Oh, I feel real now. It feels real now. Our first football Friday of the season. Welcome on in. It's the midday show. Hugh Douglas, today was really, you guys, we lost 215, 592, 94.94. Kyle Quinn behind the glass. We got a lot to get to today. The Eagles, the commanders week one. It starts in a couple days. Good morning, Hugh Douglas. Good morning, Joe. Good morning, Philadelphia. Good morning, Kyle. How's everybody doing today? I noticed a heavy day for a lot of people, man. And you know, we're not going to make, you know, this is, we're not going to make light of this situation, but we're going to try to have as much fun as we possibly can. Well, of course, Hugh. It is that it's the day, I mean, it's a heavy day on all of our hearts. We'll talk about our memories of it and our feelings on all of it as we go throughout the show, Hugh. And you're right. And we do have, it's, look, it's the fun part of this that we get to have a distraction from what this day is because this day, it hovers overall of us. It will our whole lives. Yeah, but we'll never, man, we'll never forget that. I'll never forget why we're, when everything happened that day. It was crazy. Yeah, we all will. That's why it's, it's, it's in our minds and in our hearts every time on this day, especially on an anniversary

like this 25 years ago, and Hugh, we do have a football game to talk about on Sunday. We do a football team to talk about. We do have a football Friday. And yeah, Hugh Douglass, I got to tell you, look, week one every year is a big deal. Week one every single year has an extra meaning. Week one every single year, you feel like the game matters a little bit more just because it's the first one, right? You want to get off to a good start. But I think for this Eagles team, in this particular year, week one has extra importance. To the point where I will say, this is a must win game for the Philadelphia Eagles. This is not just, hey, let's get off to a good start. It'd be nice to get off to a good start. No, if the Eagles are going to be the team that we want them to be, that a lot of people think they are going to be, even though there's a lot of transition here in a new core date or no AJ, if that's going to happen, if all the predictions I've heard this summer of 11, 12, 13 wins are going to happen, the only way they occur is if this game is a win for the Eagles. So if the Eagles are going to be the team, they're expected to be. Then this is a must win game. They cannot drop this game. I don't care what it looks like, but they have to win the game.

This is a must win game. Look at the schedule coming up. They will be favored big next week at Tennessee. Great. After that, they go to Chicago in a Monday night. They're going to be an underdog in that game. The Rams come here and I know what I was going to say. Joe, you said, blah, blah, blah. Yeah, the Rams will be fine. Yeah, like a good one. No, we'll get to it. We'll talk about last time. The Rams will be fine. And guess what, they're probably still going to be a favor here in week four. Very challenging football game. If the Eagles are going to go off to the start, we want them to. It has to include a win against the commanders. This is a must win. I don't care. It's week one. The next time they play the commanders, they're down in Washington on a short week. They have to take, you look at their schedule, Hugh. This is probably one of the five easiest games in the schedule all year considering the talent. So then it's a must win football game, right? No, come on. It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it looks pretty good, but we saw what happened last night. I don't know what the point spread was for that game. It was four and a half, but, uh, man, it was lopsided. And it was lopsided for, I don't know. It was lopsided, it felt like the whole game. It just felt like, it felt like the, the LA Rams were Steph

Curry on a cold night shooting, because they kept shooting. And you saw the hook up with, with, with, with Stafford and a couple of receivers, Puka early on. And you thought it was going to be a game, but he never really got, they never really got that rhythm on either side of the ball, man. They stuck and coach Shanahan, they, they took it to, they took it to the Rams last night. They took it to the Rams last night. I want to say one another thing too. Brock Perty was the best quarterback on the field last night. And it's something to be said about, you know, when you talk about all the accolades that Matt Stafford came in with and the fact that he was, you know, MVP last year and everything like that, the best quarterback on the field last night. Sure. Was Brock Perty. Any given Sunday. What does that mean any given Sunday? No, and I just, what it, what it means is you have to appreciate what you have, man. Football is hard, Joe. Playing quarterback is hard on. It's a must win game and you're hitting me with football is hard. No, I'm saying it is, man, it's hard. It's a hard game and it was, it's a, it's, it's, it's the beautiful thing.

I'm playing. Are you going to be finished? No. Beautiful thing about playing this game, man. No matter what. I mean, I would a whole lot of cliches day because it, and plus I, I made a mistake and, and when I was cleaning out my notebook, I threw away my, my notes. You told me you took copious notes. I did, but, but what I did, I, I got to go get them out the trash because I, I miss you. You threw out your notes. You were so proud of your notes. No, I got to go get them. So we're off. We're going to get into this. This isn't all specific. Start everybody. It's notes are gone. Because you see me flip through. I'm like, damn it. I do the pages out. But anyway, my point is this. It's hard to play football, man. We have to appreciate what we have in our head coach and our cool. Yeah, wonderful. I'll appreciate them. They win the game on Sunday. I mean, here's the thing. I'm just saying I had an epiphany. Okay. Here's the thing for me. And I took notes. I'm so happy you took notes. And I'll be happier if the Eagles win this game. I said, which I expect them to do, by the way, this is, Eagles are going to win the game. And I consider it a must win game. It's not a must win. It is. I just don't see the path to a great season without winning this first game. They have, this schedule is not easy.

I've said this. It's a day this schedule came out. One of the five easiest games in the schedule to that point. I feel they get the commanders at a good time. The commander's offensive line is all banged up with that being said, I, I, I, I'm picking up what you put. Okay. Like I'm just, I'm, I'm, we can, it is. I mean, if we come, oh, listen, we come in here on Monday after a win, which I expect. Okay. We check the first box away. We go. Let's go take down the Titans two and a, when we got a good cushion to start this season. If the other is playing the plays out, which I don't even want to say out loud, but if they don't win this football game, it is a disaster. They are a far better roster to their commanders. They have to win this football game. And I consider it a must win. I know that's not what we usually say about week one because a lot of time to recover. If the Eagles are going to be the team, we think they could be, it has, I don't see any path that doesn't include a win over the commanders in week one, two one five, five nine two, ninety four nine for cliche Douglass in week one. Hey, week one. Hey, because you're not playing the game is not playing on pace. You know what this is? You know what this is? Break, break, break. This feels like, it feels like a little bit.

If you play a win the game, greasing the skids if something goes wrong, it's okay. It's okay. A lot of season, like in a lot of season left next week. No, no, it's not that. It's that going into that game last night, the heavy favorites. I would say, you know, I know you say four and a half points, but everybody felt with the dream team on the field. Miles Garrett, the fact that Sean McVeigh, Coach McVay brought him there right before the game started felt like that everybody thought that this was going to be a boat racing of the San Francisco 49ers. Man, they came out and they bludgeoned the ramp. Yeah, they kicked the ass. They bludgeoned the ramps and they did it. They did it in the air and they did it on the ground. I will say though, by the betting line, the Eagles are a bigger favorite over the commanders than the Rams were over the 49ers. So like, this is supposed to be even more of that. The only thing I'm saying is, I know that if it doesn't go the way that we think is going to go, it's going to all hell is going to break. Yes. It is. And I get that part, but it's not the end of the world. It's not.

It's putting yourself. Oh, I disagree. No. I know you don't know where we are. No, I do know. Okay. That's why I'm here. Pop, pop, Doug. Okay. All right. Two on. I'm excited. I'm excited. I'm going to pop. Yeah. Two on five. Five, nine, two. Ninety four, ninety four. Is this a must win game? You can give us your score predictions. Well, it's not some fun of the day. It's our first football Friday of the year. I think Eagles are going to win this football game. And their defensive lines should dominate this commander's offensive line and we should run the commanders out of the building on offense. That's how they win the game. They should win the game. It's a must win football game to start the year. Kyle, where do you come down? We got a must win week one. Yeah. And look, I understand that everybody's reaction to last night is like, well, the Rams, you know, like the. Must win against the Niners. I don't know. It's. I think it's easier to justify the Rams losing to the 49ers last night. The Niners are a good team. Of course. Right. That was a weird travel situation all that's often like the Rams are going to be fine. The Rams are. Probably one of the best roster in the NFL. Ultimately by the end of the season, they can still probably rip off 13 wins, 14 wins maybe.

The Eagles, this could be the difference in 11 wins and 10 wins, which could cause them a playoff spot. And the commanders stink, which is a huge part of this. And your home at the link division opponent week one, like, I don't know, that's a game you can't drop. The Rams can drop that against the Niners. Niners are a good team and I get that's tough. Being in the division of the Niners are ripping off a lot of wins by the end of the season. That can end up being tough for the Rams. I get that. Like you look at the Niners and you're like, you know, they're solid. They look like a playoff team. The commanders are not. They look like a basement dweller to me. And I mean, do you know what it'll be like here? Monday? Oh, yeah. If they lose, yeah, well, then then next week against the Titans is even more of a must-win. You can't go Oh and two before you have to play freaking Chicago. Yeah. I don't know. Like, I cannot come. I cannot come in here Monday. No, no. Talking about an Eagles. No, I don't have. I'm going to the Eagles winning 11 12 football games. Any, any math on it, Tim Burmese includes beating the commanders at home in week one. This is a must-win football game. It gets this year started. It gets the bad taste that our math from last year. It takes down an opponent that's not very good.

And I look at the schedule and I'm like, man, there are some tough games in there. Chicago, the Rams, Jaguars and London. You know, we can go to the Cowboys will be tough games, right? They play the 49ers late in the year of San Francisco, the Texans, the Seahawks. Those are all tough, tough, tough, or games. I get that. But you got to, you got to beat up the bad ones. Like the commanders. Bad, you beat them because the bad. That's right. That's a must win. Yeah, but it's not a must win. Ooh. It's, it's a, it'll be bad if you lost. Well, I'd be, it's a must win. It's a must win. It'll be all bad if you lost. All right. 215-592-9494. That is how you hop board. We'll get to everyone's phone calls. You hear from Jayden Daniels coming up and the commander's defensive coordinator talking about Jay on Hertz. And he has to familiarity with Sean Mayans. It's an interesting coaching matchup in this game from all the sides. 215-592-9494. That's how you hop in. We start here. Jay must win week one. I say it is. Eagles need to win this football game. It's the midday show sports radio 94 WIP. Easy way. Yeah. There's no short car home. There's no easy way.

I love this song. Awesome. Never any easy way. Welcome back. Vendition. Awesome. You Douglas. Yo, Julie, where do you come down? Is week one the opener? A must win for the Eagles. Obviously this. This is a clear week one must win. This song is awesome. This song is terrible. It's awesome. It's awesome for our show because he sings it. And that's the people want. All right. We got a lot to get to. We're going to hear from Jayden Daniels. We're going to hear from the defensive coordinator here, the new one for the watch commanders coming up here in a second. He did mention off the jump. Today is a heavy day. And if anyone wants to share their thoughts and their feelings on 25 years, he of course is 9-11 today, 25 years ago. I know you spoke to Marcus Hayes of the Inquirer. I saw the story this morning. Marcus wrote a story about kind of the teams here, the athletes and your experience, you guys experienced at that time. The Doug Lamville was quoted in there. You were quoted. And for all of us, it's a day we'll never forget. I mean, obviously from your perspective, you're trying to prepare for a game. We know the games didn't happen that week, but I'm sure it was a lot.

Just when you factor in, hey, I got to go to work and prepare for a game, but hey, there's not work this week. Yeah. It was it was weird, man. And I try to relate to Marcus. I remember coming across the bridge because I lived in Jersey at the time. And they didn't, I think it was the third or fourth plane. They didn't know where it was at. And you were nervous. Because you didn't know what was going on, first of all. And then I remember just when we started practicing, the weirdest thing ever, and I just remember there were no planes in the sky. That was crazy. To be at the Nova Care at the time, it was in Nova Care as a Jefferson health care now. But to be there at the time and the practice and no planes were in there. And then when we started flying again, every time a plane with everybody was kind of looking, you were just, you was on pins and needles, man. It was something that was surreal at the time. Yeah, I mean, it's the scariest day of our lives as Americans. I mean, so I was in high school at the time in Tom's River, New Jersey, which is probably

like a little over an hour outside of New York City. So there were several students, no one I was close to. There were several students in the school that had family that worked in downtown Manhattan, one that worked in the world, one of the world trade centers. So like that, there was a palpable fear in that day. I mean, luckily everyone that I was in our school there, family was okay. But it wasn't. It's a day we'll never forget. It's a day every day on this date. It just, all those emotions come back to you, and especially today, being the 25th. So obviously, we wish our condolences everyone had lost someone. We all did as Americans. And we honor everyone that we're the heroes that day. And we'll continue to over the years to one five five nine two ninety four ninety four. Must win on Sunday against the commanders. It certainly is in my mind. Hugh Douglas for some reason is saying, I mean, they got to win this football game when they will. Will in the Northeast starts us off on WIP. Will what's up? Oh, baby, you know, what's up? Baby, listen, I got to train team. What's going on? I just want to say, you know, to all of the people who gave their lives to save other

people alive. God bless you and your family, man. Thank you for your service. Um, listen, what I saw yesterday was a lot of people gasped for air. Now you started to see what I'm talking about. You see what the San Francisco 49th, they gasped the Rams, man. They was huffing and plucking and breathing. They couldn't even breathe. Will I agree with you? I thought the Rams were out of gas in the second half of the game. And you know what? Maybe part of that is they don't play in the preseason. They don't put anyone in the field in the preseason. They're not ready to go. Right, but guess what? Guess who that's not going to happen to us. Oh, baby, because we used to play like that. You know what I mean? Come on, child. You know what, Tom, it is, man. It's equals height, child. Come on, Billy. Let's go. You know what, Tom, it is funky. Have to know. We're going to rock these.

But we're going to go. Yeah, we are just being the beat. You know what? Will's week one ready. More week one ready than he does. I'll tell you that much. Well, I mean, yeah, I mean, please, Jay's and all that. We got brick. It's a must-win football game. Not a must-win. You know, we could get a robot in here that just says that the police chase. I like how it becomes personal. Like it always devolves into personal. Well, because it's a must-win game. It's not a must-win game. You are accepting mediocrity already. No, I'm not accepting mediocrity. Any give a Sunday about the H.O.R.O. Oh, I'm going to put you in a chase. And he give a Sunday not this one. No, not my house. Not the birds, you. We must protect this house. Remember that commercial? Yeah, that thing like 25 years old. Can we be honest with ourselves? We must protect this house. Can we be honest? Who's that? Are we going to feel like everything is OK if they lose the game? No, OK. Then that makes it a must-win game. OK. I didn't, like, we're having two different conversations here. Nope. I didn't say that we weren't going to feel some kind of way if they lose. But to put it like I guess I'm thinking or feeling like the season's over if we lose

this game over over it's strong. But I I what I believe what I said a few minutes ago is the path to getting to 11 12 wins. I can't find the math without this win. I feel young. There's like five or six games in the schedule. Like all right. Kind of see first game at home against Washington. The Cardinals like those are games you just you should get you just put them in the W column. And if you start taking those W's and put them to the L column, you know, the path to the playoffs gets harder. No, I don't want that. I get what you're saying. But you know when you know when when Rutgers opened up their season with UMass and they gave them what $1.5 million. They felt that that was a that was a giving game right because you pay them sure pay $1.5 million for ass whooping right and all I'm saying is at any given time the tables can turn. That's all. Yeah. And I'm not trying to know you're picking them to win, but you you're making me feel like you're not confident. No, no, what I'm saying, like I am picking the user win and I think they're going to win.

But I don't want to to paint myself in a corner where I'm telling myself if they lose to the Commodore's in the first game that the rest of the season is a wash because you feel like you're a little bit worried they might lose. No, I'm not. I'm not worried about that. But I'm also trying to be realistic about potentially it happening because nobody saw the beat down that we saw last night. No, I think there was definitely a path. You know, look, Chanahan's a great coach and and those two teams play each other close all the time. So I think you there was a path to where it was a close game to your point though. I agree with you. Nobody saw the night or blow them out. Nobody saw that come. That was a surprise. Nobody saw Joe and not only that. It was the physical domination. They killed him on the ramp. They just crushed them. They physically dominated because you know what you're talking about was it the tackle Trent Williams right going against Miles Garrett. He didn't get a whole lot of help. Zero pressure from I was going to get a whole lot of it was Miles Garrett first game since 2018 without a single pressure. That's crazy. And now and not making excuses for anybody.

But I like and and and and granted I don't watch a whole I haven't been watching a whole lot of sports and I haven't been looking at the injury port or anything like that. I ain't hearing nothing about Miles Garrett. You know, you know, need. Yeah, he didn't practice much this summer. Okay. But it wasn't it wasn't he didn't practice because of the I didn't hear anything about a knee. Yeah, it was the knee. Okay. But I'm just saying you when you're out there as a player as a player of his caliber. Right. You ain't got no excuses. Oh, I know. They were bad last night. And look, that was a surprise. I just I can't accept a surprise here. The Eagles have to win this football game. Any path to the season we want them to have includes a win over the commanders. It's a must win game. It's a must win in terms of how I feel about them this season. It's a must win. It's a must win for their year. I'm just telling you right now. The path to the playoffs without this win on Sunday is is tenuous. There's no easy way out. They need this game. And I expect them to get this game. Let's hear from a couple guys on the commanders as we we welcome in an opponent that we got to know very well two years ago, right? Three matchups, including the NXT championship game. Last year the commanders fell off very fast. They stunk.

Daniels got hurt and that last game. I mean, it was just it was a waste of time that game. Can we hear Jaden Daniels Kyle on facing the Eagles here in Philadelphia? I mean, they're a very sound defense. Lot of good players, a lot of respect for them, but what they do, just not a deep sense, but just as an organization as a whole, the whole team. You got to be in a game, man, because if not, they're going to make you pay. So we got to go out there and just try to execute our game plan to the best our abilities. And you guys going to be a dog fight. You if I had a if I had a if I had to make a list of the five. There's no short cut. There's no easy way out. There you go. Football season is officially here. I got to tell you the more he sings and laughs, the more I think he's not confident the game was on the. No, I am. Kyle, do you think he's confident they're going to win? I don't feel it. I am. He's. You're scared. He's shaking like a leaf on a tree. I am excited. The football season is finally here. And we've had our first example of any given Sunday.

Well, I need to give him Thursday. Okay. Well, yeah, it's a man. It's Thursday. Yeah. Though when was that game played because the game was played Friday in in Australia, but it was played Thursday night here. So what do you consider yesterday was a Friday morning football or Thursday night football? It might be. It would ever. But you know what's funny? What you know what other thing I noticed? Where about park outside that stadium because it was no parking around that public transportation man. That is crazy. Mine are been Australia. You don't don't look like I want to go. I have that one like that's a long they nobody tailgain. I don't know. Do you see the tailgain areas in there? Nice. I think that seemed pretty cool though. A hundred thousand people packed in in Melbourne to watch the game. Oh, I was before you started singing. I was saying that if I don't make a list of the five wild card like ex-factors of the season, just in that across the NFL, you know who's on that list? Who's that? Jaden Daniels. What do you think he is? I mean, two years ago, he has. Well, that he is. I mean, as a player. So he had. I'm a kind of fine. She's not responding to you. Right? I mean, it's over.

Yeah, it's over. Okay. So two years ago, he has one of the greatest rookie seasons any rookie quarterbacks ever had, right? Then last year, banged up. Didn't even play that well when he played. He'll, what kind of quarterback are we going up against on Sunday? Okay. I don't know the answer. Given the history of the Commodore's, you know, and I just had a vision in my head and you probably don't remember. Then you probably won't get to get to the correlation. I remember when, when, when, uh, what's the name RG3 got hurt and they had the meme of him doing the stanky leg. Yeah. I think that they're probably going to get Jaden Daniels hurt the same kind of way. I'm not, no, no, get me wrong. I'm not wish for him to get hurt. But when you talk about that poorest offensive line and they lost what Larry Tumsle and the fact that they couldn't protect him last year and they were banking on him to play this year, um, he needs to get the ball out of his hands quick. That's what I'm thinking. The type of pressure on him that we can, it's going to be a long day for Jaden day. Uh, look, I, I think they could ruin him. I mean, to, that's why I say when that, when the first thought was when, when they had

that, when they put, you remember when they put RG3 back out there, he was hurt. They put him back out there. He got hurt even worse. Now Daniels isn't hurt to start this season. No, he's not, but he doesn't have an offensive line that, that's going to protect him. I know. I mean, look, you, you could tell me right now that look like they're not going to protect him. Yeah. No, right. I'm going to face off against the Ravens in a joint practice. One of their, uh, reporters said that the line was inoperable. I think just couldn't block anybody. So, yeah, man, they could ruin that kid. He looked like a star two years ago. Last year, not so much. We'll see on Sunday what he looks like. But I expect Eagles to win and it is a must win game for them. There's no question as much as you want to pretend it's not. I mean, and it's what it says. That's pretending. It's not because you know deep down what's going to happen if they don't win this. There's fear. No, not at all. There's excitement. Yeah, but you did, you did say realistic. You don't want to put you to the expectations out there. Well, it's okay. For example, I had this a good friend of mine who made a declaration yesterday and said that the Rams were going to go on to feed. Yeah, it was a bold prediction, not a declaration.

Well, a declaration. A bold prediction in a bold prediction segment. Fissel statement coming up 1115 on that by the way. No, I'm just saying a friend of mine. Yeah, friend of mine. Fissel set out there and say, oh, Rams going to go 17 and oh. 20 and I'm clueless. Oh, my, my fault. The whole thing. The whole thing. 20 and I said that with his chest is hold it. What is not to do with the Eagles? No, but what I'm saying is not a thing. Not a one thing. Okay. 17 and 0 8 20 and all right. Yeah. But and you and you said I'm glad you said that because you said they're, their season is in the Super Bowl. Yeah, which you're probably still nothing. Changes. There. If only thing changed from that from from that bold prediction is the fact that they're not going to go into feed it. They can still make everything happen that they want to make. Well, so I agree with you, but they're better. They're a better roster than the Eagles. And they have more margin for error. The Eagles don't to me. No, and I understand that part. And I also acknowledge that if you lose this game, Sunday, nobody's going to be happy about it against the team that look like trash in the precinct.

Look like trash in the precinct. Well, that's, I mean, that's the, I mean, it is a funny comparison, but the differences the 49ers are good. Right. The remforsaken a good team. The Eagles are playing a bad team. But even with that being said, nobody, nobody, it felt like nobody felt that the 49ers really had a chance. I know some people, I know some people were talking about it. Some people picked them, you know, but, but when you talk about that all star lineup and the fact that you had the MVP and they, and listen, they were trying to throw the ball all over the, all over the place early on. They tried to establish the passing game early. It's still their workout and their favor. It's a nod. They had a bad night and the nighters were way better last night. 215, 592, 90 for now for David and Westchester's up on WIP David. David. What's up, there? La, la, la, Mont and Joe. David, how are you? What's up? Hi, Joe. Listen, I have a new Buddhist therapist and I'm going to help you out today for your charge. Okay. So what I want you to do is breathe in. Okay, go breathe in. Okay.

Did you breathe? I did. Breathe out slowly. Okay. I want you to calm yourself young man. No. You're being an alarmist. You're going to cause panic industries with the way you're saying this is a must win. Must win. It's just like the first game at a scene. Must win. Now, no, no, it's not a must win, but they're going to win, which totally blows your entire theory out of why. No, no, no, no, it's not. It's not a must win. I believe they're going to win and it is a must win game. Why would I make a game? I don't think they're going to win a must win game. That doesn't make any sense. No, well, no, you don't make any sense. I believe they're going to win, but it's a must win. It's not. I mean, you know, it's a fricking and you know, and you hit it on the head because I had this with Kyle because Kyle's ripping it apart too. But any given Sunday, bro, any given Sunday. Oh, hey, no, no, bro, come on. I just, I just thought you had a breathe in and breathe out and relax. Relax, yo. I don't do any of that stuff. I just yell up on the radio. And that, that's how I feel better. And this is a must win football game for the Eagles. If they're going to get to a letter, it's what, yes, it is.

I'll say it right now. There's no easy way. Yeah, I'll tell you. It's cool. It's cool, yo. All right. There's no short time. There's no easy way. I'm going to stand up on not listen here. But it's stand up. Take your nonsense out of your day. I'm going to get marked the only way the Eagles win the NFC East is to win this game on Sunday, the only way. I'm just telling you right now that like they need all the division wins they could get. I don't think we realized how the scale of easy games they have. How high this is up on the on the scale. It commanders team in week one while the Eagles are healthy at home and they don't have an offensive line. This is if you were to write down their three or four or five easiest games, this is it. They got to win this football game as much as you dug was trying to sing his way out of this one that they need to win this game. Can we hear from the new coordinator, new defense of coordinator for the commander, Mr. Rante Jones talking about J. On hurts. Dynamic, you know with Jalen, he's he has a knack for extending the play.

He has his super powers and you know, he's he can make he's one of the best at throwing a nine ball. You know, the deep shot down the sideline and that showed up last year, even against the Vikings. And so a guy like that who's been around and he's grown, he's matured and you can see how he's gotten better and better each year in his phase. And I think the way they're using doesn't matter who the call it, who the play call over that has been, he still has had successful years and be that's because the type of player and leader that he is for that organization. And so it's always a challenge going against a guy like that. And you know, our guys are we're excited. He was interesting listening to him yesterday. That's the new coordinator for the commanders on defense. How much new is with all these teams now? So the only unit on the two teams on Sunday that it has the same coordinator play call from last year is the Eagles defense would Vick right Eagles have a new offense quarter shamanian. The commanders have a new offense coordinator David Blow and a new defensive coordinator through on stage Jones. He feels like week one so little this to even know about all these teams because there's

so much like the commanders were bad last year. Yes. They're probably going to be not good again, but they do have two brand new coordinators. It makes these games. It makes week one very interesting each year because like what are they what are they keeping from last year? What are they not keeping from last year? And then Jones was mentioning he was on the staff in Minnesota when Sean Mann was there. So he knows him too. Yeah. I mean, it's a lot. It's a lot going on with these two teams, man. But when you look at it, the talent has to take over. Yeah. That's what you think would have that's the talent has to take over. And there is going to be just prepared everybody might be a little sloppy, might be a little sloppy. Oh, I expect that. Yeah. But as long as we come out on top and we look like we're moving in the right direction, that's why I think that matters because even last night we talked about that San Francisco game. They came out in that second half, right? Like they caught their second win and they just started throwing haymakers. Yeah. Well, they felt they supplied. They brought the food. Dude, I know if John Richie watched that game last night, he had to he had to be crying tears of joy to see that wham from the full bag and the full bag motion and how they

used that. That's old school football right there. They brought the full bag back in a big way last night. Well, and they ran and the 49ers ran the ball really well last night. I never run it right up the middle on the ramps so they took it to them. It was it was a great game by Kyle Shanahan's team 215 592 94 94. That's how you hop it. All right. We got a lot to discuss today on the show. We'll get this with fillies in a little bit. That was a bad loss yesterday and a bad series against the Houston Astros france. Keep Friday at 12. Scott will join us ahead of the final series of the year against the Atlanta Braves. That starts tonight down at land and we'll go east dropping on the enemy. There's a narrow moment. Hughes favorite segment every football Friday. Guess the takes. It's I'm it's great. There's not like the first football Friday of the year and this one it comes with a must win. This is a must win football game for the Philadelphia Eagles. Agree. Disagree and I have an official statement in the 11 o'clock hour on my bowl prediction gone bad yesterday. We'll get to all that. Your calls next is that a must win for the Eagles. I say yes. Hugh Douglas doesn't believe so. Where do you come down? It's the midday show sports radio 94 WIP.

Welcome back. Good day, show Hugh Douglas. Joe Jill you guys with us 215 592 94 94 official statement on my bowl prediction gone bad at 1115 and I think he wants me to apologize to Nick Cereyani for something. I'm not going to do that. We'll get to all that coming up. Your phone calls here is this a must win football game for the Eagles. Obviously it is. Obviously it is. It clearly is. We go to gentleman Jack up on WIP gentleman Jack. You know what's going on. What's up Jack? What do you think, man? Well, I mean it's been 9 first time call. I've been here 9 years. I've never called before. Well, happy to have you. Welcome to WIP. Thank you. I've been around to a lot of media markets in the area. I lived Chicago, Atlanta, LA, Ohio and I think by far you guys in this city is the best. So I want to give those kudos out first. I can't wait to say my heart goes out to the Vickers 911 including myself.

So that's all I want to say about that. And definitely this is a must win. I mean just who they are, we got to win. We can't give away games that we should win. And I feel confident because of Jaywin. You know Jaylin's fine. He got the money. He got the girls and that's all a little new. You heard that. Now he's back. He's going to be fine. He was jailing going to be fine. He's out of mind. Yeah, I think he will be. I think he will be. Like you say, you got the money. You got the girl. Well, he might want some more money at some point. You're going to get that financial deposit. Yeah, that's that. Well, I don't know about apology. Jack, go ahead, Jack. He got earned that money now. He knows it. And Jay's a winner. Jay has been a winner. He's been a winner. He's a winner. Well, he is a winner. And now it's about evolving in a new office. Jack, then we've preached a phone call on the kind of words. All right, expectation week one. Jay won her to the new office. You Douglas. I expect I expect to have a pretty good game.

I expect my phone is doing something. Yeah, I expect a lot of different. I expect them to have a pretty good game. You look at the you look at the combined passing yards from all the quarterbacks that I played thus far. I think 225 yards is decent. I think that's a decent start because you I forgot who it was. I think how many times do we the Eagles offense got to 225 last year? No, I'm saying that. That would be nice. I'm yeah, I think that's a good number for the I think it'd be nice. Okay, 100. I'm thinking like 190, 190, 190, 200. Yeah, I am in 200 feels like a number you want to get to because it's the first game of the season. And we've seen even, you know, they were throwing the ball all over the school yard last night, but we've seen, you know, the last two games, the passing game has not been as crisp the best passing game that I've seen thus far in the four the two games that I've seen. Party was parties. No question. Oh, without quite any through a pick early and just kept going. Just kept going. He like there's something to be said because there were to tell the two different games from Wednesday night to thursday night's game Friday, whatever you want to call it.

You saw two quarterbacks that established the passing game early in the game. The other game the other night, you saw more of a ground game or more of a mixture of the running the past game. But these two quarterbacks were gunslingin last night. And one, I looked at when I was looking at staffer, I thought a step if Steph Curry on a cold night. Now, I haven't seen too many times that Steph Curry has been cold. That's not too many of those. Yeah, I haven't seen too many of those. But that was the thing that I thought about when I saw him throwing the football because he threw, he threw a couple of lasers, the pukas early on. And I thought I was a yeah, this is probably going to get ugly, but they never, he could never consistently do it. And they got the first pick when party through the first pick, they turned around a couple of plays late and gave it right back. Oh, they did. There's no question. So here, so here, for me on Sunday, it's not about passing yards for jail and hearts. It's about points scored on the board. Yeah. So I'm going to, here's the number for me that I am most interested in for Sunday. 24 is the number. I'm going to throw a stat at you. I saw this week when it comes to Jaden Daniels as the commander's quarterback.

Here Jaden Daniels is 12 and O as a starter in Washington when they give up fewer than 24 points. When the commanders allow fewer than 24 points, which Jaden Daniels has their quarterback, they have not lost in two years. 24 points is the number to me. That's, that's, to me, that's the number for Sunday. I don't care if Jalen has a hundred and sixty yards passing. If he has a 210 yards passing, 24 is the number for the Eagles offense. They get to 24 on Sunday. They will win the football game without question. Twenty, anything less than that. And I think the game becomes very tight with, you know, a possession to go in the fourth quarter. Let's go to Chris in middle town. What's up, Chris? Happy football Friday, man. Happy football. We're back, Chris. It is officially a football Friday. What's up, man? We are back. Let's start with this. So 25 years ago, our country was attacked. But unfortunately, the people that did it, they had the wrong idea because they didn't go well for them after that. So I actually was just out of the army.

I was living in Tucson, Arizona. So definitely a day I'll never, never forget. Fortunately, a lot of good friends of mine ended up going over there. So I'll leave that right where it's at. But you know, guys, this is what it is. It's time. All right. Sunday night. Crime time. The light will shine. The crowd's in a war. The bell is going to ring. The conquest begins. Then it's what it's all about. Division and temple. Bring the Lombardi trophy. Back home. Where it belongs. Bring it back to Philadelphia. Back to the city that is equal to lunch. Hopefully, it's in its face. We're about to show everyone that our birds are going to come in, rip your face off, and pick your eyes out. We are birds of prey. Sunday will deliver pain like the grim reaper delivers death.

We are going to let all that big football team compete. We will bury these beasts broadthored and put the lead on notice. This brother is here. This is our house. This is our call of fear. We are gladdened. Armour on. Swarding here. Light in our eyes. The slaughter will begin. It's there to you. We'll release a house of hell on the con. The fresh free foal needs provide. I'll walk this line. It's tired of death. They're going to chop the commie faces, indiscerts, and bury the rest. Stay far more clean. It's going to shred them for over 200 yards along with the hatchback of touchdowns. Billy, stand up.

Why equal, why? Lunch of power. Lunch of house of hell on. Lunch of pulley. We are the football team. Let's and we hit the oldest. We are the football team. This is our house. This is our city. This is our time. Now go kick with the launch to us. Why, evil, why? And let everyone in the NFL know. This brother is here. USA, USA, it's Belkass. It's my city. Help me out. It ain't gone. You know what? Appreciate it Chris. I got to say, Will and Chris, they're week one ready. I mean, they had a training camp, obviously. They were ready. I ain't gonna lie. That was great. But I was kind of rude for his voice to crack. Oh, not you could not, not a week one.

You can't have that. We couldn't have that. We didn't want to do. Hey Chris, my bad dog. I wanted your voice to crack. That was open. It was going crack. Some tells me we'll get a voice crack on an Eagles champ before the show is over. Someone, two, one, five, five, nine, two, 94, down. All right, coming up. We'll get to everyone's phone calls here. Is this a must win football game for the Eagles? It is 1,000% that for me. They need to win this football game to get to where they want to get to the season, to get to the win total that need to win the NFC East, to be where we want them to be. This is one of those games that has to be a win. Who's offensive line is a mess. Must win football game. Who Douglas disagrees? Where do you come down? You're take on the game. And we'll get to the fills as well. Who had, you know, that was really a disappointing day yesterday and disappointing series against the Houston Astros. We'll get to all that. Your phone calls. And it's the midday show on sports radio 94 W.I.P. Y'all everyone. Why for that sports book is America's fastest growing sports book. Other sports books. Midday show. Hugh Douglas. Joe Chilli, you guys with us 215-592-94-94. Opening week on W.I.P. presented by Hands Free Sketch for Slippins. Just step in and go. The Eagles go on Sunday and it is a must win football game in my mind.

They get the season off to the right start. A great discreet when you come down. You're taken on the game. We'll get back to everyone's phone calls on the Eagles here in a second. But here are a couple minutes on the fills. So we were there yesterday, you know, doing the leading off into the game. We thought about what the stakes were, right? They go to Atlanta tonight. So they came into yesterday, three games back. Atlanta was playing at the same time. Hugh of the Phillies had won yesterday. They would have guaranteed themselves to stay at least within three games, right? If Atlanta had lost two, maybe it could have been down to two. Instead, Hugh, the double whammy happened. Phillies lose, Braves win. So now the lead for the Braves before this weekend is back to four. That hurts. But yesterday, for me, was a really frustrating win. Not just because they lost the game two to one. But Hugh, they reverted yesterday. We talked all month of August how the Phillies had stopped chasing as much. Right? They had better appats. Yeah. So yesterday against Christian Javier, which gave, you know, Brapeck, you know, weird feelings back to the Nohider in the 2022 World Series. But against Christian Javier and the Astros yesterday, the Phillies saw 65 pitches out of the strike zone.

They swung it more of them than they took in the whole time that Chase Raid has been tracked in the last 17 years or so. It is the highest Chase Raid the Phillies have had in a game since 2009. Like think about that for a second. We know this team chases a lot. They do it in the playoffs. We talk about it all the time. Yesterday was the worst day they had chasing pitches out of the zone in 17 years. Hugh, that felt like they reverted to what they are. We don't want them to do and they didn't do the whole month August yesterday. And it just was not a good series against the Astros disappointing yesterday. Yeah. And you can't have that. You know, we were talking about the other day. And I always said, well, the last couple weeks I've been saying, be with your feet are. Yeah. And to have the kind of moments where you had where it looked like you weren't chasing and to revert to that. At this time, it's not a good feeling for Phillies fans knowing that going into the postseason. We've had a problem with that. We've had a problem with cash trying to play hero ball. Of course. And you know, I mean, look, the good teams, good pitchers are going to look at what they did yesterday and say we're going to do that exact thing to them in the biggest moment. It was very disappointing.

I should get here. Bryce Harper after the game yesterday talking about the chase. And is it a problem or a bad day? I think we'll be okay. You know, I really do. I don't see us. You know, going backwards and that today. Going backwards and that. In those situations or anything else. I think we'll be fine. Obviously, you know, we got to do it. And you know, if we don't, then it's going to look as that like a dead. You know, the last couple years. But, you know, I think we've done a good job over a course of, you know, 35-40 games. So I think we're just going to stay within, you know, within that. And they did. I mean, they had a good run. I mean, August was great. This was not a good homestand though. Yesterday was the worst one of them. But it felt like they started to revert a little bit off fence. They have to get that corrected. And they wasted a good adding by Zach Wheeler. Zach Wheeler kind of gutted through that thing. And got out of a lot of trouble yesterday to keep the, you know, keep the Astros to once, one run and seven.

And it's a good start by him with nice strikeouts. But disappointing. And it makes the task to try to go catch the Braves very hard. I mean, to lose the game yesterday. This is disappointing. Well, Scott Fransky coming up at noon with us. Scott is out about the series coming up. And where the fills are. That's coming up at 12 today. All right. Let's go back to the phone lines. Demand in Delco is up on WIP. Demand. Yeah, good morning. Good morning. What's up there? I don't know. What's up? What's up? What's up? What are you thinking? What's up? My partner. What's going on, man? How you doing today? How many times are you going to ask us what's up? Three. I thought it was causing you, you, you, you, but I called the mess with Joe J. Okay. What would you do? Remember. What you said to me last week, right? We could fall last. We could send all summer all year. That Max, you star for what to do. Drake May, right? These dudes are the name all the time. They better than Jalen, right? And I kept telling you, don't the moment, but you always says, don't the moment. The great moments when we need our guy, he comes through.

I watch Drake May. So like an umbrella under pressure. Yeah. So we did last year was a fluke for them. They had the easiest schedule in the whole NFL Joe, the whole NFL. And you believe he better than my guy? Well, he was better last year by a lot, Devon. I mean, without question, he was way better last season. As far as the game on Wednesday, he was, he was bad on Wednesday, Devon. And I think there is a fair question. What's that? Who didn't play last year, Joe? Remember, he had to eat it. He was supposed to be better. I don't think anyone thought he would be second MVP. But yeah, I mean, I agree with you. I thought the schedule was easy last year. Oh, that's not. And he was bad on Wednesday. I said that a lot yesterday. He was actually was terrible in that game. So, yeah, you know, we'll see where his season goes. But a bad star for Drake May, I agree with you on that. Terrible. All right. Now, how about you? I got a guy last week. What about him? Matthew Stafford, the guy who can't move a lick. But Devon, Devon. Jalen Hartz is not as good as Matthew Stafford.

I mean, we could have the conversation on Megas May, did it once. I mean, come on. I mean, Matthew Stafford is a better player. Okay. According to you, now I can get my point across. I want to work with Joe. Of course. This one will get reduced. According to everyone, right? And according to everyone, but according to you, right? Stats matter, right? So, Matthew Stafford only got his joy in everything when he got to the rims. Prior to that, he threw the ball a million times. So, your mommy of Jew blitzel was some ways, right? He threw the ball. He got it out of his hands. He's a great saw of the ball. But Devon, meaning that he's better than Jalen, Jalen got more accomplishment than he got. If you ask me, believe it to me, he's a better quarterback. If I say I want right now today, Matthew Stafford or Jalen, I'm going to take Jalen because Jalen can get out the way he can run. He's much younger and he can evolve. He's been alive. He showed up there. He's not me top. Matthew Stafford was the MVP of the league last year. The league. Yeah. And he couldn't move. He could move. But what is that mean? So what the paint man couldn't move. Tom Brady couldn't move. Who cares? Yeah. Yeah, but look at him this year.

He threw three intersections. Jalen, I'm going to do that in that moment. Stafford, did you ever notice that in that moment? Stafford, did you ever notice that in that moment? Stafford, you never know. Stafford, you never know. No. He threw one. Yeah, two. I think it was one. He was one. Well, he should have threw two more. Oh, I had two more because he was reckless out there. He was reckless. He was one of his expectations. It was reckless. Devon, could Jalen play well like one time before we try to have this debate? Are we not prepared for what if he has a bad game on that? Also, he didn't play well on game, guys. He didn't play well last season. Well, it's crazy. It's a thing, Joe. I believe that he will play somewhat mediocre the first couple of games because he has to get used to the offense. But I'm telling you, by mid season, when I call you out of six and eight weeks, I don't want to hand that, Joe. Well, I don't want to hand it to much. But to much. Here's what you're going to hear. If he's playing as well as those guys or better, I'll say that. And if he's not, I will say that too. This isn't like, you're going to say that. But Devon. You're going to admit that. Devon, I don't know why this is so hard for everyone. Hold on. Again, again, Devon, we preached the phone call.

I know we weren't doing this show then. But in 2022, I thought Jalen was the top five player in the NFL. I said he should have won the MVP or he would have if he didn't get hurt. If Jalen plays at a high level, I'll say he played at a high level. I don't just sit here and say he's not good. And if he plays well, I still say that. It feels like with everyone else, if he doesn't play well, you just decided he's good and his play doesn't matter. Every week, the play matters. We are at peak Jalenhurt's insecurity. Do these people know what kind of can of worms you open by reacting like this to one game? To game one. To both May and Stafford. Now I was told this. I was told that. Could you imagine if we came in on Sunday or Monday and Jalenhurt's was, you know, whatever. He doesn't have a good game. He's similar Stafford numbers, right? 155 yards. No touchdowns. One underception. And we're sitting here going. I told you Jalen can't run this. Yeah. What kind of a reaction would we get? Well, it's true. You're being unfair. It's too early for people to understand how ridiculous they sell. It's one game. It's one game. Now the main thing, if you want to say the jury's still out because May is still young, they

had an easy schedule. I think that is fair. And he did not play well in the postseason last year. I think there's, that's fair. The Stafford thing. I mean, guys, I mean, here two weeks ago, Daniel Aloffze is on TV saying, if Stafford wins on a street voice, it's top five to seven quarterback. Yeah. I'm a subscriber now. We have a symbolic. We disagreed with that. But the fact that that is even a conversation means the guy's pretty good, right? That someone could say he's close to the upper echelon of all timers is like, well, he's obviously good. Well, by the way, a lot of the focus is on the quarterback that lost and played badly. Yeah. What about the other one? No one has anything to say about Brock Purdy. No. Well, all right. Because he played well. All right. I'm just going to throw. You know, but like we get the I was told this guy is better than Jalen, but like do we. Now using the same logic, I was told Jalen was better than Brock Purdy. Well, on those lists this summer, most of them had Purdy ahead of her. I just. I could say I told you so. Yeah. One game. I guys, you. People are nuts. Well, that's why they need to win the game on Sunday. Sunday is one game that's a must win. It is absolutely a must win game.

Let's let's go to Jeff and will me to Jeff. So what happens if Jalen balls out on Sunday and we lose? What are you going to do that? There's no easy way. I love the way you said like, what are you going to do? Well, I'm not going to do anything. I'm going to sit here and talk about it. But I'll be disappointed. They lost the game and think it's a really big deal for the season, but I'll be happy Jalen playing well. I mean, I would be more disappointed if they lose because it's the commanders. Me too. I don't think it's a it's a must win game. Yes, because you don't want to lose to the division team early in the season. Yeah, could it come back to buy you at the bus later on possibly? But there's no way they're going to lose to the state. I agree with you. To me, it's one of the four or five easiest games on the schedule. You go to Arizona, you go late in the season, there's a couple of games and they're like, they should win that one. Indianapolis at home. There's some softer spots, but if I'm drawn up a list of the easiest games, this is on it. So that's why to me, it's absolutely a must win.

Yeah, in that sense, yes, it is because you cannot afford to lose the games you're supposed to win. Right. In the NFL. That's just telling agree with that. You can't do it. Well, and you know what I'm saying? Yeah, totally agree with that. That's why I say it's a must win on that on that tip. Yeah, as far as overall season. I mean, Are we just going to just shut it down after Sunday? If they lose, no, we're going to be super mad. No, but I will say this. We're going to be on our feet. We're going to be on our feet. Listen, guys, I'm not shutting it down. And obviously there's months and months and months and months to go. But I don't. The path to 11 wins includes this game. Right? It does. Yeah. So I think you and I, Jeff good phone. I think we see it similar. I mean, it's hard to say it. It's why I think it's hard for people to say it out loud because you don't want to. What do you mean? Like what if they don't win, right? A must win. But they need to win this football game. Joe, I get exactly where you're coming from. And and and to be honest, I'm being logical.

But football sees about the start. So nobody's being logical. So I think a lot of people are I pick up what you're putting down. Because if you lose this game, it's going to be all the questions that we have about offense things. Cabot, not Cabotulo, but I'm still comfortable. Yeah. Well, no, that's what I'm saying. It's going to be we're going to be one of the main and right guy for the job. Yep. We're going to be wondering if if Jayland's the right guy for the job. What's going on with the office? Like there's going to be a whole lot of questions. We're going to overreact to this game. And that's the natural response to it. But when you talk about the path that the Eagles are on, they're still in a good space. It just won't feel good because you know, when you look at this team, and you look at the Comma doors, we don't feel like you went, we're not in the same call to say. That's exactly the same. Exactly. Exactly. If you take an L, I get why you upset. Definitely get why you a must win our two one five five nine two ninety four. I will get to last night along with your calls on the birds for Sunday. Is it a must win game? I will, uh, well, I hear from Sean McVeigh. I'll give my official statement on my prediction gone wrong 12 hours after I made it.

Bull prediction yesterday. And you Douglas told us he took a ton of notes on the game. So we'll roll. We'll roll through those next on the midday. So it's for it's radio 94 WIP. This is why I do my read. Hey, people, you know, I like my bourbon. And I mean, I like some good bourbon. My bourbon of choice is not other than Woodford Reserve, the official bourbon of the Kentucky Derby. And this month, we are celebrating national bourbon heritage month. And trust me, if you're going to honor America spirit, you have to get, get out and get it right. You got to get to do it right. Folks in America spirit. And trust me, if you're going to honor it, you better honor it with an elite glass of craft is still whiskey on the planet. The best craft is to go to the still whiskey on the planet. Because a month, this big deserve a bourbon is good. And what I'm talking about is woof a reserve. Right now at your local fine wine and good spirit stores, woof a reserve, 750 bottles are $2 off. And that's just not for the classic straight bourbon. The deep rich double oak and spicy woof a reserve, ride 750s are also $2 off. Whether you crave a smooth, old, fashionable, preferred neat head to the fine wine and good

spirit stores today to elevate your home bar. National bourbon heritage is month and woof a reserve. Celebrate responsibly. It was bowed down. It was bowed. We had 12 hours, folks. You have 12 hours. Yeah, that one went upside down. Welcome back. It is the midday show. Hugh Douglas show, Giulio. I did say 11, 15. I would have an official statement. So listen, here's the deal. This side. No, listen, I just want to say this. I mean, I was wrong. Dead wrong. Not, not, and it's so wrong that I got new halfway through the game. I was like, man, this, this thing went belly up. It wasn't even a contest the second half. I will say though. What you got? Much like when I revealed something that I was privately thinking last year about Tanner McKee, I thought it was a safe space. I thought a bold prediction segment is supposed to be bold. And I thought, you know, it happens, right? You make a bold prediction. It goes bad. You kind of move on. But I obviously people are hanging on it. So, I mean, you guys are right. I was wrong. The Rams probably a little over hyped. Twenty, you know, was a little bit.

It was lofty. It was a little lofty. And now they're own one. I still think they're going to end up a quite a good team and quite a great team and be in the mix with a certain bowl. But last night, they got their ass kicked. I will take the L. They got dry. Yep. Do you think it was worse than your Bryce Huff prediction if years ago? Oh, we do. That's what we're doing. I was just asking. So you back up, got a back to prediction. Now you want to bring it back to me. Well, yours was a great one. I mean, it's one that we saw as those legs years later. Is it worse? Uh, yeah. It is. I don't think so. It was hyperbiosal, super hyperbolic. At least mine was based in some kind of, you know, there was a chance. Not a shot. Wait, I want a second. Bryce Huff had 10 sacks when he was with the, uh, with the jets. But a lot of guys have 10 sacks. Yeah, I mean, but you know, how I was 10 was special. She came from Memphis. He was special. I translate to the all-time NFL sac. He came from Memphis. Oh, what? Nobody cares. Again. They're all in Memphis. You just going to sing it. No, no, no, no, no, no. You're not. No, we're not letting you sing for the thing. I'm excited about this start. It's for the holiday too. I'm excited about the Bryce Huff.

This is the ring. I have to do it anything. Okay, I made a mistake. Okay. But that was last year. Let's talk about Joe's mistake. He made a mistake. Yeah. Well, I just addressed mine. It was crazy. It was two years ago. It was a huge L big L. Big L. Let's hear Sean McVay. I mean, he took the L.S. And I just predicted they win a lot of games. Sean McVay last night in Australia after he took his team. They're like 24 hours before the game. Then they got their ass kicked. Let's hear it. They had coach through Ramsed had a say here before you give your takes. And they get a lot of notes less. I actually want to steal some McVay statement there and apply it to my prediction that they go undefeated. It's good. I'm a humbling day for me yesterday that I made that prediction. Also, it will define me only if I allow it to. So the yesterday's ball prediction that the Rams will go undefeated the season is not going to define me here because I'm not going to allow it to define any of my predictions. You know, you know what I heard? Even the bad ones. You know what I heard when I heard him talking. What's your year? I heard a guy who tried to cover every question that was going to be asked to him in one shot. I agree. That so that he wouldn't have to be asked the questions.

Let me tell you the first thing that jumped into my head when I saw it. The Rams getting dragged all of the outtracks and being physically dominated because let me tell you what I saw. Coach, I hadn't made a statement yesterday. You know, because they they went there a week early and they they were chilling. They said, Oh, and the Rams say, Oh, you know, we data tells us we're going to get there the day before and stay there two days and yada yada yada. They said, Okay. We about to beat y'all up. And that was the game plan. When you talk about, I think it was called the WAM, the WAM block with the full back, like it brought me gave me PTSD because I remember that when that full back going motion and he get that full head of steam and you hit that line, you just knew it was only a matter of time before that takes his toll. And then when the second half started and you kept seeing them doing it and you start seeing you, you just called it moving the crowd. That offensive line start moving the crowd. That was old school football right there.

That was good to see, especially when you talk about the researchers on a running backs this year, you talk about the full back trying to make a comeback, even though you know, it ain't too many. I'm in the league. The ones that are in the league, man. There's some hammers. There's some hammers in the league. Alright, a few things. You know, I know you took some notes. I got I had some things I wanted to get your thoughts on from that game and now I kind of spinning in how it pertains to the Eagles. Here the Rams don't play in the preseason. They look tired and sluggish. Now some of that might have been the way they traveled. I don't know. I mean, I don't know the science behind all of it. I do wonder though, Hugh, if the league has gone too far one way and you know, we'll see how the Eagles play Sunday, right? They didn't play any of their starters in the preseason, but didn't it seem like the Rams starters weren't prepared for a full game physically? They looked tired by the end of the game. They did. They look beat up. Yeah. They got beat up. They got out physical. Now, you know, for tea, make a coward out of you. Now, that's another cliche I'm going to hit y'all with today. Great. He's hard to talk about. But where's the counter at now?

12. What's that? Yeah, that's my. We should have the cliche counter here. That's a great. But I'm saying it does, man, and you could tell the momentum switch. And you know what else was more egregious than that? Was the coach. That's why I said you should apologize to Nick Sianic because he gave up. He gave up, man. Why would I apologize to Nick? Because because we all talk about, can I finish? No. Nick wasn't involved last night. Can I finish? No, but no. You should apologize to Syria. You. Why? Because I just feel like you should because you about to say something. I'm out of my YouTube car while we at it. You know what? I feel like you should apologize to me. You're not ridiculous to say. You know what else? Look at my copious nose here. I appreciate it. I appreciate it. Nick, you're crazy. Let me. I appreciate your quarterback skill set. That's what I came up with. What does that have to do with last night? Why? I just felt like going ahead. Let me ask you. You know what? Everyone wants so desperately for last night to be some sort of referendum on the Eagles. No. It's not, guys. Okay. I don't think, Sean McVay, for all the accolades that he get for being a smart hit coaching

in, I'm a tie to the Nick Sireon. We always say that he's a smart, like he's smarter than coach Sireon. Well, I think he is. I don't think so. I don't think so. In the biggest thing that he did was the travel bubblehead thing he did with travel. Make it to the team there, time to get them ready. They made a mistake. They look, they look washed. I will, I will offer this off. I think we all agree the Rams are probably going to be fine this year. No, they're going to be fine. But a little bit of an older team. Yeah. Well, I mean, eventually Stafford's not going to play it as MVP level. He played bad last night. I mean, you know, Miles Garrett's not old, but he knows bringing his, um, we don't, you know, the whole Iron Donut thing's exciting. But the man's a couple years out of the leagues like him. He didn't retire early. There's more questions about them than, than I think that we're different. Yeah. Well, so all right. It was last night a good night for the Eagles as far as, uh, no, the outcome. I don't think it was not because the, the not, that was a loss I gave to the Niners before the season. Now they have an extra win.

I didn't expect a T with fear one of the like he is that was that a takeaway for the last night. Are the Niners better than we thought? Yeah, Joey both. I think both of which ever, whichever one of them, if we're going to make any grand assumptions off of last night, I think everyone knew penciled in the Rams and the Seahawks as, as contending teams. Yeah. We went at the fight for a playoffs. The Niners were a question mark, but now I think, you know, again, if we're making grand assumptions off of last night, that's another team we now have to worry about the end of six. I kind of thought of them as nine or 10 wins. Now, maybe they're at 11. They just took a game last night from a team that I didn't think they beat. So that's that, uh, one more thing you I had. I'm not sure if this and your notes are not. What was that? So the, the offense is we watched last night. We, we are thinking starting Sunday, we started to see something similar in terms of style right from the Eagles. That, that's the tree that Manion came from. I think what, let's choose pretty because he played well. Stafford did not last night. Do you think, Jaylin can get to a point where he gets the ball out of his hands as quick as party did last night? Because pretty, pretty was, pretty was slinging it. Pretty played well, but what caught me about him, not just that he played well because he's had a lot of good games. It's how quick it's like, bam, bam, they had to, they had to stand on the screen at one

point two point two seconds. He was getting rid of the ball. Yeah. Uh, uh, no, me going ahead just quick starting. It's a, that's a unique skill set because we were talking about it this morning. Now, that's where, that's where I said I appreciate your quarterback skill set comes in. That's where for us, I feel like we're going to run a lot of roll outs because that allows Jaylin time to see the plays develop and it also gives him an outlet. So no, because when you talk about Brock, party, by pretty throwing the, you know, when Brock, party through that pick, Joe, he threw it because he didn't put enough mustard on that high dog. Like, when he threw that ball, it was a good throw, but he didn't anticipate the, the fender dropping back deep into covers because he had nobody in his zone. He had a layer at over there. Yeah. Nobody was in his zone and you're taught that when you're in a zone, just keep dropping. Like if nobody's in your area, right? Just keep dropping. Get depth because you know, it might something, anything can happen. So just get depth or whatever the quarterback does, you can see it. And, and what happened was, dude kept getting depth.

He put it up. He didn't, he didn't zip it in there enough. And he said, you saw when he said, hey, that's my bad. But guess what he did? He kept throwing that thing. And I'm like, man, Barperdi today looked better than Matt. Now Matt, Stafford has some missiles that he threw, but on the consistent basis, Barperdi was better. Barperdi was a better quarterback. Yeah. Now I will, I'll meet in the middle on one thing because you said appreciate the skill set, right, Jaylen? The one thing that the Rams could not do last night, we do, I think, take for granted with which yellow and the Eagles. The goal line, right? Like Stafford got stopped at the, Jaylen doesn't get stopped there. The Eagles don't get stopped on the half yard line on fourth and an inch. The two is placed, right? But that, I thought the game ended on that play. Yeah, it felt like the momentum switched. It was 17.7 I think. And the Rams were about to go in 17.14. And that's a different game if it's three point game. And they got stopped. Niners went right down the field. It's 24.7. It's over. So, you know, not every quarterback can do that, right? Not every offense has that short yardage, like automatic thing in there.

And the Eagles for years now, which, Jaylen, have been incredible out of two one five, five nine two, ninety four ninety four. Is this a must win game for Eagles on Sunday? To me, it absolutely is. And of course, you can react to last night, the fills as well, who start a series in Atlanta tonight. John in Alentown is up on WIP John. John. What's up guys? Hey, John. What's up, John? Hey, you know, nine eleven. You know where I was on nine eleven. Where were you? I was in New York City picking up records from the Playboy office. I came out of there and I'm going down the Turnplay coming out of there. And I saw the smoke coming from the buildings. I'd never been so scared by life. I was going by ninety miles an hour down the New York Turnplay. John, I can't, I can only imagine that. I mean, every day, you know, every year on this time, we hear different stories like that. And for the people like you that are either in the city or close to it, I mean, it's, it's just, I mean, it's terrifying for the rest of us just even, even in our way.

I mean, it's just, it's the scariest day we've had as Americans in our lives. And my buddy didn't get out of the city because he was in there later to me and he had to park the truck in a neighborhood and walk across the bridge. Oh my goodness. They get out of it. Well, the part that made it so. And you know, it was so bright out. It was so unreal. I'm like, what? And then I was, I was just to the radio and they're like describing what happened. It was a coldly smoke. Yeah. Well, the part that made it so hard for so many people is, it just was a different time with communication, right? Like not every cell phones were still, you know, some people had them, but not many. So if you had someone near that area, you know, you didn't know until they got to a phone until they could contact you. It's just, it was, it was terrifying, John, for sure. It was unreal. So anyway, yeah, guys tomorrow, I mean, Sunday must win. I'm going to, and I'm going to tell you why it's a must win. Because if they don't win this game, the people who hate jail and are going to come out

of the woods and hate Syrian and they're like, oh, I see they, they stink. They stink. They suck. So they really got to win this game because I don't want to hear that on Monday. You know, it's actually a really good point. Yeah, it is. Given the overreaction that we've gotten from those first two games, like we bet you guys not, everybody, not only better pray that we win, but that hurts. Looks good, especially after, after everything that we just heard. Like they, they have to win and now he has to look good. Yeah, you know, and John, I agree with you. I know it also, it gives them a cushion because you know, I think there's, we all think there's going to be a transition. But if they can, if they can get a win on Sunday and they should get a win next week as Tennessee is one of the worst teams in football, like two and a was a nice cushion. That way, if they have, you know, some rocky points, they have those two wins in their back pocket. We need these. And I, I expect them to win, but I expected not to look pretty, especially in the first half. I expect the defense to keep things in control. I don't expect to see that offense really get going or get any traction until the second half.

And I expect them to win the game. That's going to be just like the games this week. Yeah, it really, yeah. I mean, both games have been just dropped. Oh, they did. And they, I was impressed with the way they ran the ball on them. John, John, good phone call. Here, the other thing as we talked about the game last night, I thought it was interesting. And I wonder if, I wonder if we'll see any of this with the Eagles with sake, one and tank. Did you notice how often last night, Shanahan used his other back? I think his last name is black, the rookie at Indiana. And now maybe that was just a game plan thing. Maybe it's a strategy to keep McCaffrey a little healthier because he's getting older off a lot of touches. But that in the past with the Niners, every carry went to McCaffrey, right? Every carry. And we know he's had some great years. He's also had some injuries. He'll last night. They used their second back and it made me wonder if the Eagles will do something similar with tank. I think they will. I think they will because what it does and it's weird, right? Because change, just changing the running backs and still running the same place, it changes the pace of the game. And the perfect example that I always give is B Mitch.

B Mitch, when he was back there, man, it was difficult. I think it was what Stephen Davis. Stephen Davis was the bigger back. Yeah. And we were tattooing. I remember one year we went down there and I think it was a 98. We were tattooing him. And when B Mitch came in the game, just that vision, B Mitch has, when he played, he had vision to see what a holes were going to be. And to have that change of pace back out there, man, we were beating them. They give you an example. We were beating them. He comes into the game and his versatility, they get back in the game and they end up winning the game. So last night McCaffrey had 10 carries for 68 yards, 6.8 to pop. I mean, he was obviously very productive when he got the ball, but only 10 carries. He got five receptions. He always gets a lot of receptions. He were 15 touches. And McCaffrey's, McCaffrey's had a lot of years where it's in that 20s, right? 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25. Yeah. This might have just been one game. It's the first game of the year. Maybe he's in him. And I just, I wonder that. I wonder if the Eagles, if they saw that or their own plans, like, hey, instead of 23

for, for say, Juan, maybe we keep him fresher with 15 and he's better in his 15. Well, it is, it's this too. We keep your backs fresher so you get better downs from both backs. And they did. And not only that, Joe, it's funny because even I haven't played me like 20 some years, but you see the momentum change and it happened at the half. When they came off a half-time and they just started pounding the rock. It was just like, and you start seeing, just notice people, when you watch football, how how stout defensive lineman look at the point of attack at the beginning of the game and oppose to how they look at half-time when they're getting blown off the ball. And that night, you're just holding on for their life. Where I'm out. Yeah, you see guys getting that, because they say, what they call it, what they call it, when you get double team off line, get skinny. So you try to turn, right? You try to turn your shoulders so that you won't get blown off the ball. You still getting man-hander, but you're not, you're not giving up any ground. You're allowing the line back as the scape scraping everything, but you're not getting

blown off the ball, because you're getting blown off the ball. That's bad film right there. Yeah, of course. But that's what getting me, like in the middle, in the teeth of that defense, man, it was, it was all clogged up in the middle. Well, and I think this, this Sunday, and why I, I think the Eagles are going to win the game because they're two lines. Their defensive lines should dominate the commander's offensive line. And as the game goes on, we should wear them out and run the ball down their throat. That's how the Eagles need to win this game Sunday. And they should. And it's a must win, Aaron, in San Diego, is up on WIP, Aaron. Good morning, Philadelphia. Good morning, Aaron, on the football Friday. What's up? You, you Douglas. How are you, my friend? I'm good, man. How you doing? I'm, I'm doing great. It is the beginning. It is Friday. We got two days. It's exciting stuff. You know, Kyle, my good friend, Quinn, how are you today? Come on, man. He, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, easy, man.

He, right. There's, there's a gluvial message right there. But anyway, hey, and then Joe Gillio, yes. So your Rams fandom is, is literally like oozing out of your poor. I mean, that, that, that, that prediction yesterday was as bad as ESP saying that the Patriots were a super bowl team. I mean, that just, well, really, really, really, not, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I mean, mine is worse because the Patriots were in the football, right? So undefeated seasons don't happen very often, right? Patriots, dolphins. So mine is worse. It's more unlikely. Second, I, like, I could think a team is good without being a fan. Like the, I picked the Dodgers to win the World Series most years. Does it mean I'm a Dodgers fan? It, dude, you're, like, right now though, you're really in like a situation where, like, the, the must win this Sunday. I mean, come on. Let's, let's set our expectations to be realistic. Okay. We have a new, I'm really, like, I'm, like,

I'm a new off-and-the-line coach. Yeah. You're, Aaron, we have the Sky Martial. What are you talking about? The standard is the standard. Can I, can I, can I continue with my thing? You got everybody else. You're thinking stupid. Your thing is stupid. You know, I'm like, what? Aaron, Aaron, I'm surprised if this team goes two and two or one and three in the first four games, okay? But here's, here's the facts, okay? The Phillies are who we thought they were. Let's put them in the cabinet. The soap opera known as the Philadelphia 76ers has not yet begun. This is a problem that's being called. What are you talking about? It's like, in your time for the one thing that is pure in our lives that is true and in our lives that as sports fans, we can have confidence in three Super Bowls in the last ten years. Two Lamberti trophies, one Super Bowl MVP, Jalenites now-nope because the Sky Martial

Quadzilla, the Monsters of Broad Street, Jalen, I'm a bad man, Carter, Gordon Big Country Davis, Quinturbo Bay and Coupe are about to take flight on the commanders, okay? And once they get this locomotive, finally tuned and running on all cylinders, oh, be surprised. We go on at nine, ten, a letting-game win streak. God bless America. God bless the E.A.C.L.E.S. It's not a place to let need Daniel from your game. Let's go. All right, Aaron, we appreciate the phone call. How do we grade Aaron's call that time? That was awful. One of his worst. Pretty good. No, I'm saying. You have no standards. No, I'm saying you have no standards. I have no standards. Well, first of all, this guy lowering the bar to and to when all we heard all of season was we had the best quarterback on planet Earth, the history of planet Earth, but we can't

even expect them to beat the Washington commander. Anyone understand math, guys, if you think there's a chance they go two and two, which of the two are they going to win? Which of the two are the four, guys? This is one of the ones they should win. They're at home. They're one of the biggest favorites of the week. How are they getting to two and two without this one being part of it? Is anyone using their brains? This is a must-win football game on Sunday, two, two, one, five, five, nine, two, ninety-four, ninety-four. Just cute, Douglass is lower in the bar. Does it mean you have to? I'm not going to bomb this. You know, I'm being realistic about this. No. Realistically, they need to win this football game. They don't need, they should win this football game. Well, should end it. But it's not the end of the world. Well, I disagree. Wait until Monday and WIP, if it goes the wrong way. Yeah, that Monday, Monday, Monday, black Monday, dark Monday, whatever they want to call me. Not a good Monday. Oh, we'll get to another question we have about Sunday coming up. That's next, your phone calls. Midday Show, sports radio, ninety-four WIP. Weasie, wea. There's no short car. I should have been a singer. You? Weasie, wea.

Yeah, I could see that. Oh, karaoke definitely. Would you have tours? No, you don't seem like you like to tour. Not. A lot of people travel. You know what I noticed, I've been there when I went on with karaoke. It's a lot of try-hars at karaoke. Well, it's your shot. To do what? To get up on stage, like to have your moment. That's the whole point. Oh, okay. I'm just staying with you. I'm just staying with you. You don't want to have that. That's it. Maybe you get a record deal out of it. No, I didn't go ahead. Why not? Because somebody like you was funny. How did you get an acting? No, I didn't get up and seeing karaoke. But not being auditioned, right? No, they say, hey, you got skills. What skills? The paid up bills. That's what they told me. And I say, you know what, you're right. That's why I became an A-list actor. So I told my A-list friends. D. All my A-list friends. You know, I would bet the majority of people cannot name a thing that you were in. Because mostly I'm working behind a scene. Well, that's not an A-list though. No, I'm saying that. A-list actors are from the center. They're like, on the poster. In my heyday. They were going to get one. Yeah, one.

That's all of my point. That's all of my point. We are, you know, for this show about Ryan Reynolds and if he's an A-list actor. At least, at least, well, okay, that's fine. That was a fair debate. I mean, you're not even in the same class as Ryan Reynolds. I mean, come on, man. Ryan Reynolds, he called me the other day. Ryan Reynolds called you? Not really. It's sounding slick when I was a fan. Did you think Ryan Reynolds knows who a huge ugly guy says? Not a shot. Yeah, no. And Laji's a fucking dude. And Laji's a fucking idiot. Yeah, nobody, nobody me under myself into this lie. Okay. And Laji's a big football fan. Then he might know you are. Two one five, five nights, two, 90, 49, four. Before we go back to the phone lines here, Scott Franzk, we'll join us at noon for a france. He friday fills and braves this weekend. One last chance to make the NLAs close. So yesterday was a tough day for the Phillies chances to win this division. Who's the back of quarterback on Sunday? Yes. Okay, thank you. Are you taking the cereal out and not giving me an answer? Well, you know it was funny and it went a joke. What a joke. We were talking about this in a break. I said, what this does is it makes you as a defense, prepare for both guys, even though they might not play,

you always want to prepare for all contingencies. Do you think the commanders need to spend a lot of time preparing for any of the? Well, I think they don't need to, but they're going to. Because it's not smart not to. I mean, seriously, all jokes aside, because you will probably have three to four reps for the back up, right? But now you probably six to eight, you know, for both of them, because they don't know who they're going to start. You know, I gave you an example last night, just for example, when you talk about the San Francisco 49ers and they had the two running backs back there, the next team that they play are going to have to prepare for both of the running backs. And so that's going to take up more time for you to do preparation and everything like that. Who do you think it should be? Like if you're if you're Nick Sireonny and you're you're figuring it out right now, who's your back of quarterback? I'm going with the guy with the most experience, even though he did not separate himself and he looks, you know, like you would like to say, washed. He looks like he's a little older. I'm going to go with the rear rifle. I'd rather go with McKee. My anticipation is they're going to go with any Dalton. I mean, I my guess is Sunday when we get the inactive's and active's, any Dalton will be active.

And Tanna McKee will not be active for the game. I just the whole secrecy thing. I don't know guys. I mean, I appreciate some people live for that though, Joe. No, no, and I keep it playing closer to the best. I appreciate the Eagles trying to create any edge they can in any area. I think that's what the best teams at sports do. I mean, I just this one feels a little bit over the top. I mean, do we really need to on Friday be evasive about who the backup quarterback is going to be in the game? Especially when neither probably you're any good. I mean, it would come down to just if they play well or not at the end of the day. Right. I mean, you can't tell me the paths weren't prepared for the possibility of drew lock coming in. And that didn't really matter. It did not. Like the Seahawks made it very plain and clear who their backup quarterback was. Exactly. And the bats know it. And I think this this would be a little different if let's say one of these guys to me was mobile. Right. Then it'd be like, all right. Well, what kind of quarterback is coming in there similar? Yeah, they're not going to move anywhere. So I, you know, we'll say obviously we hope we don't see either of them or whoever the number two is. Yeah, we see the way the best. Well, right.

I mean, that's so let's just hope we don't get there. But it's next year on a continuing to say he doesn't know who is backup quarterback is there. They're competing this week barely. Klandel is up on WIP. Hey, Klandel. So what's up? What's up? Good, Klandel. What's up? Good, good, man. Listen, of course this weekend Sunday is a must win game. Tell him. Tell him, Klandel. We have a top five quarterback. I keep saying this last time I said this when I say he was the best quarterback in the NFC. You guys got mad at me. Not mad. I just disagree. That's terrible take. It means it's just a reason that. Because Dalynt has never left this fan base with a bad taste in their mouth after week one. He's always one week one. Okay. Yeah, right. Well, right. That's true. I mean, I hear you're defeated. You're dead right about that. No matter. No matter if it's a 10 to 13 game or anything, he's going to get it done week one and give the fans something good to start the season off with.

Also, I want to say to you guys who saying all the Jalen guys, we're we're illogical because we're making up things because of week one Drake, May, Stafford. And you guys making correlations between that. It's not the same thing because these guys, they're in situations that's been stable for them with the same same play call or same weapons and they can't get it done. These guys turn to deer and headlights. When situations arrive, they can't meet the moment. Hold on a second. When did Matthew Stafford turn to a deer and headlights last night? Nice. He's been the leak for 17 years. He's been in the leak for 17 years. He's been in the leak for 17 years. Being a deer, he's been in an accrued or I feel like a two different. But he's been a leak for 17 years. What is like what's last night in his career? It's just one game. I understand. I'm saying, I'm meeting the moment. He has expectations like the expert takes as you put on them undefeated. I'm a don't. I'm a don't. I'm a don't.

I feel like that everybody knows we're a super team, and I we got to do this. We got to do that. And he looked like he was shell shocked out then. He did look bad. I mean his accuracy was as bad as I've seen it in a while. Which you know and we'll keep an eye on it. Kyle said earlier, he is old. We'll see if is how well he plays it. Are you playing a good phone call. It's one game. Can I can I a say this because one game like listen, I understand that, you know, people are going to defend Jaylin because you know, they like him and he's won a lot. but can we not, like, let's be logical in our defense of him because a lot of time. Now you wanna be logical for that. No, no, no, no, because listen to what I'm saying. Clendell, then I'm not picking on you, but you called in and said, Jaylin Hertz is gonna win because he's a top five quarterback, right? What is Matthew Stafford? He was a top five quarterback till yesterday. Yeah, I was going to go for that. You see what I'm saying? I'm removing him from the top. I'm not like, I like to have fun and laugh and giggle, but when we talk about certain things, man, you got to kind of base it in some kind of logic. You know what I mean? So you say, he gonna win because he's a top five quarterback.

Well, okay, where's Matt Stafford in that top five question? Well, here's a question to block Perk. Blow your mind with this one. What if two top five quarterbacks play each other in week one? They cancel each other out, Joe. Ty, Ty game. Nobody wins. You guys are wild. I have one of my favorite all-timers I was told in you people today. Oh, yeah, I can't wait for it. All right, 2-1-5. Oh, you're gonna give me some more. It's a bonus with the 94 and I, but we have a big second half of the show coming up. Fransky Friday next. We're gonna ease drop on the enemy. The nonsense they're saying down in DC. We're here from Vic Fanzio, Merrill Moment. He was being cooking up a take. I can't wait to hear it. Guest, the takes coming up. But Fransky Friday, that's next. It's the midday show on sports radio, 94 WIP. And let's talk about my friends over at Calche. And that's my, you know, I'm gonna pull off a Hugh Douglas. We'll get them up here in a second sponsored by Morgan and Morgan America's largest injury law firm. We wait for Scott as the fills are down at Lanna. For there, you get some limit pepper wine. You think that's what you think that's what Scott's doing? We're not at a more than lemon pepper wings. No, you probably ordered them. And it's, you know, he just probably ordered some. Right. Is that what you do when you go down to Lanna? You order them. Limit pepper wine? Yes. Oh, no, I go get them. I'll pick them up. Yeah, like Louis Williams, who wanted to get his. They're in the bubble. When are you talking about Chicago? People are not the only attraction. I thought that was one of my wings. How come you haven't worn your hoodie? Because it's not warm enough. I probably bring it to a time when we go to London.

Because it post-beco. That's a good conversation starter in the pub. Yeah, ATL, Shawnee. Yeah. We have it on a Lanna shirt with the Eagles fans. Why? There's not like a worldwide fan than the people in London. Well, you know, no, they'll get it. I don't know. I think they'd get it. You think they'd get magic. Or if not, you tell them. Yeah, I'd be like, yeah, it's the best wing. If you ever go to Lanna, go there. I guess some wings from Magic City. All right. Let me update everyone on the couple of polls we have up here. Twitter questions sponsored by the PI Dental Center here. Your value, your smile is the first thing other see when they meet you. Learn about the schedule, your evaluation at PIDentalCenter.com. We start with this. Is Sunday versus the commanders a must win game. 70% no. 57% yes. That's not bad. You're in a generational run of guests in the Twitter question wrong. I mean, like just like, you're not even in the ballpark. They're both contenders and wins and this. You know, most people think this is a must win game. You're a man on an island. No, it's a must win game because of the Commodore.

That's what I said. No, I mean, I get that, but it's not. No, it's not. In the grand scheme thing, I look at it because and understand why I'm coming from people. And you can fan the way you fan it. I know that's what we're doing here. But I look at what was, you know, that bowl prediction that was made yesterday about the Rams going undefeated. That's not going to happen, but the, but the train is not derailed. No, but the same thing I feel the same way about the Eagles. Okay. Now, we will be, we will be, we will be greatly disappointed in this team, but I don't think that it would be the end of the world. I think the Eagles have far less margin for error than the Rams. The Rams blew a game less. They were terrible. They're not as, obviously not as great as I thought, but I don't think the Rams chances to make the playoffs fell apart last night. If the Eagles lose on Sunday, I expect them to win. I think they're going to win. Their chances to win the East go dip significantly to me and their chances to get to the end. Now, the wins they need to make the playoffs dip. So they need that. And I believe they're going to win. And I believe it is a must win.

We'll get back to all your calls on that. And one more of our polls, which you ducks this time. First, we got to talk to our guys, Scott Fransky, sponsored by Morgan and Morgan America's largest injury law from as the fills in Atlanta, the last stand for the NLE. Scott, how are you today? Scott. I am well. How are you guys? Pretty good. Pretty good. But we're a little concerned, Scott, because it feels like the last couple of weeks, the chase rate for the Phillies has been down. It was up a little bit yesterday. Is that something that we should be concerned with, given the fact that we didn't got too many more games to play? Well, yeah, I mean, it was obviously hard to watch yesterday and really over the last homestand. Good pitching and make your chase, I guess, a little bit. That's what it's designed to do. But it sounded like from some of the comments after the game last night, the guys are certainly aware of it. And hopefully that means they can kind of refocus and dial it back in. Scott, Phillies in Atlanta, and you're there starting tonight,

the Phillies will have a three game series. Now, yesterday, through a monkey wrench in the plans, because if they had one, all right, it would have been at least, they would have stayed at three. And they would have had a chance this weekend if they swept to tie the braves. Now it's back to four. The braves have the tie breaker making it more complicated. Scott, what's your feeling on their chances in this division? I mean, the math is not there for them, but they do have these three games which they could kind of change that math one last time. Yeah, I mean, clearly, probabilities will tell you that the math is not in their favor and catching them for the division is going to be hard. And not only that, but even if you did sweep them in three games, and you're one back with two weeks to go, the schedule's really not easy. And I mean, I think the Phillies, as much as we want to see them in the division, of course, and the Phillies want to still try to do that, they haven't, not like they're giving up hope on that. I think I'm adding these messages throughout, which I think is the right one, is to say, look, we're not in the playoffs, and we need to win every game.

Whether that's tonight against the braves or Tuesday against the Nats or next Friday against the Met. I mean, they need to win all the games that they can win. And that's been the message for a while. It's not really about, hey, let's look at the games back, the standings, and what's going on in the lost count stuff. It's like, we're not in yet. So we need to win every game to get in. And once we're in, you can start talking about positioning and home field and all those other things, but you've got to get in first. You do, and that is the number one goal. And then the other part will be where they're playing, right? If they get in, do they have home field in that wild curse? Here's, I heard them talking about it yesterday. So they're one up on the Cubs right now, but the Cubs do have that tiebreaker. If they end up tied, it's got, I'm curious how the Phillies might handle the last week of the season and what they might prioritize. Let's say they're in. Let's say we know what five or six games to go. They're going to make the playoffs. Scott, they could be caught in a, in between of, do we go to try to get that top wild card, get the games here in Philadelphia? Or do we make sure we're set up for the wild card series?

And as I look at it right now, I know things could change. It looks to me like if they stayed on turn, Zach Wheeler would pitch the last game of the season. I wonder if that would be worth it, especially how many innings he might pitch before a wild card series. Scott, what's your thought on home field versus setting themselves up if we get to that point with the Cubs situation? Well, I mean, the one thing the Phillies have going for them is the luxury of probably the bet, the deepest starting rotation that you're going to find. Amongst those teams, those wild card teams and those teams that might still have a chance to jockey for position. So it allows you to, I mean, if you did feel like you really needed to use Wheeler in the last day, which I don't necessarily think they would sell out for that. I really think they feel like, you know, certainly based on the way you look yesterday, he's kind of back. I think he got to feel like he's a little bit back and, you know, the next few starts will still play into that.

But I don't know that they go all in on home field just because, you know, and burn Wheeler on the last day, for instance. But again, you just keep playing them and once you get to the last week, then you can start to make those choices. But until you, right now, you don't have any choice. You got to throw your best guy that's available every single day and try to win every single day. Scott Fransky with us here, Phil's and Brave starts tonight, three games series down at Atlanta. Scott a pretty good homestand for trade turner, including back-to-back games with a home run. I thought the game a couple days ago where he had the hit to right field and then the home run to right field felt encouraging because he was, you know, going with the pitch and had some power behind it. But what are you seeing from Turner right now? We've been waiting all year for him to heat up. Could this be the time? Could be. And, you know, boy, that would change the narrative, wouldn't it? It's been such a bad year for him and he struggled to make any kind of real, you know, longstanding legitimate adjustment.

It looked like he was swinging the bat better over the weekend with the Braves, you know, even before he hit the two homers against Houston. I think he's staying a little bit more closed at the plate. Obviously, if he can eliminate chase, that's a huge part of it. That's been incredibly difficult for him to pull off so far this year. We've all seen it. Everybody knows, you know, breaking balls down in a way have been a bit of an emphasis for him. But if he can build a little bit of confidence, I know Dom Mattingley has talked a lot about him feeling like he's maybe lacking some trust in himself. And so you fly open because you're trying to cheat to get to the fastball, which leads you really susceptible to the breaking balls. And hopefully he'll trust himself a little bit more, try to stay closed. I think driving the ball the other way is a sign that he's trying to do that because you got to stay closed longer and let the ball get deeper if you're going to do that,

which he did for a couple of, you know, for a few at bats this week. Scott Fransky with us, Fransky Friday, Scott, you mentioned trust there. It certainly feels like Dom Mattingley still has trust in Alex McFarland. And I wasn't as upset as other people were last Monday after the Sunday game. I was upset they lost, but I like that McFarland challenged Acunia and he went right after him. And I, my favorite part about him is it seems like he has no fear and he's ready for this. Phillies went back to him in a big spot. What do you see what McFarland and do you think he's earning Mattingley's trust here as we get to October to maybe be the seventh or the eighth minute inning man in big spots? I think he is gaining that trust. Eliminating walks was a big thing first and foremost. He's calm down with that regard. You know, the challenge on Acunia, I mean, the reality is they play, you know, they sort of pitched him to a scouting report, but they didn't pitch him well enough. And it wasn't well enough, it wasn't a well enough executed pitch.

I probably would have preferred to change his eye level a little bit at some point along the way. You know, change the bat speed a little bit at some point along the way and then come back to the fastball. But, you know, that's a learning experience and maybe he'll be in that same kind of spot sometime this weekend and get another shot at Acunia and we'll see how he handles it. Scott, let's end with this. So Andrew Paineer is going to pitch Sunday coming off of not a great start though. We settled down a little bit after the tough inning against the Astros. As we move forward, it seems pretty clear to me that they're going to have their top four if they move through the postseason with Nola being the four. What do you think Paineer's role will be in the postseason and if it's in the bullpen, do they need to get him ready for that or is it a matter of he just goes out there and then they call him in the game if they want to use him? Yeah, I think they just call him in the game if they want to use him. If nothing else, maybe there's a test of trying to warm up a certain way, but other than that, I mean, I do think what you would probably, the role you would probably see him in,

is not, hey, I'm going to go get the seventh inning tonight and tomorrow night I'll come in in the eighth or whatever. That's not going to happen. He'd be a long guy. Certainly, if you get, you know, blown out early in a start, you know, let Sanchez has a bad start or something like that, which can happen obviously. Maybe that's a situation where you have Paineer waiting in the wings to piggyback with him and take down some innings so you don't blow through your entire bullpen in a short series. And the other part of that is the extra innings. You know, there's not a ghost runner out there at second base or whatever you won't call it. So you got to play baseball the same way as always. And that can lead to some longer extra innings. So you need some length there. And I think Paineer would be a candidate for that kind of a role. Scott, we appreciate it. As always, have a great weekend. Hopefully the fills do some damage and make this interesting. We'll be watching and listening. Thank you, Scott. Have a good one, Scott. Sounds good, guys.

There you go. Scott Fransky on a fransky Friday with us 215-592-94. It's a must win for the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. A great disagree. We'll talk about it at your phone calls. And we got an e-drop on a few enemies, one of our favorite Friday segments with e-drop. But what are they saying down in DC and across the NFL? We'll check in with some enemies coming up next. It's the midday show right here on sports radio 94 WIP. You know what this is you? That's football music. It's must win music. Welcome back. Midday show. Hugh Douglas showed you, you guys, but on 215-592-94. And we'll go e-dropping on the enemies. Not just the enemy this week. A lot of enemies out there. We'll get them in a few minutes. Your phone calls on all this. And if you just hopped in, look, it's so much fun to have football back. I love week one. I can't wait for Sunday. Well, the pre-game show will be on with Dave Spedera, 1 o'clock, Hugh from the stadium, countdown to kick off. And then the full pre-game show with 2 o'clock. Already got withdrawal for tonight. We're drawing the two days of football on our own.

Yeah, we got commas tonight. Well, we have the Fills Braves. Yeah, no, that's right. That'll fill the voice tonight. Yes, couch tomorrow. Those are some big games and the Fills. But you're right. We've had two prime time NFL games. Yeah, I'm like, ah. I'm like, catch up. I'm asleep tonight. Yeah, that's what happens. You're so, you, is NFL's back. You basically get it every night. But no, not tonight. We'll get it on Sunday. There were a lot of football, including the Eagles at 425. And for me, it's a must win game. The Eagles have an opportunity here against a team. They are far better than far more talented. And that team, the commanders, this is the best time to get them. They're all banged up. Their offensive line might stink. And then I don't have Laramie Tonsel. And I know division games are always weird. But Hugh, the next time we face the commanders, he will be down there in DC. It'll be on a short week. It'll be a short week after we play the Cowboys on Monday night. That's a weird spot. So we, I mean, this is the one we have to win. And every scenario I look at, when I look at the Eagle schedule, where I come up with 11 or 12 wins, which is, you know, kind of the bar you need to kind of get to, every scenario I come up with needs the commanders win in there.

And I think there's going to be some growing pains we all do. But I want that question to start the season. Commanders this week, Titans next week, both they have to win, need to be two and no going to Chicago. Hugh, you've had a couple hours to think about it. Are you really thinking your position that it is? They must win. That's your saying. And you know, you're supposed to beat the teams that you're supposed to be. Yes. But you can't, I look at it like you can't put all your eggs in one basket, man. You got it. What's the worst that happens? You get your feelings hurt. I can't remember that season. Just started. Think about all those people that say, oh, little rounds got super clean. They bought the road tonight. They're going to go 17 and no, they're going to win 20 games this year. Only I said that. No, I'm just saying I'm not talking about you. I'm just saying somebody else said it. I'm not. You know, I would never, you know, literally Joe Joe is the only one I've ever heard. I want to tell my Joe, but I would just say Joe's the one that said it. I want to tell my Joe. But wouldn't you agree with this? Let me throw this out there. I wouldn't. What did you directly do it? One of the bus wouldn't throw my partner in the bus. I wouldn't you agree? The Rams have more margin for error than the Eagles? No. Oh, I do.

Well, okay, let's, let's look at it. Let's look at it. Probably a better team. Okay, let's look at it like this. Go ahead. That division right now, you talk about the Rams and the 49ers and the Seahawks and the Seahawks. Yeah. They lost, right? Yeah. They are projected to be the better teams. Yes. So they still they see, they haven't seen Seattle. No, you, I agree. What are we saying? We are in, when you talk about that race in that division, there's a good chance that, okay, say if, if, if Donald gets healthy, they could potentially be the third team in that division. Yeah, it's possible. They could potentially be because they lost that, that game that they were supposed to get. But they lost to a good team. This would be the equivalent of the Rams losing to the Cardinals. Like the commanders, and I think it, I get, I get your point. The commander, in my opinion, the commanders of the worst team in the, well, I'm just going to point out the, because you're, you're comparing the loss to the Niners to the commanders. The Niners are good. Uh-huh. This, I wouldn't be sitting here today saying the Eagles have a must win if they're playing

the Cowboys on Sunday. No. This is, this is the worst team in our division. So if the Rams played the Cardinals and lost, that would be a, it's bad for them. Are you, are you going to be finished now? No, yeah. I'm just trying to get on the same page. I know what you're saying, but you're talking about a team, a division of four that three teams are going to be vying for that number one spot, right? Yes. When you talk about our team, you got two. You got to, you got us. Right. And you had the Cowboys and maybe, maybe the Giants will be a formidable opponent. I agree. If we're being logical because you want to be logical with us, right? The Rams, Seahawks and Niners probably all split with each other. Yeah, they're going to beat each other up. But the Eagles should have split, but the commanders, they shouldn't, but to your point, we go say, say, say, this is an, and I don't think this is going to happen. We drop one to the commanders, right? We sweep the Giants and we split with the Cowboys, you know, and we get the, we get the commanders on their last one, the Commodores. We're still in a good spot. What depends on what the Dallas Cowboys do, I understand that, but you're still in a good

spot. That's why I say it's not a, it's not a must win because you have a better chance of being in contention in your division than the teams out West in my opinion because they're going to beat each other up. Yeah. I just, it's going to be some cannibalism going on in that West out there, man. I'll, I'll just make it a bit this way because we keep using the Rams from last night as a comparison. There's, I didn't, I'd be shocked if the Rams don't make the playoffs. The last night's lost doesn't make me think they're going to miss the playoffs. They could. They could, but I'd be shocked if they did. The Eagles, this is a game to make the playoffs. It's one of those you, you just, you count it. No, you, to your point, Joe, you, you have to, it would be, it would be detrimental to your mission. Yes. To lose this guy, but it's not a must win. Well, I, I see it as one. Where do you come down? Two, one, five, five, nine, two, ninety, four, ninety, four, you know what, we haven't, we haven't had talked to our guy Orlando and Wilmington in a while. He's a, he's a commander's fan. Am I correct on that? Is that our guy Orlando Orlando? What's up? Oh, man, nice to hear from you.

And thanks for having me on, man. I appreciate you. And I'm a number one family, but it's not, we appreciate you. I'm a commander. And I'm going to have more, listen, we're stacked this year, but we're stacked. I had to call you today, man. Thanks for having me. I'm going to take over the, what did it, they take hard, hard work with the hard work. I'm going to take over the hard rock again. Did you say the commanders are stacked? Fact of what? You don't even have an offensive line. Orlando, we talked about it. I'm not. Okay, right there, we're, in ain't nobody's never no question, my boat. Come and play the whole year in the 2024. I'll be ready, my, all we got to do is hold up. Get my main build cosy. It's covered in running lanes. Build cosy. Build cosy plays. Build, build cross-beam merit or whatever's name is, cross-key merit. Running back, running back. Not that, not the actor, not that guy. Okay, stack, yeah. That's not the perfect one. I'm putting pops. Stop. Stop it. And the government lifted, we got three number one, why receivers on the roster, they started doing it. Are you all taking over the hard rock?

No, that's, I asked you. Who's the third one? I was taking over the hard rock. I'm taking over the hard rock. I'm taking over the hard rock. What are you talking about? We've got, I've been trying to tell my friends we coming, we here, baby. We're here. No, see, but are you all taking over the hard rock, like you did last time? You all taking over the hard rock? Oh man, listen, last time we give you a boy. Yes, I'm all about that. Okay, let's talk or defense man. Is that easy man? Hey, that's the question. Does anyone hear your nonsense? Well, what? Did we, we've got. Okay, I'm listening to a lot of stuff. I'm listening to my phone. I'm listening to my phone. My office is a creator. Nobody knows what he got, but I know, but what he got? We, what he got? No, what is David Blout? Talk to us. What do you got? I need, I'm gonna see, I'm gonna see the BBB in the back. The BBB in the back. I'm going to see the BBB in the back. I want to see the defense at back here. Hold on. Wait a minute. How are you? You jumping out, lower the plays, Darryl. You start drinking already. No, it's a good point. How is our secondary going to handle those three number one wide receivers? Who's the third one? So I'm a chlorine. It's digs with the Patriots kicked out of the building last year.

And then Antonio Williams, that each time at the rookie third round pick. I see two on Alicia, man. You have a two in part. And then what's the start of job? Yeah, stuff. You're radio on too. You were the worst. And Orlando, we love you. But this is a must win for the Eagles because your commander is a brand new. A brand new circle. That's how he really didn't want to talk about you. You don't think it's a must win over that guy's team. The way he just described that team. Would Bill Cosby play and run back or whatever's name was? Let me say Bill Cosby. I was perplexed. I saw you were about to go on a tangent. I probably wouldn't have been here. I would have been here. Just let that go. No, no, no, no, no, no. Today's not the day for that. Are we, um, could we, could we, he's dropped on the enemies here? Let's see what they're talking about. All right, where are we starting today? Are we going down the DC? Yeah, it's going to be. All right, let's, uh, is this be Mitch's ghost? Yeah, we got to talk to him about this. Let's, let's hear it. I really think they're going to win. I think they go to Philly and win. I said it. The, I crease like I'm told. Philly people is how I feel. I think based on vibes. I think, I like the spot a lot. I think Philly is a team that gets better over the course of the year. Okay. I think Jalen Hertz.

The noise. I think it's going to be a lot better. I think it's going to be a lot better. I think Philly is a team that gets better over the course of the year. Okay. I think Jalen Hertz. The noise. There. He seems relatively impervious to the noise. But I think losing AJ Brown is a really big deal. And it seems like everybody's kind of like, oh, you know, the Montets Smith this and, um, Mikaille lemon that. And I just, I think Washington's defense now assuming health will get our first injury report tomorrow, which is going to be a big deal. That's going to be a big telltale sign, specifically with the edge rushers away in chase on. I just really like the spot. I think this team, this organization, Jaden Daniels, you know how mad Jaden is about last year. And dude, I don't think he's paid any attention to all this LSU. Do you get that sense that he is mad? Okay. That dude is a. I don't give a shit. Yeah. Period. It's in his. I'm talking about it. And I think he lost last season.

He knows like he doesn't pay attention to the stuff. When he knows the stuff's out there. He's a, he's aware that it exists. And the absolute best way to remind the NFL who he is is to go to Philly. That's Fox game of the week, right? Like just going to be on across the country. Oh, yeah. Philly's a super bowl favorite. Right? I bet Philly's. Turn it up there. Super bowl. I don't like that. I think this team, Drew Dan Quinn's point will be frosting at the mouth from Sunday at 415. This is a joke quite frankly. So, is that it? Well, how about him name dropping I crease like I told I crease I told I come out. So he told like he knows you know what's funny about that. And when I hear him talk is that he he twisted himself in a whole pretzel trying to convince himself that that Jane Danes is stoked about this game. You know what Jane Danes is more stoked about the anything. That's your number. Be me to a joke.

Be me to it. And we all know that. You know why we know that because it was such a big story that it was it was placid all over the media that how him and his mother had a whole fit because he thought his jersey was going to be retired and and Lane Kiffin came out and said something up to the effect that we promised his kid this number when we signed it. And to add insult to injury everybody named Mama came out to practice one week with five jerseys on to show you how much at LSU to show you how much we don't care about what you talking about. So you're going to sit here and tell me that this same cat that had a tizzy fit about a jersey in college is focused and ready to play against. I think he's probably focused on. No, I don't believe that. I mean, the jail in the day. Jaden knows not focused on the game. I don't believe that. Yeah, I mean, I think he has the question is is he great or good or decent? I don't believe that. Well, yeah, I mean, I. There's three number one water seevers. Well, that's ridiculous. I don't know what's what. Or landows take on three number one.

I mean, nobody has three number one water seeers little on the commanders. They just acquired their number two off the street two weeks ago. And this is some people tell me this is not a must win game, including you dog list. A joke. All right. Can we, can we, uh, ease drop on another enemy? What were they saying up in New England yesterday up in Boston after a tough night and air debut for AJ Brown and Drake, let's let's do that. Max in the seat, part, go ahead, Max. Hey, so number one, I think Drake may sucks and unless he turns it around, we need a new quarterback, but number two, I'm going to let you go. Are you guys doing that? No, no, no, not yet. Of course not. Not yet. Yeah, I mean, it's on. It could be on the table. When into the season, they have to make a decision. They have to make a decision. Yeah. They have to make a decision on whether you pay may at the end of the season or not. This decision, they're paying a Michael Felger. If Jim Murray, if last night's game, if, if last night's game continues for this quarterback, this season, if I was Robert Kraft and I look at Drake, man, I say, I need to give him 70 million. I would say over my dead body.

I'm not doing that. If he has a suck season like last night and he's continuing to make horrible decisions and all of a sudden you look at this kid and say, oh boy, I have to now pay him 70 million per. Yes. You're so. No, so it's going to be to it in Miami. Great. I'm paying him. He's the guy. I've made it up right now. And I'll care if he has a bad year. Then he has a bad year. He'll have a good one next year. Oh, I'll come in with buckets full of Kraftwater. Each show. What does that mean? Kraftwater. I will carry so much water for that. The organization, the ownership next year, I'll make sure it's a practice fiscal responsibility. If he has a horrible season, it looks like last night through this whole year, we're going to turn around and now that franchise is supposed to give him 70 million. No shot. I absolutely love that one game after the guy was the second MVP last year. First game bad. Yeah, we might need a new quarterback. I appreciate that level. I mean, just kind of let you know what it kind of flies in the face of when people say nobody talks about. I was just quarter back.

Thought that same exact thing. Yeah, because dude, but it just his last game before the game that he just played in was the Super Bowl. Now, granted. He didn't play. Thank you. He didn't play well, but he was in the, but he was in the Super Bowl. So when you, when people start talking about, oh, clickbait hyperbolic, they are just as hyperbolic up there and everywhere. Yeah. It's for all the idiots who say good, well, hold on here. They're not doing that. So he talking about the quarterback. That's why it's because you're not listening. Well, all the time. So here's what happens. All this on here's what happens everywhere. He needs to be. They don't want to play that. Third standard approving here for Drake May. There you have it. So the action is based on play. Drake may play crap in this first game. So one of the hosts in the show is saying, I don't know if I want to pay him. You know what? I think it's probably a little overreaction, but I'm not him. I'm not a patriot, and I'm not living there. But the bottom one is that happens everywhere. Well, you know what? They've done a lot of winning up in Boston. So they don't, I think they've had it enough so that they don't lose sight of the little

things. Like, you know, like we've gotten so deluded. And I think our entire like brain chemistry has changed by the fact that we won and so I mean, like what's pretty like unconventional way? And just everybody forgot football essentially. Well, Jalen Broker Brains. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, really did. Well, I mean, let's be real. The Eagles have won two suit bowls and bins of three with not with quarterbacks that have not been considered the best in the league. Yeah. Right? Like there's not been a Brady or a Manning or Rogers here. It's been Nick Foles and Jalen twice and they're great. It's always about how it's always about how they play. Right. Right. So I do think our brains are broken on the quarterback meter, but that was funny. Listen, all right. We have one more. This is an interesting one because there's an expectation that this coach is going to turn around this team. I'm not quite as sure as everyone else is going to work out the way people think. Look, we hear John Harbock a couple days ago up in New York. You sounds like it's a little rocky waters with him in the media up in New York. Let's hear this. Can you, I mean, I just say this, I just say this right now. We've stopped all these questions because I'm not going to tell you who's playing in the

game. I'm not going to tell you who's starting. I'm not going to tell you what package we have in. I'm not going to tell you what plays we're running. I'm not going to tell you any of that, OK? So we can make it great and have a great press conference or we can make it uncomfortable. But I'm not going to tell you because when you know the Cowboys know or every other team we play knows. And that's not the competitive interest of our football teams. That makes sense. So I think you can respect. What would you make of that? Zero tolerance for the media, but you're in New York. They're not going to stop coming out. And if you show that you know, you have a little bit of weakness, they're probably going to try to prod you a little bit more because they pride themselves on getting on your skin. Yeah. Coach better pull that back. More win. Yeah. If he does, they're going to go out. Yeah, we'll see. To me, the East is very clear. It's the Eagles in the Cowboys. I think the giants in the commanders are not as close as people think. Better, sure. But maybe not as close as people think that. Just want to monitor there. We'll see if John Harbor actually turns that team around as quick as people think he will. Let's go to Buddy, who is in Akron here.

Once I get him up here, Buddy, what's up, pal? Hey, happy football Friday, you joke, huh? Happy football Friday, Buddy. How are you? I'm great. I just wanted to call in and tell you why I think it's a four-month win weekend. And I have a thought on 9-11 and like to just... Sure. Buddy, let's start with your thought on the must win. You're on the right side of this. What are you feeling? So I feel like the Philadelphia fans, all of us, had been beating each other up since last football season ended. And we're like one of those training camp football teams that's ready to beat up on something else. And we got to win the Phillies games and we got to win this Eagles game so we could just really game-oomat on this fans and just kick some asses. Well, it's about time. And Buddy, I think you're right. It's been a weird off season. We've fought about a lot of things, especially the AJ thing. I mean, Hugh was on the wrong side of that, we know.

So, and now we got to come together and get a win and celebrate on Monday. I agree. It's time. We need it. We do. I mean, I know Kyle's pumped up. He's ready to tear something apart over there. I know Hugh. He wants to hit somebody. No. No, he does. No. I want to hit somebody, Buddy. I want to hit somebody. I'm not going to do that though. Buddy, you have a memory or thought you want to share about 9-11? 9-11 thought is, you know, I live in a small town. We got a volunteer fire company and I wanted to say thank you to them and I want to say thank you to the effort of police. And especially thank you to my daughter, second grade teacher Mrs. Wully who's got, you know, responsibilities to teach our children, you know, about the importance of the history like today and can't thank anybody enough with that. Well, Buddy, well said. Obviously, you know, those first responders and volunteers, it's something that it comes up every time around this year. You can really truly remember and appreciate those people.

Rick in Eastern is up on WIP. Rick, good afternoon. And now we're talking about brain chemistry and football. I love it. We are. Rick, how are you? I'm doing great guys. You know, I just wanted to ask you something, Joe, you're an intelligent host in a very knowledgeable city, supposedly, for football. Define must win. What does that mean? Must win. Well, okay. So I think there's different definitions at different times of the year. I mean, I can't yours, Buddy. Okay. Well, my definition is I think if they, if they lost the game, which I think they will win, but if they lost the game, I think it appreciably changes their chances to achieve what we want, which is the postseason and the division and a high seed. It's Rick. I have been a little lower on them than most people this off season. So I'm in the 10 win range. And if they drop a game that they clearly should win, that I think is one of the 10 or 11 wins they'll get, then the math to get to the number we need, it's just hard for me to find. And they'll have to win a game that I don't expect them to win.

So must. Must start. Yeah. Got that. I mean, they need, I think they need the game to get to the win total. They need to get to. I understand. Now, let's not forget reality, which is what Hughes is trying to share with you. The 2007 giants, the 2011 giants, the 2020 Buccaneers and the 2021 Rams all lost their first game of the year and won a Super Bowl. What I think people should start looking at is look at the first two games this year already. You know exactly what I'm going with this. The Rams have a 38 year old quarterback with a 48 year old back that just lost. And Seattle, your producers, you know, trying to give me that Seattle defense is going to overcome having a backup quarterback starting the next four or five weeks. You're not far, Donald's going to be out. Like they're the 85 banners.

Those first two games were in the Eagles favor before we even played a game. This is called the NFL and you, you know this. It means not for long if you anticipate what you think is going to happen. Let it play out. I don't think it's a must win because teams have won championships losing their first game of the year. They'll figure it out. They're going to get out of the starting gate slow because they always do. These guys haven't even played yet together. You know what's going to happen in the first half. Yeah, well, they have they've been undefeated the first week. They always win. They win. They win. They win. But the eye test is just not going to be there because they're going to take some time to figure it out. And we better hope the offensive line is not getting too old and not banged up. That's going to be the case guys. It is. It's a, you bring the points and I, and now if you had brought up the two giant teams to the box, the Rams, I might have been a win for Douglas. He didn't bring those up.

I mean, he didn't give me that. Well, you know, the Eagles started was the season. Oh, and two. The year I was gone went to Jacksonville and they went, they ended up going to the playoffs. They went, they went deep into playoff. They did. Yeah, but they were, you know, a more of a favorite entry in that season than they are this year. I mean, I'm not saying you wait. Yeah, that's a good. They did. They got rid of an aging defensive end. Yeah, he was, he was washing. Yeah, well, I mean, kind of was why. I mean, I was like, five, nine, two, and I need four, ninety four. I actually was. It's near. At least we're all being honest. Yeah, it's good. Rick brings up a fair point. That all being said, I still think they have to win this football game on Sunday. I just, they do, and you know what? They also need it for our vibes. You know, Rick's talking about the season, the team. I get all that and outliers and he's not wrong. How about us, Rick? How about our, how about my blood pressure on Sunday and Monday? And I got to have excuse maker Douglas here next week if things don't go right. I need the win on Sunday. All right, two one five, five, nine, two, ninety four, nine, four. Latest on the injury front for Sunday. A couple of things for Vic Fangio. I'm Grenard and a funny answer regarding their history gets mobile quarterbacks.

That's all coming up. It's the midday show on sports radio, 94 WIP. Great montage. Are you ready here? I am ready, Joe. I'm ready. I'm excited. I am excited, though. I am too. I'm excited. I'm excited to see what this office is going to look like. I want to see how quickly the quarterback excels in this new row. I want to see how creative everybody talk about, you know, man, you being an evil genius. I want to see what that looked like. Because when you talk about last night with Shanahan did the full back being an instrumental part, even though he didn't touch the ball, but in the blocking scheme and the run game, he was a hammer. Well, I mean, Shanahan's great, right? And he does this. He's been doing it for years. And we got a guy in Manion. We hope could be, you know, in the ilk of one of the better coordinators in the NFL. We'll see. And here's what I'm excited for. I'm excited for the defense, you know, I know what I start to happen. Same for Kyle. Yeah. Well, you know, they had a rocky start to the season. Sure they did. Well, I mean, between the head coach getting in the accident and then the owner being a dummy.

Yeah, that's how you're trying to get some strain in the trailer part. Yeah, not good. I'm mostly excited for the defense on day. I mean, the offense, I hope, and we'll see. I, you know, I think we all realize it's going to be some growing pains, but I, the defense could be great. It really could be a great defense. And they have an opportunity this weekend to face a bad offensive line. And when I think about Ojomo and Carter and Davis and Hunt against a bad, a bad offensive line, I mean, they should dominate the game. You know what I want to see? I don't know what the offense is going to look like, but I want to see rhythm because it feels like it and follow me a little bit because it feels like the last couple years. It feels like when they got up to the line, it was almost like they were still trying to figure out what they wanted to do. Especially last year. Yeah. Like, you know, I'm talking about Joe, it's like they, they were trying to figure out at the line, okay, what exactly do we want to do? I want to see, you know, getting in and out of the huddle. I'm going to see them call the play and just, just implement this offense and change the, the flow, the ebb and flow of the game because that's what the 49ers did last night.

They, they, they, they spit up the pace. They slowed the game down when they wanted to and they were able to do stuff at will when they wanted to especially in that second. And they got Brock, Perty and rhythm. I mean, there was a couple of drives where felt like the ball didn't touch the ground. I mean, it was just, it was, it was, he was, he was on a heater. Yeah, he was awesome. He was the best player probably in the field last night. Two one five five nine two ninety four ninety four. Before we go back to the phone, we had a couple things from Vic Fangio spoke yesterday. First about Jonathan Grenard. Now, yesterday he was limited in practice. We'll find out what he is on this Friday. Here is Fangio on the Eagles 100 million dollar edge guy and is he close to playing? Hey, Jonathan Grenard, are you, do, do they really ready to go and how, how, how often are you? It's day by day, you know, you had practice a whole lot yet. So we'll be careful with that. How do you work yesterday? Okay. It okay. We have a player like that who has a body of work in the league, but you haven't seen in play a ton of practice. How do you balance those things when you're caught with a, a plan for him? Yeah, I mean, there's a minimal amount of practice.

Real practice that you have to go through, especially for a guy coming off an injury, you know, psyched the guy and Donald then with the Rams, you know, he's just coming off restiness, no injury and wasn't ready this week. So we'll see. I mean, that last answer there makes me wonder if he's even active on Sunday. I don't know about that, Hugh. He said, there's a, there's a baseline of practice you have to have and then he compared it to Aaron Donald to of course, did not suit up last night for the Rams. You think grenades playing Sunday? Oh, yes. Hmm. I think if he, if he's a, if he can play, but that's not how fans you're framed. Well, as you have to practice, no, I get that. I get that, but I think he'll have a, he'll have some snaps. Like you got, listen, I don't understand coach, Fange Owen and he's old school and everything like that. Yeah, that man, a hundred million dollars. Wait, they gave up 57 and he. And it was a, that was a heel. I died on the end. I'm a down. I don't know how you dying on hills.

No, you hold on. No, I feel like if he can give me a couple snaps, I need though. But do you think Vic is going to play? I know defensive courtier Douglas would put her in art out there. Do you think defensive courtier fans? I'm there. Huh? If he's limited again in practice today, you know, but you know, into your point, Joe, if you're not practicing on wins in Thursday, if you're not, if you're limited, you're probably not. Fange has big on that on being, I mean, on being like game ready. Yeah. He's being on, knowing your assignments. Now Jalen Carter, a little bit of a different animal. And I know we, we saved Fange. It doesn't really care that much about the, the money thing, but like I think he knows enough about Jalen Carter's track record player. And he's had him. He's had him here. But I think he just said a few days ago, like, you know, he is conditioning still. Could he use a little bit of work? Like he's still has to, like, got to get a little more up to speed there. So like that, he thinks about that stuff a lot. So he doesn't think that Grinards ready to play. He's going to look at that as somebody just taking up snaps from somebody who is ready to play. I agree. I'll be watching that during the pregame show Sunday when the inactive's come out to see if Grinard is playing our one more from Fange.

You know, here because Fange, you know, obviously going to get Jalen Daniels, one of the more mobile quarterback Santa fell. Let's see what he said about facing a quarterback like this. As you saw, Scott, how do you think you guys handled mobile quarterbacks last year? You know, I don't know. You know, you might overall do a good job, but it's those ones where you don't that, and they make a big play out of it, you know, stand out. So I don't know how we would rate on that. Maybe PFFs have some phony stat you can look up. But yeah, it's a problem when you play scrambling quarterback and Daniels, obviously, is excellent at that. I love how he just took a shot at PFF. Yeah, he was one of those fakes that's there. Fange was the best. He just says whatever is on his mind. He had a couple of injury things to note here for the commanders and then a big one in the NFL. So commanders have cleared a Dathay O'way. Their edge rush.

They gave a lot of money to the sausages and jacory, crosskey merit. Those who are collar with some. He said, he said, well, he goes by bill, crosskey, crosskey, not bill, not be a cause, not cots, be no. And and chase on their edge rush. We're all been clear for the game for the Eagles on Sunday. So they're those guys you're playing a guy that's not playing for a while. Patriots here, placing wide receiver, AJ Brown on injured reserve due to his high ankle sprain, sidelineing in him for a minimum of four games. Oh, wow. Yep. That's crazy. I mean, well, he's still got a chance. You know, you know, it's funny when you initially say, I are to me. I are meant back in my day. You were done. Yeah, it changed. You can come back. So yeah, he just getting getting right at high ankle sprain, man. I'm telling you, I tried to play through one. It's a beast. Well, and he's saying minimum of four games. So I, you guys, I mean, because it's a pain that they try to tape it up, but it don't, man, that high ankle sprain going away. It's a nightmare and it continues for AJ's first season there. How am I supposed to heat watch the guy if he's not playing on that?

That's true. That sucks. So that's that's that's a monkey wrench. He had on his rehab. No, no. Now, Kyle's right. This is a monkey wrench into our whole plans here for the next few weeks. I hate the rehab. Can I get a refund on my NFL Sunday ticket? I get a few weeks off that price or they took it all in my account. Yeah, it's gone. All right, 215, 592, 9494 coming up. Marrow moments, your phone calls a football Friday. It's a must win. It gets the commanders on sports radio, 94 WIP, a new football season brings some big questions who makes the playoffs? Who wins their division? Who takes home the title on Calstri? America's number one prediction market platform that lets you trade those predictions in a live market. I'm looking at a division winner. He was the original, the original miracle at the MetaLands, November 19, 1978, less than 30 seconds to go in the game. Giants have no time outs. And the Eagles fought cause the fumble. Herman Edwards brings it back. I love the, I don't believe it. I don't believe it. It is an unbelievable moment. It's just a crazy moment with way to win a game. It's one of many miracles of the MetaLands for the full off he goes, we actually do we have a second Marrow moment today? Do we have Marrow moment number six? We get a double dose. We get a double dose. Let's let's hear Marrow moment number six as we count down to the top 50 Marrow moments ever. And this all leads, of course, to Marrow live on Tuesday at the Scottish right auditorium in college. Well, let's get to number six. The 1980 NFC championship game Hugh Douglas, Sherworski hands it over on Montgomery. He takes off and the Eagles were on their way to their first Super Bowl appearance.

I just pulled out the box score of the game. Obviously it was here. It was against the Cowboys. Two, they ran them out of the building. Forty rushes. That's awesome for 260. That's awesome. For 260 yards on the ground. That's an ass kicking. Yes. And I love those kind. And I love the crowd noise there at the vet. 263 yards on the ground. What a day. The Eagles clinched their first Super Bowl appearance. That means starting tomorrow, we're into the top five Marrow moments of all time. We get to have one during the pregame show on Sunday. I guess that'd be number four. We'll count them down. What's going to be crazy? That's what's going to be. All right. So late game too. Oh, the crowd's going to be wild on Sunday. All right. So guys, now that we're into the top five, do we have any guesses on what I don't know? I mean, I just know I know what we've heard. I know what we've talked about every day. Well, we have two final calls of two Super Bowl. Yes. Okay. Do we have any other calls from those particular games that are not the final calls? Well, the fully special about the brain and grandpa. We got the brain and gravestrips. I don't know. We didn't have it. You know, we did. I don't think so. Okay.

Well, then then maybe that's it. Maybe that's it. We missed two every weekend because right. So, you know, I doubt it though. Okay. I think you're right. It's in big six. My instinct is the five calls are probably from the two Super Bowl wins. And maybe the Patrick Robinson did was the dagger in there. Or the Cupertogene picks six. That's what I mean. There's other plays in the game. There's a lot of them. I mean, if it was me, I didn't make this list. I just we just react in every day. The Cupertogene picks six is just a way bigger play than the dagger. Now the calls are calls and some calls could be great even without the huge as play. Here if you had to pick one to be in to be in the top five, the dagger or the Cupertogene picks six. It's a coupe. I like coupe. And that was the play that really started to make the game go one way, right? Like that one, when he returned that, it was like holy crap. They're going to win the Super Bowl. Yeah. The dagger was cosmetic. And it got jail in the MVP. Yeah. And he argues that it's a big deal. I mean, the MV is a big deal. Super Bowl. It wasn't that big of a play in the game. I mean, it was a big deal in the Super Bowl.

The C-Ocs just let their Super Bowl MVP go. I mean, that's immediately out of C-Ocs. We covered our MVP's. Do we? Yes. We let our first Super Bowl MVP go in a year. And don't ever bring them up again because the Seattle C-Ocs didn't say he's a stellar player. But he just got there. So he wasn't part of the Super Bowl. Oh, yeah. I got bad news for you about Jeffrey Laurie, by the way. He was a Patriot's fan. He did not anymore. No, no, he just shut up. He did. He did. No, I think definitely not. He's been here for 30 years. There was rumors about him wanting to purchase the Boston Celtics. He said maybe not. There were. Okay, if you want to book a, he want to book a, he want to buy a selfie. What do you know? He tried to buy the Patriots first and Kraft got them and then he came got the Eagles, which is, I mean, that's one of the best things that happened to Eagles, right? It can be real about it. Yeah. It's just been real. We're at all worked out. He's keeping it a big deal. It all worked out. I'm going to get a 90 for a, let's go to Chris and overbook. Who wants to talk about the must win game? We have Sunday Chris. Hey, you made Joe. How'd it go? Hey Chris, what's up? Oh, everything's good. Joe, man, I actually agree with you, man.

It's about time, Chris. It's about time. It's about time. I've been waiting. I think we ever see that day color. Never. They tell here it's a must win. Oh, we need this one. Must win game. Must win game. First off, division game. Number one. Gotta take care of that. Number two out of the first five games to me. It's very important to win at least three of those five games. What you don't want to do in NFL is go two and three. You don't want to put yourself in a predicament like that. So to win three out of those first five games is very crucial in NFL. And for us to have to go against Jane and Daniels, first off to me, Jane Daniels is a paper quarterback. Paper soft. He played flag football in high school. He played real football, but I say he was more of a flag football. He's not a real quarterback. He's soft. We got to put him in the ground this off twice. And we got to take care of business in that direction. I'm James Daniels to me.

He's not a quarterback that you will want to be in a huddle with at the end of the game. He's not that type of warrior. When they talk about the United States and the marinos and the Montana's, when you talk to those players that were around in their huddles, Jane and her is definitely, definitely. Jane and hers is better. If you're going down to a drive to win the game, you want to feel like you want to be somebody behind that. That's a warrior. That's going to take that like a commander. Jane and Daniels is very far from that. So we got to take care of business. When you talk about United, Montana, Marino, all those players, they have a command of the pocket and command of the offense, command in the huddle. Jane and her is definitely both in that category. Well, I, listen, we're having a good day, you and I Chris. So we're going to agree this a must win. We are having a great day. We're going to agree to must win. And I agree with you that obviously Daniels at this point of his career

is not in the same category as Joe Montana or Johnny United's right. He's a pretty decent quarter. But why Chris Goodfong? I think it's interesting because he's coming off a bad year, right? Daniels was not very good last year. He got hurt. He flashed the year before that more than flashed. I mean, guys, it's probably was the nice. It was probably the best rookie quarterback season. Maybe since since the Marino. I mean, they got he almost went to the Super Bowl. He got to the NFC championship game. Also, again, Chris and I Chris and I, well, you got the title game. Chris and I are in a good spot today. Just want to point out he mentioned. He was more of a flag football player and I was going to know what the hell that means. I did find J. Daniels high school stats, like regular, regular high school football. He scored 211 touchdowns in high school. 211 touchdowns. No, Chris isn't exactly known for using logic with his phone calls. So we'll be easy on today. I think you can say that Daniels isn't great. And that's fine. But like he obviously has had a good football career, guys. He got even the Heisman Trophy. Yeah. He's a football player.

211 touchdowns. Yeah. There are some leadership qualities in there somewhere. Something. Now, the mom thing is weird and he's been trying to crack that coach for a while. No response from his mom. Take coach. His mom. No. You're not getting one. No. She's going to be here on Sunday. What's the F and Diggs is, you know, never mind. Are you going to, what if she walks up just quickly? What if, what if, what if Jaden's mom walks past our tent on Sunday for the pregame show? I'm going to say, hey, big head. You know, that's the, that's the go to when you slide somebody's down. But maybe it's not if she didn't respond. Did you thought of that? No. I'm going to lose all training. I'll be like, yo, no, that probably ain't good. Yo, I don't think that's how you talk. Chris Brown did that. He in a song. He got a song. Please don't model yourself. No, no, no, no, just saying the song. Not, not, not, not, not, not, no, no, but the song. Yeah. Yeah. Those are the, just be and Chris Brown. In a 40 minute span, both of those references. It was once your fault. Thank you. Let's go to Walter and Eastern. What's up, Walter? Hey there. How are you? Good Walter. What's up? So a couple of things real quick.

Must win game. I don't think must win. I think that's hyperbole. I'm with you. I think you could lose this game and still win the Super Bowl. Two, we talk a lot about the offense and I get it. It's going to take a little bit of time and challenge all in, but he still has to learn the offense and it's radically different than what he's used to. But we don't talk enough about the defense until the most recent segment. This defense is likely to be the number one defense in the league. Right? It's deep and it's covered at all levels. I think the game this Sunday, the Eagles may not score 21 points, but I do believe that the four skins are not the corner of the course. Any points or very few. I still can't do that. Can we call them the commanders, but Walter, you and I see it similarly. The defense is the exciting part of this team. Walter, I can't wait to watch Jalik's son go sack Jaden Daniels on Sunday. That's what I'm excited for.

Yeah, it'll be a wonderful thing and it probably will happen multiple times. Well, I certainly could with the way their offensive line is. Walter, we appreciate the phone call speaking a sack. Did you see that? That that that. Yeah, Roger's interviewed that he did. I you were just waiting to bring this up. It was perfect. That's perfect. I thought you were speaking of sack after what he called what he called the. No, but did you see what Aaron Rodgers was talking about his wife? Yes, I saw. When he was a former fiance. He said what a straight face is front air. Did you see the response to the people that were interviewing the faces they made? So if you haven't seen it, Rodgers was talking about his former fiance. No, he he he talked about a whole bunch. Right, but the clear time at the party. It's time to start that stuck out to me. She said, but what did she say? You are taking it. She said after they got engaged. He got in get he got a ring. Yeah, yeah. And he said like after she got the ring, right? She said she was going to marry and two days later, she said, hold up.

I got to go smash this dude. I was waiting to see how you framed this one. I was waiting to see the word she used there. No. Joe. If you're fiance told you. I threw the bottle ring. Hey, wait a minute. I love you. I want to marry you. But I'm going to go ahead and take take old boy through there. Yeah, I'm out. Before we get it. See you. Yeah, that's a man. Like you got to ask, what did you do wrong? Because if you bring in that. I'm just saying. If you're if if you buy your wife or if you buy your fiance a ring. And the first thing that she thinks about is smashing somebody else before she marry you that you ain't that home boy. Well, so she's not the person you should marry. That's what I'm saying. But if she if she say, yeah, I'm married, but I'm going to see what this like before. Because basically what she's saying is, I'm going to have to lay with you for the rest of my life, which I ain't got a problem with because you got bread. You you you you super cheesy.

But at the same time, let me go ahead and see what this is like. So I at least have a template to know what you know what I mean. I played with guys. That is crazy. I want to be on TV with my. And he told everybody like he was I heard. Yeah, I heard he was being victimized. Is anyone else ready for a ride? Just go home. Yeah, yeah. I think yeah. I just somebody like, would you be surprised? At some point doing a football season. Somebody punches them in the face on the field. Like when they walk out the field and somebody just haul off and punch them in the face. I'd be kind of surprised. Yeah, that feels like a weird way. I feel like it's going to happen. I feel like he came back and punched a fan in the face. I feel like I feel like I feel like I feel like his a disaster. I feel like I'm right. I just got about to get punched in the face. Well, maybe you would that old cow she probably you know what they have markets on every other day. Check it out. Check it out. Check it out. Check it out. Maybe you know what I'm like sprinkle something. You know what? That's something I could bet. Like that.

Because he just he didn't he's gotten reckless. Yeah, he talked bad about the world wide leader. He talked bad about two is teammate called one I'm done. Call one I'm done. Yeah, I go. You know what? You know what? Maybe I'll ask cows you if they could create a market for us. We're going to put that on the shame. The flow of my cow. That'd be a fun market. All right. If you were his teammate, would you punch them in the face? Ooh. You have a history. Don't forget. Hey listen. I don't forget your. I said. Like this is my partner. Here. Don't forget. This is my partner. He told my whole you guys. You know you guys. Don't forget. You screwed up the test. No, you forget. You know you're a rap to time. All right. That's um, well, I'm just being honest. All right. Coming up. We got guests to take shoes. Our huge favorite segment of the week is coming up. I forgot my thing already. All right. And one of our own here at WIP is becoming a food influencer or whatever the health is working. Yeah. We'll let you hear some of this as we get ready for the Eagles and the commanders in a must-win.

This is perfect music. It is the midday show. Hugh Douglas, Joe Gilliam. It's all going to a nice little tag. Well, maybe we are. We're going somewhere. So we'll get to get to take your phone calls here. And of course, you people coming up for the end of the show. But, you know, week one's about a lot of things. It's about the game. It's about the excitement, the tailgate. If you're going to the game on Sunday, Hugh, we found out that the Eagles, the link, they're rolling out some new foods this year, right? Some new stuff you could buy, you know, different kind of cuisine or food or snacks. You mean like at the baseball games, kind of like things like the burger, burger donut burger thingies? Yes. So again, yeah, look, I'm sure there's a bunch of chickies of pea stands and cheese steaks and burgers and all that stuff in fries. But they're also rolling out some different items. And, you know, every year when this happens, you typically, you know, maybe a writer or someone will go out and kind of taste the new food and tell you about it. But, you know, one of our own here where's many hats, you know, he's a takesman,

he's a reporter, he's everything. And he's also apparently a food influencer career, Elliott True Parks, tasting what is this, the new taco? It's going to be at the link. You've just seen the taco this season. Yeah, here's Elliott Tasons of Tacos. Stop everybody here at the Jefferson Health Training Complex. Week one is Sunday. The Eagles have a whole new menu of food items. So we're going to try them out, training camps over. I'm going to hand out some grades on these foods. So let's get into it. So first up, we got a little taco here. So apparently it's an 18 inch taco, which they sell. It's a lot of inches. This one, not as much. So let's give it a go. See how it is. Looks like we got some maybe some guacamole on here. Got the green shell. All right. Okay. I like it. I like it. Definitely has like a little peppery feel to it. I don't normally like spicy foods. Only takes. I like this. You definitely have to split it with people. 18 inches to yourself would be a lot. I'm going to go eight and a half ESP.

We shouldn't eat that for a drop. 18 inches to yourself would be a lot. It's a lot of inches. Wait a minute. How you get this a lot of inches? Did he say that? It's a lot of inches. 18 inches to yourself would be a lot. So if you want to see the full video, it's up on our social pages. He also tries a cool aid wing chicken wing, which he seemed to like a lot. I watched the whole form in a video. It is. I'm a good school. It is a lot of inches. You're against school. Yeah. What does that mean? I mean, it's not, you know, I don't know. The whole stereotype. I hadn't considered the cool aid chicken wing. No, no, no, no, no. It's great. It's like that like dog. It's nah. That's too much. That's a bridge to four. Actually, it's got about radius. The cool aid chicken wing. Okay, hold on. Before we get into all that, I refuse. Just putting that aside, do you, I like the taste of cool.

I haven't had it a while, but I like cool aid when I was a kid. Did you? I liked it. You know what? Because I ain't no no better. I mean, we made cool aid with kid. I don't know about that a lot. It's sugar. It's just sugar water. It was basically, you know what? You know what I'm talking about? Dog. Like when you drink it, you'd be like, he's so sweet. Yeah, when you're a kid, that's tolerable. No, no, no. And now we put in cool aid on chicken wings. Stop it. Cool aid in chicken wings. No. No. I'm sure the Eagles are thrilled to hear this. I rolled out some new food. He was like, no, no, no, do it. Chicken wings with cool aid. No, not doing it. Not doing it. We just hear the ESP talk. I think just one more time. One more time. One more time. What part of the inches are? Whenever you want to. 18 inches to yourself would be a lot. A lot of inches. I'm so glad. Now, I know this was like one off. I need this to be a weekly thing. And what do you guys think about the, you know, he gives a certain amount of ESPs. That's like thumbs up, I guess. That's fine.

Yeah. Yeah. Eight ESPs, nine ESPs. Delta poll. Mike Taylor. Um, usually separate gold. Seriously because I decided it's the def Institution nightly. Oh. Guilty. He'll gin Johnson might not like that, man. Why not? Dude, we have one too many food influence. Certainly. Only room for one nation puts on the one room for foodie's here. Yes. it might have it right now he might have taken a mantle from john johnson sorry say this what do you say what do you say 18 inches to yourself would be a lot that you're hogging up all the inches all right let's go to the phone lights here while you giggle through this one want to be up on WIP what's up want to be thanks for having me on good afternoon guys good afternoon what's up one one one thinks about the ideal shana hand scheme quarterback which is obviously the scheme we're largely adopting here until it off you this season

you think about quick footwork in and out of the pocket of a play action and from under center with zero hesitation throws over the middle of the field unfortunately for us as eagles unfortunately for us none of that describes jaylen hurts very well so i can understand why there's some consternation about jaylen hurts it within this scheme that being the case i'm calling with two reasons why we should have some optimism with jaylen hurts i'm excited for this all right make me feel better about all this what he got i'm going to make him feel better reason number one jaylen hurts is denying it publicly but it's kind of obvious that he has lost some size and i think that he's doing that with the intent of trying to sit this scheme with the quickness in and out of the pocket with the footwork that is required from under center and to play action to make this work they will speed up speed up this footwork which will also speed up this throws off of play action

so he can slightly better fit this scheme but reason number two is the bigger reason shan manion comes from the green bay branch of the shana hand tree and last year in green bay they were unique in that they were unusually good and with a high volume by the way of not necessarily just living over the middle of the field but designing out breaking routes for their quarterback jordan love yeah you know it's interesting you bring up that because shana hand mcvay rams niner's comp a lot but that i think the one that we probably should have paid the most attention to and probably should look back and look at to your point is the packers and and they did get love out of the pocket a lot i i think there's there's probably more similarities between love and hurts than then we've noticed and that's probably the tell i want to be i think that's if jordan's going to be good at this he's probably going to be good in the jordan love vein who has a good deep ball and also gets on the move a little bit

absolutely twenty two percent his highest category of completions twenty two percent of those completions last season were on short outbreaking routes and i watched the last two full seasons of every gontavion wicks target and i think of wicks i think of a big physical guy you can be pressing runs flants over the middle but that's not how they primarily used him an extremely high percentage of his targets were super skeamed up throws off of motion on short outbreaking routes where he was wide open for the quarterback so i have some confidence that shana manion will be able to blend the shana hand style with jordan hurts yeah and let's take my call again you got a man we appreciate when i mean what he's got me watch all the film and he's got the film he's got the breakdowns he's got the the snaps of wicks the the wicks element we haven't talked about him in a few weeks you because he hasn't played the preseason but he was the story early in camp and he's the number to receive her on this team i mean there's a chance on sunday day tabion wicks is a huge story i mean he he could be a guy that catches a touchdown that wins the game i mean he's he's a big deal on sunday

yeah it's going to be interesting to see how they they married a the run game to the the play action game and and how quickly jalen does get the ball out his hand because i think that's the that's the thing we don't know because we when we think it is offense we think a quick throws and all this other stuff so so what is jalen going to do or how are they going to get jalen prepared to to run this offense and and be efficient at the other thing to go back to green bay and where manion was last year they did play games in the season with malik willis right and stylistically malik willis and jordan hurts are the most similar of all these quarterbacks right they they're they're guys that can scramble that can run size wise similar they did change their offense a lot where willis would run so what we'll see how the jalen runs part of this comes in but there's there's definitely needs to be optimistic that man is going to make this work and make it work pretty quick there could we get to a huge favorite segment of every single Friday can we guess the takes here hate this segment why it's such a fun say all we got to do is guess what everyone's saying on monday

i think you don't like how you perform in this segment as opposed to not liking this sort of stuff but i'll give you a couple extra minutes to figure this out all right you don't perform well all right here here's the taker here money biggest acquisition of the offseason the NFL with mic mcdano the charges the jessen herberts going to have a huge year in mcdaniel's offense they're going to light up the woeful cardinals 40 points on sunday mcdaniel as the coordinator in los angeles the biggest acquisition of the offseason here what do you got i got i think her hurts can run this offense i think that's going to be the big conversation peace mondays that hurts going to be able to people are going to think that hurts you know can really thrive in this offense i think that's going to be the case so i i here's a take that joe jillios and idiot hurts got this not in sale not that's a good that's a good that's going to be a part of the take yeah someone will call that would be oh yeah yeah yeah yeah no question all right so hurts got it mcdaniel the biggest acquisition of the offseason kaiwadi got we have lost or collective minds as NFL fans and not talking enough about Patrick mohams and you read the chiefs of seasons good what were we

thinking funny when we had ray on the other day and we i brought it up to him it was like the first time that we had brought up my homes or anyone had brought up my homes in weeks and it's like wait a second the best player of this generation is back they had it yeah they had a bad year last year and he did tear his ACL but they were six and seven and going to miss the playoffs before he tours ACL a few had his I told you so moment oh yeah so I get that I get why people are down on them but like you can still play we're talking about Patrick mohams and he read he's held the yon of the week one the guys like bionic i mean it's for she writes going to play what we think the entire season i don't know i just think we're kind of crazy to not talk about them enough well i mean you look at superl predictions you know wherever you want to look or whoever say and then very few have the chiefs and it just had been before last year for what five or six straight years it was mostly chiefs right that way it was every year you just kind of said that's probably the chiefs and now everyone's just pretending they're not in it anymore it's like did we ever do this with a Brady and ball check team or did like people always at least have them

in consideration i'm talking about the contenders i guess they were always in consideration the comparison would be some Brady tours ACL first game of oh eight so this would be the oh nine of it's kind of hard to remember what people were thinking then now they did make the playoffs they lost in the first round set the jets no that was the ravens they lost it was they played the ravens in a wildcard game and got blown out the jets go to back the back yes the next two years the jets then that i think it's the year after you're talking about the jet speed them yeah but they made they made the playoffs right like we're Brady back they made the playoffs i expect that she's back in the playoffs here she's back in the playoffs yes i grow that and you know who else is going to be in the playoffs jets no no i'm sorry jts j-e-t-s that mean you should have made your take it's a jets blow the doors off the titans and the playoffs train the source of the fact the fact you whispered that tells me all i need to know he says not that common it's not really that common whatever the opposite of saying that with your chest it is because everyone knows what this is you just want

a free hoodie in the hotel room from the jets i'm not going to be able to go i know but you but you got the invitation to you i was i felt i did feel kind of some kind of way i'll tell you though i'm betting on the jet i'm betting on the jets on sunday you know what we got to put together parlet well i don't know i mean you've been you've been losing all years i know you know what i'm a huge fan you know what i hit my lagging to you know what like that's why like for selfish reasons that's why i was mad at mcbay because he can go for the last couple if he gave me a book so we selfish book in the tuda what who can nukua mr bider himself if you did just gain matiddi out of been in the game i'd have been in the game i'd have been in the game well he almost had the one but then he got you know just out of the half yard line three dollars two two two two two two have kuna matata what a wonder for it like see that i got to stop doing it because people get mad start talking about i ain't down with the brown like like you know what i mean i'm hating on puka well you know what i mean like i'm not feeling that about he's i never i look at people correct okay let's let's go to the top and uh we're gonna put this part layer together share the jet first let's talk to territus prick fiel have any he'll help us out what's up territz

he's your college friend man what's up territz guys you just have to be a must win my must win game uh because the ramps lost so that that's put some behind the a-bar already you know and we show what happened we see they had cut the start off better for the evil you we saw the hate watch the a-j goes to an all time high he gets injured appreciate lose jerk laylits horrible and the and the ramps lose so the next two losses one in the mfc that we really needed but that i heard you talk about you know i talked about teens earlier in the quarterback mm-hmm i think we got to we got to start taking this differently about how we wreck these quarterbacks because we saw years before we could see a quarterback go all here and and be the mvp the league but they ultimately they don't find the job and they can't get the job done we said we should every year it's not always the quarterback that has the best year it's not always the quarterback that has the mvp year that's holding on party at the end of the season so i feel like villain hurts this Jerry does that something to prove and i do want to see uh i heard he said

is i want to see the flow i want to see the rhythm to the offense because that would say a lot what Jerry hurt says and what he has to prove coming into the season guys but it's so far friday man and and we got two sleeps in the wake up two sleeps in the wake up and i'm actually i'm still i'm really i'm really what i want to see how the offense looks because they're going to say a lot about how we come out this year and the first four games we know the ramp they got some flaws so that game right here we were worried about them first four games the ramp game i'm not so much worried about it right now because you forget staffers old these old these are these pushes 40 so he might not be the same mvp player he was last year so to me guys that showed me the other night is the nsl is wide open i never before but peri coming in doing what he did last night the nsl is back to being wide open and that said a lot that's good good odds for the easels well so look the ramp certainly they did not look as good as people thought a terns could phone call me the opposite well i think we might maybe the opposite is more true than we think like the ramps might not be as

good as i thought sure but what if the niner's are also a contender that just we slept in there bonafide i'm right that told me it's tighter and then with the deep deep okay back deep hole was born the last night man you did it look good man yeah they did lose their rookie receiver those dribbling on her and i think they kind of need him that the niner's lose everybody every game it's crazy well that's the other thing with them they always get hurt like they look good right now will they be whole by January i think they are the most injured team nine of the last ten seasons i saw yeah but it's a healthy like you get injured early and get healthy late that that might be that might go well for the electric substation next to their state they're going to they probably thinking about moving now it is crazy they get injured they like they have to yeah it's actually like in could you imagine if we were dealing with that here we would lose our minds while we would be protesting outside of it oh yeah we would have the Eagles would have to have close the substation but we had run the ball signs outside the Nova care dude we would be rioting out front of that substation we might have to get a run the ball chance started at the pregame show on Sunday here that was that we thought it listen we would not buy a bitch of the think that the way the fans are going to be lathered up this Sunday for the first one yeah we can get

we can get them there whatever we want for 25s the best for a lathered up crowd i mean you could you get there at eight a.m. and you're right to roll picture this the substations here we have a show would you go without electricity for a week if it meant the Eagles state healthy oh without question lighten gunlight and candles and all five yeah what do you make that sacrifice no shot I live in Delaware so I don't live in the city so I don't care I don't care candles and flashlights in Delaware no I'm just saying I don't I don't have to worry about the power out it's no no no this is no we're talking about like the whole sacrifice yeah yeah oh no would you sacrifice for the Eagles to be fully healthy come on you heard it here first what do you want a team player what do you need electricity for a week for your find oh they got a 3d print some stuff oh come on you see me you see my ghost printed a ghost today this tells you how much he's more friendly than yesterday that's what it was scary and a ghost like printed a ghost did you print that did I print the fat ghost now he's more he's more like a I guess he's he's like the more tall tall ghost he's a little wide though no one called fat he's a white ghost he's a white he's a sturdy ghost

sturdy ghost 215 592 949 for you people we'll get to them they seem like they had a day to day and predictions our score predictions for the game on Sunday it's a big day show on sports radio 94 WIP oh it is that time of the day let's check in see what you people are up to during our share date what's going on with them all right you know how I know football is officially oh wow they're in the argan about you know well yeah no no that is that was all off season that's 24 seven yeah we had a Carson Wentz account dropping an Eagles chance welcome back it's crazy we used to back up by the way to Kyler Murray Minnesota and I just saying that five years ago Kyler Murray backed up by Carson Wentz for the Vikings it's crazy um we thinking he comes back for next year's 10 year anniversary well is he still playing he can't come back if he's playing I know maybe why not he's got a game they're getting on this by we didn't dare his sleigh comma dare his like him watch a game well he's at the steel it's like different like well I think yeah

I think if he's available he will come back and I think it's going to be more cheers than not yeah I think Tiger right now yeah but the Eagles have won so much since he left everyone's happy yeah whatever oh good uh you know I don't think I trust Joe Giulio you're waiting to wait you see it though you should you should because this is a must win game I'm trying to say it in the way that I imagine them yeah that's what I'm saying that's why it's funny when you say it like that well I try to tie it to must win game Douglas over here makes excuses yep I'm not a must one you can't be trusted oh here's my favorite um I was told but I was told Matt Stafford won the MVP Lester he he did he did win I'm not gonna get upset at this one because they're trying to bait me and now no because he did though it like you know you were you were told because he did win the MV literally happened literally oh was got the award now I was told the scoocal rivers right there oh and it is right there it is there but I was told you can't but I was told down so fast doesn't technically you are told but like there's you know you were told because yes

yes right it is a factual I did not I didn't expect that I was told would devolve into and they're just saying I was told yeah it's an objective truth yep uh the Eagles could win 56 to nothing but it won't be good enough for Joe Giulio it'd be great I would be good enough for anybody except the commanders right I mean we've come in here Monday said yeah this is the best team in the effort going back to the circle yeah this is the best team in the league I've just thought probably people have lost their minds lost them you're done Joe Giulio done this because the Rams guarantee okay well just like Sean McVase said that they're not gonna let that game define them I'm not letting he didn't allow anybody to ask him any question he was like I'm about to go ahead and nip this in the butt just made a mistake travel was it yeah just like McVase said we're not letting one bowl prediction define it so look he was showing up every day since the Bryce off prediction and we know how bad that one was that's true by the way I never got I quickly never got to read that poll result because Scott call you know we can talk to Scott Fransky you kind of put up a poll on which bowl prediction was worse right the the Rams are going to feed it what I said yesterday or

Bryce off would break the all time sacrifice you want probably about 65 you think you mean as in Joseph's worse yeah 58% Bryce off was worse is that right yeah oh it was pretty cool some I'm okay right so I just who sacks the right to probably gonna win 13 or 14 years that's the thing he's talking batteries now I can't play you know as a matter of fact it might NFL players association news letter there was a story about him saving the world him and his brother yeah I just got it today real true true true story propaganda no they were saying that like he is you know because he was talking about how I forgot who the coach was but talking about how you you follow your dream and pursue your passions and and that was Bryce off let me see if I can play but I but he couldn't play I thought his passion was a Bryce Huff shifts focus from football to battery fires yeah this feels like a backup plan to me not pursuing your dream but anyway I you know I can't speak didn't put in there when he stole money from Eagles and I was like it was talking about Chuck Noah was the coach he said Chuck Noah was there when Bryce Huff retirement NFL he instantly transitioned

to the thing Hall of Fame head coach Chuck Noah called a football players life work I thought you were gonna say Chuck Noah's quote was going to say he's been he's been he said no he said Chuck no say what a football he calls what a football player's life work you know he said it's like it's like when the guy was chatting with an Alec Foam fan account on Facebook he said Huff and his older brother had a call college college to address the fire risk of lithium ion batteries there's a lot of companies Huff said you know I got to tell you I don't I don't need to hear more of this I'm trying to tell you say a lot of lives and a lot of batteries it's a filibuster because you predict so bad this is exactly this is a hell of a fun that this the couple I don't give a shit currently has six employees cut his mic cut his mic he got six holy players I'll get the hell out of here enough two very different types of fan on the other pole result by the way which I did find interesting the amount of people who voted for must win yep we won that part of the poll no question but we got both of these comments very strong

contingent of both who's the idiot that thought this was a good question and then there's the every game is a must win I love it yep I mean that's too complete opposite well if that's the reality then of course this is a must win it's a game that's exactly okay so let's get back to brass tax now we'll solve with these parles man we'll be doing we gotta make we got to we have score predicted in the middle of you people who what do you do I mean I mean if you box I need a couple shackles all right you gotta make your probably in a run time we're all throwing like three minutes Alex I hope everyone has a safe and blessed day oh you too you too yeah that's very never seen that guy in the shop we need more of these people more people like that it's very nice I think me feel nice it's one of the nicest things anyone never said to people um week one is not a must win Joe world war two was a must win all right well okay he really put that in perspective that is that is well again just like one of our colors Rick if you had said that in the open I would have considered that's exactly right that's how you would expect the world war two yeah that's take down the Nazis that's a must win

yeah we had to win that one and we did well we got to take down the commies I mean pretty close you know anyway haven't seen a tackle dominate like Trent Williams last night since Willie Roof Miles Garrick a Hugh Douglas last night but but but if I did get a sack off with it Roof in that same game that I got tea bag oh can't say that well don't dump it don't you don't dare I forgot he means like oh great we're good yeah yeah yeah yeah you got an English breakfast down down in the world gross one more thing just this is the type of analysis that we bring Hugh Douglas on the show for Hugh who's the back of quarterback on Sunday yes yes that's why he lives into the midday show yes Hugh who's the back of quarterback on Sunday yes oh so as you play a bad cuz play you got to play the Elliott one when he says what 18 inches 18 inches to yourself would be a lot the best is in laughing through it because you realize this is

me that was it immediately because you had it's full 18 inches to yourself would be a lot oh we got kill for that one all right scorpion for Sunday what do you got I play with guys go birds what would you with your score prediction what was the one the guy said that they wore 56 dollars 56 enough no good enough for Joe Chilly El that's hope I hope we sweet little baby Jesus we stick with that score for the six points and I'm playing 56 nothing we do it as a show all right we'll talk to you on Sunday after the show next so sports radio 94 wip
