How to See Infinite Possibilities Instead of Limited Options

"I had no choice", "this is how it has to be", and "it is what it is" - for some people these aren't just statements, these are the basis of their entire reality. 

Rather than seeing themselves as architects with a wealth of choices to shape their lives, they feel resigned to the idea that things are fixed just as they are. No alternatives and no changes.  

This way of thinking goes back to the same place: the old stories we run in our minds become the cages that limit our own lives. It's like we're sitting in a container that shrinks our possibilities, but we can open the door anytime we want. 

In any given situation, there are many possible choices but if our field of view is limited, we'll never allow ourselves to see them. The result? We give our power away to the external world, and feel oppressed by the misery of seemingly being choiceless.
