Cheating is rewarded. It doesn't pay to be a good person in this day and age. It doesn't pay to be a good program to be a hard working. Uh, Mac team. If you've got big 10 officials in your pocket. If you've got the ability to uh, cheat the system at every turn. You may win in major college football. That is what has happened tonight. It is our week one recap. I am Brandon Walker is the Brandon Walker cost football show. We've got a full couple of hours here of recaps, but we must start with the headline in game tonight. It is Michigan and Western Michigan. For all intents and purposes, Western Michigan has beaten the Michigan Wolverines. They had a 12 7 lead with nine seconds left. Bryce Underwood ran around like an idiot through a ball out of the end zone.
As he threw the ball out of the end zone, the clock hit zeroes. Zeroes means the game is over. And when the game ends, that means the Western Michigan, whoever they are, the Broncos, that means Western Michigan has beaten the Michigan Wolverines. Except the officials who ignored, uh, roughing the punter penalty earlier, who ignored, uh, a face mass penalty earlier, who ignored multiple things to try to keep Michigan in the game. We're able to ignore the fact the clock went to zeroes. And therefore, Michigan gets one more chance. Bryce Underwood makes one more throw. I say one more throw probably the first word made all night. And Michigan, Michigan ends up getting the tainted, rigged, disgusting victory over Western Michigan, which means for one week, we will have to pretend that Michigan is still a ranked team. We'll have to pretend they're still a good team. They spent 59 minutes being garbage. They deserve to lose. They did lose.
You know, I almost regret the years and years I've gone back and forth day, Portanoi saying Michigan cheated and all this because this one, this one, I have no idea how if you're a college football fan, you can accept what just happened. That is unbelievable. And if the Big Ten had any stones or nuts, they wouldn't have returned the result of the game. They would simply acknowledge the result of the game. And the result of the game is the Michigan Wolverines lost to the Western Michigan Broncos. That is what happened. That is what we saw. That is what I by saw. That is zeroes on the clock. The ball still in the air, still still still being. This is one of the biggest root jobs you will ever see. This is a Mac team in Michigan would mean the world to them. Would mean the world of the conference. The Michigan Wolverines were were gifted. A victory they did not earn. And that is where we are right now. And this is a team that has lived through corruption for years and years and years. And it has solid the great week one that we have had in college football.
And when I say solid, I mean, kind of make it awesome because this is the kind of shit that you never see coming. You never ever see coming. You are right. Blutman is dying to talk. I mean, we almost just have picks. I'm sorry. I was reacting. I didn't realize I was. That was one of the all time great robberies in sports history. Brown Walker. That was corrupt. Western Michigan should hire a Kalamazoo judge to fix the outcome of this game. There were zero seconds left. Have you ever seen a game with zero seconds left? Genuinely, no time left on the clock. The ball wasn't touching anyone. So the the in stadium clock and the clock on TV were in sync. Zero seconds. What's this? Zero. No time left and they won the game. I generally don't know how they beat how big 10 and college football can let this stand. I Western Michigan walked in there and they beat Michigan. They beat them. They beat them. The score was 12. Everyone the clock went zeroes. The ref said, let's figure out a way. And the refs, my God, God bless them.
They were trying to get Michigan to win that game. The entire second half as Western Michigan was dominating Michigan. I mean, absolutely dominating them. And did you see? Did you see the look on the face of Kyle Wittingham who seemed almost embarrassed to be giving a win like that? He seemed almost embarrassed to have to go shake that man's hand across the the coach who beat him. The coach who beat his team. He had to go shake that man's hand. And it almost looked like he was apologetic because Kyle Wittingham is a good man. And he's not used to having to win like this. But now you're at Michigan and they have to win like this. This is, it's one of the craziest things. If that was a legit one second, I would be celebrating an incredible throw by Bryce Underwood right now. If that were a legit one second, I would be celebrating what a great finish. Oh my God, what a sport. But that wasn't a legit one second. It wasn't at all. And it's the only program in the country that continually gets away with shit like this. Zero is zero is zero is zero. But game is over. It's a seconding feeling.
And then the audacity of Michigan. I guess it was the students rushing the field after being given a bogus win over Western Michigan. I hope everybody enjoys what Oklahoma does to that over 80 quarterback next week. It's one of the weirdest, it's unbelievable what happened tonight. I was texting, I was FaceTiming, I was texting, I was FaceTiming Dave Wooden answering, Wooden answering, Wooden answering, Wooden answering. Finally, he FaceTimes me back. And I just say, what a coward. What a piece of shit coward. What an absolutely embarrassing embarrassing turn for college football. This sport is built on the backs of upsets. It's built on the backs of teams knowing they have a chance. It's built on the backs of abstract going, what would they have done? If the same officials have been there when AppState went in there, what they have called roughing the kicker on the block field, the block field goal. They would have figured it out of way. Those guys should never work in college football again. Those officials should never work in college football again. The replay officials should never work in college football again.
Unbelievably pathetic by Michigan that they are celebrating this victory. Bloodman thoughts? It is nothing but a large skid mark on a great college football Saturday. There's nothing else to it. This was a robbery at the eighth degree. We should you allude to it. We should be celebrating one of the special upsets in college football history. This mighty Mac team, a great Mac team, the class of the Mac going into the season who is a four touchdown underdog, spoiling Kyle Whittingham's great introductory to Michigan. Bryce Underwood is one of the biggest wastes of $12 million. You will ever see. Have you ever seen a greater waste of even $6 million? No, I can't say that I have. I want to put the look. I'm going to need the whole jug of sweet tea tonight, guys.
That's fine too. I don't have enough water in the crib for me a drink tonight. Brown Walker, we watched Western Michigan go into Ann Arbor in beat Michigan. That is the story that happened here. That happened. We saw Lance Taylor have absolutely zero, not even in ounce of respect for Bryce Underwood in the Michigan offense. They could have thrown the ball and tried to score a touchdown a few times at the end of the game. No, no, no, it was we're going to run the ball. We're going to play it safe. We're going to secure the ball, kick field goals. And that's all we need to do to win the game. They didn't even think that they needed a four point lead. They didn't even think that they needed a greater lead. They were like, hey, go down the field, try your best and go get them a feel going to nine seven game. It ain't happening. Unbelievable what we saw. It's embarrassing. It really is embarrassing. I'm sorry for rambling on, but we saw it earlier day with Boise State and how the country came together for what could have been another near four touchdown underdog winning a game.
A group of 16 going into a big 10 program and almost stealing one and that unites the country. And that brings us all together. And this is why they'll always deserve a sea of the tail. But yeah, I mean, it's a heinous robbery. A heinous robbery. It's just sickening. Good, Mark. Oh my goodness. I didn't even realize I've been so knee deep. I've been so knee deep in the absolute travesty that we just saw in Michigan. That I didn't realize LSU was just going complete belt to add some clinical. Yeah, I knew I knew it was like, I think it was 17-3 when I started getting in the Michigan stuff. But unbelievable, unbelievable. You know, if it wasn't so pathetic, it'd be awesome because it is a sport where truly anything can happen. But anything should be allowed to happen. Anything should be sanctioned to happen. It shouldn't be, let's get together, figure out a way for Michigan to have one more second. The anything that should have happened tonight was Western Michigan winning the game that they rightfully earned and won and they won that game.
And I know that Dave's doing funny tweets right now probably and he sent me a face time and everything, but it doesn't mask the ugly reality that that is a bad football team with a bad quarterback and a coach that doesn't want to be there because that's what I just saw. That coach was embarrassed to be part of whatever that fiasco was. Kyle winning him, again, good coach, good man, does not want to be a part of that. That he was embarrassed. He was absolutely shocked that he had to go shake that man's hand after robbing him in front of everybody. We got a lot. We got a lot to talk about. We got a lot of football because my god, a week one that didn't look good on paper is just delivering in space. Now, of course, you got LSU doing what they're doing. I don't even know what UCLA and Kyle are doing right now. Blutman, I really don't. It's seven to seven at the end of the first quarter. Both teams had great opening drives. I'd also like to just add on and say, if you're an AP voter and you put the number next to Michigan's name after this week, please stop watching the sport and get yourself out here and go do anything else in the world. There's no point to having you in the sport.
Be well. Don't speak for Kyle. I saw it in his face, man. I saw it in his face. I saw what he I saw him. You can't hide your eyes and it was just embarrassing. Michigan is the biggest joking college football right now. They just got beat by Western Michigan and had to cheat. Literally, we all saw it. I don't know why the officials were in on it with him, but that's what happened. So just what fucking happened. There's not even like me being a bitch. That's just what happened. The clock hit zeroes as Michigan's last attempt failed. And they got together and said, let's give them another chance. And I guess credit to the guy for making a better throw the second time. At least he hit the end zone. I guess credit to the guy who made the catch. I guess credit to all that. But it's hard to credit it when it shouldn't have been allowed. It should not have been allowed. All right. This is the Brandon Walker College football show. We are doing our Saturday recap. And I guess we were handed Manel from Heaven tonight because my god, what a lead in what a lead in of one of the great programs in college football, needing to be coddled and shepherded to victory when they did not earn it.
When they were beaten by Western Michigan, I think the big 10 office should announce tomorrow that we're acknowledging the true result of that game. The true result being what happened between the zeros. And that would be Western Michigan winning that game 12 to 7. All right, bloodmin. Can we just talk for a second? I started this day in Bloomington, Indiana. I've been on my couch ever since. My voice might go in and out. But that is, you know, that sucks on a Monday when you're doing your first show. But I believe in a Saturday, kind of charming. You should lose your voice on a Saturday if you're a college football guy. So let's just go into it right now. I got so many things to talk about. I got, I got, I got takes. I got the three big games I pulled out and then I got nine takes. And then we got our categories that we're going to do. We're going to do our most impressive team or most depressing team. Our most badass thing of the day. The, I told you so. The hand up I was wrong. Who won the week who lost the week? And what are we doing? And I do believe, what are we doing? You should be the shit list.
I'm trying to do a face term. But what are we doing is going to be pretty easy now because I had a, what are you doing based on what the officials did in Oregon today? But now I have a new, what are you doing? Anyway, let's go right to it. The number one game of the day before we got that robbery tonight was Oregon Boise State. And I would like to point out the hypocrisy of college football fans, myself included. I would like to point out the ridiculous nature of the way we reacted to things. You know, on a day where Texas was killing some poor sap and on a day Miami killed Stanford yesterday and on a day where Oklahoma killed some poor sap and on a day where all these highly ranked teams were just destroying bad teams. We were begging for somebody for matchups. We were begging for LSU Clemson, which is a blowout. We were begging for Ole Miss Louisville tomorrow. And Notre Dame was constant. We were begging for anybody to play. And Oregon, the number two team in the country, did play somebody.
They did play Boise State. They played a very well-coached, very seasoned, not afraid team. A team who's been here before. And they fell behind 17-7. They were behind the front and we just destroyed him for it. We killed him. Oh my God. What an embarrassment. Terrible embarrassing. You're going out there week one. You suck. I can't believe I picked you to win the National Title. I can't believe Brandon Walker picked him to win the National Title. They ended up coming back and winning. They won a game against a very good team. That they beat by three a couple of years ago. And then went on to be 12 and 0 and the number one's seen to play off. And now they beat him again. 34 to 27. Very good win. A good comeback. Oregon tested its medal in the first week. Oregon tested itself. And Oregon passed the test. Dante and Moore was tested. Wasn't very good in the first half. It was great in the second half. But because they weren't winning 59, nothing. We're like, oh, they suck. They suck. The hypocrisy of myself and other people is a little bit crazy. Bloodman, do we come out of there?
Do we come out of there saying this is a team whose whose holes got show. This is a team whose weaknesses got exposed. Or this is a team who tested itself in week one. Pass the test. And we'll be exactly what we thought they would be all along. Well, don't forget not too long ago. 2024, right? They beat boys. He stay on the walkoff field goal. And they still went to the playoff. It is still early. Wow, singing again, zero sucks. The clock congrats to West from Michigan. Great win. The key thing for me is Dante and Moore looked off at times. But the defense of flying really got pushed around by boys. He stayed. And that to me was the most flat out surprising thing is how you saw down a lot of the games today. And again, last year in week one, guys just aren't showing up from the physical standpoint that they knew to in week one. Like they they really haven't got their feet. What they haven't got hit yet. They don't know what to expect almost and kind of just shocks and surprises them. I felt like that happened to the Oregon defensive line.
There'll be a great group all year. This to me is, hey, man, boys, he stayed. That answer to every single question that they needed to as the group of six contender. Because each group of six contender had questions coming in. They answered every question. They're the best team in the group of six hands down. They've got Memphis. You know that game. They got Memphis. They also go at Western Michigan. What is scheduled for them? Yeah, by the way, look, I don't know if Davis tweeted, they did FaceTime me and I did answer it because I'm not a coward. So I did answer it. I don't know if you've got, if you've got Davis Twitter, if you got that FaceTime you can play. Because I answered it and I said, you're a coward, you're a piece of shit. Celebrating a win like that and embarrassing. Well, we got here. I haven't seen it yet. I just know I lived it. Let's do the little volume there. Okay, come on. You got it.
Look at him. What? For Western Michigan? They beat Western Michigan. He's not picking it up. I did pick up. You spoke so, you spoke so, you're so dumb, you spoke so, you spoke so, you spoke so, you spoke so, you spoke so, you got to wait until Triple Zero. Oh, you're right. I did wait until Triple Zero's. There were three zeroes. There were so many zeroes. There were zeroes everywhere. I waited until three zeroes. I was over and I faced him three times. He didn't answer. I faced him three times. I had Tommy on my six. Tommy was recording it. I had it. Whatever. Whatever. Western Michigan coach, but W's up. Because they won the game. It was over. It was over. Because they won the game.
Western Michigan beat Michigan. It happened. It's not like, oh, if this call had gone that way. If that call had gone this way, no, they beat him. The game was over. The game ended. Big 10, meet tomorrow. Say, hey, let's honor the fact that this game ended. And then fire those officials. And then fire the replay guys. You got to do those two things. They're getting the plaque. I mean, that. Obviously, they're not going to overturn the result of the game. But I don't think those officials can work anymore. Because it's not only that. Again, again, they ignored a face mask on a third down in fourth quarter. A vicious face mask. They ignored a, a, a, a, a, roofing the punter. Like they ignored everything. All right. We got to focus. We got a lot of college football talk about. Shout out to Boise State and Oregon for giving us something pretty awesome today. For giving us the feeling of a good midseason war between a couple of good teams.
And you're right. I mean, Boise State is the G6 representative as far as I'm concerned. Obviously, North Dakota State will be figured out later. And I don't even know what Memphis is doing right now. They were up 11 last time. 11. Yeah. Did they win by 11? I think 22, something like that. It's very key. They won by more than 10 and a half. They, they definitely won more by 10. Yeah. But, but, but, like Boise State and Oregon gave us something today. They gave us, uh, a taste. They gave us a taste of some, some, some very good football. And, and you know, uh, Boise State made Oregon bleed. And bleeding in week one, we're not used to it. Because all these other teams aren't planning anybody. But bleeding in week one doesn't mean you're not going to be what you thought you're going to be. I had a guy tonight say, well, you thought Oregon was going to win an national title. I still think Oregon could win the national title. I mean, they still have the roster. And when they got down, my God, those receivers. Like, you can't hold them down because, uh, everybody hears about Evan Stewart, DeCory and Moore. DeCory Moore with absolutely a joystick touchdown, uh, to, uh, to, to jook out two guys.
And then, um, McClellan, the other receiver and then not to more just, you know, it wasn't great. It wasn't great. And then all of a sudden he's throwing darts. Um, that's that game. Auburn Baylor was just a beautiful mess and a train wreck of an ugly week one game where you got two teams that don't know who they are and don't know what they're going to be. I was prepared to say, you know, Alice Goliath looks like a coach who might have won his first game, but he still looks like he's over his head at this level. And then that was topped by Kyle Wittingham winning his game. So that's where we are on that. But as far as Auburn and Baylor, a beautiful mess. What do you make, Blutman? Of a random going for two down 17, 16. Now, let me set the stage for people who haven't watched or whatever. Maybe they'll only watch it one time. Um, Baylor ends up coming down, scoring on fourth down. They can tie the game, go to overtime, which I think they probably should have because they have them. They were the better team today.
But anyway, I ran to the size. I'm going to roll the dice and I'm going to go for two to win the game right here. He rolls, they rolled DJ lagway out to the right. He throws the ball to the tight end. The tight end looks like he is open. No tight end is open. Lagway throws it a half a step behind him. He has to turn and when he turns, um, Auburn players name plays winters. Went, Eric Winters. Yeah. Eric Winters, form tackle right on the ball, right in his arms grabs him, tackles him right there. He gains after the ball touches his hands. He gains 0.00 yards. Baylor ends up winning. But what do you make of the call? What do you make of the execution? And what do you make of the choice to go for two? Going for two in my opinion was the right call. DJ lagway is playing on a sprained ankle. How much of a better opportunity are you going to get in overtime game that might just end up being a two point off anyway? Get your best two point look out there. They did. The throws just not good enough. And the play by Eric Winters is incredible. Also in overtime, I think Byron Brown's just going to run the ball.
I think Auburn's just going to be able to run the ball at will over you in the 25 yards span. I like the call to go for two. It was the right move. It was there. The look was there. They had to win. I think it's the epitome of professionalism that I can keep going despite Michigan absolutely robbing us of the integrity of college football. And that's a sport that has all the integrity of a Las Vegas hooker after a three day bender. But still still. Michigan has even gone below those standards. It's gone below Vivian and pretty woman standards. It is gone below absolute dumpster. Oh my god. Oh three two one one two three. What the heck is bothering me? And now I got to get on plane and go to Ann Arbor next week and pretend that that didn't happen. But I'm not gonna. Oh my gosh, you have to go there. Yeah, I'm going. We're going next week. We're going. You want a pathetic place that's going to be.
It's going to be unbelievable. They're going to be happy. They're Western Michigan stuff. Hey, listen, what do you think? You think I haven't already ordered it? How the fuck you think you're talking to? I got a big customer. The fact William, they rushed the field. They started the field. They started the field for being Western Michigan. They have they started the field. There were there were there were triple zeros on the clock. What happens when there's triple zeros? The game ends. It's over. Coaches shake hands. I want to throw this out there to you. Yeah, it's not just one referee. It's not just one official. It's not just one game clock operator. It's not just one human at fault here. Multiple human beings looked at those three digits and said, you know what? They looked at that play saw the ball. Not a one's hands. It said, you know what? It's close enough. We might be able to get away with this. We might be able to swindle Hoodwink, deceive every viewer watches this.
How many people do you think we're watching? Tens of millions. That was all of the all time great moments. All of us. All of us. The way. What is why are you blaming Michigan for the referees decision? Blaming Michigan. What a what a pathetic sad side question. Why are you blaming us? We're just the ones that that got. Oh my gosh Kyle Wittigham said there wasn't time. Kyle Wittigham said it. He mounted to the lay its tailor. Er, well, not mouth. They said it. He said there wasn't time. They've got to let big 10 do what's right. I'm just saying do what's right big 10. What a just also Lane Kiffin said imagine if we had NFL players at the halftime report. The sports office heels right now. What bar from him? Oh, he said there wasn't time. He's actually telling him big 10. You got to do it. You got to fix it. You got to fix it. You got to fix it. That is, I told you Kyle Wittigham's a good man. Kyle Wittigham is a good man. He don't want to be part of this crab. I have to he wouldn't have to win like that.
Kyle Wittigham, you should quit. I'd quit. I'd quit. If I had to be surrounded, if I had to answer to a miskin man, I'd fucking quit. And there's no way I'd keep going to work. I wouldn't do it. I can't pretend. I can't pretend that the miskin and the ways that miskin are all right and good. I wouldn't take a dollar from a miskin man. Wouldn't take a dollar. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to have a little throat coat T. Because I have a couple of hours worth of worth of shit to talk about. So if you'll just excuse me, while miskin sieves in my mind, while I think of a program that prides itself and being historic and awesome and iconic, then they have to resort to cheating like this. I am going to drink a little bit of throat coat. You guys sit there, do whatever you want for a second. And I'm going to see if I can't coat my throat with some warm bubbly. So I can talk better.
That's so hot. Okay, hold on. It's too hot. If I had an assignment for school, thank you. The two days said 11.59 pm. And I went to go put in at 12 a.m. Would that would would that be on time? No, no, no, they cheated. They cheated. That's what happened. But you know what? When Oklahoma is absolutely making Bryce Underwood cry next week, we can at least have that. We'll at least have that. All right. A little bit of Auburn Baylor. Lagway, by the way. Alice Goldis is in over his headed Auburn. He's not the guy. I can tell that immediately. Biber Brown is not an SEC level quarterback. They're going to get figured out too. They're not going to have a great year. Goldis is going to have to go get him another quarterback next year because that that part's not going to work. Baylor did everything but when that game.
And now we've got LSU Clemson. LSU is up 31 to 3 at the half. Absolute behind the shed. Whippin is this LSU announcing itself as bonafide national title contender because it looks like it to me. This doesn't just feel like Clemson. Slipping away from the even the middle of the sport at the top of the sport. It just feels like LSU. It feels like LSU announcing. You know what? We don't have these two NFL players but we got a lot. We got 40 million dollars worth of players here and we're really fucking good. I disagree with you there. I think this is both those things. I think this is LSU marching forward saying yes, we are with the NFL guys are not. We are contying for a national championship this year. And Sam Loveitt is the perfect. You know what? He is the perfect quarterback for a lane kiffon offense. He's sassy. He's swaggy. He's fiery. Doesn't all like that. He's a roller coaster of emotions highs and lows. Throws and don't like. Yes, he is.
But this is also Clemson. Not moving forward at all. And yeah, dabbell flared with the portal a little more in NIL and everything. But it's not. It's not full fledged. It doesn't feel. It doesn't feel because we know he doesn't embrace this sport in the direction it's going. And I stand with them for that. It is going the wrong way. But Clemson, it almost does feel like they're being left behind and there's a tumble we about to go by somewhere. I don't I don't see it the same way as you. Yeah, it absolutely. It does feel like you're right. It Clemson is even a couple of years ago, they would have put up more of a fight than this. It wouldn't be 31 to 3 at the half. But yeah, Levitt's answering all the questions and the LSU defense looks like there's 14 of them on the field at all times. I mean, just athletically you can tell the difference in these two teams and that's kind of fast. They're fast. They're big. It feels like they're really, really big. And I don't know what it is. I don't know if it's the weather.
I don't know if it's the darkness. I don't know if it's the little bit of rain. But this might be the best looking game I've ever seen in 4K. I don't know if it's a uniform matchup. It's just so my 4K TV is fucking popping tonight. We got a lot of takes. A lot of takes to get off. I got about 9 or 10 takes from the World of Cals for all of the day. Then we'll get into our category. Then we'll get into our categories of multiple stroke coat. We'll get into the categories and stuff like that. We have a bunch of new categories this year. But I got to tell you guys, where Reese is out tonight, huh? We got to tell you about Reese's all night. You know why? So Reese's takeover up in here. Shout out to the Reese's, the official candy partner of Barstool Sports. It is the best wherever you go. Reese's should not be far behind because if you're on the highway and you're stopping to get gas, going to the side of the gas station, get your Reese's. If you go and get your prescription filled with the drug store, go get your Reese's. If you're on the grocery store and get a full grocery, get your Reese's. Wherever you are, you're at the bookstore. Guess what? I think I can't do that.
Get your Reese's. Reese's is the official candy partner of Barstool Sports. Nothing like sitting on the couch all day. I just pop up on Reese's every now and then. I got this product right here, but I got product all over my house. And it is so, so, so, so good. Reese's is truly the college football of candy. That's what I say. It's the college football. It's just good all the time. Reese's the official candy partner of Barstool Sports. Go get Reese's wherever you shop. Okay, here we go. I might have to eat like 50 of these tonight to just get over my. Anyway, I'm just going to go through about 10 takes, Bloodman, you stop me when you won't stop me. We're also going to unveil the first time our top 10 players of the week. We've never done that before. We'll do all that. So I'm watching the chat right now. Let's talk about the North sellers. It's coming. We're going to talk about everybody. We're going to talk about everybody that that was relevant. We're going to talk about everybody that has played. Obviously, Michigan kind of stole the headlines there at the top, but that's good. I like, I like a little controversy.
I like a little, you know, upsetting the Apple cart. I just don't like what happened to Western Michigan and everything like that. So here we go. I'm just going to kind of go from this morning. And I'm going to ask you a couple of questions as part of my takes. Bloodman, are we concerned at all about Indiana's defense? Now, I want to say a couple of things in Indiana's defense. First of all, they got outgain, 367 to 365. And the offense looked very good. Mars looked very good. Josh Hoover looked very good. Josh Hoover with the iconic, you know, bloody face. Are we at all concerned about their defense? It was also a ridiculously hot day in Indiana. We did the show this morning. It was very hot. I don't say it was probably over 100 degrees inside the stadium during the game. There were the distractions of being defending national champs and starting the starting the season. But ultimately, North Texas moved the ball a lot. And we didn't think people were going to be able to move the ball against Indiana. So are we concerned at all about Indiana's defense? Unmute yourself before you answer my question,
DeBoy. I have me myself. You say life up on going to be a consummate professional. I will not I will be cautiously. I will monitor if that's okay. Because I remember last year against Ultiminion, first place 75 yards, Colton Joseph, Offerip, there were still questions at the beginning. This is a light non-conference schedule as per Signetti's model. It is preseason football. It is gang the King's out. It is figuring everything out. They're still old. They're still experienced. There were still questions for me like, yeah, they got punched in the mouth. North Texas did move the ball on them. Dave and Jackson, former Hoosier. But I'm going to cautiously monitor. I'm not going to over react. Brand Walker in 2026. We've learned. Let's not over react. Let's not over react. We're not we're not an overreaction show. We're not over reactant to Indiana. We're not over reactant to Michigan with the greatest robbery in the history of college football. We're not over reactant to any of that. We're not over reacting. And I'm not over reacting either because if there's one coaching staff or fan base, same level.
It's nine for 19 for 123 yards and one interception. They're up 31 to three. Anyway, oh, didn't that thing. Good Lord. Good Lord. I didn't realize he wasn't even having a good night throwing the football. If there's one coaching staff that we know is going to get it together and isn't going to worry about what happened today. It's going to take it to the practice field and fix it. It's this Indian a coaching staff. They have the best coaching staff in the country. They have way too much back on defense for me to worry about a sluggish start. It was a sluggish start defensively. It wasn't great, but I'm going to go ahead and say they get a pass. Are we going to over react or are we right to react? So the fact that Ryan Coleman Williams, Alabama, isn't very good at catching footballs anymore. Or is Ryan Coleman Williams at Alabama simply, uh, simply a decent player propped up by one play his freshman season and a high school recruiting ranking of five stars. I think he had 43 maybe catchers.
He didn't have that many catches his first year, but he had that one iconic play against Georgia. So we acted like he's up there with Jeremiah Smith to the world. Hey, isn't he wasn't he never was and he never will be today. You had a, I think you had a fumble. You had a couple of drops. Alabama looked, you know, as good. They look fine. They look fine. I guess a bad team. But this is a guy that we kind of still look at as if he has a five star pedigree. Well, not realizing that kind of lies about his abilities. Thoughts about that. Tell me you didn't watch a game, Brian. This guy says, tell us you didn't watch the game, Brian. I did watch the game. I watched the game. He's not good. I'm going to leave you stunned right now. Okay, do it. He had five for one 30. It didn't feel like that. Yeah, no, no. Because he should have, because he should have had, he should have had like eight for two 50. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it's that. And this is the whiny chat hating on that again. If you can't handle reality, don't come.
If you can't handle reality, do not, do not come watch. That's all I'm asking you. If you can't handle me saying your five star quarterback shouldn't drop every third ball. Don't do him. Then, then just please don't watch. I would, I would suggest that Josh Payton will be alive tomorrow. Go watch him. He'll, he'll rub you a little diaper and put some towel comp out on there and said everything's cute. I tell the boys good. Right. Call him in catch. This isn't. Hey, it's just fair. Chris is a. I have a super talented player who is very aggraving the watch who has many more drops than touchdowns in his last year and a half playing football. Why he went no, no gloves was a bold decision. It didn't pay off week one. Let's go back the gloves week two. He also had a fumble if I'm not mistaken. I feel like he's trying to be too cool. Is that a fair assessment? He's trying to be too cool and he's trying to be the highlight. Well, not wearing gloves is kind of a look at me move and everything. All right, we got a lot.
We got to keep going. What? I just want to say, I just want to say you got a quarterback and I got a football team. I just want a little spoiler there. You got a quarterback. I got football to you. I don't know about your football team, but I haven't felt this way since Dak Prescott. That's all I'll say. I'm not going to give you this mother. And there's a lot of people out there feeling like I'm feeling right now. I know Tennessee's feeling with Faeson Brandon. You got a lot of teams out there that feeling they got a quarterback. But then you got some teams that thought they were going to have a quarterback. I mean, they don't feel that way because they know for a home estate. You thought true, Mastamaker is going to come in. We're going to score a bunch of points. You lose 24-tanded Tulsa. And not only that, not only that, bloodmin, but the Tulsa coach goes to the locker room. It goes to the press conference and says, should have been worse. Should have been 30-10. Should have been 37. We should have killed him. Like he's not wrong. I've had a lot of guys on this show. Mick Shea, was it Mick Shea?
Or Staples? Was it Mick Shea? I thought Mick Shea talked them up. Staples might have talked them up. Some multiple people have talked to Oklahoma State. I believe for Nelly, talked them up. For Nelly, picked them. You've talked them up. I've kind of just gone along with it and agreed with it because yeah, it sounds about right. Sounds pretty good. Yeah, sure, sure. Absolutely garbage debut. They almost got saved. They almost got saved by winning him sucking so bad. But you wanted more than that from Eric Morris. You wanted more than that from Mastamaker. And I know their offensive line was just getting gassed all day. There's wasn't there. But one of the more disappointing results of week one, Oklahoma State. Yeah. Tray Lam, Tulsa Head Coach was right. I watched every snap of that game. You want to talk about refereeing gang in the way of the little guy trying to beat a power for opponent. That was happening. It felt like every touchdowns. Correct. Oh, again, he said it should have been 34, uh, 10 or whatever. Every big play Tulsa had,
I was coming back laundry on the field every single time. Kicker missed two field goals as well for Tulsa. It can't go understated. Mastamaker was not good. Held onto the ball too long. Throws too high. Wasn't in sync with his guys. That offensive line looked like they wouldn't be good enough to play at SUNY Cortland. Yeah, it was bad. It was bad. Moving on. Face on Brandon once again, 226 yards, three touchdowns. Just trying to think of the teams in the quarterbacks that were excellent today. Like Kenny Menti was excellent for Kentucky. Four touchdowns. Mason Hainchill and, you know, take a lot of these with grains of salt. A lot of them played, you know, bad opponents. Mason Hainchill, I believe, 453 yards, seven touchdowns at pit. Ridiculous. Just just throwing the ball around the yard. You can weigh in here with anybody. I guess what I'm saying is, all these great quarterbacks, all these great showings today. And yet tonight we were subjected to a five star bus
who was bailed out by a referee and crew that should never work again. And Michigan stole that game from Western Michigan. That is what I say. Nate Shepard told Paul 35 times. Lenore Sellers was very good today. Camcorder. Steve Angelie was good today. Thank you very much. Archmaning, shout out to Archman because they didn't play anybody. Sure. Fine. But they also didn't play anybody in like weeks, weeks one and three last year. Actually, week one was the last day of game. Like week two or three last year. They didn't play anybody and he struggled. He was bad. Well, this year he was sharp. He was ready to go. Two touchdowns to Cam Coleman. I don't know what arch through for like three hundred three hundred five yards. Are they right? Down three hundred five yards four touchdowns. Again, I'm not saying he invented the wheel or he beat a great team. But he was miles ahead of where he was this time last year. So shout out to Arch. And I'm just going to do it. I'm going to do it. There's a special special talent in Starkville, Mississippi. He six foot four.
He threw the ball seven yards tonight on his back foot. It's he runs like a deer. Come on, Taylor. It will be the best quarterback in this country. At some point over the next three years. That's what I'm saying. I don't care. I don't care about these hose, man. I don't care. I'm tired. I'm tired of hiding my cowbell. I'm tired of hiding behind not being very good. We got a fucking dude. Now, I'm going to go further. One more take here. Lost in the Michigan. Lost in everything to happen today. Is how stunningly good Miami looked last night. Now, Stanford. Not going to win any super balls this year. Stanford not going to win the World Series. Stanford not going to win the I did a ride. But Stanford, at least, is a power for opponent. They're at least, you know, they're not who we play. ULM, they're not ULM. They're they're a level above that. And Miami just, oh my god.
And if Camario Taylor, if he's Camario Taylor is not the best player of the week, because Malachi Tony, 12 catches 234 yards, really took a big step towards the high. And then, of course, the quarterback, Derry Mensen was almost perfect. Like Miami was good at every level of football. And taking it with the grain of salt that they beat Stanford 45-6, even for just beating Stanford, it was remarkably impressive. And Miami looks like a top three to four playoff. Contender, championship contender, thoughts. To go and do that, coast to coast, opening week against the team. Again, albeit Stanford, they already got their feet wet. They already play the home top ball game. To go and do that from snap one is as impressive as anybody had all all weekend. Malachi Tony hit the high, husband posed three times. Maybe he should have hit six times. I think he should hit it every single time he scores this year. I believe that's what he's going to do. Derry and Medsa first came in a new system, Brandon.
Third new system in three years, right? And he goes and he does that. He was perfect. Let me stop you there is the high-smum button being pressed too much. Don't think it is. All right, so because my guy Camario hit it tonight after his first touchdown. That no. Jeremiah Smith hit it today. I assume Jeremiah Smith was in response to Malachi Tony hitting it three times. Is it too much? That's all I'm asking. It's hard for me. Katie hidden is really fun. If Tony and Jeremiah both did it every touchdown they scored this year. What's unfortunately Jeremiah already didn't. That would have rocked so much. Just back and forth like they just go back and forth with with high-ismans. Yeah, I want more and maybe we maybe we start putting spins on the high-isman. Maybe we do a little 360 and then hit it. Get dainty with it. Oh my gosh.
That he is. I got 38, I got 38, 38 here. And this is a statement by LSU, man. This is an absolute statement. This is this is coming out and saying, you know what, all the distractions, everything. Doesn't fucking matter where we got the coach now. We got the roster. We got the quarterback. We got everything. They are absolutely going out there. And playing like a team that just belongs in the national title conversation. Let's move on a little bit. Let me, we'll get to our categories in just a second. So we talked to Oregon, boys, you state. We talked to Auburn Baylor. We talked to LSU, Clemson a little bit. Oklahoma state, of course. Just make sure I didn't miss anybody here. Florida looked pretty good. It took him a while. Who else looked bad? Is there anybody else that looked bad? Colorado would be Georgia Tech the other night. We hadn't really talked about that. Shout out to them. We're going on the road and doing it. Last night you had Oklahoma. That defense is just going to be so light out all you. That defense is so nasty. I think from a level to level standpoint, level one, two, three.
Line linebackers defensive backs. I think they're the best in the country. I don't know who's better than them. I know George on the back end is elite and great and perfect. But on the front end, they need to get a little bit better. They need to get a little bit more pressure. I think Oklahoma's just so good from front to back. I do as well. Also, Satania. You can't really, you can't pawn to Satania. Yeah. And Mathieu just needs to be like 70% of a really good quarterback this year for them to go 10 and 2. He doesn't have to be 100% good every week. He just needs to, but I don't know. Where Oklahoma next week or where Western Michigan do or where a combination? What do I do? Maybe both. Maybe you do both. Do you want, would you like to get to our categories? Because we could open it up to the chat right now. It's all about Michigan. Michigan. Virginia Tech look real good. Did you see not to tube my own horn, but we have the Liam Blutman cover your eyes game of the week.
I haven't come back and check the final score. But I think we've got a team emerging that we need to pay attention to every single week now. Last week, last week Northwestern State lost to Louisiana Christian and in a, in a IA school. This week with four minutes ago, I see the final. God damn it. With four minutes going to third quarter, they were down 77 to three. They did score. They did kick a field call the fourth quarter to lose 80 to six to Louisiana Tech. I think I might be addicted to Northwestern State. They lost 80 to six and then they lost Louisiana Christian. I'm following them all year. So this, I pitched a category to you a few days ago and that brought up our least windstrap. I pitched, we should pick a team to not win a game all season, check in every Saturday night to see if they win a game. They were doing it. And no way. They might not win a quarter. They might not want to drive. They might not win a snap.
They lost 80 to six. And listen, I, you know, Kansas State, well, Kansas State me somebody 71 to three, you know, pit score a lot of points. Georgia scored 63 points. They lost 80 to six to Louisiana Tech. They lost 86 Louisiana Tech. God, I want to look at these stats for Michigan 1312. They win the final score. 221 total yards for Western Michigan 276 total yards for Michigan. Through one interception. 276 yards, they end up winning a game. Bryce under what was 1312 or 22 for 170 and one touchdown and one interception. The touchdown, of course, was the bogus one that happened at the end. What you got? I was listening to weighing in. I'm trying to, I'm just trying to go back through my head just to make sure we get all the takes out because I want to be fair to the teams that played on Friday.
I'm just going to look at the scores real quick before we get to our categories and open this thing up. You know, Purdue 4419. They didn't look very good for a while. Kansas 516. Michigan State was in a war. You know, several, several first year coaches. And I think that's a good thing to talk about right now. Several first year coaches. Then might be wondering if the job they've taken might be bigger than they anticipated. And I think Michigan State, I think Michigan, obviously, Kyle Wittingham, they can have fun and they can celebrate. They got Oklahoma on the schedule. They got Ohio State on the schedule. They got Indiana on the schedule. They're going to have to answer a lot of questions throughout the year and they're going to do it with a bad quarterback and a bad roster. So like Michigan is Kyle Wittingham happy where he's at. Goalish, I think, looked like he was out of sorts. Goalish, like he didn't really belong where he was. So I don't know. I, and of course, Ohio State, Oklahoma State and Eric Morris down there. That wasn't impressive at all.
A lot of first year coaches kind of limping out of the blocks is what I'm trying to say. Unmute yourself every time you go to talk. I'm listening to the Wittingham and Lance Taylor. Well, don't listen to the Wittingham Lance Taylor. I have to. I got to do social for the show. I got to do all the show. I got to build your brand. You're on the show now. That's my first year at coaches showing up. Good Lord. Will Stein look pretty good. I guess I'll give that all right. Mention, Mention's a dog. Yeah, Mention is a dog. I. Hey. Kentucky host Alabama next week. We said a few weeks ago. Kentucky host Alabama next week. That's all I'm saying. Arizona State Coast text saying them next week. Ticks. That's a team Houston that not impressed at all in week one. Houston didn't look good at all. Houston didn't look good at all. They ended up winning about double digits at the end, but they really struggled. I thought they were going to be way better. But you know what? He hit on so many transfer guys last year.
You just assume he's going to do it again. And when you're trying to do that every single year, there can be a lot of volatility to that. Before I get to the categories, I want to tell you about Reese's one more time. Nothing goes better than a date of college football like Reese's. I'd Reese's on the plane today coming back from Bloomington in the end. So shout out to Reese's the peanut butter cup. They have all manner of candy. We have the Reese's room that has the Hershey cookies and cream bar, which I love. But the payday like there's all sorts of candies in our Reese's room that are fantastic, but none better than their old-fashioned Reese's peanut butter cup. Reese's the official candy partner or barstool sports. Reese's is taking over this show tonight. So shout out to Reese's shout out to college football. What a great marriage. All right. Are you ready to do a little categories? And then we will go down the rabbit holes as the categories allow us. Are you ready? Yeah, I am. Who is the most impressive team in week one? Would you like me to go first or would you like to go first? You go first. I will go first. And since I'm going to leave you my amy
because I got to say LSU what they're doing right now is pretty eye opening. The chat and other people will all we'll say, oh yeah, but it's just Clemson. Maybe Clemson's terrible. Maybe Clemson's is. I think we've got enough evidence over the last 15, 20 years that Clemson isn't out and out terrible. I think Clemson is well coached. Clemson is a dependable power for program. They're not at the top of the sport like they used to be. And maybe they're not even top 25 like they used to be. But still, 38-3 midway through the third quarter and your defences absolutely suffocating them. Your offense is going up and down the field. You have to give credit for an LSU team that decided last year it wasn't good enough. They went out and spent all the money. Now you look at their defense. You've got 6'4, 300 pounds gazelles running all over the place. You've got an offense that's spreading the ball out. This is remarkably impressive from LSU. It is remarkably impressive.
And I don't like anybody's in week one. Yeah, but it's just this team. It's just that team. Everybody's coming off an eight month by week. Everybody is. And a lot of teams are coming off an eight month by week with entirely new rosters and coaching staff. And LSU, this is fucking impressive. They are the number one most impressive team of the week. Who's your most impressive team of the week? It has to be LSU. I was going to say, boys, you stayed for all the reasons I gave at the top of the hour. But if I'm not going to go LSU, I'm going to go with the officials in the Michigan, the Western Michigan game. It is beyond impressive that they were able to swindle, deceive Hoodwink and Rob. Tens of millions, hundreds of millions of people watching that came. And it hasn't been said yet. Crazy what they did to these poor players and coaches. I can't, I can't imagine what the players in the Western Michigan lock room and how they're feeling on this bus ride home. It's impressive what the efficient was able to do.
The rob a bunch of kids and men of a great lifetime achievement. Like, yeah. It's been 19 years since AppState beat Michigan. We still play the clips. We still know the call. We still remember where we were. And that moment was happening tonight. And the officials stepped in and didn't allow it to happen. And I think what you just said is one of the better points I've ever heard on a podcast. The officials, they're six of them. They're a team of officials. They are a team. And they were the most dominant team in college football history tonight. They were able to ignore a face mask in the fourth quarter. They were able to ignore roughing the punter. Or running into the punter really. But it would have been key. And then they were able to find a second where it did not exist. That second didn't exist. Second was gone. It was a fart in the wind. Didn't it wasn't there. And they found it. And they gave it to Michigan. And they gave him a gift. Kyle Whittingham didn't want it. But Michigan fans took it. You're right. But Miami also. Miami, if we're talking most impressive teams in week one,
I think what LSU is doing right now is super impressive. I think what Miami did last night was super duper impressive. They just, they just stole the heart and the soul of Stanford and did it all night. Did it for four quarters? Just never, never let them breathe. That's when you go on the road and do that. You are a super good team. Let's try, Blum and let's try to see if we can't answer these questions without falling back on the crutch of what happened tonight in Ann Arbor. Are you ready? We could try. We could give that an attempt. Who is the most depressed team in America after week one? Now, now, now, now. The most depressed team was going to be Michigan. And it should be Michigan. It was going to be the team that spent $12 million on a faulty quarterback. It was going to be the team that hired a coach to come in and fix things. It didn't get fixed. It was going to be the team that lost the western Michigan in real time.
But that was stolen from us. So the answer is Rutgers. Is there anybody more depressed than Rutgers right now? Maybe Oklahoma State? Maybe Rutgers. Rutgers was playing a team that had one and two years. Rutgers was playing the worst team in the country and got their ass kicked. That's depressing. This is actually a great debate. Is it Rutgers who didn't have expectations? KJ Dolph Antoine Raymond, two of the best players in the Big Ten. KJ won the best shirts in the country. So four touchdown favor against a team that can't compete with almost any team in the FBS. Or is it Oklahoma State who had all this belief, all this rejuvenated energy, two touchdown favorites on the road against an in-state school who beat them to get their last coach fired? So what you're talking about is Hope versus, um, sad first despair.
Your hope versus despair and Rutgers is the epitome of despair. But what is more despair than entering the season with hope and immediately having it sucked out of your body? Oklahoma State fans spent nine months talking themselves into turning the page, talking themselves into now or paying money, talking themselves into messed-up maker, talking themselves into Morris. And at least we're just opening with Tulsa. I know we got a Oregon week two, but we're going to get our feet wet with Tulsa. We're going to score a lot of points and then we're going to deal with Oregon. Now all that hope is gone in one week. It's gone. And you can't really get it back. I suppose that could be to Oregon, but they can't be to Oregon. So that's that. But there's a whole different world entirely than coming in the season at home. I guess a UMass team that is a free win. That is how they were looked at. They were a free win. You're 29 point favorites and you lost by double digits. It's a fascinating debate. Who's more depressed?
Oklahoma State or Rutgers? And I guess Western Michigan right now because they've been jobbed. Yeah. I don't know. I got something else for this later. So I'll save it. What was the most bad as a new topic? New topic. We got most impressive team, most depressed teams, most badass thing you saw today. I told you so in the hand up. I was wrong. What's the most badass thing you saw today, Blutman? You got QB1 coming into a new program. And somewhere in the and somewhere in his debut, his face is a Glush is gushing red liquid. It's blood. His face is a bloody. He will be bruised for days and weeks after this. But you look that man. You look that leader right into his eyes right into his bloody gory face that looks very akin to a wolf hunting its prey. And you know, I could go to battle. I could go to war. I could die on this battlefield.
Every single week for this man right here, the warrior of the week is Josh Hoover. And it's not even remotely close. And all he did after being look like he was in a five round bound in the UFC was throw a touchdown pass. My bad, my most badass thing of the day, other than my voice getting, uh, getting tougher and tougher. You're doing well though. Thank you. My most badass thing of the day. Eric Winters was the difference in a win and a loss. Eric Winters was standing near his goal line. If he makes a perfect tackle, Auburn wins. If he makes anything less than a perfect tackle, Auburn loses. Now he was helped by DJ Lagway who couldn't throw a ball on target to save his life at times. Who turned and had a wide open tied end. If he leads him at all, it's an easy walk in touchdown. He didn't. He made him turn around. But Eric Winters saw that gift. Rapt him up, grabbed him, took him straight to the ground. A remarkable tackle when an inch here or an inch there is a difference in winning and losing.
And that's unbelievable. Somebody says Rocky Bears hurdle. By the way, that's a fantastic one. You guys in the jack can weigh in too. I've got Eric Winters tackle. But Rocky Bears hurdle on that long touchdown last night from John Mateer against UTIP I believe was fantastic. But my, my personally, and yes, the quarterback for for for Indiana, the bloody face. I mean, in the end, it's like almost got an embarrassment of riches as far as like memes and iconic imagery over the land. Like they're catching up to the rest of college football by just spamming the button. You got signetti, you know, looking down the line last year. You got signetti saying, Google me. And now you got your new quarterback in his first game with a busted up nose. Looking awesome. Looking like he's playing in 1962 in Lambo field. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. Jamal rule three touchdown game was a true freshman. Yeah, I suppose we can be charitable and let that be the story from Nebraska's game. And not the fact that they were just absolutely looked not ready to go in the season.
And they don't look like a contender again. But yeah, rule was good. Jamal rule was very, very, very good. Blum, do you have an I told you so from week one of college football? I told you so that the group of six deserves to see at the table. For any chance at all that they get that was unbelievable. I just have to know. So you see what is happening to clips in an LSU? Dill, Dill Jones is going crazy. I also got a field we're about to pick JKS off right here. Well, if we just did we ignite through a dot shoot. I told you so that the group of six deserves to see at the table for any little tiny chance that they have. Had a successful storybook upset is worth it. It is so far outweighs what a group of six national championship would be. And we had this talk you evil and I I'm mostly this week. The best times in college football are when we all come together and we root for the underdog. We root for the little guy.
We root for what what would tell what would become the whole story of their program. Brand Walker, what's here? I told you so. I told you that Oregon was a national title contender. I told you they're going to win the national title. And for about a quarter and a half today I was wondering is the brand and Walker curse real? Is this real? Are you actually going to do this every time that you say somebody's going to national title they fall apart? And second half if you just really watch that game. I mean, really watch it. They almost couldn't lose because they share dominance of their athletes. Just came to the four. Like they didn't they still didn't play that well as a team. And I don't think they were coach very well. And they had to get new offensive defensive coordinators ready. But what I saw in the second half was just when the chips are going to be down this year, they're going to out athlete teams and they're going to out talent teams. And that's what I saw today. And they also tested themselves in week one.
They tested themselves and people laughed at them for a half. Oh, you're down. You never won a big game. You're terrible. You're this you're that. Is he going for two? Yeah, he's going for two. What? Why's Lane going for two? What is I love that? I love that. What a great time. Lane, baby. So any way you do it. I love that. What did what did uh, what did Clemson do to oh, I guess the abo was talking shit about the NFL player stuff. Is that what this is? I think this is something you'll see all season though. I don't think it's Davo exclusive. He's got he's going to troll all season. You get in this isn't this isn't just Davo thing. He'll do this against ITT tech and Auburn. Oh my god. If he if he like has a double digit lead in Oxford in a couple of weeks in the fourth quarter, what do you think we'll say? I mean, it's going to be unbelievable. My balls pants down in moon. The students. I'm unbelievable.
Um, all right. We haven't I told you so award. We also have a hand up. I was wrong award. I'll go first on this. My hand up. I was wrong for a week one. I was wrong when I said Michigan and underwood could be good this year. For the last month, I've been sitting there thinking, you know what? That's a good coach and he's going to go in there and they're going to be coach for the first time in a couple of years. And that quarterback didn't have a fair shake last year when he played for one of the worst coaches in college football. They didn't have a game plan. But no, he just sucks. He just sucks. Like Bryce and Wood just sucks. And we're going to have a greater discussion about who's handing out five stars in high school football. We can have that discussion later. But I thought after offseason with the real coaching staff, he could be better. And I thought this team could be good. They're they're going to win four games. They might win five games. Then this is a bad football team. It's a terrible football team with a terrible quarterback. And I talked myself the last couple of weeks into thinking they were really good.
They could be good. They would be a playoff contender. They're not. They're not. They're not even close to a playoff contender. And when Oklahoma goes in there and beat some 37 nothing next week, we'll realize that justice will be served a little bit. Does you have a hand up? I was wrong. Oklahoma state. Yeah, you were you were big on that. Huh? Oklahoma state. That's that. We've talked extensively about them. That was yeah. Can I speak to the chat real quick? Cream Corn once as Brandon was wrong when he said Penn states on upset alert. I've been dealing with this one all day. I truly think people are stupid. Like people are really dumb. And I'm not this isn't he'll stick this into me. Lying in the bed. This is people are really dumb. I had a voicemail a couple of weeks ago. The call in said, Hey, upset alert for week one. It's going to be a martial beaten Penn state. And I was like, that's intriguing. Wow. I thought about that.
I said, that's the heck of a thought. That's what I said. And I've had Penn state fans by the dozens in my DMs and on Twitter today saying, what about the upset? What about your upset pic? What about this? What about that? First of all, you shouldn't even have a fucking football program. You'd depraved bastards. Secondly, I didn't say it. I didn't say it at all. Not didn't say it one time. Didn't believe it. Just all those interesting thoughts. And you guys are sitting there saying, you pick my team to get beat. You pick my team to get beat. Even if I did, who cares. But I didn't just didn't. Didn't pick him. The top 10 players in college football for week one. Now, I'm going to give my list first, Liam Blutman. Is that okay with you? Yeah, very much okay. And I'm going to say this right now. There's a lot of quarterbacks out there. There's a lot of quarterbacks out there that had huge numbers this week. But they did so against bad teams. They did so against teams that were outmatched.
And I don't think those numbers are that are we should celebrate them that big. So I'm not going to have every quarterback that had 300 yards and four touchdowns. Have some pride in your school. Have some pride in your team. And don't just beg me to put your quarterback on the list. All right, lookie, where's my list of the top 10 players in college football this weekend? I'll start with number two. Camario Taylor from Mississippi State Quarterback against UL Monroe tonight. Unbelievable. Over 400 yards. He was out after the first driver of the third quarter. Through a 70 yard dot on his back foot, basically, but not even on his feet. He's sitting in a wheelchair. He threw a 70 yard dot. He ran for a couple touchdowns. Or he ran for one touchdown. He did the high husband pose. The way I'm the way I'm looking at body language, I'm guessing JKS just made a play. Am I am I reading that correctly? Liam Blument. Yeah, and he's limping off the field a third and 10. Unbelievable playbacked up in zone and zone.
And it comes after we had a chance to go 28 to 10 into left. Best player in America this week was Malachi Tony three, 12 catches, 234 yards, three touchdowns last night. Darym Menta was also lost in Tony was the fact that Menta was almost perfect. Barcai threw a touchdown to Jeremiah McClelland today. I thought was the best player on Oregon's team when they needed somebody to be good. I know DeCorean Moore scored a touchdown. Evan Stewart was good. But Jeremiah McClelland when they were down, made plays to get them back into the game. Dante Moore also second half Dante Moore was great. Second half Dante Moore was fantastic. Number six Jeremiah Smith two touchdowns eight catches 150 one yards. Number seven Cam Cook 73 yard run on the first play of the game. Ended up rushing for 145 two touchdowns at West Virginia. He was leading rusher in the country last year. He's going to be big all year. Number eight Mason Hainchill quarterback for pit. I'm starting to get concerned for Clinton. Again.
I'm starting to get concerned that this might be a safety issue at this point. I got Mason Hainchill seven touchdowns four into 53 yards. Kenny Mentsie was great 300 yards four touchdowns. Number 10 I was saving for the I'm saving for the running back from western Michigan after the end of finishing off that game. So just give me whoever the best player has for LSU here. Maybe Sam Levitt even though I ain't throwing the ball that well. Liam, do you have your top 10 players of the weekend college football? Yeah Malachi Tony and Darian Mentsie what they did to Stanford is a so so so so impressive. Eric Winters 11 tackles nine of them solo two tackles for loss. He gave he sealed the game with this stop on two book conversion. Jamal Rool and Nebraska. He got mentioned already. He had three no yeah. He had three total touchdowns today. He was terrific. True freshman. Armies and navies offensive lines. Army had 57 carries for 569.
Russian Arginate touchdowns. Navy had 73 carries for 500 six. Russian yards and six touchdowns. Amari Thomas eight catches for one 33 and touchdown nasty. Moss anytime he touches the ball. He's a threat to score Mason high and chose. He said Nate Shepherd the one star from Duke who stayed loyal and true. The Duke he had 35 carries for 227 to he's the offense this year. Walker you get could not throw a complete pass. They was like, Javon Tracy. Minnesota receiver had two partner turned touchdowns of a 769 yards as well as five catches for 98 yards. I love the last spot open. Yeah, I did two Reese's. Reese's the candy partner official candy partner of partial sports. This Reese's takeover is brought to you by Guess who Reese's. They are fantastic. The Reese's is just like the Reese's peanut butter cup is the best thing in candy. It's my favorite. Love nothing more on the road trip than getting just a little pack of those two of them. Great for a flight.
You know one landing one on takeoff all that. So Reese's fantastic Reese's sponsors this show. Reese's sponsors all our shows here at Barstool Sports the official candy partner of Barstool Sports Shoutout Reese's. A lot of great players this weekend and I got phase on Brandon in the chat. He was good. He was good. Gunner stocked in 15 of 16 down there. Georgia was good. Keelan Russell was good. A lot of good. A lot of teams played bad teams. A lot of a lot of guys look really good. We're going to see next week. Who's real and who's not. Did you have the Memphis running back by the way? For God, I'm Jalen Carter for Touchdowns. I think 100, 85 yards of action. Speaking out next week. We got obviously we got Oklahoma, Michigan. And obviously we got Texas Ohio State. We got Memphis Boys' State next week, right? Yes. That. Pretty special. Pretty special. Pretty special. Really, really good. William Blutman. Who won the week?
The group of six still won the week even though those guys got a Robden Kalamazoo. The group of six can play. They can beat you. They can do a cool graphic. Tray Land talked this talk before, cheering and after a game. Lance Taylor, so winner of the week, Candle so it all with class. Legend Bay, his Touchdown for Ohio State today was absolutely filthy, rated art stuff. He's the best running back on that. Or Alster has the best name on that. Or Alster, DeCorean Mores Touchdown, the stop and the start. Oh my goodness. That was like a fast car. Name a fast car. Lamborghini. Ooh, that was like a Lambo and then a Miami master class. Clinical. So I'm going to go ahead and double down a little bit. I think LSU is in the midst of winning week one right now. Oh true. Western Michigan would have won week one and they did win week one. But unfortunately, I went back and looked and we still have a second left in the day. So we're going to have to take that away from him in corrupt fashion.
Western Michigan truly did win this day because they truly did beat Michigan. But we live in the world of reality and the reality is that LSU right now spent all season fighting. It's been all season building. Spent all season getting ready for this. You go out and get Lane Kiffin to make a splash to make a noise to make a to to make ripples and they're making a ripple right now. They're absolutely looking incredible. They're looking like a team who is ready to compete for a national title. So I think LSU won the week. Who's FaceTiming me? What? Yeah, I'm on my show. I died, but if it's you, I'm always going to pick up. What's up? No, you're not a huge in compete. It's already. What's up, man? Did you see Camario? Let's talk ball. I'm just good. I'm just good. I'm just good. I'm just good.
I'm just good. I'm just good. I'm just trying to talk 795 yards off it. Dude, it was unbelievable. Did you see where you able to watch the game? Did you see his throw in 70 yard throw? Of course. I saw the whole thing. I was the whole thing. Dude, it was unbelievable. It was on blitz. I have never been more excited. I think week one since we beat or since 2014, I had not been this excited about it. I miss the best. Since stack press cut. So cancel whatever concert you got next week. Pick me up in the PJ. Let's go to Minnesota. I don't have PJ money. It's a two-hour. Oh, okay. All right. Let's all. Let's make you do. You don't have PJ money. Okay, fine, fine, fine. No, it was great. It was fantastic. We got to run the ball a little bit better. It didn't matter. Today was awesome. Today was awesome. Did you see the Michigan thing? I was live on this. I'm sorry. I was live here.
PJ, it'll be here. The J.J. Hill is a fucking dog. I fucking knew it, bro. I've been here and Robby and hey, Dad and all the guys talk about it for a year. Yeah. The J.J. Hill is a fucking dog. And I was a freshman, but he's a freaking dog, dude. And he's going to be a stud, bro. He, dude, reminded me of like, when I was like, ripped the younger, and I saw like, cat-like Williams and the fucking biceps like I do. Yeah, yeah. You are a freaking dog. He's a, he's going to be a stud, dude. Shout out to below Mississippi. J.J. Hill. Golden Wave. I'm trying to think. Let's see. I feel good. I know it's, I know it's Monroe, but I feel like our, our, our, our, our, I feel like, come on, I had all the time in the fucking world, dude. Dude, we haven't looked that good on the lines of Scrimmage in years. I don't care for you, I'm a row. We've been playing the U.O. I'm a rose of the world for five years and we haven't looked this good. Yeah. He's a comfortable dude. Yeah, he's so good. He's so fucking good. Dude, he, the ball pops out of his hand, dude. It pops out of his hand. Yeah. I think, dude, if we are four and a, uh-huh.
I know. Well, let's, let's pump the brakes on that one. I do it. The last time we were both there, just, let's just pump the brakes a little bit. Okay. All right. Uh, all right. I gotta go do the show. All right. I'll see you. Yeah. That's hardy. Um, party. The musician, the country musician. He always calls me after Mr. Stakey. Um, anyway, uh, where are we at? Who won the week? We did that one. Liam Blemmann. Who lost the week? Rutgers, Oklahoma State, DJ Lagway. Uh, God didn't forget about you. That was one of the most ego-tistical things a man has ever said. Please just work on your craft and getting better at football. I promise. God will thank you for that. Uh, Bryce Underwood, the biggest waste of $12 million dollars ever. I love, I love Dave Portney. I love working at this company. I will tell him to this face. Please spend your money better and wiser. Do not ever do that again.
Unbelievable. I don't care if you put a dollar into it. That is too much money. Um, going to college football games, having the urge to want to go because you miss the, I want to go to UCLA game really bad tonight. I know I, I should not miss this show. So I did not go. But also it is you go to a college football game, you miss greatness. I would have kicked myself for a decade plus till I died, which will be in nine decades. If I miss that Western Michigan, ending and beating Michigan, you like, there's just this sport never stops. It never takes a second off. What a great pun. What a great pun. Also, Brian Walter College football show bus. They did you so dirty. That is not cool. Well, that's been, that's a little fake news. Oh, buses have two sides. Oh, buses have two sides. So on the other side, I'm not on the window on the other side.
It was represented like I'm, I'm, that's the only place I'm on there. Kated got done worse on the bus than I got. His picture is so fat. It's so fat. Like even for Kated, super fat. Oh, you know, we haven't mentioned, and this is good. Thank you, chat for shouting this out. That's crazy. We haven't mentioned this at all. A dark hotel, Hodor shuts us out. Shout out to the Ohio State Seniors, who, who've given so much to the program. Shout out to the Ohio State Seniors, who've given everything through one game. Just shout out, you guys. You guys had a hell of a senior year, and we honor them today before the season. Why? Because Ryan Day didn't want to have distractions when he beats this Michigan team by fucking 90 in a couple of months. Ridiculous. Fucking ridiculous. Who lost the week? Deicency. Justice. America.
All great things. All sullied tonight. All in darker times because of corrupt officials. All in darker times because of corrupt people. All in darker times because the Michigan death star has risen again. And it's just ridiculous. It's terrible. It's awful. And lastly, last category. What are we doing? Blummon. What are we doing? What are we doing when the lifeblood of the sport is anything going to happen than everybody has a chance and Western Michigan goes on the road and does it. They do it. They did it. They beat Michigan. They went across the state to the halves in their state. They went across the state to the team that it has millions and millions and millions of dollars. They got on the bus. Like you said, the bus ride. They got on the bus and went over there. And they beat them. And what happened?
Officials took it away. The big 10 took it away. Justice was not served tonight. It was terrible. It was awful. What are we doing? How can that happen? How can six officials? How can an official go under the hood and find a phantom second? How can he cheat like that? How can he do that? What are we doing that that was allowed to happen? What are we doing that's allowed to stand? What are we doing that we take that away from Western Michigan? One of the great moments and calls for ball history, gone. What are we doing? Bluffin, what's yours? There's no point to give another one. It's just that. There's no point to go on. So that is week one now. What happens tomorrow night when Ole Miss and Louisville have a classic. Notre Dame Wisconsin have a classic. Maybe we go live. I unfortunately believe, despite Labor Day, there will be a web this Monday.
Yeah, I'll have to go face Dave Wartonoy. But, oh my gosh, if we have to go live tomorrow, we have to go live. Otherwise, this is the first, this is week one of what, 15 or whatever, however many weeks we're going to do this. It's been incredible. Thank you for watching. Thank you for being here. Look, we got anything. Yeah, your ultimate winner of the weekend brought to you by Reese's. My ultimate winner of the weekend brought to you by Reese's. I'm going to give it to Lane Kiffin. Lane Kiffin kind of pulled the wool over all of us. Lane Kiffin acted like the battle was in courts. Meanwhile, he was getting ready to stuff, Clemson and a locker. Lane Kiffin, I think, will dominate this sport in 2026. And that doesn't mean from a winning every game, or national title perspective. But he's going to have a hand and a say in every single week. We're going to talk about him every single week. We're going to talk about LSU every single week. I believe tonight is an absolute, absolute,
absolute win for the LSU Tigers who are back on the big stage or back in big time college football. And Lane Kiffin is back and better than ever and louder than ever. He's going for two up 44 to three. So that's the show. We'll get better next week or get worse. We'll see. Until then, this has been the Brandon Walker College football show. Do you want to tell us about Reese's one last time? I just told you. Reese's, this Reese's takeover was amazing. Reese's is the official candy partner of Barcel Sports. Reese's has been fantastic. Nothing goes better with college football and Reese's. I'm going to go have some Reese's right now. Try to wind down after a crazy night of football. That is the Brandon Walker College football show.
