Middle school is a different world than the one we grew up in.

Bringing in a child psychologist and a psychiatrist who's raising two black girls of his own to talk about what's really going on with our kids right now. So it's literally physiological and neurological and psychological chaos happening all this end up. We got into group chats and gaming, friendships and bullying and how to tell the difference between healthy monitoring and the kind of surveillance that erodes trust. There's belonging that you could think of belonging as I can be myself and I can still be accepted. And then they're fitting in. Fitting in says I have to change who I am in order to avoid rejection. So when Thropic says it's identified a fourth cybersecurity incident involving an early version of its Claude AI model, this one happened in January and Thropic had disclosed in July. So if it's Claude AI models had hacked into the systems of three companies during cybersecurity testing, AI companies are under scrutiny over AI breakout events, including cases where

9:20these AI agents have inadvertently been unleashed onto the open internet and just started hacking other companies. Wow. Okay, there are a lot of popcorn chicken fans out there and now they have a new place to get it. Yeah, and he penned express fans as well. So they're coming together to create new popcorn chicken. It's launched a new menu item calling it a limited time first ever walk and eat snacking item. Ty one ease popcorn chicken. Now here's the catch right now. It's only available in seven markets in the Midwest. It's in Chicago at 10 different stores. So you got to drive a little bit to get this before it actually launches at other places if it does well. It features dark meat chicken coated in a light extra crispy breading the company says with a chili crisp a oly dip and the express. Sounds pretty good. The future is this morning. So everything just really changed. Dow futures are up by just three points, but now the S&P which was up is now down and

11:25who has an absolutely adorable little puppy along with him is Michael Williams. How are you man? I'm doing well. I'm doing good. I got a shirt like that. It's sweet. Yeah. Yeah. That fits real nice. You guys got great. You know, even though it's just letters. It's a it's a slick logo. It's a good logo. Yeah. It's a good look. All right. Little red after a puppy. This little pity mix, right? That's right. Just 20 pounds, not going to last long at the shelter. Thank God. But a beautiful mix, pit breed mix that we got in just last week with three other siblings. No mom. No mom from a breeders and the importance of space and neuter your animals to make sure you're not ending up with a bunch of dogs at your house that you can't take care of. You know, look, you guys don't do it since an animal care doesn't do it. You're not putting down dogs or cats for space. Never. All right. I mean, look, you see hoarding cases, you see all this. If you don't get them spayed or neutered, I mean, look, this is 101 stuff.

12:31There are many shelters across the country. The SPCA since an any not one of them, euthanizing just because of space, perfectly healthy dogs. Well, you're going to continue to have more and more of those dogs, literally tens of millions of them that are put down for no reason whatsoever other than space because we're not doing a better job or a lot of us out there are doing a good enough job at spaying or neutering once we get a family pet. Right. And a lot of these small county shelters just don't have the space, don't have the resources. So that's where we get a lot of our animals from, but this low red and your siblings came from an individual, but a lot of our dogs, you know, that's that's four kennel spaces that we can't take dogs from those small kill shelters until we get these guys adopted. So it's important to span neuter keep dogs like a little red out of the shelters. Give us room for some of those that we're taking in from some of those small county shelters that maybe have 10 or 12 kennels total. Well, you guys take them in from not only small county shelters.

13:34I mean, you guys have taken them in from literally all over the world. Yeah. I mean, everywhere from South Korean meat markets to disaster areas that are trying to empty their shelters before they know they're going to get an influx, whether it's from a flood or hurricane or tornadoes or something along those lines. So yeah, the more space that we have that we're not taking in for from a breeder who couldn't sell them, the more space we have, the more animals we can take in from those. And you know, look, you're in the shelter. You're walking through there on a daily basis, even as director of community outreach. And you know, one thing you find and I always employ people about a couple of things. And I talk about all the time about pit bulls. I mean, there are bad ones out there. There are bad breeds of other kind if they're raised by bad people to do bad things. By and large, these are the sweetest, most adorable, affectionate, loving, fun, breed that you can get. I had never been around them until our daughter brought one back from a shelter where she worked while going to college down in Fort Worth, Texas.

14:35And I've just completely fallen in love with them because they are a lot of fun. They have the best smiles to get those wide heads. They've got the best smiles. They're loving dogs. She doesn't look like what a typical that face. Maybe that'll come later. She's only what four months, only four months old, 20 pounds now, probably going to double inside. Yeah, Paul's aren't very big. But yeah, she's definitely got some other things makes it. And that's what a lot of them are. There are a lot of pit boxers. Yeah, mixes in the shelters and they're overcrowding a lot of the shelters. So we're doing all we can to find them homes because they're great dogs, like you said. They're great dogs. And oftentimes the other thing I was going to get to was, you know, when they're in that shelter and look, I mean, it can be as your place is. I've been through it a thousand times. It could be clean. It's safe. It's air conditioned. It's heat in the winter. All those things. But the bottom line is there in a kettle for 22, 23 hours a day. Their personalities tend to shrink a little bit when they're in there. And then when you get them out of there, you can't believe it's the same dog that you saw

15:39as you were walking through the kennel. Right. And I think that emphasizes the importance of our foster program too that we've got. Yeah. You know, no dog does better in the shelter than they do in a home. And we can learn so much about these animals. And we don't know a lot about low. Sure. We've had her a week. You know, if they're going to give us a little bit of information when they surrender, when we get them from another shelter, they can tell us a little bit about them. But we're going to find out are they good with kids? Are they good with cats? Are they good in the house? Are they good on a leash? Yep. How do they do in the apartment? How they doing a house? I think getting them into those fosters and we have we have long term foster programs where you can take them for a week or two weeks up to just down to just a day foster pass. So you can come in and do one of our paul passes. We can take them out for an hour, take them to the park, take them on a on a joy ride in the park. Go get them a pup cup. Yep. Let's socialize these dogs. The more we can get them around humans and other people and other animals, the more we can learn about them and the quicker we can find them, the right home. Absolutely. You guys have a crazy busy week coming up. Let's look ahead to some of the things next week leading up to maybe I shouldn't say

16:43it's a business, but I mean, certainly for SPCA since and now you let's start with the biggest, okay? And that is one week from today, a brand new shelter and over the ride. A brand new shelter and over. I mean, you know, we started 153 years ago downtown. We are heading back downtown over the Ryan 1312 Main Street. It's going to be a boutique adoption. So it's really kind of that how much is that doggy in the window will have five to six dogs, 10 to 12 cats every day of the week, noon to six, just like a regular operating hours up in Sharonville. But yeah, this is a really big deal for us. We're going where the people play and live and trying to expand our reach into a different audience. And you know, you have so many people, young people down there who maybe, you know, they're living down there. It's their first job out of school, right? Or they just moved down whatever. They're not quite sure yet if they're ready to take on with their work schedule, you know, can they adopt? But you just said it a minute ago, this would make it easier for them to do things like a day trip with a dog or a cat or a foster for maybe a weekend just to test it out, right?

17:49It makes it easier or come down and volunteer. Yeah. That's the way man. Yeah. We're going to have a lot of volunteer opportunities down there, everything from helping us out with customer service to walking the dogs a couple of different times a day to make sure they're not in those kennels down there for 23 hours a day. We want to make sure they're going out in the morning and the afternoons and they're ready to be seen and socialized and worn out a little bit too. Amen. Amen. Okay. Let's talk about a couple of other events yet coming up next week. So we've got this coming Sunday. I guess that's the 13th. We're going to be done as a Ziegler pool, which is literally 50 free from our new adoption location over the Rhine for their dog days of summer. That is we're from five to seven. They let they sell tickets and let all the dogs take over the pool. Yeah. So we'll be down there for that. We've got bark in the park, the final bark in the park on Wednesday at Grid American Ball Park. That's always a lot of fun. We'll have four dogs available for adoption down there as well over the Rhine on Thursday morning and that kicks off October fest weekend, which you'll find us at all weekend leading up to Sunday's Weenerdog races, which we're the sponsor of.

18:51Where do the Weenerdogs come from? Because you got to get a number of them to have a race. They've got like 75 or 100 Weenerdogs. All local folks with their their dog summer, some come from breeders, some come from shelters. So it's a really, really nice mix and we're excited for the opportunity to sponsor that. I mean, 50th anniversary, 250th celebration of the United States of America. It was fantastic. All right. Let's talk about what's going on now this weekend. Let's start if you have the kids. There's lots going on for the kids. Yeah. Yeah. So tonight, actually, this is so cute. They're going glow in the dark school carnival at the sign museum, which I think is one of our amazing places in the city. That's tonight, 48th. They're having like a puppet show, neon demonstrations, live music, ice cream, and circus fun. So do that and tuck the kids in and they can be ready for the mall. There you go. There you go. The Lebanon Train Fest. This is cute. They're having steam train rides, free kids activities, live music, vendors, food, and they're celebrating 40 years of the railroad history in Lebanon. This is all day Saturday and Sunday.

31:23And there are a few October fest kicking off. There's the Newport October fest with log sign, brought tossing, and more. All we get is also the one in Kevin Tenon, Mainstrelth with live music competitions and more. And Springborough has theirs, the kids' own, and dancing, and food and lots of beer, of course. Yeah. I mean, greater Cincinnati. It's not just Cincinnati. I mean, it's both sides of the river across a border in Indiana. Everybody getting in on the October fest. Well, I love it. I mean, we're the German town, right? That's exactly right. They say now Brian Comes was talking about this harvest home fare. He said this thing is gone out with nearly 200 years. It's got a huge history. It's amazing. And it's music rides, games. There's a parade. There's a six, like tonight, a six, I kick it off. It's Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and it's in Chevye. Yes, and it has been going on forever. And people love it.

32:23It is great. Okay. Let's talk about now if you're going to go out with your buddies. Could be a bunch of guys, a bunch of girls, combination of the two. You just want to get out a little bit. There's some pretty good choices here. There's a lot happening. There's a bottom line this weekend. All right. Let's walk through if you're going out with some of the single folks. Okay. So there's Bazingo, which is a fundraiser for autism. And it's a night with local celebrities, a crazy game of bingo, like music prizes and surprises. This is at Lori's Roadhouse up north there, Saturday night. And this is a ticket at a event, but I have seen videos, and I have not been able to make it there, but it looks super fun. I was getting my seat. You said local celebrities have figured you would be there. I did talk to her, but I couldn't make it. I have a wedding Saturday. Okay. Yes. Okay. A piano prodigy is in town. Jonathan Memora, he will be at Memorial Hall Sunday at three. So if you're not into football, this is your gig. He's performed all over the world since the age of 13.

33:25And they have a great ticket started, like $25. Students can go for 10. And that looks really cool. He looks like a good kid. That does look really cool. Yeah, but you're right. It's got to be somebody who, you know, sports and there are a lot of people out there. Sports isn't their thing, or maybe football is not their thing. And so that gives you an option. Absolutely. This is great. This is a tribute to Dolly Pardon. And this is an unwind, the little wine spot in Hyde Park, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. They're showcasing Dolly's wines. And they're doing a pink flight, wine flight. And 20% of all the sales get her imagination library. Wow. And the owner, Derek, is known to be one of Dolly Pardon's number one fans. He's met her many times. He has pictures with her. He loves Dolly Pardon. So when I heard that news, he was the first person I texted. So. Now, let me ask you this place unwind in Hyde Park. Did that used to be something else? I don't think it was. Okay. I'm Michigan Avenue. It's tucked next to the party's popcorn or the popcorn place. It's kind of, but it is adorable. It's indoor and outdoor.

34:26It is a cute little spot. They were just part of my 10 year giveaway the other day. It's a great spot. Yeah, it has a big patio out in the front of it. Am I picking it in the right place? Yeah. Very, very cool spot. It is. I agree. There's also fitness for Hope going on. This is Friday through Sunday and you can get your spot on. It's work studios all over the city and beyond, really anywhere. She has studios all over and it brings awareness for suicide prevention. This is the friend of mine, Kelly, her brother had passed away from suicide and she just wants to bring inspiration and hope to people. So check out your list at your gym and make sure it's kind of for a class to support that. The highest is starting Saturday. This is a show at the playhouse. All the plays are back and I love it. This show is inspired by Ocean 11 and now you see me that kind of thing. High Tech mystery comes to stage. This is going on Ruby 11. I'm also going to slide in there. Last night I saw a corner of the sky at the Ensemble Theater.

35:27It is eight people on the stage. Amazing. It is music that is in every show that you would know. It all even shortses music from wicked to tiffin all over and he was there last night. It was audience and it was the premiere. It was cool. You're kidding me. No, I was shocked. I was like, wait, no. No, it's from the wow. Wow. That is surprising indeed. Yeah. And the voices are fantastic. Okay, then we have Heart of Country Music Fest. This is a great lineup and this is going on the Kenton County Fairground Friday and Saturday. The Adoptipow. I don't know if you talked about this. It's two day event. Yes. To find the new cats and dogs at like six locations around Cincinnati. We also know a higher River Slim. This is Rescheduled. This is Sunday the Bill Keating, Jr. Ohio River Slim. Proceeds go to inner city kids connecting them to nature. Well, I mean, the weather is going to be nice for that. It's supposed to be beautiful on Sunday.

36:28And so that's a morning time thing I would imagine. Yes. Okay. Okay. All right. I'm serpentine law. Okay. Now we're talking date night. Date night. Date night. Here we are. Date day. Whatever you want to do. Yeah, whatever. Hopefully the weather clears up because this is the final rocking of the road lane tonight wrapping up the season six to nine thirty and that is the hot magnolia. They're a great band. So that's fun. Gladys Knight is coming. Oh, I know. Gladys Knight. Right. I know. I think I'm going to add this to my things to do that I'm going to do. It's at the task Friday at seven and the word on the street. This is probably your last for off of going around on tour. So if you can go to that, put that on your list. There's the art and wine festival at Vincolette. This is on the west side. Their performances, vendors, bites and tips Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Hank Williams is in town. He'll be at River Bend Saturday at six thirty. There's wine over water. This is food beer and of course a lot of wine supporting the Brighton Center Saturday on the Purple People Bridge.

37:29Five thirty to nine. Yeah. I love it. Well, that's very cool. Okay. All right. Good. And yeah. And of course the orange out is Sunday kicking off the season cannot wait. Sundays in orange out. An orange out for the bangles game. Is it really? I did not. So they're wearing their orange uniforms to begin the season. I guess that's a deal for the orange out, right? I don't know if they're wearing them or it's just all of us in the stands. I don't know what's going on. Because the table they buck and ears are orange. Yes, you always get confusing. But I think we'll dominate that situation. I'm with you on that. Are you going to the game? Yeah. Yes, I'm one of the game. Of course you're going to the game. I mean, that's a stupid question. Stupid question. And who you got on the podcast? Who's been recently and who's coming up? Okay. So I just went out yesterday. Everything you need to know about October fast. And there are a lot of them floating around. They're super good. And soon I'm going to have somebody coming on talking about nature and wellness

38:31with the Cincinnati Parks and UC. There's a lot of people. Some restaurant people coming on. Always something fun. Yes. I also have four spots left on my lobster bake dinner, which is September 23rd. We opened up five spots two of a month. So I think there's three spots left. That's going to be really fun. And their new lodge float around, eat and drink and meet new people and have fun. That is on a Wednesday night. And that is right there on Newtown Road for those who don't know. If you're not in that part of town, it's a small little place. They sell the best I think, the best seafood in the whole area. And now they've opened a little area where you can actually dine there. Normally it's just a place you go pick stuff up and get out the door. A market kind of thing. But now they've got a place where you can eat. And that's where you're going to be on the 20th or 30 Wednesday night of September. Yes. Okay. That will be great.
