Sharron Erickson spent nearly four decades serving her Nebraska community as a county treasurer's office clerk before enjoying a quiet retirement in the tiny village of Colon. Known for her kindness and daily routines, Sharron lived alone but had become increasingly concerned about her safety. In June 2003, those fears became reality when she was brutally murdered in what initially appeared to be either a suicide or a botched burglary.
