Because your daily portion ministries is a listener and viewer supported ministry. Let's go ahead and pray. And then we will get underway. Father, we thank you for giving us this Sabbath morning and the privilege to have an experience with you today that we can't have it any other time throughout the week because only today is holy. And you've called us to be holy. So Lord, please now help us to understand more what you have poured into your servants, the prophets, and help us to appreciate their ministry. In Jesus name, I pray, amen, amen, and amen again. Before I get into the call of the prophet, I just need to be honest with you. I cannot even imagine what that was like, like what it's like to be a prophet when God has told us to be a prophet. When God has told these men and women what the messages should be and sometimes on the other end, it's not a welcoming or welcomed message.

I mean, and on the one hand, you have King David who received a message from the from God through the prophet Nathan to basically tell him what David already knew. You're not supposed to take other women, other people's wives, another dude's wife, you're not supposed to do that. You're definitely not supposed to conspire against the the woman's husband and definitely not supposed to murder him and bring other people into all of this mess that you created. And you were a king like God had to send somebody to tell David what he already knew the kings of old actually memorized Torah, the entire five first books of what we now call the Bible, the Old Testament part of the Scriptures, like they knew this by heart. So it wasn't that Nathan was coming to tell him anything new. Thankfully, David did finally yield his will, but that was not always the case. People would hear prophecies, people would hear direct messages from God through the prophets and resist steadfastly.

And of course, they would reap the reward of their of their resistance, which were not consequences that I want in my life. But throughout history, God has called prophets to realign his people with his messages for a fallen world, though the calling brought sorrow sometimes, sometimes it brought rejection and sometimes it brought hardship. But imagine what God goes through. You think he's just up there chilling in heaven like nothing's up no big deal when he sees people running our faces into the wall and destroying our lives because we simply or simply because we will not listen. And so God still speaks in 2026 through his prophetic voice. And we are called to heed that voice from God and to carry the hope it brings to others. And we have an example of one in Isaiah chapter six and verse eight, the Bible book of Isaiah chapter six. And I will read verse eight. Also, I heard the voice of the Lord saying, whom shall I send and who will go for us? Then said, I hear am I send me.

This was Isaiah's experience in the year that King as a riot or a Zaya died after 50 years of successful rule. Of course, he died, but there was a point in even though he was he was a decent king until he wasn't like until he started to believe his own press. He started to look at himself in social media and see what he saw and and start. I don't know why he did that, but he started to trust in himself. And you know, when he died, it was a tragedy for him. It was a tragedy for the people of God. And now Isaiah is envision experiencing worship in a way that he had never experienced because God ushered him into the throne room. In vision with angels who were worshiping him. And as he was cleansed through that process, the Bible says that now we hear the voice of God calling out to say, who shall we send for us now? All of this worship going on to the pillars of heaven are shaking. And Isaiah is like, whoa is me for I am undone. I come from a I'm a man of unclean lips. And I come from a people of unclean lips.

And the Bible and the Bible says after his cleansing, he was ready, ready, ready to go and say, okay, well, I understand what it's like. How to be a worshiper. I know what it's like to be transformed when I should have been destroyed. I know what it's like to receive God's mercy. So send me God. Send me, but let me just say the message that that that brother got wasn't a welcome message among the people that he had to go. But he was ready to go and we're going to see what he's doing. God used him. And so that means to send forth to commission when God sent him, he commissioned him to do his work. And so God still asks whom shall I send. Yeah, right now God is still asking whom shall I send waiting for a heart that is ready to answer. Right. When you have met his love. Then here am I send me becomes the response. God is love. When you haven't encountered God in all of his loving kindness and his tender mercy and all of his goodness without without any restraint when with all of the wisdom that he gives and all of the blessings that he bestows.

And he calls out and he says whom shall I send the only logical answer quite frankly is that I will go like who who who's asking God is asking. Yeah, sign me up. I'll do whatever you have called me to do God by your grace. And so we offer ourselves. That is the action today. I want you to type a men in the chat. If you are offering yourself today with a willing. Yes, asking God to send you wherever he is. He needs your voice wherever he needs your hands, your feet, wherever he needs your heart, wherever he needs for you to go. We are saying here am I send me if that's your commitment to God. Don't say it just because I'm saying it. So let it be our second lesson comes in from first Kings chapter 19 and verse 11 and the Bible reads and he said go forth and stand upon the mount before the Lord and behold the Lord passed by.

So now we see the man of God being called the prophet of God being called to take a stand and remain firm as God is passing by. Do you realize that when God is calling you you have to stand firm and what he is teaching. Can you can you realize that when when the winds of doubt start to blow when the trials and tribulations of this light life excuse me start to blow when the when the way and waves and seas seem to overcome and fully encompass your life you have to stand firm. Stand before the Lord upon the mountain we shall look for to the Lord the hills from whence come at our help where is our help coming from our help comes from the Lord and so you stand on that mountain figuratively speaking Mount Zion you stand and you stand firm knowing that God is the one calling and he's the one that will give you the courage and faithfulness to move forward.

So stand firm for God and his truth in one situation today where it would be easier to stay silent and run away stand firm by faith make it a great day peace. Thanks for joining us listening friends always remember we cannot live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. This has been your daily portion with L David Harris make it a great day.
