But they get mad.
They would have bloating the wedding.
Oh, contribute nothing.
No, we're not splitting the wedding.
This is DPA Troin, Rothenburg.
Big moment, your kids probably gonna be like,
that press got.
We know what that press got, so I can write it.
Exactly.
On ESPN New York.
And streaming live on YouTube.
I wanna run!
I feel a little badly, because I think Ray
is getting some shrapnel, and he's been quiet
and hasn't had a lot to say, but during the break,
he's like, this is not what I think.
This is not what I say.
You're putting words in my mouth.
So Ray, what do you hop on for a moment?
And give where you are with this next team, Ray.
Well, first of all, well, first of all,
like the first thing you said this morning
was that I had made excuses for the loss.
Absolutely not.
It was a bad loss.
They got out hussled.
They got killed from three.
Their closeouts were bad.
Their boxing out was bad.
Any time that you have a combined nine rebounds
from Kat and Mitch, that's not gonna work.
It's their calling card, it's getting the rebounds
and a lot of offensive rebounds.
They were not good last night.
So 100%, we'll lay that out there.
All right, so you're owning, that was a brutal loss.
Brutal loss.
Okay.
It does come at the end of a seven game win streak,
whatever, all the teams that they beat were bad.
They did beat Charlotte pretty convincingly,
the other two times they play them.
They're gonna play one more time.
I think it's the last game of the season.
So I would hope that they are up for that one.
If they need it, if it don't need it, it won't matter.
I guess, right?
I'm considering if they're locked in
to whoever they're locked in to,
that I wouldn't even play their guys.
Well, considering how tight the race is
in the Atlantic division,
they're probably gonna need that one, just a guess.
They can't put forth that kind of effort
and expect to succeed in the playoffs.
I'll say that for you right now.
And this notion that I've guaranteed
that they're gonna come out of these, I didn't say that.
You kind of put me into a corner,
said, do you think they'll come out of the East?
I said, yeah, I do believe that they will.
And that you're scared of nobody, right?
You made that clear.
And I don't believe that they should be scared of anybody.
Like, yeah, everyone in the East is a tough match.
I well, welcome to the playoffs.
That's what the playoffs is supposed to be.
It's not supposed to be a cakewalk.
You're supposed to face the best teams.
I do think that they'll be okay.
I do think that they need to have better effort
than they have last night.
But the reason that I've had this kind of angle
with the next lately is because there's a lot
of negativity coming from certain areas of the fan base.
And Dave, I feel like a lot of negativity
coming from you especially.
Okay, that's fine.
I think people are looking for a lot of what's not going well
instead of embracing what's going well.
Well, you have the two sides of this thing, right?
You have the, hey, this was the laughing stock 18 win team.
They couldn't get out of their own way.
Phil Jackson's fallen asleep.
That's done.
I don't care about that.
Right, I know where they've come from,
but I don't want to get to, hey,
the next year are a pretty good team.
The next can beat a team in the postseason.
The next can get to a Eastern Conference finals.
I want more than that.
I want to be on the biggest stage.
I want to get to the NBA finals.
I want to win the whole thing.
And the way I see it, I don't look at this team right now
and say to myself, Eastern Conference,
it's the next and everybody else.
The next, I didn't even think they're in that.
I still think Boston, maybe and certainly Detroit
are better.
And then this idea that Detroit was just going to fall off, too.
I heard that, oh, no Kate Cunningham,
they don't have anybody else.
They're going to completely fall off.
It was a stupid take by whoever
happened to say stuff like that.
So I'm sorry, man.
I don't have the same blind faith that you do, right?
I don't.
You don't have that 65 or sooner faith.
I don't.
I don't.
Clearly.
I don't.
I think this team is a good team.
And I think that they could go on a run,
which is thrilling.
And I think they could get bounced.
Listen, I think anything's possible.
That's why you play the playoffs.
The nice thing is that it's not a one game situation.
It's the best of seven, right?
So again, I don't see a single team in the conference.
Yes, Detroit has given them a lot of problems.
But you know what?
Detroit gave them problems last year.
And then they proceeded to go and beat them
every single time that they played at Detroit.
Is Detroit in your opinion far better?
This year than they were last year.
Well, the record says that they are.
OK, so they are.
So that's the point to me, right?
Is that Detroit is, yes, you were better than them.
You they gave you a struggle in the regular season.
They gave you a struggle in the post season.
You beat them and you moved on.
This is in my mind, a far better
piston's team this year than they were last year.
Yeah, I would think so.
They're a better team.
I still think that the team with the playoff experience.
And again, the next I don't like that they kind of have
this notion of, oh, we can turn it on to the playoffs.
Not that they've come out and said that and expressed that.
But that's the way they tell you without telling you that.
But you can kind of see it out there.
Again, with a performance like they had last night.
Yeah, that's that's not helping the situation.
It's not.
And again, I can't stress enough that I'm not happy with what I saw last night.
I don't think anybody's happy with what they saw last night in any aspect.
But I think again, we look for things to be negative about.
We look for things to harp on.
Well, you know why reasons why they can't succeed because the expectations
are as high as they've ever been, right?
And I think that's why when you're when you look at your team and you say,
this team has a real chance to get to hear and you see flaws and you see problems
that will prevent you from getting to there.
I think you have to discuss and you know what?
I can relate to those because I'm a Yankee fan.
And you hear me complain about the Yankees all the time and the Yankees are always
always a team that's in contention.
And they're always in the hard drive you crazy.
But the Yankees have been there for what a decade now where they where they
can't get over the hump, but the Cowboys is another example.
Like that's a team that I keep hearing about how talented they are and how
they can't overcome.
But it's been several decades of this now.
And after a while, you get tired of hearing it.
Go show me that it's been competitive for what three years.
Maybe I don't know.
I just feel like we're holding them to a different standard than most of the
other teams around here, especially for the fact that here in New York,
we haven't exactly seen a lot of success lately throughout the throughout the
town.
Right.
But let me ask you a question.
So the Yankees team that won 94 games last year and lost to the blue
Gs.
Blue Gs.
Yeah.
Blue Jays.
Get that one.
Okay.
Blue Jays.
Have they gone out this offseason?
Brock Bell and your back, but also added and you felt like they got better.
What do you think the expectations for the Yankees would be this year?
I think the expectation would be okay.
Get over the hump.
Division.
Beat Toronto this time.
Right.
So, but so you have a next team that again, going back to two last season.
Was it a struggle against Detroit?
Yeah.
Was but they figured it out.
I mean, we had down 20, a couple of times against Boston.
Yeah, but you figured it out.
If that Haliburton shot doesn't go in in game one, the shot that haunts us to this day,
maybe we're in the NBA finals.
You bring the team back that did that plus you add to it and you feel like you're better.
So of course, I mean, of course the expectations are now and you fire Tom Thibito.
Of course, the expectations are you going to get to the NBA finals now.
It's not an unfair expectation especially when you look at the landscape of the East.
I agree with you, which is why I still feel that they should come out and I will be disappointed
if they don't come out of the East.
Well, I hope you're right, man.
I desperately hope you're right, but I'd be lying to you if I didn't say I had real concerns
about this team.
And I just think it's dangerous to have this idea of, yeah, we'll make our way through
the regular season, but when we get to the postseason, don't worry.
That's when we ratchet it up.
Who are you to play with fire like that?
You have, I mean, yeah, you went to the Eastern Conference finals last year.
You lost the series.
You probably should have won.
Who are you to mess around with?
You know what?
Two ricks point about like, you know, the steps that you take to improve.
I think that that notion was put out there the second they fire Tom Thibito because the
second they fire Tom Thibito and it took us all by surprise, right?
But that was put out that, hey, we've done pretty good, but we think we can do better.
That's right.
So what's better than an appearance of Eastern Conference finals?
But again, Tom Thibito is the type of coach who pours everything into the single game.
He's not, he's not, I don't want to say he's not thinking big picture because of course
he's thinking big picture, but he will try to win that game right that that all the next
would probably with the roster that they have now, which is a deeper roster than they
had last year would probably have a better record because they would have put more effort.
Those guys would dress out, you know, the minutes would be higher for everybody.
But they probably be a little bit more banged up going into the place like that's why the
entire thing is like, hey, Mike Brown, find the rotation that works experiment, figure
out what works for this team and when we get to the playoffs, do your thing.
Right, but I think it's often not right, but I think the Davis point, you can't, you
can't necessarily see like see the positive impact of that yet till you see the positive
impact of that.
Like how Mike Brown has run this team this season, I think you can see with Mitch because
of how they've managed him, but as far as, you know, how, how Mike Brown has, you know,
divvied up the minutes and how he used his bench, will that lead this team fresher to get
through the post season?
We don't know till they get through the post season.
I think to the point Davis trying to make is, you know, and I'm not saying you should have
kept tips because it felt like they just all felt like it was time for change and cat
and bridges and everyone else.
He was, you know, he was too stubborn.
He wasn't collaborative all those things.
But if what you just said, Ray is, is that, you know, tips is more focused on game to
game and he's trying to win all these games.
I think if that was the case and your team is deeper and now you got the one seed instead
of Detroit, you'd feel much better about it than you do right now.
Would you not?
If at least you'd feel like, Hey, we give ourself every opportunity going into this thing
to have to have the one seed, which is just home court through the east.
I mean, you feel good about that right now.
It's like, okay, we like our team.
We think we're a good team, but I also recognize that this season, we haven't been
good on the road.
We haven't been nearly as good on the road as we are at home.
And then you just point this through Detroit and we won, you know, what, three games in Detroit.
Detroit wasn't great at home last year.
Detroit is 28 and nine at home this year.
So like to think that we're just going to march into Detroit and win into Detroit now.
Like that was, that was last year's version of Detroit.
Last year.
So Detroit this year is 28 and nine at home.
Last year Detroit was 22 and 19 at home.
Three games over 500 at home last year.
Well, last year Detroit was the sixth seed.
Right.
This year Detroit is the one seed.
Correct.
So it's a, I mean, and Kay Cunningham was terrific last year.
He's better this year like like Detroit is just a far superior team this year to what
they were last year.
I mean, there's no two ways about it.
Right.
And we were better.
I mean, that record wise, we were better on the road last year than we are this year.
Only three games over 500 on the road this year.
We could talk about this.
We're blue in the face.
The bottom line is if the Nick succeed in the postseason, you'll look at this.
This is great.
And if they don't get there, I don't think I don't think that saying that we're holding
the next to a higher standard is unfair.
I have to hold them to a high standard and a higher standard.
You changed coaches.
So you were telling us where they got to last year was, was not what you thought they
could do.
Right.
But also, I mean, take that plus the circumstances surrounding the East right now.
Or what we thought about these going into the season.
I thought that it was going to be, I mean, that it was going to be much less competitive.
I think it is kind of wide open anyway.
Right.
I mean, it is wide open.
I mean, you tell me, is Orlando a team that you think is going to get better in the coming
years?
Yeah.
Is Charlotte?
Yep.
Is Atlanta?
Yeah.
So it's not this.
Hey, so it's going to be back.
It Boston's going to be good for a long time.
I mean, Detroit's going to only get better.
It's just this idea that odds to, it's not the West.
I'm not saying that.
But it's not just like, okay, you know, wake me up when you get to the Eastern Conference
finals.
I think that, depending who you play in the first round might not be an easy matchup.
No, I don't think it's going to be an easy matchup.
I mean, right now, I would take Toronto.
I mean, if it ends today, Toronto would give me a lot of concern because we've on Toronto
matchup.
I want Atlanta.
Right.
But on top of we won the NBA Cup, too.
I know it's on a big deal, but still.
Right.
So you can understand why the expectations are as high as they are.
Really?
See, my expectations didn't change at all with winning that NBA Cup.
No, but it just further, it just adds to it.
It just adds to why would, like, why shouldn't they be expected to get through the East?
I think they probably should.
Right.
So I mean, but the brace point was that we hold them to an unfair expectation, like unfair
standard.
Well, I don't, I don't know what's unfair about it.
I mean, they went to the Eastern Conference finals and you fired the coach.
So what standard should we hold them to?
Well, I think, I mean, then you've got better, though, forget just hiring a fire in the
coach.
You're better, you're deeper, you got the new coach, right?
You fired the coach to bring in a new coach, like, I think expectations through it should
be ratcheted up right now.
So I don't agree with that, Raymond, but I understand why you're confident.
I guess.
Well, let's, let's, let's go.
Let's get through these.
What are the nine games left?
Nine games.
Well, we got two.
I mean, you got OKC coming up next Sunday.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So you'll pretend like you know that you'll be, you'll be paying attention.
Of course, I'll be paying attention.
Right.
The lock going on now, yesterday was a great sports day.
Ah, yesterday was the elite.
It was a great sports day.
There really was.
You didn't, you didn't really realize how good it was, but you had the, you had the
bets in the afternoon.
Then you had the, the Islanders and good win for them.
Oh, yeah, the college basketball.
Did you watch any of that game?
Very, very sparingly.
Another up to nothing and they, they held out for two, one win.
No, not only were they up to nothing, they, Dallas pulled their goalie and then we had
an opportunity where we're going to go in, score this goal, make it three, nothing,
night, night games over and Schaefer goes to dive to push the puck past.
I think it was Harley and he kind of full body stops it and they go right down and score
to make it to one with plenty of time left.
Oh, there was a lot of time left.
A lot, there's like, yeah, I think I got to look at the thing like maybe two minutes.
But it went from like this game's over because we scored this empty net to, oh, oh,
now it's, now it's two one.
But they did hold on.
Now if they had blown it, you'd, you'd be horrified, right?
But they held on and they, and they, and they got the two points.
That's a big two points for New Islanders like, we're back in the, we're back in the
Walker.
Right.
But that's how fickle this is.
Yeah.
You lose again to Chicago.
You're out.
You winning game against Dallas.
You're in.
Like this is, you talk about, you know, nine lives here.
It's a, it is a roller coaster of emotions.
It is a roller coaster of emotions.
Yeah.
It really is.
It's exciting.
It's what you want.
Of course it is.
Especially when the expectation wasn't that you were going to be a playoff team this
year.
All right.
I agree with you.
So they scored with.
Yeah.
I mean, they just, just under three minutes left in the game, do you like this pull the
goal?
Like I've seen teams.
I think it was wild.
It started.
Yeah.
Like pull the goal.
Like four, five minutes left.
Are you, are you a fan of that?
I think it depends on the feel of the game for me.
Sometimes you feel like, I mean, they're down to.
So they're trying to get one.
I mean, they got to score two.
So I understand trying to give yourself more time.
And you, you assume down to with five minutes ago, you're going to lose the game, right?
You're probably going to lose.
Yeah.
So you might as well just pull out all the, all the stops.
Yeah.
I also think that there's, I mean, there's a good time to do it.
There's a bad time to do it.
Like depending on, you know, what, what your puck possession looks like in the offensive
zone, but yeah, it's just to have a, to have it like, okay, games over to, whoo.
Do you change scores now?
It's two one.
And there's for two minutes.
Less than more than that.
I mean, he scored seven.
Three minutes.
Three minutes.
Three minutes left.
Yeah.
That is a long time.
One construction.

Well, I'm just saying like I just, I'm just throwing it out there.
Two, three.
I mean, I love Pickleball event at a great time.

Duke St. John's tonight, by the way, that's massive.
Godfilling who wins.
Duke.
Well, I'll also, in Gangba, came back and played 13 to 14 minutes against TCU and Caleb
Foster.
It's amazing.
This wasn't like bigger storylines.
They didn't have, they're, they're starting five and they're starting point guard.
And nobody really made mention of it.
Caleb Foster practiced on Wednesday and Shire said there's a chance he plays in this game
tonight, the game time decision.
All right.
So can you think about those guys back, both of them back and they played like a competitive
level.
I think, I think Duke is far superior, but only the only thing that would give me pause
for concern is if they have trouble like, like Kansas did getting the ball in, like
getting the ball up, the physicality, the turnovers, the St John, the St John chute well
enough though.
No, no, they don't shoot well, then they, they don't shoot well.
I don't expect them to shoot well.
Bryce Hawkins doing that, St John, they are a physical presence, they are a, and they'll
muck it up exactly that.
So can they make it ugly enough that you also play ugly basketball and beat you 63, 59?
I mean, maybe it's not like the spread is 14, the spread is six and a half in this game
and hit enough threes, right, because they're going to take them.
Oh, they're going to take, they'll take them, they'll take their threes.
Bryce Hopkins has been making them.
Yes.
But I'm also defensively Duke is at a different level than what they've seen.
Uh, you're right.
Yeah.
I mean, listen, there's a reason why Duke's the number one seed in the whole tournament.
I mean, Duke's a good team.
Just like last night, we were talking about, I mean, how good a cuff is and excited about
Arkansas and they got whacked by Arizona.
Uh, cause they'll play any defense.
I know, but there's just a, you said there's levels to this, there's levels and Arkansas
is good.
They're not Arizona.
Good.
And I think St. John's is good.
I don't think they're Duke good, but we'll find out it's going to be a great scene too.
Oh, it's going to be crazy.
Oh, it's going to be crazy.
Crowd's going to be unbelievable.
Tickets are through the roof.
Give me great.
I can't imagine though, but I guess if, if you've done it before, you'd be okay doing
it.
But like, you're in the sweet 16.
These kids are all in their late teens, early 20s, right?
And you got to sit around all day.
If you're Yukon, Michigan State and you're playing a game of nine, it's supposed to be
a 945 tip tonight.
Right.
Oh, it's got to be all four, right?
Oh, that's got to be, what are you doing all day?
And then 945 ish, like if the first game goes late, you'll go late.
Like last night, you had the, uh, what was the game, they went to overtime, the Texas
Purdue game.
Yeah.
No, it didn't go to overtime, but you thought it was going to go over, like these games
they extend out.
That Texas Purdue game, they just kept reviewing everything, took forever.
The game that started 30 minutes later, Iowa and Nebraska finished before the Purdue
Texas game.
Yeah, I just couldn't imagine what I would do all like, I mean, playing a seven o'clock
game was hard enough and 945 maybe create you must be exhausted.
Did you see the kid on Texas that after the game last night, he said he was playing with
a broken foot.
I didn't see that.
No.
Yeah.
And he scored like 13 points last night.
He broke his foot in the last game and he said the training staff and doctors were so
amazing.
He was able to get out there and play and you had no idea that he was playing with a broken
foot.
I love those stories.
A broken foot.
Yeah.
I mean, listen, you saw, I mean, Philip Rivers play with the 20 ACL, like guys, I mean,
it's crazy.
Some of these, what these guys do, NHL, you hear after the playoffs, the guys are playing
with broken feet, ankles.
This guy needs shoulder surgery.
This guy needs the hockey when they give you the laundry list of what's actually wrong with
these guys and hockey.
It's unbelievable.
Like this guy's playing with the torn rotator cuff and he's playing that dislocated
by a cap.
What was it?
I think it was that could check out a broken sternum.
Yes, it was.
I mean, this is it.
That's why it like his brother had to get him out of bed in the morning and he's playing
in an NHL playoff game.
Right.
This guy is playing with a separated shoulder.
This guy had a broken clavicle.
It's like, oh, how do you do this?
Lots of, lots of treatment and lots of, uh, I don't imagine lots of torto.
I guess that's what happened to me in that fight.
I don't want to use it as an excuse, but I was so hopped up on pain, on pain medication.
I don't even, I was like in a different world that day.
You were banged up going into that.
I was banged up pretty much the entire like from the time I hurt my knee and got it fixed
to the very end.
I was pretty, yeah.
It was a struggle.
I went through a period of time where I went to see every great knee doctor in the history
of knee doctors and no one knew the idea.
I saw every, I was in, I remember being a doctor in Andrew's office thinking he was like,
okay, I'm here.
I think it was in Tuscany.
I don't know where I was.
I was somewhere in Florida, maybe.
And he came in the office and I was all fired up.
I'm like, okay, he'll fix this.
And he looked at me.
He's like, I have no idea.
Really?
I don't know why it's, I don't know why it feels the way it feels right now.
So I went and I flew to LA to see nerve doctors.
I popped out of, I mean, got popped out from underneath his desk and he was sleeping
under his desk.
Like this guy's not going to help me.
I'm no joke.
This guy was supposed to be like the one of the unbelievable nerve guy because I was having
a bunch of nerve, like a nerve situation down my leg and they sent me back me and my
wife.
And we opened the door and it looks like he pops out from like under his desk and is
like, he's all disheveled.
His shirt's untucked.
I was like, what was he doing down there?
I have no idea.
I was like, this is the doctor.
I like my wife.
I don't think this is going to be good.
And what was he, was he a good doctor?
Hi, I don't know.
We didn't use him.
He didn't sound like he had like a ton of information as to how he could help me.
So you flew across the country to see him and he comes popping out from under his desk?
Yeah.
Then I had a surgery in Boston where they just opened up my knee and then just shut it.
Then that was it.
They didn't do the surgery, right?
They told me they couldn't do anything.
Right.
So I had to why I walked out of that one all upset.
Oh, geez.
That was a mess.
All right.
Let's get to a couple calls.
Well, break.
We'll come back.
We'll get to the morning roast because it is a Friday morning.
Let's go to Eric and Queens, Eric.
Good morning.
You're on ESPN, New York.
Yeah.
Good morning, Dave.
Good morning, Rick.
Listen.
I agree with you.
I think the mix are in a little bit of trouble.
Is it me or does it look like the lead has really caught up with Brunson and really got
him in a bad way because offensively they're starting to look horrible and the ball is not
moving.
He shoots almost every shot where I'm not knocking him because he is who he is.
So you would say, man, like the coaches that someone would just like tell him to just
be more of a little for some kind of or maybe even pick up the pace, push the ball a little
more.
Change up something because then we're just seeing the same old same old and I think the
offense is really struggling.
I'll wait to hear what you guys got to say.
Well, I think and thanks to the call, he makes it sound like dire.
I don't think it's that awful.
I don't I don't think that like, you know, the league has caught up and this is a real
problem.
I would say I'm somewhere in the middle.
Like I just I have I'm aware I have 17 points first quarter.
I know he's, but he scored 17 points of the first quarter at 13 assists in the game.
I don't.
I don't I don't I do not think the league has caught up to me.
He is not.
He's not extricional point guard.
No.
Okay.
He's a he's a score.
But he's not a pass first point.
Right.
And then he closes out games.
That's what he does.
I don't know.
I think by the time we get through this playoff run, again, I mean, it's, it's the three
people.
It's right now it's bridges.
It's cat and it's Mike Brown.
I don't know how good coach Mike Brown is.
Right.
So I mean, we'll find out.
Do I, I mean, I think we've seen it enough where and now we're just finally talking
about, you know, him adjusting to cat is it's it's as far as he's concerned.
It's like, Hey, getting the paint, you know, two feet in the paint and then sprayed
out to his open.
And I told you I was watching something the other day.
It's probably like two weeks ago where the guys like, I've watched every next game.
And as far as I'm concerned, their offense feels accidental.
Where it's like, I mean, if you're a good defensive team, you can kind of dictate where you
want the ball to go and who takes the shots.
As opposed to, you know, maybe finding a way early in games, Hey, let's get cat going.
You know, bridges are struggling here.
Let's get him in the mid, you know, let's get him in the mid range a little bit.
He's, I mean, that's really where his game is at.
And you know, he's not going to try to get himself to the foul line because that's
what he does.
Like, let's create some opportunities for these guys.
Also knowing that we don't have a traditional point guard, right, that Jalen Brunson
is not like it's not that is not going to be right, but he's not Jose Alvarado who's
going to run the ball.
He's not running the ball of the floor every time.
No, but you know what he, I mean, listen, he's terrific and we love him and he's crafty
and he creates his own shot, but I mean, he's, he's not a, he's not Chris Paul, right?
And he hasn't felt in the high pick and roll and get you in your spot.
Right.
But for whatever reason too, he hasn't developed this great chemistry with Cat Offensively
and they have this unbelievable two-man game that they can go to when they need to.
So Cat to me feels more like what you're talking about with like whatever they do offensively
just feels like almost accidental.
I never know what his game plan is going into into a possession.
Well, I mean, I think they're, they're starting to finally maybe figure it out.
Like you're starting to see him more like in the trail position shooting threes.
Like, that's one of the things he does really well.
Shoot threes.
This is great shooter.
Right.
So I mean, we got to find a way to take advantage of that, but I don't know, man.
I just think that they fired tibs because they just wanted to change and that doesn't
necessarily mean that they got the right guy, because it's not, Mike Brown was not the
first choice.
It was a Jason kid.
Can you?
They fired, they fired tibs without a real game plan, right?
And that I think is what has to be a little bit bothersome.
All right.
Eight hundred nine one nine three seven seven six morning roast is on the way.
I do want to let you know, game time is brought to you by a Tullamore do Irish whiskey.
When it's game time, that's exactly when it's totally time.
This is a busy, busy sports day.
You ready for this?
Here we go.
Yankees take on the giants out west.
That's four thirty five seven o'clock Rangers host the black hawks seven ten St John squares
off against Duke squares off.
You know what?
I was thinking about the bg's, the blue g's, I was thinking about the bg's, okay, talking
about chest hair.
How about that?
All right.
Great.
And I, and I for the most part, left it alone.
Then I do it and you jump on it.
Just show, it just shows you not the guy you think you are.
I'm pushing it to be great.
I just thought you knew you came out a little bit and no, I just had a slip of the tongue.
And then ten thirty nets in L.A. taking on the Lakers.
Mets have the day off Yankees in action, college basketball, fever pitch.
That's not the only college basketball game, by the way.
You got Alabama Michigan seven thirty five Michigan state Connecticut.
I mean, if RJ wants to localize, it shouldn't he at least include Connecticut and that you
would think so.
I would think so.
That's at nine forty five.
Like you mentioned, Tennessee, Iowa State is after ten o'clock tonight.
So very busy day in sports.
And that's game time brought to you by Tellamore, dude.
The original triple the steel triple blended and triple cask matured Irish whiskey.
Be sure to grab a Tellamore, do or try the new Tellamore, do honey during today's action.
Glasses up to enjoying Tellamore do responsibly tell people about the morning roast.
Would you tell them?
Morning roast one of my favorite segments of the week.
So what happens is is you dial one eight hundred nine nine three seven seven six and whatever's
bother new, that matter could be sports related, it could be, you know, a big, a big giant
company like Raymond likes to take on, you know, Dave getting fatty bacon, whatever it is,
that has as bothered you this week this morning, you call us, you roast it, you get it off
your chest.
We help you through it.
And by the time you hang up this phone, I can promise you, you're going to feel like
a million bucks and you probably have the greatest weekend of all time of all time, just
by making the call.
Just make the call.
All right.
I like things my way, my coffee, my schedule, and my treatment.
So I talked to my doctor about self-injecting with the VivGuard Hydrilo pre-filled syringe,
which contains effgarte gum on alpha and hyaluronidase QVFC.
It's injected under your skin subcutaneously.
It means I can inject in my space on my time.
It's my treatment my way, visit VivGuardMyWay.com, that's v-y-v-g-a-r-t-myway.com, and talk
to your doctor about VivGuard Hydrilo brought to you by Argenics.

I didn't jump you.
I was like, yeah, like you were stealing something from me.
You jumped me.
I thought it was an interesting little...
It was a mess up.
I thought you were trying to put a little something different on it.
I wasn't trying to.
It just came out incorrectly.
It was a little New York as did your blue jeans.
A little sprinkle of flavor.
Then we almost said nothing about blue jeans, and you jumped my misstep.
No, you said I heard Raymond go, I got to cut that.
I heard.
I mean, you guys are all bad guys.
We're bad guys.
Right, you're not one of us.
It's not.
We look to you.
You know, right, see, Ray, you know what you are?
You're the Grinch.
Who is?
What?
You said Ray.
No, I'm at Rick.
It called me the Grinch earlier.
Well, yeah.
That's because I'm wearing Grinch like.
Because I'm wearing green.
Very Grinch like.
So the Yankees team that won 94 games last year and lost the blue jeans.
Blue jeans.
Thankfully, you corrected it.
Right.
Like, no, no, not the blue jeans, because people all over, like,
they did lose to the blue jeans.
Yeah, you know what?
But luckily, you jumped on that quickly and corrected it.
I'm a human, okay?
I make mistakes.
Exactly.
Is that what you want?
If you cut me, do I not bleed?
Yeah.
But it didn't sound like I used some like foreign accent to do it.
Like, I didn't change my accent to do it.
I just made a mistake.
You did, you did it really well.
Your scrum was great.
Squares off against Duke.
Yeah.
Squares.
I thought, because you were talking to Saint John,
you wanted to go to New York, you had squares off.
Squares off?
No, I wasn't.
I just, I had a mess up.
How do you know I wasn't going to compliment you on it?
That's nice.
You know what?
That's very clever.
Because I'm being honest.
I'm always honest with you.
It was not meant to be funny or cute or endearing.
It was a mess up.
Like, you have tremendous versatility.
You know, bozo.
Oh, I am.
Oh, I am.
Is a real life bozo.
How about Debbie, Debbie jumping in on the bozo stuff?
She did call, I believe she called me.
Dean, are good morning to our gorgeous athlete
and to our adorable bozo.
And adorable bozo.
This is what I got for Debbie right here.
Here you go, Debbie.
Yeah.
Are you right here?
Little flexing, huh?
Little popping.
Uh-huh.
Yeah.
Want me to pop him?
I, you should jug.
You're a clown.
You should juggle something.
That's true.
Do some handfarts.
I did that yesterday.
I don't want to do it again today.
I came home yesterday.
Yeah.
And Milo was like, dad, please tell me that you think
Dave can hand fart as good as I can hand fart.
See?
And he's like, and he just started.
Yeah.
He just started.
See?
I was like, now you're pretty good, man.
Yeah.
That's pretty good.
See?
It's a scale.
It's not so easy.
He's 11 though.
Yeah.
So?
You're 53.
And you had a, you had a look on your face like the going, when
your kid first, first, it learns to ride a bike and takes the training wheels off.
And he's like, oh my god, I'm driving this bike with no training wheels.
That's what your face looked like when you learned that you could snap so well with
two hands yesterday.
It was unbelievable.
I was proud.
I'm still proud.
Look, if you light up when you talk about it, I can't help it.
I am who I am.
When you have skills, you have talent.
You want them to be on full display.
Are you better be careful of telling you right now?
There's a strong possibility that as I'm making saves in net, you're doing a snap booth.
They might pull you on stage for like a little snap concert.
You playing golees, it's really happening.
I do what I do is what I do.
It's really that like I, I never really thought it was going to happen.
It's happening.
It's happening.
It's a, let me, okay, here's an interesting question for you though, okay?
Okay.
Because you were there for the soul, okay, but you were there for the soul thing, right?
You know where we're having the beach bash.
We've all been there.
Yeah.
A million times, yeah.
Okay.
Where are they putting a full-size soccer net?
Yeah, right.
My guess is, and I don't know, I'm guessing to the left of the stage.
But that's not flat.
Is that a flat area?
Are you over there?
Are you over there?
I mean, everything else in the middle of that is kind of sandy.
Right, but they play sand.
I mean, they play soccer on sand.
I've seen sand soft.
I don't think it kicks on sand though.
I've seen, well, what are you going to do?
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't think I was going to be trash, not my concern.
Right.
I didn't go, I mean, you'll be wearing a soccer jersey.
It sounds like.
Okay, so that's fine.
Yeah.
You'll be having a good time.
I'm diving all over the place.
That's exactly right.
That's exactly right.
And you know what?
And this is the thing that John isn't either isn't taking into account or doesn't care.
And RJ, you of all people will know this to be true.
He's not going to, he's going to drive himself crazy going into this event.
He's probably going to wind up in an indoor facility in the next, you know, a couple of
months, taking shots from collegiate athletes.
Yeah.
He's going to, he's going to make sure he has like, he's all stretched out.
Like, he's not going to take like, like me where it's like, oh, you scored 12 and a
row.
Whatever.
That's fine.
He's going to take this very seriously, RJ.
He's going to be consuming so much time leading up to this.
He's going to be watching, like, like Gigi Buffon highlights from, he's a goalie.
Exactly.
Tony Miola stuff.
Tony Miola from journey.
Tony Miola.
He's going to consume a highlight tapes.
He may hire a personal goalie himself, but because I take people behind the people, don't
realize it.
Well, they're going to because here's what happened yesterday is John was trying to
talk him into something the size of like a goalie net.
And Rick looked at him and he said, I will dominate that.
Don't you want to give these people a chance?
That's what we're dealing with here.
So.
But how is it that we're having the conversation?
What size should the soccer net be?
Have a, a soccer regular size.
Yeah.
Right.
Just a soccer.
A soccer net will do it.
Like, why do we have to, like, if we do it two by two net with that, now, why don't
we just do a regular soccer net?
Well, I think part of the thing is that's humongous.
It's a judge and where will they shoot from from where they shoot penalty kicks from?
Well, you know how much space you need for that to happen though.
Well, you need a lot of space.
And secondarily, there's a world where it, it very simply a, a high end shot is
unsavable.
Like, I think that he wants to make sure Rick has a real.
John, how, how many high end, many, they're all going to be out there.
George, you can nail your shots.
Do you think he's going to be taking people?
Well, I'm actually going to try to bend it like Beckham on them.
I mean, really, that's actually going to have any collegiate soccer players showing up.
I think they might.
So, so, so he's so he's diving for the top corner as it goes by him.
Well, here's the thing though.
You don't see the problem there.
What's going to be going on?
It's not a problem, right?
What's going to be happening when the beat catches you?
Why did you agree to this?
Is there a comp day in this for you?
There has to be an answer to that there has to be.
What do you think is going to be going on during the big bash?
World Cup.
Who watches World Cup?
Soccer fans.
Soccer fans too.
Play soccer at a high level.
Who will be at the beach bash?
These people.
I think there's an expectation that this is to the World Cup is actually going on during
the beach path.
Yeah.
Oh, that's great.
But that's what I mean.
It's not going to be like me and you taking shots.
I think there's going to be some real ringers here.
This could be problem.
This could be a real problem.
Why'd you agree to this?
It's a great question.
It's a good question.
I don't know why.
You know, I could be like 92 degrees.
You know why.
Oh, so how many did you get?
How many could be?
How many did you get?
How many comp days did you get?
You'll lie.
If you didn't get more than one, you really failed in your negotiations.
I'm going to set the over under one and a half comp days for this.
I'm Sam Presty.
There are so many things that Rick is out on and John says, what about for a comp day?
And then he wanders back in his little.
It's like a Scooby snack.
It's like I'm going to go to that room to see if there's a ghost.
How about for a Scooby snack?
Let's go.
Let's see.
He knows what motivates me with all these people there.
I'm not getting into a soccer net to have that for a comp day.
Let's go.
What's the acronym?
KYP?
That we use?
Yeah.
He knows his personality.
John really does.
Yeah.
By the way, RJ, why is everyone on the line wants to roast me?
That was surprising.
Happy Friday.
Not because I'm a bozo.
Kyle is not on the line.
He does believe that apparently.
But these people, apparently people think you had a rough week.
The bozo was getting very upset.
I don't feel that way.
I do.
But you feel like I've had a bad week?
No, I might.
What is it?
You're doing your job.
I really don't, but I might now.
I thought you had a good week.
I thought.
So when the people call and they point out where I've screwed up, you might be like, oh,
good point.
Well, I don't know what they're going to bring up.
As far as like for me, you having a good week means that when Ray sends me all the material
for our Thursday open, right, it's so robust that I have a hard time like putting it all
in.
So that was in the affirmative, right?
The place we're meeting with tomorrow is like without Dave.
There is no deal.
No, no, no.
Yeah.
Oh, yes.
I had, there's so much in the cutting room floor.
And that was when I did.
Right.
That was a lot for us yesterday.
Sound wise.
Oh, there was a lot going on.
Big, big pile of sound.
Yeah.
I mean, you were stuffing your mouth.
I mean, it was all over the place.
Who is stuffing their mouth?
I could do so many things with both hands.
Like I know you can.
Yes.
I missed out on that.
That is, I couldn't even use that yesterday because it happened yesterday.
Next week, hand farting, hand farting, snapping.
I had a bar mitzvah Saturday night.
Oh, I have, they, they admonished me at the bar mitzvah.
Oh, no.
I'm not going to be here to do the open on Thursday.
Next week.
Yeah.
Ray, are you, are you doing the open next Thursday?
Is that what's happening?
Well, I mean, let's get ahead of this now.
Oh, boy.
He's not going to be here.
What are we doing?
Grossa, Grossa is not capable of doing it.
Grossa won't do it.
He won't, I don't think he'll do it.
I can't, I can't.
Grossa open could be entertaining.
I don't, I don't think so.
I don't think so.
Well, last time Grossa was supposed to do it,
we got the open at nine o'clock.
Next, have a bit of the late start the night before.
What time of the next one's going to be eight o'clock?
You got to have to do it before.
RJ, you want to do the open?
Where's it too much for you?
I don't think I'm an open guy.
You're not an open guy?
RJ would kill the open if it was up there.
I think RJ would kill the open too.
I've done it before, but I think I'm a,
I'm like the safety net of last resort.
Tom Bauer doesn't nice open.
Tom Bauer doesn't nice open.
He doesn't read a bow to come in and do it.
Sort of not let Golden get away.
It can't, it cannot do that.
We're going to have to shower him with money.
Yes.
Bring it.
That was funny.
Do we invite Bauer into the show early next week?
That'd be quite the long day for Tom Bauer.
Yeah, we can't do much for him.
We can't do that to him anymore.
I will say that I was, I got home yesterday
and I was thinking about when I had that inappropriate
Ginny comment and a Ginny comment and having you laugh
the way you laughed and made my whole day.
Really?
Yeah.
It was, it was jarring.
You couldn't even control yourself.
You actually shut it down.
And we can't repeat it because it was so inappropriate,
but I can't believe you said that.
To be fair.
It's his name.
It is the guy's name.
It's his name.
And listen, the afternoon does that all the time
with Richard and Manhattan, right?
But we knew what you were doing.
We knew what you were doing.
But I know, but they're knowing what I'm doing
and me crafting it the way I crafted it.
I mean, that's...
I've been trying to get fired here.
They won't do it.
Yeah.
Well, that must dash, maybe they will.
I don't know who knows.
I believe the phrase was grandma Ginny loves
feeling the blank.
Yeah.
No relationship.
Man is in a relationship with Richard, right?
Yeah.
That was a lot.
That was...
Yeah.
You looked at me and just the shock
that came out of my mouth, shock.
And then you died laughing.
That was worth it.
I'll do it again.
Really?
To make you laugh like that, I'll do it again.
I don't think the guys would appreciate that.
I think the guys are a little bit too eager
to press the dump button.
I think that gets away on every other show
that slides right through the crack.
No.
It may.
I'm telling you.
But you've already put us on the radar this week.
I'm listening back to the energy.
My God.
I think you play it once and see how people feel.
Listen.
I think we did play once.
It is.
Have your relationship.
Bleep it out, right?
Bleep out the back end of it.
Even you would admit, this week we are...
We are firmly on the radar.
I think we need...
Have people love it.
We need a...
We got...
We need to get one email this week.
We got two email.
Email.
We're getting email.
Our two deals...
Our two deals are...
The deal flow is flowing.
Our two deals are flowing.
Open.
So I would agree.
Here's the thing I will say.
This is what the people want.
That is what the people want.
And the people love you.
And the partners love you.
You know what will change if it continues?
You'll have a different pose on here with you.
No.
Same pose though.
Same Rick.
Hey.
Different RJ and Ray.
No.
Yes.
Because they'll be no...
Because they'll be no Rick.
Because they will still be named RJ and Ray.
They'll hire...
No, no, no, no, no.
They'll hire TJ and Niko as well.
Let me ask you this.
Were you on the emails that went out about the rules
were breaking this week?
I got some...
Yeah, I don't think you were on that.
I was.
That was from Justin involved in those emails?
Oh, well that one.
I have Niko.
I have Niko.
Wait.
What emails are going out?
See that what there's...
See there you go.
Proves the point.
I got the email from Justin.
Is that above and beyond that?
Oh, there's another one.
There's another one.
A long, crafted email.
By who?
Admonished.
By who?
I can't tell you.
We were all admonished.
Yeah.
I want to read it.
No.
For what?
For things that were said.
But you guys didn't say that.
We're on the radar.
We need a weekend to...
Isn't that what you want?
Don't you want to be on the radar?
No.
No.
No.
I wish...
No such thing.
I want to be far away from the radar.
Here's the problem.
Six to RJ.
All over the radar.
No.
Yeah.
Don't think so.
You want people talking RJ.
Yeah, you do.
I mean, what do we want to do?
Don't you want to be alive RJ?
I want to be employed.
Live a little bit.
You know what will happen?
Hey.
Red uncomfortable.
Hey, Rick.
I know what you said is illegal in like 17 countries.
Let's try and avoid that here.
It's not my fault that people that are named Richard can also go by another name.
By the way, RJ and Ray, they're gone.
What are you going to do when I legally change my name to Dick?
What are you going to do then?
Well, listen.
That's what you think.
You're going to dump it?
No.
That's what you think.
Okay.
Well, you're going to have to call me by my name.
Well, calling you by your name and how you position that particular sentence.
You're right.
It's your boyfriend.
I mean, what do you want me to tell you?
You know what?
I thought it was an actual relationship.
Context.
So there's an emotional relationship.
He's in a sexual relationship with somebody else.
So, context matters.
This guy's all over the place.
And what's going on with you?
If it were not you, if it were like, like Karlin, who does not have a history of being dumped every other day.
I think we let it go.
However, you're building a reputation.
You're like, you're like a lewd door right now.
It's not a great narrative going on around you.
You're not trustworthy.
Yeah.
We make money.
But is Karlin stirring up advertisement for the dump button?
Do you?
No.
I am.
There's no sponsor for the dump button.
There's going to be.
It's one of those things that gets talked about forever.
But nothing I ever actually happens.
I think even the prospective partner that would be involved with the dump button.
I think even you make them.
They're terrified.
Yeah.
You know how much they cost me with my septic tank?
They are only.
They are great.
They're phenomenal, but they owe me.
They're so great.
I was using too many of them.
I told you not to do that.
They say flushable, Dave.
Nothing's flushable.
I mean, come on.
Nothing is flushable.
Yeah.
It's flushable if you use one at a time.
But if you do the whole water for five of them, yeah, that could be a problem.
I would examine your septic tank year, like 50 million years from now.
I'd be like, oh my god.
No, I've done using them.
I don't use them anymore.
Yeah.
The problem is the heated seat.
You got the telephone in there.
The heated floors.
You just spend too much time in there.
You want to be in there.
I get to come.
You love it in there.
I know.
Oh, septic tank is clean.
They have to come clean right now.
They dig the whole driveway up.
It's a real mess.
I'm sure it was.
They said, hey, dummy.
I said, hey, what's in there?
He's like, lots of white stuff.
I love the fact that you're like, what's going on in there?
Did the kids put too much toilet paper?
Yeah, idioted you.
No, it was me.
It was me.
It was me.
It's a million wipes.
Thanks for listening to that.
