In this episode of The Latest with Loren LoRosa, Loren blends inspiration with real-life perspective. She reacts to Cardi B’s groundbreaking moment as her album rollout is now being studied at Howard University—and reflects on her own college experience, where creativity didn’t always fit inside the box.
Then, she shifts to a chilling story out of L.A., where Christian Combs and Raven Tracy were targeted in an attempted home break-in. Loren unpacks the realities of visibility, social media, and how quickly things can turn when your life is public—especially with the ongoing spotlight around Sean "Diddy" Combs.

LaRosa and this is the latest with Lauren LaRosa this is your daily dig on all things pop culture
entertainment news and all of the conversations that shake the room baby so today guys here on
the latest we are definitely going to start with the behind the scenes of the grind check in
I'm so excited because I brought you guys some audio from the courty b concert her second
sold out night at medicine square garden and I have a little audio bonus for you guys if you're
listening to this episode I want you guys to then go check for the episode to follow this one the
day after and normally I don't even do episodes on the weekends but I want you guys to really
experience this concert with us it has to feel good like it has to feel good to be back home selling
out the garden like it's like the ultimate return to where you're from and this is not you know
cardys like first return home first concert home those type of things um but every time has to
feel good like there's no way it can't I was watching her original show not original show but her
first night at medicine square garden uh the night before last and the opening scene where she comes
out and there's smoke and it's you know she's walking slow and she's very powerful I was like man
I can't imagine how she feels but at that moment I wanted to feel how she felt it not even because
it's like you know there's all these people screaming and like the celebrity of it all but more
or so just like oh I did this like my purpose my intention my passion all of that my ups my
downs we've seen Cardi go through a lot publicly have all that hurt to this moment now let's get
on into the latest speaking of Cardi B uh it was announced this week that Cardi B's music will now
be studied at Howard University and it's not just her music per se it is the album rollout that
Cardi B did for her studio album Emma the drama which is what she's on her little Miss drama tour
uh touring right now and you know some of her own music as well too um but the hip-hop studies majors
at Howard University will get to dive into how she wrote out the project how she you know
targeted her market of her audience um the marketing course that it would be featured and it's
offered an partnership with the Warner music and it'll break down the strategy behind Cardi's
and my the drama album campaign now that album sold over two hundred thousand units in the first
week alone just based off of pre sales you know she added WAP on the project as well too which people
people was upset about it but the strategy WAP so crazy it was never placed on any of her albums
because she hadn't dropped an album in years uh so all of the strategy will be a part of the
2026 fall semester for the students of that course now the Warner music uh university page um and
Howard University's um university of fine arts which is the Chadwick Boseman College of Fine
Arts program posted this to their Instagram and they said uh the Cardi B M at the drama the art
production marketing and cultural impact is here at the Howard University and they opened up
registration for the course now the course is an elective course and for those of you guys for
anybody that didn't go to college elective course is basically something you can take on not the side
because it still counts toward all of your credits that you need to graduate but there are like
main courses you have to take so your math your Englishes your history courses um and then there
are certain main courses you have to take with your major so like for instance I was a marketing
major business administration major at Delaware State University and my main courses that related
to my major I had a marketing class I had a business development strategy class uh but
elective would have been something that I chose to take so sometimes either the courses
so that you can have more fun with um that still counts towards your graduation but I think
that this is dope I love when I see colleges do this because one of the things that I always felt
like was missing during the time when I was at Delaware State and and I know it's gotten a lot
better now I felt like being a marketing major I was there from 2010 to 2014 and I felt like being
a marketing major at Delaware State University then which is an HBCU um I just felt like everything I
was learning in real life as I was going out and doing all these creative and you know business
based internships when I would come back to campus everything was so like boxed in like everything
was like the the basic ABCs one two threes of business and marketing and strategy and development
and I'm like do y'all not see us creative kids over here that also want to run businesses that also
want to you know be able to come into a brand or a business figure out what they need and provide
that like I always felt like that and to be honest with y'all and this is nothing I've never
said before I love my HBCU but I feel like my teachers kind of gave me a hard time because they
would give us assignments like oh go create a business and talk about how you're going to sell it
and then the person that you're going to sell it to when they acquire it what is the basically like
the franchise program that you're going to leave behind for them to follow and I remember I made
a magazine and I made the magazine both digital and print because I felt like for where I knew
things were going because Instagram was like the go to for everything but this was before shave
room on Instagram ball alert on Instagram I was like anybody that picks up this business you're
going to have to understand where digital is going and I need to be a part of the franchise I
remember my teacher telling me it was a great idea I scored well on the project but he was like
you didn't follow instructions because we can't look at this business because this isn't a real
thing these businesses these type of businesses aren't tangible this market this it's dying
so why I create a I remember this like yesterday why it was it's my senior year why I create a
business in a dying market why focus on careers in a dying market lean more where business is growing
not dying imagine telling a senior in college that who was looking to go out into the world and
move the LA and working entertainment so I love seeing these type of courses because I feel like
it encourages you know kids to understand that there are some ABC 1 2 3 practices to all of
this creative thing all of the creative things that they're saying people do like becoming a music
artist or you know even just exposes you the new jobs like okay so if I'm a student at Howard
University and I'm looking at parties I will roll out as you know a course in my class that means
I have to talk about everybody that helps her put this rollout together and actually execute it
so it's not just about the rap artists it's not just about the music it's about the team and
execution and the business and actual structure and foundation of it which I think really doesn't
get talked about enough especially to people who have these like big hoop dreams so this is one
of my favorite things to see so that course will begin in the fall of 2026 and was announced
you know via the Instagrams that we talked about and it'll be offered Tuesdays and Thursdays on
the campus now I'm not sure if it's only offered to like four times students at the at the at
Howard University or not but maybe we can kind of like see maybe I can reach out and figure it
out because this one's so viral and in parties the type to reach out to the school and try and
figure out how she can support it I feel like I know this course is filled up there's no way that
there's more space after that after the announcement like there's no way because it went so viral
so yeah what's up everyone my name is Dr. J Barnett and I am the host of Jess Hill with Dr. J
podcast listen one thing that I remember about my childhood is being able to remember my phone
number because it was like the theme at that time you got to remember your phone number in case
you get somewhere and you can't get in touch with anybody you need to be able to remember your
phone number did you know that 2026 were marked the 150 anniversary of the first ever phone call
it took place March 10 1876 and from the call that sparked it all to the first loan distant phone lines
the first line across America the first line across the Atlantic the first round the world call
the first commercial sales service the first 911 system AT&T has been connecting people for 150 years
in so many different ways so when I think about AT&T and their 150 years I think about the lives
that have been saved I think about the joy that has been shared because nothing says connection
like AT&T connecting changes everything AT&T hey y'all what's up it's Laura Rosa okay let's talk
curls for a second because you already know if you have curly or coiley hair moisture is not optional
it's essential dryness is one of the biggest challenges for curly hair and most products they
clock out after wash day the new ultra moisture collection was literally designed with our hair
and mine curls coils all of it powered by botanol oil and Jamaican blackcaster oil which means
the science is actually doing the work clinically proven to help retain moisture for up to five days
five whole days the shampoo gently cleanses without stripping the mass deeply conditions it helps
reduce breakage believe in ads a lightweight hydration with hyaluronic acid and the curl cream
defines without crunch no sulfates no parabens no silicones no mineral oil just nourishment
without the compromise because here's the thing your hair deserves products that actually
understand it moisture that starts at the root and keeps going well past Sunday that's the ultra
moisture collection from can-to explore their full line built for every curl pattern every hair routine

parent i've got dan morgan here on the pod say hi dan hey how's it going today it's going
good man tell us who you are and what you do i'm dan morgan i'm an attorney and a managing
partner at morgan morgan which is america's largest injury law firm that's pretty awesome um
i think i saw billboard years recently that said uh 20 billion one 20 million is an insane number
yeah 20 billion recovered it's actually i think somewhere north probably closer to 22
23 after this year and each year we get bigger and better and our army grows so the number will
hopefully keep getting bigger and bigger as time goes on awesome so how does someone get in contact
with morgan morgan what what would i do if i got into an accident probably the easiest way is
dialing pound law that's pound five two nine from your cell phone we are always open our call
centers always waiting to take your call 24 seven three sixty five wow dan morgan from morgan and
morgan america's largest injury law firm thanks for coming by the show thanks for having me visit
for the people dot com for an office near you you know what i could really go for right now
literally anything that comes in a mcdonald's carton rapper or bag or a mcdonald's cup
yes any of those items you do it we've got your cravings covered now stop in for the flaky
filet of fish the crispy snack wrap or a large fries for just two ninety nine limited time only
price and participation may vary cannot be combined with any other offer bottom up apart now shifting
gears a bit uh you know in the same vein of music artists though and young music artists who
are figuring things out christian combs who is the son of diddy Sean diddy combs uh there was a
attempted home breaking to his home in porter ranch porter ranch is a part of california that is
like out the way so you have la los angeles that people will talk about in hollywood that people
talk about porter ranches probably about an hour from those places but that is where a lot of
the celebrities live and buy homes like a lot of the celebrities both young and old because there's
a bit of privacy you also have calabases as well too which i know you guys have heard like the conyes
and the drinks wrap about kind of similar very out the way private porter ranches not as exclusive
depending on where you are as calabases but saying just um but
earlier yesterday morning um there were police that responded to christian's home in porter
ranch and there was a phone call that was made to a la pd that christian combs and his girlfriend
raven tracy who owns the uh active wear brand body by raven um they got a phone call saying that
there was a burglary a burglary hot prowl now the burglary burglary hot prowl essentially just
means that the suspect is actively trying to break into the home while the home owners are inside
now this went down 12 45 a.m so imagine your home get in your bag to chill in and if you're hearing
someone or your cameras or your alarms alert you that someone is trying to break in your home
now officers wrote down the report of the attempted burglary at the scene but there's video
circulating of tons of cops that swarmed uh to the scene once this call came in and what they found
was that there was an attempt to enter the there was an attempt to enter the home through the
rear door but the suspect or suspects did not gain entry now there was another person who was
monitoring the surveillance video um at the time that also separately called la pd uh record show
that raven tracy who owns body bear raven christian comes girlfriend uh owns this home and she
had posted on instagram and this is the the scary thing about just um you know what you can put
and celebrate on instagram once you have the follow words and the platform you don't even have to
be a celebrity to be honest with you you could just be an influencer or influential enough where you
have people that follow you enough to want to like i don't know just be envious or thank you got
something that they want she had posted this home i remember she posted it because it was in the
midst of all of the like diddy conversation craziness and there have been you know the allegations
there was some allegations made against christian as well on the civil side um nothing that he's been
found guilty of though um but she had posted it then and she's been sticking by their family this whole
trial and christian as well too i mean it's her boyfriend but you know sometimes you know she has a
business that she owns she has a brand of her own and sometimes people separate themselves
in the midst of that but she did not uh when i when i was in court i would see her in court
beautiful girl i would see her in court with christian i remember one time i went and grabbed
food after i left court just on like a lunch break it was during the i believe that was when
it was the bond we were waiting to find out if diddy was going to receive a bond and
it we waited for hours and i went to a local restaurant and saw them at the restaurant as well too
so you know she held the family down but she had posted on instagram that she said we just bought
our first home and just posted a photo of the house right no address no anything listed in this
in this post that she put up but still and i don't know if you know because that post was so long
ago so i'm not trying to connect it to there but i do remember that happening um and i don't even
know if the people who attempted to break in knew whose home they were attempting to break in
again porter ranch especially in certain areas it's it you know the people that live out there
have a certain type of like you know living style luxury money all those things so i don't know
if anything is connected um from one thing to the other because there was there's a big gap
of time in between but that's just scary though that and and i always think about that like you
know i'm a i like to share a lot i like to be very vulnerable i love to talk about my family and
all of that but uh between this and you know Savannah got three coming out and and talking about
you know everything with her mom and feeling like it was her fault i think so much more now about
posting my family and you know and sometimes you're in the moment and you're happy you're excited
and you talk about these moments um and it just doesn't connect about you know what could come
after but again i don't know if any of this is connected i'm making the connection because i
only remember they even lived together because of her instagram post um but yeah so police
responded uh that i know of as of now no one has been taken into custody um but police are investigating
so yeah and i was back on august of 2024 that she posted that that post about you know
them moving into their first house house together so that's been some years now so not i don't
i don't i doubt that that even connects there but we'll find out we'll reach out we'll we'll
try and you know track this and follow this and get more information on um what led to this but
happy that they're safe though like i can't imagine being home and somebody being trying to
somebody trying to get in my home um we also too don't know exactly who was home
we know that someone that that occupies the house was in the home because of the way that the
call came in but we don't know which resident or residents were inside so there'll be some updates
there hey y'all what's up it's Lorna Rosa okay let's talk curls for a second because you already
