I gave my fiance a rule when proposing and he ignored it anyway. That's the rule now. My fiance and I talked about getting engaged this year so I knew it was coming. I never had a dream proposal in mind. Just a few things I absolutely did not want, like at home on the couch or on a different

special occasion, etc. I always said I just wanted something that showed him new me and cared to plan it and then it would be perfect no matter what. At first he was so excited and had so many ideas, at least that's what my friend told me because he was running things by her. But many of the ideas fell through for one reason or another and he started to really stress himself out over it. I told him to take it slow because he kept coming back to these huge, insanely expensive ideas. I told him that I didn't need such grand gestures because that's just not me and I thought giving him a few ideas might help point him in a good direction, booking a private tour through our opera house, going to a candlelight concert with a light of thousand candles, booking a fantasy photo shoot for me and turning it into an engagement shoot, etc. By the way this comes from Shelley Fish 04 and if you want to submit your own stories, go to the R-Sly Show, story time subreddit, I'm Dakota. I'm Sophia. I'm Keon. And our job is to read this here story and give advice to you but you should know we don't

know everything because we're just a bunch of goofballs. But tell us what you know. Oh wise one. In the comments. I meant that unsarcastically. I swear. And O.P. says, it was my birthday recently and for my birthday I wished to go to this burlesque and dinner show. Basically you have a four course meal between each course of the meal. There are show segments. Cool. The show was amazing. The performers were stunning and I could go on and on about how much I loved it. After dessert, before the last performance he got down on one knee and proposed. At the burlesque show where they all going, we that is a place. He spelled out happy Mary me in your happy Mary me because it was her birthday. Wait, I'm sorry. The two things she said were not in public and not on us another special anniversary. It's on her birthday. So that's technically in public.

Womp, Womp. He said, wait, I thought you wanted those things. I always thought I would cry and just repeat, yes, over and over again. I was so surprised. Everything felt surreal and I hate to admit it but I felt so disappointed in that moment. I was the one who suggested the show. It was my birthday present so it wasn't even its own thing. And one of the few things I requested was that I didn't want it tied to any other occasion. A specially not my birthday. My brother's birthday is so close to mine that we never got to celebrate independently which is why I am big on separating special occasions. Also, I was the one who made the reservation and booked everything. He didn't even look up what we were going to do because he was very surprised when the performer started taking their clothes off. Did he not know what for less clothes? He didn't look it up. I mean, she was like, yeah, we're going to dinner. He was just like dinner in a show. Dinner in a show. He later told me that he only made the decision the night before because thought we were

already dressed nicely and it would be a good opportunity. What is this guy? The mayor is stupid town. So he was planning all these things and telling your best friend about them or whatever. And then he decided to nix all of them. He said, oh wait, actually, I'm going to do the worst option out of all of those. The worst option. Thoughtlessly doing it around a bunch of topless women. That's not what you wanted. Oh, my bad. Happy birthday. Uh, at first I thought it was no big deal, but then my friend told me about all the other suggestions he had made, which would have been so thoughtful and perfect and people keep asking me how he proposed. I'm trying so hard to be positive about it. But the short version is he took something that I planned for my birthday and turned it into a proposal. Also, they were half naked women everywhere. I loved it. I loved it. Happy birthday. Happy engagement. I don't know what to do. I feel terrible and ungrateful. And part of me is thinking that I should just get over it because at the end of the day,

we love each other and we're getting married. And that should be the only thing that matters. But even though people will eventually all know and stop asking, I still have a couple of occasions ahead where I will have to answer that question. And I can just feel my body tense up and my face freeze. And I hear my voice getting this dishing, genuine tone. And they ask if it was what I wanted. I was like, exactly what I wanted. It's a nice, isn't it? Isn't it a new girl's dream to be proposed at the burlust show? Everybody likes getting proposed at the burlust show on their birthday? Hey, it was limited. I don't think he notices. But I notice that every time I tell the story, it gets harder and harder to ignore that feeling. Tell your fiancee. Yeah, just reduce the course. Reduce. Reduce. Reduce, you say, hey, I love you. I want to get married to you. But that was not it. Let's try again. Yeah. You got to do it again. Run it back. Now you all. You got to go back. Jack, do it again. We all spinning, rounding, rounding.

You go back. Jack, do it again. And then it becomes a funny story where you can say, oh my god, my fiancee. Well, the first time he proposed, it was this, oh my goodness. And I was like, what are you thinking? And then he did it again. And it was beautiful. I know telling him that I was disappointed would make him really, really sad. And I don't want that. But I feel like I might soon reach a point where if one more person asks me how he proposed, and if it was the happiest moment of my life, I'll just start crying. And that would be even worse. I'm in desperate need of some outside perspective, please. And we have an update. Talk to your husband. I mean your fiancee. Talk him. And tell him. To your fiancee. And tell him the truth. Tell him that you want to do it again. Tell him that you want to do it again. If you don't tell your husband, I mean your fiancee, you will not have a fiancee or a husband. Yeah, this is good. You give him a card. You get, you have one redo.

Redoo, redo, redo. I didn't like that one. As many suggested, I started out by saying how much being engaged and getting to marry him means to me. And then I am so excited for this next chapter of our lives, but that there was something that had been weighing on me a bit. I proceeded to tell him how I was disappointed that I was the one who planned the activity and that I had specifically asked for it not to be tied to another special occasion. I told him I was sure he didn't mean anything bad by it, but that I needed to get it off my chest so I could move past it. He actually started laughing. Uh, uh, uh, uh? Not sure I liked that. Not a dismissive laugh, but a genuine one. He said he thought something serious had happened, by the way I was prepping him for the talk. He said that he totally understood where I was coming from and many of you were right and that his thinking was that I had been so hyped for the event. He felt it would be the perfect ending to a perfect night, but he saw how it could be

interpreted as him just piggybacking off my planning. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Sure. As far as the birthday thing, he said that since the event was not on my actual birthday, but two days before and we were having a family party for me and my brother on the actual day, he thought it would be fine. In hindsight, he realized that he could have concluded himself that it's still counted as being tied to my birthday and he apologized for that. Another reason for the spontaneous decision is that we are invited to weddings in June, July, August and September, three of which require traveling on our part. He didn't want the proposal to feel cramped in between. We then talked about the other ideas he had. Some I already knew about others I heard for the first time. Just hearing all these ideas and the thought he had put into them made me feel so loved and special. You don't even have to do them. You just tell me about them. Just gotta tell me about it. And it's like it happened. It's like it happened.

He also made me promise to bring things up straight away in the future even if it's uncomfortable and I'm afraid to hurt his feelings since it's not my job to protect them. It's our job to find a solution. I think it's all right. I think we're okay. I think he's gonna do it again. Go back to it again. I think he's gonna do it again. He's gonna do it a little more less to answers again. Yeah. I think she's gonna say like, oh, I don't need it. Just hearing all this is making me feel better and he's gonna be like, yeah, of course. And you know, I won't do it again. God that we worked it out and then he's gonna do it again. He's gonna, he's gonna propose on your birthday party. Yeah. Since we had now talked about his ideas and he had heard my input on all of them. He offered that for our upcoming anniversary, he's gonna pick and plan one of the activities. So we get to enjoy it as a regular date without the engagement pressure. I'm really glad everything turned out so well. And then the weight I felt is just gone. So now we get to enjoy the whole process together. And that is the end of that story. Okay. It seems like nothing actually changed. But it worked out.

Yeah. I mean, you guys got clear on why he did that. I can admit, I can understand. He's like, it's not on your birthday. So the top of the dances were inside. We were outside. And I mean, hey, she was loving those topless dancers. Don't let her confuse you. Don't let it confuse you for one second. She was all about those topless dancers. You picked the, the experience. This was you outing. You have the great time. All right. We all know you got a feather in your despacho. Okay. From the blessed dancers with the bowels. A feather in your despacho and a ring on your finger. Yeah. That's what they say down in my neck of the woods. Bowrooklin. Something borrowed, something blue. A feather in your canoe. Yeah. Yeah. Robinson, canoe. Robinson, canoe. Possess the end of the story. My roommate's friend is living with us rent-free. And she called me jealous of her situation. Yeah. I'd be too if you're not paying.

I'm 23 female and living with a roommate. 28 female and her friend. 28 female is living in our living room. What? That's not. Do you have a big one? I have a small one. Before I moved in, I was made aware of this person. I was told she was getting back on her feet financially. And she would be contributing to rent and helping cook and clean. Great. Game plan, three months. Are you paying more in rent? Other roommate? She was living there before I moved in. And I moved in in January. Oh, interesting. Wait. But she doesn't pay rent, though. She's on the couch. Not a room. She's on the couch. Well, oh, she was told that she would be contributing to rent and cooking and cleaning. OK. So now approaching the end of May, and this roommate has still not paid any rent. I have been growing resentful as I've asked my roommate several times if she is able to pay rent and have not heard any clear answers and she's not helped. She has a car and office job and works full time.

I have my personal stipulations about living with her, like she probably has the loudest voice I have ever heard late at night. She gossipes, nasty all the time, and leaves her work at a time with her stuff still being in the living room. Dude, no. I would not, I would get out of this lease. Yes. Also, if I was the one not paying rent on the couch, I would be the best roommate ever. Yes. Dude, dinner, everyone's getting dinner, at least. Every time is a week. Yes. If I can afford it. That's what I did when I first moved here. I lived with Senifir a month, and I couldn't, I wasn't paying rent. I was just trying to figure out what I was doing here. And so I cleaned the entire house. I did like each room, like all the time. And I went, I scrubbed. I like did the whole thing. I was like, I don't do anything, guys. Yeah. You got to. And then being like, keeping everyone updated. Hey, two months from now, I'm going to be good. Yeah. She sleeps on a couch bed thing that takes up quite literally the entire living room.

And her stuff remains there. And throughout the living room, the week she's gone. One day, she was telling me about her sugar daddy. And followed up saying, I know it's hard to be jealous of other people who are doing well. Because she knows I'm struggling financially with my minimum wage job. LMFAO, girl, you're in my living room, rent free. Yeah, what? That's what really pissed me off. By the way, this comes from lemon lime perspective. And if you want to submit your own stories, go to the R-slush, OK, story time subreddit. I'm Sophia. I'm Savannah. I'm Riley. And we're here to give good advice, goofly, but we don't have all the answers. We only know what we do. So let us know what you would do in the comments. And OP says, I told my roommate I wanted to start paying rent. And I feel like she is taking advantage of the situation. My roommate basically said she'd ask again, and she'd try. Well, the girl messaged me with a voice note saying that she lives on and off with her parents and their fighting. And she'll do some numbers, because she could possibly help with rent. And she'd be happy to help. I said, I don't want her to live there unless she's paying rent, like, was agreed.

I told my roommate that too, with vague responses. I then told my roommate I was going to involve the landlord. My landlord is extremely kind and has made a plan with me to get back on track with rent. And I expressed that she'll be kind and understanding about the situation, but she probably just want to add her to the lease or have us make a private agreement with her. She told me she would pay money by the end of the month, but I'm done. My roommate has told me multiple times she would do that. I expressed, I don't want to be the one to enforce things in an agreement I didn't even make. And I shouldn't have to get so serious for her to take paying rent seriously. They both were texting me saying, oh, we're all going to get punted out. But I know that won't be the case. I explained the landlord will actually enforce these expectations. So they are just words. Even though I now have promises from them that she will pay is too late. Am I the A-hole? My roommate is extremely kind and lenient to an extreme degree. She expressed to me even that she'd like the roommate to help with rent and to be able to use

the space, but I know she's got a backer friend. My roommate even threatened to find a new place to live. I feel like I'm arguing with children and we've got an update. What do you think Opie should do? I mean, if you want to get the landlord, if you want to stay there, then yeah, get the landlord involved. And they're like, hey, there's a girl who's been living here for months and not paying rent. I was told by whatever this girl that she was going to pay it. Yeah, I've yet to see a penny go towards it. So I don't what do you want me to do here? I personally would do that. And I would also go to the roommate and say, you're going to pay her rent. I also don't know if there's like squatters rights or whatever wherever they are. Not in this situation. It has to involve a house, not an apartment. Oh, really? I don't know that. I just made that up. I don't know. Wow. That's true. Not no. It can involve an apartment, but she

hasn't had the whole law of squatters law. It depends on where they are. In California, you have to be in a place for like five or it's either five or 10 years. There's like a lot of different rules, depending on where you live, about squatters rights. And the place has to be like empty for a while. Yeah, it depends. Update. Not being said, I talked to the landlord today. It went really well. I explained the situation and I expressed my concerns but upsetting my roommate. My roommate also talked to the landlord. The landlord suggested a three way equal split rent agreement. Yes. It would go. I talked to my roommate and was honest about the concerns about the guest and that I did not feel comfortable with her living here anymore. I suggested talking to the landlord and suggested that we can set a deadline for the end of June for her to move out. I thought everything was going well, but just a few minutes ago, I got a call from the girl. She was accusing me of talking behind her back and not telling her I had a problem with her.

Opie's been telling you for a while to pay. I had to ask her to stop talking multiple times. Before I expressed, I did not want her coming at me. And then I asked my roommate for me to be the one to express those concerns. I shared with my roommate earlier that I am on my period and I wanted to wait to talk with the friend. She said, I'm going to scream at her if I talk to her right now. Truthfully, completely understandable. Yeah. I told her I do not want her living here, brought up the June timeline and said I'll talk to her about my concerns when I'm ready and said, good night and hung up. Wow. Nice. That's how you do it. Good for you. Stand up for yourself. Yeah. No one else is. Sure. That really pissed me off. Trying to handle this as well as I can. I mean, I think you did everything right in this situation. You're being very kind about it. You could have just been like, get out or not. And you know, you could have left and then the roommate would have to pay for everything. You know, so I don't know. It's so schemy, though, for the other roommate.

Do you have told Opie, oh yeah, this other girl, we have another roommate? She's paying rent. She's just, you know, she won't be here like long term, though. Yeah. And then be paying half rent for a girl that's taking up. I would have immediately like been like, excuse me. Yeah, I personally, if I had found out that she was not paying rent, I would have immediately said, oh, so you're paying her rent then. Yeah, right? I mean, yeah, that's what I would think, too. But we got a little bit left. Let's get into it. I messaged the two of them saying this, hey, I talked with roommate privately about my concerns, but you living with us, friend, as for space, to share these concerns when I'm ready. I needed roommate to know I did not want to be on the lease with you. I'd like you to share the timeframe that is OK for you to move out. I think the end of June is an appropriate timeframe. If you agree with that, I will let landlord know. I know it takes time to find a new place and want you to have time to do that. The end of June feels reasonable for me.

Landlord will enforce the timeframe. We have agreed upon. I do not want to talk about emotions. But logistics for how you are moving out can be a smooth process for everyone. Thank you. I think the best option is to have the three of us schedule a meeting together with landlord so we can come to a clear and fair agreement. I'm trying so hard to be nice. I am pissed at this girl and I want her off my couch. I think you're doing it well. Let me check if there's enough date. I think OP is handling this situation very well. Like a freaking adult. Yes. I don't understand why you would falsely say, oh, this person is going to read, not read, sorry. He's going to live here. Yeah. And then that's just so icky and weird. Yeah. I don't know. I think you did well and what you did. Yeah. No, I think you handled this very well. Yeah. I have no notes. Shut up. We have no notes. Who are not we? Oh, so OP says, I talked to the landlord this morning and now we have a seven day eviction notice

because there is an unwanted guess in the home. She lives within seven days or we all get evicted. That being said, my roomie is pissed at me. She might not want me to live with. She might not want me to live with her anymore. She is threatening to move out, but also the landlord said, she would help me with payment plan to change our apartments and our complex. OK, so it's not an issue at all except for your roommate and this free letter. Yeah. Yeah. So they're good. They're good. Yeah. Yeah, she said, I made an update post. Yeah, she'll keep us updated. But yeah, so she's good. And that's the end of the story. We're going to read the next one. My new roommate refused to clean a single thing and ruined our entire apartment. I'm evicting her. I share an on-campus apartment with three other girls. And since August, I've basically been the dorm fairy doing most of the cleaning. Last semester, it was just me and two others. And it was manageable. But we got a new roommate in January and things have gone downhill fast.

She plays video games super loudly at night, leaves perishable food out on the stove, and hasn't cleaned a single thing since moving in. During our roommate meeting at the beginning of the semester, she straight up said she wouldn't be cleaning the shower because she doesn't use it. But then complains about crumbs and wrappers being left around. The worst issue is trash. She has a medical condition and wears diapers, which I don't judge at all. But she throws them in the shared bathroom trash without sealing them or taking them out. The bathroom smells awful. And the bags get so heavy they've literally ripped on me before. Girlie, if you got to use diapers, you get one of those little diaper trash cans. Dood yes. Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, come on. Do it. I've had to take that out a couple of times. Horrid. Yeah. The stuff that comes out of people, by the way, this comes from South Section 5188. And if you want to spend your own stories, go to the other side. OK, story time subreddit. I'm Savannah.

I'm Sophia. I'm Sophia. And we're here to figure out who the real Sophia is. It's me. So if you know, you should let us know because we don't know. Oh, man. On top of that, the living room is basically taken over by your stuff. Oh, no. I got tired of cleaning everything while being told the apartment is dirty. So since January, I've stopped cleaning anything except my own mess and taking out the trash. Now the floors are sticky, covered in hair. And there's rotting food in the kitchen and fridge, but no one else is stepping up. What would you do in the situation? Talk to an RA and get the F out of there. I agree. I agree. You can absolutely, if it's a part dorm apartments, you can absolutely say, hey, this is unbearable. I cannot live here. I have been doing all the work and no one is helping. Yeah, I wanted a reassignment. Yeah, because Sophia, do you think either of them are going to change? No. Yeah, no. They don't care. And there's a biohazard of. They'll look like that. I was like, she's in. Yeah.

They don't care. That's crazy to live. I couldn't. No. If they're like, yeah. I walked into my house like two weeks ago or something. And the one girl was like, does it smell in here? I said, yes, it does. And immediately that was gone. No, same. I'm like, yeah. If she didn't say anything, I was still going to look. Yeah. Exactly. I don't want to like, like, if I smell something in that, I'm not. No, I hate bad smells. Me too. Because I feel like it goes into my body and then I'm just like, whoa, I don't know. I have that fear. I can smell it. Update. Hi, everyone. Things have gotten worse since my last coat. No, no. But she finally moved out and unfollowed all of us yesterday. So here's a recap of everything that has happened since then. First off, the diaper and shower situation somehow got worse. No. She's not showering. Yeah, she's not using the shower apparently. Before, she would at least sometimes throw them away eventually. But these last few weeks, she doesn't even wrap them.

She just has them out in the open while still not throwing them away. That's like, truthfully, that's like leaving like a pad out. And that's disgusting. I think that's, I think it's way worse. It is way worse, but like, vehicle matter. Yeah. Yeah. Like just like poop there in a compartment of cotton. Ew. I don't want to hear about it anymore. Let me keep going. Same. She started to finally use the shower in our dorm, but only to dye her hair, which she half cleaned. And to shower before seeing her boyfriend. She has a boyfriend. Yesterday, she took her final shower, but left her hair all over the tub and drain. What do you mean final? What do you mean by final shower? Of course she moved out. That's the last shower of her life. Just look, I just don't like this thing. I took everyone's advice and talked to my housing advisor. Thank God. They told me to communicate clearly about the cleanliness issues and make a detailed move out cleaning plan.

They also said to take pictures after finishing our assigned areas. So if things got dirty again, we wouldn't get blamed. No, no, get me a new place. I don't want to play this game. Get me a new place. So we bought a whiteboard and divided up the cleaning tasks. That's what my household does. I cleaned the kitchen, roommate two, clean the bathroom, roommate three, clean the living room. When Miss Dype got home at midnight, she saw the board and groaned dramatically. She didn't even realize I was in the living room doing homework. So I explained the plan to her. She immediately started panicking like, what, what, why clean? I don't know what to clean. Can you tell me what to clean? Your stuff. Look at this whiteboard. You're in school. Clean yourself, honestly. I would say, yeah, first thing, clean your butt. First thing, wipe your butt. Clean up your stuff. Yeah. I gave her a BS answer and said, clean the walls. And she literally wrote walls on the board. What? Why didn't you say like, clean the floor in your diapers?

Pick up after yourself. Any of that. Everyone else completed their tasks on time except her. Important later. Meanwhile, cleaning the fridge was taking me longer because I worked two jobs and usually get home late at night. While I was doing that, she started sending passive aggressive messages like, guys, make sure to throw out old food from the fridge. It stinks. That's what my roommate does. You should have a conversation with her about that. Passive aggressive. And I'm like, but then she said that other things that other people do were passive aggressive. Passive aggressive. And I was like, huh? It was weird. That is a hard conversation, I have because I've had that reason to leave with my roommate. And it didn't go well, but you should all try, try to do that. And then you should bring out the new household member. You're right. We actually are getting a new roommate because one of them is moving out. And it's not your aunt. Mind you, this is the same girl who would leave open containers of milk out and giant pot of food rotting on the stove. Another thing that started happening was that she joined an all gender threat. After that, she started leaving fraught stuff everywhere.

Huge gift bags, boxes, decorations, random supplies, all over the kitchen, living room, and even our bedroom area. The living room would basically become storage for days until roommate three finally got fed up and dumped everything back into a room. Then came the fraught bros. Our room in agreement specifically said, no guys in the apartment unless everyone knows beforehand. Guests can't wander around shared spaces alone. If they're over, they need to stay with the roommate who invited them. She ignored all of it. I feel like those are pretty general roles, just for anyone. Yeah. Like, I don't want someone coming to my house, but I don't know. And then just going in my room. Yeah. No, really weird. Yeah, I mean, there ain't any snacks in here. Yeah, I'm hungry. Unless I invite you in, you're not going in my room. Fair enough. It's like vampire rules. Yes, stand in my room. There were multiple times where I woke up in pajamas, brawless barefoot, half asleep, and there would just be a random man standing in our apartment.

The only time she would actually tell us someone was coming over was after we reminded her of the agreement because we were uncomfortable. Oh my god. That's like a safety hazard. I hate those. Then she got a boyfriend. I thought you already had a boyfriend. She had another one. Then she got another boyfriend. For context, roommate two had asked us two weeks in advance if her boyfriend could stay for one night, and everyone agreed. The only person annoyed by it was Miss Diaper. Oh, the other roommate got a boyfriend. Oh, that makes sense. OK. So the only person annoyed by it was Miss Diaper. Who kept huffing and sighing every time she walked through the living room while they were watching TV? And the funniest part? In our roommate agreement, she was the one who said we could use her TV, but if she wanted it back, we had to immediately get off no questions asked, which was fair enough. So as soon as roommates two boyfriend left, she immediately rearranged the living room, plugged her console back in and started gaming.

Later that same day, she texted a saying her boyfriend would be coming over. We said, OK, then they never showed up. So we assume plans changed. Nope. The next morning we woke up, and this man was a sleep on our couch, wrapped in roommate two's blanket that she had left out for her own boyfriend. Huh? We let it slide the first night. Then the next morning, he was still there. Get out. No, get out. Is he living there? Get out. Out, out. Go. Scram. At that point, we literally left for the dining hall just to avoid being in the apartment. Then roommate three texted a saying they had gone into our room, shot the door, and started blasting music. So I finally texted her asking when he was leaving because everyone was uncomfortable. And she responded with something along the lines of, well, roommate two used my TV without permission, so I thought it was fair game. Huh? I don't like you. I don't like you, though. You're nasty. I don't like you. I would be very upset.

Yeah, no, this is upsetting to me as well. Watch out. I am a lady. There are three of you versus one of them. Yeah, why are we like, oh, yeah. Oh, she's already breaking the roommate agreement. I'm going to the RA again. I'm saying, hey, hey, she's breaking the agreement. She's letting people into our house. We don't feel safe. Yeah, Skinship, you just pay a little more and live by her own. Yeah, live by her own. Yeah, yes, by her own. By her own means. I think that meant what it was yourself. You'd say live on her own. By her own. Live on. You're not going to think. Living on her own. Wait, by her own side of thing. By herself. By her own. That's what you meant, though. But like that's still not a thing. But I'm going to call it out on her own. I'm not made for this world, guys. Any final would know. Just finish her off. I never want to see this diaper lady again. I don't like her. I don't like how she doesn't clean. I don't like her attitude. I don't want to hear about her anymore. And finally, the grand finale.

Uh-oh. Drum roll, please. She moved out yesterday without cleaning literally anything she was supposed to. Yeah. She never cleaned the walls, never wiped anything down. Nothing. All she did was throw out her fridge food and she didn't even take the trash out afterwards. We were going to text her about it, but she unfolded all of us immediately after movie now. So now I'm wondering, is it even worth texting her at this point? Or is there anything else I can do? Just live your life and piece. Live your life. You are free of her. Yeah. Just be in the apartment and then live your life. She's done. She's out. So she's gone free yourself from her mind control. Yeah. I would just be happy that she's gone up. Yeah. She's annoying. And that's the end of the story. We're going to read the next one. Hey, this is Riley, your favorite Southern bell. My fiance did the exact same thing as when she cheated. I almost ended our engagement. What did what? Okay. Every night for the last week, my significant other 26 female has woken me up at about 5am until about 6.30am. She does this by going on to her phone. I 23 mail am an extremely light sleeper. In the past, I would wake up at anything. Got so bad I was taking pills for years to help make me sleep. One day I forgot to take them and I was awoken at about 5am to my fiance on her phone who very quickly hid it and pretended to sleep. I thought, it should be strange. But maybe she just can't sleep and wanted to let me sleep. Nothing strange about that. Then after a few more times of me forgetting to take my pills and her waking me up, I clicked that every single time I wake up at that time she's on her phone. So for the last week, I have been destroying my sleep pattern by purposefully not taking

my pills. So far I've gathered she's on her phone for about an hour and a half and is typing a lot. She has an alarm set that's quiet that wakes her up and now me. I wake up at 7am for work anyway. I wonder if I don't have to get up for work would she be on her phone even longer. I might have to take one of my annual holidays to find out. By the way, this comes from me on the late night phone 99. If you want to submit your own stories, go to the R-Slasher okay story time subreddit. I'm Dakota. I'm Keon. I'm Sophia. And we're going to discuss this story where this woman is obviously doing something in the wee hours of the morning. She better be trying to catch a shiny. But we don't know everything. Maybe she's arranging furniture digitally. I don't know. But whatever you think is going on, let us know in the comments. Oopie says at this stage. I think there's some funny business going on.

Like why else would she be going on and off her phone at very specific times of the night? I once took her phone off her like a child and put it in my drawer and I was woken up to her trying to sneak out of the bed to get it. I know she went to get it as I watched her and then I watched her put it back by opening my eyes slightly. I do not want to confront her. I don't want her to know I'm on to her. Which we all know if she is doing something she shouldn't be doing will just make her hide it even more than she already does. If it turns out she's talking to another man in some sort of emotional cheating, Oopie booting her out of the house. There's no way she gets to stay at home doing whatever she wants all day while I'm working to support her while she wants to be a stay at home mom and housewife. That's literally her dream. I'm posting here to see if anyone has any ideas on what might be going on here before I take this to the next level and actually try to find out what she's doing. I'm hesitant to go that route because I'm scared of what I might find out.

So hopefully the fine people here will be able to give me some answers. That's not emotionally or physically cheating. Thanks for the help. Oh, you're desperate. You know what they say? Face your fears. If you're so scared, face them. In the words of Joey bad, a dollar sign, dollar sign, the best things in life are on the opposite side of fear. I probably got that from someone else too. That's kind of crazy that you had to kind of preentify her with her phone of putting in the drawer to be like no more. No, no, no, it's bedtime. And then she did like a little pink panther like she made the little every time you wake and she has the audacity to she knows that you have a you are a light sleeper. She doesn't care that you're a light sleeper and wakes you up consistently with their phone in the early day, in the early time of the day, not great.

Very rude already to start off with very rude, but she's doing some shady stuff. That's for sure. There's an edit here. Oh, get into it. And in the old post, people mentioned how it's weird. I don't trust her. I do trust her. However, in the past, she did emotionally cheat on me. So while I trust her, it's always on my mind. And this is exactly what happened the last time it happened. I didn't mention this in the original post because I wanted a fresh set of eyes to look at this issue and felt if you knew this information, you may not give me as good advice as in everything would just be she's doing it again rather than the wide range of potential reasons I got previously, which are also very likely to happen. I will also say that since I found this sub three months ago, I've been on infidelity daily, which may be clouding my judgment somewhat. I've been on here long enough to now know that if something was going on and I ask her about it, I may never find out what happened. When I say before I go and find out what she's doing, I mean, catch her red-handed, not sneak on her phone. Great. Still just communicate and confront her.

Unbelievable. Comments, when I feel like it says, here's a non-nefarious possibility. She's journaling, recording thoughts, making it to do this, or setting up utility apps. I don't know why it's so hard to just talk to her though. Trigger. Again, everything and anything but the actual answer. O.P. says, I do like that idea. I think I will give that a go tomorrow or once I'm in from work. I wasn't too sure how to raise it other than, what are you doing on your phone at five in the morning? What's you doing? What's why you come in? What home? Wait, I'm keeping up. Five in the morning. You're going to phrase it as in, hey babe, what are you doing organizing all your utilities and making to-do this at five in the morning? And she's going to go, oh, you know me. I'm just of, I just like to be really organized at five in the morning. And you're going to go, thanks babe. I love you. And what the hell are we doing? If she's doing nothing, that'll make me look crazy.

And she will go on a huge rant about how I don't trust her blah, blah, blah. That's a red flagging enough itself. Of course, she don't trust her. She cheated on you before. And if she is lying, then it'll be the end of our relationship. At least this way I can bring it up without her thinking I'm accusing her of anything. Just break up with her honestly. I just, just be done. It just seems like you never had trust in her in the first place. You were looking for an excuse to not to, like, catch her again. Moro itela says, have you thought of sleeping on your side facing her and trying to get a glimpse of what she's doing on her phone? Yeah. You wake up. Yeah, you do. Clips and have your eyes go like that. And like, hey, what you doing? Clockwork orange. O P says, no, I've never thought of sleeping on that side. For some reason, I've always slept on one side and have never been able to sleep any other way. So trying to sleep on the other side has never occurred to me. Or the shot, I guess, or maybe roll over at half five and say and stay sleeping in that

position for a while. Thanks for the idea. A skisis 1017 says, sure, she could be physically cheating with a short distance guy. Nobody says the long distance is because I instantly think of the previous time this happened and that was long distance in another country. That's why she was on her phone so late rather than during the day. There's an update. It's four days later. My God, guy. I don't know what exactly you need to go to therapy for. I think you need to go therapy for breaking up with your soon to be ex-girlfriend, fiance, whatever. Yeah, I think we need to go to therapy to get in tune with the voice inside of our head. You know, I think you need to be able to hear my wife, like your internal monologue is going, my girlfriend is doing the same. The same exact thing she did when she cheated on me before. It can't be happening again. Full me once, shame on her.

Full me twice. You can't get full again. You need to go to therapy to be able to confront that voice in your head when it tells you things you don't want to hear that you know our true. You know? So. Yeah, it's, come on. There is an update. Four days. So basically, I got in from work and after feeling pretty stupid, reading over some of the replies about how silly it was that I was trying to move a few inches over an hour just to see what she was up to, which looking back does sound mega-effing stupid. I just asked her, hey, I noticed you've been going on your phone like at five in the morning until half past six. What's going on with that? She got all excited, which I wasn't expecting at all. And basically it came down to she has been planning the wedding on her iPhone and is trying to keep it hidden from me until she was done. So now here enters the same problem we have, which is she's already cheated on you. And like you said, once you've been caught once, you know how to knock it caught again.

So who's to say she didn't have this one in the chamber? Because there's so many other ways you can plan the wedding in secret that don't involve laying next to your like what's it called, light sleeper husband? What? What? She had this one ready. She's been ready with this one. She was expecting you to be like, oh, he finally did it. He finally, he finally called me out. Great. It's ready. I've been waiting for this one. And it's like, so you're waking up at five in the morning to just plan a secret wedding. When I just go to work all day anyway, you could do it whenever. Who activated her trap card? Secret wedding. I'm doing, I'm planning for the wedding. Wow. Okay. She sat me down. We went over all the stuff, just tons of stuff. Dresses, flowers, venues, hairstyles. I was taken aback by it a bit as I was not expecting this at all. Basically this is what was happening. Five past five. She needs to be on her games, some cafe, train and plane simulator games where she has everything

time. So when she goes to bed until five past five, the game is busy. Then at five past five, she has to do some stuff, which takes her to about half past five then at five thirty until half past six. She would be planning the wedding. And at six thirty, she would go back to sleep in time for me waking up at seven. This is so frustrating that this is just barely believable enough to maybe be true. It's so stupid. It might make sense. Yeah, it's so dumb. It's like that. I mean, and I, you know, maybe, maybe. This is all true. It's so stupid. It makes sense. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But also, no, not on a much more real level. No, not at all. Do you know, percent? She said she would put her cafe and other games on longer missions and stop waking up so early. Get a job since she no longer has to hide it from me. I ended up telling her that I thought she was cheating on me again.

This ended up getting me into a small argument about how I still don't trust her, et cetera, but she ended it with it just takes some time and she can wait for me to be ready and how she deserves it since she broke my trust in the past. I do trust her and I am over her cheating. Lie. You want to read the rest of this post? I want you to read the rest of this post and then tell me. Don't lie to us. It doesn't even bother me anymore. He says. However, when she does get she stuff like this, I can't help but wonder even more so when this is exactly what she did in the past when she was cheating on me. Similarities are haunting. And it doesn't mean I don't trust her. It just means she's doing the exact same thing as last time and to me, it would be more believable if she was trying to cheat a second time and it stirs up them old emotions, which have been buried for a very long time. So anyway, I said maybe we shouldn't get married and cancel the engagement like some

people recommended, which she basically said we could do that, but she will be leaving and I still want to be with her. So we ended up agreeing that I would get therapy, trying to sort out any issues I may have. Y'all haven't gone to therapy? I'm so stupid. It makes sense. It's like watching the room. Oh, hi, doggy says the therapy will help me work through issues I may have and to teach me not to go from zero to 100 on the she is cheating on me radar. She let me view her phone and if I wanted I could recover her texts, etc. which to be honest, yes, I thought about in a passing thought viewing her phone, recovering deleted info and checking downloaded apps for, you know, kick, etc. This was way before we had our talk, but it was never serious and I decided the fact she's willing to put that on the table means I should trust her on this. So I did that. I also felt like if I picked that phone up and checked everything in detail, it would take our relationship back a few years. I think your relationship is exactly stuck in the moment she cheated on you and has

not progressed past that. She is right though, you should go to therapy and you guys should just break up. This is unhealthy. Sorry for the anti-clamatic update. In the end, all this did was make me feel stupid and I should have just talked to her to begin with. Somewhere along the line, our communication just stopped and we stopped telling each other things. We're working on resolving that. And just to note as well, while she is planning the wedding, the wedding won't be for another couple years at minimum, we decided on a long engagement when we started it and won't be getting married until we are both in the right place in our own lives to make that commitment. And there is an edit. A couple of people touched on the subject in the original post, but the only reason I posted here before going to her directly is because at the time, to me, she was doing the exact same stuff that she did when she first cheated on me. So to me, obviously, that's going to make me a bit paranoid and worried. I also posted here to get other ideas and to help on how to confront her. If I confronted her and she was doing it again, I doubt I could trust anyone again and

my relationship would be over. If I confronted her and she wasn't cheating again, that would cause huge arguments and I'm quite a nonconfrontational guy. Oh, gee, we didn't notice. It's a red flag that you being like, hey, you're doing the exact same behaviors that you did when you cheated on me. Are you cheating on me? Could I just say it? I'm going to say it. Everyone sucks here. Yeah. Everyone sucks here. Yeah. Everyone sucks here. That's, I'm going to say it. I. Yeah. You obviously have so much trust issues on her. You guys have not talked this through. Zero communication. Boy oh boy. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. Edit to. This post was typed up in about three minutes while I was on the tail end of my lunch hour. There's loads of details left out. However, it was not a case of me going, oh, I thought you were cheating on me and we should cancel the engagement. It was more of her asking me why I brought it up. I explained why I felt this way and how it was so similar to the past and then I couldn't help but think that. Even if she is telling the truth.

Great. You still don't trust her. You thought she was cheating on you because she cheated on you the best. It did. I think y'all, no, y'all need at least a break or at least a just time to really start from square one. I think I like what you said earlier about it. It's just stupid enough and I do think A-Gal 82 says she's slick. I believe it. I believe it too. She's also an idiot because she's probably cheating on him in the exact same way that she was before the exact same time. I said earlier, it's like you fool me once. You can't fool me again. It's the same exact method but she just had, she's like, oh, I did it but once before but you know what? I'll have backup. I'll have, you know, oh, I'm excited for like our wedding. I'm this and that and then she somehow flips it around. Okay, cool. We can't stay together anymore. It's the perfect situation of like, it's actually for our wedding and I'm just a gamer and also if you have a problem, well, that's your fault and you have to go to therapy.

And yeah, it's just, listen, we are also gamers over here. I'm following for it. I am actually a gamer enough to have played games like that to know that you don't actually have to wake up at five in the morning to make that work. You just wake up whenever you fucking wake up and then start it then and then there's no point to make it happen at five in the morning. There's no point. You know, most of us won those games where it's just like, you have a specific amount of time and you have to pay for more time. Yeah, it's right. But as I'm saying, it's like what it like the game that we played at PTCG. Yeah. You get like a certain amount of packs every 12. I could make it so that they I can open them at five in the morning. Why would I do that? I would just open them later in the day. It doesn't make any sense that she's doing this. Very weird. It's dumb. It's dumb. All this is dumb. All this is dumb. Yeah, I hate it. I explained to her that maybe until we work on ourselves in our communication, we should cancel the engagement and do it again in time once we are over this. It was not me saying, yeah, I thought you were cheating and now I wanted to cancel the

engagement. It was a two hour or so discussion between the both of us on our feelings. We have comments. I'm so excited for these comments because OP, Pickle Lane, you read your post again. reread your post. I know you said you did it really quickly on a lunch break. You thought she was cheating and you were ready to go on every little thing other than confront her that it was cheating, too. On the corner 11 says I really think you should clarify that she was emotionally cheating on you before, not physically cheating on you. There is a huge difference. And how far did the emotional cheating go? Was it spicy messages or just some flirting? I'm of the opinion that emotional cheating is far from the end of the world. I hate your opinion. That's a stupid opinion. Was this just a bot? Was this OP's girlfriend? One time was posted 5am. Yeah. OP says it was emotional and it went from fantasizing right up to sending videos sometimes

while I was in bed with her. Bro, if she can do that to you, you should have just broken up with her. I don't know. Yeah, immediately. Some photos I saw included me in them asleep with a back of my head. I cast you both off into deep space. This is insane. Photos hidden inside an iPhone app that's like a calculator, but if you put the key in her birthday, it will unlock to a hidden photo gallery. Hilarichka says, man, it's plain as day. You don't trust her. Why would you try to call off the engagement for no reason at all? It's good to hear that you're going to try therapy. Do you plan on going together? Why are people against this guy? Sweet mother of God. OP says I do trust her. Lie. This was the exact same situation that happened the last time she cheated on me. So it's just hard to not go, ah, not this again, but I think one time out of the last few years is a good record. No. Haha. No. A good record is zero. Cheating in relationships is like accidents at nuclear facilities. It needs to be zero.

Okay? Yeah, I will go it alone for a little bit, but we will be going together. I want to both of you need to go together and do a volcano. I love a God. Capscence of avoid says, oh my holy crap. My roommate refused to pay rent, so I rented his room out while he was gone. Interesting? I, 24 female, moved countries a year and a half ago to be with my partner 23 male. When I first moved here, we were looking for an apartment, but finding one as international students with pets and no job was nearly impossible. After we could be in homeless during winter, we found a two bedroom place. We're just going to skim right over. Okay. Because we're over our budget, we split it with a friend of my partner's 30 female. Let's call him Michael. Before moving in, Michael seemed perfect. He appeared clean and organized, but that was just an act. No, the Michael act. Oh no. Oh, such a tricks to that Michael. Oh, Michael. Once we moved in, we realized we were living with a literal toddler.

Michael literally holds the washing machine hostage by leaving wet clothes inside four days. In two days. No, tossing those out. No. No, look. No, look. No, look. No, look. No, look. No, look. No, look. No, look. No, look. No, look. No, look. No, look. No, look. No, look, look. No, look. No, look. No, look. Oh, that's wet for them. Yeah. If we moved them, he complains. I don't care. I'm like, oh, shut up. The damn clothes create a rancid smell that fills the home. Yep. His like a pi gene is actually dangerous. I contracted hypelurie. Or anyone who doesn't know. It is a bacteria spread through fecal oral contact. There's poo poo in your mouth. What is that? Read mine, read mine. Because he never washes his hands after using the bathroom. What are you touching that he's touching? Okay he can do that but every time he leaves the bathroom you spray hose him down.

I spent months in extreme pain and lost significant weight. Even though I clean the kitchen every morning to feel safe eating he trashes it immediately. He never cleans the toilet, the sink or the floors. Well girl he doesn't clean himself. Huh? He dooddy. What do you, he's real dooddy. As Opie says, Michael drinks almost daily while I am trying to stay sober his drinking affects us because he vomits in the kitchen or bathroom sink instead of the toilet. I am having a conversation every day until he gets out. I am confronting him every day until he gets out.

I'm saying if you vomit I go you get out get out get out you you you you you. He claims the toilet grosses him out. You gross me out what? You're giving me H. Polori is that how you say it? I don't know. I'm in pain and losing weight and you just go and throw up in sinks. Iwa. Iwa. And don't wash yourself. My partner had to scoop vomit out of the drains because I physically cannot do it. One night a waste and Michael broke our sliding toilet door. He blamed us for the damage since we have no insurance. We have used a curtain for a bathroom door for months. There is zero privacy. Also Michael paid rent but refused to pay utility bills for six months. We rely on family help to survive yet we ended up paying his share while we had a stable income. When he was laid off he forced a fourth person to move into our tiny utility room to

cover the cost. And you only why are we letting any of this happen? Why are we letting any of this happen? I would have moved out and then fact like you should be spending like maybe most of your time moving out to find another place because he's not he's not paying like your whole reason for moving in with this guy was so he would pay you know a third of the rent because you couldn't afford it. And he's not paying a third of the rent and is now moved another person in like let's find a new place. He lied to this new tenant about the bills so now my partner and I are paying utilities for four people on a budget meant for two. We can barely afford food like why are we still here? Last week Michael left the country for a month with only one night of notice. He left all his belongings here but we have no idea if he will send his rent money. Housey market is so bad and our finances are so low that we cannot afford to move or break the lease. I am at the point where I might drop out of school just to get a job and escape this

nightmare. Talk to landlord, talk to landlord. If he's not paying the stuff, talk to landlord and say hey he just brought someone else into the room. That's not loud. There's so many options for you to fix this. Yeah. Without you know I guess being mean or confrontation or whatever there's there's ways. We'll reach the point where we need to be confrontational. Yeah he's bad. He's nasty. Update to almost a month later. Oh my god please, please for the love of God. Move out. Well rent day came while he was gone. He didn't send his share. We called him and this man literally said why would I pay rent when I'm not using the room. You guys finger it out. And then you're gone and then you don't get to come back now. No no no no no no no no. Oh you're not paying rent? Oh I guess you don't live here. He didn't mean that did he? You meant it. You're not a roommate. What? So we did. We packed up his stuff deep cleaned his room where we found used gross used wrappers left

behind absolutely disgusting and that is literally the least disgusting thing we found. And rented the room out to a new tenant so we wouldn't drown financially. Michael totus on the phone his girlfriend would come get his stuff but she never showed. He said he will send someone else and send us his keys back and he never did. Two weeks later at 10 pm Michael just walked into our apartment using his key. He opened his old bedroom door saw someone else living there and cowardly yielded out. He just said he had stuff to do and left saying we'd talk the next day. The next day he showed up completely wasted holding adult soda. We are a booze for you house since I'm a recovering heavy drinker and demanded his room back. He started screaming and lying saying he never agreed to give up his room and even claimed he tried to pay rent but my boyfriend refused the money. The new roommates almost got into a physical fight with him because of how disrespectful

he was. I screamed at him too because I couldn't handle the lies. I was so angry I actually had to leave and go to a friend's house. My boyfriend stayed. Michael finally agreed to take his deposit back. Stay on our living room couch until he found a place and said he'd come back that night to sleep. No. He never showed up. No. No. They got he didn't show up but like what would know that's not an option. That's like crazy that you're still letting him. Yeah you're like I guess you can sleep on the couch. No. Give me the key. Change the locks. Next morning I was deep cleaning the house and we had friends over. Suddenly my partner comes upstairs and says Michael called the police. They're coming up right now. Lord almighty said what? They won't let me back into my apartment. They took the thing like kicks me out. Michael told the cops we punted him out and rented his room without permission. At first I was so stressed I forgot about our message history and just told the cop everything

saying we agreed verbally. The cops said since I didn't have immediate proof he might have to take me and my boyfriend to jail. My heart was in my throat but then I dug through my phone and found the text proof. The second the officer saw the proof the tables completely turned. The cop turned to Michael told him he wasn't dialy in the wrong and told him he had to leave. Michael immediately flipped into victim mode and started crying fake tears. What do we do with Michael? What are we doing? Toss him out. Never let him come back. Change the locks. Michael came back. So this is fun guy. His name is Michael Angelo. He leaves in the sewers of New York City and he loves eating pizza. He lives down there. I think Michael should join him. Double Michaels. Two Michaels and two. Michael Jordan. Michael Angelo the Ninja Turtle. Even then the audacity didn't stop. Michael tried to tell my boyfriend that he betrayed him. On the night he was wasted he actually tried to claim I was the dirty one trying to use my period against me and claiming I leave the toilet bloody.

This coming from the man who gave me a fecal oral bacterial infection. He used the woman card. He said, well you have blood. I see blood sometimes inside the toilet. When the cop told him to hand over the apartment keys Michael refused. The officer literally had to rip the keys out of his hand. In the end we handed his deposit and his packed bags right in front of the police officer. He is officially gone. We have his keys and he can never come back and I hope I never see him again. We can finally breathe. Our new roommates are great and we are finally safe in our own home. Finally. All it took was Michael calling the police. But for real, why didn't you guys do it? We'll never know. That's what I'm saying. Isn't it wild? The person that's acting like an absolute A.S.S. is calling the police. You guys went about this the hard way. Literally. You could have just been one call. Boom. The only good thing you did was pack up Michael's stuff and put it outside and rent out his room.

That's the only thing you did right here. Everything else you did the hard way. For real. For reals. But that's the end of that story. Okay, picture this. This before kick off, you're relaxed.
