It is the VIP afternoon show with Ike Spikenspritz. Special there is the varsity. Thanks for listening on your radio 94.1 and streaming live on the free Odyssey app. I said we have a special guest at five yet Elliott walked in again. I'm a wheelies head to finish our debate from earlier. Yeah, there's people required. But in studio with us, Eagles edge Jalix Hunt as we announce that starting Monday at Chekey's and Pete's, Jalix will join Elliott and I for the Jalix Hunt show. Every Monday from six to seven presented by Miller Light, Miller Time Eagles fans celebrate responsibly. We are looking forward to it, Jalix. I'm looking forward to it. I'm super excited. I'm super nervous too. I was just telling Elliott outside. I've never been a part of a radio show before like that. I've been interviewed, but I got to be a radio personality. So I got to add it to the list. You got to bring the takes now. You got to bring the takes. Yeah, yeah. I got to bring the takes. Yeah, got to be better. OK, OK. This is an Alokarum interview. Now we're going to need some opinion.
I can't give it too hard to take. So I want to miss up a lot. Yeah, exactly. I won't say keep the takes. Keep the takes. Well, if you got to take about anything else, we'll take this. OK, I can do that. Any other sport, you know, movies, whatever you want. So yeah, we're excited to have you, man. Thank you. And in the middle of the Chekey's, so it's not just on the radio though, there's the added, like, I don't mean to say pressure, because you know, you play in front of 70,000 people. But we're in the middle of Chekey. So there's people staring at you while you talk as well. So there's that pressure as well. That's easy. OK. I, in the sky don't lie. I always got to practice. Yeah. So that's OK. I'm cool with that. All right. That's acceptable. So what made you want to do it? Like they came in and asked you what was the going through your head? Is it why would that this be something you'd want to do? Complete honest answer. Yeah. No. I don't want to do this. I've never thought to be on a radio show before. But then I talked to Jordan, BG influenced me a little bit. You know, BG is the vet.
I can't be on these debates. So to know that they did it, those are such great talents to follow. Yeah. I feel like I'm doing something in the right direction, if I'm following them, but they all had good things to say. And it's something that pushes me out of my comfort zone. I'm constantly trying to grow as a person. So if this is something that can benefit me on and off the field, you know, it helps with my confidence that it'll help with me on the field. And then off the field, it just allows me to open up and do some more things outside of my comfort zone like this. So I'm cool with it. I think it's a great opportunity for you. You certainly have the personality. You understand about breaking down the game, talking about the game. I think you'll be natural at doing those things. And you just mentioned, this gives you an opportunity to open up other avenues that you may want to seek later on down the road in your career. I think I started doing the players lounge in my third or fourth year. Okay. So in the long run. I'm good. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We know that. Okay. I'm just trying to help him out. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's good. Bad. Yeah. I'm good too. I feel like I'm a man. Please don't call me Mr. Everett. I'm a man. Please don't do that. Yeah. I'll take home. I'll just go. I've learned to accept that as a term of an indirection. But, Mr. Mr. Sonogo. Mr. Mr. Sonogo. Like I'm like Hugh Douglas's age. I do think this would be great for you, man. I really do. I can say I did it 20 plus years ago. And I've still been doing it. I love doing it. Yeah. And filling out for your fans are the best. You've been here three years. You help bring them a championship. So you know it from one perspective already. It's completely different once you get a chance.
And you've been around fans to touch them every, every, every opportunity they get to see you and meet you and get to know you a little bit more personal. So I think it's going to be a great opportunity for you. Perfect. I think that's it. It's interesting you bring up Brandon. I know the Eagles love to have veterans in to teach the younger players. Obviously I'm sure on the field he taught you a lot. But even you talking about, you know, Brandon did the show for 10 years. Yeah. A pretty long time. Did you have a nice one? Yeah. I mean, I think part of the reason, not only is Brandon a great player, I think he's so beloved because of doing that show for so long and being a chick he's every Monday and seeing fans and talking to him. So just curious from your time with Brandon, like what did you learn from him? I guess both on and off the field. My first impression of Brandon was, I don't know how he does this. He has to be lying to somebody. Because there's no way he's this energetic, this guy every time you see him, right? Every time without fail, whether he's in the building or there's outside the building, if I see him interact with anybody else, knew if he introduces me to anybody, he's the same person.
So that's something I picked up from him. But I also picked up that is a, that this is a more of a business than I originally thought it was. You know, it's football at the end of the day. But to a certain degree, we're entertainers. And when you understand that, you understand that you have to be one way on the field and you have to be another way off the field and you have to be able to walk into different rooms and be able to handle yourself accordingly. So I learned that from him that, hey, listen, football will get you far and like you were saying, I don't think BG's BG if he wasn't able to handle himself out of the field as well as he's done. So that's what I've learned from him. And I'm telling you, the thing with BG, I'm sure he'll tell you if he hasn't already told you. His career started off differently. Yeah. So he's had the ups and downs and seen the other side and that's what makes us so beautiful with BG is that we've watched Brandon grow from his early years as a player, Dylan with adversity, Dylan with labels, people want to put on his first round bus. Yeah. All right.
Everybody on Twitter and all of that. And turning that into one of the greatest Eagles ever. Exactly. Yeah. Most beloved Eagle ever. He's a neck group with those guys. He's a neck group with those guys. So that just shows you how you can build those relationships and change opinions about you just through how you carry yourself and when people make sure I think Brandon did that helped him out big time. Jaylux Hunt is with us starting Monday, the Jaylux Hunt show with Elliott Shore Parks and myself at Chickies and South Philly 6 to 7 presented by by the little light. I think the other and Brandon gave us a couple of all time show moments. He did. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And you know personally it makes me feel good that you asked Jordan about you asked Brandon about it. Neither one of them said do not do that show. Yeah. I mean, it's like a negative. Yeah. I love it. All right. But the other thing I think is interesting with Brandon is like you guys are going to lose
some games too, right? Yeah. And hopefully not very many, but you lose some games. But I think being able to, I think Philly, we're crazy. You know, fans were crazy. But I think we give a lot of respect to athletes that answer the bell when things don't go great. Like it's easy to go in and do the show. You guys win 37 to 3. You know, you have two sax. But it doesn't always go that way. But I think the fans grow to really, really appreciate the players who speak after games like that too. So I think there are wins. It's a lot of fun when teams winning. But you know, I think people are also as interested when things aren't going quite as well to hear from your perspective what you see. And I think you gain a lot of favor with fans by being there for times like that. I've never heard that, man. Yeah. I like that. So have you seen, have you seen Hunt jerseys out in the wild? Yeah. Not more. I can't say never. Okay. My dogs over there, Jaylick's hunting thuisies. I saw, I've seen them outside.
Okay. Yeah. All right. Whenever I see a 58, I know it's a toss up between like two people, not in that conversation. Right. He is. Yeah. Yeah. That guy over there is. But I'm sure two I agree shirts out there somewhere. You see family members who are wearing that. I know. I know. That's one of them. That's the IAM right now. It's mostly family, mostly friends. I see the occasional Jaylick's hunt jersey. But nine times out of 10, we know who 58 is. Well, we got it. We got to get some people showing up in the show wearing Hunt jerseys. Man, what? I would love to see that. I would love to see that. Well, it's funny to always tell you remind me of Trent. And the way you play and you know, you're only Trent to take a fist and it's you're a little bit better athlete. This is hard to take a fist. Yeah. I career like that. You know what I mean? So Trent was a great past rusher. Yeah. Right. Yeah. You have a little bit more versatility. I understand what you're saying. That's all I'm saying. You have a little more versatility. No disrespect to the great. No. No, no. So this week leading up to the first game, what does this week like for you?
Is it a you feel like a normal week or is there an edge to everything? There's always an edge to everything. I was just explaining it to somebody. First week is the adrenaline is insane. If you've never played football that first series, you feel like you're jumping out of a plane. And then the teams that usually win, you know, it's always the flags, the disciplines low. There's a whole bunch of things that happen in the first week. That's just football. Whoever can maintain their level, a high level of detail is ultimately going to win the game. So going into the week and going into the game, I'm just making sure I'm on all of my peasy cues because you know, it's going to be a lot of gimmicks. It's going to be a lot of penalties, whether it be good or bad for us. My adrenaline is going to be up and just trying to make sure I'm steady and prepared for the game to remain even feel throughout. It's interesting. You know, you starting this show at this point of your career, watching you through training camp, go go from someone who's in the mix on doing the interviews, top of the podium, right?
And you're getting all the questions like, oh, you're having a breakout year, you can't spend so good. What's that like for you? Not so much the question of, do you feel like you're about to break out? But what's it been like for you as a young player going from somebody who, you know, is a rookie, right? Not maybe not getting a ton of questions to all the sudden, all the questions about how good you're playing and stuff like that. What's that adjustment been like for you over the past few years? It's been cool, of course. You know, I was like, you know, especially me, a job is like I was saying partly in the team. So that's really cool. And it shows me that I'm doing something that's positive. Yeah, I always love that. You know, they will put the cameras in face if you're doing something not positive. Sure. But that's not the turn I'm going on right now and I hope I stay that way. But it's a dream come true. Obviously, every kid, I used to practice, I still practice in the mirror, answering questions. I always wanted that. All right. People watching sports center all the time, prior to ingrained in their mind, how it's opposed to sound. Yeah. Right. Yeah. A lot of good interviews have a certain rhythm to them, like the cadence. And then when people wear off that cadence, everybody's kind of tense.
So I definitely have worked on just how I'm answering questions. But at the same time, I take it as a grain of salt, like, especially in the city of passion, passion, can swing either way. It can be real good. We love you. It can be real bad. But at the same time, they're asking you questions. So being able to filter that through and kind of like coaches, coaches will say, what you need to hear in very good ways sometimes or terrible screaming. You suck. Which one is that? Which one is that? I know which one he is. Honestly, dead pan. Oh, really? I got it. About as even as you can go, honestly, he never sways too far left or right. I guess that's good. I guess that's good. Yeah. I think that's part of the reason why he's so good. I saw I really try to be like him, honestly. Like Vic. Energy wise. Focus. OK. I can't be a five, six Italian. No. Like, gee. I'm passed that. I'm passed that. Yeah. The way he walks around, he's got the vet appeal to my website.
I don't got that one yet. But just his energy and handling himself, how professional and how knowledgeable he is. That's what I like to get like. Well, dude, we are so excited to have you do the show. The Shalex Hunt Show starting Monday at Chiquis and Pete, six o'clock, presented by Miller Light. And Lake and can tell you this the other guy you're meeting with Rod. When they mentioned that it might be you, like, no questions asked. We were excited. Really? Yeah. Well, so we've had you on the show two times, one right after you got drafted and then one for RadioThon. You just tell when you're talking to somebody, whether they're like that rhythm that you're talking about or whether they're being real with you. And you're not, it's good that you're a great player. But to be sure, the fact that you look like your star is growing here is awesome. But the we want to do a good show. That's it. And the player is people here, Elliot and I talk all week. Yeah, people are sick of that. Yeah. The last of us, the better.
So if you are good at it, it makes it so much better, not just for us, but for everybody listening. And we're so excited to have you do it. We are going to ride your star all the way to the top. So you know, you, yeah. So, so we're so excited and we appreciate that you're doing. We're going to make it the best we can possibly make it. I really appreciate that. I also aimed to make it the best show that we've had. So I got you going there, BG. I mean, the JLX Hunt show is a nice ring to it too. I feel like the name sounds good. Yeah. So it sounds official. Every time, I don't know if y'all know anything about this, but growing up, there was this show called The Amanda Show. The Amanda Show. On Nickelodeon? On Nickelodeon? On Nickelodeon. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. For real? I mean, yeah, you're talking about Amanda Bond or whatever. Yeah. Of course, she was on all that. Yeah. You know, I think about every time I hear somebody's name and then show. Oh, really? There's nothing, nothing to do anything about what you're saying. No, I love this. It was like SNL for kids at the time. It was my name when it's showing. That's real good to me. I was going to suggest, like you said, to how he went up big Pimpin, the JLX Hunt show.
That didn't get passed yet. I think it has a ring to it though. I think I like it. I think I like it though. Well, thank you for joining us. We look forward to Monday. Of course, we look forward to Sunday. Oh, yeah. Got it. Gotta get that. Go kick their ass and then we'll do the show on Monday. All right. I'm perfectly fine with that. JLX Hunt, everybody. Sir, good luck, Robin. Congratulations. Thank you very much. I really appreciate you all. Yeah. Thank you, man. So again, the show is Monday, every Monday, or, you know, if the equals play Monday night, it'll be Tuesday. Cheekies and pizza and South Philly, six to seven, presented by Miller Light. It's Miller Time, EGLE's fans celebrate responsibly with, of course, JLX Hunt and LH Shore Parks and myself. Again, thank you so much for coming in, JLX. And look to the forward to Monday. Thank you, brother. There he is. I appreciate it, bro. JLX Hunt, we got more show to do, like I said, four hours. The top five and five are sponsored by PDQ Signature Systems. If you're in the restaurant hospitality or casino business, you need a PDQ, POS system.
With PDQ, POS, you'll sell more, earn more and work less. If you want the best PDQ, POS, visit PDQ, POS.com. See it. Yeah, so the top five, the top five, the top five, the aton show, or excuse me, rival reason involving the afternoon show. Coming in at number five. What? Sorry, Baker Mayfield Sign Extension with the box. I'm sorry. It's okay. I'm going to give you a solid, we have nine minutes to do the top five. Okay. Is that good? Okay. Top five controversies. I'm sorry, I pointed out to me the Baker Mayfield English is hurtful to me. I'm happy for my gag, Baker. Okay, number five. Sorry, sorry. Yeah. So number five is Tuesday's with Elliott, YouTube versus Elliott. Oh, yeah. That maybe it could be higher, but I think it's yes.
And this is a forever rivalry, bundle. Yes. And if it's not me, it's like, and if it's not like, it's me, Tuesday's with Elliott can't go by without one of his five with Elliott. Yeah, I should just, that would have been sound right if it's not one of us, aren't you, and what do you mean? I think he feels that at the end, where if we haven't ran with him. He has to, he has to, he has to night one. Yeah, well, you know what? He goes, we're no one to Superbowl would you? I shall. All right, buddy. Okay. So number four, now this started the day that we did side of the bra. We know how upset was spike was. But as we're gearing up here for the start of the season, it's going to be a very big rivalry between spike and Lebron. So number four, spike versus Lebron. Well, that's a one side rivalry. Yeah, that's right. Riber is rivalry, you know? Yeah. Yeah, I mean, look, if this is not my goal, but if Lebron were to ever acknowledge that rival like, you know, my friend Ethan who wrote the book about the Warriors, yeah, Durant did not like Ethan, and he said that, but he was going to press conferences
stuff, which I don't. I think it's more the real rivalry will be between me and the Lebron people. Of course. Yes, the fact. Yes, the bronzer. Yes, yes. Yes, well, I'll be waiting on this one all year. Yeah, that is this one to be for good. Yeah, we have quite a head. Yes, yeah. Yeah. I know. I know. I know. I know how much I like this one, but Joe brings it up every, you know, every so often him versus Ikebaskable, Ike versus John. Yeah. Yeah, I know why you can. I think you've really talked about it like that. Yeah, only because it's like a damn met. They don't go away. If you're a fly or something that I've been trying to shoot, shoot away and it just keeps coming back. You know what you eventually have to do that, Matt? Yeah, squash it. You have to squash it. I will tell you, I will say this. Uh-oh. Joseph. Yeah. Uh-oh. I'm listening. That's all I'm saying. I'm listening to conversations.
I ain't convinced yet. But I'll tell you one thing you got going for you. Spike taking on Coach Seriani. Oh, it raised the bar. Yeah. Yeah. We may need to do a total beat down. Yeah. A people out there. Spike beat me. Yeah. I'm going to say it. I'm going to say it. I'm going to say it. I'm going to say it. I'm going to say it. Well, there's Spike beating Nick Seriani and me beating a, that's, that's nothing out of you, Joe. Well, you certainly have the easier job. That's for sure. That's for sure. OK, that's a good one. All right, number two, another Spike one. Oh, that, definitely. I, I can jack to sit back and they just watch Spike as he gets through. It's Spike versus Herbs phone calls. Oh, yeah. Um, every time I produced, yeah. Yeah. Maybe not lately, but usually, you're always like, ah. Yeah, why don't we get through this? Like, come on, herb. He's waiting for something to peak his interest as when he's waiting for. Yeah, I mean, sometimes it takes her but while to get to that. Yeah, it is a, what's the word I'm looking for? It is a practice in patience.
He tries to, you know, we've set this in the beginning, but I first started doing the show, and we had her on, I would tell Jack and I, this is not gonna work. And they said, you have to let him cook. I was like, I'm cooking. You, I had him on for six minutes. And that's sometimes it takes longer than that. And the fact that herb hates me now, and has hated me almost this entire time, I think, adds to it. Yeah, it's the right way. Yeah, absolutely. Well, what could number one be? Well, number one, I think it's a pretty obvious one. Number coming up, I mean, Sunday's the first game. It's, I did include Jack in this top five, and now he hits spike in Fritz versus the Jail Knights. I mean, it's gonna be a big one this year too, depending on how the season goes. That's a big one. I hate being in Jack's corner on this one, if I'm being honest. Not that Jack feels a little bit differently than I do. Yes. I mean, here's what Fritz's problem is, it's really he's taken on Eagles fans and Hertz fans.
I'm early. Yes. It is pushed him into truly not rooting for the team. Right. He is so, and remember, it's tied to Bryce. Oh, yeah. It's all tied today. Yes. Yeah, it's that Jalen won a Super Bowl and a Super Bowl MVP. Bryce has yet to win one. And, you know, if we're being honest in the Nationals one, one the year that he left. Just twist in the knife. And we're all just waiting. We know him right. We know him right. We know him. You know, Mr. Do-Nothin won Super Bowl MVP. Well, I'm just, I'm just throwing it. I've just Jack's words. You know, we're waiting for Bryce to win the World Series. Yeah. Yeah, that's a battle I told Fritz, listen, man, you may be in and in light of his new news that we just got. The Baker news. Yeah. Yeah, well, they're not signing Baker. Yes. Oh, yeah. I didn't see the numbers. Are the numbers out there on it? 55 a year. Oh, really? Oh, well, then he's got to be happy. It's 15 over three years.
Yeah. Oh, that's a big problem. It's probably guaranteed. Yeah. It's probably guaranteed most of it, if not all of it. You know, that makes Baker a liar. Baker City wasn't negotiating after training camps. But we knew that anyway. Yeah. Why don't you put that money out there? Yeah. You go away and get it out the way. Actually, I think this means Baker's going to have a better year because he will not be trying to earn the contract. They'll just go out there and be. And he have to play with that chip on his show. He doesn't. I know he likes to, but that also can lead you to doing things you don't need to do. Yes. Yeah. So I, you know, cheer for Baker unless they're playing the equals. And then sometimes I still cheer for Baker anyway. All right, 215-592. Good job, Fran. That was a good one. 2 and a row. B plus. Solid B plus. I'll take it. Don't touch your horn. Yeah, relax. I'm going to feel good. So coming up next, we will decide on who is taking over Philly Rays, Fantasy Football League team. We'll also get you ready for the Phil series against the Astros 215-592-9494. This is the WIP after new show at Ike's Bike and Fritz. Sunday, football season begins for us.
Well, actually, football season starts tomorrow night. For us, it starts on Sunday. The question is, is your kitchen ready for football season? Is your kitchen ready for game day? Be honest with yourself. If it is not, see what I said. If it's not, you got to go to National Alliance Warehouse. First of all, there are a lot of reasons to the National Alliance Warehouse. I know the first thing that is popping up into your mind, and I understand why it is, is price. So National Alliance Warehouse, first of all, is making sure you get the best price. I have this thing called price-shore, which updates the prices and the stores to make sure that you're going to get the best price. They do that by because they have these two giant stores in Wilmington and Middletown, Delaware, which huge showrooms. They have all this buying power, so they can guarantee you the lowest price. That is the thing that you care about, but the thing that you're really going to feel when you go to National Alliance Warehouse, that I felt when I filled up my kitchen with appliances from National Alliance Warehouse, is how their team operates, right? You're not going to feel like you're being rushed. You're not going to feel like you're being upsold,
if that's not your price range. Whatever you need out of the staff at National Alliance Warehouse, they will deliver for you. Speaking of delivery, they'll deliver the appliances. If you need to, they'll install the appliances, and when you go to see them, they'll take you around the giant showroom. You won't feel overwhelmed. My wife and I felt that same way, making sure you end up with the perfect appliances. They have mattresses as well. The Labor Day mega sale, still going on at National Alliance Warehouse, even after Labor Day, visit their showrooms in Wilmington, or Middletown, Delaware, tax-free, or go to NationalPlanetwarehouse.com, and tell them Spike and Jack, send you.
