Would you rather talk to me about Jake Mangum or would you rather talk to Jake Mangum about Pokemon? Oh, we got to talk to Jake Mangum about Pokemon. You have that option. If you would like to take whatever option you'd like to take. I'd like to talk to Jake Mangum about Pokemon. Just be over here then. Please enjoy, man.
It's Jake Mangum. And Paul Bacchan. Paul Bacchanler. Paul Bacchanler, by the way, who fucking, what do you say he shoved last night? He was at, is that what I say he shoved? Yeah. He pitched well. He was awesome. He was fucking awesome. Yeah. Just mowing people down throwing 99% of it. Did you ever think you did go to the game? I did go to the game. Yeah. Yeah. Just to make sure everybody knows I went to the game. Did you know pitching Ninja last night at all? Do you know? Any swords or anything like that? Did you wear the white socks shirt that you wore to work yesterday? Or did you? Did the game or did you? No, I was going to support my gosh. Oh, okay. You were missing. You changed before you. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Nick and I. I was there. Yeah. So, yeah. So, right before pregame, we're coming in from warm-ups. And Stu is like first row right behind our dugout, just like Nick and Brandon. Yeah. And I just hit Stu with a. Rearrow! Rearrow! He said, I love you! I love you! Never met him before. No, that's exactly right. I made my day. I made my day. And then we opened up with the five run first ending.
So, we were in fact ready to roll. It was cool. I didn't even know. Long dugout at the white sock stadium. One of the best dugouts. Yeah. Three sections of seats behind the dugout. And me and Nick were towards the outfield end of the dugouts. We couldn't afford the good seats. So, we're sitting there and I heard Stu before I saw him. Yeah. I heard I was like, and I looked down and Stu was doing his whole. Yeah. But yeah, he was, he was at the game. I mean Stu is that way. Like you said, you don't know him. You do know him. Doesn't matter. You do know him. If you know that, you know him. Yeah. He said, I love you. Yeah, I was like, yes. That's awesome. I was freaking out. I was freaking out. It's throwing 99 and the seventh end. It's being able to throw 100 miles an hour. Is that pretty fucking sweet? I mean, yeah it is. Yeah, yeah. That's what I thought. I thought it would be. It isn't as sweet when you don't know where it's going. You knew where it was going last time. Yeah. Sometimes we don't though. Yeah. You got some crazy run on your fast one. Looking your savant page. Oh my god.
Pretty tight. Don't open it. Don't open it. It's going to be so difficult. So do the baseball nerd stuff. Oh, okay. You know what I'm going to talk about the, these guys baseball players are the biggest nerds in the room right now. They have to do his little nerds. Bob, I was like, you're savant page in the run. I mean, it's, you got some redid. Let's talk about your spin rate. Oh my god. You know what? It's well bubbly, yeah. It's, it's, it's, it's rich. Yeah. Let's stay away from the bon page. I used to have well bubbered on it too and that just kind of went away. What is, what is your metric, Bob? I like that you look at what is your, your number one thing. I mean, like I want to make sure this is good. On a four same, you want the vert to be higher. Yeah. Because you know, lower release extension. It goes like that. Yeah, it's perceived right. Right. Yeah. And sometimes, you know, that closer you get to 20, the more the ball is going to go up and, you know, we have it really been there. And so, so you used to have good vert. Oh yeah. Now you're, you're flat. It's, yeah, it feels a little flat. Okay. So we're trying to get it back. What can we do to, to get that vert back up? Because I've been doing like box jumps to try to get that back up.
Yeah. I just probably don't stop thinking about it. Okay. Yeah. Probably will come back at some point. Yeah. Is there like an inner competition in the organization to throw hard? Because obviously you, Paul, and then Seth Hernandez, right? In the, in the minors, you guys all throw. Jared Jones, Braxton, Aschrist. Absolutely. Yeah. Is that like a thing in the audience? All those guys who touch in a hundred? Oh yeah. Jared and Braxton are both like 99, 98, sitting it. Oh Jesus Christ. Yeah. What, you said 99? I'd probably like 98 something. Okay. Okay. A couple of times, 99, yeah. Is, does any part of you, so Kevin Durant, when he was coming out of college, was like very obviously seven feet tall, but he did not want to be listed at seven feet because he didn't want to be boxed in as a seven footer. So you would just tell everybody's like six, nine or six, ten or whatever. Yeah. And then you'd see him standing next to seven footers and you're like, you're lying. You kind of understand why I did that. The reason I bring that up is just part of you not want to be a 100 mile an hour guy because then you're sort of boxed in as like all you do is throw gas.
Like if you're the guy that just throws like a hundred and one. You know, so maybe top out at 99. So that way you're a good pitcher instead of just like the guy who come. You know how to locate. Yeah. If you're the guy that just throws like a hundred and one every time, then you're just kind of like a, you know, you're a freak. So then a pitcher. Yeah, you're a freak. Yeah. You definitely, you definitely kind of get labeled sometimes when you do everybody, whether you throw 85 miles an hour or 105, like you're going to have big misses. And sometimes I'll have a big miss and you know, you'll just hear people will be like, God, you know, he doesn't know where it's going. So this guy's all effort, max effort, every pitch. It's like, it's not true. I just, you know, I was trying to go up and I just accidentally missed a little too up. But, uh, yeah, sometimes when you do throw it like harder and then you have an outing where you don't throw us hard, people are always like his arm hurt. Yeah. I saw that with Mr. Asuka a couple of weeks ago, average fastball was like 99 something and he hadn't been under an average fastball of a hundred and like four months.
People are like, is he okay? Yeah. He bunched up 11. So I think he's fine. I'm, uh, I'm going to acknowledge right before I ask this question. It's one of the number of questions I've ever asked and my God, I have asked some stupid questions. I'm just going to have before, I'm going to ask a pre-question before the real question. Did you all know what, do you know Jake, what last night's special night at the ballpark was? Bark in the park. It was bring your dog to the ballpark, right, Mark? Yes, it was a Tuesday night and it was absolutely packed in the outfield. It was bring your dog to the ballpark. Now, that's a starting picture that guy hit five times last night and played left field. My question to you, because I was sitting there and at no point could I ever get my mind off the fact that it was bring your dog to the ballpark night, because those dogs barked the whole fucking time. How many dogs you supposed were there, Brandon? Hundreds. They showed on the screen that there were 1186 dogs in the deck. 1100 dogs. And they put them all in the outfield and when you all back there, they had shitting stations. Mark, they had shitting stations. They had turfed out grass in the outfield behind that thing with a fire hydrant there.
And it was rounded by workers with shit backs. Anyway, Jake, you played left field. Did you get tired of those damn dogs barking all night? You heard them barking. And over the years playing ball, you have bark in the park nights. So this is not unusual. I imagine minor leagues. What? Yeah. I didn't hear them do it. They might have done it. But like there's been a few times you're at ball parks and they'll like over the speakers, they'll do like a doorbell sound. They did that last night. Did they do it? Yeah. Because I remember when we were talking. And triple a bark in the park day. They did a doorbell and like the place went crazy. Like dogs just started going crazy. And I didn't hear them do it last night. But I've always said that's pretty clever. Well, you'll hear like a ring doorbell like thing and like the whole ball park. I noticed it very clearly because I was about to leave. It happened with two outs on the top of the seventh inning. I think you would either you would just line out to that is when you lined out to.
Yeah, so I'll find out you left. That's right. I said, I'm going to see Jake bat in the last time. This will be the last time he bats all night. So I'm going to see my friend bat. And that's it. And then I was texting him later. He said, yeah, I really needed that double in the ninth. And I said, yeah, brother. Yeah, cool. That's very double. That sounds awesome. It was there. Totally was that sound. No, but you pulled it to right field, right? The double. Back side to left. Yeah, it's what I'm saying. You're left field. Yeah, I mean, you're right. Right. Right left. What's in the? You took it to the field. Yeah, you just didn't know which. Mark, there was also. It was bar. It was a dog night. They had kiss cam. On the kiss cam, it started off normal. There was a man and a woman. And they smooched. And then there was an older man and older woman. They smooched. And then there was a woman and her dog. And they just. And then there was a man and his dog. And they just. Uh huh. And then what was fifth amongst amongst the. I guess the people kissing now you're.
You'll I'll give you 100 guesses you won't guess. I would guess two dogs. That would have been great. I would guess two dogs. And we're been great. Yeah. It was a man proposing to his to his girlfriend amongst. Barca at the park night. Right after a man swooped a French bulldog. Another man got on his knees. I was on the mountain. Got on his knees and said, well, you marry me. And she's holding a dog. And she just goes. Yeah. Yeah, I guess I guess I will. No emotion. Just right there in the middle of the. He a proposed in the middle of Barca at the park night. That that for you off of it. Yeah, yeah. I heard the stadium was kind of going crazy. And I was like, what's going on? I looked up and the sky's just sitting there. I was like, oh, yeah, good for you. Yeah, go get it, man. Yeah, her reaction was muted. Not as strong. I guess. Yeah, sure. I have to. Yeah, I think the dog has got me. So I am 34.
I guess I kind of. Just doing that calculus. Yeah. Am I going to find anything better? I guess. Yeah, you know what? Sure. Give me the ring. Just give me the ring. Oh, I got a paradox. I want to throw you guys. I brought this up on the show a handful of times. And I got to hit her in a picture in front of me. So I want to throw this at you. Because we're talking about fans being distracting. You know, like they can make some noise. And maybe they get in your head. Maybe they don't. Whatever. I've always been fascinated, especially come playoff time. Big at bat. There's a big at bat. Now, if you're the home team, you'll notice like two outs, two strikes. Maybe bases are juice. We got to get this out. Get out of the jam. The crowd will rise to their feet to rally on the pitcher. You know, to like get the pitcher, get some juice and make sure you get this last strike. Conversely, when the home team is up to bat, and it's a big at bat, they will rise up and like be like we got a juicer. It's the exact same sound. It's the exact same reaction. And I've always been fascinated by that because when you're when you're when you're clapping, everyone's on their feet clapping.
Are you not also aiding the visiting pitcher to pitch better by getting him hyped up and vice versa. I've identified this paradox that exists in baseball fandom. I would like for you guys to make sense of it. Is there is there some truth to like when you're a road hitter. And the people get on their feet. Does that get in your like you know what I'm saying? Do you understand the question I'm asking? Pitcher. Yeah, I mean, I think the major league baseball game of adrenaline is already just through the roof. So I think when like that stuff happens on the pitching side, you're kind of just like, you know, this is great. You know, if there's 50,000 people there just screaming like, you kind of got what you got. Yeah. Already, but it just makes the atmosphere 10 times better because people are like, you know, it's like a big third down. Like they want to see, you know, who the home's team, whatever side it is succeed. And yeah, so I think nothing really changes. If anything for me, like I probably throw a worse pitch because like I'm trying to, you know,
I'll just do stuff. Yeah, right as I go to throw the pitch, it goes quiet for a split second, swinging a miss. Yeah, yeah, or a, you know, base is clearing double. Yeah. Don't erupt. But yeah, I'm not quite in there. Not quite the eruption. Yeah, I don't know. I feel like I feel like fans need a cheer for like to get the batter going, but then a difference here to get the pitcher going. Because they're the exact same thing. It's just like everyone rises to their feet and starts making noise. Maybe like a free throw. Yeah. Home team. You're very quiet. You're dead silent. Yeah. You know, they're going crazy. Yeah. Yeah, we're putting our hands in here. Yeah, because that's kind of, I mean football, the third down, if you're if you're on offense, it's like everyone quies. Yeah, so you can talk to the, yeah, you can call the audience. You're right. Baseball, it's the same reaction. Jack, same. It's a big at bat. And whether you're you're up to bat or on the mounds, your fans are just losing their minds. Yeah, football is pretty straightforward. Quiet on offense, loud on defense. Right. But as a hitter, if you're in a position of it being loud in the ninth for a big at bat, it's probably been loud the whole game.
Yeah. You know what I mean? I got you. So if you're in that situation, then the whole game's probably been a high stress, high atmosphere. And typically by then, you've kind of worn into the situation or that of that night. Yeah, man, it's just that's what you want. Yeah. Like, like, like, like, pressure is a privilege, man. Like, you know, having that having the at bat or having the game that's like a high stress situation, man. Like, you've earned that right to get there. So just kind of like welcome it in. It, you know, that's what you want. Like, that's that, those are those are the moments you want to be in and it doesn't really, I'd say as a hitter, it's. You're so like hyper focused on the pitcher and like what he's going to throw it. Yeah, it kind of does black out like all. Yeah, it does. You don't need the fans to tell you that this is an important moment. Yeah, you kind of, you kind of already. Like, like, what Bubba said, you really notice it in the outfield. It's like, I'll be out in the outfield.
It's really loud. The pitcher is about to release the ball and that little half millisecond of when it just goes dead silent when the ball is like traveling. It's the coolest thing in the world. Yeah. And then you get the swing of mess or you get the ground out and everybody goes crazy. It's like that, that's one thing that's really cool about baseball. It's like that little half second. It goes dead silent. This is in basketball. It's when the ball goes up in the air passing the ball and football like it's cool sports. Let's talk some college football because we got a couple of college football connections. Hey, before I talk about college football, Bubba, I got to ask you about your hat because I can't see. Is that a Buffalo Bill's logo or is that a pelican? It's a pelican golf course in Tampa. Oh, excuse me, money bags. Okay. So a golf course in Tampa. Yeah. I asked Gordon about the pelican golf course. That's nice. That is related. So my first college football question is for you, Jake. TJ, can I have the picture?
Give me the picture. The picture. The picture. I'm not asking you to pull something up. One college football. Somebody get that picture to me. Yeah. Yeah, let's talk about this picture. Let's talk about this damn picture because this picture is haunted two people. This picture right here has haunted these two people. That's me. And that's country music superstar Hardy right there. Okay. You see country music superstar Hardy, Jake. I do. You see me, Jake? The other side, but yes. Yes. Do you see me, Jake? I do. These two men went through agony as their Mississippi State Bulldogs lost to Texas after being up 17 in the fourth quarter. Now, these two guys were in the owners suite or nothing owners. Whatever the, what do we call them? That's that director suite. Yeah, 80s. We were in the 80s suite for a lot of the game. We decided we're going to go down and watch the game. Now right here, right where the picture frame cuts off. Can't see it, Brandon. I don't know. I think that's an imaginary person. Yeah, no, no, right right here. Basically where this is.
That's correct. Is Jake Mangle. Uh-huh. That's correct. Jake Mangle is standing here. So somebody at some point along the way decided to crop Jake Mangle out to emphasize the pain on me. Jake, did you have anything to do with that? I'd like to say that you pointing this out. That's that's allegedly because you just said you were there because you don't have proof that I was there, but you don't know if I was right there. What's his I was right there. I was right there. Yes, I got cropped out of that picture or I wasn't in the frame. Pretty fortunate about that. It hurt. Yeah. But there is a picture of me and you after that for both squatted down. Yeah. Just in pain and agony. Yeah, man. That was uh. Jake, were you making the same face that Hardy and Brainumber making? Yes. The mouth of Gabe like he had to be absolutely. Absolutely. Um, I think that's what makes it so funny is. And you know what only is it happening in front of your face, but you're both just like, oh. And that day and that day and Stark full was amazing. Was like the most fun, perfect day ever.
Like everything. Just perfect. Yeah. You couldn't script a game day any better until that last like, probably say 15 minutes. Now, Baba, you, you got some college football ties. Yeah. You were committed to play for dabbo at Clemson. No kidding. You were, you were going to go play uh, quarterback and baseball at Clemson, right? And you were, you went through the whole recruiting process with dabbo. And now, here a couple of years later, things aren't going so hot for Clemson. Are you still, do you still maintain your Clemson fandom or was that, uh, did it go away when you, when you decided to play in the same time with pro baseball? Of course. I love the Tigers. I'm from Athens, Georgia, right there in the off season still. So, you know, Georgia's a fan of Georgia, but Clemson is, uh, Clemson's my place. You know, my future wife went there and, um, you know, my buddies from my recruiting class stayed there and had great careers. Now, someone went in the league and, you know, still have a lot of contact with Coach Sweeney. And then, the position coaches that were there when I was going through aren't anymore.
Yeah. Um, but yeah, Coach Sweeney is, you know, he's the man and people are talking a lot of stuff. They're all over him. They're all over him. I mean, what's the, it's a night to September, like, yeah. But college football is like in games left. They don't know what we're doing. College football has changed, you know, and, and, and there's a lot of people out there that like, the length difference of the world are just attacking the transfer portal and doing. Yeah. And he's, he's not changing and it does feel like a moment's coming where Clemson's going to have to make a decision to we want to change and go this way or do we want to ride with dab? Can you, you're a ride with dab? Oh, yeah. I mean, unless Coach Sweeney does something highly illegal. Yeah. Which is impossible. Yeah. Coach, I think such thing is illegal. Yeah. You can just throw another hail Mary if you want. Well, more of like, yeah. More of like, yes. You know, like commits a bad crime. Like he should not get fired. Yeah. He should leave on his own terms, even if the season isn't coming. I think I agree with that. And like, what he's done, I mean, Clemson is, Clemson's like, Sargfield, like, it's a small place and it's not, you know, it wasn't one of the huge cultural programs, you know, over the years until, you know,
when Coach Sweeney got there after 2010. Yeah, he built it. That's what I was going to ask you as a guy who's a singer at the Clemson football, is he a victim of his own success? Yes. If he goes eight and four this year, if that happened in 1998, they would have been okay with that. Clemson has a pretty proud history, but in the modern era, Coach football, they hadn't shown they won an actual title until he did it twice. And not only did he do it, he stared down Nick Sabin, the Empire to do it in the prime when they were at the peak in the prime. And they're down peak Alabama. And they went to Florida to see him. If memory serves, was it like, Dabo choking in big games, a thing for a while? Clemsoning was. Clemsoning, yeah. That wasn't, that wasn't Dabo necessarily. It was the tail end of the last guy and then the front end of the dabbo. Clemsoning was a thing until he broke through and it wasn't. So, Bob, things have obviously worked out for you. You're in the major leagues, you're taking asked you to do whatever. You ever kind of think about regret not playing low-cost football or? Yeah, 100%.
I think, like last year when I got to the big leagues, it was right before Coach football started. So, it was a lot different. But the years I was in the minor leagues, the first week of Coach football was always like, damn. I'm in the middle of nowhere in the minor leagues right now and I could be running down the hill playing Coach football. Which is not what I wanted to do. Like, I love football, but I think football was more of a hobby. You were always a baseball guy. Yeah, like I love baseball. I love football too, but football was going to pay for school type of thing. And I was good at it and I loved it. And, you know, if I had the opportunity to play in the NFL of course, like anybody would take that. But, yeah, the baseball was always kind of my thing. Because I didn't really play. You know, my freshman sophomore year of high school, we had quarterbacks that were better than me and they started. So, I didn't play and didn't really play a whole lot of JV either because of numbers and all that stuff.
So, I didn't really play to my junior year. So, as a minor leagueer, you were like, man, I wish I was in college, but as a major leagueer, you're good. Yeah, I mean, major league baseball. Yeah, we're probably pretty cool. We're just showing. And, too, like, you know, I get a deer hunt in the off season and play football, you don't get to do that. That's a great idea. If you brought him down, you're going to bring him down. I'm invited. He's welcome to come start for the late time he wants. I'm talking about the deer hunt, Jake. I'm not just talking about coming back. Oh, yeah, absolutely. Yeah. And he's coming down to West Point. Because that's all you do in the off season, right? Just go hunting. More ducks recently, but, yeah. You like duck meat? Not really. Not really. Come on. You like, come on, man. Come on. Hey, damn it. Bring it home. I didn't know what to say when he said no. That sounded like Max. Oh, you might have got LeBron again. Did you get? Go check. Go check what that was. That was definitely Max. That was a Max Quake. Well, last time Max, you don't like that.
The Phil, the brother, the six or something. Oh my god. Did they lose LeBron? What if they lost LeBron? Is it Bosco? Stu. Oh, it's Stu. Oh, it's Stu. Oh, yes. We got the, we got the, we got the, uh, Bosco's here. We got the All Stars here today. Uh, I had a, I had a logistics question for you, Jake. Cause I, we brought this up not too long ago. And then I said, I'm going to ask Jake when he comes in. Yeah. And there you are. And it might be honestly, with the weather today, this might be an appropriate question. How do you guys find out a game has been rained out? Because before you answer, I want to, I want to walk through my, my line of thinking. On the one hand, I was like, they obviously have a group text where every player for the Pittsburgh Pirates is on the text. And then like one of your ops guys, text the group, bingo, bingo, bongo, easy peasy. It's done. Hey guys, we're not playing today. Don't bother coming in. Yada yada. It's over. Then on the other hand, I was like, that seems like a nightmare. That seems like a fucking, you know, cause in like, guys will just start double tapping thumbs up and then now your phones. But what is the answer? I, both of them make total sense that you would not have a group text,
but also it makes total sense that you would have a group text. Say tonight's game gets rained out. How do you find, how do you find out that information? Well, we're, you're always at the field. So you're going to be there anyway. There's even if you've found out right now that the game is getting rained out, you would still go to the field. There would still be a bus to go to the field. Oh, guys would go get their daily routine and go to the cage or whatever. Go to the cage, go to the weight room, stuff like that. But any baseball player will agree with me here. Like since day one, there's always a window. Like you, there's always a window to find a way to get together. Absolutely. And in the major leagues, 162 is already difficult enough. The last thing anyone really wants is a double header in the future. So like in May, if you get rained out, it's like, all right, well, we're done today. But then you're like, man, that day in August is going to roll around. And it's going to be a double header. And then we're going to have eight games in a week instead of seven.
You just, you want to get the game in. Like everyone wants to get the game in because those double headers lingering are always really in the back of your head whenever they roll around late in the season. So no group text. We have a group text. Someone sends a message and kind of like says, hey, we're meeting in 30 minutes. We'll let you know what's going on. Then the 30 minutes roll around and they'll be like, first pitch blank. And then we don't respond. You don't respond. You just read the message and you know, continue. We have a questions guy in your group chat. Do you have a teammate just like always have some questions? Because Bubba just parked up like you do the Steven Chey. Yeah. We have Steven Chey on our team here at the YAC and and and every time somebody says, are there any questions and Steven Chey's got seven. Oh, I'm going to say, yeah, we say seven PM. Is that Eastern or Pacific Eastern Steve? We're in New York. We're in New York. Okay, just checking. That worked like that with us. Yeah. I don't know. Oh, someone's always going to complain about something. Yeah.
Okay. Who was the, who was the player that that that why we're talking about? To tell Marta is the one that's finally going through the. He had a porter that he like just stayed at the hotel. He stayed at the hotel. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Let me ask you a question. We heard that. I have no idea about it. Um, who is your all time? Because mine happened last night. I'll tell you who it is. Who's your all time? That guy's way bigger than I thought he was. Athlete. Where you see him in person or you see him. He's like, he's that fucking big. Cause last night I knew O'Neill Cruz, the center fielder for the Pirates, was an athlete and a great athlete. I didn't know. He's six, eight, six, seven. Yeah. Six, seven. I mean, yeah, probably, yeah. Six, listen. I had no idea he was that big. He's four. Six, seven kind of rolls his shoulders a little bit. Yeah, I need it. Yeah. Well, yeah, he stood up straight with Cleats on. I dude is freaking tall. Yeah, I bet I bet if you get him like fully standing up. Yeah. Cleats on six, six, eight. Yeah, we're walking out the outfield and Nick Torraini, who was with me, said, look at Jake.
He looks adorable next to O'Neill. Yeah, I look like a child. Yeah, he looks precious. Yeah, he's also a Jack. He's just a specimen. He also stole your stuff yesterday the other day, right? He stole your alignment card or something like that. It looked like I saw someone tweet out. Oh no, no. It was a gatorade cup that fell off my cleat. Okay. And we were just messing with each other. He is just the nicest guy in the world, just the teddy bear. What is on an alignment card? I know that they exist and I know that I... Where are we stand? But like is it every single... The alignment. Is it literally every single batter? You study like a left handed batter with this pit, like what exactly? We have people that study where outfielders and infielders should stand to defend a hitter. Hitters typically have where they normally hit the ball. Yeah, so you just kind of try to defend that where a left filter... So for me it would be like you read a card, it would be like back to right three. So that's for... So you go on the line. Yeah, there's always a mark, like zero zero.
Yeah. And you read the card, it would be like lead off hitter, back to right three. And this is for every team. With the raise last year, with the Pirates this year, it's like, All right, I'm going to go back two steps, right three steps. And then the next thing that comes up, you go back to the mark. Into left two. Into left two. So that's just kind of where you... Sometimes it's right seven, left seven. I mean, there's a pretty wide gap. What's up, check it out. You know, I would just go running catch the ball wherever it's just go catch what I was. That is, that is the goal. Just go with the ball. Yeah, go where the ball is hit. That's what I, Oh, that's what we're talking about email. He stole this. Yeah. He is huge. So he's a giant. I had no idea. Seeing being ruthlessly bullied by lazy O'Neal Cruz. Oh, my goodness. You got ruthlessly bullied. What? What kind of tweet is that? Crazy. Crazy, silly. Why is he calling O'Neal lazy? That's a mocking moonshot. I don't understand that either.
O'Neal hit a ball last night. Wait, wait, wait, go back. Go back, was that? Oh, the one in center field. O'Neal hit a... Last night. This is last night. Oh, my God. That was a gatorade cuff that fell off my cleat. You're up nine. You had 14. Guys, guys, O'Neal hit a ball last night. 116 miles an hour off the bat. Whoo. And he didn't even get it. No, no, he didn't. Because his feet off the ground. His wall. No, that wasn't that one. It was the low line drive at the middle. His best bolt is 122 mile an hour ball off the Clemente wall. And right, Phil and Pittsburgh. I think it was last year. 122 miles an hour off the bat. Like, he's awesome. It's the hardest ball in the history of the game. Everything's imported. So he's got the hardest ball off bat in the game of baseball. Yeah, well, the one you... The one you hit at center field last night in the first inning was... Wasn't 116. So that was actually slower than the next base. Conner Griffin hit one last night too, though. I didn't see his exit be less. He's 20 years old. I know.
He's 20. Conner Griffin went back to back at Alcatraz too. We got away. We also have a conner Griffin. Yeah, our conner Griffin. Only person hit two home runs at Alcatraz. Back to back. We got a bigger issue. Yeah, we hit that with the conner Griffin. We got a bigger issue we got to deal with. What? You guys rest for a second. Last night, I'm sitting there. The... The... The... The Pirates sideline reporter. I believe her name is Hannah. Hannah was sitting on the field pregame doing her... Or, you know, how they always do their little setups. And she's doing her setup. And... Then she gets done. And I'm like, I'm not thinking about it. All of a sudden, a face just comes up over the dugout. I was like, hey, and it was her. And I was like, hey, how are you? And she said, uh, thank you guys for coming or something like that. I don't know. And she said, I love Conner Griffin. Not the Pirates Conner Griffin. You Conner Griffin. Yeah. But the... Why does she love Barstall Sports Conner Griffin? It's a Hannah Mears. She's a Penn State legend. She was in the Penn State Athletics Department as the student reporter. I then took over for her when she graduated.
She... Good friend. You were her understudy. Yeah. And she taught me a lot about the game, about sports broadcasting, everything. We did a podcast together one time. You and Hannah Mears. We go way back. Yeah. And she's crushing it right now for the Pirates. I told her to come in and see the office this week. So she's gonna... She might come in and stop by. Well, you guys are here for the whole week, right? Whole week? Yeah. All your boys from college are girls. That's right. It's not true. It's not true. That's what I've learned. I've never... Never seen one of your boys as actually a woman. Was she a member of the same National Association of Female Broadcasters that you were a member of? I think she was. I think she was in the Association for Women in Sports Media. Shout out awesome. And yeah, we got along great. It was a fun time back in college. And she was awesome. Had her job still is. And she's killing it. So, she had a conner join that to get chicks. I did not join it to get chicks. I joined it to be an ally in sports broadcasting with all my female colleagues. But then when you realized it was all... It was good. You got out of it, right? Because you weren't getting chicks. No, I got out of it because I wound up being the only guy left in the club.
And you were? And you still were getting... No, no, no, no. I left because... We went over this... We went over this... No point. No point. Boys, boys, boys, boys. When I joined the club, I was a freshman. And they were looking for more male members. Right. I joined... I joined... I joined... I joined and there were maybe ten or twelve of us. How did you learn about the club? How did you learn about the club? Because I went to the involvement fair as a freshman. And I was trying to see what clubs were available. And you saw all the chicks over there. No, there were only two girls at the table. And were they attractive? They're pretty girls. Yeah. But I was going there and they said we need more male members. We got 12 by freshman year. And then as each year went by... You got to join any group there that day at the involvement fair. And I did join other groups. But this is the one that you guys harp on. But it goes less and less and less each year. Where I was the only one left my senior year. And then there was a girl in our group chat for the club.
Who was like, hey, I know Conor's in this group chat. But I'm looking to get maybe like an IUD. Does anybody know anything about these? And I was like, I'm going to leave. I didn't realize Mark that he made it all the way to senior year. That means he got to this last year and he finally realized this ain't happened. I'm not going to do this every single year. I paid 25 dollars a year. You made eight semesters. You finally were like, ah. He paid money to not get laid. That was never the goal of money. That goal was to get critical experience and have a bunch of access to a bunch of different people in the field. No, no, no, no. We got like really cool people in the field to come to campus and talk to us and everything. And you learn your network. Anyway. Do you think if I ask... When Hannah Mayor stops by, if I say, hey, Hannah. When Conor was in college and he joined the association forum broadcasters. Do he do it because he wanted to help women or because he wanted to get chicks? What was she saying? I guarantee you it would be the first answer. It was not about getting women. It was about supporting women in the field and also, yes, learning and networking with people. And I'm sure you learn things that helps you with what you do now.
Absolutely. Thank you, Jake. I'll back them up there. I'll ask him to list one thing, Jake. List one thing. We learned, like we were taught by Lisa Salters on what makes a good report. How to build rapport with coaches and teammates and everything like that, not teammates with players. You've never built rapport with a coach. Yes, I have. Who? Matt Campbell. Literally three months ago when you went to... Your question was, why is it brand of Walker here? No, that did not ask that. That's how you built rapport. I did not ask that to Matt Campbell. Did Diana ever see any teachers? No, Diana never seen it. Not speak to us of the association. How to build rapport. By the way, shout out to Taylor McGregor, who's getting a lot of praise all across the board. And had a hell of a job that she did on Monday at the SMU Florida State Game. And it's now receiving a lot of praise. So shout out to her. Yeah, and while we're on the top, I got a shout out. I got Sterling. Sterling does a great job for Sterling. Sterling does a fantastic job for pirate socials and all the video stuff you see.
We got some great pre-game hype videos. Our city Connect Day. We do a special video. Sterling's done a knockout job, man. You texted me last night. Is it okay if that dipshit Sterling comes along with us? Is that what I said? Yeah. I'm sure that that's exactly what the tech said. You guys doing the y'all, as you walk into the club house, there's a question on the board type thing. I see a lot of content for those sports teams. Yeah, we like it. Sean Bowman does an educational video every day in our cafeteria eating room. Which is pretty cool because one day that there was a play that happened that helped me. That helped win us a game. And that day it was an educational video on the board of like this is what you do in this situation. And then three hours later we win a major league baseball game. Because we learned about it. So shout out, Bowman. Oh, wow. I've learned more about baseball from those videos than I had actually. We'll just be eating and be like, oh, I didn't know that. I mean, we're the major leagues and we're learning stuff every day.
What was the play about, for example? It was back in like May. I cannot remember specifically what the play is, but you've been, he knows I'm talking about it. It was something. So say there's a ball hitting the outfield and man's on first. Yeah. He steals and Jake lays out for the ball. It makes it a great play. But the runner thinks that the ball is going to drop. Yeah. So he crosses second base and touches second base. Once you get on the left side of second base, you have to touch second base again. Or third base, whatever it is. Sure. And the guy who ever was over to your plane did not do that. And everybody in our dugout screaming like throw it to second, throw it to second. And the umpire, because I think you can challenge that so it would have been out anyway. But the umpire was locked in on it. And like you could see in the replay, like he's staring at second base when he's going around. Yeah. The guy misses it with both of his feet. It goes the first base. There was a play at maybe at first base. And we throw the ball to second.
The umpire just punches him out. I didn't really know that. Yeah. But I mean, I assume that you'll learn. Because like you can't run across the field. Yeah. But I didn't really know. He like tried to touch it. Yeah. It was one of those like, whatever the call was, the team reviewed it. Like they were like challenge. And like it like zoomed in and the umpire just dialed in. And we learned about it that morning. Yeah. It's happened twice to us this year. Once it's like it once a third. Yeah. Both pretty big situations. Yeah. And like the, you know, the value of winning one major league baseball game is huge. Yeah. Because many games as we have, like everyone is extremely, extremely important. And we won a game because we learned from a, you know, pregame video in the lunchroom. Or watch, watch and learn and ball. Let me do a little business here. Um, classic rookie mistake. Today's Wednesday, September 9th, 2026. Is it not? Correct.
Good. I have the right sheet of paper. Classic rookie mistake. Not going to sport clips, haircuts. Guys come in looking like they've just been sucked by a 250 pound linebacker, but walk out looking like a first round pick. Sport clips, stylists have the playbook for a clean cut. They've mastered the X's and O's of men's hair. You get the kind of haircut that speaks for itself. You know the one where guys give you a nod of approval. It's a nod that says, I see you with your first team, all pro level haircut. You must have gone to sport clips. And it makes sense because sport clips is a place designed for guys to win and walk out with a haircut ready for the highlight reel. Sport clips, sport your look, choose your time, choose your stylists, check in online today. Sport clips. Who's your sport clips MVP? I have one. Yeah. You want me to say my sport clips MVP of this week? I would love for you to do that. American tennis player Ben Shelton, who last night in the Wii hours, in the Wii Wii hours, which like we can, we can talk about the bench. But I then I want to have a larger discussion. And Bubba is not in the long side. Yeah. I think you were on this. I watched a little bit of it. Yeah. And the Wii hours took down Carlos Alcarez, my go. Carlos Alcarez back in a major in tennis in a grand slam event.
And I thought he was going to coast. I thought like the first, the first set they played was was unbelievable. They had like one of the greatest points in tennis history. It was unbelievable. The crowds going crazy. I thought Alcarez was going to calm down, take care of business. I didn't watch. I don't know what happened because like it got to be. I really, I think this thing ended at like damn near 4 a.m. Eastern time. Um, I wake up to see the news that Ben Shelton will be playing Tiafo on Friday. So we have two Americans in the semi final in the US open on Friday. Ben Shelton though takes down Carlos Alcarez who with Yannick center out Brandon. Yeah. I thought Carlos Alcarez is the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the road has been paid for him. He wins the first set in a tie break. And it was like this is, this is his time. He's back. He's got the crowd. You know, to be a non-American, playing in American in the US open and people are still kind of cheering for you. It's crazy. Yeah. That's just how likable he is. How good he is. And he still went down. Bill, Ben Shelton got the win. I don't really know how it happened because it was so late. But Ben Shelton is my MVP. And then now I want to pivot to like talking about how late this game.
So it went to 3 30. It was like 428. I think it was a foul. 428 was a final. And Eastern time. Eastern time. Why? That's a good question. Why did that happen? I had no. When I showed up today and we were getting a prep for a wake up bar stool and it said, I had no idea this was happening last night. None whatsoever. I figured by the time I got home from the game, which was about 10 o'clock. All tennis, all sports, other than the West Coast games were done. And so I went on to bed. Didn't even think about it. Why? On a Tuesday night, why are we playing the three o'clock? That's what you're asking. And I think it was like scheduled this way. Like I think it was. I don't think it was like what time are they start? I don't think there was like a weather delay. There wasn't like some sort of there wasn't like the Florida state power outage. There was nothing like that. It was like, this is kind of how they planned it to go. Yeah. Which is fucking bonkers to me that you're you're playing in a massive met. So did the one before there go five sets too? I think so. I assume like every match. The only thing I don't know is to be true. And maybe we need bullet men in here. But in public, maybe you can correct me. But I think you were you were pitching though.
How would you know? You're I don't know, but I just got home. We got the hotel that it was on and I just watched a little bit of you watching a little bit of that. I think they played like every match yesterday on like the same court. Instead of like they have a handful of court and they wanted to do everything on the main stage. And then like all the matches went five sets. Yeah. I think I know TFO. I think the TFO one did. I don't know if it was yesterday. Do you see the TFO hug at the net with the guy and the guy cried into his arms? Yeah. Yeah. That was pretty tennis players are kind of crazy, dude. Are they? I don't know anything about tennis players. They're insane because it's like I think every individual sport is a little crazy. I guess you got a beer. Right. You got to be tuned up to be to win a little. That reminds me of the mockumentary seven days in hell. Yeah. Yeah. It seems to be what happened last night. It was the probably the biggest again, Blutman, if you're watching this would be a good time for someone who knows more than me to step in. Big time for a bar. I think it was like the biggest moment for American men tennis.
And it happened to three. And like God knows how this is Agacy and Samperous. Yeah. That happened at 4 a.m. Nobody watching. But Friday will be big for American tennis. Who's watching that beside the Blutmans? What a great picture of Liam right by right beside him. Is that actually him watching it last night? I posted a video last night just screaming at like three. Oh, he might not be here. He might be sleeping. Yeah. Okay. How was the crowd? Do we have, can you someone find like the final points? Give me all evidence of this match. Was it the crowd still there? Did people leave? Did I want to know? I guess you guys were asleep. Yeah. Yeah. What's the latest you've ever played? Do you ever have, do you have any games that like, is Jake you're saying they always get the game? Like SEC tournament, you had to have a game that went up. Yeah, my mind immediately went to the LSU SEC tournament game. Oh, the 18 inning game. Is that a game? Yeah. Yeah. That was 2019. Senior year? Senior year? Yeah. It started like nine o'clock.
It was nine p.m. first pitch. One of those SEC tournament games like four games throughout the day. So you really don't know when you start. But yeah. I think we finished. Oh, Connor, you get up. Blubbing. Blubbing, sit out. By the way, I want to apologize that we're assholes. Hey guys. Oh, there's a lot of night. And you don't have a chair. I'm sorry. Somebody get starting a chair. Carl offered several times. Okay. There's no room for other chair in here. There's just so much important stuff scattered around. Jake, finish, finish what you're saying. Yeah, just a three. I'm just happy. Liam is so good to see you. Happy to see you guys, too. It was 18 inning game. 18 inning game LSU, SEC tournament. Crowd state. Really? Well, that's state and LSU fans. Yeah, state and LSU fans. Oh, Hannah was telling me last night. She said everywhere we go in this country, everywhere. Y'all go. There's a group of state fans waiting to see you. Everywhere. Is that true? It's the coolest, craziest thing ever. Is there a state guy on White Sox? No. I didn't do that on purpose. Sorry. I don't even think I got a little miske.
I thought they had a little miske. Although the pirates have an Ole Miss guy, and last night he was hit in Jacob Gonzalez. He's an Ole Miss guy. And on the jumbo tron, it said Jacob Gonzalez, number whatever Mississippi state college. Oh, really? We got him from the White Sox at the deadline. He came from the White Sox and last night. Oh, they should have known. I know. Crazy. And then every bad, I kind of chuckle because he's an Ole Miss guy. You didn't see a Utah. It's a miske. I was miske. I'd be like, yes. Blutman, I love you. You look terrible. Really? You look terrible. He's really. Blutman, you look exhausted. I'm not exhausted. I can't walk. You look like the imprint of a horse. The imprint of a TV screen is on your face. You guys are trolling. So we had some questions. Could you explain what happened with the US Star? Oh, Jake's taking over the interview now. Blutman, I was texting with you. I think the last thing I said to you is, Alcarazza's my goat. I called this. He's the man. And then I went to sleep. And then I woke up and saw that he lost. Which I like Ben Shelton a lot, too.
If he's going to lose to somebody, Ben Shelton's a good guy. That's the right guy to lose to. That's the right guy to lose to. But what happened? Well, so you mentioned how crazy it is. International guy playing Queens against the American. Some people are triv'er. Let's go. Carlos Chancin, the fourth on the fifth set. And Ben was reading off of it. He got, he won a big point. He's like, come on. What about me? What about me? That was a point, Mattelviz. Did the crowd stay? The crowd stayed. But why was he? They took people from the upper deck and put them in the bottom. What time did it start? It's a point, Mattelviz. But why was the appointment at 3 a.m.? Why can't we have the appointment? So every match yesterday went the distance. Three of them, there were 16 possible sets. 16 sets got played. Three of them went to match tie breakers. Wow. So it's the day started at 10 30 a.m. Central. Ended at 2 30 a.m. Central. The match was supposed to start at 9 p.m. They were all doing it on, they have multiple courts though. Why were they all doing it on the court? You have to play it on Ash or you can't me?
You have to play it on the biggest stage. The quarter final? Yeah. The same thing. Four matches. Two women's matches starting on the men's play after. All in Ash. You have to do it like that. You have to. You have to. You have to. I understand not a lot of people are watching but there's something special and a bit intimate and really cool about saying never sleeps. Not a lot of people saying up to watch but those that are all sharing this and bonding over a great American moment. Now you got American versus American 9 11 winner goes to the final. Maybe the play the most hated man in tennis. Alexander Sveriv on Sunday. Are you the most hated man in tennis? Not even close. He's not wrong. I mean that is interesting. Yeah. I think you got an American hero. It's Yankees meds. Are they playing on Friday? Are they? Yeah. Yeah. Are they still? I walked into baseball seeing stuff. I mean I was kind of, I don't know if cool is the right word. You didn't go the game with me last night. I was watching tennis.
I was playing on stream intense the whole night and then I couldn't because of after dark. I didn't make a business. I said, I said go the game with me. You said, I can't go Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday or Sunday. I can go on Friday though. There is something about games like marathon games, I think. Someone needs to graph like how badly you want it to end because I do think it gets to a point where like I actually do want it to go forever. Like I wanted to, I think a tennis match gets to a point where I'm like actually I would love for this to go on for 12 hours. You'd like America to wake up to the tennis match? Yeah. Like your baseball game you're talking about I think like around ending like 13 or 14 I'm like they got to wrap this up. Once it gets like 16 I'm like nevermind. Make this go 30 innings. Like I want to witness history. I want to be like I'm here. I'm already going to be sleepy tomorrow. College overtime football. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Just make it go forever. Yeah. Yeah. Cause you kind of feel like you're witnessing something a story brand. In the moment we hated that game but looking back now I wish it would have been like 30 innings. Because now it's even better story.
Right. Yeah. I played in a 30 in the baseball game. The Joel win. Yeah we won. I think we didn't win the tournament. We won that game. I think one that came two to one. Like it wasn't exactly exciting. It was one to one for 18 innings. Just a pitch. Was it Luke Alexander? I can't remember who got that hit. Gunner Halter. Yeah Gunner Halter of course. I'm not definitely remember that name is gunner. No, not Zack Palms guy I guess. Can I just say you sold the US open so well right there? I think like that was unbelievable. I was like whoa. Who know that these two are great friends. You should know. Yeah. You were the one telling me about his Pokemon. Loves the ones you see the bats. Yeah I did. I tried to give him. You told me about it. I tried to give him a give the show of the bats and he won't do it. Yeah. He's too much money to be bringing him to Chicago. Huh? I didn't bring him to Chicago. Yeah you just I just said can you give it because we got a lot of Pokemon people here. Can you give us one and and and you said no I'm going to make so much you said chitching. I'm going to make so much cash on these. No but the offers have been kind of crazy man. Really? Look at that. Did you feel a little too nerdy asking for these bats?
Yeah not I mean no I'm broke. I mean I got to hit with a Venus for bat and just had a really bad day with a charizard bat. I didn't play didn't play Sunday so I didn't use blast toys but yeah. So blast toys didn't even make it. Blast toys is a is a nonused. Nonused bat. Yeah. Yeah. Would they let you use that like no it's just players weekend just just for the weekend. Show up with it. If you showed up if you let off the next game after players weekend and brought that bad up with the Empire Stop the Games. Oh my god. You're the Empire in the corner. The Cardinals game would would would could your fucking head off. You walk on the my field with the last toys. If I had to guess it would be I wouldn't do it but if I had to guess it would be a fine I sure MLB would find you if I had to guess but yeah that was a wild. Yeah. That was something.
You see the bottom comment on that post? No. What's it calling him an herd? We pulled that last post. Jamie pull it up. I see Bubba Chandler is doing what he does best and not helping us in game. Haha. Wait, I was pulling up. Wait. Wait, wait, wait. This is the post by Vance. Good fine. How was. Where? What the what? I know. What does Bubba Chandler do? That's Brandon Laos. What uh what was players we can? Dodger series. Do we play? Oh the Dodger series. I mean. Oh wait, what was Jacob who can always be back? Uh that's an anime. One piece I think. I don't know. Why are y'all such nerds in baseball? I mean dude like I know. I don't think that's a noise. It's not one piece. They're nerds and they're in great shape. Yeah. They care their bodies. Fly all over the country. The days of like God forbid we have a hobby away from baseball.
You know. Well here's what football. That's cool hobby. Cool hobby. Pokemon. Pokemon. Pokemon. Um. But let me do bring something up that is important. And guys I'm going to ask you to indulge me just for just a second. Because last night I told or yesterday on the show I told the story of a player. A great player. Great Mississippi State player. Yep. A legend. Um. I'm currently in and you guys are nerds. But I'm currently in year 10 of my dynasty of college football 27 with Mississippi State of one seven straight national championships. I've won. I've had seven straight high school winners. Um. Things are things are going well and starful. And the legendary Zach Parms in the year 2035. The uh. The junior receiver from. That's right. Report Louisiana. That's Zach Parms. Uh. I told you guys I would take a picture of him. There's Zach Parms movie star movie star. Good looks. Uh. Uh. He looks like the guy that invented Oculus blowing blowing long blonde hair. Um. 99 speed. Uh.
Uh. He's he's just a great player. Shreeb Hall, Louisiana. Elite development trait. I don't know what you want from this guy. I got everything. He had 119 catches. There's a sophomore. Look at that IQ 97. Real coach on the field type of guy. Uh. So that's Zach Parms. I also got to picture a cocoa basketball if you wanted one, but I. Basketball basketball. Yeah. So. I got a hundred 14 catches for 1900 yards and and and 19 touchdowns guys. Guys, a legend. There's cocoa basketball basketball looks sweet. So. So yeah. There's Zach Parms. I told you Zach Parms was a legend. He doesn't look like he's good. Oh. It looks like it looks like Brandon tried to get his hair and beer. Oh, it's a great player. This is a. Did you customize him? Guys, that's Zach Parms. Uh. I did not customize him. He wouldn't be 5, 1195 pounds if I had customized him. There it is. He was big. Uh. But like look at his ripped. He's got the long flowing hair. Zach Parms. I don't know what to tell you.
I tried to play in the NFL 15 years ago and then came back. Yeah. Chad Parms. 10 powers. Are you, uh, is he going to run out of eligibility? I'm worried about. I'm worried about. Hey, I'm worried about losing him to the pro draft this year. Uh, uh, uh, in fact, I pulled back on him using him a little bit. Cause I got, I mean, yeah. James and Humphrey's on the outsides. I'm believe it was right. But, but, but anyway, Zach Parms. I got one. I got a year and a half left for them. You think they'll put that in the new game, like moving forward. But then you can sue and, uh, EA sports college football. Like EA sports college football 28. You can just like. Consensive judge. Yeah. Just load. There's a lot. There's a lot of you to die. You just are a lawyer. Just got. Yeah. What do you pick? I'm, I want to be a lawyer instead of a coach. I want to be a lucrative college football lawyer. I wrote the call. I'm a lawyer. I'm a lawyer. I wrote the glory starts as a judging great vine. I'm a bit of a clerk for a little bit. But, but you could play 15 years and make some baseball and then go back and play at Clems. Yeah. Yeah. That's the plan. You know, 35 years old running down the hill. That would be great. I, I'm going to say something. Just, I'm the number one cost for blackspot and I'm going to be able to get by nose that.
I would like for you, your feedback here. You want to play with me. I'm going to play with you. I'm going to play with you. I'm going to play with you. I'm going to play with you. I'm going to play with you. I would like for you, your feedback here. You went there as a recruit and everything. I fell in love with the place. I'm sure. I thought the hill and, and the rock at Clemson were among the most underwhelming things we've ever seen in college football. I'd heard big stories about it. I go there and I'm like, this is, this is the rock. This is it. This is all we got. Thoughts. Did you, did you go on like a, like, was there a game being played? Yeah, it was text, it was text saying now, uh, Clemson 2019. They were coming off the National Championship game Trevor was still there. Yeah. It was a big game. I don't understand the getting the bus and drive around thing. Also, the, that's the facility. The facilities right across the park. Yeah. It's right over there and they get on a bus and go around. Yeah. That's always a little weird, but they're well. We're like the game locker room is on the, the western zone or you say whatever. It's on the other side. It's like, you'd like have to go all the way around.
Yeah, it's impossible to go from one end of a football field to the other. Well, it was just, yeah, I mean, yeah, you need a bunch. Cool walking up the hill. Sure. But, but it won't take this shit from him. That's our, that's our thing. He's a, his thing is a fucking cowbell. Cowbell, yeah. So like, this should be state. You got a, you got a, you got a, you got a, you got a, you got a, you got to sit here and take this thing. Minnesota this weekend. Don't worry about that. That's a, I'm a little, okay. I'm a little nervous about it. Well, it's a road game in week two. That's tough. In an NFL stadium. In an NFL stadium. Have you seen that quarterback? Yeah, I think he's got a good, the man in passing academy. They were, they were, they were even about it. Oh, come on. Did you watch him? What year is he? What? He's a sophomore. We were, we were playing, but I watched, I watched after I watched all the highlights. He'll get them to six months. I like, I like the sound of that. He'll get them six months. Can it, Bubba? So you'd have, he'd have, I mean, assuming like he doesn't get like the courts involved, he's, he'd have at least like two years of eligible. He's not going to, I mean, he's, he's going to go pro every, he's going to be okay.
Yeah, he might be number one pick after this year. How much you all paying him? Huh? How much you all paying him? Going to be a lot more next year. Yeah. It's, uh, whatever it is, it's going to be more. Blutton remind me Julian saying he's draft eligible this year? Yes. Yeah. Yes. So Ohio State might need a court. You're in the market. We might need a, okay. I don't think Ohio State's going to be able to outpid, mang him and Walker. Okay. So, so just, by the way, um, so, so I showed you this picture, right? Uh, now you would think that, that, that these two, these three gentlemen, one right off, one right off camera, would have learned their lesson. Me and Jacob already made plans this morning to run it back. So, which game? Not, surely not. You're not going to Texas. No, no, that's, that's an awesome, awesome guy. Yeah. Maybe. Maybe. But you are going to, maybe you're going to Starkville again. We got the Alabama game. You're going to, maybe. Oh, no. I hope to not be there. Oh, that's true. You're in playoff. I, I, we are, we are fighting like hell to not be there. What about the egg bowls?
Is it in Starkville? No, it's in the election. I feel like it's wonderful this year for you guys. We got some good home games. You know, we got Alabama open. The whole Mrs. Secondary's, you know, I, I'm, I'm seeing shootout. I don't love after Minnesota. It goes road road, SEC games. Yeah, I think we'll lose this Oscar Alina. That's a tough place to play, man. I'll never forget the Alabama loss when Latamore was there. Yeah, 2010. Yeah. No, they're, they're very good. Um, yeah. I don't know what else. Ferry's by state limited time offer. Uh, Bloodman, uh, Jake was telling us earlier he likes duck hunting. Do you like duck meat? Yeah, I like duck meat. Do you like, uh, what? Do you like, uh, what? Walk over here and bend over meat? I know I don't actually. We should play the clip for. I think, I think Jake, you're right. If you've seen the loop, I just actually don't like duck meat. I don't. Oh, you actually answer it. No, I had genuine, like, I'm just. Have you seen the clip? Maybe it's some jalapeno poppers. Maybe, but like, no, I haven't seen the clip. I would like to see the clip. All right. Well, actually, let me. We have three or four clips to show you guys. Yeah, we have a segment on the show I do with Bloodman called is this funny. I'm going to do it with with with Bubba maybe. Could is that okay? So Bubba, we're going to show you a clip. You tell me, do you find this funny? You put your headphones on your headphone's on. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Headphones on. You just watch this. Connor, sleep on the couch. Just watch the clip and say if it's funny or not.
Yeah. Connor ruins the headphones situation by sleeping on the couch early in the morning. I apologize about that. This is shit all over the floor too. Hold on, TJ. Ah, they're on. Okay, let's go. I'd eat damn Scottish Terrier if I could. They're beautiful. Bring one up. Look how cute they are. And I'm saying only if things got real bad. I'm not doing, I'm not running in with them. Petco and doing it. Scottish Terrier. Bring up the white one. I like the white ones. I'm open to whatever, but wait for it. I grew up around a couple white ones. Look at them. You eat that? If you were real sick. Yeah. I don't know if you're going to get it in mind. I had to get somebody to throw that dog whisper. Remember that guy? Well, so have you ever had elk meat? I had reindeer somewhere. That breaks your heart, but I've had a little. Do you like duck meat? I've never had it on thing. Duck on down here and get some of this meat. Oh, God! I got to get out of here. Dude, that is a great, that's a duck cutting joke.
And I got to get to the ass. Same food. Dude, he's so fucking proud of himself. He's so proud of himself. That's fucking great. You started. That thing got set up 30 minutes ago. What did you brought up meat, baby? I've been waiting 30 minutes to hit you with that chicken. I've been waiting 30 minutes. So there it is. That's a loop prime. It's classic duck hunting joke. Yeah, you know. We kind of hate loop prime on the show. Yeah. Kind of hate him. Yeah. I mean, it's like, is that one on the clubhouse, though? Don't be afraid. You're like, duck meat. Yeah. We need to do a Jared Jones today. Jared? Yeah, you're Jared. He'll like that one. I'm gonna try to get Henry Davis without... I set that up. How did you set that up 30 minutes ago? Why do you know? Set that up 30 minutes ago. What does that mean? He was 30 minutes. All right, stop talking so I can say the duck meat that. Stop, stop. Here? No. No, no, no. I said that.
I said that. You're unbelievable. NFL's back tonight, Brandon. Yes, NFL's back. Super cool rematch. Your thoughts on that. So yesterday... We had a discussion, Mark. Yesterday, you made the point that you actually don't mind. That they're playing on a Wednesday. Philosophically, I hate it. These Wednesdays. And you guys really, you'll play so much. You just have no idea what day it is. Yeah. We constantly do not know the day. Yeah, I thought it was Thursday because of the first game. So you spoke on, you spoke on an NFL game on a Wednesday night. You said, you don't mind it as much. What about the idea of the first game of the season being a Super Bowl rematch? It's the last game of the season. I like that. I like that. I like that. I like that we've leaned, I guess, the last 20 years. The Super Bowl champ always plays on this night. So that's good. It being a Super Bowl rematch is awful aggressive. But I think for the Patriots, it's great because they have to answer the question where they scheduled merchants last year. Right. So they're going the road to a team that embarrassed them in the Super Bowl. They had an awful lot of distractions in the off season.
So this is an opportunity. Now, Drake Mays got to prove that he's an actual top level quarterback and league. And what better way than to go on the road to the Super Bowl champs the next week. Now, what I have to talk about is the Rams are in the air right now. The Rams are there right now. The Rams are, if they were leaving 24 hours before kickoff, the Rams are in the air right now. And they're going to a straight, and they play a game in Australia tomorrow night. There's just no way. Yeah. Boys, if you had to play baseball game in Australia tomorrow, or let me ask you like this. If you had a big game to play, is 24 hours after a 20 hour flight enough time to recuperate, or do you need longer than that? And these guys are playing football, not a sport like baseball. When are they, what games tomorrow? Games tomorrow night, our time at like what, seven, six or seven? Yeah. Yeah. Something like that. Are they landing the morning of, or are they landing today? They're landing today. They'll have one sleep in the no play. I don't know. Australia.
Australia fucks me up. I mean, shoot, dude. I think I'd rather get there like four or five days in advance or... Yeah, I mean, that would be perfect. But if they were leaving like, I'd probably rather get there in the morning. Day of? The game with that schedule, yeah. Because if you have, if you have, you know, 15 hours to sit on and sleep on it, like, I would wake up. My back would just be... Yeah. And I'd... I mean, I don't know if you'd be jet lag at that point. Oh, you'd be before the jet lag. Yeah. You'd be like the day after the game. I see you would just get... You either have to fly, you either have to fly in the day of or fly in like a week before. Yeah. I think with the 49ers, right? They've been there like a lot of times. Yeah, I feel like that's... Yeah, they were probably wearing it the first day or two, but... This from yesterday. So, that's ridiculous. It's from Elburn tonight. Wednesday's a lost day travel. Yeah, that's like, yeah, that's like, soon-ish. Tomorrow, they'll be playing on Friday. Is it tomorrow morning in Australia? Today is tomorrow. There. Today is already tomorrow. Today is tomorrow, but tomorrow... They played tomorrow here. They played tomorrow here, they played Friday. Okay.
You got it? 10.30 a.m. Friday. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. This is the 30 a.m. Friday in Australia. Right. Local time. September. Fly back to the US immediately after landing Los Angeles midday Friday. 30 hours on an airplane, 15,000 miles, 7 times on a playful football game, and technically be back in Los Angeles. Listen, 72 hours after leaving. I don't know. We got to see it. I mean, if they play well then... What if they're geniuses? Maybe they are? You know who's not on that plane. You're not on that plane. Aaron Donald, not on that plane. Oh, really? Not on that plane in Week 1. Interesting. which I know that they can say all they want. We just needed for December and January. We need to get ready. It's a 35 year old man who you're not taking on playing the playing week one. That all of this super team talk.
I do have the ages is hanging over this team like the sort of something. And listen, I know he's in great shape, but I know he's got the videos that he's still putting out of him just throwing weight around like it's nothing. But I do have to believe that there's a difference between like just lifting weights and getting hit in the face and playing football, right? Yeah, I have a thing. I have to believe that they're like muscles deep in his joints that he hasn't been engaging, you know, as he's just kind of like throwing weight around in his home gym. Maybe I'm wrong. I don't know. I mean, the competing part of it too. Yeah. He hadn't been genuinely truly competing the last two years. Yeah, nobody's been trying to put it there. I guess the argument is like they don't need him. So like even if he's not that good. Yeah. I guess my wife here. It is on a plane. Yeah, there's still going to be the best team. And then I felt probably their D line is ridiculous. Nasty. I um, what's up, chicken heads? We're going to take a quick break now for a message from one of our partners. It's Fran from chicks in the office. The weather is getting cooler and Abercrombie's fall drop
has everything I need for the season. The best selling A and F Sloan Taylor pant is a closet staple for me. I'm always wearing it to work events. Happy hour anytime. I want to be a bit more dressed up. And the viral Dylan dress is easy. One and done perfection. But my fall uniform will always be denom pair with a Henley sweater, a bra free top. It's comfortable effortless. It just never fails. Find your fall capsule at Abercrombie, shop in the app online and in stores. All right, back to the episode. Cowboys won the Super Bowl. Is that so? Cowboys over the bills in Super Bowl. That's that's what that's my expert pick. Yeah, uh, Dak Prescott in VPC season loading. Uh, I like the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl. I do think the Rams all this Super team talk is too much. I quarterback 38 years old, Mark. Yeah, that's right. He's 38 years old, Mark. And I know it's MVP last year, but, um, that was precedent setting. But can you imagine going back to back being that good at 38 and 39 years old, whatever it is, 37, 38 years old. It's crazy. So I don't like the Rams as the heavy favorite.
Seahawks, it doesn't feel like the vibes around them are great. You know, you got to run a game issue. Why is that? Uh, Iman Worry's going to be, uh, he's not going to play tonight, right? Yeah, he was questionable. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. I just don't feel like the vibes. You, Jake, do you have to get, if y'all have to go, that's fine. No, I was seeing who you picked as a Super Bowl champion. Yeah. Dallas Cowboys. That's right. I got Dak as a fantasy. So great. You don't think Jdaire and Price for the Seahawks is going to be good. He's going to be good. But again, did they run him at all in the preseason? Like this is going to be a rookie running back going up against the New England Patriots and game one of his entire career. Like is he going to run for 150 yards? A little trash, man. Kenneth Walker left. He's on the ice. Right? Who else did they lose? So the Charbonne is not ready. Charbonne is just not ready. And Jdaire and Price, the number two back from Notre Dame last year, who's elite is going to be a shatter. Yeah. But he's a rookie. He's a rookie. He never carried a ball in the NFL in his entire life. And we'll be the starting running back. And what's, you know, you can do that running back. You got, I wouldn't recommend doing it a quarter back. But tonight, notwithstanding, it feels like the Seahawks
are maybe a little slighted as Super Bowl. Well, yeah. There's a team in their division that says, yeah, in terms of the totality, I mean, what are they? They're not even, they're not even the second Super Bowl favorite on draft games, right? They're like, really worth or something? Let me pull it up. Let me pull it up. Pull that up. Back's matter. I can't be just saying shit. Unless I in the betting world, I, I would not back to back winners. Yeah. I mean, yeah. What do we got? Super Bowl. Maybe draft. We have the Rams are the favorite plus 500. The Bills and Ravens are both plus 1,000 and the Seahawks are plus 1,200. So they're fourth. So that's slighted. I would have enjoyed it. I feel like it's a little slighted. I don't know. Yeah. And the Rams being in their division, they've been two out of three times last year and feeling for the NFC championship. I guess they were. I would feel slighted. Yeah. I just feel like, you know, we've got all the evidence that a heavy favorite like the Rams are, it just very rarely works out for a Super team in the NFL the way you wanted to. Such a hard damn league. And having a 38 year old quarterback means your margin for error.
His gap between himself being healthy and injured are very small at this point in life. So I don't know. I don't like him as a favorite. How would you rank the four major sports and difficulty of winning the championship? Difficulty how? For people brand just said, it's so hard to win the Super Bowl. I think the NFL has the most bunched up teams. So hard to win this time. I got the hardest trophy in sports to capture. I think the margin, the margins in the NFL are so razor sharp because that salary cap and everything is so tight that, you know, you got to make a decision. You got to be weak here. You got to be strong there. The margins of the NFL between team one and team 16 is not nearly as big as is in baseball or basketball, especially basketball. Hockey, Hockey's just such a crap shoot because the post season's so goddamn long. You know, right? The post season is three months long and it's almost like a war of attrition. But I still say football. I just don't see Super Bowl champs outside of the,
you know, the chiefs, but you don't see, you just don't see it happen at all. Super Bowl champions, there's one every year. No, I mean, go back, repeat and stay there at the top. Is that, is that we might back to back or just winning in general? Just weighing in general. Yeah. It's a matter of what you deem as hard because like part, I would probably tend to say being in a league where it's like top heavy would make it harder because if you're not on the one of the two or the three teams that have the chance to win it, like hockey is hard except for like, you could be at a seven seed, right? And have a hot gold tender. Same sort of thing with baseball. Is it like sexy gold? Yeah, very sexy. Handsome, like flips his hair, when he takes his helmet off. Same with baseball, I don't know. What do you think about baseball? Because like the Dodgers feel inevitable, but they're also, I mean, we've been talking about it. Every time we talk about the Dodgers and Evidentibility, it's like they were very... They could have been beat last year. They could have been beat last year. They could have been beat that the Padres had him the year before, you know? I think, yeah, I mean, the Dodgers have won back to back,
right? And you know, they've been to a handful of World Series in the last, you know, five, six years. But I think baseball is one of the sports that guys can hit the ball 120 miles an hour in a king and caught. And the guys can break their bat and hit the ball 25 miles an hour and that could turn into a triple. Right. And it's... So there's no way to really tell, but I mean... I got a stat right here. I just... I had to Google it because I knew this year was... there was still a lot of teams fighting. There are 17 games left remaining in the Major League season. 27 out of 30 teams still have a mathematical chance of making the playoffs. That's pretty crazy. That's crazy. That's crazy. We talk about how the NFL is all bunched up. Yes, you're right. Any given Sunday. Totally agree. Sure. Totally agree. I'm not disregarding that. But it is September 9th. And there's 27 teams that still have a... At least a 0.1% chance of making the playoffs.
And I know each day that's going to go down, down, down, down. But I mean, that's pretty crazy, man. Like, that's a lot more than what I would have guessed preseason. Also, baseball is that sport where if one team gets hot in September or October, they're just... Yeah, the rain's the time back. Last year's go. Last year, the Cleveland Guardians were like 12 games back in Detroit and flipped and ended up making the playoffs. Maybe one of the division. One of the division? Yeah. You're right. They did the way they did the vision. My answer might have been baseball when it was the division winners in one wild card. Not all that made the playoffs. Yeah. Because you got to be good all year. Yeah, to play 162 games, you have to be good all year. A lot of things have to go right. Yeah. But now that's a little more expanded, I feel like. Yeah, you can kind of sneak in, get a little hot. Yeah, no doubt. I like the new format. Yeah, I think three wild cards teams just keep it really exciting. Yeah. I never know. Ebo, should we watch the Rockies catcher play? Yeah, this is weird. I don't know. Jake McCarthy comes up firing to home play. Yeah. Actually, not even firing is kind of getting the ball in.
Jake, bro. Good player. Did you guys see this play? No. Not off the top of my head. I saw it. I think the caption Barstall put on it was the catcher's controller diet on this play. And it's a perfect description because I don't know what's happening. Yeah. Then we're going to play it, though. And just start by the way. Like you said, a dude. Dude. Good. Good. All right. Checking it. All right. But I'm going to get it. Right. Oh. There. I knew it was your base for me. All right. Oh, shit. Oh, shit. That's an error on McCarthy as well. Yeah. Probably that's probably two errors in one that way. You mean for the throw? Yeah. The outfielder will get two errors for that play. How many errors you got this year? Do you know off top of your head? Two. Two. Were they real errors? Or do you think he got true at all?
I don't know. I'm just too announced about average, though. Yeah. I will say if there's. I was understaffed. I think y'all are screwed because outfielder errors. You know, infielder makes an error. OK. Took a bad hobby. Outfielder errors, you just there's no. You're just on an island by yourself. Yeah. My first major league error was like a one hopper. And I remember the ball went a completely different direction where it should have gone. Shot the other way. Shot the other way. And so we try to quantify everything in the game of baseball now. Like there is a stat for literally everything, especially to the point of exhaustion almost. And I think it's a great tool. But I think you can really dive way too far into it. So I'm curious where you guys fall. NL rookie of the year race has kind of come down to like South Stewart with the Reds and JJ Weatherhole with the Cardinals. A lot of people are pointing to JJ Weatherhole waiting because of his defense. How do you guys respond to like the defensive metrics,
like you said, because like it's very imperfect. I can only speak for outfielder on this. I think you're NL MVP is PCA. I do. But as far as rookie of the year goes, South Stewart's, I think he's 30 home runs now. Over 100 RBIs. We don't watch enough baseball to really break this down. I don't go home and watch other baseball games. But it's going to be really hard not to give rookie of the year to someone with 30, 100 like that. Really difficult. And as far as defensive metrics go, I can always speak for outfielder. And talking to other outfielder, this isn't just, this isn't a hot solo take. Like talking to other outfielder that also do it. I think outfiel metrics defensively are really poorly. Like it's a tool. I use it as a tool to try to get better. But it is absolutely not gospel.
Every single like lap playing last night, I had a routine fly ball hit to me in Chicago last night, White Sox. That ball went eight different directions because it was a windy night. And the wind, you look at the flags and each flag next to each other was pointing in a different direction. Yeah. And we measure outfield plays by launch angle, how hard it's hit. There's all these quantifiable things that they try to put on numbers. But every ball is different. It's like my rookie year last year, the two biggest plays I got docked on was two balls that hit halfway up the green monster because it should be caught. Right. But it's a short wall. Yeah. And it's just like, there's just so many flaws with it. And if that's the case, you can't take it as gospel. Like that's my opinion. But and other outfielders, we talk about this all the time because like we'll catch a ball and be like, we do that was a 78% catch. Yeah. Like, how? And then sometimes you catch some catch balls that are 25% catch probability.
It's like, dude, that's routine. Was there, I'm just putting this together. Was there a thing from Milwaukee we were supposed to ask Jacob out? We did. I'm kind of asked him about it in person. So there was a play. Jake, were you playing center in Milwaukee? Well, he was looking up. Yeah, we asked him about it. I think we asked him about it on the show. We asked him on the show. I put it left center right. I move around. But there was a home run by somebody. Oh, I know what you're going to. There was a home run by somebody in the game. I don't remember talking about it. We didn't talk to him about it. We talked about it. We tried to defend him. OK, here was a home run. I tried to jump up and catch it. It wasn't catchable. And it brings like, you thought you could catch up. OK, let me just say it was a home run. I flipped it. I went over center field. And it was 25 feet up the wall. And you jumped like you could rob it. That will happen. I'm going to defend you, Jake. I'm here to. And you told me there's an overhang. There is. And you can't tell. There is. But like, they'll never be a ball that I don't think
that'll ever come straight down. But I think we found evidence of another center field or that. It was PCA. Yeah, somebody did it. I asked the PCA did the exact same thing where he jumped and it was way over his head. So I think we ended up on the side that it was just wall in Milwaukee. Is that me? No. It's true. Loading, loaded. Can't beat me. Yeah, I'm certainly not me. I'm on your side here, Jake. All right, so you popped it. All right, I got it. Got it, guys. Got it. I'm in a Henry A. OK, all right. In my defense, that wasn't my best job. I'm not like that wasn't all your effort. That wasn't like a 100% effort job. Yeah, OK. Yeah, now two. I gave up a home run this year that I watched this dude and size up. And I'm like, come on, Jake. Come on, come on. It was 40 feet over the top. I'm like, I'm sitting on the mound. You know what? You know, here's my thing with this. I went from getting out of the inning to giving up three runs. And well, here's my thing. Give me four. If I don't jump, it still goes where it goes.
If I do jump, it goes where it goes. Yeah. I get it. I get it. You got it. You think I'll be your crews would have caught that? Six foot 10. You just want to jump up and snag it maybe. Last night, you gave up a, you know, you pitch. Bob's like, he got teal. Teal got you. Teal got you hit one. Hit one out. But I don't know if you saw it. The guy in right field, the fan did a sweet ass one handed catch. Where you were like, she didn't say it. So I saw, I said it was in right field. Is there a world where you saw that if you saw that fan catch it, you've been like, wow, sweet catch dude over you just should be an out banana ball. OK. Yeah. Yeah. When he hit that ball, I don't know if he was trying to see my, I was trying to see an ass for me. I was trying to front door sinker and I did. Yeah. Pretty good. I did it most of the game and teal got me on it. Yeah. And so I threw it and he, I heard the crack. I'm like, no, I turned around. I just see if I was not moving. And it's like, oh, that's, that's way gone. And so I just, to me, turned around and asked for a new ball.
OK. And see that. I need to watch that. On a no doubt or home run, you try to find the cliff, DJ. On a no doubt or home run, would you rather your outfielder go kind of do what Jake did on the play we just showed and like make an effort, even though there's no chance. Talking effort or if a guy just doesn't even do, is that? Well, I think it depends like, like, Jake was on the last night at the White Sucks field is the win was just everywhere. Like, I didn't mean that ball was crushed, but I also saw some of us, some of our guys hit balls that were crushed that did not go. Yeah. Yeah. And so like, you don't know. But that ball, he hit that ball pretty well. So it was, you know, cutting through the wind. It's like, yes, I'd, I'd want them to like, I mean, that was a bomb, dude. Yeah, that was a bomb. It was a bomb. Yeah. Oh, yeah. It kind of ruined my outing in a way. And yeah, I mean, we were winning, but it was like, that's, but it was a bomb. I fell behind two. Oh, and I grooved in the heater. He made a great sling. I guess that dude owns me. Hi, I'm double.
Oh, my god. Yeah. So we played in the futures game a couple years ago, through him a change up three feet outside and he had a double down a lifted line. Like, dudes, I struck him out. He probably doesn't care. But I struck him out his first at bat last night. Last night. All right. All right. So wait, that's a pretty good reaction. That's a pretty good reaction to a count. I struck him out last night and I was, but the guy was fired. The second one handed catch in the White Sox stadium this week. The other one was way better. Yeah, but this one didn't still happen. Yeah. Oh, he stuck that. Oh, and the stair down. That's good. He's like, yes, I just. I just. The season. Calthea owns me. I think my biggest nightmare as an outfielder would be like, this is probably why I'll run after every Homer, but it's like to like not move and say, oh, that ball's gone. And just for whatever reason, it stays in the yard. And you're just standing there.
Is that would be yeah, just see a few years last night? No, I didn't. What I couldn't use it. Whoever they were playing, I think it was the Tampa Bay. This dude hit a ball far and Akunya is just sitting there under like this, like getting ready to catch it. And it goes a hundred feet over his head. Oh, I didn't see it. He just he just deaked him. And I was like, that, that would piss me off. But mainly I'd be pissed off because I just give up bomb. Yeah. You gave me a chance of hope with you standing under it. Like, okay, maybe that's where your eyes go first, the outfielder. Yeah, 100%. You see the crack and you turn around and you just hopefully, Jake's getting ready to catch his phone. I gave up a Homer to the Debra's last week. And it just, it went barely just over the center field wall and cruises in center field and yeah, like we tried to use. And our wall in center field, it's pretty tall. But I see him like getting back to the wall and I'm like, there may be a chance. But then it went over, you know, a little bit. But yeah. And the set ever throw it. It is tall.
But again, like he's tall. Cruises three, 40 inch vertical, 27 foot eight. Have you had the experience in your young career yet where you throw like a perfect pitch and it's still, they still take the yard? Like, oh yeah. Like what, what is your thought when that happens? Are you like, I did my job. I was just a better hit or are you like tortured by the idea of like, even my best pitch or like, even me doing exactly what I tried to do. It wasn't good enough. So, yeah, it sucks. And again, that's why I've said it a couple times jokingly that hitting is not that hard because you do stuff like that and then they get you. The hitting is incredibly hard. But yeah, like last year is my third appearance in the big leagues against the Dodgers at home. I actually have a record in the big leagues. Show Hey, it was a, it's two in count. I blew a heater by him or something like that. And Henry, the catcher, he's called a fastball low or in and low and he sets up low and
I stick it. Hundred bottom in just nutted best pitch. And like, he comes out of my hand. I'm just like, oh yeah. It's still hit at 120 miles per hour. It's just, it's like the hardest hit, Homer ever off of 100 mile power fastball or something. Oh, congratulations. Yeah. That's amazing. Yeah, that's the record. And then fast forward a year, I faced the Dodgers a couple weeks ago, Max Muncie, though a heater like 102 up and in, he turns on and hits it. 15 rows up. How is that possible? Exactly. Hitting stuff at that heart. Yeah, right. No, it's. Oh, yeah, I'm going to have to show it. So in right now, no, no, this ain't me. Oh, this is okay. Yeah, watch it. He's got it, he's got it. Yeah, I mean, yeah, ball hit the chop out. Yeah, that's number eight. It's Otani, the biggest, the biggest bomb off of you in the big. That ball barely went out. Oh, okay. Yeah, he hit it so low barely went out, but it was 120. All right, big spot.
Why were just doing highlights? Early day, the crew's had a night last night. I saw, I saw like a, I didn't see the highlight. I just saw like a, well, a headline or something that he had a, he had a relay throw. He's a guy I love to. He can't even call it a relay. Him and no, no, are like two division guys as a cup span that I'm like, I just can't get enough of these guys. Yeah, they're so like, they're very similar. Yeah, they're just so fun. They're ginormous athletes that can run. Yeah, yes, it's really fun to watch. I want to see what he did last night, because I saw people talking about it. Mark, you're not. I'm prepared to wear. He's standing for the first time. He throws the ball. This time, this is the center. Myers coming on. Oh, no. Oh, no. He's a double. Hernandez shoots up to second. Myers and hopper. Super blue day. Hernandez motoring for guard. All right. Good. Good. Go on. Stand, bro. What a relay by LA. Dayla Cruz. The kind of. He was through the center field. And it's just like standing where the center builder. Yeah.
That's what they want to find crazy. Fans. They're. Yes, we talked about Miss Rostri's basketball game. 105. Oh, my gosh. That. Oh, my God. 105 without winding up on the mound. Yeah. That's crazy. What's your best bubble on like a pull down just like an offseason? Just go up throw. Never done a. I'm not done pulled off. Like never. Like with Velo. Yes. But. What? Bowl Tevers. 102. 102. Yeah. Strike. We'll do the grit. Strike. We got to do the grid before we do, though, Brandon. What is this graphic you put on the prepshoot? You know, this was just, I sent in a group chat last night because I saw it. We can save it for tomorrow. It's a lot of mostly. No, I want the pirates. Okay. I want the pirates to dress. It's a classic. What pill would you take? It's like. This feels like a Pittsburgh pirate question. It's like, I've ever seen one. It was like, what pill would you take? But instead of like it being like a bunch of good things like.
Uh-huh. I don't know. Gain superpowers. I don't know. It's like. Worst case. It's just random. I don't know. I see it. All right. Number one blue pill, blue and white. Can communicate with oysters. Check your gravel. Number two, free gravel for life. Number three, can teleport up to seven inches away. Number four, grow a second nose. Number five, can control any toaster with your mind. And number six, look 10 hours younger. Number seven, can instantly see inside any empty container. Number eight, speak the extinct language, Kitan. And number nine, run, can run as fast as Albert Einstein. Okay. It's gotta be free gravel for life, right? That's the property. Maybe you could always use gravel. You think it's three, you think it's can teleport up to seven inches. Without a doubt, number three for me. Why don't you just move to the left? Why don't you have to teleport? Because if I can teleport seven inches away every single time I've been out at first base by seven inches or less, I know. How many times is that?
Seven inches? A lot. Because what if you could have just rapid fire teleport? Like, like, like the whole plane out of teleport. Yes, it's just, yeah. If you want to go from first to second to steal second, you could just, yeah. Of course you can teleport, but like, you can scrap half my call of stealing. You can, you can add a bunch of base hits that you're out by seven inches or less. How many steals are you guys? I think, how many steals? I'm a steal, so, yeah. This year, 22. I think it's number five. I think, I agree. I agree. That's how stractive a one. That's the most practical one about far. I think it's the best way to wait. You guys just have to have Donnie with that so many. Oh, great point. I could just make his toaster pop. Oh, what happened to my wife? She had Donnie using a toaster. He, I might do a staying toaster. I didn't even think about shenanigans, bloodmills. I just thought about it. It's five, not even close. I thought about it. It was just shenanigans and maybe teleport in seven inches could be good shenanigans. That means, put his bagel on the toaster and he doesn't understand why a thing hasn't toasted for an hour. Yeah. I'm just watching that all day. That's a great point. I think number eight can be profitable.
That's true. And what world? I don't know anything about Katana, but like you would allow a lot of people to read ancient texts and like what about number seven? I'll say seven. Seven's worth. What does that mean? Seven. It's almost a curse. Yeah. Yeah. Actually, actually, I got a good number seven would be really good. The pirates do this thing every like six inning. A fan will be like, all right. Go. Welcome to the game blank. We're going to play a game real quick. It's two boxes. Yeah. You get to pick a box. Oh. One, one's great point. One's empty and one has like a Paul skiing sign jersey. I think that's not one. So you would get one chance. It's a game for Chant. That's true. You would win a jersey. I win a Paul skis jersey. That's a great point. Deal or not? Deal or not? Deal or not? Deal or not. Well, no, those are all. They're all the same. That's not the main thing. Let's make it deal. Yeah. Behind the, yeah. Watching curtain number one. TJ came up the home and I gave 40 yard dad.
I saw all this under the hat game. What if he was a freak athlete? I don't know. No, I just a freak. Albert Einstein was a boundary corner in the NFL. All right. So the red 40 last time. I don't have it. You got it. I don't have it. I don't have it. Have I not done Wayfair yet? Correct. All right. Wayfair. All right. Let's do the grid. All right, boys. We do a sports grid every day and an MBA grid. And we're trying to get the number one answer, the most popular answer. Usually you're trying to go to for rarity scores or we're trying to get the most obvious answer here. So let's go. All right. Wolf Buck. A sun buck. Wolf Buck is. Is that the clippers by the way? Even Chinzo. Is he on the wolves of bucks? I'm sorry. I'm going to be used. So Carl Anthony Towns bottom left. It's very connoisseur. Carl Anthony Towns bottom left. Next wolves. Yeah, that's a safe or Julius Randle, but it's definitely Carl Anthony Towns. It's got to be towns. Yeah. But even Chinzo. Yeah, man. It's going to be a high. Well, that's anything ever. So I don't know. Next it'd be Brunson, right? Yeah. So Brunson here? I think Brunson. Yeah. He's the most. And then Michele Bridges. Michele Bridges. Yeah. Right? Mark. Yeah. A sneaky. It's going to be a sneaky Eric Bletsow middle middle clipper sun.
Chris Paul. Chris Paul. Chris Paul. Okay. It might be a sneaky Eric Bletsow top middle. He was a buck, right? We're not looking for sneaky. I think it's not sneaky, but it's I'm not. I know. Chris Paul middle, right? I'm saying sneaky because your surprise is the sun clipper. Yeah. And then Kauai for 20 point. Yannis top right. Yannis top right. The most top. Yannis top right. Yannis. Now this is Kauai Leonard middle right, right? I don't know. Maybe these guys could be helpful for this because they don't. They're not as locked in. You want to get you want to get as high or as low. Yeah. Most people try to get low, but we're trying to do a different thing where we want to get one on. We want to get the top answer for every single. What was your mind low? Your mind was low. James Harden. Yeah, what do you think of Clippers? Skippers. You think of James Harden first? Okay. Kauai. I think it's Kauai's been there more recently. What do you think, Hunter? Kauai. Kauai. Alright, D. Kauai. Alright. Yeah.
That's what's good. That's the high percent. Alright, so so Clippers. Clippers. Wolves. You like D.V. Enchins on top left? Yeah. You like hold on. Everybody relax for a second. Grace and Alan top middle. That's what I was thinking. Um, who else? What about, what about Vincor Brandon? Yeah, I can't place him on the wolves though. What about, what about, what about, who would not think it of? I don't know. What about if I knew who weren't thinking of, I think of him. It's a great point. Yeah. It's a great point. Not mullip easily. Top. No, I think middle top, top middle is, is Grace now, right? Top middle is Grace and Alan is over there. Right. He draft about the signs and went to the box, right? Or reverse? Yeah. No, I'm fine with that. Yeah. Grace and Alan. I'm fine with that. Yeah. That's good. Nice. That's good. And I do, D.V. Enchins will play for both of those teams, right? Yeah. Top left? Is that the, is that, or no?
Is there someone, we're not thinking of Brandon. D.V. Enchins will went, box, nicks, Wolves? That's right. Yeah. I did mention, though, I'm fine with that. Bang. We're good. All right, all right. We're good. All right, sorry. I'm blocking it. I'm blocking it. I'm blocking it. I'm blocking it. I'm blocking it. I'm blocking it. All right. A boy, Connor. I think Chris Paul middle middle, right? Yeah. We might have a chance. Boys! I think we got a chance. Boys, we got a chance. That's 69. All right, Clippers Wolves. Clippers, bang them. Do something. Useless. Okay. Completely useless here, guys. Clippers. But that could be good. But that could be good. Is. Sam Kassel. Sam. Motherfucking Kassel. Is he playing for Clippers? Yes, dude. He played for the Wolves, right? Very prominently. He played for the Clippers. Sam Kassel. And he was very prominently on the Timberwolves. Those are the two teams, Sam Kassel. Well. One million percent played for. And the Rockets. And very pro. Those are the three days. Yes. Fuck.
I like Sam Kassel. Anybody got a better one than Sam Kassel? I do like Sam Kassel. I. Jamal Crawford. Oh, no. What are you doing? Why'd you say that? What? What are you doing? What? What the fuck are you doing? And I think he's right. Chandler do something. Jamal Crawford. Mmm. Oh, my god. What? What? What? What? What? Why are we? Is this. If it's. If it's. I'm not saying it's. It's not. What? I said. Okay. I think Sam Kassel is funny. Okay. I don't know who that is. Whoa. Whoa. Oh. Thank you. I just know they love Jamal Crawford in this game. Do the kids know Sam Kassel? Yeah, right. Cuz that's a kid right there. Right. Don't know Sam Kassel. That was a. That was a. Focus, group. Who do you think they're doing these grids? Kids. They are kids. They're not grown, man. You've grown. You wish to spend. You'd spend millions of Walker types. You think it's kids.
Alright, Connor Connor you want to do it? The kids know the cross go ahead Connor. Go ahead Connor. Here you go Connor. Here you go, Bubba. No, hey TJ I want Connor to click the mouse. I want Connor to actually click it ready End of three and the two Alright, we got it. So who was it go all the way down go all the way down Pat, Pat, Pat. It's Pat Beav. I'm Mario style tomorrow. It was Pat Beav the whole time. It was Mar we didn't have it anyway because of Mari we had brought us to a 1 2 3 4 5. We missed on two seven. How would we have gone Pat Bev? We'll have two. Why do we keep missing on Pat Bev? I think he technically still works here. Does he doesn't he? The new work here, let's just show thank you to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Hey, thanks. Thanks. I'm a higher team is here today. Yeah, skins is out in the hall. In the golf team right now. Rest of the call, man. Yeah. O'Neill Cruz is in macro dosing.
Best of luck with the playoff push. Appreciate it, then. All right. We'll see you guys tomorrow. Let's see this Pokemon collection. That's how ball is done. Dude. Dude, come on.
