Welcome to Bring a Fantasy football show. My name is Dana Hythenson and I'm joined in person still, Los Angeles by Danny Kelly and Crackle Rollback. We're still here baby. Okay. We're going to go over the boring players who will win you your league because you know what? Sexy players are out. Boring players are in. We're half kidding but we're actually, there probably is the skeleton key is players that are not trending on social media. Yes. There's a lot of sleepers. Everybody's aware of the sleepers now. We believe that the new edge is understanding which boring veterans you should take. It's a little bit of a bit but we're also, I actually think we're right. So the other thing to know, Netflix today, live on Netflix, the Ring of Fantasy football league. If you're listening on Friday the 28th at 11 a.m. Pacific today, we are doing our live
draft with Bill and the gang on Netflix Ring of Fantasy football. One PM Eastern. So again, it's the three of us. It's Bill Simmons. Two PM Eastern. Yeah. Two PM Eastern. You know what? That's to me up. It's three hours but two and three are next to each other. You don't have to worry about it. It's at two PM Eastern. Don't, you know what? Now you're looking at it. Don't worry about it man. Anyway, go to Netflix and just Ring of Fantasy football show. It'll be right there and you hit live and you're going to watch us and here's the key. It's not interesting watching us draft. Everyone's going to scream at us. Everyone's mad at us. We put out the draft order. None of the people in the league can't do anything. People didn't like the draft order video. A third of the match is received. Literally a third of the league is threatened to quit. That is not an exaggeration. And yeah, no, everyone's mad at us. Everyone hates everything we do. There's a random selection but people were not happy about it. Everyone except Chris Ryan who loves crack. Chris Ryan got to find it. I did it for my guy. I did it for my guy. I did it for my guy. So we're going to go into the boring players though when you're your league. But first we're going to take a quick break. This episode is presented by Verizon.

All right, coming back in. Players we find are boring. Think are boring, whatever. Craig, when we started talking about this, the first person you said was James Cook running back for the bills. Yeah, so if we need to pick a guy from the first round who I think is boring, complimentary, I think Jonathan Taylor is also boring but I'm not that into Jonathan Taylor in the first round. I think James Cook is the most boring player in the first round. Yeah. And I think one of the best values late in the first round. He's going like ninth, tenth overall, so right at the end of the first round.
I just, he's quietly rock solid. I don't think anybody really thinks about him. He led the league in rushing last year. He had 14 touchdowns last year, the year before he had 18. I think the thinking was always like, well, with Josh Allen, they're, they're, it's impossible for him to be running back to really breakthrough. That's the case. 300 carries last year. He was eighth and goal to go rushing attempts. So still when they're inside the red zone, when they're close to the end zone, he gets the ball. But the reason why I like James Cook more than, I guess I would last year is that one, we saw him reach a new level of touches that we didn't think he could do. Like the year before that, he only had 200 touches, but he'd turn them into 18 touchdowns. And it was like, he's averaging over 20 touches per game. Totally. He had 200 carries in 2024, but because he had 18 touchdowns, that's why he did so well, everybody was like, well, that's not going to happen again. And then they come back last year, 2025, he has like 300 rushes and 30 touches, 30 catches. And so I think he's now like in the elite tier of volume. And their new offensive coordinator, Pete Carmichael, who was basically Sean Payton's quarterback's coach for the last 15 years, has been talking a lot about how they want to
get James Cook involved more in the passing game, which is kind of like what James Cook's one of his better skillsets was coming out of college. Right. That was what he was known for coming out was basically like he's, he's going to the combine and participating in why receiver drills. He's really good receiver out of the backfield. He's undersized. And that was kind of his calling card is I can do really well in the passing game. I think it's fascinating. I do think the reason he doesn't get more hype is because he didn't catch, you know, 60 plus passes or whatever. He wasn't in that elite tier where you're basically having two players in one roster spot on your team. But I think it's fascinating that he's not like sexier as a fantasy pick because he's so good. When you watch him, he just slalms through the defense. Yeah. They always get a good job of getting him in space. It seems like he has all just as many big plays as any of these other sort of like high end really, you know, more famous, I guess, fantasy picks. But it is kind of surprising to me that people aren't more excited about him for whatever reason. I just think he is upside. I think if they throw to him more and utilize something that we know he's good at, I think a lot of times with running backs, you always hear about like the Ravens are thinking about
trying, you know, trying to pass to Derek Henry more this year. And you're like, that's not what Derek Henry's good at. The fact that they're saying that about James Cook and we know that James Cook can do that makes me more optimistic. And I feel like great floor in legitimate ceiling. I think at the end of the first round. And not a lot of competition really. No. Yeah. It's like Ray Davis. They have like Taj Johnson. Couple of guys. Yeah. I think what this translates to is that I think we all agree the top four players that Jermior Gibbs and the Lions, B. John Robinson and the Falcons, Jamar Chase and the Bengals, Pukiniko and the Rams. And then at five, Christian McCaffrey, some people are excited to get him there, some people grown. But I think the answer is you could take James Cook as high as six. And like some people, he might fall out of the first round at some leagues. But I actually think I prefer James Cook to the Jonathan Taylor on the Colts because I think the issues that James Cook are, well, the bills had a really easy schedule last year, like one of the easier schedules. And maybe they don't win it. I think the bills were favorite in every game and in the season. And maybe the schedule's not as easy this year for Buffalo. But you can say that about so many players. Jackson's fifth in jay, but loss is offensive coordinator. Jonathan Taylor and the Colts. What if they don't win? They don't, seven of the first eight games in these, none of these positive games grips.
I think James Cook, again, they're receiving if they fall behind. They're rushing. I think you could take James Cook over. Yeah, John Taylor and Jackson Smith and Chick-fil-A. I think the message I wanted to deliver about James Cook is that if you have like the seven eight nine tenth pick in the draft and his name is sitting there, don't overlook him because he's boring. He is legitimately a great pick. And when you take him, no one will say anything. But that's kind of the point of this whole episode. If you wanted to do like a blind, you know how that you do like blind comparisons of two different players numbers like him and Derek Henry are so close in their numbers in terms of total scrimmage yards, not very far apart. Total touchdowns, Derek Henry had two more total touchdowns, but Cook had more yards. Touches per game almost identical carries per game almost identical. And both on good, explosive high scoring offenses with good quarterbacks and in quarterbacks that can help open up things in the run game. It's just fast because like they are completely different sizes and totally like archetypes.
But people don't think of James Cook leading the league and rushing. No, he's not respected like a top-right elite running back in real life. And in fantasy, I know a lot of bills fans are like, he's not boring. That's not our point. Our point is James Cook's going around Sequan Barclay, Derek Henry, people who have mythology around them. And James Cook is like, if you ask an actual NFL fan to list the top five running back to the NFL, they're probably going to think about listing James Cook. No. And so that's a good, it's a great call. He can probably should be. Who is your first boring player that you think can win people leagues? Yeah, and I think, and this is another guy highly ranked, but I think among the elite tier receivers in the NFL not has highly thought of and that's Nico Collins for the Texans, I think a lot of this has to do with just the offence he plays and people are down on CJ Shroud. I get all that. He's also just not famous. Right. Why do receivers are often, AJ Brown is famous. You know, Jefferson is famous. Yeah, like they start first take. Like a first take episode can start with AJ Brown. And like, I think you'd be shocked if Steven Smith's to open with like, Indico Collins right? Totally. Because it's like, we're not saying the way he plays is boring because it's, yeah,
he's a huge, huge fast. He's like, basically DK McCaff has his skill is amazing, but just like as a personality, as a name, he is not as famous as the other guys in this range. In the last three years combined. So last year he was Y. was super 10, you know, 12.7 half PBR. Nothing to like write home about. It was not super memorable. But over the last three seasons, this kind of surprised me a little bit when I looked it up. Y. was your seven in points for game. He's ahead of Justin Jefferson, Devonte Adams, AJ Brown, Mike Evans, Rishi Rice, NT Higgins in points for game over the last three years. When he plays, he delivers. He's had some injuries to your little bit. He's like a hamstring thing. He gets a little banged up. But when he's in the field, he's fantastic. When CJ Stroud, he had such a roller coaster like the great rookie year and then the down sophomore year. But I mean, part of CJ Stroud's amazing rookie year was that Niko Collins was like, Oh, this random third round around Michigan that was kind of like a- Took him a minute to get going in the NFL, too. Yeah. And then he's like third year, he just, I mean, I think he had more yards than third year than he had the rest of his year combined. And his career combined.
And he was like, oh my God, this guy is like the best outside receiver in the NFL after AJ Brown. And with Jaden Higgins out, they just traded for a cash on booty who I think is probably going to play sort of like a clear out, the quote unquote sacrificial X position where you're just running vertical routes. That's his game. He's really good deep down the field. I think this will be potentially even good for Niko Collins that they made this trade because he can run those routes and then you get Niko on more of the AJ Brown style stuff where you're getting him on slants. He can run after the catch. Maybe they're going to make make him even bigger part of the game in terms of his target rate, which has never been a lead. He's been a big play guy. But maybe his target rig will be tick up a little bit this year. And he has a chance to be, I think, a top five receiver. Yeah, he hasn't had the season yet. Yeah, that's true. Not the whole season. He's had he's had 10 game stretches. But like if you look at his counting stats holistically, he doesn't have more than eight receiving touchdowns in a season. Like he hasn't quite had the like 91 catches 1500 yards, 12 touchdown season.
And you're saying that like you think kind of late second round where he's going right now. He's a solid bet to do that based on the people around him. Yes. And I think he's he's one of those guys who and these are the types of players you have to point out high floor and high ceiling. Because I think he has a really high floor. He's going to be good. He's going to be the main focal point of the offense. At the very least you're going to have a solid starter at your your receiver position and not feel like terrible about it. But I think he also has that ceiling play where if is like I said, if his target rate ticks up, if the Texans offense improves, if Siege Stroud has a bounce back year, there's you're building like you could be a top five top four top three even receiver and fantasy. I think he has that upside that like not a lot of guys do. We have Niko Collins. We have him 21st in our rankings right now. We're going to update these this week. I think I still like to top 10 running backs over him. I still like would take prock hours over him. And I still even like up to Dave on it. Should I like AJ Brown over him? But I think Niko Collins is right there with Drake London. I think Drake London.
It was easy for me to take Niko over him and to what was going to play now that Pennix might play. I'm like, yeah, but I'm like, all right. Pennix is going to play 17 games this season. I don't know. So I think Nico is a he's I much rather would have Niko Collins than like Chris O'Lava, Ibuca, like these other guys, he feels like a much safer receiver in this second round of the top 11 running backs are gone. D.K. I know you're not the biggest AJ Brown fan. Would you take Niko Collins over AJ Brown? It's really close. I think I would in some like it's one of those ones where maybe switch off. Like I don't have a strong lean AJ Brown over Niko. I think Nico is more stable and has a higher floor though. I think I do think and I grew to you guys like I know I was playing devil's advocate on Bill show the other day about AJ Brown. I do think AJ Brown has a ridiculous ceiling. But I think I think I feel like I kind of alluded to that. But I do think Nico's floor is higher. I'm just mad that he thinks the floor is higher, but it's fine. No, I well, actually the one thing I want to mention on this just because I think it's worth is we also talk on our last episode about players.
We don't want to draft and you mentioned David Montgomery. And the issue is Houston. So they love braiding Smith the right tackle got he caught it off. We don't know the injury. Carlin often training camps always weird because let's like you think of it like a game. Sometimes they're like, yeah, but the fields far away like we just need a golf cart. So we'll see what happened at braiding Smith. I don't think we have a diagnosis yet. But the Houston offensive line does have like major mess potential. And I think that is something where that is probably how it goes down is just if the Texans offense is a mess again. Yes. Well, kind of pretending it'll be fine again. A team that I think is similar to that is Washington, which is another team that lost like Laramie Thompson, the left tackle is her. He's probably off of the season that Nikola Grady this center is he doesn't have a timetable for a term from a calf strain. The Washington offensive line is already a little I don't know. Just their drop in like flies. And I was going to talk about Terry McClure as a boring player. I really liked and I was like, well, Jim Daniels and Terry McClure and have like a mind meld and Terry is just like this guy. Like when you take Terry McClure and you're like, you're just not as excited.
It's cool to have Mike Evans. It's cool to have Luther Bird and it's cool to have all these guys, right? He is. Terry McClure and might be the most boring player on this list. Yeah. I think I think the poster child this year of like, yeah, you're like, oh, you got Terry McClure and I'm like, okay. She number two is probably good. Can I say something? The more I think about it, the more I'm like, I actually think we might have to. I can't tell if Terry McClure is a league winning boring player, but the more dove into it, I'm like, maybe we need to put all Washington on the do not draft list. There has not been a good word coming out of Washington. We've heard privately publicly reported like every, like it's bad when it all comes in like all these different unrelated avenues. And Nikki Javala, who is at the athletic, who's been a Washington post, she's been covering the Washington for like a minute. And she said that the Washington offense is the worst she has seen it in years and years and that the offensive line, the term she used was it is inoperable. And that is not no.
And I got to tell you with everything we've seen, this just seems like the offensive line that they're going to spend all off season trying to do the under center J and Daniel stuff. And they're going to have to abandon that ship by like week four. Trying to do the under center stuff. Joe burrow trying to be under center. All these guys are trying to be under center. Not working to work. It's not going to work. It's not going to work. This offense is going to they're going to have like that existential week five. Fuck it. We're going back to shotgun. What about what we did all summer? Not working bail. Get Kingsbury on the phone now. Fuck the lemons and bail. Run away. Run away. So now you're saying you were going to promote McClaurnd and now you're like, fuck it. I debated opposite directions. Yeah. I'm just going to tell you we don't do this a lot, but I actually think I want to belatedly ask you as for permission to put Terry McLeurren on the do not draft list. Nothing to with him, but I'm kind of out of Washington and I'm debating moving Jane Daniels. I actually, well, my ranking's already did this. I'm moving in below Jalen Hertz because we've talked so much about Jalen Hertz and the Eagles going for trying to do this understand. Like can they do all this different stuff? I'm very concerned about Washington's offense.
I agree. I had McClaurnd as my missionary position guy on Bill Shell. Everyone's had him even in the best case scenario when when Washington had like a historic offense into the efficiency. Yeah. He was like the wide receiver 60's that 16th best receiver in fantasy. So I'm like, that's kind of that's the ceiling. Yes. Sometimes you got to take signs and elements. And Rashad White may have injured his ankle doing the ice bucket challenge. Great video. Not not, you know, other than the part of getting hurt. That sucks if you got hurt, but you can kind of see him get up and slip and kind of like bounce on his leg weird. And I wouldn't be surprised if that said he's still not practicing, right? It's not ideal. No, it also here. No, I don't know. He's still not practicing. He's coming back from they're calling it a hamstring injury. But I do think that who knows if it was the ice bucket challenge, I know probably never tell us, but I think it might have been the ice bucket challenge. He did slide. He's the combination of do you think that's why the ringer tailgate guys didn't do the
ice bucket challenge when we we tag that we did the ice bucket challenge was mean to tag us. Yeah. No, it's true. You know, Vance, Vance a box of Vance boxing. No, no, no, Vance a boxer. You write Vance a boxer. And they just they bring your tailgate guys can't do the ice bucket challenge because they're afraid of getting hurt. That's really I mean, Tate's a great golfer. He can't get hurt. No, no, God forbid. Can you imagine scratch golfer? No legit though. He actually is. No, he is really good. He played with him last. All right. So the next guy on the boring list, Kyron Williams, who perennially one of the most boring players you can draft, does nothing but trying to get rid of his guy forever. Totally. Everyone's like, Blakeorum. Great. And then the second Blakeorum becomes a guy that everyone's going to take the third guy and think he's better than Blakeorum. Kyron Williams 2024 was the eighth best running back in fantasy. Last year, he was the 11th best running back in fantasy. Basically every time this dude is playing and getting the majority of carries, he's a top 10 running back in fantasy. He has never ranked that way. He's ranked as the 14th running back right now. Even if you look at last year after Corin became more involved and was getting like double digit touches per game, like,
Vultureing touchdowns and everything. Week seven to 17, Corin was much more involved. But Kyron Williams and that stretch are be 10. Yeah. Like you, you just, you have to stop wish casting or whatever want to say something that's that's not. They keep paying Kyron Williams. They keep resigning Kyron Williams. He's 26 years old. He's on the best offense in the league. He was fifth in carries over the last two years. Like the goal to go situation Kyron Williams is 70% of the snaps. Corin was 28. Corin can be involved. That's totally fine. Right. But Kyron Williams is like trusted by Sean McVeigh. They're the one of the best offense in the league and he gets the ball near the end zone. And last year they had what like 15 one yard touchdown passes like, true, the Devonta Adam stuff. Sure. If that just regresses even marginally and they run the ball more on the goal line instead of trying to throw those little like passes to go to 20 Adams. I mean, he could end up with 13, 14 touchdowns. We, we talk about how there's only 11 running backs in fantasy that we want. And Kyron Williams is the top 11 running back every year. I do agree though. It's like you don't get, you don't see people getting stoked when they draft.
Yeah. No, he's the epitome of this. I think Kyron Williams is similar to Javonte Williams in to me and that they're, they're not that exciting in real life or also in like fantasy because I think there's a perception, probably reality. Actually, the Kyron and Javonte don't have the upside to have like a, be a top three fantasy running back. But then when you go back, they're like, you say that over and over and then nine years later, you look back and you're like, oh, they're never really a bad pick one time. Where they, not so much about Javonte, but this season like that. I think he's the safest running back. And I think that the knock on, I'm like, we always talk about the Ryan Heath and the upsides, everything Scott merit. And but that logic, if you're like doing the Ricky Bobby, they're safe. But like sometimes that is what people want. It's like just the safe player that won't fuck them over. You say he doesn't have upside. I excluded this because Korum wasn't there, but in 2023, he was the number two running back and so you know, which is one of the more shocking ones. There's been a 20 points of game. I mean, that's as good as it gets. So, yeah, I mean, if Korum gets hurt, he's a top three.
I don't know. We just do this all the time where it's like we expect the change to come and it never does. And you should just, you usually the best strategy in fantasy is like whatever happened last year will probably happen. Volume volume. He's not happening. You're like, yeah, actually, what if it just does happen? Everyone's going to happen. What's going to happen that hasn't happened before? You should just bet on what happened last year will happen again. That's actually really funny. He's done studies on this list. The strongest correlator for fantasy. It's last year. Future fantasy points is last year's fantasy. Just fade regression is going to regress. I'm guilty of it with Lucifer Bird. Like, what could he be? It's like, or I'll just take the guy who had 1300 yards last year because they'll probably just do it again. This is like James. A mon rust same brown has just had one of the three most consistent seasons ever. Like he had like a thousand like 1200 yards, 10 touchdowns and 100 catches, three as in a row. And the only people who have done that three as in a row are like Antonio Brown. I maybe defantabs and like Jerry Rice. You know what I mean? I think maybe Marvin Harrison and the cult like literally just inner circle hall of the famers and a mon rust same brown. And they were like, yeah, he's a little bit a th.
Yeah. I don't know because he's a fifth rounder. If Kyron can be your fourth pick in your draft, I think that's a lovely pick. When you say Kyron is the Amon Ra of running backs. Well, I think it's James Cook is the Amon Ra of running back. I probably say James Cook. I think it's Kyron. Well, you're wrong. I like it better my way. Okay. Tika, who's another? I'm going with Javante Williams for the Cowboys. The reason I say this and I think in particular number one, he's just kind of a boring player. People don't talk about that much. In the last he used to be so. He used to be sexy. And this was like before he got hurt multiple times. You got to capriot. The JK Dobbins thing. Yeah. You just don't believe him anymore because he got hurt too many times or whatever. But I've heard more discussion and seen way more like exponentially more discussion on Twitter and blue sky in different various social media places that about Jaden Blue, Malik Davis, all the back up. I haven't heard a goddamn thing about Javante Williams, which is to me, it's just kind of crazy, but that says because he's too busy resting during the preseason.
He's the starter. Yeah. Last year. Maybe Blue's tearing up third string defenses. Yeah, it's like in every week it's somebody new that's going to be the back like Javante Williams back up, which I think tells you everything you need to know that Jaden or that Javante Williams is going to get the lion's share of everything. So last year he averaged 27 rushes per game. I was sorry, the Cowboys averaged 27 rushes per game. One of the best offenses in the NFL and Javante Williams was seventh and expected fantasy points according to fantasypoints.com. The Cowboys have a very good shot to be the best number one offense in the NFL this year. Javante Williams doesn't really split a ton of work and he's confronted the fourth round. He's the Arby 16 and ADP and last year he was seventh and expected points. 250 rushes, 252 rushes, which was 10th most among all running backs. And their high scoring team, they're going to be in the end. They're going to be in the red zone. He gets almost all of their red zone carries. Almost exclusive.
And he was he's still got it. Honestly, I think it's like we had this thing. It's the same with Jacob Dodgman's as I said where you kind of think he's washed and you just can't do it anymore. He was 26. He was fourth in yards after contests. 26. I think he's like we got to give him the benefit of the doubt that he's actually pretty good. He's younger than Kai. Is that right? Is Kai 27? Yeah. Javante Williams is younger than Kai. Kai's got a hold. Kai's growing up. He is. Kai's all growing up. The big hole in the profile. Kai's kind of washed. Kai is chopped and washed. Look out, Kai. Nikhil 22. Day two. Nikhil. Watch back. Watch your back. It's crazy how quickly you get washed. By the way, what's theunk mean? I know what it means. If you have to ask your own. Where's it come from? It's the uncle. No, I thought that wasn't what it is. Is that right? Oh, is that right? Yeah, it is absolutely from uncle. Google it. Stop. Stop it. Googleing where the slang term came from. I know. I'm like, I'm like, that's also your own. I was just like, where does it come from? It's because you're like an uncle. You're old.
It's called Jeremy Bernard Unk. Because you're old. What do you think it came from? I'm like, you're a uncle. I'm like, you're a uncle. You're a man. I thought it came from uncle. Like, they're calling you like uncle. Yeah. That's exactly what I'm talking about. That's not actually what it is, which makes you a total. Did you see it on the talk tick or what? Where do you see it? You probably watched it on Facebook. It's the ticked talk. I don't know. All right. Well, if you guys, if you can find that source, this is a great, I love the Kyron Chavante Williams thing though, because it is a great like fantasy brain. You got to start early running back this year. And you know what's actually going to work? If you're at the turn, I have the twelfth pick in the rear of fantasy league. Oh, I don't know. You know what I shares what I think they were saying it was. It's short for uncool. There's no fucking way. I don't know. I don't use it and I didn't make it up. So that's just what I read. Okay. But it is probably uncle. Yeah. I think. But I guess I could be wrong. The fact that I the fact that we're out of word about it is. An indictment. Okay. I just feel like I like the combo of what you guys are saying. Kyron Williams, Chavante Williams, because that's their boring.
They're the epitome of this exercise. The every fantasy analyst. I feel like has kind of settled on the same strategy, which is take running backs early, get receivers in the middle. And like, it's not unique to us. Like we've been saying that. And I'm like, you know what's probably going to work. All the running backs are going to get hurt. And we're going to, if I took Justin Jefferson and CD Lam, like with my, you know, 12 and 13th picks. And then I came back in and I took Chavante and Kyron Williams with the next turn. And my starting run, and my starting lineup was Kyron Williams, Chavante Williams, Justin Jefferson, CD Lam. Three weeks into the season. All your cool sexy sleepers are probably going to suck. And my team will probably be crushing. And it's like in theory, not like a sexy preseason team. And then the season begins, like holy fuck, I'm never going to die. Let me ask you this. What feels better? Having a team of boring ass players and dominating all like the new, like up and coming Pipsqueaks and all of them or whatever, is it like feel better to find the next guy and be like, if you find the next guy, it's the best feeling in the world. But it's, it's equally terrible when you,
when you take all these shots on these upside picks and none of them pan out. Can you go over six? Yeah. Well, it's like the sunk cost where you're like, I got to double down and I got to keep starting them. Because what if I, I bend them and then it works out. So then you're just like starting Luther Burton for 16 games. Yeah. And it never happened. What gets forgotten too is that, and this is maybe the biggest blind spot of when we do try to talk about fantasy during the season, is we forget how, we're like, read the points per game as an average, as if that was not an average of absolute roller coaster. And five weeks in the last season, Cousin Sal had a Mecca, a Buka and Tyler Warren. And Justin Jefferson, we're like, he's never, like he's never gonna die. I don't think I can die. Or something. Yeah. And then he hits, and then CD Lamb got a high ankle sprain. Justin Jefferson started playing with JJ McCarthy. Colts collapsed. Colts, and then yeah, Tyler Warren dropped off a cliff. And then a Mecca, a Buka played through an injury. And he went from literally the best team in the league by far to basically the worst team in the league. And so even if you could see the first five weeks of the season,
you could not build the best team for week 10. And like I think we forget that sometimes. And so there's something to be said, I don't know, that's all. There's also something to be said about. The best strategy can sometimes just be zagging. Yes. Almost as if it were what it is. It's just, when everyone's moving one way, it's like the Rams using tight ends. It's like, we just need to go against the personnel, try something else. If everybody in your league is... The Patriots did it with the Bellachek. Yeah. You have to beat 11 other teams, just do something they're not doing. If everybody in your league is trying to get the top two 11 running backs, maybe you go the opposite and you just get two fantastic values that I'd receive it or start your draft because nobody's taking them. And that's why it's funny with the tight end thing, because in real life, all these NFL teams are trying to do more two tight end sets and more three tight end sets. And I'm curious what you think of this DK, but I do think fundamentally. We haven't talked about it a ton. We've tried to do a lot more like fantasy, help people for drafts. But it is an interesting thing because fundamentally, if you go to the course, like, why are teams doing this? Why does it work? I do think it's a supply issue, where it's...
Well, college football is producing more tight ends than linebackers. Like, you can't... It is so much harder to have four capable linebackers that can play pass and run defense. It's just easier to find four tight ends that can have passable run blocking and pass, like being able to be a conceivable pass weapon. You put your fourth best linebacker on the field over the course of the season. You're like, oh, well, two over top five guys are hurt, so we're going to drag this guy in the field. You could probably expose the flock out of that fifth linebacker, and your fifth tight end might be able to play. But it's all cyclical. The Rams are ahead of it by 2028. No one's going to be playing these two tight end sets anymore. Yeah, so if you're in an auction draft, let's say, and all of these top running backs say, Quon and Beishan Robinson, all of these guys are crazy bidding wars. Everybody's stretching their wallet to try to get two of these 11 guys. You could just bail, not do any of that. Get the wide receivers for an affordable cost and then figure running back out later. Honestly, you might have a better team. Yeah.
Just because you're not overspending like everybody else. So would you actually do that? Because I feel like we said so much about the early running back thing. But I do feel like I don't. I have to play it as it comes to you. Yeah, you feel like it's, that's the toughest. The hardest advice to give about is like, what do I do in my draft? It's like, it depends. Being nimble. It being nimble is like the best thing. It's just like, you got to feel it out. You got to see how things are going, what's inflated, what's not. And you got to act on it. I feel like when I'm just thinking the whole time you guys are talking when you win with guys like this that we've talked about. When you, when you just dominate, it feels like you're just freaking posting someone out. Like just thought to me in the post. Yeah. I'm going to back you down. Tim Duncan just called him out. And Duncan. And Kyron Williams my third running back. A little shot. Yeah, Kyron's your third running back. I will say the other, that is the other part about that I do think this is actually the biggest blind spot. I think when you look at fantasy rankings and it's happening because of best ball. And now the first year and forever the best ball is like more running back heavy. The part, there's so much of fantasy analysis is influence. But what happens the best ball of the summer is everyone forgets that three weeks into the season.
Everyone is trying to trade wide receivers away to get running backs. Like running backs are so much more valuable three weeks into the season than they were even three weeks ago. Yeah, because you look at your running backs that you're going to play. And somebody gets hurt and you're like, I'm fucked. And it's just it. Yeah, it's rarely if you get through the healthy guys like having a bunch of running backs usually works. Speaking, which I want to ask you guys about running back that we haven't not talked about, but is Travis H in for the Saints, the artist formerly known as Travis ETN. And so I do think he's an oddly boring player like he's pretty exciting for boring guy. Been around a minute, won the one the national championship with Trevor Trevor Lawrence Clemson. I don't think he's I don't think he's super highly regarded like people think he's that good. No, I think he had really high expectations coming out. And he kind of didn't meet them the first to see. Yeah, broke his foot and everybody kind of just forgot about him and he's quietly been pretty good. But but I agree with you. He's not a top tier guy and people's mind. And so he had 1100 yards last year and that was like, you know, kind of a Renaissance for Travis H. It started very hot.
It started very hot. And I feel like we haven't really been able to talk about him properly because I was really high on him over the summer when we thought Camera, Alvin Camera was going to retire. Then Alvin Camera decided to come back and we moved Travis H. and like way down because we're like, man, Camera probably took a lot of his even work. Yeah, a lot of his even work and also Camera might be in for the goal line stuff. And you're like, man, I don't know about this now. And then Alvin Camera has this like MCL injury and it's going to be out of month. But I'm like, yeah, he was already kind of. Camera was getting cooked before Camera rehabbing a MCL injury mid season. I'm like, the guys behind Camera have done nothing. It's Kendrick Miller who Dennis Allen fucking hated. And you have like, Audric Estim and a lot of guys. I can't believe Kendrick Miller is still around. I know. Watch him just be a good sleeper because he, but I just think the Saints team, it's kind of back to what we thought, which was, it's just going to be Travis H. And getting 14 plus million dollars a year in free agency. The Saints have, I believe the second EC schedule in the entire NFL. It's like the lines of the easiest and then the Saints of the second easiest. That is like why I'm just automatically.
I think the Saints are going to win the NFC South purely because that schedule stuff. Look at the Patriots last year of an easy schedule. Like it does play out that way where the schedule matters. And I just think the Saints, I think Travis H. He's going to get the goal and stuff. I think there's a chance he ends up doing a lot more passing down work because I don't think the guys behind him are particularly impressive in those situations. And I think the Saints know that they're deaf, trot sucks because they traded for fucking some mere white. Yeah. Which is insane. I kind of forgot he was in the NFL. I know. I didn't realize he was. So I think they're really concerned about their depth. But all that to say is I think Travis H. He's in this tier. I know that's like a long, winded thing. But I just think he's to me kind of in this category. If they're not as good of an offense as Dallas to the Rams, obviously. But I think Travis H. And we should he might be ahead of. He should be in their briefs hall. Camps, Gattaboo. Like is he ahead of the Andre Swift? Like I think he's higher than these guys. Yeah. And I think it's a conversation is you are you going to look back and want hammerly for burden. I think I'm moving him out of the head of like Tyramic Lauren. Like, you know, I grew that these are the hardest guys to draft in my opinion.
Yeah. I have one buddy in my high school league Jackson. Who every year just drafts like six of these running. Just take Kyron, Devonte Williams, Travis ETN. He get there all like 15, 20 bucks. He doesn't care. And he's like, oh, this scoop all of them up. Patchwork. Everyone's been 52 on Safequan Barclay McCaffrey. I'm just going to scoop up like five of these guys. Three of them will be massive values. Two won't work. But they were super affordable or sometimes like all of them work. Like he just grabbed like Bucky Irving and all these people. Right. And to me, what's nice about these picks is they're not competitive picks. Like you there's not going to be fights for them. No one's going to be reaching for them. They're always just going to be sitting there waiting for you waving at you. Yeah. They're going to fall. People take these people begrudgingly. And again, I think think of the difference between Travis ETN and Ken Walker. They both signed in free agency for about 12 or 13 million dollars per year. And I understand the chiefs are a sexier offense than New Orleans. However, Ken Walker is going to be like a top 15 pick in fantasy or certainly a top 20 pick.
And he has a history of foot issues. You know, we're shoe think today that I don't know what to make of. I don't know what to make of that. I have to wait for reporting on that. His shoe is making his foot hurt. Is what they're saying. I don't I don't understand. Who Longas hasn't had a bad experience with a new parachute? You mostly you don't mostly don't hear about that. But then you look at Travis H. And he's getting the same amount of money and you're like, oh, what are they going to do with them? Well, they paid him 12 million dollars in free agency to run the ball and set up around Tyler Schuck. I'm like, I don't know. I down the Cameras out. I think he's to me just leaps out as like an obvious and retrospect. Oh, yeah. I think almost we haven't learned the lesson of Derek Henry's sake one. When teams choose to pay money in free agency for running back, it's because they sat around and we're like, we're going to give this guy the fucking ball. I totally agree with you. H.H.H. has 1400 yards from Scrammage in three out of four seasons. He's been in the league and he scored 32 touchdowns. It's not like he's been terrible. He's a first real pick too. Like he's tools player. The lesson with these guys is like, you don't have to avoid them. It's okay to draft them.
Yeah. Yeah. It's funny to think that like there are leagues where Bayeshell Tutin is going ahead of Travis H.H.H.H.M. Yeah. You know what I mean? And I already can tell Bayeshell Tutin's going to be like the rushing yards leader because of how many times I've had a shit talking. But anyway, any other boring players crack. Yes. I want to bring up a quarterback who I think really fits his category. Brock Purdy. Is it because he's ugly? You guys are so mad. You bring him dead last in the NFL. That's fucking crazy. When I think back on it, I think back on it, I don't know how that happened. We were like, I think it was just like, I'm moving him down. This is the ugliest guy in the NFL. He's absolutely not. No, he's like a perfectly normal looking guy. I don't actually know how that happened. You put Aaron Rogers ahead of Brock Purdy. Maybe you think he's so boring. He's just completely underwhelming. You didn't even see it. You didn't notice.
Sure. Well, that's a good, you kind of forget his there in fantasy, but he always is. So we talked a lot about how this summer about how like good Trevor Lawrence was to close last year. And the fantasy playoffs Trevor Lawrence had the most points ever in the history of fantasy football for quarterback basically. Brock Purdy last year in the fantasy playoffs was second. The second most fantasy point. Oh, that bear's game was awesome. He had like three touchdowns and five then three. Literally the second best playoffs in fantasy football history for quarterback Brock Purdy. 31 points per game. Yes. He was beat up all year. Had turf toe. Yeah, I can relate. It sucks. He was in and out. We don't talk enough. You got turf toe and I had to pull the hamstring in the last 12 months. We're getting old. We're doing our own research early 30s. But despite all that, like when he was a quarterback six last year, he was the six best quarterback in points per game. He does this heavy fucking year. I'm kind of all in on Brock Purdy this year. He does this every year. He is necklake. Weirdly. Yeah. Right now in drafts, he's getting taken as the 15th quarterback off the board.
He has never not been a top 12 quarterback in fantasy. Yeah. He's got a lot of back six. Then they didn't have McHalford for an entire year. He was the quarterback 12. And then last year, he was the quarterback eight. Over the last eight weeks last year, he was the quarterback one. He's over the last three seasons. He's first in EPA per dropback. He's first in success rate. And over the last three years, he's the sixth best quarterback in fantasy. I'm just like, he gets beat up a lot. He got the elbow thing. He got the turf toe. He had a shoulder. But when this dude plays with Shanahan, it works. He's mobile. He runs. When he's healthy, he is a top 12 quarterback. And he's going 15th. And it's not sexy. And I get it. But like we're saying, late round quarterback is a great thing to do this year. Kyler Murray, Malik Willis, like whatever you want to do. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock.
Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. üf. Shock. Shock. Shock. Shock. aho. They might be a sneaky shootout team like a team that just has to score a lot of points because their defenses and as good as it used to be What say you substation That's what I'm worried about It's been there the last couple of years though for the record You have to be bold it has gotten bigger you have to be bold it literally has gotten it all serious I think my my answer is not that I disagree I love the way the substation Good that's a good tag so I'm down lower. I'm all in on substance air. Yeah We we need to build more Bill more substations. Yeah, here's my question. Okay, where exactly are you taking them because I cuz here's a if you wait a quarter back to share
It really works and just to say the names because obviously put the 49 you know those you know those balls of electricity Where you stand in the middle of the orbs electricity? Oh, yeah, yeah, what's with those? What's with those I have ranked 10th? Okay, so Josh Lamar Drake May Jaden Daniels Jalen Hertz Joe borough Justin Herbert Caleb Williams Trevor Lawrence. That's nine Jack Prescott 10 I have I have it I haven't above DAC. I have them above bone next Above DAC color Murray Jackson Dart. Yeah See I think the all those things I stack at 11 it feels weird to do that But then when we look back at the end of the year he's gonna be he's Kyron. He's the Kyron Williams. Yeah, what would you? Okay, that's Definitely true The rock party No, cuz a mona has a good like a mona has good clips from his podcast like you know what I mean like he's you know You know the real hair about if he had a podcast like probably that you hear that fucking guy He said it was the ugliest quarterback in the NFL. He's probably probably he'd start ranking ugly podcasters
And I wouldn't do well. I think you like you like rank his favorite La Croix flavors I'm gonna go with Pompal Moose. Yeah, that's up there for me. Lime Yeah, he's like I'm more of a spin-dirt guy now that goes with the conversations. He's having you know guys I'm one contract all of a sudden I'm drinking spin-dirt. You signed one two hundred fifty million dollar contract I upgrade to sandpiling greeno Kirkland brand come on Kirkland sparkling water. Yeah, you spark some water guy sometimes. I don't like flavored spark water like plain Like just the just that like the well just you know, it's bubbly. That's it. What's confusing about that? I guess nothing Just I'm shocked back you would like that Sparkling water's actually the original and then the out of your flavor. Yeah, that's like brutal What's confusing about that? He's about to be like the clear version of like yeah water not that I was trying to carbon I wasn't trying to clarify that was the one you were talking about bubbles I was more like shocked. That's why you you like that flavor or non-flavor Yeah, yeah, I don't know. Yeah, I like regular sparkling water. I don't so why don't you just drink water?
Sparkling water is water. I also drink. I'm not saying I only drink sparkling water I just like occasionally a glasses No mouth feel. Yeah mouth feel. Yeah, it's a funny word But you don't ever just want to glass this sparkling water. I dinner. It's nice refreshing. Yeah with gas as they say in Europe With gas do they say that? I don't know. I think so Anyway, what me adding Brock pretty 10th Is that offensive to you too? No, but you I wouldn't do it, but I understand why wouldn't you do it? Because I don't think Brock pretty has a great path to being a top three or four difference making quarterback as easily as Guys who can run for like more yards birdies mobile But Jackson starts really mobile kind of Murray's really mobile I understand why you don't want me like well because the dolphins are actively tanking I'm not gonna argue that like also me like well Has it necessarily been a huge rushing threat all the time. I mean six-tuck passing touchdowns in four years So I get that yeah, you're like lower on him You have him as your 16th quarterback D.K. has him 11th No offense to party I just haven't been a group of like parties with Patrick my homes and Matt staff
You talk about things that will happen again. Well, I'm like Matt Stafford just go like in the past Matt Stafford would have been like the seventh quarterback, you know, and like we're like that's too high Party this year. I don't it's funny because staff I'm a home you rather have my homes and pretty It's kind of crazy that I don't question because my home's quietly was very good in fantasy last year But yes, that's the thing. I'm like it's one of those where I Just don't want to end up with I'm not against party But I think it's the most risk you've ever taken on the Niners because I don't I'm it seems like Cal Shannon's getting better with the concussion But I just can't you just envision us sitting here what it's August 26th Don't you just have a premonition of a sitting here next year and you're talking about brok proding you're like throughout last year Cal Shannon You got a car accident right before the season of course that was never gonna work I'm like obvious hindsight is 2020 team Yeah, and that's what the Niners are a disaster at the beginning of every season Even by there's like Cleveland is an embarrassment even by Cleveland standards this 49er season is an embarrassment even by or not in Bear said it's is a bad omen
Everything's gonna go wrong season even by 49ers standards and I just how many things do I need to see To be like I don't know about San Francisco this year. That's why we've brought pretty down is because I take it's not I'm trying to make light of Cal Shannon's concussion. I'm taking it very seriously Like he was talking two and a half weeks ago about not being able to talk to multiple people at the same time and I'm like, okay Let's say that let's say there's a 12% chance that Kyle Shannon's like play callings diminished this year like okay. I'll move rock pretty down three spots I think we should turn key all these players so you don't believe brok pretty deserves to be on this list Now I'm against him. I just think I'm not targeting him. I don't think he's a bad pick at all You were talking about like the mobile guys or whatever last year pretty I this is shocking pretty had more rushing Points for game rush fantasy rushing points per game then Lamar Jackson Daniel Jones Caleb Williams Those are the three big that kind of stand out to me, but like I would not have guessed that Lamar Jackson Take it well I know but like I would have expected like the way that we're talking about Caleb Williams this year
Oh, he also runs he also gives you that scramble like pretty is scrambling around just as much What do you like to say about him? Sneaky little shit He's always just scampering. I'm not rummaging through your garbage at night Scoundrel I think you nailed it rock parties the Kyron Williams of quarterbacks. I think that's exactly true Including him at a boring quarterback. Yes, I'll turn key. I'm I've put my money where my mouth is on this I've got him. Do you have any other boring home league? And I really hope he does well Do you have any other boring players decay that you like for this year? We're gonna go with a jets player here Which is always really you know it sometimes it doesn't work out to do that But most of the time most of the time because it breeze your Garrett Wilson. It's Garrett Wilson for the next So I don't think we've talked about one time. He's not sexy. He's become boring. He used to be incredibly sexy. Yeah, yeah Yeah, so I think first of all I think he's really good at the game. I think he's a really good receiver Secondly, I'm not he is good. I'm laughing because it's just the way you said that was funny
It's good at the game good at the game. I trust that at the very least. I don't trust the jets and I don't really trust Geno anymore, but if Geno kind of reverts back last year was it complete fucking mess with the Raiders Everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong coaching We've talked about a ad nauseam the coaching was horrible No one was on the same page all that stuff Geno with terrible If Geno can get back to even something close to it We saw in 2024 2023 I think this jets passing game can be a lot better than people are sort of projecting it to be expecting it to be not elite But a lot better a lot more you know usable and fantasy and if you go back Three seasons and like the quarterbacks that he's had Garrett Wilson's had over the years air in rare air in Rogers I think one year was pretty good and then other than that. It's just an absolute you didn't like the Tim Boyle Jeff Wilson Was white what's that white Mike white Mike white Mike white guy? He was he would have gone by the white Lotus. Yeah, yeah, that's honestly his biggest issue is not doing that
Anyways, go back to traveler That was the craziest one because he was like the XF he had won the Canadian League or the XF LNVP I'm the one we're missing that was a question. Was it flacco just it feels yeah, he couldn't complete a path He had two different stints of Joe flacco. That's the craze Garrett Wilson a Joe flacco twice Yeah, anyway, so it's not been great, but apart from all that he's average 9.3 targets per game over the last three seasons He's still a massive massive focal point of the offense and the only guys that have had more than that per game We're last three seasons then Garrett Wilson targets Almanra Devonte CD-Lam Puka Jamar and neighbors He's up there with the he's awesome in terms of target rate Commanding targets being the focal point of the offense if he was just if you just swapped Justin Jefferson for Garrett Wilson Or do you think Garrett Wilson would go and drops? Like this year they were traded or their whole careers. Let's just say this year Wow, that's a really I think a lot Like a second round pick well Garrett Wilson would certainly be higher than oh my god
That's breaking my brain. I think Justin Jefferson would sorry Garrett Wilson probably be around that like Nico Collins Yeah, right and I think so there's a number of variables working against Garrett Wilson number one just history He's he was hurt last year for a big chunk of the season people kind of forgot him No, Jets receiver had 400 yards last year which has never happened right terrible But I think like after the draft and kind of in throughout the post throughout the offseason We've been like oh the Jets are not only going to be bad and she knows gonna be bad But now there's just this massive amount of target competition They just drafted two guys Kenyans to D.K. Omar Cooper turns out I don't think either of those guys are going to be playing much this year like the way that preseason and training having gone Kenyans D.K. is hurt Doesn't sound like Omar Cooper has really like established himself at all He's not even the wibers you were three at this point Omar Cooper is bordering on irrelevance for first jump It's making me a little nervous on him, but So then he's basically going a Garrett Mitchell's basically going against 80 Mitchell who has outside of last year when Garrett was gone
Not been able to command targets. He's basically been he had to touchdown away through the ballway at the goal line and then they traded him Sure, yeah I mean I exactly demand targets He's so maddy he got rid of the ball. He's got so many targets 80 Mitchell is the big target competition then outside of that It's like Isaiah Williams, Tim Patrick You know Mason Taylor the tight end It's not a huge amount of target competition. This is a good somebody on his team as the catcher I We do this all there's always a couple guys every year and fantasy where it's like if the horrible quarterback situation can be decent This guy's a value. I have been hating on Garrett Wilson all off season And I think we all agree here. Wilson's a great receiver and he's replaced Tyramac Lauren who replaced the Andre Hopkins as the guy He's replaced layer Fitzgerald as the quarterback who has had the worst cavalcade of quarterbacks over and over There's no question Garrett Wilson's talented the question is I have been saying over and over and over again that I don't believe in Aaron Glenn is that coach in Frank Rikers He often's a coordinator in genus mythic quarterback having said that air one year ago one year ago
To the day we were like oh my god, man Can you believe the sea locks replacing genus myth of Sam Donald that might be a huge mistake? I'm like Raiders great vibes. You know you have genty Brock Bowers. Yeah, Donald on Seattle and then don't geno Smith Quarterback the team that had the worst record in the NFL and then the sea ox won the Super Bowl So all you're saying is what if Geno is somewhere between the guy we thought he was a year ago and The worst quarterback in the league right because even in the middle of that any kind of competency and the jets of a much better more Talented probably offensive line. Yes, then the Raiders do and also if Frank Rikers more talented offensive He's has more left in the tank than I thought because you could I've been saying over no He's been in a Stanford for two years been out of the NFL He's got more left in the tank than Chip Kelly. We know that is that's that is honestly a good way to say it It's he genus myth doesn't have to be great. He just has to be you don't have to be faster than the bear Everyone's like what I'm saying so I'm afraid it doesn't have to be great He just has to be not I know but anytime you say that I always get nervous because I This was the exact argument I made for Calvin really last year. I was like Kim were doesn't that to be great
But word was a rookie. I know but still like it's like he was the first overall pick and there's fucking draft So you'd assume that he could be okay, but but this is this is the thing because I think a lot of jets fans are mad How much I've said because it's nothing we care. We'll sit or nothing to do with pre-sale either on different teams They'd be great, but I am afraid because I've been wondering who's the player this year that I'm gonna be like don't take them That is amazing because there's always one every year and I have been wondering if it's Garrett Wilson You know, Sal does like that one super Gary Russell the Gary Russell You're gonna do the Josh Jacobs pick of the year where it's like the guy I hate that will explode Well, I think you guys have to tell me I do if I say I think the question is but here's the thing There's only two it's gonna be basial to it and they're Garrett Wilson probably you know what I mean? And it's because I keep using basial to it and every time we should just count the number of times you say a certain name Basial toons going ahead of fucking Drake may how does that make special toons down the lead? I think now Garrett Wilson though has been high where I'm like you want to take someone over Garrett Wilson I'm like you're just believing in Frank, but I understand it's much easier to believe that air Wilson will be great Because there's no question these talented and Gina Smith could play well for three quarters and then we'd be like oh, I think
I think this is a good one DK to be honest. I think the offensive line is a big part of this. I think if Gino Has a clean pocket I feel pretty good that he can get the mold of Garrett Wilson the jets also have the fifth Easiest schedule according to war and sharps Metrics and I don't know to me. It's like I don't feel just with my chest necessarily But it's just a zag based on some of the variables that I think could happen I know he's like going a little earlier than I want him to be going like he's like the 20th wide receiver off the board Next to lad mcconkey had more way to look at the offensive court again It's betting on horses versus betting on jockeys like look at the offensive coordinators around Garrett Wilson But it's bearers and chargers and a guy like lad I think has a chance of going much earlier people will reach Like we said with all these guys no one I don't think anyone's not excited to kick you know So whatever you see him and like rankings. He's gonna fall there or later. He's gonna fall Yeah, and that's the point is maybe wait a right if you're thinking about him You can maybe that's how a lot of these guys work if you think about Garrett Wilson You could pick someone else wait around Garrett Wilson by fall back to you and then you're like okay, so that's feeling by the way
It is great. Yeah, I took that guy last round. Yeah, that's the best feeling in the world. There's no better feeling number one Feeling the best feeling in the fucking world Garrett Wilson falls around We'd you have that or better great piss rink the feelings in the world great piss great piss Garrett Wilson falls around later than you thought or sex Oh god, I think you nailed the order Yeah, you got it's fucking Mary kill. Don't change anything. Yeah Fuck the piss I kill sex. Yeah, fuck the piss and then I married I was in fall and around fuck the piss I don't know how that works, but it does We have one more boring one last mark Andrews for the Ravens. Yeah, I love this one It painted me of a boring tight end. I just no one you know. It's pretty much People don't feel anything sick of them. You don't feel anything at all like they're like pancakes DK What's the joke can't be all exciting at first, but then by the end you're fucking sick of them Everyone's like a mark angels. Everyone's ridden this ride. I Kind of increasingly wonder if we'll be like heat mark Andrews is easily the best valiant tight end this year
I'm telling you if Lamar can throw for like 28 32 touchdowns. Who's catching them? That's the thing because like if you look at the Ridge Ravens receiving for it's safe flowers who again doesn't really get End zone targets no Rashad Bayman who might be suspended for an incident that happened with him in June right and he's not like been a great receiver And then they have to wrote you know Jacobi Lane just having a great receive like a trick shot player right now He doesn't deal with physicality necessarily that well. He's a really cool player. He's the dude perfect of the Yes, he is yeah, and then Elijah Sirot who's having a terrible rookie like training camp and then Isaiah likely's gone And that's the thing is so mark Andrews is the cheapest he's ever been in fantasy really in seven years Even though Isaiah likely's gone and guess what the part that we have not talked about at all Mark that Ravens gave mark Andrews like a 40 million dollar contract extension in December So I feel like so much of mark Andrews price and again even a year ago He was a top 80 player now. He's like 120th and probably gonna go below that Ain't nobody thinking about mark Andrews this year. The sea hooks the sea hooks and Texans defenses might be taken before mark Andrews But again the premise is that mark Andrews has lost a step. Yes, and in reality the Ravens looked at their free
Free Asian tight ends mark Andrews as they are likely and Charlie Kohler Kohler And they paid mark Andrews who was the oldest of them to stay which the Ravens all as a policy don't do with players They think are declining like Dallas got our Jake Ferguson and Dalton can cater all going out of mark Andrews That makes no sense to me It would be surprising if Jake Ferguson led the Cowboys and touchdowns. I think it's expect astonishing if that happens Yeah, I think it I think it's expected when you look at Baltimore that mark Andrews should lead the Ravens to touchdowns I bet you if you looked at the odds He's favored and that's the thing and so I look at the Ravens and I'm like well Lamar was healthy with Lamar was hurt last year But the year before that mark Andrews also to down year he had got he had a hip search user coming from Then he got in a car crash and he almost died like two weeks before the season and the Ravens kind of like Downplayed it and we didn't know idea how like how serious the car accident was and it's just been a couple years But the fact that the Ravens paid him so much money frankly I don't know. It's like it's we can't do as much due diligence as the team like they could have left this 30-year I'll tight-end walk and studies the only tie down on the goddamn team. So all that's to say it's weird that he's
40 picks later than he was last year. How old is mark Andrews? I think he's 31. Yeah, 30 He's about to turn 31. You're right Although I like him so he's 30. Yeah, he's 30. He turns 31 September 6, which is doesn't matter though because I'm making the case form So he's only 30 years old making the case now 30 years and 51 weeks young Right Anyway, I just I think he's the I don't know. I like him. Yeah, I think he's he's a perfect example of why not And it's so cheap anyway, it doesn't matter again when you look at the players ahead of him It's again. I think George Kiddles having good Achilles recovery, but Achilles Herald fan in the browns probably gonna suck Tucker craft off an ACL cow pits in the falcons might suck uh Depending on the colds trimming bride and the cardinals cardinals might be terrible like I love rocked hours, but the Raiders might be bad like Mark Andrews and the Ravens might have the best record he had of fell two months into the season And the key usually with breakout tight ends often it doesn't come I mean he wouldn't be real breakout because he's obviously been very good in the past But usually tight ends that that do well in a fantasy season are on good off and yeah very good off and yes
And they're like the number one or number two option Mark Andrews weirdly checks both of those boxes and also he's good and just been in minutes left So with that said he just can't catch it sometimes he can he can catch it, but not always there you go most of the time Like that that's the that's the analysis right there he can catch it he can sometimes yeah Yeah, like I can catch it right I can always catch it right Fuck Mary kill with the players you suggested today Oh jeez we're gonna make this a tradition It's kind of well. I'm thinking about it. I'm thinking about it. All right, so James Cook Kyron Williams Brock pretty for for boring players that would win your league James Cook Kyron Williams Brock party. I would probably Mary James Cook fuck Kyron Williams and I guess I killed pretty Wow, I was sure you're gonna marry a pretty After all I thought I was talking about how he's not ugly. You're not gonna fuck a pretty I don't know I think James Cook legitimate he legitimately could be the number one running back in fantasy
Yeah, and I think Kyron is like criminally underrated every year DK fuck Mary kill with your picks I mean look I'm gonna I'm gonna fuck Niko Mary Javante And I'm gonna kill Garret Wilson. Sorry. I gotta tell you know what you didn't talk with Nico Collins It's a great name. Nico It's not boring it Nico's an incredible name Yeah, Nico's a good name. Could you give us a stride? He was so bad. We even gotten a stride from him stride In the pocket look look Got him. Nico Collins Got it. No Houston. Oh It's good. I missed that All right, I'm killing Terry McLoren. I'm going to Is Terry and he was that Terry a good name like Nico Terry And a name works with fucking Gus Johnson. Uh, what about Garrett Wilson? Garrett Wilson. Oh, man. That's not the best. Yeah, maybe not It's a spare bear
So what are you doing you have Terry you I'm killing Terry. I'm gonna. Garber. I'm gonna Fuck Mark Andrews and Mary H n really no, I'm gonna marry our engines and fuck H n Oh, interesting. What kind of like to the fuck Mark Andrews and Mary H n no, okay. I'm marrying H n and fucking I liked it the first time I just reacted to him saying that I'm just no, I like the way I said it. Yeah, yeah, okay All right, DK have you seen the news? I don't know have you seen the good news? Have you heard the good word right now? It's 78 degrees in sunny and Cleveland Is that right what are your thoughts? Well, I did how would you respond in my defense? I said it's probably nice there in the summer Wait, hold on hold on. Let's look up the weather in Siberia, which you said you prefer the weather in Siberia right now Siberia is a big plate. It's currently 44 degrees Fair enough like find another place in Siberia where it's hot find a new slant. Yeah, oh find a hot Where is Siberia in Siberia? So where in Russia is Siberia? It's like toward the East East. I just say clear skies Siberia 44 degrees clear sky. I'm looking at Google images Siberia looks
What's not what I thought it looks like at all. It's really pretty actually looks like Cleveland. Looky. Siberia kind of looks incredible Look at Siberia. Cleveland or we have to play this Cleveland or Siberia. We're gonna do this fucking game This is like that geolocation game. We do yeah looking at road signs. We did get an email from people in I thought you were gonna get screamed at and someone was like yeah, I moved to Cleveland. Deke is right That was like oh my god Look, I said Cleveland is probably really lovely in the summer The other thing I want to bring up before we go is the NFL is getting rid of the pro ball I love it and I love the fact that Shadour Sanders is like the last pro bowl quarterback To play in a pro ball. You know what that is correct. That should push us over the edge Shadour it actually feels like for the ones in their life. Yeah, I can't keep it. Yeah, all right That was the line They're making fun of us now Pro bowl quarterback Tyler Huntley. They're making fun of us. Yeah, tough week for Shadour to lose the job to To Sean Watson after he said basically tell the fans to fuck themselves and then also they ended the pro bowl because you made it
The Ranger fantasy football shows brought to you by Fandall before the football season begins every team is undefeated Every fan believes this could be the year the year their team wins the division Makes the playoffs lifts the trophy and with Fandall you can bet on any of it from who will win it all and division winners To season win totals and playoff futures Fandall has all the ways to bet on the season before it even begins Easiest bet the Broncos are 20 to one that win the Super Bowl I don't really understand that because the Broncos made the AFC championship game last year should have won But Bonaix got injured and then kept the entire team another 20 to one That doesn't really make any sense to me because the Broncos probably are gonna have the second best defense in the AFC I just how do the Broncos have the same Superb all odds as the Packers? That doesn't make any sense Like the Packers would be really weird if they made the Super Bowl or at least surprising the Broncos that would be super normal So the Broncos of 20 to one it just feels mispriced So get your football future bets in today on Fandall Visit fandall.com slash ringer fantasy to get started

I do need to add that to the
There's there's an Instagram account guy who just explains things using like baby talk like Fire hot. Uh-huh. Don't touch Craig says night dark Sun bye bye Bye bye. Yeah, won't mune say Sun bye bye Okay, the other I'm gonna skip these other emails I had because right before we started recording You started telling a story about when you you don't want to do it. No, we totally can't I thought you knew this I thought we talked about it. I I didn't register would be the last one be the last time or first time that you went to You were conversation you do the town with map felony you produce that show and you went with map felony to Interview James Cameron before the latest avatar came out fire-ache and you could for you Yeah, thanks for knowing the subtitle I crushed those ad reads for this The ever listening knows I crushed those my finest work with the avatar fire-nash ad reads and The you not only get to this interview James Cameron at his house, but then you watched Avatar
Oh his office light storm and you said right before we started recording that You watched Avatar with James Cameron in the front row of a theater of an empty theater couple corrections. Okay Um, we interviewed James Cameron But he wanted us to have seen the avatar so the day before the interview we went to light storm Which is his office in Manhattan Beach he has his own Private theater in there. It's like a whole of course of course he was not there He told us to watch the movie. Okay, oh he wasn't there. He didn't watch the movie with us We interviewed him the next day, but we it's the person who was there who was his like producer or whatever was like oh Jim only watches movies Front row dead middle so you somewhere Austin Gale is just like this vibrate. Yeah, he is on a new like You need to watch it like like he prefers so Matt and I sat literally Dead middle sitting back Avatar we wore the thing and you could have just wore sat further back. Oh, there's nobody in the theater Can I ask you a question? Have you considered for even one moment that that guy was just fucking with you? Oh, I like that
No, because I we corroborated that we talked about it James Cameron He actually why does he do that? He thinks like the most enveloping experience It allows you to like feel the movie the most meanwhile the honestly i max the front even in Los Angeles the front row and every i'm Exparing is literally empty because it's like a seizure warning Austin's just texting yes I He just said envelope I say that Um, yeah, I mean it was it was obviously a very cool experience, but I still the front row is brutal I can't do that no that's too much. I did enjoy it watching Avatar that way that was good like a chair that maybe reclines now We're talking a little bit hard recline, but like a lot yeah, it was like one of those like nicer, you know So it's better than nothing. It's better than just like a regular seat. Yeah, yeah, yeah um, but yeah Big front row Dead front row dead middle in an empty theater. That's fucking nuts That's actually a crazy thing to do and I can't believe you guys just sat there for three hours and we're like Why don't we move yeah, and then we interviewed him in the theater he was the same theater that he just we didn't like do it in an
Did you sit in the front row? No, not the interview There's like some tables that we had what's your favorite James Cameron movie Honestly, I thought the second Avatar was awesome. I like all the avatars Um, do you know me? You're made a rat. I'm gonna say rattle off a few terminator two or oh, yeah, I forgot about those kind of lame But like Titanic is fucking good. All right Titanic is really fucking good. Oh my god if you like nobody wants to watch Titanic If you you see done put on Titanic That's a good movie that's going in the fantasy I think it's not cool Titanic is funny because it probably is but what I was I've never seen it No, I've seen it. It's probably like technically a great movie or whatever But when I was growing up like when I when it came out is sad it's like all the girls in my class went and saw it like eight times Yeah, cuz then you know the great part of Titanic too is that no matter how many times you watch it
I always forget that we're coming back to that woman at the end. I always that always is like a shock to me. Yeah, she's that it sinks No No, you come back and she throws a lot. I always forget that that's happened. Hi, if it's like fucking sinks. I'm like what happens Holy shit I'm gonna rattle off some of his movies real quick the terminator Rambo first blood part two Uh, he didn't do the first part of first blood No, okay, well aliens the abyss which I think is a underrated movie well he did aliens which is the sequel to alien right? It's god of a human right, okay uh, terminator to judgment day point break true lies strange days Titanic I was about to come I was shocked Yeah, my bad because she did the hurt locker the same year that he did have a talk. Sorry, and he didn't he didn't direct Rambo first blood part two either. Yeah, what he didn't direct Rambo first blood part two either right? He is a writer on I'm glad you said that because I was very quiet and I was like James Cameron
Rambo I know I'm like really you're out of your death. You're just like it's just like written by me. I can't read You asked me every movie you're naming is wrong. I'm sorry point breaking. I didn't see the giant I didn't see the giant red box that said no way Wait, should we break that out and it sees reading a list but everything's wrong James Cameron did you did not or did not direct strange days either for the record Did you get a name he's right up in the time of them? Yeah, I can catch the ball just not all the time True lies he directed true lies with Schwarzenegger. Oh, that's a good he did to terminator Donna fate. Oh wait. No, that's a video game Paxton line from true lies. It's so good. Oh, he's so good. That's I just love the t-kiss reading everything on the screen like Ron burgundy I read the filmography and I thought it would be his filmography right He was a writer to be great
um what there was a really fucking famous line Who are the other? She could suck start a leaf blower She's a start a leaf blower man, that's good. Oh my god Oh, yeah, be Jim okay, it's like a ten year old boy Oh, yeah Anyway, no, it's cooking in that movie. Yeah, he really was cooking Did we want to talk about the the the butt wiping thing or you want to go? No, we've already done that on the show. Feel like we don't need to gross people out there. It's like my body new I do think your body subconsciously knew that it was my ball You know something changed about the vibe of that ball Yeah, and I topped it in it went one yard and high fits now has a 12th pick but that's not bad actually I honestly if I'm not getting a top two pick I don't mind the 12th I hit my own ball and I got 10th right and
I had all the low ball like I didn't do well. I didn't do well Yeah, we we needed to make it feel or we needed to make it random Right, you know, so anyway everyone hates us, but it's fun everybody says um, okay, they're have to be fun It can be great. Oh terrible song Is this is like your guys play a commercial song like warm-up music yeah for middle school back
Yeah, this is it's like high school basketball warm-up, but parentheses like cheesy no, it's perfect tongue and cheese It's not as good as like till I collapse But you would play it right before it till I collapse. It's JV football boss warm-up lock dude. It's what's minor fort minor like um I think a religious group is like religious rap what? I can't tell they're they're like the number if I could draft one hit wonders of our like Growing up they'd be my first pick. So it was a side project by what are the guys from Lincoln Park? Oh No shit. Oh, no one's good. No one. It was good. Are you serious? Uh, that makes sense why it was so fucking good and then I never heard about them again. It's Mike. Oh Mike Sonota That makes so much more sense. Well, I didn't know that you know what I was thinking of you know Oh, cuz that's why they yell Mike Sonota. I just thought it was like their friend.
