feel pissed off playing for a contract. Oh, yeah, that's an explosion waiting to happen It feels like it feels like it's either gonna go one or two ways for Tampa Bay And their fancy assets this season see they're going all the way right all the way wrong. So uh
I'm gonna mess around and find out about it for sure though and this might be the hardest question of the night here from Pat fan 11776 Golf from Malik Willis PPR Superflex 10 team This is super tough like in a 10 team I am kind of more implored to go Willis because I think he has the lead upside that being said though Jared golf one of my favorite quarterback Sleepers this season as well. I think I have both these guys one and two in my sleeper rankings this year So what do you think here Lucas do you have a difference in opinion? I have Jared golf ranked higher, but I do think Malik Willis has the higher upside because of what he can do with his legs So my tiebreaker here would be do I have Jameson William Samlaporta or Aman Rossane Brown in my roster If I don't I'm probably gonna lean Willis, but if I can stack one of those two then I might give the lean to Jared golf just to yeah Again recognizing this it's not a best ball league just a PPR Superflex 10 team, but You know the edge matters I think in that case that's what would wait the tie for me But flat out if you have none of those lines players then I think I'm good just going Malik Willis there chasing the upside
Yeah, and I think it also matter like who is your quarterback one? Is it someone super safe? Like a Josh Allen or is it a bit riskier like a Jackson Dart that could go one in two ways or you know Kind of in that similar ball camp Can Caleb Williams Trevor Lawrence these guys who were breakouts last year continue that momentum So those I think would be the questions I would have there We're gonna get some more of your questions by the way But before we do a reminder that you can join our fantasy pros discord community We're always having a blast over there where you can chat with other fans and actually get access to exclusive AMAs that wind up on our podcast feed Our current schedule looks like this. Few meet with the next one I already have chase in a top running back in pick two Shago McBride or Josh Allen in round three I mean, it's tough to know without like saying if this is a 12 team league Let's just assume Lucas and Femi you can let us know in the chat if it's maybe not a 12 team league But I am like more inclined to go tight and early if I'm going to the third round I feel better about Brock Bowers personally, but either way I'm going tight end early before quarterback early yourself though Yeah, I'm leaning McBride and I also have the temptation to say who else is on the board Not because I'm like way out on Tray McBride, but again, we go back to this draft philosophy where I just think we're better at picking out quarterbacks later and there's a very good chance you can find a productive tight end on the way Rwire eventually as well Jawan Johnson was one of those guys last year right to a person league So you know in that case, maybe you get Tray McBride to like modify your your authoritarian agree
So I would I would lean those one of those lean one of those I would lean McBride over Josh Allen of those two Yeah, you know, I've talked a lot about this with Derek over the years and like As the league gets smaller, I'm more inclined to take an elite onesy position because I can I still don't want to fall behind at wider seaver and I think it's still like hey, let's make sure we're competing in that arms race at wider seaver and running back and I think if you're going to go with Tray McBride here in the third round of an 18 league like Then I'm just coming back and pounding wider seaver and running back for like five straight six straight rounds I'll figure out quarterback later. I don't think you get I would want to double dip But as the league expands like when you're in a 16 team league I feel less inclined to go after those I know quarterbacks do become a little bit more valuable But still I think having those position edges matters so much in the smaller types of formats. Yep. Here's one from kibbles Oh, hey guys love the show. Thanks so much for that cables. We appreciate your support if I smash one running back in the first Two or three rounds would you get a handcuffs say k-3 kiren or whoever
Or as quorum any standalone value. I do think Blake quorum I stand alone value Lucas I think with the potential for just being more ahead in games and really having to Make their season count at the end of it. I think quorum does have like rb3 stand-alone value that being said I am going after like I think Kenneth Walker is a clear handcuff. I think bejohn has a clear handcuff Aside from that though and obviously Gibbs. I guess if you want pacheco to but those are I do like the idea of going and getting those handcuffs But it just kind of depends on the backs because there are some teams are just gonna go to a committee and they can't really replace like an I'm Mary and Hampton. Do you want he and Mitch and you want vital? I'm not sure. Yeah, I'm with you on that and I also kind of care where these handcuffs go and drafts to because kirens a guy where I'm not gonna handcuff like quorum But again, I think they're standalone value there And I also think then you're just having two backs competing in the same backfield that are both getting playing time Quorum becomes a great option of kiren gets injured But like let's take christian McCaffrey's an example right calen black
And jordan james are going like in the 15th round or later of your fate is yes Like though those are free at the end of your draft So I also kind of care where I have to draft these players too and what What capital I'm sacrificing at the cost of that and as much as I love boy corm this year I'm 100% with you. I think he has great standalone value You know for a guy like kiren I'm not looking to handcuff him outright because of the cost of cattle as well So that's the other thing that I would consider here Sure, yeah, it's a great point if you're spending you know a third round pick on kiren biliams And then you have to come back in the you know Seventh eighth round and get Blake quorum it becomes a little bit more pricey I do like the security you're in a sleep well and I know that you have the ramp backfield Locked up especially after the trade earlier today, but yeah I don't hate that approach kibbles You know, it just kind of depends on the running back right and who if there is a clear number two in that offense And speaking on that kind of note it's okay to laugh great reminder there from our friend here on twitch saying Do I trade Mike washington to genty owner or stash if trade give me some realistic targets
Please wider Preferred so I don't hate the idea of this however, I also don't hate making that cost go up over the next two weeks seeing what happens if genty's not out there in week one I think you're gonna get more of a return in mic washington junior that said Lucas Do you like this approach and if so are there receiver targets you might be going after for a mic washington return? So my question is I always get concerned with this strategy of I want to deal mic washington to the genty manager Well the genty manager needs to agree on a price with you first and you're probably gonna want to upcharge him and they're not going to be willing to pay the upcharge price most likely so There's another part of me too then that's like actually the best ammunition you have is having somebody else's handcuffed because as soon as they're running back goes down Mike washington sky rockets right so I actually think I side with you here of I don't know if I'm ready to like do that yet mostly because I don't think I'm going to get the return I would actually want for the perceived value that Mike washington junior has so
Yeah, I'm gonna hold on to him And I just think that's still the best ammunition you have is that you have somebody else's handcuffs So when they really need them oh boy, they're gonna come begging and pleading when they do actually need him That's when you can really hike up the price or you just have a top 25 running back at your disposal then too And that's a great asset to have Yeah, and it would depend what this team has a couple of names that I thought might be interesting like if I can get in this conversation of players that we're kind of going at the back half of the first round early second round in rookie drafts if they have You know someone even out there like no more Cooper junior who hasn't had the best preseason who's kind of falling down Eli Stowers had a really bad Uh preseason and training camp it sounds like to Dejon's tripling kind of the opposite way where he's been rising up into that conversation Those would kind of be the players that I would be looking to grab if Jonah Coleman's out there right and I can trade a mic washing to To a Jonah Coleman like that would be something So just more of those other rookies I think but also like I think at the same time Don't be afraid if someone's willing to give up a 2027 second those are gonna be worth more than you know
The 2026 second you probably spent on micwashed in yeah, especially if you're in a dynasty like you can get really creative with that one Yes, yes, absolutely Here is a one from card a bucks fan saying super flex keeper Caleb Williams for a fifth or a mecca a buka for a ninth oh is This is tough man because Caleb Williams is in a fifth I think if there's a lot of other quarterbacks I would just have to bite the bull like if half the quarterback board is gone I think I would bite the bullet and go with Caleb Williams here But I do think a mecca buka might be a little bit more of a value But that said it's just gonna depend what the overall league does for me. What about you Luke? That's exactly where I'm at because to the eye I say oh yeah I can book a for a ninth But when you consider super flex okay if people are really white knuckling their quarterbacks here and don't want to let them go Yeah, at some point you just have to bite the bullet and say it's worth keeping Caleb Williams to keep uh to stay competitive in that department with my lean mates and not fall behind there either so Yeah, I think I side with you not knowing how the quarterbacks are exactly
Available in this league Okay, all right. Well good stuff there guys. Thank you so much for all the questions today We really appreciate you chiming in it's been a great last 45 or so minutes We had a fantastic time last night on the fancy pros fancy fest with you As well as everything else we've had going on with the content We'll get one more in here. We got a couple more minutes So if you guys have any final questions put them in here Hennians though asking hey fancy pros just curious if there are any first or second round running backs Who have secure handcuffs? So similar conversation Let's just go down the list be Jean Robinson. I mean Brian Robinson. Can we say that with with with you know certain Just make sure you draft the right one right away. Yes. Yep. Yeah, Jimmy your Gibbs Isaiah Pichecco. Yep, hands down Christian McCaffrey would say would not no, he doesn't have a clear one I have a preference of Jordan James, but again, he's been injured all preseason. So not a clear one What about James Cook because it always feels like Ray Davis will get the early down work But Ty Johnson definitely gonna be involved there too. Yeah I always I have a soft spot for Ray Davis because I do think he's probably the first man up
But you can't just count Ty Johnson as well who's I mean in that case he's gonna be the one catching passes probably not Ray Davis Sequan Berkeley I would say omarian definitely not you can kind of pick between Vidal and Keaton Mitchell Sequan I think you'd go after the tank right? Yeah, I have some really positive reports So I've got a lot of clicks in him in basketball draft. So yes, I yes tank big speed Yeah, yeah, and then let's see chase brown P Ryan's probably up next, but I wouldn't say it's a clear handcuff. No A-chan like allie Gordon's probably but I don't even I can't say that because we saw the right Just to get some steam. Yeah, so JT I think it's Seth McGowan is what we're kind of hearing out of camp and then I would say Kenneth Walker. It's probably it's probably the rookie coming out of Nebraska there So Emmett Johnson Ash and Gentie's gonna have Mike Washington Jr. Derek Henry I don't think there's a clear one there either No, because they're not gonna roll out Justice Hill as there in between the tackles guy He'll probably catch a handful of more passes play a few more downs, but no, he is not a direct handcuff to Derek Henry
And that's even adding Randall's kind of like Converted wider seabed running backs. No clear one there. Marshawn Lloyd like I'd say that's that's a We're all kind of end it here, but Marshawn Lloyd for Josh Jacobs He's more of a third round type of player at this point even falling down boards a little bit further, but yeah I think that would be your handcuff there TCB we did get to your question We don't hate the idea of taking loveland or maybe we did miss this I don't love linen warning It's it is an auction draft so Yeah, maybe maybe I just read this in my head and never said it out loud So Paul Paul is he's there TCB, but I don't hate the idea of it, but I don't want to overpay for for both those tight ends and be left with like scraps at wide receivers Because I think you need to compete there too, but you will put your legmates in an interesting spot where you know If they know they need a tight end this season you're the first one they're calling yeah I Part of me loves bully tight end, but the other part of me is man You just get to hung and dry at the more important positions Wide receiver and running back and I mean those two are they're gonna cost a penny for both of them
So yeah, you might be getting scraps at the other positions unfortunately and you know No one wants to be caught holding a zimmy or white bag Has there are B2 right so that that's the part that always scares me when you go aggressive strategies like that in auction So where's kind of bag to have there? No, it really is I don't think it's very in Yes, absolutely Thank you guys so much for joining us today on this fans football Q&A live right here on twitch.tv slash fancy pros We appreciate it and if you want to support the channel, please hit that fall button Also subscribe if you can every sub helps us bring you more content throughout the rest of the year for Lucas Wensel i'm Seth Woolcock and Sal in the back end take care y'all have a great blessed rest of your day Thank you.
