We got a whole bunch of you in the community. First of all, thank you for being patient with us. We were at the game, so we're both in hotels. The live show is usually go up as soon as we go back, go says, Ryan is trying to stop crying before coming on. I'm not going to lie to you, I like this hurts. This hurts, but I do want to say thank you for everybody in the community being patient with this. We got Mike behind the mic. He's back for this new season. He's incredible. Congratulations on retirement. My dude, tremendous human being. But we got to talk Notre Dame. We got to talk another blowout in another big moment. We're going to start big picture. What's your big picture right now? Raw motions, the game just ended.

2:04So my big picture comment right now is like, I feel like everything that we predicted for this season could still completely be on the table and I feel like it's pretty much status quo at this point. Do I like that we lost 41-13? Obviously not. Did I think we were going to lose this game by two or three touchdowns? Yes I did. And we ended up losing my four, but that's like it's kind of irrelevant, but it's still like at the end of the day we got beat handily by a really, really good team. But I think there were enough positives. And yes, I know there's people in the chat like, oh my god, he's going to be positive. I am going to be a little positive because I'm just saying like, I think there were enough positives that I can say, okay, what I expected from this season as far as overall wins and losses and who we're going to be and who we're not going to be. I feel like it's very fair. I just tweeted this out. I feel like our predictions are fair and achievable. And that's where I'm at with this because I think there are really interesting signs of life like a guy like Abu Sama and Sebastian Cheeks. And there's some signs of like, ooh, are we really going to be much better offensively?

3:08We scored 13 points against the team that's really, really good defensively. It's a little bit of up and down, back and forth. But in the end, I kind of feel like we thought we are where we thought we were going to be. Nothing took me much higher than that and nothing took me that much lower than that. I did not think we'd be at 413. I would just be completely honest. So I look at this in a couple ways and scary over as good front of the show. I'm friend of both of ours. Text me something. I thought he said it really well. He said, if you squint, you can find some positives. I don't feel like being that positive right now. You lost 413 in a neutral site environment to begin the season in a big moment. In a roster that's supposed to be better. This does bother me a little bit. And I think you're right. Here's the other side of this. Everything that we thought is achievable is still achievable. Neither of us thought Notre Dame would be a win. I thought we would look better than this. And the second half of Givet felt like where was the team from the first half?

4:12That defense was full of life. And they were stonewalling Notre Dame. And dude, it just. It's 413. However you slice it, it's 413. And we both know Notre Dame is really good. But we both predicted a closer game than this. And that's frustrating to me. Yeah, I mean, look, I think that we were. Had we been able to score another touchdown and they didn't have that touchdown with two minutes to go in the game because obviously they're trying to prove a point. Like, and it was 34 to 20. Would we be feeling I guess my point is like, I'm not going to feel that different. Then it had we just got a garbage touchdown at the end and closed the gap a little bit. And they didn't score that two minute touchdown. Like I just feel like, yes, they manhandled us in the second half, especially like defensively, we couldn't stop them in the second half. That's not good. Okay, that's problematic. But I just think that like the signs that we saw in the first half. And I know people are going to say, oh, the first half is just the first half. But we kind of want we did win the first half basically. Like we didn't win it on the scoreboard, but we pretty much did.

5:14Like that ridiculous turnover that Bordelotti had is just nonsensical. But like other than that, we basically outplayed them in the first half. So there is something there you have to hold on to now. Then you have the adjustments that weren't made. I guess it's it's with still an order day. They were always going to come out and do that in the second half, which is what everyone predicted. Like no one actually thought we were going to win this game before it started. Right. So in the end, it's like it sucks that we ended up losing by a lot. But it is good that we had a good first half. And I do think there's something that you can take away. And yes, I'm going to be a positive fan. And if that annoys you, I understand that. But I'm going to be who I am. I can't be positive. I just can't. I just can't very frustrating. Little bits of positive. Little bit. I think I say this all the time. And I've said this a lot on basketball shows. You're it's never quite as bad as you think it is. And it's never quite as good. Like there are things when you go back and watch film and we're going to go back and watch you L 22. And listen, there's things here that were really good. I light individual pieces of this.

6:16Absolutely. I thought there were tremendous moments of individual play in that first half was great, dude. But like the Vegas line was 20 and we couldn't cover it. You know, there is an element of all those little individual pieces are great. But like, dude, you can't drop a kick. Like you can't throw a pick six. Like these these big momentum changing plays that still be fell this team. You don't know to name didn't drop a kick. Those those aren't talent things. Yeah. But you're rubbing a kick. It's not a talent thing, right? Like, those are things you just can't do. And that's what those are things that programs that continue to struggle continue to do. And it's frustrating for me to see in your fort for us to still make those kind of mistakes. And you're right. You're right about that. Like I'm trying to to leave here feeling like we can still do what we said we what we thought we could do. And I do believe that. But there are inexcusable things in this game that once again like in year four, you don't need to be making a silly timeout call in the second half when you're when you're down in a game and you call a timeout with 10 seconds left in the play clock because that's just done.

7:17You don't need to have ridiculous, you know, roughing the roughing penalties. You don't need to you don't need to have the the fumble. You don't need to have the pick six. Like there are things that just this team should not be doing. Those things are disappointing. There are many, many, many things that are about this game that I'm very disappointed about. I want to be clear on that. But I just feel like in a big picture, taking a step back like it ended up basically how we thought it was going to end up. Now, yes, it was 28. But had they not scored that touchdown at the end? It was 34 13. Would we, I mean, it's like the basically we got beat in the second half, which we all said we both said it was going to be close. And then I would then they were going to pull away in the second half. That's exactly what I don't think that that means we cannot have an eight one season. I don't think that's what it means. Oh, I don't to be fair. I don't think that either, right? Like the season's not over. People do not. And this is also like these are reaction shows. I mean, we are literally coming out of the stadium surrounded by Notre Dame fans singing and throwing their kids in the air like I tomorrow be a more rational show.

8:22And I had something other day Notre Dame is awesome. Like Notre Dame is really, really good. We knew that right there really good. But some of this was just self inflicted. You know, some of it was just self inflicted. And those are the things that frustrate me. And you're right, dude, the season's not over. I still think we can get to seven eight wins. That first step, I did a half time show. And if people go watch my channel, I don't delete anything I do. Like every take I have just stays there. And at half time, I did a quick half time show or even I said was constant right there. We belong because at half time, it felt like we did. And then again, the second half, it's just you got to play 60 minutes. So football. And I thought the second half, I thought our defense came out flat. I thought where was the adjustments from Jeff Grimmit? It definitely felt like Notre Dame said, okay, we're going to play action. We're going to take advantage of some deeper shots. We're going to take advantage of how you're playing in the secondary. I don't know. It doesn't feel like we made any adjustments that worked offensively. And that's frustrating. Yeah, super frustrating. Like they went into half time.

9:22You know, Marcus Freeman lit those guys up and said, hey, we're up 13 to 10 against Wisconsin. We need to what you know, what happened to our whole thing. And then they came out and they played hard. They got the ball, the opening kick in the second half and they drove down the field. And that was that that was that moment where you're like, ooh, this could this could go really badly. But they did what they had to do. And then we got the ball back. Well, okay, let's go down and score. And then the pick six. And that's really when the wheels fell off of the pick six. And they got two more garbage touchdowns after that, like not garbage, but they got two more touchdowns. That is really where things just turn. And I think like that's the difference between us and them. That's the difference between where we are as a middle of the road at best big 10 team and where they are a national championship contender. That's the difference. And I think that like it is just disappointing because you you're not as good as Notre Dame. But that doesn't mean you have to drop the kickoff. That doesn't mean you have to do that pick six. It doesn't mean that you have to have a 15 year penalty on Mason Post to give him a first down. Like that's the that's the thing that's so maddening about this.

10:26Like why do you have to do that? Because those things are completely preventable and literally gave up 14 points to a team that ended up eating you by 28. Like that's that's the thing that like when is that going to stop? And it has to stop. So I said, then Baker system or halftime shows it's so that's a good point. I was, did you guys got to remember? Yeah, same, and Jada, you guys got to remember like we're getting our fans and we tried to do this. In a way that you know, we're telling you how we feel and we're being accountable to it. But like we're also fans and I was fired up at halftime. It was 1310 and it felt like we were the better team for 30 minutes of football. We gave them seven points. And then again, the second half is just a wheels fell off. This is really frustrating. We are going to take a quick second for friends to show you at 750 one of you in here, which is absolutely insane. We have Mike behind the mic. We'll bounce this back and forth. This team can stop the run. Like the defense of the lineup front is stout. And we were happy that that's something that we've been waiting to see,

13:29whether the guys like Russell and Perkins and Poiser could be those guys. And I think they absolutely were. I think Notre Dame had like, I don't know, 20 rushing yards in the first half. I think I don't know where they ended up with. I'm sorry, I don't have stats. What did they end up with as far as rushing? But I'm not actually sure. They rush for 111 yards. Yeah, I guess the nearest one ended up with 90, but still like 3.5 yards of weight. Yeah, and I think it's absolutely critical that we were able to do that. Because we said coming in, you cannot beat the team without stopping the run. And we have that. And if Notre Dame is going to run like that on us and get three and a half yards of carry, imagine what other teams on our schedule are going to do. They're not going to do a lot. This team can stop the run. That's a big win for us. I think something I've learned, and this is a positive one. I think Abou Sama and I know statistically, I really understand something best game for him. Notre Dame is really good. They just played a lot of man coverage and put extra guys in the box. Sama made some people miss. Like Sama ran physical.

14:30I got outside a couple of times. There were a couple of ways he got met in the backfield completely blown up. We saw that last year, by the way. That's maybe not a positive. I mean, it's maybe some of the run blocking. But I thought Sama looked pretty good. I really did. I thought he ran hard. He found what he got what he could and he made a couple of people miss. I think he's going to be a good player for us this year. I don't think he was the issue at all. Another one for me on the negative side is I don't know how good of a pastor, Coles and Joseph really is. We saw a lot. Now listen, there were some good throws. Certainly the touchdown pass was good. It was a good read and it was, he found the guy open. But there were a lot of plays that were just in a slightly inaccurate. Maybe it's first game jitters, who knows, is he's playing against one of the best teams in the country and against an incredible defensive backfield. But there were just some plays that they were off a little bit. And he wasn't under pressure when some of those passes were made. I didn't love that. I expected him to be a better pure passer of the ball. He's obviously athletic. He can run.

15:30We saw that a little bit and please keep yourself healthy. My goodness. But yeah. I wasn't nothing really like impressed me about CJ today. I wasn't like, oh, Colton Joseph, man, he's going to be a difference maker for us. I think our defense to me difference maker. I think Sama can be a difference maker. There's others. But I don't, I'm not seeing the spark that I was that I was supposed to see. So I've learned that I just don't, I'm worried about him. His building to the ball. I think I've learned that here's one. I don't know if it's learned. I think I'm continued. I continue to be worried about Jeff Grimes. A little bit and his reliance on the quarterback run game. I know it's a part of it's part of Colton Joseph's DNA. If you're going to get a guy like that, you're going to run the ball. I don't know if he's going to make it through the season. If he's going to take hits like that. And some of that's on some of that's on CJ. Like CJ at times you got to get down. You got to get out of balance. If you continue to kind of put a quarterback in arms way, he's going to take hits. And there's times I'm like, give, give Daryl into pre a couple more

16:33carries or use your tight ends over the middle or scheme something up that isn't reliance on Colton Joseph out. Athleting a Notre Dame defense because he's not going to do that. And he's just going to get beaten to a pulp. That aspect of the game worries me. Now it's it's game one. And it's against Notre Dame. It gets easier. Like it gets easier for Colton Joseph and for Jeff Grimes going forward, dude. But it's too many shots. It's him getting hit too much for me. Yeah, yeah, I agree. Oh, another thing for me is that I learned that and I can't touch on some little bit earlier. I learned that Luke Fickle still makes very concerning and from a fans perspective questionable in game coaching decisions, especially when it comes to timeouts. I wonder here, you can't take a time out on the second half when you're down in a game. You can't do that. When when there were no there was no imminent danger or anything like you just, you can't make that kind of a mistake. You can't choose to do that. We bring that up all the time and I just don't understand why that keeps happening. Like why can't we just not do that?

17:35And if you lose five yards, you lose five yards. You have a bad play. You got a bad play. Sometimes you've got to take the five yards and deal with it because the timeout can be worth a lot more. And coaches do that way too much. I don't care. I'm not the first half. Don't do that in the second half. But I'm I'm I'm I continue to be perplexed at some of the decisions that he makes. And I've learned that that hasn't changed at all. What let's talk about through a couple decisions. I actually think this is this is a really good one. So first half, fourth and 10 at the 36 yard line. Wisconsin is at the Notre Dame 36. All right. It's a 13 is a 13 10 game at that point correct? Still 13 10. And Wisconsin chooses the point. Now now Sean West, but by the way, head. Sean West said one of the greatest puns I've ever seen in my life. That on the one on the previous possession, right? Where it goes out of unsaid the Notre Dame one or the Wisconsin one. Did you like the so I'll just say I didn't love the decision upon to that situation on fourth and 10 from the 36. I'm either kicking a fjl goal or I'm trying to go for it because I think generally

18:35you don't you don't down the ball. It becomes a touchback. And they get the ball to 20 you gain 16 yards. And it's something that always frustrated me with Paul Christ. You're playing the number 14 in the country. Did you got to take some swings? And I just felt like that's a moment where you're what you're going to get out of it. And then I'm getting 16 yards of the old position. It's not worth giving up the ball in that situation. Yeah, I mean, I would have much rather taken a 53 yarder and just say listen, let's because we're going to need Gavin Mom throughout the season. Let's get my shot here. Like I was obviously I was sitting right next to you and I was like, dude, this is going to be a touchback. A guarantee is going to be a fricking touchback. Now the pun that Sean West put down surprise surprise was fantastic because he's always our best player. But we couldn't field it, which I mean, it's just it's ridiculous. Now if you get the ball inside the five yard line, okay, maybe, but still you're how many times are you going to be in scoring position against a team like that? When you're in scoring position, you need to take scoring position.

19:37You got to take advantage of that. And if that means trying a low percentage kick, fine. I mean, we've heard all of the camp that Gavin Mom has the leg for this. Well, give him a chance to make a 53 yarder because worst case scenario, he misses it. They get the ball at the 43 or 42. It's 20 yards ahead of where you got to where they where you punted to. Like that's not that big of a deal. Just take the risk. And sometimes like, I appreciate risk aversion from a coach because I want it to want to be safe. But I just feel like sometimes like you can feel in a game when you just want people to be more aggressive. When you want to be more aggressive in the way that you're doing things and do it your tactics. But we seem to always get it slightly wrong from our perspective. Like from a fans perspective, we're always like, why did he make that decision? Why did he make that decision that happens too much? Well, I started on that one. I'm going to kick it to the other one to you. It's 31 was it 31 13 at this point. And we punt the ball back. It's like fourth and seven around maybe 50, I believe.

20:41All as you started this one. Now, yes, no, well, it's ludicrous. Like you're down in the game and you're basically at midfield. Again, what are you gaining? You're like, oh, you're just delaying them scoring their next touchdown? What's all, which is all it did? They went on a square touchdown. You're just delaying it. Don't do that. Like go for it. I mean, give your fans something to cheer about. Give your team something to get behind. Those guys want to feel your confidence as a coach. You know, you need to display that confidence as a coach. And that was just another moment where I'm just like, oh, like, why do we do that? Why would we're conceding? We're waving the white flag. Don't wave the white flag. Go down and get some points and put a little pressure on them and make them feel a little bit uneasy about it. You know, I know the game was over, but that doesn't mean you have to just kick the ball away because you're afraid of them scoring. They went on and scored anyway. Yeah. Yeah. You and I were sitting next to each other in that moment. We're sitting next to your little game along with our good friend Justin and my parents and obviously our great friend Kevin. It just, it felt like such a white moment.

21:43And the game was over, but it's not, it's not over really. Like, there's, it is over. But my point is like, yes, the sports fan, you're always like, well, if you make something happen here and put some pressure on them and even if it's just building some momentum and belief into next week, right? Even if it's just, you might need a fourth and seventh this year. It felt, it felt like a white flag in a moment where you have nothing to lose. You don't. The game's not, it was frustrating to me, man. Now, there's a talent to scrap and see here, obviously, no, the game's incredibly good. But it was frustrating. It felt like we could have been more aggressive. And this is something we've talked about previously at times. And I'll give gratitude. Luke fickle went forward on a fourth and one. They got that first down. I thought that was a great call and that was important. But I thought there were times where Luke fickle plays it too safe and it seems to continue to be trending that way. Yeah. And you know, you could also say that the defense played it too safe a little bit in the first half too. And in the second half, how many times do we see that throw

22:45out to the boundaries, like the immediate quick throw, right, to avoid any past rush? Because we were playing off. We were playing off. We didn't play press. We didn't challenge. Listen, I know they're talented, but mixed up a little bit. Like, let's not give them that easy pass out to the sidelines. And they're going to get seven yards without blinking. They literally do nothing. And they're getting seven yards. You can't do that. You got to play, you got to play press. And if that means you take the risk of getting B deep, you take that risk because you've got athletes out there. You know, it was a be more aggressive at times. And, you know, there was one time that we, I don't, again, it's hard when you're at the stadium. I don't know if we blitzed it. I don't know if we did. But there were a couple times that we did blitz and we didn't get home. And then, you know, they just, they found the open guy, right, right over the top of the, behind the line. So, but you gotta be, you gotta take risk. Because again, this is not a game you're expected to win. So go out there and give it your best shot. And especially in the second half, like, I don't know what his team talk was, but I'd have been like, dude, we basically won the first half, guys. Like, now let's go up another level. No, don't let's go out there and try to do the same thing.

23:46Go out there and push it. Like, let's go out there and really take it to Notre Dame. And instead of we just kind of were like, okay, we're kind of just gonna chill now. And that's what happened. And listen, as we talked about a bunch of times, the season's not over. But this is, this is the reaction show. And it's not fun to get beaten up by Notre Dame. It's not fun to have the entire week. Notre Dame fans tell you how much they're gonna beat you. And then they do it. It sucks. Or gee, we're gonna take one more quick break. The last half part of this show, the last thing I mean, is all you guys. We have starred comments. It's your thoughts. It's your concerns. It's your frustrations. This is your therapy show. Drop the comments in. Mike behind the mic is starring. And we're gonna talk to talk about as many of them as we can get. But we're just gonna be forward to take that break. I want to really quickly kind of wrap it fire. Give me one more positive and one more negative we haven't talked about. That five receivers, five different pass catchers caught at least three balls today. So the distribution Malachi Coleman, like that. He didn't really know.

24:46That's probably going. Like, you know, I mean, I feel like the receivers in general, I thought like we'd nice distribution of the ball by Joseph. I think that's a real positive. And the negative, I think that the one thing that I just can't, like the second half defense, I just don't, I don't really get what happened with that. I mean, I can't wait to watch back. But I'm like, what exactly happened there? Why why did we like all of a sudden just stop playing defense? And I don't really know what happened there. It's really frustrating. You give me my positive. I thought him and Bork looked really good in moments. There was a couple times he had great blocks. He had that one almost catch. Like I thought him and Bork looked good. Are you my negative dude? The defense is to be more disruptive. Like for a certain whole for like, this is an issue with the entire season last year. We talked about it. He had six turnovers for us. Notre Dame Force two. Well, I would say we gave Notre Dame one and then Notre Dame Force one, but they finished plus two. We did force a fumble that we didn't record that, you know, that the cheeks did. So kudos to cheeks.

25:47And let me give cheeks credit to him. We want to talk positives. I thought cheeks looked really good. Cheeks was quick, disruptive off the edge, broke up, man handled a couple plays. Cheeks had some really good moments. I mean, you go, who had a great chance to meet the other day. Great dude. Yeah, cheeks is a positive for sure. But dude, you have to force a turnover. You have to get up, get to one of those, right? And it's going to be a long season if we don't do it again. All right. Regif, you ready for community thoughts? Topics therapy show. To be fair, in the second half, I think this got better. I don't remember seeing as many off-center snaps in the second half. In the second half, listen, man, nothing pisses me off more. If you've heard on this show or on Buck your port, like, I cannot handle the snaps. It's a silly problem to have. It's something that coaches need to take care of. Players need to take care. There's no reason for it. And if it happens once in a three games fine, but to happen three or four times in the first half, what are we doing? Like, what are we doing? Stop that. You can't give these little tiny things. By the way, this has been a staple so far in Fickle's time in Madison. So one more thing on the thing that Fickle needs to fix

29:53that he hasn't figured out. Very annoying. Yeah, it's a good one. I forget to play this, but I think it's still fixed. Talk about it. My head is going to explode. What the heck just happened? It's the therapy session on Locked-On Badgers. All right, let me get some more of these stark comments. It's been a while since we played that. Nick Vody, can this team compete with I-1 Minnesota? Yes. I'll take that one. We'll kind of lighten you around this for G-Eve. We'll kind of... I think the team can compete with I-1 Minnesota. Again, you are not as bad as your worst performance against one of the best teams in the country. And I think what's lost that... And maybe I didn't talk about it enough. I probably didn't. There's a lot of new pieces on offense, and it felt like it. It felt like they were still trying to figure some of this stuff out. Kevin Haywood was back, which is incredible, but he's probably still working off some rust. Emerson Mendel is not there. I was still trying to figure out their quarterback situation. I don't think either of these teams are really going to run on Wisconsin. I do think that's strange showed itself today, for the most part.

30:55I think they're going to compete with I-1 Minnesota. I call me crazy, but I think they will. I think we'll do that. I think we'll do that. Oh, yeah. We'll click on that one. We have to remember that we had to play Nordard Day. You know, you look at Maryland and Iowa and Purdue, and all these other teams, Minnesota, they got our next week opponent first. None of these other teams are playing opponents like we are. And that's affecting how we feel about the team. Because had we played Western Illinois or Eastern Michigan today, and we would have won by 40, people would be really feeling good about the team, maybe. I don't know. We'll find out next week. But I do think that matters. And we have to kind of take a step back and look at the fact that we did play one of the best teams in the country. And these other schools didn't none of that. Yeah, I think that's super fair. I think my pushback on that, and it's not pushback, dude. I'm not here to argue with you for sure. Like I think that's a fair point. But you look at it like a Maryland beating, they played Townsend, right? Or Maryland, Maryland, Maryland, or Hampton, and they beat them like 60 to nothing. I mean, I don't know, 41-13 sounds that much better, really.

31:58I mean, it was. It was. And when you watch the game, you know the firm. I mean, I know the first half, yeah. It just was. We played better than like, I think we looked better than Clemson did against Alessio. Yeah, I think it's fair. Listen, I think it's fair. All right, I'll give you this one. We did, we did play better, by the way. Yes, no, we did play better than Clemson did against Alessio. Reggie, Bird Dogger says 67 rushing yards don't cut it. What did you think of the running game today? I think Abu Samo was a bright spot. I think the offensive line was okay. And then obviously when we watch the film back, I'll be interested to see how they really looked in some of these situations. But I think you're still playing again. You're playing an incredible defensive team. Like this is one of the best defenses in the country. And their national title could hit us for a reason. So we have to factor that in. I think, wait and see, like we should have a really, really good rushing attack next week. But Abu Samo is a star. Like he was athletic enough to make guys at N order name this. And I think that counts for something. The blocking will improve. If Mandel comes back, I think that will definitely make things better. I think the line is the line is better than it was last year.

32:59The blocking is better than it was last year. So that is a, that's a thing. So step in the right direction, mostly to be seen later, like TBA, because when we're not playing those guys and get some guys back. Morgan, because Ryan is, Wisconsin's slappy and probably paid by the, by them to run propaganda. I promise you nobody Wisconsin pays me. I promise you I did. I did make a few dollars sweet enough, Captain Morgan, doing a picture with the captain. That was fun. But no, nobody pays me there. Listen, I, be careful overreacting or under reacting to one game. And this is not good. I came on set it. I'm frustrated. I'm not happy about this. It's frustrating to me. This team can very easily win a lot of games on its schedule still. I shouldn't say very easily. But no, no, it's the best team you're going to play. And I think if you play like you did in the first half, and you can carry the overtell their teams, you're going to be in a good spot. I really do believe that.

33:59I just, it's, I hear that though. It's hard in the moment when you got beat like this to kind of put that out there with you, right? Like it's, here's a good one really quick. We had a factor fiction and you said if Wisconsin, and in the chat, you guys let us know. You said it was, Wisconsin gets blown out. Is the optimism from the offseason over? Is your optimism from the offseason over? No. I, I, I, and I think like that maybe where I'm in the minority and I get that, I'm not, I don't feel that way at all actually. I think that there was so much. There were pauses, especially in that first half that they just matter. And the thing about the kickoff, fumble that probably never happens the rest of the season or next year. Okay. Like that. And all honestly, that probably never happens again. So that's seven points that we just hit gift wrapped them, literally gift wrapped them. And then we add in the post a, you know, personal foul penalty. And so like, and then the pick six, that's a real thing. That's a, that's, that's more of like,

35:00Norder Dame's defensive backs and miscommunication with the receiver. I don't know if he was, he thought he was, Joe C.J. Thou was going to turn out. Didn't, that's a miscommunication, but it's a big play by defensive backs. I think those things fall into the calculus. I don't, I feel like this team is better. We said it multiple times, the team is better. The fact that they scored two touchdowns at the end of the game does not mean that we are not better. Like that, I think it's, it's honestly, the final score, I hate that they scored that touchdown because I knew that it was going to just be, it was fueling the, the we got blown out thing. And I get that. But like, it's just like, you one thing goes the other way. And this is what's 14 point game or 21 point game. And it's like, okay, there are some positives. I just think like, no, the optimist is not, is not gone from me at all. And there are people in Chet that agree with you. Like right now down here, sit on self-domestic, solid first half. There's also someone that said you're drunk and I'm probably an idiot. Like, it is what it is. Like, we get it. And there's no wrong opinions here. We always talk about this. Fan how you want to fan.

36:00Be respectful. That's what this is always for. Can I say something that, I don't know if worry or frustrate is the right word or chief, but I did want more of a, even when the game was over, I wanted more of like a bounce back. I wanted like something in that second app where I can definitively point to and say, but they kept playing really hard and they still made some plays. Even though it was getting out of hand, I don't think they quit. I don't think it's anything like that, but it does feel like what did you do in the second half? You see what I'm, you understand what I'm trying to say here? And it felt like there were moments last year where the team they died. They gave up. And I'm not saying that's what happened today. I don't think that's what happened today. But I would have liked a better response. It's somewhere in the second half. I think that that is something that we have to keep our eye on. Because I do think there was, like I said, the defense looked like it. They looked tired. They looked uninterested at times in the second half. And I feel like, is that a thing? We'll know the next time we're trailing in the second half or we go down by 10.

37:02Because when you're down by 10 in the second half, the game's not over. When you're down by two scores in the second half, you're fine. Like you can still come back and do it. I'm not saying we were going to, but you can. You've got to, you've certainly got to play like you can. And yeah, but hey, listen, maybe when you don't go for it on fourth down or you don't go for it on fourth down when you're down when you're at the 50-yard line, fourth and seven, says a message to your team. Maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe don't do that, Luke fickle. Maybe send a message to your team that you believe so that they can, they can keep playing, right? But yeah, that's definitely something that we need to look for in other games. How do we continue to respond to adversity? Or, you know, do we not? Because that, if we don't, if we don't, if we're going to lay down and die after being down two or three scores in second half, then we're going to lose games big time. I'm just pulling the scene for there's other comments. The Kepple says, Ryan had too many IPAs, so the show is cancelled. There's never, they'll never be a cancelled show, no matter how many IPAs I've had. I've actually been pretty IPA-like today. Yeah, Michael says first half was good second half is what it is.

38:03Running with Jason, I think this is the concern, we can hit this one. After the second half, I feel the same as I did last, you're just miserable. I think that's a question, right? Is this different than last year? And we talked about this a lot, but I think it's still really the question people want to know. Is there progress? Yeah, and I think sadly, you have to leave this game as that's still TBA. It's TBD. I don't know that we can definitively say there has been progress because of that second half. I'm optimistic about it, but we have to be honest about the fact that that might not really not be there. But I wish we weren't, I wish it wasn't. When we were sitting there at halftime, we were like, yeah, this seems better, we're good. But we are still TBD. The jury is still out on that because when we're going to need to see what happens in the next couple of weeks and then what happens against Penn State. I think that's super fair. We'll get a couple more in here. The crowd, I'll take this one, Harsh Squint said, what was the crowd like 50-50?

39:03It was pretty 50-50. And it was cool. And for a half, it was, it was awesome. Badger fans brought it, I thought, right? Am I wrong? Badger fans brought it for so good. For 40 minutes, I thought Badger fans were really good. You can't keep cheering when you start getting beaten. Yeah, I mean, the drive to start the second half, the ended in the touchdown, and then the pick six immediately following. That's when the crowd obviously just left it because Badger fans knew in that moment the game's over. But man, the first half, the electricity, especially that, I mean, remember, we forced a fumble and we blocked a punt back to back plays. That was incredible. So the atmosphere was really good. And let's actually just quickly take a minute to just say, what's, we met a lot of fun people today. People that we've seen many, many times that have come out and hung out with us, like Zach and Kyle and Nick and Tracy. We met people like Owen and McCale in today, very kind people from Nashville. There's so many names of people

40:08that I can't remember. We met Mark, we met Eric. There were a lot of people that just met down two weeks. That's that high. Yeah, there's so there's a lot of people. We met some kids today. It's just, it was great. And it was really, really fun to see some of our friends that we've got to this community and see some of you that just wanted to come and have a beer with us. And we're going to be in Madison again in October for the Michigan State Games. So if you know, if you're in Madison, come hang with us. It was a lot of fun to do that. And, and I had to say, it was really fun watching the game with you and just the two. Like, being able to stay with my boys and watch football like that is really cool. So that's that's a positive that I'll say from this and the atmosphere was great. And I do want to make sure we highlight that because there were some amazing people that we got to hang out this weekend. It's the best part of the show, guys. Like, and that we said all the time, like the goal of this show is always to let's make it more enjoyable to be a badger fan and just incredible people in that you highlight a lot of them, also Joe and, and you know, you can go on and on and on, dude. I also felt like we were playing kind of this,

42:11this loose zone that CG colors just kind of eating up because he's really good. At some point, I'm like, just be aggressive. Man, press coverage, use your athletes. And let's see what happens. And it, it felt like Notre Dame kept going to the well a little too much there. For sure. Yeah. And hauncho, good comment here. And of course, another guy that we got to hang with this weekend. Yeah, I mentioned this during the fickle, the fickle chat. I just silly. Like, take a risk. I mean, if that means you get beat over the top, that, that means you get beat over the top. But that play down the boundary was just insane over and over seven yards. And that's why we were, we were playing 10 yards off. Literally, that's the reach. He took our season. And it's gone. Guess what? You're going to go do a five yard out, turn around, button hook. I'm going to throw it to you and you're going to, you're going to get seven right yards out of it. It was way too easy for them. And I understand the, the concept of being a little bit, having that, having a little risk of worse when you're playing Notre Dame. I get that. But you're still, do you want to beat this team or not? Do you want to, that's the thing in the second half. We should have came out and had the mentality of, all right, now we're going to turn it up another

43:15notch. And we're going to see if we can actually get this done. Because if you just did status quo, you were, they were going to beat you and they did. Yeah, it felt like we weren't aggressive enough. All right, we're going to wrap it here again. We've gone for 42 minutes. Like we'll have more content tomorrow for sure. This is the reaction show. I just, I'm going to choose to, to, to be happy about the fact that Abusama is really good. I'm going to choose to be happy about the fact that we've got it. My guy in Malachi Coleman. I'm going to be happy about the fact that post said 15 tackles, even though they didn't, I didn't really remember him getting 15 tackles. But like, I, they're in the run defense can, can really stop a lot of people. We can take what we did in that first half, which is yes, it's hyperbole. And extrapolate that and actually look at the season and say that we can have a good season. And I'm going to believe that, I'm going to believe that to be true until I'm proven otherwise. And I think the next couple of weeks, we're going to have a lot of fun watching this team. I hope so. I think, I think my last thought is I'm, I am going to kind of be a bit of a voice for fans that are frustrated. And I think it's super fair for you to be frustrated. A lot of fans went to Lambo.

45:23And a lot of fans came from a long ways to get to Lambo. And you're year four and Luke Vickle. And nobody wants this more than I do. Like, I should say, we all, then we do, right? Like, we care about this. And if you want to be frustrated, I think it's, if every right to be, like, this wasn't a good enough performance. The Vegas line was 20 and a half. You didn't cover that. And that's, that's a three touchdown line opening week in Lambo. Like, you can't drop a kick. I don't know if borderline should have been back there. And I, I'm gutted, by the way, I'm gutted for him. Like, I can't imagine what that feels like. Like in your home state in Lambo, that sucks. But it's, this isn't, this performance wasn't good enough. And I feel the fans that feel that. And I'm right there with you. Um, yeah. Doesn't mean the seasons over. I've said a bunch of times. I think they flip this switch. I think they get better. I think the team is better. I legitimately think the team is better, but this was not a good enough performance. And you can't allow things to get out of hand in the second half and then keep going. I think that's maybe the biggest frustration. And maybe as I talk through this, would you, that's where I'll put my pen in it? Is it felt like

46:28nobody stepped up and put a stop to it? And you got to put a stop to it. You can't just let it steamroll and then and just go the entire second half like that. Yeah, you get, they, they got to make up for this now, right? And that means like you need to go out there the next couple weeks and absolutely just dominate and you got to go to Penn State. And if you, if you do this at Penn State, if you, if we lose 41 to 13 at Penn State, I'm going to have very, very different reaction on this show. If we lose the rest of the teams on our schedule, Penn State, USC, Iowa, like those good teams, you, no, no, no, there's no chance we're getting beat by 28 against those guys because like this, this may in fact be the national champion that we played tonight. Those guys aren't. And we need to, we need to step up and be a lot better. So they got to make up for it now. And I, there's a possibility that can happen. I think there's a, there's a path. There's a way. But there's a lot to be left on the table here for Patrick fans. Like we, we need a lot more out of this team. Yeah, on Wisconsin, as always, he's a G volume. I am, I am Ryan.
