Welcome back to what's the first pick.
We're going team by team to build a perfect seven round mock draft and today we're breaking
down the Tennessee Times, their biggest needs best fits and sleeper picks that could make
their draft.
I'm Ryan Wilson.
That's two times through a bowl of champ, Bryant McFadden and B-Mac before we get going
here, Titans fans.
Let us know in the comments what do you think the team should do with that number four
overall pick?
We're going defense.
Are we going to run it back even?
Let us know.
All right, B-Mac, you're the GM.
I'm the assistant GM.
So I'm just making all your wishes come true here.
They got the number four overall pick.
New head coach, Robert Salah, what do you got?
Real quick, real small disclaimer, Titan fans, forgive my apparel.
I come in peace.
I am coming to better your team.
I understand I have some stealer ish on right now.
It was because, you know, I had to take care of some stealer business before taking care
of your business.
But I'm all Tennessee Titans right now.
Less rock and roll, Ryan.
I just had to throw that small disclaimer out.
Yeah, because they don't miss a beat.
So I'm glad you said that.
You just fixed the stealers.
Now you're going to fix the Titans.
Robert Salah is a defensive guy and he worked with our guy, Ryan Carthon and San Francisco.
And Ryan thinks someone like Sonny Stiles could make sense here, given what they had in
Fred Taylor when Robert Salah and Ryan were in San Francisco together.
But I'll defer to you because Jeremiah Love is staring us right in the face.
Arville Reese is gone.
Roomba and Junior is gone.
Obviously, Fernando Mendoza is gone.
They don't need a quarterback.
But we got Jeremiah Love, Sonny Stiles, David Bailey.
You could even go Francis Malone over here.
I know they've drafted some tackles in recent years, but you tell me what you think?
My personal favorite is Jeremiah Love.
It's not a run-back.
He's an offensive weapon.
And when I look at Jeremiah Love, I see Jermir Gibbs.
And just think about the impact that Jermir Gibbs has on the Detroit lines, on the offense
in totality.
Not just the running game, but the passing game.
Just think about how improved Jermir golf is when he is getting the football to Jermir
Gibbs, especially in passing opportunities.
So if you want to have your quarterback year two and year two continue to develop and
progress, give him one of the most potent weapons, offensive weapons that's in this draft.
And that is Jermir Love.
So for me, that's the route to go help your quarterback with giving him high-level caliber,
talented players that will surround him and make his job easier.
You're not going to get any pushback from me.
They have Tony Palad and Tajini Spears, of course, but after that, it's pretty wide open.
Let me also note, they have nine total draft picks.
And in case you're wondering about free agency, they got Wondale Robinson on offense on
defense.
They got a bunch of DBs in court outflawed, Alonso Taylor, Josh Williams.
Also added John Franklin Myers to the defensive line, traded to Vandria, so it went away from
the team.
So they've been doing some work here.
All right.
Next up, I'm just going to have those nine total picks.
We are now at pick 35, essentially, back into the first round or here.
All right.
So two things.
Two positions.
Ryan.
Okay.
Definitely an off-ball linebacker needs to be added or offensive guard.
They need to improve in that area, which would help Cam Ward and Jeremiah Love.
So what notable names do you see at those two positions?
So they drafted Peter Skronski a few years ago.
He's a good young player.
They moved inside the guard for sure.
They brought in Fosin, I think, from Cincinnati, but he was injured last year and they got him
slated to be the opposing starting guard opposite of Peter.
And he didn't play it at all last year if not mistaken.
And Manuel Pregnant is sticking out to me.
He's going to be a day two guy and a probably early day two guy.
Let me see if our guy Chase Bessontis is there as well, striker.
If you...
And what is Jacob?
Is Jacob a regress still available?
Chase Bessontis is still there at Texas A&M.
He's going to be a day one starter and your guy, Jay Rodd, is sitting there as well.
So...
They have picked 66.
Jacob Rodriguez is not going to be there, pick 66.
He won't.
So...
Let's go Jacob here.
He's a plug-and-play player, improves that off-ball area.
Cedric Gray had a pretty good year last year, but outside of that, you have some concerns.
Let's go Jacob here and let's try to get our guard as 66, right?
Yep.
And there should be a guard there.
These two nates might not be there, but there...
There'll be some good players.
Okay.
I'm going to stop you.
What you got?
Because...
Striker went to...
Keel Rutledge is there.
Keel Rutledge should probably be the pick.
But...
My guy, Trayden Stukes, out of the University of Arizona, the Nickelback, six feet, 435.
Who is...
He is Brian Branch.
He is there.
Now, they signed all those D.B.s.
They have Alonso Taylor.
So Alonso can do some of those things, so...
I mean, that's not...
I mean, that's Michael Cordell.
He lied as an outside guy.
Yeah.
And they have Marcus Harris listed as a Nickelback, but I think Alonso might end up playing
some of those roles as well.
So let's go Keel Rutledge, but I wanted to give Trayden Stukes his flowers, because he is...
Ooh, boy.
He had a great season.
So how are you with Keel Rutledge here?
I'm okay with that.
I'm okay with that.
Yes.
No, that's a good pick.
I'm just gonna...
You have a chance to play early on.
All right.
We're in round four here.
Pick 101.
So we have running back.
We have linebacker.
And we have guard all off the boards.
So we're doing some good things here.
We're...
Let's look at edge rush real quick.
Producer Striker.
They do have Jermaine Johnson.
They do have Ola Dayjo.
And...
We can also look at...
Let's look at interior defensive line.
Just for fun.
Yeah.
Interior and edge.
We got...
They got JFM also, John Franklin.
That's right.
Myers.
We can't forget about him.
So this...
Chris McClellan is a good player.
This might be around the range.
He comes out at Missouri.
But let's go to the best overall, guys.
Best overall.
All right.
Here we go.
Best overall, guys.
We don't need a quarterback.
So...
Oh, boy.
So we do need...
You know, we can also go center here.
Let's see what the centers are.
Because we have Keel and Roller.
Keel and Roller.
Roller might have that versatility.
But just to double check.
You know what we're going to do.
We're going to wait on Pat Cougan, who I love.
We'll wait one more round.
The center out of Indiana.
But he could be a guy.
And BMAC, every single person from...
Kaelin Black to Elijah Serrat.
To Mendoza.
Said the Pat Cougan was the best locker room guy.
Team leader that they'd ever been around.
And he's a good player.
So let's put a pit in Pat Cougan
and do best overall against Striker.
And then let's make us a pick here.
I'm the clock's running out of him over.
Mess around.
All right.
What are we doing here?
BMAC.
Oh, boy.
All right.
Who was best available in any interior guys?
DeLine men?
So Dante Corleone is there.
I think it's a little rich for him.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I would lean towards
Jason Barrham or LT Overton in terms of the edge rushers.
And probably more Jason.
Because Jason can play.
He played off ball.
And then they needed a hair on fire edge rushers.
So they're just moving outside of Michigan.
And he just got after it.
So I think he gives you a little bit more juice.
On the outside to go.
What was the site?
What did he measure in it?
He was pretty tall.
Let me double check real quick.
He was tall and I thought I shouldn't say pretty tall.
Yeah.
What do you got there?
Striker.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So he's got some juice, man.
And he has the versatility of playing off ball or outside.
Yeah.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Let's go.
All right.
Jason Barrham.
Come on down.
And then let's see if Pat Cougan's still there.
The center.
And we'll get a two for one on the interior.
What do you think I'm taking Pat Cougan the center at Indiana?
All right.
Now we got our guard.
With a little.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's really good.
Austin.
I know they brought the sign in Austin.
Shall I match.
Shall I man.
Yeah.
From.
From Giants.
He was injured a year ago.
Nothing mistaken.
All right.
Right.
So now.
Why receiver.
Need to ask a different.
I received a position.
Do you need some wide receivers of her messing around trying to fix the interior.
I love Josh Cameron.
But he's just the latest in the line of.
Sort of possession.
Not possession receiver.
They said I don't know.
Right.
Like FRC.
Or.
Like Illinois or.
Then a guy who's gonna win down the field.
Caleb Douglas is.
Uh, one of the text they never see,
just have a couple guys.
I'm sure you make sure.
Caleb Douglas is.
The guy.
Thinking about because I know they have verbs as well.
Capel Douglas.
Yeah.
He is a longer one.
He's 6 2 0 6.
And he ran.
Hold on to your half for this one.
4 3 9.
So he's got a little juice down the field.
He might be gone, because this is right around, I bet he went around or two before that
feels.
Yeah, he's gone.
He's gone.
So I'll give him a scouting report in Caleb Douglas and we can consider some other guys
here.
But just because he's a big, bigger body, natural contested catch in high point machine,
wins off the line of scrimmage, just man coverage.
He's a run blocker.
Now he had seven drops last year and he's not a natural hands catcher when he has to leave
his feet.
He's diving for a ball.
And he's had to get better as a route runner.
My comfort him was MBS.
Now, if you're looking for some juice as a slot receiver, Aaron Anders is going to be
your guy at LSU, but he's under size.
So we're talking 5.8.
Yeah.
And we know that one day was going to be the slot guy.
And they already had that one deal exactly.
And we got to go come here, DK and LK, you mine over last year.
So let's go, let's go Texas Tech.
So Caleb Douglas.
Yep.
All right.
Got our wide receiver.
Big body.
Calvin really redid his deals.
So we'll see how much longer he is there.
All right.
Next up.
So make him progress, make him progress.
What runner we in now?
This is pick 184 got three picks left.
All right.
I know we got a potential versatile edge guy.
Let's look at safety.
Let's look at DB.
Let's look at DB's.
They have a Monty Hooker and Kevin Winston Jr. out of producer striker's Penn State.
I'm Kevin Wilson coming out of Penn State for years ago.
Yeah.
He was an injured.
So three names to pop out of me if we're looking for versatile defensive center fielders
who can play close to the line of scrimmage.
Bishop Fitzgerald I think is actually better than Kamari Ramsey at USC.
I have a rank tire.
We'll see.
DJ Payne Kansas State had a really good senior bowl really good season Lorenzo style junior.
Easy other styles who happens to be faster than his younger brother.
He ran a 4-2-8.
Now he plays safety and he is a good player and he can line him up just about anywhere because
of his athleticism.
He's incredibly smart, great teammate.
So those three say got to me.
If we were looking for versatile defensive backs, primarily free safety, strong safety.
Yes.
Let's see if you've got any more edge or defensive tackles.
Yeah.
Let's do edge and DT.
Yeah.
Because we have yet to get a DT for sure.
So Zayn Durant sticks out to me.
And you know, three names, Zayn Durant, my guy Scaligal Howard, who's a great story and
he's as juiced up as you're going to find he's six feet to 85.
So he's a different body type.
And then Nick Baird at South Carolina, we have not talked a lot about him.
But if you, he is what B-Matt calls, he's got a hot tape.
Let's go Nick.
I love his, he got to be what, to be what, three 20-ish, he has some really, really good
feet.
I couldn't agree more.
Nonsight motor, hustle pressures, he uses power and leverage to win versus off line.
And Jeffery Simmons.
Let's go.
Yeah, let's go.
I love that.
Yeah.
All right.
Got two more picks.
Go here.
One more six rounder than seventh rounder.
All right.
What did you say?
Edge.
What?
I see.
All right.
So, do you want to roll the dice on a patch, you'll pay it and find, I mean, can the coaching staff unlock what he brings?
This is six round.
This might be ideal spot for him, right?
Because he's the guy that gets up the bus first.
But he's also, you know, he, he does not play up to what he looks like.
Maybe some of that's injury related that I don't know about.
But I'm fine rolling the dice on him here because no one looks more of the part of the Patrick Payton.
He just hasn't put it together yet.
Yeah, let's go.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Let's shoot Patrick Payton.
Six five to 60, 33 to half inch arms.
At some point.
You better ring guys.
It's got to click.
All right.
We're doing best available here.
So you know what?
You know what we're going to do?
Be Mac.
What we got?
So they signed Daniel Ballinger from the Giants of pre-agency.
They do have Kyle Granson as well.
Kyle Granson.
Gunnar Helm is their second year player out of Texas, who's a really good player.
But your guy asked her, Delpa, Sarah's in the face.
Because they lost Chigga Conquo.
Mm-hmm.
They had an e-tide in help.
And Delpa is still there?
Delpa, Sarah's in the face.
Let's go.
So that's it.
That's a wrap.
Yeah, that's a wrap.
That's a wrap.
So even though you got on Steelers gear, I think you did your best to make this team a lot better.
I think we did a good job.
Titans fans, let us know how you feel about the number four.
We're all pick it because I know there's going to be some conversation about whether
Jeremiah loves that too high for him.
I don't think so.
And if you're a Titan fan, I understand we passed on sunny styles.
But we still got the baddest two off-ball linebacker in the draft in Jacob Rodriguez, right?
And I'll tell you this and talking to some folks around the league.
Two or three years from now.
Jacob Rodriguez could be better than sunny styles.
R.B.L.
Reese.
Any other defensive player that might get drafted ahead of him.
He's just not in thing is he's a great athlete.
He just doesn't run a four or three.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, but one and four six isn't slow for for off-ball linebacker, but to your point, just not four three.
But he plays fast enough.
That's right.
So we got him as opposed to the two offensive guards that were available.
Got Keeling Rutledge instead in round three.
Got Pat Cougan in round five.
So now you have the interior offensive line settled to protect your young quarterback.
You got him a running back in Jeremiah love.
And then we just filled out the roster with best play best available players after that.
It is hard to argue with that.
Even though B-Mac,
PFF gave us on the mock draft machine a C-plus.
Yeah, PFF they haven't been rocking with us, but what?
That's okay.
The games.
That's it.
So yeah, give us a great Titan space.
Not the PFF grade.
Whatever grade you think we deserved on this.
Let us know what you would have done differently if anything.
In the meantime, that is it for this edition of the perfect fix.
