The Fifth Hour: Round Robin Mailbag

About this episode

It’s the first-ever Round Robin edition of the Sunday Mailbag—because apparently answering emails now requires a committee. Jay T "The Wingman" from the Smoky Mountains, Weedman Hippie from Hollywood, Florida, and his trusty sidekick Lisa from Long Island join Benny to chop down the mighty tree of P1 questions from the Maller Militia.

The gang tackles Snoop Dogg’s ice-cream dream job—which Weedman has naturally decided belongs to him—melting in Texas, 70,000 pints of beer disappearing, favorite utensils, quality documentaries, the latest Jerry Jones mosquito audio update, dumb money, no-prep Maller Monologues, favorite gizmos, and human urine helping melt Mount Everest.

Urine. Everest. Ice cream. Mosquitoes. This is what passes for intellectual discourse around here. And frankly, why shouldn’t it?

Ben Maller has Mail Bag fun for your Sunday! All questions sent in by new listeners & P1's of the #MallerMilitia! Download, subscribe, and remember that sharing is caring (unless it's an STD.)

This is an I Heart Podcast. Guaranteed Human I survived nine months in captivity and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them. I'm Elizabeth Smart and these are the survivor files. Every week I'm with survivors who live through the unthinkable, abducted, stalked, controlled and nearly silenced. These are stories about what it takes to make it out alive. Listen to the survivor files with the Elizabeth Smart on the I Heart Radio app Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. On the new podcast, Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering the ride on his motorcycle. I choose option B. I'm Julie Pinero and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word Solita, trading the pity for possibility.

Listen to Solita on the I Heart Radio app Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Our hometown is not a test tube. 90 miles northeast of Nashville, a battle for the future of America plays out in one small town. Developers with right wing ties have purchased hundreds of acres of land. We need cities on a shining hill. This is our town, a podcast about what happens when a small town becomes the site of a social experiment and fights back. I guess you didn't move in on a bunch of dumb hillbillies now did you? Listen to our town on the I Heart Radio app Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Why you deal with listening to our Armstrong and Ketting on demand? We're not boring. Lot of news is boring. And tedious. And depressing. And makes you angry. You don't want to live your life like that. Hey, I'm Jack Armstrong. He's Joe Getty. We're Armstrong and Getty. We try to bring you the truth and help you figure out this crazy modern world.

How about something about a comedic tone? What? We have a winner? Yes. Listen to Armstrong and Getty on demand on the I Heart Radio app. Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. On August 4th, 1962, Marilyn Monroe died. Then the rumors started and she died again. And now we're going to set the record straight and learn about the way Marilyn Monroe actually died. The Third Way. I'm Jake Brennan. And on my podcast, Hollywood Land, I revisit some of the biggest stories from Hollywood history. Separating the myths people want to believe from the reality underneath them. Hollywood Land is part of the exactly right network. Listen to new episodes every Monday on the I Heart Radio app. Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Kaboom! If you thought four hours a day, 1200 minutes a week was enough, think again. He's the last remnants of the old republic. A so-or-fashion of fairness.

He treats crackheads in the ghetto gutter, the same as the rich pill poppers in the penthouse. Wow. The clearinghouse of hot ticks break free for something special. The fifth hour with Ben Maller starts right now. In the air everywhere, the fifth hour with me, Ben Maller. And it is an extra special labor day weekend on a Sunday here the sixth day of September. And we're about to make some history on the mailbag. And without further ado, for the first time in the history of the mailbag we have. The first ever, I can't believe I'm saying this, but we're doing it. Thank God for technology. The first ever round robin on the mailbag. We welcome in our celebrity panel from all over the United States who have assembled here to form Voltron on the fifth hour podcast.

First of all, let's welcome in from Tennessee. Now, I always butcher the name of the town he's in, but he's outside Knoxville. He's been to six Maller meet and greets. The man, the myth, the legend JT the wingman. Hello, JT. Oh, good. Hello, Ben. It is great to talk to you and it's severe bill. severe bill. Okay, you're leaving for weather. It's real, severe bill. It's real simple or you just say the smokey mountains. Good enough. I like the smokey mountains. I like that. Now, JT has been great over the years. He's from Wisconsin and he hides it very well unless he doesn't. He appreciates cultures and in Florida. Believe it or not, after all of the chatter and all the speculation and being unable to get the Zoom app. We welcome in from Hollywood, Florida, a legend in the Maller, militia, a man that survived a hurricane while broadcasting from a lifeguard tower in Miami.

Weat man hippie. My Ben, I'm so happy to be here. I love you so much and you're sitting my life. I love you so much. I'm not saving you my bag. I think Lisa is with you as well. Is that correct? So this is technically we have one not mine. Hi. Hi Lisa. All right. So this is great. Now we're up to four people. How many people does it take to do a mail back? Now we, man, I want you to know. All right. We have no budget for this podcast. Okay. But I went, we got a gizmo, which obviously apparently is working. We'll find out. And this is unbelievable how well it's working. That's so very, there's some things in the room. And now JT is probably jealous because he's figured out soon. So he's able to do this. This is probably recorded. Oh my god. Who's recording this phone? Wait a minute. How are you recording this phone? Come on. How dare you? That in the dollar. I don't hear any fireworks. Hopefully they're just fireworks and not something else. But all right. Let's get to the mail back. First up, these are actual questions by actual listeners.

We thank everyone that wrote in this week. Real 5 hour at GM. I do hear something actually. I hear that. Is that fire? There's no. I'm sure. You're still 5 hour at GM. I do hear something actually. I hear that. Is that fire? There's no. It's amazing. How long have you been doing mail bags? I'm in fire works. It was fire. Marika. Marika. Marika. Marika. Marika. Marika. Marika. Marika. Marika. Marika. Marika. Marika. Marika. Marika. Marika. Marika. Marika. Marika. Marika. Marika. It's only one Pool Rock concert tonight. Reji. Reggie. It says he was also picnolệtdaing at Deadly Four Fair. And His title holds Rock Tie at Hollywood Пол The

I got it. I make a dime and I'm talking. Well, calm down, we made he actually works. He's got a $15,000 a month gig scratching people's itches. He's got tools. I brought. Yeah, yeah. So he's hired all women and he puts like special nails on them or what? I don't know. It's hard to just. So he's more than fireball. Hope you enjoy it. You're going there scratching. I think it's done. I don't I don't know that it's full service. We've been but it's it's China. There are different rules there. But they built a business around professional itch scratching and he's got two locations. I wrote the higher all women makes $15,000 a month. He's trying to start a hundred. All right, calm down, we've been so JT there's a market for anything. Reggie asked if I would leave for $15,000 a month. My God, I would be very tempting tonight.

Although that's only women are doing this, but you imagine 15 grand a month. And all you're doing is scratching people's itches. That's. I would come down. We made JT go ahead, JT, please. I would just be afraid that the people are looking for something a little more than that. You know, the old I kind of happy ending things. He's like, it'd be coming in real close. Yeah, yeah, the robber craft. The exactly. Yeah. But 15. Yeah. That's one of the workers. All right. Next next. Thank you, Reggie. Next up is what do we got here? This is Mike from parts unknown did not sign his name. And he says, Hey, Ben, do you think Doc Mike was behind this study? So there was a fairly study done in regarding Mount Everest. And the, you guys saw this or not. Human urine is melting away.

Oh, Doc Mike. Science is believed that human yours responsible for a huge amount of Mount Everest glacier melting away. Researchers there. This is wild. They're claiming 6,000 liters of urine a day. I'm not. I'm not. 15 hundred gallons. That's a lot of we that's a lot of piss. That is a lot. Researchers claim, well, they say, but they're trying to push back on this because they're rather client. They always love to go with the climate change, but this is different here. They found that the urine situation. They have like a temporary city there at Mount Everest because so many people love to climb Mount Everest like a family people are climbing now every that could possibly happen in life. I don't I'm not one of them we've met. I don't know how many people are they say every. Oh, here we hear some numbers. I got the story in front of me. Thanks to my heart. I don't know about that.

Everest Base Camp operated roughly 1600 tents. This is those tents. I never got to know. Yeah, this apparently these Sherpas are kind of like camels. They must hold a lot of liquid in them. You're saying I ain't given one million times 1600 people climbing Everest? No, no, I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that that it operated roughly. This was during the 50 day spring seasons. I guess it depends on what happens. It's not. No, no, no, I'm saying that that it's certain parts of the year the weather's better. So people climb it. So yeah, they this is wild though. Because urine leaves the body warm. Researchers calculated that the thermal energy could theoretically melt about 154 tons of ice.

And so how can you test ridiculous that's impossible? That's not true. So what is your science degree, weed man? Yeah, I know. You know, I'm going to keep it up until any mountain Everest. You think me on the side of a mountain. It's not going to melt for mountains. Just giving the story. I don't I'm trying to get to the bottom of this year. Let's see. It says I'm buying computer your logical perspective. Well, researchers emphasize that you know, they brought up climate change again. Bizarre urine finding illustrating how putting a temporary city with generators, heaters, kitchens and thousands of people directly on a glacier. Obviously it localizes the melting the base camp. They said moving the base camp to stable ground should eventually be considered.

Okay. So JT here you a climb. All calm down. We can't. I can't see him a climber. However, you know, I did go to graduate school for physics back in a day. And I studied thermodynamics. I had a class in thermodynamics and I get part of the science. But the numbers don't seem to really add up for me. And I don't think we're going to be really worried about watching the yellow wave fly down a mountain Everest. Anything soon. All right. It says unlike solid waste, which is generally collected and carried away much of the urine is discharged directly on the glacier. All right. You know, this is just. All right. Like, I'm visualizing yellow snow, yellow. Hey, really. I think we should celebrate. We should sell me. You know, I know. Well, I know, but I think we should celebrate the work as humans. We have something very powerful are urine. This is great. Right. I mean, come on.

We can take that. Yeah. From the urine, it's same clumped in the story of mountain. Well, just how many it doesn't matter how many at the same time is if there's a thousand people up there, how many times is the average person go to the mountain Everest at the stand. Never going to climb Mount Everest. I'm never going to be. I have no idea. I'm never going to be there. Kevin and Kansas rates in on a mail back. This is crazy. Oh, my God. I'm like, you make me sound like a dizzy building. I'm not. Well, I've been before you go on the only thing that could top that for Doc Mike is a bunch of goats head started floating down the mountain to me. Oh, my God. Good old. Doc's Doc's Doc my semi retired from college show. He does not call me every week anymore, which is good, but he'll still check in from time to time, Doc Mike. Kevin and Kansas, right since this dear Ben and special home slice or in this case slices with JT the wingman and we've got weed man and Lisa.

Look at this. This is a celebrity panel round robin edition. He says this past week, I was visiting family and Phoenix and we were able to stop at buckies. I had to force myself not to buy any beaver nuggets because they wouldn't have survived the 15 minute drive home. What food do you have to ban from your diet because you know it will test yourself control? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I've been anything. I. My thing is I eat once a day, usually on the weekends. I'll eat more than once, but you know what I mean? Aren't you baby? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. It's a intermittent fasting because I. I need to try some day. I heard we did, but. Oh, most people eat three times. JT do you eat three times a day? Yeah. I, yeah, eat at least three meals a day. I do like to snack a little. When I'm on my keto diet, I always I do snack on a lot of like peanuts or some kind of nuts that. What kind of day do you eat then? I usually eat when I'm watching the early baseball games or basketball.

Whatever. If I usually, you know, here in LA, the games start like four o'clock. So. Yeah, but I, I sleep during the day because I work overnight. So I'm, I'm sleeping. I'll get up and then I'll, I do you a lot of water. I fill my stomach with water. So that's my thing. And. What is your sleeping agent that I always wonder when do you sleep? It's kind of a thing we're listening to. You've got to sleep, we'd man. You got to sleep. I. It's better. I swear to God to you. I feel. I can tell you how long I had my shirt on. Oh, I'm checking. I'm. All right. That does not seem possible. I'm curious. I usually sleep somewhere from like 630 to like 11 or something like that. It's a small. Sometimes if I'm feeling frisky, I'll sleep till noon. What about you? I can't do anything. I'm, I can't. I'll, I'll, I'll just go to bed. You have, you have kind of. You're a driver, right? You drive around. Yeah, I'm a driver. I am kind of a, I de, I've a kind of weird sleep pattern.

You know, I work for, I do work technically for a shift. So I typically go to bed like nine o'clock. Eastern time, of course. And I get up at 330 in the morning. And that gets me in just in time during the middle of just our number two of the show. So I lived in the second half hour, two till the beginning of the show and I start work right literally as the show was ending. All right, so you're up, well, you're about that is a crazy schedule. And we've been, I'd ask you when you sleep, but you don't sleep, so I don't need to. I'm not being honest with them. I never, I'm not going to sleep. The game tells you the last time I ever slept. I had to tell them, I'm really almost like, I can't imagine that. Well, it's good for me that, yeah. Yeah, wait. You're also watching YouTube videos most of the time. I'll be free. So good. My, my wife is so wasted. I cannot tell you how I reach my wife. No, this is, this is the death. He's my son. I can't tell you how long since I'm on the phone with you.

You're going to be in my right. I swear to God, the time of death. That's not true. You got Lisa. And here's the thing. We, man, listen, you're still, you're alive. You can change your story. You're always as long as you're alive. You can change your story. I have a time. I don't have anything to do. This is the closest thing I have to do. I know. All right. And Lisa, do you have normal hours? You're on the phone with him all night, though. Lisa, right? I mean, you guys are all people. Okay. All right. I assume you have normal schedule, right? Lisa. I call you. Okay. You wanted to know when I sleep. Do you have like a normal schedule? Like you are normal or are you up late at night? Yes. No, I sleep from midnight to about 4.45 am. Okay. I got you. For example, when we've mad calls me for your show, which is unfair. A couple days a week. I, for a dog, right? Sin from Fullerton. He says, hello, Ben. Hi, Fergie. And don't know and encourage him. Hello, Ben and anyone, but Robbie.

I hope. Wow. Well, you'll be very happy because we have a round robin here with, as you've been listening to. So with, with JT and, and weed man and Lisa. And Fergie, I says, Ben, I don't like the complaint. But I have to say I found last Saturday's episode very misleading when I saw it was named white whale. I instantly got excited that it would be a replay of the most elusive, greatest guest in the history of the fifth hour. Brian Billick, no matter how much I liked the episode, it was never going to match the excitement of coach Billitch interview. Yeah, that we did spend a lot of time with trying to track down Brian Billick. Anyway, he says, he says, you're talk with Bernie Frodo on Friday. It was definitely not a let down at least. I do wish you guys were a bit kinder to my favorite sports league, the WNB, though. I'm sure for a guy. One thing that came up in the interview was how much prep you guys both do for your show. I know you've had issues with your notes before during Mel and Monologues without anybody

noticing, have you ever considered doing a completely no prep show to see if listeners would still notice? I think it would be a fun test. Well, I would love that. Just roll in there and not do any prep. My life would be if I only had to do four hours and not have to do any prep, that would be great. But I know I'd feel guilty. So I don't think I, I mean, I've had to do it before because things have happened with my computer and or if I travel, you know, these things pop up. No, you know, Ben, I told about that that you'd have to, that you'd probably do the most prep for your show every night. I thought about that. Yeah, yeah. No, it's not. People think you just show up and do four hours, but it's a lot of stuff that goes into it prior to the four hours. The easiest part. Yeah, the easiest part's the four hours. That's the easy part. Getting ready. You have to knock out. You have to knock out. We might log. Yeah, yeah. I put pull the points down for every monologue. I got a lot of stuff in front of me and I got. Oh, I don't know. Yeah. You do. I do. I do. No, that's tremendous sucking up weed, man. I appreciate that. No, but there's a lot of, listen, I'm sure JT when you're, when you have, right?

You have. That's part of the beauty of what I do for the most part. I really don't have to do a lot of prep. Unless there are a few things that I have to haul that have a little more work involved for the most part with my job. It's part of the beauty is I go to work. I just do it. And when I'm done, I get to go. It's pretty much part work doesn't follow me home and I love that. Yeah, my, my job follows me like I just watching a bunch of college football all day on Saturday and on the NFL starting this week. So it's always, there's always something I don't necessarily. We don't really break the games down very much unless they're playoff games, but I still feel like I need to watch them for some reason. I enjoy watching them. I, there are some days I don't enjoy watching them, but for the most part, I do. And my wife has a similar job. She does not need to do any prep for her work. So she kind of shows up and then which is great. Here you go. It's just week. Yeah, Wednesday night, NFL, the Seahawks and the Patriots and then Thursday, the Rams and 49ers from what Australia, right?

So it's going to be a much better career. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think, I think 49ers Rams, you think Australia. When I was 14 years old, I was kidnapped and health captive for nine months. I survived and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them. I'm Elizabeth Smart and these are the survivor files. I just remember this low taunting voice next to my ear saying, shut up, don't say anything. Every week I'm with survivors who live through the unthinkable. I knew if he woke up without a doubt, he was going to hurt me. I started feeling that there was someone at the end of my bed and I just started screaming. They are abducted, stalked, controlled and nearly silenced. But these aren't stories about what's taken from them. Their stories about what it takes to make it out alive. Listen to the survivor files with Elizabeth Smart on the I Heart Radio app Apple Podcasts

or wherever you get your podcasts. On the new podcast, Solita, we share the message. I can see reality of traveling alone as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle. I choose option B. I'm Julie Piñero and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word Solita, trading the pity for possibility. Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people and they were like, you smiled at us, not a lot of people smile around here. It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies your soul about it. It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind or wake up to a new version of yourself. So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip, I hope you listen to Solita on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.

Our town is small taters by most standards, right? But to the people who grew up here, it's everything. What happens when a quiet Tennessee town becomes the front line in a battle over the future of America? Developers with right wing ties have purchased hundreds of acres of land in the area. The first thing you see when it pops up is high nears and apple etch. But they weren't just planning houses. We need cities on a shining hill that exemplify and embody the Christian way of life. Stop right there. Is that normal? A podcast about what happens when a small town becomes the site of a social experiment. God need men to rule. And decides to fight back. Do not use my hard work to sell your bull. They're not just opposing what's being planned for here. Our hometown is not a test too. They feel like they're standing in opposition to an entire administration. Guess you didn't move in on a bunch of dumb hillbillies now, did you? Listen to our town on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.

You know the feeling. You make a pick in your fantasy draft in the entire room groans because they wanted that player. Or you grab a small school rookie off waivers and you start him right before he goes off in prime time. There's no better feeling than crushing your fantasy football league. I'm JJ Zacharyson, host of the late round fantasy football podcast. Before your draft are players to target and players to avoid episodes tell you exactly who to circle and who to cross off. We've got data driven analysis, historical trends and the strategies that separate winners from the rest. And your dominance doesn't stop with the draft. All season long, we have our 15 transactions, 10 trends, sleepers and the mail back. We've got data driven, quick hitting episodes to help bring home that league trophy. Listen to the late round fantasy football podcast on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. College football will hijack your weekend, ruin your sleep and break your heart.

And that's why we make the Sullivan-verbal college football show. I'm Ty Hildenbrand. He's Dan Rubenstein. How's it going? Every week we preview the games that matter, sort through the biggest storylines and tell you what to watch before kickoff. There's a lot to keep track of. Who's for real? Which upset is hiding in plain sight and which storyline is about to take over your group chat? And when the games are over, join us in the aftermath too. We're going to react to what happened, talk about the biggest results, of course we'll cover the playoff picture and all the little details you might have missed while flipping between like 12 games at once. So you know every coach and coordinator or just want to understand why everybody is yelling. We're here to help make sense of the madness. Listen to the solid verbal college football show on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Al from the editing room writes and he says greetings Ben and spin the wheel of gas.

That's Jay T. the wing man and the man the myth of ledger right over there. Our friend weed man and Lisa met out by the way, Jay, you were not able to make it the one in. Yeah, that was a bummer. I would love to meet Elf yet hopefully maybe maybe one of these days I'll get to I'm sure you'll be back in Boston again. That does seem to be a pretty frequent landing spot for you. I would certainly like to get there. Yeah, we do we do well in boss. We always have a good crowd there. Have fun. Anyway, says Ben, you recently spoke on your of your new tech toys. But what happened to your old toys? Do you remember specifically the one that your original stick in the mud producer shunned you from using your sound effect board? Yeah, I we did F around with when the fifth hour years ago, I used to play a lot of sound effects and crap and it didn't sound as good. I don't know. I had fun with it, but then I just started playing buttons and it's you know, kind of got away from it. So it's better without it. I when I have sound effect boards in front of me, I just hit everything.

I everything's funny to me. I it's not great. But now, but the latest gizmo, which I think we've been this is your favorite gizmo that allows me to do the fifth hour podcast with a we have normally we do it on zoom. We still have you know, JT's on zoom right now, but we've been just on the regular phone. So yeah, this I'm so. I'm used to do W. I know no, I haven't done that since 20's 2018. I think that's been. It's not a lot. I used to call you up and love you. E out. Yeah, yeah, I did the night show. I by filled in at night for your two years 20. Yeah, 2017, 2018. And that's so wrong now. I can't leave this in years ago. I know, I know it's crazy. And then yeah, well, what happened? They love me over there, but what happened? Our radio show got picked up by the rival station in Boston. So I couldn't their competitors.

So I couldn't work it. You know, I because we're on the sports hub. So I came a bit of a kerfluffle. But for your night show was not on Wini, I bet then. No, it was. I'm saying, but we switched affiliates in Boston. So that's for the. Yeah, but I had a great time. It was fun. Everyone, I love doing the show. I like it. No, it gives me a little. But I was doing the Red Sox post game show. How crazy is that? I was doing Red Sox review. That was insane. Yeah, people were leaving Finway calling me up, asking me about the game. All right. Oh, what else? He got the Scott from Florida writes in on a round robin mail. But this is amazing. Every bug of this. Yeah, JT, the wingman. We got weed man. Lisa is quite crazy. All right. Anyway, we're great. Lisa, you're there, right? Yes. At least it's like what she was about to go to bed. I think anyone has a fitness question.

I'll answer. All right. Lisa is a fitness professional. Oh, what do you want? She's a guru. All right. Scott says sometimes, Scott and forces sometimes I ask people this question because I always have a strong opinion on it. So I will ask you because it is once again relevant. Who do you believe is the richest idiot in the world in the history of Microsoft only one CEO? He wants milk. He's on the work almost $5 trillion. $800 million now. That was not his question. We met. He said the richest idiot in the world. He says in the history of Microsoft only one CEO jumped around stage like a teenager in heat, sweating and yelling like a deranged lunatic overseeing a stock price that fell around 30% during his 14 year tenure. His company's stock price has literally gone straight up with any other CEO aside from the Lucky Spurm club members. Wow. Do you know someone more financially successful with less talent than Steve Balmer in the world? Wow. What else? Do Balmer is a cold down the Michael Schultz.

No, but I mean, he's saying that Scott's, Scott's pointing out that the stock went down. He's the guy weed man that got on stage. I know you know the story, JT. He got on stage and started screaming about how no one's going to buy the iPhone, you know, that's too expensive. I'm going to be good. He says the rich man is the idiot. Yeah. I mean, I've been lucky. I've met a lot of rich people. I don't really give them an IQ test or whatever. I don't know. I just kind of treat everyone the same. So I don't really know if they're smart or not. I mean, if you hear stories about people that just kind of got lucky at the right time, I know people don't have a lot of money just to go into the cell and go to some now. Yeah, a lot of people inherited. You know, like it's all about that Mark Cuban who owns, you still on the Mavericks, but Mark sold audio, like an audio website in the early days of the internet. And Parrish dot Tom Mark Cuban. Yeah, I believe that's it. And he made a good zillion.

I got a ton of money. And it was him and his partner. So I'm good for him. He came up with something that was a value, but I don't know. It's hard to say who's you have anybody JT any rich guy that you think's a complete dullard. Anyone come to mind? I mean, not that really stumbling. Obviously that it's sometimes people just seem to walk into this money. And a lot of usually it's always the second generation of, you know, generational wealth. And by the time he gets the third, usually it's pretty chaotic and either blow it or whatever. So if they're fools, you know, a fool in their money, it's usually gone by the third generation. Yeah, we see that in sports with ownership, like the second third family that owns a team, like look at the rate. Yeah, look at the jets. Yeah, the jets. Yeah, look at the jet. Are you going to go? Johnson's right. Yeah, the Lakers with Jeannie Bosse. I guess she's going to sell it. What happened with the lake? What happened with the Lakers? But Jeannie Bosse also said, a thugus in Peru. So originally she sold the Mark Walter who then sold to this other, I guess, um, what's

this guy? Trump's buddy's friend or brother, a Kushner, not the one in the White House, the other guy. And then, yes. And the Barricut Miss Trump show. Well, it's is no, see, other, what's the guy's name? I forget the, all these Kushners are the same. I don't know. The, the, yeah, exactly. So yeah, Jeannie's in a lawsuit now to try to keep a small percentage of the Lakers. It's a, you know, family, man, you fight over money. I, this, this happened. People died. You fight over money. That's what happens, man. I've had, in my family, I'm my, my, one of my aunts passed away. There was a big, big mess with relatives. It sucks. I hate that. Barry from Chattanooga, tennis. How far is Chattanooga from you? Uh, strangely enough, Ben. I was in Chattanooga today. Went to Chattanooga whiskey distilling company at a blast. That's great. I, it's about an hour, it's about an hour and a half. Okay. All right. Yes. I actually have a relative that lives not far from you, JT.

My, you know, in law family type things. So I want to get done. I want to go to Chattanooga just because I love, you know, the Chattanooga to chew chew when I was a kid, you know, we were, and I was in the, I was actually in that, you know, Chattanooga from, uh, I wasn't in for a 20s. My age a kid. Chattanooga to chew chew. Come on. That's about to legendary. Actually, and they're, they're minor league ballpark or they're minor league ball team has, in my opinion, one of the best logos ever, those two little eyes, the lookouts love. That's cool. That's cool. Anyway, uh, he, uh, Barry says yo yo, Ma Beni and, uh, and, and just friend, uh, he found. This is crazy because he found Barry a copy. It's not a great copy, but it's a copy of Jerry Jones talking about circumcising a mosquito. We've been trying to put this audio. Me some glory hole. Yeah. Well, that we got that. But that, yeah, Jerry, this audio is like for some reason, in almost impossible to find.

I have no idea how Barry found it. And it's not worth that, but I think storage. It was talking about in skill. It was like 10 years ago. He was talking about Tony Romo and then there was something about the injury and everyone's. If I remember correctly, it was like Romo, they were asking questions and he was like, he's like, I was like circumcising a mosquito, meaning, you know, microscopically, analyzing everything. So thank you, Jerry Jones. Well, he's one thing he's not as poor. Quang writes in from parts unknown as all kinds of bells and I don't know. You're into human. Yeah. I don't know. I don't know. He's doing sound effects. No, I'm not doing that. I don't know. Somebody's doing something. You guys are killing me. I'm thinking it's you, we've been Quang, uh, a big man. Quang says big Ben. Uh, this email was originally for your return. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. He says first, tennis legend, Martina Navratilova is featured in, oh, he's some documentaries. He says, Chris and Martina, the final set, he recommended to watch that a Netflix documentary

exploring the remarkable careers and friendship of Chris Everett and Martina Navratilova. Yeah. It's like, I don't know. I, you guys are probably around my age. The tennis back in the 80s, man. You had, you had, you're being right now that the genius and serena played a limbo tune. You had a ton of generative macaroni about lendle. What's that? Well, great doubles. Yeah. Yeah, I know, I know, but I'm something like the old school like, uh, well, John McEnroe and uh, Jimmy John or Zee Vaughn lendle. Yeah. You know, the tennis back in the 80s. Nobody gave a board to me. The board was the best. I used to see homework both in July and last and at Wendleton. I loved you on board. All right. I didn't, I didn't have that. Oh, yeah, you were working at flowing air. Yeah. Well, listen, everyone, uh, then he says, uh, what else on the documentary? He says the, the AI doc or how I became in blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. It's on peacock. So it's about artificial intelligence.

Uh, anyways, his big Ben, uh, when you're traveling, you are a documentary guy or do you prefer to completely shut down, uh, shut off your brain and watch something mindless. Uh, yeah, I didn't watch much TV in Vegas. We were out doing stuff. Uh, I mean, you don't really go there and watch TV in Vegas. So, uh, I was just crying. It was quiet. It was quiet. It was off the dude without TV. Now, weed man, JT, the wingman's been to six of these meat and greets. How many have you been to weed man? I was saying, I wish I had money. I don't have any trouble with my food. I wish I had a coffee. I'm fine. I'm fine. Maybe we'll come to Miami or something. We'll do it in Miami. But you even have a whole new home, bro. We can have a coach. I was just in the lowest thing right now. All right. All right. Calm down. Why'd you say JT? What were you saying? I said Florida meat and greets. We can have weed man. We can have coach Russell. I know there's a couple other characters out of a, out of Florida that have 10 to 12. So, we do well. We, that means, never tell you something. The older gentleman that can't sleep loved the show.

So we'd be very popular and full. Angry bill. We need to angry build. Can you imagine that? I'm out of meat and greets. I thought he was going to show up to the one in South Carolina. There were rumors. But he was very angry at that time with me. So I was concerned, actually. He was like, even even even even Jerome didn't show up. But it was down. I know. I know. I know. I know. You showed up. Yeah. Anyway. Well, here's an email from JT the women. I guess we'll skip over that one. I think I think because you're on the show, JT. Oh, you know, it's a pretty good one this week. All right. I'll ask weed man. He says, as I reflect on the excitement of last week's Malar Mean, Greaten Vegas, I couldn't help but wonder. Do you have a favorite utensil? I am quite fond of the dinner fork, but can certainly respect the utility of the spork and the thrill of cutting food with other and other objects with a good steak knife that certainly has its own merits as well. The butter knife to me is like an Oreo cookie without enough cream

filling. It just doesn't get the job done. And then he wants to know about that. Our opinion. So weed man, I will defer to you. Weed man. This is a question from the great JT the wingman from let me see here. Oh, this one. It doesn't look like you. It's me. Good cutting. I. Two nice forks. A plastic block. A spoon. Two spoons. One spoon I used to care for. And that's about it. I'm good. I'm good like that. All right. I would I'd say I love the sport because it's so unique. I don't I only get it when I get fast food though. Like you don't I don't have it at the go-savvies, but the alcohol bill always has a sport for real. Mash potatoes. And then you can also you have a KFC. Yeah. Yeah, they do. They do. Yeah, she I haven't had any KFC in very long time. I miss it. Why why do you go eat some?

There's no KFC around here. All right. It's not in the downed around here either. Do you have a bite weed man? I do envision a problem. No, no, no, no. You can't try to eat chicken. I don't want to eat. I hope you look at that. Oh, I say JT brings up a good point. Go ahead JT. Weed man. How are you going to eat chicken off the bone without your teeth because your teeth as we know have been long lost. That's a great question. Every week, I'm with survivors who live through the unthinkable. I knew if he woke up without a doubt he was going to hurt me. I started feeling that there was someone at the end of my bed

and I just started screaming. They are abducted, stalked, controlled and nearly silenced. But these aren't stories about what's taken from them. Their story is about what it takes to make it out alive. Listen to the survivor files with Elizabeth Smart on the iHeartRadio app Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. On the new podcast, Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle. I choose option B. I'm Julie Bignero and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word Solita, trading the pity for possibility. Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people and they were like, you smiled at us, not a lot of people smile around here. It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is

and not the lies you're sold about it. It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind, or wake up to a new version of yourself. So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip, I hope you listen to Solita on the iHeartRadio app Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Our town is small taters by most standards right, but to the people who grew up here it's everything. What happens when a quiet Tennessee town becomes the front line in a battle over the future of America? Developers with right wing ties have purchased hundreds of acres of land in the area. The first thing you see when it pops up is high nears and apple etchum. But they weren't just planning houses. We need cities on a shining hill that exemplify and embody the Christian way of life. Stop right there, is that normal? A podcast about what happens when a small town becomes the site of a social experiment. Got any mental rule and decides to fight back.

Do not use my hard work to sell your bulls***. They're not just opposing what's being planned for here. Our hometown is not a test to. They feel like they're standing in opposition to an entire administration. I guess you didn't move in on a bunch of dumb hillbillies now did you? Listen to our town on the iHeart Radio app Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. College football will hijack your weekend, ruin your sleep and break your heart. Listen to the Solid-Verbal College football show on the iHeart Radio App, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. You know the feeling. You make a pick in your fantasy draft in the entire room groans because they wanted that player. Or you grab a small school rookie off waivers and you start in right before he goes off in primetime. There's no better feeling than crushing your fantasy football league. I'm JJ Zacharyson, host of the Late Round Fantasy Football Podcast. Before your draft, our players to target and players to avoid episodes tell you exactly who to circle and who to cross off. You know, I have 13 keys in my mouth. I have 26 that you should have. I can eat with half my keys. I can fill you from clicking. All right, all right. Thank God. Hello, Lou. I'm from Arizona, writes in. He says, Ben, do you think this is a relative of Genie and Medford or Beardring, Brian? And it's the story this week, Dylan sent 70,000 pints of Guinness were stolen in a massive beer house in the UK. From an industrial estate in the UK, roughly 70,000 pints, two trailers were stolen.

So yeah, I'm sure that's like a second cousin of a beer drinking Brian. Is there a black market for that? How much can you get on? How much does 70,000 pints of Guinness get? It's very strong. Not to drink it. Which I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I remember being back in my, when I was a first getting my CDL 13 years ago, I remember a topic we, they talked about how important it is to have your freight secured. And that certain types of loads like when you get a load of like cigarettes or something like that, that's very easily to resell, that that stuff's under really tight security. And so that obviously gets to its end place and the correct end place. Yeah, I would thanks for sure. For sure. Next up is a, I don't know what else to say, Dylan, but thank you for that. Abe in Sunday. Yeah, go right. And he says, hello, Ben. And, you know, whoever, I wanted to, especially thank you and everybody at the past Saturday, Malar, meet and greet the stakeout was very glad to be in Las Vegas this past weekend, make time to attend and meet along among others.

Ben Lee, Lorraine, Mrs. Malar, Slog and others. I think JT as well. I had a very lively time and a much more appreciative perspective of your work and efforts in the radio land where I am at my pets. I spend a lot of time in the evenings and overnight. Unfortunately, I missed the group photo had to speed off a little early without much of a proper goodbye. That's an Irish goodbye Abe. I like the Irish goodbye in order to make a UNLV football pregame event. I was going to I knew this going in that I would be cutting it close, but please let everyone know at a great time. Blah blah blah blah. All right. Well, thank you. Thank you. Did anybody did anybody with money in Vegas? I did. I lost less than $100. So I was pretty happy. That's a win. If you lose less than a hundred. I wonder what game and yes. I am. And I still got a couple of futures bets out there. So you did. And you shake it. You're under your great. Yeah, I am our friend.

What's the what's the amount of supermarket Steve? I think he won some money. I think he did. Did. Yeah, I think he was. Yeah, super. Yes, he was there the whole thing. Matt in Austin writes and he says, Ben, how many lawsuits are going to come from the heat at the game on Saturday? I guess I don't know if you guys saw this or not. So this is a big thing. So there was extreme heat Texas beat Texas state 59 to seven on Saturday. But parametrile. No, that's not the story we've been paramedics and that were were in the stands rushing into the stands with stretchers. People were overcome by the heat at Darrell. Yeah, the game started at 2.30 p.m. local time in Austin. And so they got like a hundred thousand people, whatever it is there. The forecast said 97 degrees, but conditions were expected to feel about a hundred and seven. Interact sunlight. And these people are drinking. They're standing out there. Fans were seeking shelter and shade medical personnel, tending to people suffering from the heat.

And so they went to the point of the down. What about the family? They'll come in the fans. We'd better. I'm sorry. Do you think the players are going down? It's like sitting in a flying pan. You know, you've been in these games and the hot weather. It's brutal. It's a. It was a bit warm. That's for sure. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They had four designated cooling states. I don't know, Matt. I'm sure there'll be lawsuits. People will be lawsuits. People sue for everything, right? That's what people do. They file lawsuits. So I. Here in Tennessee this week, they actually, you know, it was going to. They had air conditioning. Calm down, we made it. I get you go ahead. It was a warmest week. Yesterday was actually the warmest day of the year in Knoxville. And the football teams took took a cue from FIFA and they had hydration breaks during the Friday night football games. Oh, man. Crazy. Oh, that is crazy. Well, we met you're in Miami. But it never doesn't. It never go like 100 degrees in Miami, right?

It's always. No, you see every night you see the danger areas on the map. I'm with news. And it's never Miami. And my am is never 100 in my days and some puts in the country. But it's always warm in Miami. It's just never. Yeah. Yeah. It's warm. All right. Never like over 100. All right. Ryan in shrewsbury. Mass writes. And he says, hey, Ben and special guests or whatever. I've been away for a while, but I've been keeping up with the podcast. We have had a family tragedy. My beloved father-in-law sadly passed away on August 21 after a brief battle with cancer, me and the wife. Merchard, you know, we'll be doing a cancer walk October 4th in Boston. Sticking with this sad topic, Ryan says, do you think there will ever be a cure for the terrible disease? This terrible disease or do you think there is a cure, but keeping it away from the public? That's from from right. Yeah, well, I'm not a doctor. I can play one on the radio.

But from what I understand, the problem is there it's cancer is not one thing. It's like, you know, people's like Africa. There's a million countries in Africa. Cancer is not just one thing. It's a bunch of different types of as I understand it. I lost my mom to cancer. So it's a. Yeah. Yeah. It's a terrible thing. I've lost several relatives to it. So it's it's brutal. Yeah. But it's not as I understand it. It's not just one thing. And they have been able to solve some of some of the cancers. And it's like as a as a man like prostate cancer, you get screen. You can it is preventative in that they can catch it early. And it's not that big of deal and all that stuff. So like there are certain things like that. I don't. Yeah. Like the conspiracy. I don't think that they have the the cure for. Have they come on to scary scary thing when I think about dying. I heart attacks in cancer. The only thing I think you'll people these days.

Well, there's other things too, but yeah, yeah, no, but I got it. And I believe the conspiracy more that there's a way to run cars on water. I believe that more than I believe there's a famous. Oh, no, no, I mean. Back back. JT the way maybe remember the story back in the old days. There was a guy supposedly came up with a way to run a car on one water. And then he. He got he got whacked, I guess. That was the. You see those Internet. You see those Internet. Oh, no, I never. This is. I'm down. No, I'm down. We may go ahead. JT. Yes. Yeah. You see I'll see those things every once in a while online. That you can plug in something to like the. The data port near car and you'll increase your gas mileage to 150 miles per gallon. I like it. But this was real. Everybody would know about. Well, yeah, the conspiracy is like the oil companies were like they. If that'll kill their business, right? If you can run. It's on water, then why would you need oil?

And that would destroy the global. The. But you can run. For anything but gas. That's insane. Well, you would think you would be able to. I mean, you can run a car and like, Chris. I don't know. Oh, no. All right. Let's do a couple more. We've gotten very long here. You guys are so great. I love you both. All right. And Lisa is well. I love all you. All right. Now, Joey from LA writes in. Have enjoyed your show for many years. You living in SoCal. I saw a clip from your show was used on Pablo Torres YouTube show on the Dodgers, and Magic Johnson. Did you know he was going to use it? And are you friends with him? That's from Joey in LA. No, I had no idea he was going to use it. And I have never met him in my life. I'm happy that did. Wow. That was that. They got a lot of attention on Friday. But no, I didn't. I don't. They didn't ask. I don't think they asked for permission. They just said courtesy of the Ben Mallor Show on there. And they use like a small clip. It was not a. Not a big thing. But thanks for noticing, Joey. I appreciate that. Any publicity we can get. We have no marketing budget. No marketing budget. Kyle from Indiana writes since as many watching your YouTube videos have noticed a bunch of different hats.

How do you decide which hat to wear per night? Can listeners send in hats? What size are you? Blah blah blah. Yes, Kyle. I don't get any mail. The only person who gets mail now is Lorraine. She's the only one that gets mail. None of us are allowed to get mail other than Lorraine. She's got hot girl privileges. So I used to get hats all the time. I'm a size eight hour. And I love minor league hats. I love hats with B on them. I love local businesses supporting local businesses mom and pop businesses and all that. I, you know, like I said, anything is good. Kyle also says big fan here in the Hoosier State. You should come here and do a meet and greet. I would love to do that. Kyle. We don't have an endless budget. I will do. Why don't we do one more here? One more. And this is a little round robin here. Everybody's involved here. Marshall from Colorado writes in. And he says a snoop dog is hiring for the world's greatest job. Hey, this could be your gig, weed man. He says that. All right. He says apparently this is a real gig. And it's not just the publicity stunt.

According to the New York Post, Snoop Dogg's doctor, Bombay ice cream brand is hiring its first international ice cream taster. The pay is $10,000 per month for three months, $30,000. I'm going to get the job. I'm going to get the job. Get the job. Get the job. Get the job. Get the job. Get the job. Get the job. Get the job. Get the job. He says he's a big tobacco. Get it. Get the job. Get the job. Get idiot. Get the job. Get the job. Get the job. Get the job. Get it. Get the job. Get it. That's what I wanted to tell you. It's a good thing to say. Get the job. You know, when you get a job in a business, you have to pay $10,000 per month. You know, when you get a job, you have to pay $10,000 per month. No, not very often. Is weed man getting excited about a job? I know right, it's an independent contracted position. The mission is essentially taste ice cream travel. Discover trends. Challennie, that. I'm asking why you're joking. All right, all right. I'm just checking. I got you 30.

All right. Applications open in late August. So they will stay open for a couple of months. It's still over. I'll try to find a link. We've been I'll send you a link. How about that? I'm great. You imagine JT if you can. No problem. They'll just email him back. Good luck with that. That's your point. It sounds like working in Berk and Auburn store. JT brings up a good point. You don't have email, we'd man. How are you going to apply for the job? You have to have an email address to apply for the job, buddy. Yeah, you know, that's all. Lisa, you'll do that, OK? All right, but that's not her response. You're how old you we then? My God, all right. Anyway, we'll get out. Listen, I love you both. It's a holiday weekend. You guys, we record this at an odd time. We had to wake JT up here. And what are we doing? Well, we're not picking up weed, man. This is the wrap up here. Yeah, JT, do you have anything you want to promote? JT, the way, man, I'll let you go first. And I just, hey, I'm just looking forward to the next being greeted. It'll be number seven. Seeing you last week was fantastic, man.

We'd man getting to speak with you one on one for the first time. Another pleasure. And another first, it's been a great night and really appreciate this. Or good morning, of course, because it's Sunday. That's right. All right. And we, man, anything you want to promote, we've man, anything at all. I just know, just know, I used to do television show for years in my life. And the only thing I love doing in my life is talking to people and loving people and showing people the better side of life, the life is good and happy. It's always good and happy. And this is like the only chance I've ever gotten in this part of my life to do anything like this. I love you, then. I love you. Get great energy, we've man. Try to get an email. Then you can get back on Twitter and X and all your people will love you. And so if you get an email address, you get back on Twitter and. Well, I think there's how come out of my name still wrong. It's crazy.

Well, you can change that. There's ways to change it. And Lisa, thank you for staying up and being part of this as well. Oh, happy, happy, healthy, awesome, liberty weekend, everyone. Absolutely. It's liberty every day for you, Bill. That's a good point. Yes, we'd man. It's a labor day every day. Yeah, I'm not taking all.
