3:05Okay. Okay. So it's not a failure if... Yes. Go ahead. They get to the American League... Championship series. They get to the World Series. Or do they have to win the World Series? All right. And I'm going to trash win the World Series. It's not passable. It's a massive success if you win the World Series. Oh, okay. So this is... What I'm marrying is what I consider a success. Yes. Correct? All right. So I'm with Dave. I'd like the answer differently. Getting to the World Series. I think they need to win. Because they win the World Series, of course it was.

4:06So it is, but... It's a success. We won in seven. Yeah, we don't like how we won in seven. But there are... I'd say growing every year, population of Yankee fans, it's a... It is either Aaron Moon needs to win the World Series. Same for Cashman, or it's just time to go. I mean, I'm not saying they're going to go. But you said passable. Sure. If you go to the World Series, that's passable. I've... I know several like... So you think it's a large portion of Yankee fans? Maybe not large, but if they lose to Dodgers, Braz, Bruce, whoever, would say failed season. Yes. Wow. I would... You would? If they lost to the Dodgers, everything that's happened. Tightly contested games. You'd be like failed season. You lost Aaron Judge for three months. He comes back for 19 games and you get all the way to the World Series and lose. You know why? So it's not a championship for this guy now. It's a failure. Unbelievable. Yeah. The bars have been raised. Yeah, it has. All right. Felt to... Yankee's lose seven games, extra innings to the breweries. Failure. No, you take that. You take that. What? You know how I felt all season. There is role...

5:06This is why you're single. You're so high expectations. Yeah. That's what he did. You see the standards. He'd be dancing the crop. He'd be like, put them all. Yeah, look at that. 6:07Well, something. So... We always get rid of what the travel though is, teams in Australia. I think that's when he comes back. What can I we're talking about this? And obviously he's gone through it as professional. I... So they're taking two different angles to this. The Niners and the Rams. I'm just saying, now there's been over there for days now. And the Rams are leaving in... I don't know, like six minutes before kickoff. So... They're going to land and get off the tarmac go play. They're going to get off... It's going to be like a high school game. They're going to be back immediately. Let's call it what it is. They just wanted to get away from the substation. It's going to be like a high school game. They're going to get off the tarmac, like in their pads. Right? They're going to go play and then they're going to go squirt straight back to the... to the plane. Which... This is not part of the question. Which approach would you take? Niners and Rams. Would you have been there for a week or would you pop back in? And Rick was talking about this at the good point. The Rams almost said to themselves for week two and three. They don't have to re-acclimate in the States. Right. Boy, I mean... This is a ton of science. Right? Bull teams have studied this. What makes the most sense? Rams did it last year where they just went in and out.

7:08Right. And they went from where? They went from LA to London. That's a long flight. It's different than Australia. But I think that... They actually... I told you, they sent people over to Australia to figure out when does... When does everything kick in? How do you feel in everything else? RJ, I just looked at the Niners schedule. Obviously, no, this we don't. They do have the benefit of playing the dolphins and the cartels when they get back. That's right. That's right. That's right. How many teams will use this game as a case study? Both cases. I would think all of them. That's a far... You're the guinea pig. Yeah. It cares the other thing though too. If I'm the Rams, Obviously, you'd like to win that game. They've had success. They went into London, won the game. They came back. Fine. They got the Giants. Then they're at Denver and they're at Philly. Much different than what San Francisco... It feels like they're playing the long game a little bit. They got to do it. And the Rams go Giants at Broncos, at the Eagles and then host the Bills. Oh, that is brutal. Oh. That's a tough...

8:09I had a tough little stretch right there. I mean, for the team, everybody's basically already annoyed to... They're not defeated. I mean, that... Which is ridiculous. They're not going undefeated. Got to tell you. Might not be undefeated after week one. Oh! Wow. You feel good? Do I know about where my team's at? Listen, a lot's happened since we all last spoke. They got a tough schedule, man. Sounds like they're going... They're going play. Kittles, hot play. By the way, but how can you look at the Rams schedule? And I know what they did in the back end. Donald. Bring it in Miles Gard. So I just gave you that three game stretch. Okay, listen to the end of their season. They got Green Bay, the Chiefs, At the Niners, the Cowboys, At the Seahawks, At Tampa, Home vs. Seahawks. Roodle. Roodle. You're crazy. Well, and as you guys know, it just rarely works out that way. You're not going undefeated. Injuries. I mean, you're one hit away from the season, Fallen apart. Feet. I don't... The team in their division, whether they win the Super Bowl. By the way, is anyone talking about the Seahawks? It's like total aftertaste. I don't like... We can't wait to... We're just surprising, too. I thought the hard knocks have been good, too.

9:11You know what? And I actually hate to admit this. You like Mike McDonald. I'm impressed with how they run things. I hate to admit this even more. I'm done with hard knocks. I'm in a real football guy. Maybe. You're going to enjoy it a little bit? I haven't watched it. No. Are you... Are you... Are you preamping with that? I've punted on hard knocks. I'm done. The Seahawks practice facility is ridiculous. It's different, too. And I don't say this mockingly, too. Like... It's interesting to see how a truly buttoned up, like a champion operation runs. You can tell that it's just... And you don't deem the rounds to be similar to that? I don't. I don't. All right, so... The actual question. Um, Cutting my attrash team that failed to make the playoffs in the NFC last year. That you most believe will be there this year. Would it be... The Dallas Cowboys? Would it be the... Sexy, perhaps not as sexy? Detroit Lions for the... Is that pretty sexy? Or would it be the Bucket Nears? All right, you're all...

10:11All right, really easy for me. I'm gonna marry the Lions, Cuttle, Dallas, trashed bucks. Really? I didn't see the bucks. I thought because of the path that they've had. I'm gonna... I'm gonna marry the bucks. Yeah, that division being... Got divisions. I mean... All four teams in that division think, boy, I'm so lucky to... I let this story to a... You think the same... You think the same... They should have won that division last year. I'll marry Tampa. I'll cuddle Detroit. I'll trash. Happily mind you, the Cowboys. So I would say to Ricky, I assume that you think the same twin in the division then? I'm not assuming that the same twin in the division. I think they're right there with the bucks. Interesting. I tell you what, watching that quarter back, there's so much we haven't talked about. It's tough not to be impressed by Baker. He's a... Yeah. That's a... Well, I mean, listen, I feel the exact same way. I'm confused as to why they're not getting something done. Like, why they just want to offer me two-year deal? It's strange, right? Because these teams love to feel like they're winning the negotiations. Why? Why? Why? I mean, the guy... Ego. You have a quarter back. Jason likes a pretty respected dude. So maybe... Yeah, maybe something we don't know. I don't know. All righty, over to the AFC.

You know what I heard about Mel? I was listening to his first draft five cast. Like, crack cakes? Mel has never been to a Super Bowl. Like, in person? That's strange. It doesn't need it. And he said, if Baltimore goes this year, he will go. Well, like, the jets go. I'm going for sure.

12:12Oh, I'll say. Well, all of us. I'll fly us all out. Okay. LA, maybe. All right. Uh, I'll marry Buffalo. I will cuddle Baltimore with trash kids. The ball, they're politely, though. The Baltimore thing I find intriguing, because it's almost... It seems like it's being viewed as an addition by subtraction with your guy. You're getting a hard ball? Yeah. Okay. I could see like his new voice. Yeah. His voice. I think the people think that's damn bad. The Victor is like... I think they're hoping that Minthers like McDonald. He's kind of from that, yeah. And there's some things here that need to be settled. So we just spoke with Buster. And I mean, how far back we go now? A year and a half. There was a... It's about the bed. A broken bed. A broken bed. Between you and Buster about lunch because at the time... It would make sense that a bet between Dave and somebody wouldn't be paid off. Hey, things happen. Well, we're gonna get to that too. Well, you can have an ass-diness too. That's fine. We're gonna get to that. So... I believe people owe me stuff from all over the place here.

13:13You owe me like four meals. I owe nothing. He paid off. I think he owes me many meals. So when Aaron Judgement... I may owe you two. When Aaron Judge got off of that fast start last year, he was hitting like, I don't know, like 412 in some point. And Dave and Buster made a bet that he would not hit 370. Yep. Okay. How you got him a 370 on me? Yeah, that was an easy collection for you. But that lunch has not been paid off. Buster has been in New York a couple of times for... Now it feels like it's kind of... Dive. It feels like it's over. A little bit, right? So... Cut him out of trash what happens first. Is it lunch with Buster? Because now that I mean we're gonna get to a playoffs here with the Yankees where he's seemingly gonna be in New York. Right. Right. Would it be... Dave paying off his football bet, which again, we have just no resolution to cite. Or would it be... That's because the resolution is us doing it for him. Or... Would it be the Super Bowl? All the way towards Valentine's Day.

14:15Well, I'm confused at the last one. What happens first? All the Super Bowl happen first. So basically do you have any faith in the first to get done between now and February? Well, why would I think of my own punishment? Because you want to make it right. Because you want to make it right. Because you want to pay it off. Because the ship has already sailed months and months and... Oh, the ship is... Months ago. All right. Ship... Ship you... Ship you sake it. You want me to think of something? 15:17And agree to pawn outfit. You want me to wear something sexy? Maybe. Maybe dress up as a giant penis. Well... Is that the first time? That's how you acted. 16:17Make a call. Get out there. Get on the streets. We have, we have Mel. But no, we're not. But we're standing around. No, we have Mel. He's on hold. All right, this is wonderful. Let's bring him in. I mean, friend of the country, friend of the program, friend of the company, friend of the... To everyone out there, the great Mel, hyper junior. Mel, I say this with happiness in my voice. Happy football season. Well, it's already started a few weeks ago, guys. So we're just catching up to the NFLs, catching up the college football. We've been rowing along with... We're in week three, basically. Week zero and then week one. That'll be week two, and NFL will be in week one. But these kids have played some college football and some guys are jumping out and improving. And it's going to be an interesting year to see, you know, who ends up being the top team, because there's so many teams right now that the thought would be looking great. And obviously in the first week or two, you see some struggles. But again, the NFL last year, New England Patriots lost to the Raiders at home. If we remember that game, how that all turned out for the Raiders and the Patriots. So you can't really overreact to early season success or struggles in college football.

17:18It's going to be the same when we start week one in the NFL this year. All right, so let me ask you this, because I mean, you're Baltimore guy, Big Ravens fan. You've seen the ins and outs have had that organization is run successfully, or even when they haven't. What do you think about John Harble? Is this a home run higher that almost can't miss for the Giants? Or I mean, I know a lot of Baltimore people don't love him at the moment. What's your take on this? Well, I think John, certainly in Baltimore, you have a successful run because of the organization. Steve Bishaddi is an outstanding owner, does a great job. And then you have Eric DeCosta. Ozzy Newsom, Eric DeCosta, to phenomenal GMs. And Eric learned from Ozzy. He learned from Phil Savage. So Eric, that they believe in, you know, basically elevating from within. They don't like to go outside the organization. And that's the way they've always been with Steve. He's kind of modeled the Raven organization after the Dallas Cowboys. You know, he grew up like we did. We're at the same age as Steve, and I talked about it. He wanted to be, you know, a merchant's in the owner and Texheram and Jill Brandt and Tom Landry.

18:19He wanted to maintain continuity. He understands how important that is. Unfortunately, guys, the league doesn't. And a lot of people don't. I think people underestimate, you know, continuity in systems and being in the same system for a period of years and not changing coordinators and changing offenses and defenses every year and how that impacts players. And I think people just, you know, oh, this guy's struggling. He's terribly, what position? What did they put the player through? Nobody ever really goes back and looks at that. And you're really, and I know scouting departments do. I know Eric DeCostle will look at that. So, okay, we missed, but why do we have this team missed? Why did they miss? You gotta evaluate that. And normally it gets back to, you know, continuity and consistency. You learn a new language every year. You're gonna have problems. If you want it, once you master that language, you don't want to change it. So for me, I think with Harbon and Baltimore, he benefited from the way they go about their business. And that certainly helped John immensely. Mel Kiber Jones is here in the show. Mel, you had mentioned it. Just going back to what you said about college football, starting up and everything else.

19:20I mean, was there a team or player that kind of jumped out? And I know it's only, I mean, it's early, but still, was there someone or team specifically that jumped out? Yeah, it's early, but Jayton, my oboe, the quarterback at USC granted you're playing kind of pitching catch early on, but the complete 90% of your passes and they'll look so good, throwing the football. I mean, that kids effortlessly can make any throw you want. At the off platform throws, he's been really good at. And he scans the field and boy, I tell you, he looks like an even good at UNLV before he got to USC. And then he became, he's become a really good quarterback. And we'll see, he's got that San Jose State, Fresno State's got a lot of things. He got a lot of fiat, Rutgers, but he's got Oregon. Yet it ended a month, Oregon. Then he's got Washington. He's at Penn State. He's got Ohio State at Indiana. There's going to be some challenging games that we can really evaluate Jayton, my oboe, to say, okay, is he, in fact, just benefiting from pitching catch against, you know, a blow average teams, or can he get it done, you know, with all these freshmen now,

20:21that he's got a wide receiver and tied in. They'll be maturing by the time we get to those tougher games. And he's going to need that because he is surrounded by some really talented kids, but they're young. So I think Jayton, my oboe, with the kind of physical ability he has. And now the experience now at USC, after looking pretty good as I said, at UNLV early on, he's the kind of guy who could jump right up there and Sam Levin. When we see the continuation of Sam Levin at LSU, they dominated Clemson. Let's see how Sam Levin does. Does he do with LSU, Jayden Daniels and Joe Burrow, but they were in that offense two years. He's going to be there this year. We'll see what happens. He has a great year and he comes out after what we saw at Arizona State when he was healthy. Sam Levin jumps into that discussion with Archin, Dante, and Carr, and all the other guys we talked about back in a few weeks ago. Well, Kyle Virginia with us here on ESPN, New York, and MSG TV. All right. So Rick and I had this conversation earlier today. I'm perplexed, confused at why it's still my question. It's Kate Klobnik is the backup quarterback for the Jets. Does it make sense to you or do you have the same questions?

21:24Well, you would prefer to have the guy in place that is where they established, at least at a chance that like Tritbesky was brought in to Tennessee because he has a number two pick overall. Didn't get it done at the bear, so level I wanted. They moved on. You bring him in. I think you would like that somebody to like that in that position. But then look at the Ravens. The Alfa Niano from Connecticut comes in, undrafted free agent and lights it up. And it gets, well, it's against the, it's against, you know, the guys are going to be on a team and then week two comes long. He does the same thing, week three, same thing, and all of a sudden there you go. So sometimes you can catch lightning at a bottle and for Cade, there's obviously talent there. And I was talking to somebody in the league yesterday about the Clemson. Climb all that talent Clemson had last year. And we thought they would be maybe playing for a national title, not only club nick, but Adam Randall with the Baltimore Ravens running back from receiver to running back. They had the receivers. They had Blake Miller on the old line. They had the front four linebackers and all that. These fence of backs, they had it all. They had stars at all these different positions and they didn't get it done.

22:24And then you see the 51 to three outcome there. So it's something going on. I mean, that was going to get heavier into the portal. But to the club nick point, club nick has talent. It's just like I say last year. It just did not come together for that Clemson football team. But he was a legitimate, dull threat quarterback. He kind of really moved. He's a tough kid. So there's some things to work with with Cade, club nick. So I guess the year of the judges say, okay, if we got to put in what's to see what we have, we have to know what we have by the time we get to April. Because then you're going to go back and get a quarterback. What if you catch like in a bottle of club nick? What if he gets a chance to play? And week five, six, seven, and he shows really well. Then you have a decision, mate. Anybody think Brock party was going to be Brock party? So to me, you know, that's what you have to say. And that's kind of the decision. Cleve was going to have to decide when should do it. At the end of this year, they're starting with lots and you'll see how that goes. You've got to know what these young quarterbacks can do. That they show you any promise that you can maybe go with them as opposed to an unproven guy coming out of college. It looks great, but he did it in college. And we see a lot of those guys that go in the first round,

23:26you know, top 10, top 15s that are chewed up and spit out pretty early. Right, Mel, but the only thing I would say about the whole Brock pretty thing is you're talking about Kyle Shannon. It actually my first thought with them going with club nick as their backup was that maybe Aaron Glenn's seat isn't as hot as we all think it is. Well, I think when club nick, you have to see it's an organization. You have to be able to see what he can do. And you know, you go into April and you're an unknown. You're going to draft the quarterback again. We had Sam Donald, you direct the Zach Wilson. We gone this route before we talked about this over and over again. You as an organization, you got to be realistic about what your team is. Then you have to look at the young quarterback. And if you see these guys around the league, sometimes they show well early on. Club nick played a lot of college football. Yeah, he was an experienced kid coming in. So to me, find out what you have. Would you rather have Club Nick out there, you know, playing this year, seeing what he has or some journeyman backup that is doesn't have a future with the organization, but can, you know, go out and maybe be respectable. Well, why couldn't Club Nick be that? Why can't a young quarterback be as good as the guy that's the journeyman?

24:28He's a journeyman for a reason and let the young kid show what he can do. Young kids have played pretty well on this league. At least that you can at times catch lightning in a bottle. So what would you rather have Club Nick out there, or would you rather have a guy that has no future with the organization as just a career backup and that best and maybe even marginal with that? So I think there's some nuance to that question though. Like God forbid something happened at a Gino Smith in a week two. Don't want to see Kate Club Nick for 15 or 16 years. If you're Aaron Glenn. Yeah, if you're moving, well, if you're moving, you feel like, okay, I'm going to be the one responsible for making this next quarterback pick regardless. And yeah, I'd like to see Club Nick. But if I'm Aaron Glenn fight for my job, does that give me my best chance to win? So that's the point, Mel. Like, am I a pull? I want to see Club Nick this year. If I was a Jetsfin, I would want to see him. I wouldn't want to necessarily see him thrown into the mix immediately. Like I want to wait for the time and place before I could put him in. That's my take. Well, I think it depends upon how things go, which you know, how it goes with a football team. And then you make a decision. That's what everybody's going to do. So Cleveland's going to be doing the same thing with the Shawn Watson. When did they stick with the Shawn?

25:30Does he earn the right to be out there each week? Are they playing good football? Or do they go to Shedor? And see what he can do knowing that April is going to be coming up and we got to make a decision. So again, that's what teams have to be thinking about. You have to think organizationally. What do we have to do here to become April? If you have Club Nick and he has not played, then you're going to draft the quarterback. It's, you know, so okay. So you have to, you know, Smith, you're going to draft the quarterback. What if Club Nick is the guy? He shows enough in 7, 8, 9, 10 weeks of playing in the NFL to say, hey, yeah, we took him into fourth round. We ended up with a guy that can play. You know, like I said, I can give you a lot of examples of guys like that that play pretty well in the NFL, an act of a career in the NFL that people didn't think was going to be the guy. And there's plenty of examples. Guys, you thought was going to be the man. They turned out to be nothing but a disappointment. So there's no perfect formula for this guy's. All I'll say is I would want Club Nick to be out there at some point this year. Unless you know, as a great year and you can't give him off the field, but you will, you have to see in games that matter whether Club Nick shows anything.

26:31And it's unfair to say that because if obviously he's out there, he's with a bad team. They're going to be up there top of the track. He's not getting the supporting needs and it's going to be hard to evaluate him anyway. But if he shows enough and if you get lucky, unfortunate, maybe you have something there. But I would hate to see this season come to an end without seeing what Club Nick could do. I think he's going to be out there at some point. Just like an ancient door is going to be out there at some point for Cleveland. Mel Ciper Jr. is here on the show. Mel, so you had mentioned Trebuski with Tennessee. So big match up for me as a Jets fan week one, right? And then we go into the NFC North. I was at the opinion that Cam Ward with Brian Dable, they bringing in Carl Tate was going to have kind of that breakout season too. But you're not hearing great things coming out of Tennessee. Should you be? I mean, is there a concern about Cam Ward going into the season? Well, here's another example. What I'm talking about. I led this whole conversation off with continuity. And that was the same thing with the previous quarterback comes in, new offense, second year new offense. It these quarterbacks had usually had problems. It's being able to they don't look like they're making progress or regressing.

27:33It's because we're changing things. And when then we're expecting once the change takes place that these kids will be figuring it out, getting the offense down and getting the timing. If you're not sure about what you're doing, how are you going to be worried about what everybody else is doing? So as a quarterback, you have to realize whatever you tell those other 10 guys you're going to be doing. And then you're confident, well, you know what you're doing. If you're not positive and confident what you're doing, how you going to worry about anybody else and then figure out the defense. So we're expecting guys way, way too much from it. It's been this way. It's unrealistic expectations for quarterbacks who change systems every year. And some of these kids change them every year in college. But that's college. When you get to the NFL, it's not going to work. You might have got buying college with that, but it's still not good. If you look at the quarterbacks that success, it's being in the same offense. You look at these guys, they say, well, why does Josh McDaniels, the quarterback whisper, why is this one? Because they had guys and they worked with guys. So to me, changing things and like I said, for Clay Cammore, now he's got to figure it out again. Okay? Now he's got to go through it again. Well, it's going to take some time. He's got the young receiver take coming in.

28:35He's got pieces around him that are new. But we're expecting Cammore to be perfect and it's not going to happen. So again, it's unfortunate. We're not doing great things back here. Well, that should be expected. Interesting. Let me ask you about the Rams. I know they're going to be good. Everyone knows they're going to be a good football team. They are the pro-hibitive favorites to win the whole thing. Should like, do you look at that? It's Rams and everyone else. Do you think we're overblown the Rams a little bit? No, you're not. The talent on that team is outstanding and they got the quarterback. If he stays healthy, Matthew Stafford is the Hall of Fame quarterback. And he is a big time player. So when you got a superstar quarterback, then you have and he's already done it once. They did it when they went to LA and beat the Bengals. Not that long ago, with Stafford. And they got talent and they got a lot of good things. They know this team's built for now. And then they did. And they kind of went back to the draught. They built that one year for Stafford to say, okay, we're going to do it this way. We're not going to worry about the draught. We're going to go get some guys and they did it. That was what Lesney did. But it didn't fall apart after that.

29:36So Gipsney credit. Everybody thought it was going to fall apart. They were going to have to go way back down to the bottom, the ladder and then come work the way back up. It didn't work that way. They maintained it. So Gipsney credit. He proved all those doubters and skeptics wrong. So for the Rams, yeah, I just didn't go with the chalk. I didn't want to go that way. So I went with the Cowboys and the Bengals a little bit different. But in the NFC, again, you're right off the sea, where do you go for a surprise team? Was Detroit going to bounce back? Is Green Bay has always been a popular pick when you talk about the Super Bowl and then predictions that go along there. You know, right off the other side of the sea seems kind of wide open. Nobody saw New England coming last year in the AFC and look what happened with Rae Bowl and what's right, May. And that's why the Giants with Harball and their young quarterback, Jackson Dart, are the trendy pick as people have a lot of you and you're out in the summer, oh, the Giants are going to be the Patriots of this year.

30:36Well, that's why they played the games. That's why the NFL and College Football is so fun to watch and so entertaining. You just don't know. You get shockers once in a while. New England was a big shocker considering they lost to the Raiders at home opening week last year. And nobody thought after that game would have been talking after a week one wish. I don't think you were mentioned in the Patriots as baby being the Super Bowl team. So again, you never know. But I went with the Cowboys. We'll see. They'll bang up, you know, now going into the year. We'll see how they do. But I think they'll be there at the end. If their defense can be just, I wouldn't say significantly, but improved with that offense. I, you know, Dallas is going to be a factor and certainly in terms of the playoffs and do some damage. So we'll see how it goes. But there's no reason to believe the Ram shouldn't be the favorite. They should be labeled the favor going into the year. This is why Mel is so good because you don't even have to like the questions just come to you while he's speaking. Mel, so you mentioned the whole cam ward thing learning in new offense. Jackson, dark same deal. Right. Going into a second year learning in a new offense. Yeah. This isn't Josh McDaniel's right. It's Matt Negi. Are you concerned a little bit that it may look, it may look a little bit slow to get the seasons rolling here?

31:42Well, you know, always going to wait and see on any of the team that has a lot of players and then John's coming in and they're trying to get it together and darks trying to figure out how he's going to play. Now not being as aggressive. Let's see how he plays. Let's see what happens. And again, you just don't know. You know, Drake May wasn't that kind of guy going into year two. Jackson, darks got to learn from what the mistakes he made last year in terms of realizing you can't be thinking of Josh out there. Josh has survived a lot of years and his leg being aggressive, taking its quarterback. They 65 to 45. So again, you got to wait and see on Jackson. I hope he's learned. I think he has. But if he's out there, he gives you a chance. But obviously, let's see if the way he goes about his business is a little bit different this year and there was last year. Mail at standing stuff as always. I got to tell you, I'm going to make sure to bring up this Cowboys prediction to the Super Bowl when it fails a lot. I'm sure it probably will fail. I just don't want to go with the obvious. So you try to pick a team or two that there's a little bit different, a little bit of a curve ball that has some things that need to fall into place.

32:47And if they do, they could be. If they don't, then we'll be talking about the Cowboys. It's just a big disappointment again. It was overrated and overhyped. So I guess that's why I can say these predictions, they go by the boards. But it's always nice to revisit them. I'm sure you guys will throw it back to my face. No, no, not you guys. No, no. Good little Christmas present will be my Cowboy prediction when we're talking about the week before Christmas. So that's a reminder of that guys. A lot. So you guys, this guy, I promise you. I promise you. I promise you. Well, I get next week you remind me about your predictions for the year. I can jot them down and we can go toe to toe with right here on what you guys know. Oh, that's all I don't know. I don't have the Cowboys going to the Super Ball. I'll start with that. Mel, next week I'll give you some of my boldest and brightest predictions. Boy, if neighbors doesn't play, I think all bets are off to the expectation for the giants in this game. Oh, no, I don't think all expectations are off. You don't compete, but I mean, yeah, I think that's the lose him. And it changes. I mean, that you're starting receivers with like what? Mooney and Beckham. Yeah. Barrios. Are you got likely? You're going to run the football? No, I know. I'm not saying they can't move the football. I don't think Dallas's defense is all that great. I think the giant's offensive line will be pretty good. But if you lose that weapon. Right. Because remember, those two guys have barely played together. Yeah. I think you just, if you look at the matchup, just take the fact that it's the Dallas cool Dallas Cowboys out of this for a second, right? And we don't, we won't know what their defense looks like until we actually get a chance to see it. We've heard, you know, the names Caleb Downs, all these different things that they've done during the soft season, we improve what was, I mean, historically, maybe one of the worst defense has you ever seen. It was awful. It was as bad as you've ever seen. Yes. The other side of this thing would be if you look at these two teams and you say to yourself,

37:51what's the best unit going into this game? Dallas's offense. Dallas is a great. Like if you asked a hundred people, that's the same thing. Dallas's offense is very good. Right. So how does, how does your defense stack up with Dallas's offense? I think the key to this game is can the Giants front four get pressure on the quarterback? Right. But that's also the running game too. Which they, I mean, you're talking about last season Giants were what, second worst in football stop in the run. It was almost a hundred and fifty. There was a buck forty five. I think they have a joke for five years. Yeah. Harry, allow it. Last year, the Giants run defense was like historic. Right. Right. So now if you can do like if Dallas goes into this game and now they can do both, which is they can run the ball. And now you're talking about CD lamp and George Pickens and questions about your secondary. The that's a concern. And now I got no Malik neighbors on the other side. And now we're talking about going up and down the field to concern. Don't love your chance. Well, you want to shorten the game, right? Like you want to run the ball. 100% short pass is, you know, again, I'm not a post Jackson's art taking off and running.

38:54I just don't want like that to be the focus of the offense. Yeah, I don't think his athleticism is I'm fine with that. I think that the concern with that is when you're trying to change a habit, when all of a sudden now there's some adversity or you're trailing or when the bullets start really flying, do you revert back to what you were? Which is, you probably, I would say probably. Yeah. Like that's going to take some time to get out of a system. So if you're in the midst of this game going back and forth, back and forth, then you don't feel like the defense can stop anyone because Dallas is off and says that good. And now you put Jackson, you know, Jackson Dart in a situation where he's fighting for his life. I guess what Jackson Dart's going to do. Fighters like to do the things that we've seen him do, right? Especially if I got no job. I mean, well, you can't, you have to be smarter than that. And John Harbaugh has been in this league for a long time and you're the coach at the team. Well, you've seen it. I mean, he's out of, I think that with how he's handled training camp, how hard it's been. And then on top of that, you can clearly tell the way the players react to him, even like going back to the scatter of who stuff. John Harbaugh is a pro. He's been doing this for a long time.

39:54He knows how to talk to the media and at the same time, making sure he's getting his point across. Like, he'll defuse a situation and then you know for a fact, just because you're at scataboo talk about it. Like he's, he's making sure he handles these things. He's having all and they adult in the room. They're rated. And in that, I mean, you get the benefit of that when you've been with the team for 18 years and want a Super Bowl and have the kind of success that he's had, that you can walk into a locker room and everyone trusts that you know what you're doing. That's why the giants were desperate for him. Yeah, right. But it's why teams that are dysfunctional, like the giants of Ben, like the jets are, like need a coach to come in like that. Right? It's on more of the same, like I don't want to spend time trying to figure out if you know what the hell you're doing or not. Like I already know you know what you're doing. So any of you tell me, with now that's without getting results first. Right? Like there doesn't, usually what comes in here with his reputation proceeding. Right. Like usually like with a coach that's never done it. Even if he's been a great defensive coordinator or a great offensive coordinator, but never been a head coach, like it's still, you're still trying to figure out who he is. He's trying to figure out who he is. So all the stuff that he's telling you, you want to believe it, but I'm not necessarily going to believe it until I see a payoff with hardball, even if you struggle early or even if, yes,

40:56you know, because he's had that track record that it's going to work. So I'll live with all the hard practices. I'll go, okay, coach, yep, I'll do all these things he's telling me to do because I've seen it work in Baltimore. You know, I think I think it was in the ironic thing. As remember, the player last year was like, we need a coflin type. Yeah, that was Slayton. We said that right. Gone. That was Slayton. Yeah, we said that. Let's go to production business. Oh, I mean, that's what it comes out. I get it, but I mean, you're still paying a lot of money. Forgot I wouldn't even be on the team now. I think you're going to save three million, but I mean, what does that mean? Trying to win football out of all heck of a lot. I mean, if he was worthwhile, he'd keep him on the team. 42:00I'm not convinced that he's going to be the guy. It's a great sport. Listen, Calvin Austin getting hurt is not great. He got mooney and then likely is going to be a big part of this. She runs the hell out of the football and then neighbors is going to be back. Right, neighbors is going to be back. It's just trying to manage soon. Yes. It's trying to manage how you ease him back in, recognizing how important he is to this whole thing. And Malachi feels it's going to be good. I like Malachi. I feel a lot. It's a great blocker, which great hand right into what they're trying to do. He's a catch radius. You take the ball up and let him go get it. No, I understand why there's optimism for the giants. I'm optimistic for the giants. I think everyone's optimistic for the giants. I think what John Harbott does is he raises your floor. Yes. Right? I mean, that's what we talk about all the time. It's not going to look the way it's looked. No, not going to be a professional run. Three or four games. No, or three games. But remember, though, is high as these expectations are, you are still talking about a team that very easily could have the first overall pick in the draft. That's how bad it was. I wish they had. Yeah, you wish you did. You're right. So on the flip side of that, you very easily could have been a seven or eight win. I know. But I don't know how transferable that is.

43:00You're also talking about a coach to struggle with the same stuff in Baltimore. Like, hold not to leave. Close and all games. So I mean, that's with an MVP quarterback. All right. Well, then you wind up with four. And now we take it for you. No, but I'm not saying that it's four either. I'm just saying like I think it, like, the expectations now are so high because Harbor came in here is that you for like, oh, they're too high? Are they too? Yeah, they're probably too high just because I think it's unfair. So I think it's going to be better. They're going to be a better football team. So my my eight win hope slash expectations. I always, I'm always I'm always of the opinion under promise and overperform. Just so you're not like, you're not going to be disappointed that way. Like if you said, Hey, it's going to be better. We won, you know, we won four. We probably could, it could have been six, but it also could have been two. Right. If we get to six or seven, or we're heading Jackson, dark looks good. We're heading the right direction. But you go like, I think you're fine going eight. But then there's people like nine, 10, the chance to be one of the last. That's great. That's great. I never say anything like that.

44:00No, I know, but that's crazy. But that gas is people up. I'm not saying you right. Well, I think you had Orlov'skin chef there. San Jose, the giants could be a playoff caliber. But they get all gased up in you. But as much as I love John Harbaugh, and I think he's going to be, he's going to do a great job here. I do also recognize the fact that over the last how many years he's had one of the best players in football that's one, two MVP's and never got to a Super Bowl. And one of the most talented teams. Um, what happened over the weekend I thought was disgusting in that Michigan game. Uh, I don't understand how that can be. Uh, you know, what do you mean you're keeping a different clock on the field than you're keeping on the scoreboard? What's it? I've never, I've never heard of that. No. How was that? You have now, but you have now it felt like the big guy taking advantage of the little guy. That's what it felt like. The big powerful Michigan and another thing too, by the way, the storming to field in Michigan. It's crisis of a beat Western. Making the storming field. I mean, I guess when you thought the game was over and then you find out that we have one more shot and it ends up being the game was over. A, a, a Hail Mary that works is. Yeah, you celebrate. I mean, that was awful.

46:02Yeah, awful, awful. Could you imagine, hey, Christopher, um, could you imagine if that hadn't happened? What the Michigan fan base would be doing? They'd be apoplectic. They're actually so. Yeah, look, and even listen, that win is the worst win you've ever seen. They looked awful in that game. Yeah, I don't wonder what he hasn't, you know, developed that awful last season. I don't know how much money they paid him. I think he made between 10 and a half and 12 and a half. It's crazy. He was going to go to somewhere in the SEC. I think, I think, I think Dave, I know he got involved and got him to go to Michigan and put up some money to go to Michigan. And he stinks. Oh, it has nothing good. No offense. They're horrendous. It was, it was, they, they looked, current, they got beat. Like it wasn't like one of those like, oh my god, Western Michigan was the better team in that game. I would agree with that. Yeah, listen, I watched a lot of college football. I mean, there were, there were a couple games like Notre Dame didn't look good in the first half. And then they won by actually five thirty. Right. They think they've actually figured out. Which is what you typically see. Typically what happens in that never, that never happened for Michigan.

47:04So I mean, was it gross? Yeah, it was gross. And I also think that maybe if, you know, if the clock is right, you know, maybe in that situation, you don't touch the like it, you don't touch the football. No one that you already stepped out of bonds or maybe you didn't know he stepped out of bonds. Like if it, because you're, why me? You're paying attention. You just let it go. But I mean, listen to their credit as bad as it was and as bad as the ruling was, they had a second and they still had the complete. I mean, how many times you throw that pass? 100,000? You're completely none. Right. You're completely none. The guy makes a great play and they end up winning the game. I mean, it's unfortunate the way I have terrible. And it sucks for Western Michigan. But now with the grand scheme of things, it won't affect the Western Michigan anyway, because they could still be one of those, you know, non-power different teams that they've been playing. Yeah, but still, I mean, talking about, it's a program changing. They should. They should. Huge win. Just taken away from you. It felt like it was stolen. Yeah. It felt like it was stolen. Could you imagine the jets of the giant something and like that? We'd be taking 50,000. Imagine if my kids 11-year-old hockey team lost the game like that.

48:05You would lose your mind. The referee says that to me the day. Blatin off sides like five feet like blatant, but he was so late that had they missed it. But he was so late because he's late to the play. He's not skating up, right? Misses it. They get a shot on net, goes up, hits the post, we end up coming, but he almost like legitimately wants one the net. And he's like, ah, yeah, it's my fault. I got the I missed the off-size. I was like, well, okay, so that was your fault. What happened if that puck went on the net? He's a good one of goal. Okay. So you missed the off-size. That would have still been a goal. Yeah. Well, thanks for officiating. Thanks for the apology. Thank you. Appreciate that. That would have helped me out. So I haven't apologized. That right. Exactly right. Why haven't apologized to me? You know, you missed it. Right. Cost me a goal. Well, you know what he should have said. I'm gonna say, no, that would have gone in on. Yeah, I would have, well, I would have blew it. Thanks. I know. That didn't happen. No, he wouldn't. He wouldn't have been able. Yeah. You want to talk about the LSU guys? Yeah. I'm so confused by this whole thing. I am perplexed. Like, what's your in the NFL? Well, okay. Here's how it, here's how you go back and then to play college football because they had eligibility left. And I mean, let's face it, the reason why you couldn't in the past was because you weren't on having agent, right? And you weren't on to get paid. Right. Which are two things that are not existed.

49:06Right. So in the NHL, if you're in junior, which isn't considered college, it's different. But kind of the same thing now because junior guy, you get paid in junior hockey. You can play nine, you can actually play in the NHL. You can play up to nine games and then go back to junior. No, junior. Okay. But now that's all skewed anyway because now you can go to junior and then go play college. Right. All things changed because there's money involved now. Before it was because there was no, you didn't want to, like I couldn't have an agent in VL, I had to have a family advisor. It feels like they're making this up on the floor. The problem with college football is in the NFL is there is no minor leagues for football. So if I'm undrafted and I decide, hey, I'm ready to take that next step. But I still have a key at you, a year of eligibility left. Right. And then I go and I don't make a team. Now what do I do? Now I'm screwed. You're S.O.L. Right? Because there's no minor league. So football is the minor league system. So it's not about money. Is it still at your feet? And they're like, no, but they're like, oh, but they're, they've already played with pros. Yeah, but Jeremiah Smith has been in an NFL for the last two years. Malachi Tony could be in the NFL. Like, just because they went to training camp, doesn't mean they're pros now.

50:08Yeah, no, I get your point. They went to training camp. But why would you go to training camp? Why not? If you have more eligibility, just go to see if you're ready. See if you can make the team. That I think I make the team. Okay, but now you're trying to make the team. I would think with the thought process of, if I don't make the team, now where do I go? Right. Now I go back to college. I wouldn't be opposed to having it like the NHL. We get drafted. We can bring you to training camp. If we don't think you're going to make the team, it's a better for us to have you go play, go back to college. Go play. We're not talking about amateur status. I mean, it doesn't pay it anyway. It doesn't benefit anybody by having kids that have eligibility left that have nowhere to go. No, no, no play. Right. That makes no sense. Or just going to sit in the practice corner. I'd rather have you go play, especially for the unquarterbacks. But I guess the thought processes, you're wrong. The dice by going into these training camps, you're taking that leap into the deck. Right. But the whole argument that they're pros now, well, what do they mean? Because they practice with pros. They play in preseason game. Why is that make them pros? They're guys playing college football right now. They could easily step into the NFL and play for the team. And then they have these rules.

51:09And I kind of get it, right? You have to have three years out of high school. So Jeremiah Smith has to go back to Malachi Tony. Right. But he's only the second year. You gotta go back two more years. But I'm saying like he could play. You could take him now and he could play. And he's 18. So I don't know. I guess I guess I get it. And college basketball is even worse. And now, I mean, LSU is going to bear the breadth of this because of who their coach is and everything else. Of course. If it wasn't them, someone else was going to do it. And then there's going to be a lawsuit between the conference and the game. That's ultimately why they won't do it. Because they're scared of. Because the penalties that eventually eventually, if this thing gets straightened out and then on the wrong side of it, they're going to get huge punishments from the asses. Huge. It's not worth it. Right, especially for those guys. I bet with they've beaten Clemson at the head, they're like those guys. That's what he said. Yeah. He knew exactly who he was doing. But he plays it perfectly. Lane Kiffin is the perfect. He is such a small me. He is the perfect villain. He loves every second. Yeah. You heard what he said too. He's like, I've been in that locker. It's awful. They asked me if I wanted to speed it up and go. No, we'll go 90 minutes. Let them sit in that locker as long as they can. I mean, it's, it's, it's destroyed them.

52:10When you're talking about the amount of money that you're talking about with the NIL, how much these schools are paid, how much lane Kiffin and staff is getting paid, it's about winning. So if you can, if you can find a loophole in the rules to make your team better, I just think it sucks for the kids. But because they're not typically the way we're, but we keep pretending like this is like, they're not student athletes anymore. No, they're pros. No. And in this sport, like, this is the minor leagues now. There is no, hey, I didn't make it so I can go play in the G league or I didn't make it. I go play in the HL. This is like, if you don't make it, you're screwed down in football. So if I could go back with a year of eligibility and actually make some money to play college football, what do we, it's not dangerous. It's not dangerous. No, like, but you, if you want to, like, they're pros. Why? Because they went to a training camp. I guess the point is what point do we, when do we stop this? Right? So you could do whatever you want. Well, the trickle down effect is the trickle down effect is, you know, like, can you see in this and hockey now that they've allowed kids that go play major junior to come play college? I don't think BU has, I don't think BU's incoming class is one American kid.

53:14Like why, so like they, like they have recruiting process now has changed so much to the transfer portal. I mean, it has to go from high school to now all of a sudden, like, get a D1 opportunity is like right out of high school is like, it's almost gone. Almost impossible. So now if you decide you want to go to training camp and leave and now this person thinks they're going to get a, oh, I got a spot and this guy's like, why did I make this team so I'm coming back?
