By Pat Fitzmorse and Jake Seely from The Athletic Guys, we had real NFL football on our screens last night. We're not going to deep dive in the game because it wasn't really that fun of a game for fantasy purposes. We had injuries, we had poor performances.

1:00It was a reminder of the ups and downs of the fantasy football season. It was a reminder of the downs, but still I would say also a reminder of the ups just by having football back on our screens. Very, very exciting. Fitz, how you feeling here? Now that the season is no longer just approaching, but actually here. I am really looking forward to doing the show again. Jake and I have gotten to argue lightly during the off season, but I'm looking forward to really mixing it up with Jake here as we do every week on this show. It's going to be a lot of fun. We've talked about players in a draft context for months, and now we get to talk about players in a weekly matchup context, and that's fun and different after being in draft mode for so long. Jake, what is that transition like for you this time every year? I always feel like it's just a very interesting mindset to be in where you spend so many months on the big picture. And very quickly you have to snap your fingers and start looking at the smaller picture. Yeah, it's a little bit of a transition, but it's also the beginning of the season where

2:01we're assuming what we know, like that's the thing is we do this every single year. We're assuming and we're basing a lot off off season talk. Previous performances I did my podcast and talk, I think that people based too much on last year as it is. Week one, I know you said we're not going to talk too much about it, but that was the thing is I went out with week one and said, you know what, I draft a Drake May as a top four or five quarter back early. I'm starting Drake May. I get it and it went up blow up in our faces for most of us, but like those are the things. And yeah, now we didn't see the injury coming. Now, you know, maybe we should have given a little bit more respect to the C York's defense, but that's just what we do at the beginning of the season. You try to put your best foot forward. I think sometimes we overthink too much, but maybe overthink you with Drake May was the right move. I'll say that. We're going to try to put our best foot forward here the rest of week one. This is going to be our typical Thursday show. If you haven't watched in previous years, we're running back the same format. We're going to have some must arts and must sit some waiver ads. Most weeks not this week, obviously, but kind of questioning the guys who are the most popular waiver ads of the week, how they stack up against some guys that you would normally

3:02be starting. We'll give you some touchdown calls at the end of the show. We're also going to plant our flag on some players at the beginning of every show. Just one guy from YouTube. You consider this sort of version of like a start of the week. This can be a bigger name or a smaller name. Just somebody that these guys really want to say, I am ahead of consensus on. I am really saying that they should be considered. I want to plant my flag on these names for this particular week. All of our weekly consensus rankings in 2026 and our tears as well can be found at fantasy pros.com slash rankings. Let's dive in. We'll start off with those player, flag players. Fitz, who's your first guy of the season? It's Juan Johnson, Saints tight end. I think he is a very promising matchup against the Lions. The Detroit offense is lethal and it's going to force the Saints to kind of keep the foot on the gas. With their offense and we know that Saints head coach, Kellyn Moore kind of like to operate that way anyway. He likes a fast pace. Saints Lions is a Vegas total of 49 and a half. Our colleague Andrew Erickson says at all the time, Ford Field is the Cours Field of

4:03the NFL. You get a lot of runs at Cours Field in Denver. You get a lot of points at Ford Field in Detroit. The Lions are going to be without star safeties, Brian Branch and Kirby Joseph early in the season with Branch and Joseph. And they played full seasons in 2023. The Lions allowed the second fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends. Last year, Branch missed five games. Joseph missed 11 games and the Lions saw the 15th fewest points per game to tight ends with both guys out. Detroit is a very favorable matchup for tight ends. Avanti, Maddox and Chuck Clark are going to be the starting safeties. That's not reassuring if you're a Lions fan. So there was a very clear during draft season fits. Top eight at the position. And now obviously we know, Bowers is playing this week. So they started like a top seven in the weekly rankings. John Johnson is just that side. It's a tight and nine. So he's one spot outside of that top seven. Would you consider starting Johnson over any of those guys that you were like very definitively drafting ahead of him? I have in my week one rankings.

5:03I have him just behind all of those guys. Well, obviously so Brock Bowers is out of the picture. I have John Johnson ranked eighth. So he's behind the other seven guys. Jake, what do you think about Johnson as a play this week? Yeah, it was one of the multiple two options that I put in there and then fifthsick and I think I said go right ahead because I think John Johnson is a great call. The thing with him is that I think a lot of people didn't realize he had almost 900 yards last year. And that's basically the situation he's walking into this season is that they don't have a number two. I know Veeley or Veeley is out there, which I almost put him as well because this is a guy who was a top 30. Why receiver in those four weeks he was healthy after she he was traded at the end of the season. So there's a lot of options here, but the biggest thing fit said to is that they're going to be pushing the pace. I am at nine. I'm assuming the only difference is that I have Kittle in front of him. I am playing the Kittle game. If I have Kittle, I'm starting because he's got top three upside and I know we're not talking about him right now. But I think that might be our only difference because I have Johnson just behind Goddard

6:06and fan it at nine. And he's in front of Sam Laporta for me. Goddard is ahead in the consensus as well. That's what drops Johnson to nine. Goddard is eight. Okay. Yeah. I mean, this is when I think we're just pretty much all on the same page. Jake, who's your player flag guy? You know, I still like Caleb Douglas, even with Chris Bell. Like long term, it is Chris Bell. Long term Chris Bell is the answer to be the one for the dolphins. This is somebody that if not injured, he probably would have been a first round in the NFL draft. And in the conversation, like just think about any of the wide receivers that went in the first round if they landed on dolphins as the clear number one, we'd be a little bit more excited and deservedly so even with Malik Willis, this people spent this off season talking about, oh, he's going to go to a team and he's going to get a chance to be the QB1. And then he goes to the dolphins. Everybody's like, man, never mind, which was just kind of weird because part of the appeal here is that the dolphins has no defense. Like we're going to get some passing and Malik Willis knows how to throw the ball. Caleb Douglas. I compared a little bit to Cedric Tillman, but Cedric Tillman is actually producing on

7:07the field. And that's the difference is that the big play is down field to touchdown upside of Caleb Douglas. So I would take Chris Bell 10 out of 10 times long term, but it sounds like week one is Douglas and Bell, which it was always Douglas and somebody this entire time. So I think Douglas, if you're looking for that Hail Mary, you lost in a wide receiver, maybe you know, you started AJ Brown and now you need to shoot for upside everywhere else because you got stuck with that from last night and you're kind of trying to decide between a Caleb Douglas and a Wondell Robinson or something like that. I would just take the chance on Caleb Douglas. Fitz, do you have any interest in starting Douglas? Are there any names that are, you know, obviously he's ranked pretty low in the week one rankings and consensus? Are there any names that, you know, might surprise people that you'd be willing to consider starting him over? Yeah, I mean, he's an interesting play. Kind of depends. Like, I don't think I have him high enough in my weekly rankings to consider, but I always do some adjustments leading up to it and the fact that, you know, the esteemed Mr. Jake Seely is touting Caleb Douglas makes me want to push up Caleb Douglas a little

8:09more. I have him in the 50s. Like, it's not like he's super high. This is like I said, this is a very scenario. That is still will ahead of consensus though, Jason. He's 71 for me, which does feel too low. I mean, it's funny that the Raiders Dolphins game has a Vegas total of last. I checked 40 and a half, one of the lowest totals on the board. These two secondary stink. Like and I'm going to talk about this later. We're going to want in a half. Is it? Okay. Yeah. Which is funny that like it hasn't, it's gone up with the Bowers news. Maybe it comes back down, but these are two of the worst defensive backfails in the NFL. And I think we're going to see points. The first one I have here is Travis H. Chan versus Ash Genti. Obviously, Genti, let's pay attention to the news, see what's going on. But teams who have been trending as of when I was putting the sheet together yesterday that he has a chance to play. This is obviously assuming that Genti plays. Genti versus H. Chan fits. Who do you rank higher? Ash, Genti.

10:11It sounds like he's good to go. The Raiders are really going to need him against the Dolphin. With Brock Bowers out, I'm fading the idea that Genti is going to be managed carefully. If he's active in this game. I'm definitely fading the idea that it's going to be some sort of time share with Genti and Mike Washington. Come on, because Mike Washington had a good preseason going against second and third teamers, like Ash Genti is one of the best running back prospects of the millennium. Mike Washington is an overage prospect who didn't really pop until his fifth college season. When I was talking about Johan Johnson a minute ago, I mentioned that Saints head coach Kellan Moore likes a fast pace in that Ford field is the course field of the NFL. That stuff does apply to ETN too, but ETN just doesn't have the same sort of matchup that Johan Johnson has in individual matchup. The line's a lot of the seventh fewest fantasy points to running backs the last season. Their run defense wasn't great down the stretch, but I don't know.

11:14Line's middle line backer, Jack Campbell is kind of where inside runs go to die. I like Genti here. You mentioned fits in the previous segment, how both the secondaries stink in this Raiders dolphins game. Do you think that the Raiders might come out trying to throw a lot because of that? I mean, dolphins are going to be battled way around pretty much so that doesn't really matter with Genti. I mean, maybe, but Genti's a heck of a pass catcher too. Yeah. All right, Jake, how do you see this and how are you ranking Genti and HN versus each other? Oh, I just want to acknowledge the first that fits just continues to hate Mike Washington is hated him this entire all season and continues to hate. I'm just messing with them. But the truth is as of today, I have Etchen, I'm going to just call him Etchen instead of HN. I'm going to give him the New Orleans part of it. Etchen, two spots in front of Genti just because the uncertainty, I do think that there is a split, but I'm with fits in the fact that I think it probably be 60, 40, 65, 35. Like it's not a split where I'm really concerned about Genti's value.

12:17This comes down to week one. What do we find out if we get a full practice report later today because we record this early on Thursday, full on Friday, I'll move Genti up. It just comes down to what is he right now and kind of like a rater situation is, do we need to really risk it in week one? So that comes down like I get everything you're saying. If it's like the dolphin should be easy, but at the same time, like part of me is like, well, then why do we kill Genti and week one? Where are you at, Jake, on HN just individually? Are you ahead below of consensus? I'll pull up where he's currently ranked. I think it's something like 18. I'm ahead because he's got no competition for touches right now, no Camara. I was concerned about him this entire off season, the fact that Camara went nowhere, but the fact until Camara comes back, I'm not worried about Kendra Miller. Like that. Look at the Notre Dame guy fading, Audric Estima. So depressing. I guess I knew who Estima was when he came out.

13:17He's a beneficiary of that offensive line. I was very high on Estima when he came out. Oh no, like yeah, you can go that. You can check the record on that one. Like I missed some things, but that was like, I said about Estima is that if the offensive line blocks three yards, he's going to get you four. If they block zero yards, he's going to get you one. If they like, you're going to get one yard after contact, basically, period. All right. All right. Let's go to another running back to Vat here. How about Jordan Mason versus Tony Pollard? Jake, I'll start with you on this one. I want to say, Jordan Mason. Like I really do believe that they are invested to the run to make this more balanced, but I still have Tony Pollard slightly in front just because I know that Tony Pollard is the lead option. I know Tony Pollard's going to leave the backfield. At least for an, it might, it might not only be 50, 55%, but I mean, that's kind of what we're hoping Jordan Mason can get back to. All the excitement from last year is why I think he's a good value for this season. But I'll take Tony Pollard just for week one with the hope that I'm switching that as early as next week because I have a lot of Jordan Mason because he was so much cheaper

14:17this year than he was last season. Tony Pollard's RB27 in consensus. And by the way, if I ever are referencing consensus rankings, I'm talking about half PPR. It's just simplest to always be referring to that. He's to RB27. Jordan Mason's RB32. So about five spots, well, exactly five spots apart there. But Fitz, I know you've been high on Jordan Mason, both kind of later in draft season from a season long view. And also for this week in some of the early week one shows we've talked about. So I'm wondering if you maybe have Mason higher than Pollard. Yeah, late in draft season, I was sprinting as fast as I could, which wasn't very fast. After the Jordan Mason bandwagon, as it was pulling out of the station, just barely was able to jump on before it got up to full speed. I took Mason in a few of my last fantasy drafts in 2026 after hearing from some smart people, including Robert Mays of of Jake's outfit, the athletic saying that Mason looks like he's ticketed to be the Vikings lead back in a redesigned running scheme that looks like a great fit

15:21for him. And meanwhile, like Jake, do we know for sure that Tony Pollard is going to be the lead back for the Titans, like the way they deployed their running backs in the preseason? Made it seem like a total time share between Pollard and Spiers. In fact, I think I played. I've done Spiers though before and that's the thing is that's my concern is that I feel like we've given the Spiers seven chances. We get a new play collar though. You know, it's it's table now. And I think on plays where in the preseason, starting QB cam ward was on the field with the rest of the Titans offensive starters, I think Spiers actually narrowly out snapped Pollard. So I don't know. Plus just with this dilemma, Mason versus Pollard, Vikings offense. This should be somewhere from respectable to good. And I think most people are expecting the Titans offense to be hot garbage juice this season. What do you think fits about these respective run defenses that they're facing? Just green Bay early on here and then the Jets, obviously that Pollard's going up against.

16:25Do you feel like one of those matchups is better than the other? Packers defense was not great against the run down the stretch last year, but they were also without Devante Wyatt and some of their other pieces. Like I think they're going to be just average until they get my comparisons back. Jets, kind of a mystery. Like I'm not really weighing that in so much as just more the caliber of the respective offenses. Okay. J.D. That's a deep view to simply. Yeah, I was going to say that's fair. I think we expect. And like that's the thing is I talk about all the time that defense has changed within season, well, all season off season. I mean, just the proof just from last night's game of what we could expect, like Patriots wise on that side of things. So like don't do too much in the defensive thing, but I will say what we expect is that the Jets are one of the best run defenses to face for running backs and one of the worst in the league, what we expect. If they're alongside the Packers into a similar situation, I understand them. Be clear, they are both in the same tier for me, but that's why you pick these players

17:26is because they're super close. I'm not going to. This isn't one. I push back as much as the Mac Mike Washington hate as I will on this one. Yeah. But by the way, speaking of the Mike Washington stuff, just a few minutes ago while we're recording, so I just want to read it. There was a quote from Dan Graziano from ESPN. The sense I get out of Vegas is that the Raiders feel running back ashen Gentie will be healthy enough to play in the opener. The team was never concerned that it was a serious issue. That said, the Raiders do love rookie running back Mike Washington, Jr. and he could get more reps than expected in week one because Gentie sat out so much practice time. So Fitz still probably doesn't believe that, but that was a quote that came out less than 10. I actually took Mike Washington in my very last draft of the 2026 fantasy draft season. There we go. So you have at least one one sheriff in there. Yeah, just quickly on on Mason and Pollard throughout that up, they're kind of ranked in a range where I think it's very possible that there are teams out there who have to decide on them in the flex. I didn't put them as a flex option here in today's kind of show, but the sorts of wide

18:28receivers that are ranked around them. Do you guys feel like you would be leaning towards the receivers or towards one of these running backs? So it fits. I imagine you would say you would still be going Mason just because you've been sort of not planting your flag, but like kind of going in that direction or are there receivers in this range that you would rather start over? Give me the names of some of the receivers in that approximate range. Let's pull it up here. I should have done that before. I've got a question. Not your head. Marvin Harrison, Chris Godwin, Quentin Johnston, Terry McCloreans right next to Tony Pollard and consensus rankings in the flex rankings. Like I'm taking most of these wide receivers just because Michael Pitman, Carl Tate, my healthy Michael Pitman, I would think tight, I could go back and forth on, but I'd to answer first like, well, fences thinking about it over there. I'm going most of these wide receivers, including like the upside of Quentin Johnston versus what we don't know the split will be for any of these. Like we're assuming, but that's why I would just go with the wide receiver. Pollard is next to like Parker Washington, Mike Evans, Roman, like that with that one,

19:30I think it was pretty easy for us. But yeah, where Mason is in the flex rankings, it's yet Quentin Sutton, Quentin Johnston, like Jake mentioned, some of those other names. Yeah. I do think in our any ER this week, Mason is vastly undervalued and Pollard vastly overvalued. Okay. I mean, I have a fairly, I only have Mason rank three spots higher than Pollard, but I think most people have Pollard probably like the wider spots ahead of Mason, which is kind of nuts. Yeah. You were going to say it. You said preposterous. I heard it preposterous. I'm starting to say. All right. Let's let's let's we've spent enough time with that. Let's go to the wide receiver debate. Teterobic mill and versus a flowers is the first one I have here. Let me double check where they are currently in ECR because this can change throughout the week. That's usually in week one. Yeah. They are wide receiver 13 and wide receiver 16 here. So both ranked obviously in ranges where you want to start one of them, but in the scenario where somebody went, you know, heavy in other positions and you know, actually does have

20:35to make this decision. Where are you going with this one fits? No offense to our resident Ravens fan. Warm, you know, I'm a Zay flowers advocates. And you know, I'm not. So I this I will not take offense to this for sure. But I would go with Teteroma McMillan here. The Chicago Bears defense is going to be really bad this season. Chicago is going to be a defense. We will target in fantasy all year. And one of the few bright spots on their defense is cornerback Jalen Johnson, but Johnson, like, he's going to get some FaceTime with McMillan. It's just really hard for cornerbacks to hold up in coverage and for zone coverage to stay intact when the pass rush can't get home. And lack of pass rush is the biggest concern for the Chicago Bears in 2026. So this is a favorable matchup for McMillan who I think is a chance to get into the CD lamb George Pickens tier of wide receivers this year. Like this guy is really good. He came in as an early declare rookie last year and had a thousand receiving yards with

21:37a quarterback who average six point four yards per attempt. Like McMillan is a future star. Zay flowers really good to, but so are the Colts cornerbacks. Sauce gardener and Sharvarious Ward. Like Sharvarious Ward is not often healthy. He's missed 15 games over the last two years, but he is excellent with healthy and everyone knows that sauce is awesome. Plus, flowers has been dealing with this hamstring injury. Seems like it's not that big of a deal. And he's expected to play, but there's at least a slight element of risk there. So I'm going with McMillan. Strong hands built America and kept it running for 250 years. Strong hands also keep Copenhagen moving today. I feel like despite the fact that both guys are ranked very highly in consensus fits, I do. I think with both of them, the risk is not with the talent of either player in my opinion. It's what you laid out with Zayn. Also, the Ravens, when they've had a new offensive coordinator with Lamar Jackson, I've talked about the slot like he's won the MVP both times it's happened.

24:42They've also come out hot very quickly. I think back to that 2019 game first game with Greg Roman, where they won what was it? 57-3 against the Dolphins. They have not needed a ramp-up period in new offenses always. I wonder if this offense, they've talked a lot about it being a lot more detail oriented and a little bit more complicated to some of these past offenses. I wonder if there is more of a ramp-up period for this passing game. Also, just the fact that Lamar didn't play in the preseason, neither did any of these starters. All of that is in the back of my mind for Zayn for week one. Then with Tedoroma Mille, it's just like as great a player as he is and I have no doubt and it's bad defense as he's facing is his offensive environment going to be enough for him to really smash in the way that his talent with GXC can. Fits, I think it's interesting, I don't think you are picking the wrong side here. I think it's close between them. That's why I picked these two names. I do think there is an interesting risk to both of them despite their high rankings here. Jacob Curious what direction you would go between Tedoroma Mille and Zayn. I was looking for something to do with this because I'm going to do it and see if I can

25:42throw it back at Fits. There is his argument for the better offense and that's what I'm doing here. When it comes to this range, I'm chasing Zayn Flowers in the better offense, the better quarterback. I'm not worried about them not playing together with that. Dioil's possible changes, more inner center, more play action, whatever it might be. As the one thing I knew, if this was a new wide receiver coming to the Ravens or a rookie, like Jacobi Lane and what we saw in the preseason, but without Lamar Jackson, I'd be more concerned. But I'm just going to go for Zayn Flowers because we got what we wanted. Finally, Zayn Flowers is a complete season of a sending to wide receiver one status. I don't want to take anything away from Tedoroma Mille and I actually agree with Fits and one thing is if we're talking in preseason, I actually thought he was getting too much hate. We got a pretty terrific rookie season from Tedoroma Mille and even with Bryce Young. But I think that's the biggest thing is we're hoping that Canalus and that his system is finally clicking. It usually takes a while for these offensive changes to happen. He has been a master at times, but some people attribute that to saying like, well, he had a better talent than Bryce Young.

26:44As of right now, it's hard to argue differently. At least a week one, I'm going for Zayn Flowers with rooting that Fits is the least on point. I still want to be right, but I'm hoping Tedoroma Mille is right there with them because I do have a lot of McMillan this year. Where are these two guys ranked for you, Fits? Zayn Flowers, why do you see for 13, Tedoroma Mille, why do you see for 16 in consensus? I have got Tedoroma Mille at wide receiver 12 and Zayn Flowers, so why do you see for 18? Okay. So you're lower on Zayn. I have them flipped. 12 and 18. Exactly. Yeah. So Jake is closer to consensus. He's one spot higher on Zayn, two spots lower on McMillan, Fits your further off. You're about as low relative to consensus on flowers as you are high on McMillan relatives to consensus. Off-matchup, man. Those cornerbacks are good. And by the way, this fun matchup in that it's sort of revisits that bears Panthers trade

27:46that gave these two teams the quarterbacks they now have. Yeah. Yeah. That's a fun one on the Caroline Chicago less fun for Panthers fans than for bearers fans. Maybe just a little bit. All right. Let's go to another wide receiver debate here about Marvin Harrison Jr. versus Michael Pittman, two names that we mentioned, kind of ranked in that flex range around the Jordan Mason's of the world. But we're talking about receivers here. Let's say you went strong at running back and you need to make this receiver decision. Are you doing here Jake? I like them both as wide receiver three is honestly and I've been champion that the fact that Marvin Harrison was treated as the number one with the fact that all three being healthy, which is Kobe percent, maybe a Michael Wilson, Charlie McBride and Marvin Harrison all three together. It's a very small sample is basically like three and a half games, but Marvin Harrison was treated like the one that all the said a healthy Michael Pittman, I think might actually be there's a chance. I want to pin it on it. But I think there's a chance he might be the more valuable wide receiver than DK Metcalf with the Steelers this year under Michael Carthy.

28:48So given that and against Atlanta, which is missing a lot of pieces, including the injury straight out from their rookie, like I just think there's an opportunity here for them to come out strong. And I believe that it's going to be a slightly like when I'm looking at the Steelers versus the Cardinals, I'm hoping that that Harrison thing carries over. I still think that Brides, the one and we're trying to figure out Harrison or Wilson. I would be surprised if I'm wrong. And Michael Wilson ends up being the two. The one thing I know about the Steelers, the one and the two is DK Metcalf and Pittman. There's no conversation. There's no concern. There's no tight end involvement that we have to be worried about. That would be some, I mean, as into the level of McBride. So it just comes down to that. It's very close. This is another one. I'm not going to say you're crazy to disagree with me. It's just I'm going to take what I believe is a top two target share versus three people where I don't know that Marvin Harrison is definitely the number two. I've been kind of operating Jake for this game in particular. As if I kind of think the Steelers are just going to smash the Falcons and maybe not really need to throw all that much. So even if he is like the clear number two. I always get that argument.

29:49Like, let's just like, and I'm not coming for you. This is just like I hate going that direction because it is a valid point, but it's it's crutchiness at the same time because if they get up 21 to nothing, the chances that it was all run and no Michael Pittman is there. The chance is there and then they don't need Michael Pittman to throw after that. But I'm just saying like you get up to two, three, four scores. A lot of times, well, somebody was involved getting there. So that's like, we've been I use it a little bit more for running back as in I wouldn't worry about it too much because there's a good chance to run back out there and will be used to grind out the clock. But I just I don't want to fall into that trap too much. We've been surprised before to go back to one weeks, one, two and three last year where people had eight, nine, ten point edges and ended up being a loss and it was competitive the entire time. So that's that's I don't not coming for you. I'm just saying like I just don't want to use that too much as an argument. Also, have you seen what the number is on this game? It's Steelers by it's like three and a half. Right. Yeah. You would think it would be a lot more but shocking.

30:49I think it might be a remnant of the Mike Tomlin Steelers where when you think the Steelers are going to smash someone, they always lay in egg. And whenever you think the Steelers are completely overmatched, they play a whale of a game and like make it either nail bite or win. And that's how it always was under Tomlin. I don't know if that continues with Mike McCarthy, but like I think I might end up being raw Steelers minus three and a half is my favorite bet of the entire. It looks good, but I'm this front against two like I would be different if it was Patex the front against two in Pittsburgh. I'm like and you know, Rodgers as healthy as he will be, you know, at his age, starting a season, Mike McCarthy has his flaws. But he's a good regular season coach. Like I think that my Steelers are going to want to buy my betting pros app tells me that over the last five years, I've had the most success with all the NFL teams that the most success betting the Steelers because I've recognized the Mike Tomlin pattern and have played that like when this looks like a soccer play. If this was Mike Tomlin, I bet the Thawkins.

31:51I think that's very fair. Yeah, I, yeah, that's my, that's my, my stance on that game. For this particular debate, though, fits Marvin Harris Jr. or Michael Pittman, do you have a lean? I think I drafted Michael Pittman once in my many spring and summer drafts and I don't think I drafted DK Matt Caffat all. I just, I don't want wide receivers in the Pittsburgh offense, which is just so constricted with late career Aaron Rodgers. I mean, maybe Pittman can kind of work with Rodgers and Jake was just hinting at this since Pittman is more of a short range intermediate target than DK is. But I'm just not very interested in tapping the Pittsburgh passing game for fantasy. Also, the Thawkins look like a really bad team on paper, but one of their few strengths is their defensive backfield. They've got the Tarell brothers, A.J. and A.V. on. They've got a really good pair of safeties with Jesse Bates and Xavier Watts. They've got slot corner Billy Bowman coming back from injury. And yeah, I have been kind of skeptical about Marvin Harrison, junior,

32:52taking things to another level after the disappointing start to his career. But I've at least a little bit of hope that things are going to look a little different for him in Michael Flores offense. So I would play Marvin Harrison, junior. I drafted fits more Marvin Harrison, junior than I intended. Same as draft season. It wasn't really a goal, but I just kind of ended up with him in a lot of spots where I was like, he's sort of the last receiver in the draft rankings that I was like, I can build at least a case for some upside here. I felt like there was a real gap between the top 30, 31 guys and everybody else. And I did have Pittman on the other side of that and Harrison sort of as the last on the upside side. So I do, I do have a lot more Harrison than Pittman. And I recognize there's a lot of, there are a lot of paths here where that doesn't play out. And it was it like, I mean, that's why he was going outside the top 30, right? It's not like there was a ton of risk associated with his draft capital. But I want to see, I want to give him one more chance. And I want to see kind of if there's real upside here because I drafted him as if there maybe could be.

We don't have to lighten around these, but we'll move a little quicker on these as we try to get through a lot more names for everybody here on this show every week. At running back, I actually want to stick with the Steelers conversation we were just having. How about Rico Dotto versus Jalen Warren? Fitz, do you have a favorite in this game? Where, like I said, I kind of expect the Steelers to win by lots. So maybe the running game is a good place to look, which Steelers running back? Do you prefer? I definitely have a favorite. And this has been a big point of contention between me and some other people in the off season. I was just talking about late career Aaron Rogers and what that has looked like for

35:56the Steelers. I think Jalen Warren is just a much, much better fit for late career Aaron Rogers than Rico Dotto is. Rogers can't move anymore and does not want to take hits. He needs a running back who can block for him and catch passes. Jalen Warren is a much better pass catcher and pass blocker than Rico Dotto is. And I personally think Jalen Warren is a better runner than Rico is too. Fitz or some of Jake, do you have a preference? Yeah, it's, we've had this conversation. I'm on the opposite side of it. I think that Rico Dotto with Mike McCarthy, part of the pulling similar to he talked about Wando Robins with Brian Dable and the connection there. I think Rico Dotto is better three down than Jalen Warren is. I don't disagree with the past blocking concerns, but I'm not worried enough to say that he won't be a split in the lead. I think this is going to be 55, 45, maybe even 50, 50, Naja Harris, Jalen Warren that we've done it for years back in the day. But I just think the split is in that direction. And I'm a split in a game where I expect them. I will agree and go back to what you were saying before warm is that I do think the Steelers are going to be in the control in this game.

36:57So I would take doubtful and control games. I would take warning games where I think they're going to have to pass more and play catch up to agree with Fitz is concerned there. But this is one of the games where I do think it leans towards dad. But this is why I wanted to avoid the backfield because I don't want to try and play that game every single week. That is the point. I was actually going to follow up with you on Fitz is, you know, if I am right about the way this how I think this game is going to play out, do you think that would maybe skew it in doubtless favor? Not really. I don't know. I'm just I'm rejecting the whole McCarthy doubtful narrative because McCarthy had doubtful the year Tony Pollard was coming off that leg injury. He had sustained the previous playoffs and like just was not good that whole next season. And Rico doubtful couldn't get on the field. Doubtful I like 70 carries that next year, even though Tony Pollard was really mediocre. So I just I don't think like I'm not buying the Mike McCarthy loves Rico doubtful narrative. But man, this backfield like this is why you should never draft two guys in a split backfield

38:02because it's possible that this is a 50 50 and you will be pulling your hair out every week trying to figure out the right guy if that's the case. Let's go to a wider seabour one here. How about Quentin Johnson versus Stefan digs Jake? I'm going for the upside. I do believe that Stefan digs is probably going to be one of the beneficiaries if that Jayden Daniels doesn't have time behind what is being called the worst offensive line. We've seen in 10 years by some people. Everybody covering this team is saying it's worrisome. How bad it looks. So what does that mean? Potentially more for Stefan digs, but at the same time, you know, what if it's seven targets and average depth of target six? It's just because like so I'm just going to take the upside of what I've been on for Quentin Johnson this preseason. It could turn into a goose egg. It could be that bad, but especially in a game where we suspect the charges to be in control. But I just think that Quentin Johnson has a chance to be the Tyree kill version that he's not Tyree kill. But when you're talking about Tyree kill and Jalen Wattle and you're talking about Quentin Johnson and Lamaconkey will Lamaconkey and Jalen Wattle go a lot better together than

39:03Quentin Johnson. But using Quentin Johnson more than just go down 20 yards down field every single time. But even if so, to be that's what I was bringing up the bigger playability, the bigger upside of Tyree kill on a per pass basis, I'm going to chase that at least in week one versus these two. Fitz, I had digs ranked higher than Johnston and draft season, but tough matchup, horrific offensive line. What do you think for the week one? Yeah, I swear to you, dear viewers, there will be shows, starts that shows this season where Jake, Celia and I agree on things, but apparently this is not going to be one of those shows because we are diametrically opposed on everything. I'm going QJ here. I am optimistic that Mike McDaniel can tap into Quentin Johnson's catcher on ability. Digs matchup against the Eagles just scares me. A good defensive backfield in Philly just got even better with the addition of Ric Wallen. Plus, Stefan digs and Jane Daniels have never played a regular season game together. Justin Herbert and Quentin Johnson have played a lot of games together.

40:05Yeah. Let's do some flex questions here. One with a couple of big names. I wanted to do one again, talking about this Atlanta Steelers game. I wanted to get one on Drake London with Tuah at quarterback because I know that was a reason that some of us at Fantasy Pros were fading him during draft season was because of the quarterback question mark. So Drake London first, Bruce Hall fits. Who do you like at Flex if you have a very strong team? This is really hard. I've got them side by side in my flex rankings with Drake London one spot higher. But honestly with my concern about what Tuah Tunga Velo is going to look like against the Steelers defense in Pittsburgh, it's going to be Bruce Hall for me. Jake? Yeah, this is a close one to you, but between the two, I like the Bruce Hall upside if he's 100% and I think the two of concern is enough that Drake London, Bruce Hall will be a tough call with Penex and this kind of makes it just easier for Bruce at this point. We agree. Yeah. There you go. Fitz did promise it would happen.

41:05By the way, just quickly, where do you guys have Drake London ranked amongst receivers? He's wide receiver 10, but again, with Tuah at Pittsburgh, like that makes me pretty nervous. If you look at Fantasy Pros, they have like kind of upside sentiment and consensus like bust sentiment. His bust ranking is like the highest of anybody in the top 15 by a wide margin at receivers. Jake, where is he ranked for you? 14, I'm behind Hagen's Flowers, Devonta, AJ Brown. That was fun. And up from there, but I'm 14. Fitz. 11 and it scares me. 11 is scary. OK. Let's do another flex one here. How about Jalen Waddle versus Basel Tutin? Fitz, who's your favorite of those two? Jalen Waddle. We just don't know what sort of role Basel Tutin is going to have early on and while the Jaguars are probably going to get a run friendly game script at home against the Browns, I don't want to start a guy who could potentially be a committee back over a top 20 wide receiver. Jake? Yeah, this one is almost back to back for me. I do have to and barely in front, but this one comes down to it. It's the even in what we don't know what the split is going to be.

42:06I know Tutin's going to get touches and I expect Jalen Waddle to get targets. It just comes down to unless you need to guarantee you're going to get some points. I will go out. I just the guarantee is that Tutin is going to touch the ball at least half the time. So that's really what it comes down to. If you don't want to risk the potential to like a J Brown situation without injury, like just it's a bad game that we don't expect. That would be the only concern, but I don't expect that. Where is Waddle ranked for you against this new level? They're both in the 40s overall in the 40s. Why receiver? A flex. Yeah, yeah. A flex. Yeah. A flex. Why receiver is pushing top 20, I think? Fits somewhere, range for you. Oh, are we talking about Waddle overall or? Either overall 40s, a receiver around that top point. Positional. I've got Waddle wide receiver 19. Okay. Yeah. Let's actually stick with Denver. How about JK Dobbins versus DK Metcalf? Jake, I'll start with you on this one. And Tilly gets hurt. JK Dobbins. It's just really comes down to bring up the fact before where I said it wouldn't shock

43:08me if Pitman is the better wide receiver fantasy value wise than DK Metcalf. So as long as Dobbins is healthy, we've seen it before. Top 20 running back. And I know there's concerns about Jonah Coleman, but that's more for me if Dobbins gets hurt. So all healthy is JK Dobbins for me. Yeah, I got to say, JK Dobbins is ranked in the week one rankings really close to where he was in the draft rankings. That surprised me. The reason that there was hesitation on ranking him higher in draft rankings for me was injury related. When he's healthy to your point, Jake, I thought he was going to be higher. These are be 31 in the consensus week one rankings. That feels low to me even in Kansas City. I do think there are legitimate concerns that Jonah Coleman could turn this into a three headed backfield, which and we have seen Sean Payne used three headed backfields into Orleans before. So if Coleman is any good, that's what this could turn out to be. I'm still going JK Dobbins here. As I said before, I just don't want either the Pittsburgh wide receivers against a pretty good Atlanta secondary. It's also one of those things.

44:11I'm not even saying this is the right way to approach fantasy decisions. But if I drafted JK Dobbins, I definitely have an emotional attachment of let me start him while I can. Right? I have him on my team. I'm not going to risk sitting him one of the few healthy weeks that I expect out of him. That way your mind works might even be enough of a tiebreaker for you if you see this is very close. One more flex one here. Jake Wondale Robinson or Kenny Gainwell. I'm going to go some gross. I'll take the, this is another one. Just with how broken the Titans offense looked this preseason and the fact that there's not even a guarantee that Wondale Robinson is going to see the workload or volume I should say that it did with the giants with Calvin Ridley being healthy right now for whatever that means. I know he's the Y receiver three, but it's just you have Tate is the one question mark Robinson volume. You have question mark. How much Ridley is involved? Question mark. Like how much time is it going to take for Cam War to look good in this offense? I've referenced it a lot that speaking of the giants in the situation, but like Eli

45:12Manning took six games to get the new offense back in the day. And that's at the peak of his career. And I know people want to argue whether or not Hall of Fame, but it matters when you're talking about learning a new offense and so far it's looked gross for Cam War. So I'll lean to Gainey Gainwell. I just I'll take the opportunity. The fact that fits and I agree on Bucky Irving like make that clear. I just I think that Kenny Gainwell can come out and still have RB three value, even with Bucky being a potential top 15 running back. I think both can be true. Fits. Yeah, Jake just referenced it and Borm, you certainly know also I'm a Bucky Irving guy and all off season. There were a lot of people saying Gainwell was going to share work evenly or even outtouch Bucky this season. And I always thought that was a load of who we and I still think it's a load of who we. So give me one day over Gainwell. I think Wondale is going to continue to provide the same sort of scammy Wondale Robinson PPR value that he provided under like all our Brian Dable with the Giants for a few years. And now we're getting the Wondale Dable pairing in Tennessee.

46:12So I am I'm fully expecting a classic Wondale Robinson seven catches for 52 yards stat line this week. And all the times we hung out in person fits. I don't think I've ever heard you say who we before. I got two of them here. Let's go to a quarterback one here. Bonaix or Malik Willis and either guy in consensus is ranked as a starter. But I think it was such a narrative this year about Lake QB is the way to go. You can take a couple of swings outside the top 13 or 14. I think there's going to be a lot of teams who have Willis and somebody in this range. So I wanted to make sure that I included him and they're back to back in consensus. QB 17 QB 18 fits whose year preference between Bonaix and Malik Willis this week. Malik Willis. We know what a cheat code running quarterbacks are and Bonaix does run a little bit himself, but not not like Malik Willis. I mean Malik Willis where I've told you I think Lamar Jackson might be the best running quarterback of all time. I think Malik Willis is almost in the Lamar class.

47:15And are we are we even sure Bonaix is good. Like he averaged 6.8 yards per attempt is a rookie and 6.4 yards per attempt last year. 6.4 is a bad number. That is the same number as the 2025 YPA of Bryce Young. I'm not sure that Bonaix is great. I think he's pretty good at least in terms of a fit with Sean Peyton and they had the most past attempts at football last year. So like that obviously really helps. You've been subjected to the Bonaix industrial complex in Denver. So. Well, I was just going to say a lot of the Denver people I know I was seeing like online last night were saying things like Bonaix like watching Drake May have his three interceptions. They were saying that I saw some definitive comments. Some declarations of Bonaix is the best quarterback in this in the 20th class. Oh, goodness gracious. I do not agree with that. To be clear, I have not been indoctrinated into the Denver mindset of that.

48:16But no, I mean, obviously it's a good fantasy situation for Bonaix even if you can quibble about the level of player. J. Kudu, you prefer between Nixon Willis. Well, like, here's the thing is we actually know. Nix is amazing if it was only on the fourth quarter. Like we just take all of his fourth quarters over full season. We might be talking about top five quarterback. Let's be honest. So I think Nix is interesting in the fact that and I'm not saying either of you or fits especially saying this. But for what he did last year, I think kind of blew away expectations to a degree at times. There was definitely questions. There was definitely flaws. But also I just think that Sean Payton got his style of quarterback. Sean Payton also for everybody talking up this all season. Again, I'm not throwing shots at anybody on the show, but talking about the addition of Jalen Waddle. And I'm kind of like, but that's what Bonaix needed. And I just, I really am. This is coming from somebody that wasn't, I want to make this clear. I wasn't a fan of Bonaix coming to college. I actually thought he was overdrafted. I think a lot of people were surprised by that. And I wasn't a fan of Bonaix and fantasy last year.

49:19There's like these two inconsistent. But at this point, I think the collection of what they put together in Sean Payton leaning on him this year to do more, I'm going Bonaix slightly. And Willis has, I've said this a million times on this show, on this network. Willis has top five upside because of the rushing. But we've played that game before with other quarterbacks and the floor is just my concern here. If he even runs 60 yards, but only gets 180 passing zero touchdowns, which again, I do think Malik Willis is better than that. But there's a lot to ask among rookies in the first week. And just so I'm going nicks, but it's, I mean, it's back to back. I have no problem if you want to go Willis. Where do you have these guys ranked, Jake? 1415. All right. I've got Willis 13 and nicks 18. So you had your gap there for fifths. Yeah. Who do you have more Bonaix or Mike Washington? Mike Washington. I don't hate. I really don't. And I'm just going to keep bringing that up. Denver Denver Broncos fans. I will grant you that Bonaix is better than Jared Stenem.

50:21Yes. An important distinction to be made. One more rapid firewood here. Titan, Mark Andrews or Isaiah, likely. I thought it'd be fun to put the two former teammates head to head. They're close in the rankings as well. Jake. So there are three answers to your question because it's half half PPR full PPR Isaiah, likely. Non PPR Mark Andrews is the only place I would put Mark Andrews ahead of Isaiah, likely this week because I think even looking at the departures and the changes for the Ravens, Mark Andrews is still touchdown or bus. And I mean, departure is basically the departure departure of Isaiah, likely. I really think Mark Andrews is going to live in that world where for him to get top five, six Titan values, he's going to score 10 11 touchdowns. He's just not a volume guy anymore and not that he ever was high, high volume, but you get my point. So I'm going likely for the receptions, especially not knowing how much Malik neighbors is going to be 100% or play in Leek one. But again, non PPR, I would chase the touchdown ceiling of interest.

51:21In half PPR, they are back to back. They're tight and 11 and tight in 12. Isaiah, likely, sighted 11 Mark Andrews, tight in 12. Fitz, you talked about being a little nervous about the cornerbacks for the calls for Isaiah Flowers. Is that maybe open up like when they pass, they'll have to go to Andrews. They don't have a lot of proven commodities otherwise. What are you doing with this one? Yes. And Jake, Mark Andrews has not been a volume guy while playing with Isaiah, likely. And now Isaiah, likely, is on the opposite sideline. And I've dropped this stat on like four or five off season shows and I'm going to drop it one last time. During Lamar Jackson, seven full seasons as the Ravens starting quarter back. Here is where Baltimore's tight ends of ranked in percentage of team targets. First, fifth, first, first, tenth, fourth and fourth. Ike Lamar likes throwing his tight ends and Mark Andrews doesn't have to share tight end targets with Isaiah, likely anymore. And also Lamar Jackson is a, you know, he's 10 times the passer Jackson Dart is at least at this stage of Dart's career.

52:23You're not wrong. It's just the splits without likely weren't that great the past two seasons, even with Lamar. And just so it like, it wasn't the boost that it was peak Andrews. So are you saying I'm Mark Andrews across the board just to be clear? Because I don't think you got it. Okay. Okay. PR too. Okay. But I'll dig a little bit deeper just because Keat Mitchell is somebody that I thought is a really good bench dash. Doesn't sound like he's 100% for week one. We all expect Arizona to be one worse teams in the league and that the charger should control this game. One of the bigger lines as spreads, I should say on the slate. So I'm going to take a Mary and Hampton just because it's the chargers and I do believe they're going to control this game. I also wanted to avoid Kenneth Walker or anybody in an earlier game. So but yeah, it's it's Hampton. Now watch everybody Henry Barkley cook everybody's going to score except for him. That's here you pick it. We fantasy analysts have been hyping up Parker washing in all off season and it is time to put our money where mouths are Parker washing and finds the end zone against the Browns. I did go with market engines that tight and I was looking at you see it. I wanted to be a surprise. Sorry. No, you're good.

54:26I picked Andrews last year for this. The Raven scored like 40 points in Buffalo and Andrews had one catch for five yards and no touchdown. So I'm saying that it's a different sort of week one for him this year. Also, I have I have made so much of betting against Erickson who will have more touchdowns this year between Zayf Flowers and Andrews that I felt like my first opportunity to pick an Andrews touchdown. I kind of had to put my own money where my mouth is. So I decided to go with you. See, I'm not just picking them every time. It's week one. So you know I have to do this right. I have to take shots where I when I can finally get a shot at Fitz. Who is the quarterback in a week one fits when Mark Andrews did that just out of curiosity. Just messing with you like. Yeah, I am. Yes, well, Mary and Hampton by the way just recap Mary and Hampton Parker watching a Mark Andrews the three touchdowns for a touchdown calls contest.
