Hi everyone, this is Hope. Welcome to the podcast where ever you are right now, walking, working, driving, or just trying to make it through your day. Thank you for being here. Thank you for taking a moment for yourself. Maybe you've been feeling a little unsure lately. Maybe self-doubt has been louder than usual, or you've caught yourself replaying old mistakes, questioning your worth, or wondering why confidence seems to come so easily to others. If that's where you are right now, I want to remind you you are not broken and you are not behind. You're human, and building self-esteem is not about perfection, it's about remembering who you already are. Let's start by pausing for a moment together. Inhale deeply, exhale slowly. Okay, let's begin. When it comes to self-esteem, many of us have been taught to think of it as something we either have or don't have, as if confidence is this static trait that belongs to
some people and not to others. But that's not true. Self-esteem is a practice. One built on repetition, compassion, and conscious thought. And one of the most powerful tools we can use to reshape it is the practice of positive affirmations. Affirmations are not magic words. They don't erase pain or instantly rewrite your life, but they do something remarkable. They retrain your brain to recognize and reinforce the truths that already exist within you. Neuroscientists have found that when you repeat affirmations that align with your values, your brain activates areas associated with self-processing and reward, particularly in the medial prefrontal cortex. This is the same region involved in building self-concept and resilience. A study published in psychological science even found that self-affirmation helps buffer against stress and improves problem-solving performance under pressure. Here's what that means in real life. Each time you choose a kind thought about
yourself over a cruel one, you are literally rewiring your brain toward confidence and self-acceptance. You are building new neural pathways that make it easier to believe in your own worth. Let's try this together. I'll share a few affirmations and you can repeat them quietly or out loud if you want. Affirmation 1. I am worthy of respect and kindness exactly as I am. Affirmation 2. My voice matters, and I am allowed to take up space. Affirmation 3. I am learning to see myself through eyes of love, not judgment. Affirmation 4. Even when I doubt myself, I choose to speak gently to my heart. Take a breath. Let those words settle in. Affirmations work best when they're practiced consistently, not as empty repetition but as a gentle act of belief building. Over time, you begin to shift from, I hope this is true to, I know this is true. That's when transformation happens.
Not because you've changed who you are, but because you've finally started seeing the strength and beauty that's been there all along. So if you find yourself struggling with self-esteem this week, remember this. You don't need to become someone else to feel confident. You just need to remind yourself every single day of who you already are. You are enough, you are capable, you are growing. Thank you for sharing this moment with me today.
