Hello and welcome to TMS. This is The Morning Stream for September 7th, 2000. And 26. I'm Scott Johnson. That's Brian David. That's right. Happy labor day. Yeah. From the great sisters, the great Hungarian sisters, Eva and Jaja Lebor. Lebor is all the Lebor sisters. The Lebor sisters. They were great. So celebrate with some green acres today. Green acres and a little bit of what a loveboat episode or two. Slap a policeman. Sure. Remember that? No, kinda vaguely. Jaja slapped a policeman. I told her over. Man, that's an old, that happened in the 80s or something, right?

It's the 80s. I think so. 80s or 90s. Yeah. Late 80s, early 90s and maybe. It's like the first TMZ story before TMZ. It was feels like it was, right? Exactly. It's a, yeah. Us, you know, we Hungarians have a fiery temper. Yeah, you do. Well, that's right. They're Hungarian. They're Hungarian. I was forget. They always seem like such a mystery to me, those women. Like the, like your alien, like they came from another planet or something. Yeah, they're just odd. They're odd in every possible way. And you'd see them and back then, they'd infiltrate everything. So every watching loveboat tonight, great. Both sisters are on this episode. Fantasy Island, all the Rockford files. I mean, they swear any, any show you've got will feature at some point in the 70s, a good boy sister. Yeah, I think they'd be probably even one of them even probably appeared on the incredible Hulk. Probably sad walking away Hulk music. One of them became she Hulk and I would have been terrible. Darling, you would not like me, but I'm angry. Oh, my gosh, that accent freaked me out as a kick.

Because I couldn't, I didn't know where to place it. Didn't know where to put it. And that was too dumb to ask anyone. So it just kind of was weird to me. They were alien, they were alien ladies. Good job, good boys. To me, they were pretty much every single one of my grandparents friends that came over on weekends for, for spritzers, line spritzers. I was going to say you probably had that around a lot. Lots of it. Yeah, I mean, it really was. It was seriously like constant. Who's coming over? Oh, Aivan Andy and Julebachi. And, and it sounds like a real name. Julebachi, is that real? It is, it's real. What it is, it's in Hungarian, it's, Bachi is man or mister. So, and Nany is Mrs. or or. So Bachi ball is Mr. Ball? No, Bachi is not Hungarian. So Bachi is Italian and has a whole different meaning. Mr. Ball. I like my name, Mr. Ball. It's fun. So basically, Julebachi means Mr. Julius. Oh, Mr. Julius and Mrs. Ava are coming over this weekend.

And you say Aivan Andy and Julebachi. And they call them, it's Mrs. They call them Mrs. when they were saying it in English, right? Well, yeah, I mean, but they wouldn't say it. They would just say Julius and over coming over. I thought it was another Hungarian tradition to call everybody Mrs. or mister. Trying to remember who it was, it was the father of my first girlfriend, Cindy, who is another one of the Hungarian friends. And like they bring her over and then we'd go on the back of their parents Volvo and make out. Sure. But he was the one who paid me a dollar to sing Bohemian Rhapsody every time he came over. Like he'd have a crisp $1 bill. And I'd have to go through the entire song. Like every, you know, from is this the real life all the way through to nothing ever matters to me? The whole damn song and get a crisp $1 bill. For a dollar, not men in this economy, even in that economy. That economy was, it's a pretty big deal.

Wow. How old were you then? This would have been 9, 10, 11. Perfect dates. Make a kid do a thing for a buck. Perfect. Yeah. Yeah. Trying to think about when I started messing around with city Alpine. When kids are dealing, people are going to look up on Facebook. When people, when people do, when a kid does things for a buck, it's around 9, 10, maybe 11. Yeah. I'm not doing that for a dollar, but yeah. I remember those times very fondly. That kid, I made, well, I'm not going to talk. I made a kid breastfeed from a pregnant dog. We didn't make him, but he did it for 50 cents. We didn't make him, but he chose to do it. He chose to do it. He could have gotten out. Yeah, we gave him money. He did it. That dog was, I don't know, the dog just act like it was fine. So I don't think anybody was hurting the process, but 50 cents. Man, the things that kid would do for 50 cents. Wow. Anyway, it's good to see you all. We are here on a Labor Day.

And I hope you've all done a little labor. I did a, I clean up dog poo. That was my labor today. Okay. I did all my labor yesterday. We'll talk about that in a second, but I, I overdid my labor. Was that why we're sitting today? I just noticed. That's why we're sitting. That is why we're sitting today. Yeah. I can always tell you're so, you are perfectly framed when you sit on your camera. Oh, really? Well, it's also because I, you know, I also got on the thing and went, yeah. No, no, no. Robot camera. Click the button if it's you go, oh, nope. Yeah. That's, that's where it's supposed to be when I sit. Oh, here we go. If I have a one called TMS sit, is it, is it perfectly framed? Nope. It's a little low. You're a little hunch that day or something. I guess so. Yeah. My chair was not, my chair was not aligned perfectly or something. Well, a couple of things will get them out of the way. I have a bit of, a bit of news for anyone who might be enjoying the, the comic that I've been creating lately, the new comic called NewDuck at NewDuck.com. There are now, I don't know what the total is.

There's many. I've had, I've been going on average about one every other day or every day almost. And it's, it's current. Right. Yeah, I've been really enjoying it. Having a blast, it's really just me wanting to get back into that groove of drive every day, make something dumb every day. And it already had some really nice, you know, navigation here on the side and down below, you had options to pick a random comic at will and, you know, all of that. And there's all this info about me at the bottom and, you know, all the fun things you can think of. However, somebody wrote it and said, it would be cool if when I went to your site, I could just hit the rant or I could hit the R button and random is the comic. Oh, like the R key on their keyboard. Yeah. So I did it. I figured out the JavaScript and I did it. So you just hit R and then boom, look at this. You just get one different one. It's very good about not giving you the same one again until you kind of run out, but there's so many you won't probably, hopefully. And so that's cool. And then on mobile, the button for random still works.

So it's not like you lose that ability on mobile or anything, but the random feature is definitely something that's kind of fun to work with. And if you control R to refresh the page, it will not give you a random. It knows that the control or command, yeah, it knows not to do that. I put a little logic in there for that. Second thing I did is for those who don't like dark backgrounds, but you just hit the little light button at the bottom and now you get the light version of the site. It's so bright. It's so bright. I know I can barely handle it, but it's just right there and the why isn't that showing up hold on. There we go. Right there dark mode hit that says light mode, dark mode, light mode, dark mode. And it will remember without cookies, what you chose. Nice. Anyway, new duck.com, new comic going up later today, watch for it, have fun. Do you, I'm gonna throw an idea out and I don't want this to be like, oh, this is great. I'm gonna stop creating the comics so I can spend 18 days working on this.

But how cool would it be, you know, like when I go to my phone, I've got this little widget area on the side, right? Where like it shows what I was listening to most recently with music and stuff. If I flip it, it goes to maps or whether it's how I usually take. Would you have to be, would you have to create a new duck app to have a widget that shows you the most recent cartoon on your widget? If I like on your phone, yeah, or can that be, can it get, can it retrieve something from the web? It's gotta be some web hook, right? I would think so, right? How cool would that be? I'm gonna write this down. Yeah. Web hood. Do not spend more than. I'm telling latest comic. Don't spend more than 15 minutes researching this, but I'd be curious to see if it's doable. I'll bet there's a way. I gotta think that that's the whole idea of that thing is with there's something new or updated that can ping it and get in there, right? It feels like that is the missing link to, you know,

what we used to have as kids where you get the newspaper and the first thing I would do before I did anything is go to the very back and read all the comics, right? Yeah. I don't want, I will and I do go to a website to see yours or I get in my email really as part of a sub stack thing, but I love that idea of like, I opened my phone, boom, there's the most recent Scott comic and I can tap and read it. I even just read it. I like that idea a lot actually. I'm going to pursue this and it won't take that long to figure it out. Okay. Ollie, it'll either be like easy. Plus there's lots of smart people in our community here that might know. Yeah. And I'm always aiming for going for the most static simple way like, sure, who needs a bunch of stuff that can go down, you know what I mean? Right. So I think there's probably a way. Real quick here, I got chewed out by some dude online who said he saw this comic about the bees. And it's just this, for the listeners only, there's a man bee, like a husband bee going, ah crap, I lost my stinger, must have fallen off on my way back from work and he didn't quite finish the word work because in the next frame,

he dies in his wife's arms because bees die when they lose their stingers. Exactly. So guy writes me and goes, it was kind of a well actually, but he didn't say that. He goes, the only bees with stingers are the females and the males don't do any of the work. Well, honestly, I honestly didn't even know that. That's a wild. I think I knew some of that, but what bothered me was, he's honing in on like, this is a huge problem for the concept and I'm like, oh, it's not that they have like semi-human faces or they stand upright or they're chatting with each other or she's hugging him with two arms while standing on two legs. Right, right. Dude, you're missing the point, but cows also don't stand up and smoke cigarettes when the car goes back. Okay, I mean, geez. We were, you know, first comic first time. Exactly. We'll actually, you know, if this was a, you know, a strip designed by Neil Degress Tyson

or some sciencey person, Bill Nye, the science guy, then you could say, well, actually, Bill, you're a science person, you should know this. Yeah. But this is a comic strip. Come on. It's a comic strip. It's supposed to be for fun. It's supposed to make you laugh and think, maybe feel a little bad for the bee, you know. Goodness. Geez. And being bees is, you know, it's suck being a bee. Poor bees. Right, it would suck. Well, there's also now notes below each one I can create when I post them. Oh, cool. Like, like, here's where I came up with the idea for this. Yeah. Or, you know, what I was thinking of today, or basically that one was just like, I'd hate to be a bee. It was basically all wasn't. So, so don't always expect really deep thoughts there, but, you know, they're there. Anyway, go enjoy it. Newduck.com. Have fun. Brian, we got a quick message after read for you. Speaking of somebody online. Yeah, let's hear it. For Brian from Stephen, not our Stephen, different Stephen. He says, don't listen to Brian. I guess he's talking to me, but don't listen to Brian. Cape Fear is amazing. Look, I haven't even seen it,

but I agree with what Brian's premise is, which is that when you spread out a story like this where it's like a stalker story and you make a whole season out of it and you just, that means the family has to be stressed in making bad decisions for 12 episodes, whatever it is, eight. Ten in this case. Yeah, 10 in this case. And the bad guys just like ready, aim, ready, aim, ready, aim. Let's see how creepy he can be. Build up, build up, okay. I know where this is headed. Like that doesn't sound like a good time to me. Yeah. So I don't, what you said about it made sense. I don't think you said it was like bad, right? I said, well, I might have, I might not have used the actual word bad, but I probably said the equivalent of it's bad. It's unfortunate because it's such a, it's a great story. And Frickin, like I said, Javier Bardem is almost worth the price of admission. Like you could, you could justify watching it just to watch Javier Bardem chew up the scenery

for 10 episodes and you'd be so you'd feel like, all right, I feel like I got something out of this. But it is. It really is Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson. By the way, Patrick Wilson, he's fine. He's fine, he's fine. Great. I like his insidious, is that the, no, what's the, what's the Annabelle stuff? I can't think of it. Him and his wife, based on real people that were really, they actually can finish it, but it doesn't matter, the movies are good. Can I just say Patrick Wilson is what you get when you look in the dictionary under man. I need a man for this role. Right, just, let's see. Character just needs to play man. Oh, Patrick Wilson, perfect for that kind of thing. Oh, Conjuring films, that's it. Yeah, but no, I mean, he's great. And I loved him in the watchman. I love him and other things. I think he's great. But he is a, looks wise, he is a handsome, but nothing unusual about his look, male.

Yeah, I kind of agree. And he, look, part of why I think season two of Fargo is so good, is his casting is what you want for, you need the plainness of that character that's like your titular, like, you know, mark your marriage character in sort of, is what kind of his role for that. Yep. Same with the first season with the woman who played the, the share, well, his daughter. Yeah, not Coleman. Camembert name, she's great though. She is great. Yeah, she's great in that. I know you haven't seen any of it yet. I don't think you've seen it, but the St. Dennis Medical. Still haven't though. One of the, one of the very few great current set comes on terrestrial TV. I just need to watch it. I don't know what my problem is with that. I'm in the mood for that right now, and I haven't seen it. But, but yeah, like Patrick Wilson is perfect at being Patrick Aswellson. Boog, 731, hit the nail on the head. Patrick Wilson is your default character creators option. So you, like a basic face hair, right? You go and like into a game, say, uh, male character,

and then it pulls up Patrick Wilson. And you go, okay, cool. Let's add facial hair. Let's change the stuff. No, you're not wrong. That's actually dead on that is dead on. Which is to say he's not an unattractive man. He's he's good looking. He's a good actor. He's talented. And maybe, you know, there's some aspect to say that's, that's a huge benefit to be kind of the every man look and not have like, um, you know, baggy eyes or big nose or, uh, you know, whatever. But, uh, yeah. Have we ever seen Patrick Wilson with like facial hair or don't think so. I don't think so. I can't think of it. I think I saw him in something where he had a, they made him bald for the, for the role, but other than that, just, I don't think they've changed him that much. Yeah. Dammy's good in season two of Fargo. You guys really is. Oh, I guess he has a mustache and something I'm looking at. And he wasn't, he wasn't insidious. Okay. So I did have that kind of right. Oh, is that a spin out of that too? Yeah. I don't know if it was a spin off, but it was a, uh, the conjuring universe.

Yes. Exactly. Who would you, if you do a Google image search for Patrick Wilson? 99% of it is the same look. Now he does have a mustache and some of this stuff. So I don't know if he's, uh, and little facial hair here and there. Oh, take it easy there, Patrick Wilson. Go down, buddy. Oh, yeah. There he is right there. And it doesn't even, I'm not even sure that was in a role. I think that's just him being saucy in real life or something. You know, there is, there he is, conjuring things. I mean, he really is a good looking guy. He looks like a guy that ran the football real good in high school. Yeah. Yeah. You know, he's the guy, he's the guy you rely on. He's the, you know, the stand up guy, the good friend of yours that you, you know, you can call in times of trouble. Mm hmm. Yeah. And then he'll, he'll be perfectly good in your movie that you need done. Yeah. Exactly. He's also pretty ripped these days. He is. He gets nice and buff. I'll give him that. And he's in his 50. So, I like this. This is the sexiest Patrick Wilson. I'm sorry.

Probably. Oh collider.com, of course, that place sucks. Yeah. So anyway, uh, uh, Cape Fear, watch it at your, you know, watch it at your own risk, but or watch it if you're interested in it. And then let me know if you disagree with me and, and Stephen obviously does. And good for you. If you enjoyed it, I, I'm glad you got something more out of it than I did. But I felt so frustrated with that family. Episode after episode just making dumb decisions that, that obviously from a story point of you made this be a 10 episode series instead of it being like a six episode series. It's weird how much I agree with this without seeing it yet. Because I just, I understand the mechanics of what you're saying. I'm curious, I'm curious. Stephen, because I don't want them to watch it. Yeah, he probably hates it. But I, the, the, the mechanics of what you've described are problematic. And I so I totally get it. Yeah. But I don't know, maybe I'll train it one day. Who knows? Very well. Why are you sitting today, Brian? What's going on there? So I did my labor yesterday.

Yesterday morning did film sack with the boys, talked about absolutely anything and had a blast terrible movie had a blast though. Once you get past the, the Roger Taylor song, there really isn't much else to love about that movie. But then after that, I played Demio on the, the meta with Barry and DJ George and Adam Matt Cast. And then Tristan came over because I said I would help him do his breaks. I would help him change his break pads. Mm hmm. So he shows up at one o'clock. We run over an auto zone. We're like, all right, break cleaner break pads for front and back for an Audi Quattro TT kid has a way better car than me, by the way, like, like a better car than Tina. I don't know what the deal is. What the hell kids of ours? You know, you feel like you've done something right when your kids have better cars than you. I guess so. Yeah. Usually they have to end in today's world though. They end up having to live in a car board box to afford the car.

Yeah, well, exactly. Yeah. And he's kind of regretting that purchase. Yeah. So, so we, we put it up on the floor, Jack. We get it up there. We take the front wheel off and we're like, oh, yeah, this is not as easy as the Kia. Okay, there's like, you know, there's actually a sensor. It connects up to his break pads has a little kind of metal loop on it. So, when the break pad gets down to a certain level, it disconnects. It breaks that wire and tells you that you need to replace your brakes, which is kind of cool. You know, people like me, people grow up in a certain age, you listen for the squeaking. When you start hearing the squeaking, there's like a little, a little, it's the head of a screw or something that is meant to alert you when it starts hitting the, the rotor that is like, okay, it's time to change your, your brakes. Yeah, the metal clip, I guess, what it is, right? Yeah. It's a metal clip that just says, okay, that's it. Time to change the brakes because I'm hearing the squeaking on the rotor.

No, apparently the Audi fine group of automobiles has instituted this little wire that goes, oh, I don't know, way behind the caliper. So if you're, if you're Fred who works at a mitus and you put the car up on a lifter, great. You take the wheel off, you can see that you can change out that clip. But when you're working on your son's car in the garage and you've got to like play twister to actually get this little thing unclip so you can click on the new one that came with the new brake pads, pain in the butt. And I don't know what the deal is, why they felt like they needed to have a completely different set of, not even size, but kind of bolts for between the front and back brakes. Like the front brakes ratchet, take those things off, no problem. The back one, you need this, you need one of those bolts that goes inside like a, almost like a, you know, you an ideal with these little tiny hex tools all the time to take

out the little screws off the back of little tiny pieces of electronics. Imagine that blown up huge where you're like, you know, trying to get this thing. And guess what? They put the brake line with the fluid right in front of where you need to unscrew that. So you need a little stubby ratchet or an Allen wrench and an hour to take off these other bolts. After hunching over and kneeling on this pad and yankin tires off and put tires in these stupid metal anti-rattle clips and these just absolute nightmare. Five hours of, oh, break, break work. And that's why I'm sitting today. That's a lot. I'd be sore. I might even not even be up yet if it were me. So you're doing better than I would have done. Holy crap. That's so funny. Nick had to do his brakes yesterday too. Oh, really? But in this case, it was Dylan doing it. And it was a Honda, which is a little easier. But Dylan's big car guy knows everything about everything.

And so Nick went over there yesterday morning and they spent, I don't know, three hours doing his, doing his brakes or something like that. But it's just weird. Both their, both our kids had brake issues and had to have them fit. That's so funny. Yeah. That Tristan leaves. He says, thank you. Like super gracious. It's been the whole day doing this. He leaves. Tina looks at me goes, father of the year. Yeah. Like yeah. He owes you for that. He does. He's regulated how much it would have cost if you do it, take it to the shop and we figured we saved $1,350 doing it, doing it in the garage because it's just labor. Really, right? Yeah. Oh my gosh, then. Yeah. It's well done. That's, that's funny. Just as Nebula Mara says, dang, just take it to the dealer. I feel like I'm missing out on a fun experience. Yeah, take it to the dealer. You know what? I have a lot of things that I could do better with $1,500, then give it to a dealer to replace brakes. Yeah. Oh, Joe, you got this other issue we're needing to look at and it's like, no, you don't, don't try to add shit on here. Every time I go to a dealer, they try to add something that doesn't need to do it.

Always. And I have a mechanic when I go to him. He's honest with me. He's a mom and pop place, a bit around forever. Everyone trusts him. I'll do that. Thank you very much. Yep. Absolutely. The dealer can eat a poo. I don't, the only thing I go to the dealer for is that one piece that's very specific to Kia that the dealer can't get or can't get easily. And it's like, yeah, no, I'll just, I'll just go get it. Yeah, totally fine. Yeah, that's how it's going to work. Ladies and gentlemen, and I'll look at their little stuffed animal hamster toys. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly. Yeah. All right, guys, it's time for something fun. I promise you, it's fun. Here it is. Oh, that music, just imagine how much fun we're going to have when you hear that music, when Brian Dunnoway joins us. Hi, Brian Dunnoway. Yeah. Oh, hi, Scott and Brian and happy, LaBore is day. Yeah, man, I can tell you're home today. Nice to get a little day off. I must feel good. Oh, yeah, I got to day off from work, but not from podcasting. Somebody contact the union.

That's right. I can't believe how hard they're working. Can you imagine the idea of like a unionized podcasting thing would make no sense. We don't have to make no sense. Who would I complain to? I'm going to strike against it. I'm going on strike against two. Myself. Bye. Brian Ibbit, he's such a scab. He's doing his own thing. What a scab. Oh, the scabs. Well, it's good to have you here. We're going to play a game. It is called the final countdown. No, what's it called? The final countdown. What do we call it? It's called the two frogs have their own. Two frogs have brains. It's a trivia countdown. And Brian Ibbit knows all the rules and kind of who's involved. So he's going to explain it to us. Brian, take it away. Well, that's right. Scott, welcome to two frogs have brains, a countdown style trivia game. I've got 20 questions across various subjects, including art, science, entertainment, porn, history and more. Scott and Brian history. What would you say? Just see if you're paying attention. Scott and Brian will each get 90 seconds to answer as many of these questions as they

can to skip the next question. Just say pass. Well, scabs and scats. Scats. Well, answering these questions. We're going to put Brian in a sound proof isolation booth. And the player with the most correct answers after 90 seconds wins the prize for their contestant contestants have been pulled from our Patreon supporters at patreon.com slash TMS. Scott is playing for Amanda Peterson. Yes. A man to Peter. So I feel like a most most is like getting pranked. Yeah. For a man who hugged kiss. Is there a man to hug and kiss here? That's awesome. Amanda's great. I'll be a little wait till I get my hands on you. That's right. I'm going to be here. I'm going to win for her. I'm fighting for you. Amanda. Brian, you are playing for Worly Bird. Who are the birds? Jumping, jumping, jumping, jumping, jumping. Jumping. I don't hear that anymore, really. Do you? No. Call it Worly Birds. Yeah. This is on here that turn. You know, I see if you did, right? I think we went for the channel nine, Worly Bird, looking at the traffic today. There's going to be a lot of our guys. Yeah. I thought Turkey's good fly.

Bring them. Bring them back. Bring them back. All right. Well, good. I like these people. Let's play for them. Sounds good. Brian, please. Put on your cell proof. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I'm thinking shire. Don't shush the hose. You must be going, OK. All right. Scott, I will start your timer as soon as I ask the first question. Sounds good. Here you go. The favorite drink of Frazier and Niles from which country does the drink sherry come from? France. Oops. It's doing 60 seconds. Hold on. Don't do or say anything. Stop. Cool. So clear. Set up to start. Start timer. I will start the timer now and we'll just count that time you spent. Yeah. Four. I'll come up. Let's get that timer at 90 seconds. OK. Anyway, how long is a tennis court? About 50, 78 or 94 feet. 78.

Which continent is the second largest in the world? Oh, Australia. By what more familiar name do we know the keyboard invented by Christopher Scholes in the 1870s? Moog. Moog. Moog. By which high ranking, I'm sorry, which high ranking Nazi was captured by agents of Masad in Argentina in 1960? It's Gerbels. Which ancient civilization worships into the Sun God? Oh, my gosh. Pass. What is the name for the study of the form and constitution of the human body? Anatomy. Very good. Which celebrity appeared on the cover of TV Guide the Most? Lucille Ball, Bill Cosby or Bob Hope? Bob Hope. In which year did the Berlin Wall come down? 91. Which word of Latin origin means with another name? Pass. In which Italian city is Michelangelo's original statue of David on permanent display?

Uh, Spain. Which of you, I get the Christie's fictional characters is the only one to have been given no bituary in the New York Times? Uh, perro, perro. Guy. Which company owns Taco Bell KFC and Pizza Hut? Craft Nestle or Yum? Yum. Which jazz musician was known? Whoops. Which jazz musician was known as Bird? I'll, I'll, uh, let you say. Bird? Uh, yeah. Uh, the word, the word. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. All right, very good four points, uh, nicely done. Yeah, the timer didn't work when I hit the space bar, but I think it's because I went back to, uh, it wasn't in focus or something. Yeah, exactly. So I went back to the other page and came back to it. So, all right, four points. Very good. All right. Uh, let's bring Brian in and see how he does. Hey, well, I show police. One. The ding was delayed a little, so I wasn't sure which one I was getting right. I know. Yeah, it did, uh, mute, had some, uh, goofy issues with that.

Hello, hello, hello, hello, hello. Hello. Hello. Now, listen here, Brian, I'm not going to say your work's cut out for you, but I might say it. I might say it. Yeah, your work's cut out. I heard, I heard quite a few dings, but I heard a bunch of weird stuff. I heard like the, the buzzer go off like twice or something. The timer's starting over and yeah, I was like, I don't know what's going on. I'm not really sure like I can't. Yeah, we had some, I had some issues with the timer starting and I had some issues with the first answer getting a ding and stuff like that. So all right. All right. Good. Brian, if you are ready, let's, uh, let's, I am not, let's go. Okay. I'll start the timer. Hopefully after I ask the first question, here we go. The favorite drink of Frazier and Niles from which country does the drink Sherry come from? Oh, um, uh, Spain. How long is a tennis court about 50, 78 or 94 feet? Uh, which continent is the second largest in the world? South America. South America. I know. I know wrong.

Go ahead. I want more familiar name. Do we know the keyboard invented by Christopher Shoals in the 1870s? 1870s. The organ, um, which high ranking Nazi was captured by agents of Masad in Argentina in 1960. Bramp it. Which ancient civilization worships into the sun god? Who? It passed. What is the name for the study of the form and constitution of the human body? Uh, an enemy, which celebrity appeared most on the cover of TV guide, uh, Lucille Ball, Bill Cosby or Bob Hope. It was still ball. In which year did the Berlin wall come down? Oh, uh, 1989. Shit. Which word of Latin origin means, with another name? Uh, what? No. Pass. Italian city is Michelangelo's original statue of David on permanent display. Italy? What? In which Italian city? Oh, it doesn't go. Oh, spake. What? Go. Next pass.

Which of Agatha Christie's fictional characters, the only one to have been given an obituary in the New York Times? I'm back at the Christie on my pass. What company owns Taco Bell KFC and pizza? PepsiCo. Craft. Craft Nestle or Young? Yum. Which jazz musician was known as bird? I'll let you finish. Say it again. Which? Come, uh, which jazz musician was known as bird? Pass. Pass. He also said Spain, Italy, by the way. What happened? What happened? Yeah. Well, the question was in which Italian city is Michelangelo's original statue of David on permanent display? Both Brian and Scott said Spain. Yeah. And you know what? I have a theory. I had Spain in my head from earlier about Frazier. Well, I don't even know. And you got that one, right? Which I got wrong. I said it was from, I don't know where I said, but he said, uh, yeah, France, France. Yeah, I think I said France, but here's the, here's my theory. I think that we both did that because my brain, Brian, you can confirm it tonight.

Uh, don't know what you can confirm it tonight. But when Brian asked the question, it sounded like it should be in Italy, but it's somewhere else. And where would that be permanently displayed? It's Italianly in it. And I was like, it has to be in 100%. Your question was not worded wrong or any of that. Like your question is correct, but I think our intensity of like, I have to get it. I was like, wait, what other country took it and put it up? Probably Spain, those bastards. Right. Right. Then whenever I always get in the, in cities versus countries versus continents, is all fine. If you give me a couple of seconds to think about it, but when you tell me, I'm like, shit. Is it a country? Is it a country? What is it? Wait, city? Huh? Yeah. Well, you won is the point. Let's go through. Let's go through some of these questions. Yeah. Sherry comes from Spain. A tennis court is 78 feet long. Scott got that one. Which continent is the second largest in the world? Africa is Africa. Africa. The keyboard that was invented by Christopher Scholes.

You guys went music. It's the Quirty keyboard. Oh my god. Oh, did you say 18? You said 18? I just thought this got to be. Yeah. You think in Oregon, you're thinking music and Oregon and stuff. Which I ranking Nazi was captured by agents of the sod and Argentine 1960. Adolf Eichmann, who Brad Pitt might have played in a movie. I command. I command. Okay. I was bummed that Nadya, if you get this, the ancient civilization that worships into the sun god, it's the Incas that they've been in. The all those pyramids are to dig into the sad. I think it was sad. And I was like, oh, he's not right. I said that. Yeah. What is the name for the study you got? Booth, he got anatomy, a Lucille ball on the cover of TV guy 34 times. Yeah. He's a little weird. I remember that from some research. That's crazy. Berlin Wall came down 1989. But if there was a movie about it, it's got what I've gotten to the year right. Word of Latin origin that means with another name, Alias. Yeah. Brian, I only keep track of really important dates like movies that came out in 1991.

Only because I was doing research on eight-bit computers and how it affected in how it's in Germany. And I knew when the wall came down because that's when they unified the big computers. Oh, that's funny. Yeah. That's really funny. Michael Angelo's original statue of David not Spain, but actually Florence, Italy. Hercule Poirot is the, I did the Christie character. Yep. Yum does own Taco Bell. Really? I thought Pepsi bought Taco Bell. Pepsi did in the 80s. Yeah. They sold it the 90s. They sold it to Yum Brands. Yeah. Yum Brands is a massive court. It really are. Yeah. And the jazz musician known as Bird is who's played by Forrest Whitaker, I believe, in a movie, Charlie Parker. Oh. Okay. In a movie called I was never going to get that. But now that you say it, I would have gotten, I guess. Now, this brings up an interesting question. If you answer before I finish the question, like you did, Brian, with what company owns Taco

Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut, what I did is I finished the question. I think also you, I think you asked something about the Italy question before you said Spain. Yeah. So it's too bad. I should just say pass like a moron. Well, yeah. The question is, if you interrupt and give me an answer, should I, whether it's right or wrong, if it's right, obviously, I'll move on in the next question. But for future times of this, should I, should I say, I think I should move on to the next one? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We would have tied. Well, look, this is how we learn and build. This is how we tweak it. And, you know, Amanda, apologies that you're, you have to deal with that. But also if you to tie, what we have done, we'd have to do a high load. I did tie. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, it all worked out in. You know, I could always do is give you one last question and whoever gives me the right answer first. Oh, yeah, that would work too. Yeah.

Yeah. Well, what did our fine winners and follow where we're up? Yeah. Some pretty cool stuff today. courtesy of our friend, Grievous, Amanda, I'm sorry, Wurleybird, you're getting a copy of Dungeon Tycoon and Etrienne Odyssey 3. Game's both great, but don't worry, Wurleybird. No, don't worry. Amanda did this twice. I actually typed it incorrectly in the thing too. Hold on X and, hey, Stum and V. There we go. Yeah. Amanda Peterson, you're getting a copy of the small land. Survive the wild. Oh, it's excellent. You're, you're a tiny little bug person thing and the world is huge. So grass is like gigantic, but you're like tiny in our world. Really? Oh, it's good. Yeah. Like that backyard one that they have with the kids in it. I forgot what's called. The honey I showed the kids. Yeah, there's a great grounded is that. Yeah. And that really does riff on the honey thing. But yeah, this one is a little more fantasy based. It's very good though. Really, really good.

I think we both have, we have two winners today and then two losers, but we don't have to talk about those guys. Very good. Well done. Dunno way. We always love to find them. Dunno way. Super fun. We'll be, oh, go ahead. Yeah. That's a question. What was the question? Do prox head brains? No, they don't. No, they don't. I don't want to answer every week. Yeah, perfect. Yeah, every week we answer it just by being here. Well done. We'll be back at it on Wednesday with little tadpuli feud. Yeah. And you'll be, you know, back at the office. We're, that'll suck. Aw, wow. But don't worry. I've sent your complaint to HR regarding your podcasting and may your day be great. You're right. Cause our about to buy. All right. That was super fun one today. Really enjoyed that. That's great. Yeah. So much fun. Now, let's enjoy this. And now welcome Steven to the show. He's a huge freaking nerd. I'll, I'll build you all. Steven Schleiker joins us all the way from haze, Kansas, the very home and headquarters of all things major spoilers dot com.

Steven, welcome to the program. Hello, Scott and hello, Brian. Hey, thanks for hanging in there. We went a little long. Yeah, no problem. I enjoy listening to you guys. Thanks for questions. Yeah. It's really it's great. I love it. Countdown is really fun. I like it a lot. I do too. I, I, there's probably some more tweaking that needs to happen with it. But, but this, this is such a blast of a game. So yeah. Chats, chat's talking about whether Dunnoway is on Trump hole in YouTube saying is it fair because Dunnoway, is it Dunnoway on a delay? He's not on a delay. No, if somebody else commented that when Dunnoway is answering and you can't help it, because Dunnoway is funny. Yeah. He says things that make you laugh and the laughing sometimes might make it harder for him to hear the question and stuff. Oh, that's a good point. I could always mute for that. It's easy. I don't want you to because that's so fun. It is fun. It is fun hearing you react to as the answer is. I'll try, I'll try to be less, you know, all up in it. Like if he says something really funny, I just wake up. Brr, brr, brr, brr, while Brian's trying to talk or or or go like a foot back from the

microphone and. Yeah, step away to breathe, you know, exactly. Yeah, it tastes on day that business. All right. I think we can make that happen. Stephen. I have a question. I've been trying to catch up on back episodes of The Morning Streams. And I think it was Friday's. Brian, have you still not watched Nirvana the show, the band, the movie? No. Oh, my God. No, because I never watched the, you don't have series or anything. I know. I knew people. I knew nothing about this. Really? Okay. And it was a blast to watch. Really? So a couple of things. Well, I don't. I'll let you say your thing and then let me say something else about it. But, um, so it's the, you know, if you want to know from the web series, it's just kind of like sketch comedy out on the streets, you know, nobody's, you know, scripted. Uh, I would say 98 to 99% of everything in the movie is done without a permit. Okay. And the next thing is the amount of work that went into the special effects of this is mind blowing.

Really? Yes. All right. Like, so Alamo showed a couple, I don't know if they were showing clips from the movie or maybe from the web series, but there was one clip where, um, they're in the studio and dude who's wearing a hat and it was great wear a hat, whatever. Um, is hearing a voice. He's like, I'm in your head. And he's like, I don't know where you're at. That's not from the movie. Okay. And it turns out he's in the paper mache giant head that these guys used for something else and, and like, it just went on for so long. But no, this one moves pretty quickly. And then we could realize what they're heriting. Yeah. It makes you lean in even more to go. Okay. Couple this off. Okay. You know what? A couple other people have recommended it. You're recommending it. Uh, it's going to, it pushes it over the edge for me. You know the premise.

You're absolutely what I'm present wrong about sugar. But I'm sorry. No, I'm sorry. Sorry. No, take that away from me. Same way with the best better man who is still homecoming. So, wait, homecoming. Wait, that's the first, uh, that's the first time. Oh, the first Holland one. Really interesting. Interesting. Yeah. I mean, I liked it a lot. Yeah. But it's what's good is it. You know, you're wrong. I'm sorry. Now go ahead with the premise of the, uh, it's a good news. Do you know the premise of the, of the movie? Uh, no. Oh, okay. Then maybe I shouldn't because, well, I, I, I'm going to just say it. It's a time travel movie. Oh, really? And it says so right, it says so right in the description. And it also when you're on who fluids. And this is the only reason why I watch it is because it says time travel comedy. And I was like, okay, I heard these guys mention it briefly a couple of weeks ago. I'm going to watch it. And I watch it probably that, that same weekend. And, uh, I'm just like, wow, I, I hope Brian has watched this because I think. Okay. I started on my list. Tina's gone for the next three days. She, she showed zero interest in seeing this in the, oh, so there's no, if it was in the

theaters, I would not go and see it. Yeah. Okay. Well, I'm still saying that it'll be something I'll watch without Tina. And if, if I like, oh my god, Tina, you have to see this. Then I'll show it to her. But, uh, um, uh, but, uh, okay. I'm going to watch over the next three days. I will report back to you, uh, the next time we talk. Nice. Excellent. You'll probably get a text from me saying, all right, dude. You're right. Or, um, no, this is my sugar. Dude. This is my sugar. This is my sugar. That's the new thing to do when you don't like something. Oh, it's my sugar. Oh, there you go. It's my sugar. Yeah. Or if you like it, though, the problem is you like sugars. You can't say it. That's true. I'd like to say this is my, uh, this is my, um, what's the dried squid snacks? I think it's just that dried squid, I think. Yeah. I love it. Can we lose Steven? We lose you? Oh, he muted himself. It says, Oh, okay. Am I back? Yeah, you're back. There we go. You're back. Oh, sorry. I changed the button and it muted me. Yeah.

That'll happen. That's all right. Not worries at all. Uh, well, let's get to. We got some stuff. A lot actually. Um, and we don't have to zero in any of these in particular. If we don't want to, but I actually really like everything you sent us. Um, you asked why we're not playing zero company. I'm playing zero company. I haven't. Oh, what did I watch the day you're doing some test stream and you're playing like, um, who's like a star breaker? Yeah. Updated asteroids. It looked like descent, like in the way you're flying a spate. You're flying a spaceship and you were blown up like asteroids and then some space station and some guy. Yeah, it's a game called Ever Space, too. It's one of my favorite games of recent years. I love, love, love that game, but it was just for test. I was just dorking off. I got kind of the problem is it was only supposed to do it for like 10 minutes and I got kind of into it and played it for an hour. That's kind of what zero company is. I was like, okay, let me play just one mission. Yeah. Zero company is definitely one more mission. One more mission. If you're a fan soon as I finish dispatch, I'm picking up zero company. Oh, yeah, man. If you are a fan of Xcom, this is Xcom 3. I mean, half the people that are that were on Xcom, uh, two worked on this game.

Yeah. And Xcom 2 is like the same mechanics and everything. Xcom 2 is like the all time watermark probably with, uh, if you include his expansion, I think that's an important part of that game. But this comes damn close. And if you're a Star Wars fan and even remotely like turn based Xcom style strategy tactics, holy shit. And the story's great. Mm-hmm. I don't know how far you are into it. I'm probably, I'm not super far. I'm probably four missions in or something. I think I'm like six or seven missions in right at the point where we're confronting the, the leader of the coil for the first time or the infinite coil for the first time. Yeah. But man, some spoilers, uh, from what I've been watching other people play. There's a certain Jedi that shows up later on. The Mandalorian build looks great. It's, it's, uh, it's cool. It's cool. It's a great game. Yeah, it's really cool. And it's set in an era that I don't normally like. It's the Clone Wars era. And I'm just not my favorite era. It's okay. I like to show the Clone Wars show. And I like the Tartikoski thingy.

Eight years ago. And I like some things about it. But I hate the prequels. And I just, I don't know, I'm just not into like whiny Anakin era. Star Wars. But this thing, this is not whiny Anakin. No, it is not. Let's put that in. Really, this is really good. Like really, like the tone and the vibe and the, all the setting so far of the missions and stuff just right up my Star Wars hold. Yeah. I would say this is like late, late Clone Wars before order 66. Yeah. Yeah. Things are, I mean, you got, you got a clone with some, he needs a new outfit because it's getting banged up because things are bad. And like, there's just, there's a lot of reasons to like it. The only thing that pissed me off about it is I am a sucker in these games for keeping, keeping everybody alive. Oh, right. That's what they die permanently if you set it to do that. You can, by default, it's set to do that. Yeah, by default. And most of these games are XCOMs that way too. You could turn that off, but I really wouldn't because you get hooked on these characters. You really like their builds and you want to be careful with them. And if they die, it's actually kind of devastating, but you move on.

You get somebody else. It's a great part of these games. Well, this isn't a spoiler, but in their early goings, a character will die. It has to. Oh, yeah. You don't know that for sure. So when it happens, I went, I, I'm going back my last save. I can't have somebody die this early. And I kept doing it. And I'm like, why is he keep dying? And then I realized, I'll wait. Maybe this is a story point. Yeah. So then I let went on and sure enough, there's a whole thing about how that dude croaked. We'll just call him McCleunky. Yeah. We'll call him now. Ah, okay. Yeah. I won't say you can. It's in higher another McCleunky. Yeah, you can get as many McCleunky as you want. Many McCleunky's. Okay. So, there's a lot of Star Wars comics and they're not all at Marvel Comics. So Marvel Comics right now has the main Star Wars title. They have Star Wars Legacy of Vader, which is kind of like how did Kylo Ren become Kylo Ren kind of thing. Yeah. Launching this week on Wednesday, the Book of Boba Fett, which is just the adaptation of

the TV series. And then also, I think it's still ongoing the fall of Kylo Ren, which you're getting both ends of that. And then the Boba Fett thing is a bad comic thing because that show is kind of bad. Or is it bad? Well, it's an, it's an, I haven't read it. Okay. So, but it is the adaptation of the, of the TV series. Yeah. There were aspects of it I liked, but yeah, it's a bummer because we had such high hopes for it after the Mandalorian that Book of Boba Fett is like, all right, cool. John always says something funny on Cory always says, where's Boba Fett? He's in the back to tank. I guess that's kind of all, he's spent all his time in it. Yeah, pretty much. Pretty much. So I mentioned, so those are the Marvel titles. Dark Horse comics has Star Wars, the high-re-public adventures and hyperspace stories. Hyperspace stories is an anthology series, but both of these are geared more towards kids. So if you've got like a, a twin or younger who's into Star Wars, you might want to pick up those, those titles for them. I didn't know Dark Horse still had the rights to do anything. So I'm going to get on my little bit of a soapbox here.

Oh, I love Steven's soapbox. So when Disney bought Marvel, they basically said Marvel, we want you to do comic books, right? So like Boom Studios and a bunch of other places had Disney comics going on. Boom Studios had like cars and toy story and a bunch of other stuff. And those got all yanked away when that license expired. Well, Marvel tried to do like Big Thunder Canyon and Haunted Mansion and all these kids friendly titles. And I guess they didn't sell or something. And so they were like, hey, other publishers, if anything, would, if you would like to license the stuff, we can't figure out how to sell by all means do so. So Dark Horse came in and said, hey, we would like to do this. These kids, the kid friendly titles for that. So yeah, Marvel does pretty good when it's focusing on the adult content stuff or I should say, you know, 18 plus stuff. But when it comes to the kid stuff, I don't know why they can't market that stuff correctly. And they just say pass and they just hand it off to everyone else because it's weird.

Aladdin, Alesson, a lot of the villainous game characters, they're all over a dynamite entertainment. They're doing a whole thing. They've got what's the Lilo and Stitch. They've got a whole series of that over at Dynamite. So yeah, it's like the kid friendly stuff. Marvel doesn't want to have anything to do. This is funny because if you had said to me, Marvel wants to do the kid stuff and Dark Horse wants the adult stuff, that makes more sense to me. Totally does. Yeah, like that I could see. Yeah, it's a weird flip on that, I guess. But Marvel had that whole kid imprint for a while. Was Star Comics, was that what it was? Something like that. Yeah. And it just, I don't know why it's Marvel. How could you not market these titles? And they just don't, I mean, they just recently had an Uncle Scrooge series, but I think that's gone away. So I don't know what the deal is. It's done away, you say. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. That's great. Let's talk about the sad Bruce Campbell news. He put an update out just letting people know how things are going because he'd already

announced recently that he had been given a terminal cancer diagnosis. Five years or something. Yeah, and that's the update is this last week he announced that the prognosis is he hasn't probably no more than five years left in that. I don't know what the kind of cancer is. He doesn't think he said, but... He hasn't said, but when you look at some other people that have that five year or less, it's probably pancreatic as my guess. That's my guess just because Steve Jobs had it and some other people had it. And they went downhill pretty quick after that. Yeah. So there's, so there's, my understanding Dr. Tolberst in the chat so you could clear or clear this up if I get the wrong, but there's some pancreatic cancers that are literally like, it'll take you in a week. And then there are some that like Steve Jobs had one that was treatable in the sense that it was, you could get more time. Yeah. This is probably that if it's pancreatic, the good news is, or possible good news is, that mRNA cancer thing is showing huge promise for other cancers besides just skin.

It's possible in those five years there's some breakthrough. And that would be awesome for him and then all of us who are going to get it eventually too. For sure. He seems pretty accepting of it. That's the cool thing. He's like, if you watch the interviews he's done just in the last week. He seems very, he's come to grips with his mortality. Seems like a guy that can do that, you know? Yeah. I mean, he's Bruce Campbell. I like to think that I would be like that too, right? Like it's, all right, well, I mean, I can't do anything about it. I can fight it and I will and I'll get treatment. But if this is the case, then I'll just accept it and enjoy the time I have and make the most of it. Yeah. Yeah. Well, good luck to him and makes me want to go. I never did watch that TV adaptation of the evil dead. He should. Ash and the evil dead or whatever was called. Yeah, you should. Yeah, I can tell what dynamite entertainment has Archie versus the evil dead comic. Of course they do. Yeah. Yeah. It's actually, it's actually fun.

It's a they're always good. I don't understand how they do that over there. They're crazy to me that they get, they pull that stuff out so well. That zombie one or not zombie one. Was it the zombie one? That's the evil dead. That's the evil dead one. They're right in the middle of Archie versus or meets the terminator versus the terminator. What? Yeah. And I can't believe he's just to see how it's crazy. They are. They are crazed like so in Archie meets Ash versus the evil dead. It is Archie needs to buy some gift for Betty or Veronica or he needs the money or whatever. So he goes to work at the S. Mart and there he meets Bruce Campbell and Bruce Campbell as or I should say he meets Ash and Ash is like kid here's how you do things. That is trying to give him teach him the ropes and then he's like Archie's like oh there's a big party at Reggie's new lake house. Do you want to come and there's some quip about you know Ash being to hold the beer around high schoolers but what the hey he's going to drive Archie out there and then he realizes this is the house from the evil dead movies and Reggie finds the necronomicon and recites

from it. The deadites come out and help everybody fight them all. So can I please tell me in the Terminator one that at some point the Terminator says I need your Letterman jacket. I have not any loafers. I haven't read that one yet. You close your milkshake. You have milkshake. You have to do that. I don't think that one comes out until October. You're stupid hat. Whatever. Right. You're crowned. What is this like the weather? I'm not wearing this crown. Yeah. Keep that. Archie versus the Terminator comes out October 7th. Okay. So it's still a ways away. Interesting. It'll be fun. All right. Watch for that. The Inter-John universe expands for those of you not familiar with the Inter-John universe. Why don't you fill them in because I know what it is. So this is a house bro has basically given the rights over to a skybound entertainment which is Robert Kirkman aka invincible and the walking dead and he has been having nothing but fun in dropping surprise after surprise after surprise in this series.

First he announces this series called the Void Rivals and everyone's like, well, okay, it's a new Robert Kirkman book. I guess we'll pick it up. And then on the last page of Void Rivals you realize that, oh no, this is a, this is said in the Transformers universe because a Transformer shows up in the book. Oh, bring it down. Oh, really? So there's there's Transformers now and sure enough a month later they launch Transformers and you're reading through Transformers and then suddenly GI Joe appears and you're like, wait a minute, Transformers and GI Joe, this is awesome and it has been a fantastic series. Void Rivals Transformers GI Joe, you should read them all. So that's a, that's an image deal, right? The Void Rivals. No, it's skybound entertainment. I mean, it's an imprint. It's an imprint at Image Comics. So it is, you'll see Image Sky Brown but Skybound is owned by Robert Kirkman and he's one of the big up-to-ups now at Image. So he gets, he gets that. So I love the art too. I got to check this out. I didn't even know this was out. And then in GI Joe, in one of the episodes, I forget, one of the issues I have the episodes.

I think it was like around 20 or something like that. They introduce one of the characters from Mask, the mobile, I forget with a whole acronym stands. Global Arti's surgical, um, kimono Bob and Sway. And so people are like, and then I remember, I remember, I remember, I remember, I remember and then everyone's like, oh no, they've got the Mask universe in here. What else can they do? And then in Mask number three, at the very end now, they haven't announced the series yet, but at the very end of Mask number three, there's a Baron Carsoff teaser, which is teasing the Micronauts universe and part of this too. And it's the freaking best-looking Baron Carza I've ever seen. Like this, this Baron Carza actually looks threatening. Oh, I go see this. Buff and he's like, you know, it doesn't look like this little goofy toy that I have somewhere behind me. It's like no. Oh, yeah, dude. Oh, shit. Look at that. Yeah. Oh my gosh. That's bad. That's a 3D model of that.

I want to print that damn thing. Oh my gosh. I love that. Yeah. It's really cool. And then I think it was in Mask number three, the same one that has Baron Carzaff. They were doing a blind bag thing. And this is something that's a trend that's going on now where they're just doing blind bag variants. A lot of people got into this. The Battle Beast series from Robert Kirkman did this and they had like some really cool variant covers that you could get. So when this Mask number three came out, everyone was very excited about going and getting a blind bag variant for this. Some people open up their bag and instead of finding a mask comic book, they find Ram the Space Knight inside instead. And people just lost their minds. And so they're like, okay, free comic book day. You can get the Ram number zero comic book. And now they have, I think it was two weeks ago, they released Ram the Space Knight book that was that blind bag variant. But now, Ram is part of the Void Rivals series.

And the Ram book is really good. If you think you know Ram, this is a completely different take this as long as like a spaghetti western version of Ram. I like it. I mean, he's got like a Serapet. He's got like a yeah, which is actually like a living, it's like a living alien that is on him. I can't believe how excited I'm getting for the freaking Energon universe. Like I love Transformers and I love all these things. Energon or Energon. Energon. Energon. Yeah, it's Energon because that's the stuff in Transformers they're trying to. Oh, is that okay? So deep, but the reason. Shazio, Brian was more of a go bot's kind of. I was a Micronauts guy. That's true, but all of these were like cartoons and properties. In some cases, toys first, but mostly things that were meant to sell toys. Right. And now we are giving them so much narrative heft. I'd love it. Yeah. Oh, no, I think you guys would like to. So there is a G.I. Joe series that image comics is still doing and that's still being done by Larry Haman. It's up into the 300 issues.

This is a different take on the G.I. Joe title. So like the Baroness is actually working for Joe up until about issue 25, which is the most recent issue. So there's a lot of characters that flip back and forth. And so it does make it interesting. It's not like you're just seeing a rehash. It's not like this is the ultimate universe of the, you know, the old Marvel G.I. Joe's, et cetera, the Larry Hama stuff. This is stuff that they're really paying attention and crafting some big stories that interconnect between all these types. I think about how Ram has only one eye like he, like he was in a fight and it took out one of his little laser. What happened to that for not not to spoil anything, but do you want to read this first issue because he's got more than one eye missing. Oh, and then what he does at the end is even cooler. Really? Okay. Dude, I'm all in on this shit. Yeah. The fact that it's Robert Kirkman enough is like, oh, I, I, he, the love his stuff. So this is an easy, easy pickup for me.

I feel like I'm just behind on all this. I didn't know it was out and going. Yeah, for almost two years now for the Void Rivals Transformers G.I. Joe stuff mask has been out just this year and then Ram just started up this month. Well, sorry, August. The, uh, this is all good stuff. Go check it out. Also, if you're in the mood for 80 stuff, who do we go to for that though? So if you're in the mood for 80 stuff, Dynamite Entertainment has Silver Hawks, Thundercats, Thunder Barbarian, the Terminator, Gargoyles, Tails Spin, Space Ghost and the Herculoids. Her course comics still has He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. IDW Publishing has Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. AMP Comics, which is a really indie comic, they just relaunched the second volume of Greatest American Hero last month. Boom Studios will debut Jim in the holograms later this year. What? And so there is plenty of, there's plenty of 80s cartoons to be had at your local comic series. Is Jim still truly outrageous in the show? He is outrageous. Yeah. Okay. I think you need that for Jim in the holograms.

I think you do. That's great. I really want to know who's going to get the tape pop demon hunters. Oh, yeah. I'm kidding. Oh, yeah. Because we know it's coming. It has to. Yeah, it has to be coming. Yeah. If I'm going to bet, it's too big to not be some... So it's Sony, so that's Netflix. And Sony has... They can really go with any way. They really could, but I guess I'm saying is, who would have the most? And. So you've got Disney. I don't think they would do that. So that would be your whole Marvel line. Boom Studios is still partially owned by Disney, although they are Penguin Random House Joint. So Penguin Random House has the money. They could do it if they would, if they would get behind it, but Boom has been cutting back a lot lately. Dynamite seems to have no problem doing licensing stuff. Yeah. And they're real regarded for it. It's not like they're... Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah. You know what? That'd be fine. I'd go for that or image maybe even do their own work. Yeah. Image would be the one that would be, but that's all independent. So that would allow Sony to keep a lot of their licensing stuff with it. Yeah. So maybe it could be image. Yeah. Netflix would probably... Of course, I bound heck maybe the K-Pop Demon Hunters will show up in in a ROM space knight or something. Yeah. What do they do style, stylistically? I always go to that with these conversions. I feel like for what you do. You've got to be pretty true to this. The K-Pop look, Demon Hunters look because that's what's going to pull in the younger crowd. They don't want to see, oh, what a wild take on the K-Pop Demon Hunters making them pixelated or something. No, you... They've got to look as much like... There's a fine line though, right? Like how you stylistically move to a 2D format, a flat format that isn't a 3D CG movie. It's still... Yeah. Retain the look without looking weird and uncanny. I don't know. I don't know how they're going to do it. It's always interesting to me. So there is a movie adaptation comic book, which is just a fume-d-y.

Do you guys know what fume-d is? Never heard of fume-d-y, but a... So fume-d-y is... Ask my doctor if it's right for me. Hey, doctor Tolbert, is that right for me? So you've probably seen the old Star Trek fume-d-y stuff where basically they are taking stills from the TV show and putting them into a comic form. Oh, really? So the K-Pop Demon Hunters, the movie in comics, came out a couple of years ago. It looks like. And it's basically just in the same style as the animated movie. That came out in March. And it's from Random House books. So it looks like Random House may already have their claws, sunken to K-Pop Demon Hunters. So maybe boom studios. Oh, look at that. And so... Is it telling anything? Yeah, I was like thinking, oh, okay. So it's going to be, you know, comic book looking... Yeah. ...and applications of the panels from the things. No. The full photos from the movies. You know, you just tried to perfectly, stills from the film. They start with stills from the film in comic, because of that.

I remember this when we were kids. There was stuff like this, but I don't remember it having a name. So Fumeti is a style or whatever. They also call it just photo comics here in the States. Let's see. Oh, weird. Okay, here's some of this stuff. Some of this is really weird, dude. Like, there's a cover of one here that's just like, dude in a Halloween costume. I don't like it. It freaks me out. Anyway, that's... I was like, what's going on in that thing at all? That kind of makes sense, though, for a thing like that. Yeah. You know, I can kind of see that. Man, let's bring it back a memory of something when I was younger. You probably have seen the Star Trek Fumeti ones. Probably. They were really popular in the United States. Oh, I think I remember seeing those. I mean, it had been it. It was something like literally take episodes and just chop them up. Yeah. It was like a thing. Even as a kid, I knew it was like the cheap way to do it. Yes. You know, like a really, like it was like super reuse it. But I remember loving them anyway. I was just like, all into it.

Anyway, interesting. Also called photo, sorry, photo romances. Yeah. They'll do a lot of like, what's it? It's like almost like K-pop or K-Drama style stuff. Right. I don't know who's reading that shit. I mean, in the case of this K-pop demon hunters, the comic book, the movie, or whatever it is, where they travel back in time, I think it was really cheap to do that because you can just say, well, we can make big money off of this really quick off the popularity, get it out on the store shelves, even though it's just the movie chopped up onto Page 4. That's what it is. Trump all just did it. Condor man had photo covers for their comics. Oh, I remember those. Yeah. What I'm thinking of. Disney movie. Yeah. The Disney movie. Speaking of a movie that didn't age well. No. Oh, it's so great to see that. Have you guys sat that one? Have you sat that one? No. No, no. No, no. We really, it's really bad and there are parts of it that are like today.

Disney would be called a racist, a house of racism. Oh, absolutely. There's stuff that doesn't hold up, but I had that on repeat on some old VHS. Oh, yeah, me too. I love it. Oh, my gosh. I loved it. Yeah. I'm excited. I'm excited. I'm excited. I'm excited. I'm excited. I'm excited. I'm excited. I'm excited. I'm excited. I'm excited. I'm excited. As you can see, a variable buffet of options out there for you guys to check out. This has already got me on a track to that. I'm, that inner John universe is about to get consumed. I'm into it. Oh, you need to. They've got several volumes out right now. Just blow through it. It's great. All right. I'm very excited. Steven, as always, there's plenty going on around major spoilers dot com. Tell people what's going on right now. Right now over at major spoilers dot com. It's our new sub stack page. And three times a week, you will get a newsletter not today because it's a holiday because I followed labor laws. Oh, I see how it is. You showed up here. Yeah, that's true. Yeah, I'm not getting paid. You're not getting shit for today's appearance. That's how you do it. That way nobody can complain, see? I get it. I got it.

So three times a week I sent out a newsletter Monday. I'm going to get it. I'm going to get it. I'm going to get it. I'm going to get it. I'm going to get it. I'm going to get it. I'm going to get it. I'm going to get it. And one newsletter Monday is usually a deep thought piece like why the Warner Brothers Paramount deal is a bad deal, for example, on Wednesday's comic book recommendations as well as some by the number stuff. Last week we broke down. How much money the coyote versus Acme made versus how much it sold for versus how much it needs to make, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. You know what feels good is knowing that it made more already than the Zazlove tax write off it was trying to do. Yes. Yes, kind of. No. Is that not true? I mean, it's kind of an asterisk, you know, real quick. So Warner Brothers claimed 70 million, catch up on it for 50 million. They sold the international distribution rights for 20 million. So that brings them down to 30. They spent about 10 million on distribution or marketing. So that brings them up to about 40 million. So you have to look at, if you're looking at how much that movie has made, you have to only look at the North American distribution.

You can't look at the worldwide box office. I think worldwide box office has it above the 50 million mark. And again, half of that money is already going to the international distributor not to catch up entertainment. So they need to make roughly at the theaters in North America. They need to make roughly $120 million to, quote unquote, make money. Does catch up entertainment imply the existence of mustard entertainment? That's not allowed. Maybe. But also, this is the largest release that catch up has ever had. The last Warner Brothers movie that they did or the Looney Tunes movie they did was the Looney Tunes blow up the earth or whatever the title of that was. That one only opened at like $3 million, but they only bought it for $5 million. Which is, but also wasn't that part of Wise Asaloff was like sure that this is better as a write-off than as a release at the time because it was like these don't make any money. That last one did terrible. Why don't we just shell this bastard? Wasn't that the whole thing with him?

I know how much you'd love him and you think about him all the time. I just love him all the time. I love the fact that he climbed up through the ranks as somebody who liked to cut and slash budgets as much as he could. Ruining every show that the Discovery Networks had in order to get them to be the cheapest piece as a crap that he could generate so that he could saddle the company with debt and then buy Warner Brothers and move that debt all the way over to Warner Brothers and then proceed to say no, we don't need to spend $200 million for a sequel to the Barbie movie because why would you want to do that? And proceed to say oh, yeah, you're right. It would be better if we just burned the back girl movie and never released it so we could just declare a tax write-off. Yes, David Zazlov is a genius. And the best part of the David Zazlov story is if this Warner Brothers Paramount deal goes through, when he leaves, he will make somewhere between $508 million. Yeah, he's got a giant. Oh, David Zazlov, boy, I could, boy, people, there should be an economics class on

the David Zazlov thinking, by the way, I still haven't seen Lanterns. Won't see Lanterns until he leaves because nobody should be giving their money to Warner Brothers right now anyway. I agree, but you also see, I can't wait for you to see Lanterns. I'm so tempted. It's so good. At two times now, I opened up the app on my Apple TV and said, should I re-subscribe just for Lanterns? I'll perhaps you know. I cannot. I am by my principles. I totally get it. Yeah. You could sail the high seas, same reason why I haven't watched the second season of sugar. I stand by my print. Oh, yeah, that's right. Hey, maybe season two would have turned you around. Maybe that would have made, I mean, I'm tempted to go and see what it's changed. It is less about the thing, the thing, the thing I think you have a problem with from the first season, but yeah. Catch up entertainment was founded in 2011, the exact same time me and Brian started the show. So congratulations, catch up. First of all, this catch up. We're 15 years old each. We're about to get a driver's license. We got our learners permit. Next year are our license. TMS as old as catch up.

Now we can make out with our girlfriends and the back of our whatever car Brian was talking about. Carbos. It was a little nice. Oh, those are great to make out in. Yeah. Anyway, hey, Stephen, this is fantastic. MajorSpoilers.com. Get in there. Be a free sub now. Sign up. It's been an incredible journey watching this thing all these years and why not get in now if you haven't already. Stay hydrated, everybody. Stay out of trouble. All right, bye now. Hi, I'm me. I stay very hydrated. Yes. You guys can hear it once in a while. I know. Yeah, you've, you've, you've, I haven't heard it since I've gotten much careful. Yeah, I was JK grammar was driving in nuts and I went. That's right. I thought the gate would not pick it up, but it picks it up enough. So now what I do is I either mute and drink or I'll just very gingerly, you know, bring it over. Nice. Okay. Okay. That's needed. You're there. I was surprised to even just happen. So that's probably why didn't bring it up. But spider noir canceled. Oh, yeah. I forgot about that. Nicholas Cage deal over on Amazon Prime.

I first I went home, but I'm not surprised. I first as like, is it just a single season did they plan it this way? No, no, but it does end. I still haven't seen it, but it does end kind of neatly, right? It does end neatly and it's worth seeing. It's, it is the, you know, it is exactly what you sign up to see. It's Nicholas Cage playing, playing a Spider-Man noir. I mean, it's heard the other day. I'm saying, what was the quote? I made him piss blood. And he said, he said, I tried to do, how do you do that role? And he goes, I just tried to be a spider. Again, the most, the most cage thing you'll hear all day. Such a goon. I love him. What a legend. I'd love to have a beer with Nicholas Cage. I would not mind a beer with Nicholas Cage as well. Although I don't even drink beer. So I don't know what I drink, but whatever. Maybe I'd drink a beer. That one time I would drink a beer. Just the one time you drink a beer just because it's Nicholas Cage. And you'll be like, ugh, the sucks, but it's high Nicholas.

Yeah, it stinks, but here's Nicholas Cage. Right. Here is our chance to say goodbye. Goodbye, everybody. We're done with this here show today. It's right. Just today, though, we'll be back tomorrow. Tomorrow will not be Labor Day, but we hope you all have a decent holiday today. I don't know what people plan. Stay safe. Have a nice barbecue somewhere, but say, you know, stay safe or say stay, as we like to say on this show. And if you're in another country that doesn't, you know, celebrate Labor Day like we do, like in Britain, they have the Labor Party. You can't have Labor Day without the Labor Party. You don't have a different name for whatever reason. If you're the Labor Party, every day is Labor Day. Yeah. Exactly. I know our current administration hates this holiday because it sort of celebrates collective bargaining and, you know, the workers. And don't blame me. I voted for Count Ben Face. Yeah. I voted for, I voted for a wet turd on the sidewalk before I'd vote for it. Exactly. That's going to do it. Quick note, I'm going to be doing a comic today on stream. Sometimes shortly after the show, I don't know exactly what time probably.

I want to bring it to the thing posted and up. I'll, I'll, I'll be on YouTube and Twitch creating today's newducks. So watch for that. Cool. Brian will be playing Dispatch Chapter 4 at noon today. Oh, yeah. Chapter 4. This is the one you played a little clip of on the show. I'm like, oh, there's some naughty stuff going on. Even censored. It's a little, the beginning. Yeah. Even censored. It's like, oh shit. What am I looking at? But it's enough to keep YouTube at bay. So you'll be all right. Cool. And then we got a Monday, Monday show show tomorrow. Carter's out of town. Her and her friends did an art thing weekend deal somewhere. Oh, yes. Forget where they went, but I came here in the town. Anyway, somewhere here in the state, but they'll be back tomorrow. And then I'm not sure when that'll be, but we're planning on a show. And more and more available at the schedule, just go to frogpants.com slash schedule. It's all there. All right, we should play a song. Let's pretend I fell in skinned my knee. This song should help me. This will help you. Yeah. Hugh wrote in and said, hey, here's a different Irish take on Johnny Cash's slash nine inch

nails is hurt. That's all he put. And that's totally right. That's just what it says on the label. This is the nine inch nail song, but really this is more of a cover of the Johnny Cash cover. But it's done in a very Irish folk kind of style, which is really nice. This is a singer named Christie Moore short for Christian. I can't think of the Christopher, Christopher, maybe. Christie Moore really talented singer and usually does traditional Irish folk songs. Most of his other covers are that. He's got a couple of the things that I played on the show like pokes and covers like that. But this is a little bit out of his typical realm, but it's really, really good. Here is Christie Moore and Hurt.

To see your face still feel. I focused on the pain. The only thing that's real. The needle tears of all. The old familiar sting. I try to kill it all away. I remember everything. What have I become? My sweetest friend. Everyone I know goes away in the end. You could have it all.

My empire of dark. I will let you fall. I will make you hurt. I wear this crown of thorns. Upon my life's chair. All the broken thoughts. I cannot repair. We need the stains of time. The failing disappears. You were someone else. And I am still right here.

What have I become? My sweetest friend. Everyone I know goes away in the end. You could have it all. My empire of dark. I will let you fall. I will make you hurt. If I could start again. And look at my eyes away. I will keep myself away. I will find a way. I will find a way.

I will find a way. I will find a way. Yes. Get more at frogbans.gov. I will find a way.
