This is the D.P.H. Rowan with Rutherburg Podcast. Hello, Mati! Listen live weekday mornings from 6 to 10 am on 880 ESPN in New York, the ESPN New York app, or on your smart speaker by asking it to play ESPN New York. Alright, final half hour of the show. We made it, y'all. I will say, listen. Listen. I'm not sensitive. People come at me, it's cool, it's all love. So I do give credit when folks pull up with something funny, even if it becomes at my expense. So when Rick sends the text that he sent, that was very nasty. And Jolio, now that you are made privy to the text he sent, you would agree that you're going to scale a 1 to 10, like that's at 25. Yes, yes, sorry. Yeah, that was nasty. And so when you come at me with something funny, it's cool, so Jean in the chat says,

this man he's talking about me, of course, has a horrible beer. No connection. Patchy. Great radio host though. People coming at my, that's my beard look terrible. I just got the fresh cut a couple days ago, shout out to my man being a phone. Yeah, it looks lined up. Yeah, it's all lined up. Fine. Shout out to your man being on the kids. We got to get their cut on Wednesday because school starts Thursday. And we've allowed them to grow their hair out the entire summer. But it's game time, baby. Noah's going to kindergarten. So what's up from here? Maverick's going to pre-K. And so we got the haircuts lined up for Wednesday. I'm a little sad. And this is a weird place to be in because a lot of parents out there are as happy as can be. School just rolled back around because it's like, man, get these kids back to school. But I'm a little sad because I've actually enjoyed like the bonding time this summer.

Around the work schedule, getting a chance to do some things. Even if it is as simple as like Noah's been, Noah was heavily into the workup. He's a big messy fan. And so something as simple as like going to the park, kicking the ball around and pretending to be, you know, soccer stars. Not that it goes away, but obviously, you know, doesn't exactly fit into the calendar when it comes to school being around, back around, and we're hitting fall in the cold of months. So I'm a little sad. I'm a little sad about that. But anyway, back comes the traffic, but also back comes the football. If I pose this to you guys, and I guess it's just Ray because Joe Leo answered this question earlier and by earlier, I mean two days ago, football season, it's here two days away. Carlos football on the way.

If you are in a survivor pool, and I say cuddle, marry, trash, these options for week one selections. You've got the Jags hosting the Browns. You've got the Lions hosting the Saints. You also have the, let me find it. I just lost it. Why are you betraying me? Oh, you also have the Chargers hosting the Cardinals. So Jags hosting the Browns. Lions hosting the Saints. Chargers hosting Cardinals for your week one survivor pool selection. How do we cuddle, marry, trash, this? Okay, so we're marrying for sure Jaguars Browns. Which is I know when I talk. Yeah, excellent. We're marrying that. Who's got the Saints? Did you say the Lions? I'm a cuddle that one, and then the last one is... Chargers Cardinals? I'm going to take that back. I'm going to cuddle Chargers Cardinals and trash the

Lions Saints. The thing that worries me about the Chargers is they always have that one dumb game a year. They have several dumb games a year. It's a... Could I see them being upset by Arizona? I don't know. Arizona's a team that's a little... They've got some offensive weapons. Offense? Yeah, I mean, they've got a lot of offensive weapons on offense. But I wonder like what their actual plan is. Are they one of those teams that's going through the motions? They're like, oh yeah, we're competing this season, but we're really not for that higher draft pick. We've got this big quarterback class, right? But the Browns are definitely that team. That's the way I see it. So that's why they're there to me. They're a marry. Could you imagine after the training camp he's had, the Sean Washington, he comes out and he just straight cooks to Jags' defense. Like, he's lighting them up. Because here's the thing. I meant to get to this sooner. But we were doing so much during the show.

There's always that upset obviously in week one. We saw last year Raiders Pats. So what's the upset game on week one? Is it Falcon Steelers? Like two or three touchdowns. Rogers looks every bit of 42 and the Falcons win the game. Niners, I think the Niners can beat the Rans. That's not some crazy upset. Like what's the humongous upset we see this week? Panthers beating the Bears? It would be the Browns. It would be the Browns. That's the likeliest of all the upsets. Well, you said the craziest of the outcomes. It's Browns over Jags. Okay, so let me rephrase it. Let's go look at the line. So that'll tell you everything you need to know. Most realistic. How about the commanders beating the Eagles?

Eagles, I could understand that. Points. It could happen. So Sean Manion, no AJ Brown. Oddly enough, Ty, oddly enough, the biggest spread is Chargers Cardinals. Yeah, it's 10. That's wild. So like just what do you see potential upset alerts? I'm not touching Falcon Steelers. That's for sure. Rams Niners is a bigger spread than I thought of it. I thought one or two points. Because like I said, the Raiders beat the Patriots week one last year and then one one game the rest of the season. It's crazy to think of it. It did happen. That actually happened. I'm high on Baltimore this year. How do I? Okay, you know what? How are the chiefs favored on Monday night? Oh, yeah. How are the chiefs favored? At home. Both, oddly enough, both quarterbacks coming off of season ending injuries.

That might be your one. I would love for Denver to win that game. Just because my boy Nick would be in shambles. That one jumps out to me. Otherwise. So Broncos over the chiefs. Broncos over the chiefs as an upset. Honestly, I can see the commanders beating the Eagles. Again, it's week one. So everything's on the table. Everything's on the board. Dolphins Raiders could be bad football. Oh my goodness. Sorry, Carlton. Um, he's got that game. Oh, Carlton's calling Dolphins Raiders. That's right. I'm asking. I'm ready. He already talked about how he went down to Miami to scopes them out. Who? How did it look? Not great. Not great. Not great. And the receiver that was a two to at well. Well, yeah, from the Rams got traded back. So here's one thing that I mean, you can feel good about it. Are you feeling like I jail in Tolbert's? Because I was looking at their receiver. Malika Washington, Jalen Tolbert Caleb Douglas.

That's not a serious football team, man. It's not a serious football team. They got my guy, uh, Kamu Kord as the as the backup quarterback. Good trade for them. They're they are not a serious football team. And listen, giant fans could feel good or bad about this, depending on the situation. But when they had the joint practices, the giants absolutely spoke them. Like it was just dominant by the giants. It's like, well, if you're a decent team, you should do that. This team is bad. They are bad. They should be the worst team in football. Wait, so they're over under this year and wins is three and a half. Are you banging the under? It seems just enough. Like, but the two win season, I think I would take it. Two and 15. Well, Joe Lee, one of their wins coming against the Jets. I do think that it's going to happen. Do you can you imagine that happens? I'm sorry, and I'm a big Aaron Glent supporter. At that point, you could just walk about the building. Just go. Okay. So I think I was my superpower really. Here's here's why that's interesting, right? So you take a look at the jet schedule.

And I don't know what week it is. It might be week nine. Let me just pull it up just so I can confirm. All right. Here we go. So the Jets week nine. So here's weeks weeks nine through 12 ready at Kansas City, home for Buffalo at the chargers at Miami by week. And I've made this point before. Obviously, no none of us are signing up or none of us are predicting they're going to win any of those first three games. So you lose the Kansas City. You lose to Buffalo. You lose to the charges. What's the conversation like if they go to Miami ahead of a by week and lose to the dolphins? Plus the conversation and more just fire and brimstone at that point. Like it's over. It's done. It's ever been more over. I think Bricks walking in that office and getting the playbook. He is absolutely close. Thanks for listening to the DPA Crow and Rothenberg podcast. I think they're listening to me.

They're everywhere. I know you're here. Catch the show on demand wherever and whenever you want. You who over here. Just subscribe to us. Rate us and review us wherever you get your podcasts. So it should be fun. Especially because if Ray is doing what he should, he should be going at Dave Rothenberg because we are all in unison believing that the Cowboys are going to win this game. And I think the Cowboys do so convincingly. And once they start O and one, you now look ahead to week two, which by the way, if I'm a Giants fan, I know that follow me on this take for four minutes.

I would be actively rooting for the Rams to win on, what is that, Thursday night? Because I think, and I've said this a couple of times, but for those of you who haven't been here, I think an O and one Rams team is a lot more dangerous than a one-all Rams team. Because there is no way the Rams are starting O and two. It's possible they start one and one, come out the gate, get a nice victory over the vision rival, fill them themselves, and then trap game ish or just taking the Giants lightly, whatever the case may be, they drop that next game. And so they are, you know, not at that point feeling, they're not at 100% locked in doubt in. What to mean is not on the table is O and one, they're losing back-to-back games to start the season, and they fall to O and two. So again, if you're a Giants fan, just buy that logic,

I would be rooting for the Rams to beat the Niners. So that's my Giants prediction. I think they lose to the Cowboys, Jets! Been confident, y'all, said it. They beat the Titans. They beat the Titans. They win one on the North Games. They beat the Browns. They start three and two. We're feeling excited. What that end up, what that ends up leading to? I don't know, but I do feel like we get a nice little three and two start to the season. 899-937-76. My man Richard pulls up from Manhattan. What's up Richard? Hi, you know, everyone gets down on Wells or Sting Wells. Yesterday he goes over two with two walks. I'll tell you, my number nine here that goes over two and two walks every game. I'll take that. Plus he handles the pitches, great calls, a great game, and they're all of a pitching him. I'll take that every day of the week. Wait, so for so much of it, you would take

because that back quite literally means he's getting a batting average of zero the entire season. So you would take... Right, but an on base percentage of 500 that entire season. You would take your catcher having a zero batting average the entire season that you'd sign up at. Right, but three hundred and twenty... with 300 walks. Correct. Zero average and the 300 walks. You give me two walks a game. Two, two, two, two, and two walks. I'll take that. Every game. I think it's an insane game. Okay, well listen, you know, the NFL is playing football in Australia, right? There were crazy ideas in this. So that's my feeling. I'll give you some more crazy ideas. Okay. Let's play yesterday. I haven't seen this ever, but now it's common, I guess. A number two reader is intentionally walked to pitch to the number three header. That is far beyond my comprehension. Well, because you're more afraid of soda than you are

a percent. Okay, but the number three header in my book was always the best header on the team. There's another one in the med game yesterday. It should fact that it's a 2026, my man. Like wake up. Yeah, I'm waking up and I'm noting it. That's why I'm bringing it up. Okay. I'm not just going to let it pass like if it's always common, I have to say something so that it's noted that this is not the usual business, this usual before a hundred years that it's been. Anyway, I've never seen this. It's better to eat off yesterday. And like so times have changed. Put a kick ahead. Richard. I'm. Yeah, no, I understand that this. I'm not questioning times. I'm not regretting anything. And I'm not criticizing it. It's just something that I'm noting. Everything is being noted. Senga, I've never seen this. A picture starting picture who's been terrible. And above eight ERA, he was terrible. They put him in a clothes. The meds put him in a closing roll. He's six to six. He's been successful in nine out of ten outings and relief one inning. Give him one inning. Hey, it's working. I'll bring back Williams as my eighth inning.

And Senga next year. I've never seen that time. Never seen that nor Alicia's. And I'm going to close with one last one for you. You believe in parlase, don't you? The station promotes gambling. Everyone lifts parlase. You've got to do a race track. You can parlay. Correct. Am I correct? Do I believe in parlay? You're going to be cautious in the answer because you're afraid that I'm going to give a ridiculous statement. I just don't understand. What do you believe? A parlay or two? That's true for one. In other words, for instead of something one, we're going to say a two. Sure. In other words, if you ask a girl out, but you got to bring the mother along, that's a parlay. You understand what I'm saying? That's a parlay. Yo, it is. Okay. Call. Wait, what happened? Oh, my God. You said, thank you. Because I thought we were heading to get there because that is the is a hell of a comp. I don't I don't see how that fits by the way. Richard, I apologize. That was that was a accident.

That was a that phone call and look, you expected from Richard, but he that was wild, bro. You going to be where you got to bring some takes. First of all, second, to my favorite Richard take of all time. But I don't even understand. I know that I wish, you know what? My bad. I wish I had a hug. I love to hear that explanation. Yo, Richard, call back, please. And we don't have enough time today. I don't even know where we were going. I'm not sure, either. He's asking me if I believe I don't even understand the question. Do you believe in partlay? Do I believe that you can hit a parlay? Sure. Like I believe in part. See, that's a question for John with the John with their could do those type of things. He's big on the parlay. He puts like five cents down on a parlay. Oh, yeah. He's the king of the 20 leg parlay, right? He didn't hurt him. Bring it her mom.

That's great. So Ray, we talked about your dating and lack of, you know, and lack of not bringing her mom. No, absolutely not. I'm not bringing her mom. I'm not going to date. I would love to meet her mom, but no. All right. You ready for three stars? Oh, I think so. I'll just hit on what you're doing today's three stars. Number three. I mean, first of all, thank you, Ty, for Hint of Sup, happy Labor Day to everybody who's been listening. I hope we've been entertaining to you. I felt entertaining here. I've had a good time, but listen, you asked in the right questions. You feel like you're the king of the station. I can't say those things. I do not believe that. We are on MSG tomorrow. It's all encompassing. It's all coming together. I feel really good about it. Number two. I don't feel good about the awkward segments that we've had to maybe sentences, seconds, whatever you want to call it. Body glide. Yeah. Using the body glide to keep the thighs from shaping very important. It's pretty good in the face. Yeah. Rick is a good looking

man. Yeah, shout out to Missy Elliott. She put that song out all those years ago. One minute man. That's all we need here, play. Ty, that's all we need here, player. I appreciate you, man, because you're not scared. I say just let it all hang. Because that's the type of guy you are. It's the type of host you are. I appreciate you for it. Number one. I mean, we have to just change everything in the last two minutes, because listen, I feel bad about cutting them off. I do. But Richard and Matt Hatton, man. We had some good ones in that last call. Everything is being noted. Everything is being noted. We hit all the, the anything you could think of, batting order, Austin Wells show them a little bit more respect. The one that takes care of everything. How do you deal with a parlay? What is a parlay? How can you describe a parlay? If you ask a girl out, but you got to bring the mother along, that's a parlay. I've never in my life heard a description quite like that one. Thank you, Richard. You kept off Labor Day expertly. Richard, I appreciate you and I'm sorry we cut you all prematurely, my man.

You are a content machine. Shout out to Ray Santiago, one of, if not the hardest working man at the station, tremendous job. Back tomorrow, of course, hanging out with the crew. They'll be back in full form on MSGTV. Shout out to my man, Jo Leo, who is just awesome. And I'm glad to work with him. He was with me Saturday, hanging out with me Sunday. It was an absolute little blast. Shout out to all the people in the YouTube chat. We will end the show here. But at four o'clock, by the way, Jake Astman is going to be on doing his thing, got a bunch of guests. So appreciate you guys for tuning in. Happy Labor Day. Talk to you soon, dude. If you ask a girl out, but you got to bring the mother along, that's a parlay. Thanks for listening to that DPA Hero and Rothenberg podcast. All right, bye bye.
