Two four-star titles, one rider and a pair of horses with exciting futures ahead. Blenheim belonged to Tom McEwen.

Nicole Brown and Catherine Austen are back to review the action from Agria Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials, where Tom McEwen completed a remarkable double with The Fieldmaster in the CCI4*-L and Brookfield Danny De Muze in the CCI4*-S for eight- and nine-year-olds.

From The Fieldmaster's hunting background and rapid rise through the levels to Brookfield Danny De Muze adding another major young horse title to his record, there is plenty to discuss about two very different horses and what might come next.

Highlights

  • Tom McEwen's Blenheim double and the strength of his team across both divisions.
  • The Fieldmaster's journey from the hunting field to a CCI4*-L victory.
  • Brookfield Danny De Muze's remarkable record and his progression from Le Lion d'Angers to Blenheim.
  • Sam Ecroyd's standout weekend with Jackpot and Bloomfield Manuscript.
  • Oliver Townend's cross-country performance.

Hi, I'm Sparkles Watson and I'm here to tell you about my three yard essentials. The first one has to be my dogs as they're the only ones up in the morning when I get up so they always come with me to the yard and the second one is my corn grooms. They are my favorite things to keep the yard spotless and my third one is the Cardain Martin Dreamcoat because it makes all the horses sparkle and I absolutely love it. Okay listeners, you get like a second Blenom review show because we've done our rising lioness review show. Now it is in to the Blenom review show. Our Greer Blenom Paris International Halls Transmitter took place last weekend. This show is brought to you as was the preview show by our very good friends at Connoisse Redmell. So I have to say they had a train stand at Blenom and it was lovely to see the whole team over on British soil and I know that they had lots of podcast listeners that went and gave them a little visit so if that was you thank you very much but it was good to see them and good to be able to chat to a member of the team as well.

Catherine you are out Blenom but I didn't see you. I only knew that because I saw your Instagram story. I was having a lovely day out as a general spectator. What joy I didn't really think that after the Scoon Burley Cormory thing that I particularly wanted to go venting again and then I really missed it and I got sort of phomo and I did and it was a lovely sunny day. I went on Sunday and hung out with friends and watched a lot of while watched all across country. Sort of up on what they called the Lins which is the area the other side of the river glime from the main event site and thoroughly enjoyed that in Sunshine and then came back and you know drank a lot of rosé with friends and watched the show jumping that's quite a bit of the show jumping with people like Amy Morgan who part owns Laura Collette's Balanchero and this sat in the other drank a bit more rosé and then it was time for the Heathrop Hounds to parade and then we drank quite

a lot more rosé after that. So it was all very jolly. I was about to say are you a good spectator? When you go for a busman's holiday because I'm not normally a good spectator when I go for a busman's holiday but then you started talking about having a jolly social time and drinking some rosé and it all sounded very nice and I feel like you had a great time. It depends. Sometimes I'm not because it is weird you know when you're sort of in very much in the heart of it and busy, busy and involved in the organisation it can be quite weird and I did run the press office at Blenheim for five years. It was my first ever press office pre-COVID so I'm very fond of Blenheim but it can have a sort of weird association but it sort of depends on who you're hanging out with and why you're there doesn't it really? Yeah I agree actually and I would say so I actually grew up at Blenheim and my dad was livestock manager growing up at Blenheim on the estate when I was a small child and so whenever I go back it's very nostalgic of where we used to pick concurs

as kids and actually where I used to ride my pony and all of those wonderful things and the fact that my dad used to probably be and bury in mind this is oh god I'm 36 so this is what 30 years ago and so it was mid-90s and my dad used to probably be at the horse trails worst nightmare because he was the farmer and he was a bit like there's a horse trails on the farm what an earth is going on but then just think I'm just going to do whatever the hell I like still so he used to just like drive round as though it was still the farm and sort of rock up and would come home from school and he'd drive up round the back of the trade stands and would go and get Blenheim Palace ice cream and stuff like that like I remember all of those kind of key childhood kind of moments stand out and so whenever I go back I get a little bit nostalgic yeah I do too you know but it's definitely a way not more reasons but I do too it was my first press office I was extremely lucky that Mandy Herbier who was the event director asked me totally randomly I think it was in 2014 I wanted to run the press office I'd never done anything like that I'd only been a journalist only

been on that side of the table that was the start of source of this part of my career I suppose and I was very lucky because she left me alone and didn't micromanage me and just let me get on with it and learn how to do it on my own so yes I'm very fond of Blenheim too and you know lots of great friends are associated with it and be positive and I'm also hunted through it in the old days with the heat threat quite a lot so I did actually go for a run I was very impressed with myself I know tell me about it everybody was being very social Saturday evening and I decided I was going to go for this run but one side committed I was quite committed but it got dark by the time I'd hit about two kilometres so the rest of the run was in dark and so I was going to try to you know you call you pre-children pre-children in the days of the ERM final at Blenheim and the party oh I was drinking she would have been nice and we're run no I know I know and actually I went

back I had to go back and grab a drink from that I just wanted to bottle of water before I got my car to go home and I was walking along and I saw I was like I'll just sneak in nobody you'll notice me I was in my running cat I'm not I get very red in the face but it's where it wasn't pleasant and I'm walking along thinking I'll just keep my head down before I nobody will see me and the first person I see is Laura Colett and Tilly Hughes and they look at me and they're like Laura case, look at this, what an earth you do! I'm like oh god I'd have been better with the ice the ice fountain and a vodka, luge or something anyway it was great fun loved plan of anyway it was good to be back and it I stable events the team there are doing a super job but it was lovely as well because obviously Europeans last year you never really quite know what the feeling is going to be like the year after because everything feels that little bit anti-climatic doesn't it but actually we had good weather we had some really good sport we've had some really good winners two very exciting horses have won both the full start of visions we're going to talk about them in a

second and so it just felt like we were sort of back and and we could really enjoy what might yeah it might spell for the future cool story eh Tom McKeele wins both classes that's a spoiler by the way if anyone didn't know what had gone on but you can't beat that if you're looking for a post Europeans great results that's pretty cool the I think the thing that really stood out for me so it was basically the Tom McKeele and show okay so he won the eight nine year old division Brookfield Danny D'Amuse first horse that we can find a record that is actually one in fact the the only horse on record that has won Lillianna's eight seven year olds and then come to blend them the following year isn't eight year old and won the eight nine year old division so really really impressive winner there but then also the field master who was a new ride for him this year stepped up to full start long level for the first time and was brilliant in the full start long and a nine year old took the full start long title so it feels like two really exciting up and coming horses I wanted to start with the field master actually yeah because I think there's a lot from this horse's pedigree and I know

Tom Strossen did a brilliant post on it and I just think it we should really celebrate it as well actually because Tom Strossen of public address famousness who's a very very good point point jockey sort of a top level amateur if you will you know he rode at Burley this year but he isn't Amateur through and through and last year he's done around Claire and Burley for the past two years yeah and he produced this horse up to eight nine year old level last year and went to the full start short Tom McKeele and saw it liked it horse was for sale and joined Tom String earlier on this year with a really really good team of owners and Penny Barker who was part of the ownership of or his part of the ownership of Toledo Ducurse Jameson Joe Lambert of course who are heavily involved in jail Dublin you know they've come together on this horse who's really exciting nine year old for the future I don't think he's ever been that fast cross country in his life he came through the finish and was like woo I just watched his rounds actually and there was an event for life video of it that came up on my social media feed earlier and and I thought it was really interesting

in Tom Tom McEwen gave Tom Strelson a lot of credit and Tom Strelson gave hunting a lot of credit well that's where I'm going with that stuff yeah and it was interesting to watch because you could see I know one bias I know I liked bang on about you know hunting all the time but you could see how hunting had helped this horse because he wasn't to say he wasn't careful is completely wrong but he would say it in a better way he was really economical and Tom could go super fast without ever pushing the horse out of his rhythm because the horse knows how to jump through brush for example and not to over jump in that it's very careful way that lovely young horses often do when they might give themselves a bit of a scare Tom could say right go and the film master was like yes I can go I know how to do that and I know how to cover the ground jump the jumps quickly move on away from them and I might be reading too much in for it to it but I could definitely see

the hunting experience in the way this horse tackled that cross country course agree completely and actually the horse has been campaigned really carefully this year you know Tom hasn't really pressed the accelerator button and so there is that bit of an unknown isn't there is to when you do press it what's going to happen but actually that experience even as a a younger horse out in the hunting field where they've got a bit tired but they know how to look after themselves actually that stands them in really good stead when all of a sudden they're minute nine in a four star long and they're just digging that little bit deeper I really like the fact that this horse has been kind of produced the old fashioned way if you will starting out his career in the hunting field then progressing up the levels he's obviously with a world class rider and I think Tom Strossin will be so excited to see where this horse is going to go with Tom in the future because you're going to get the full potential aren't you you're going to see hopefully everything that this horse can do he's called Trev which makes me love him even more he stood in the prize giving like he was stood

at the meat yeah Charlie nice time he saw the hounds and he was like oh that only an interested way not in a oh my god was my going to do about that kind of way they were doing a photo in front of the house and when they were getting ready for prize giving the hounds were doing their laps of honor in the main arena and they do actually bring them in from a slightly different entrance they don't come through the collecting room with the others that would be yeah absolute carnage but in order to get him to smile for the photos the fieldmaster that is not Tom McEwan Jamie Lambert pretended to blow a hunting horn and he just break his ears up had a little round smile for the camera he was just so chilled so relaxed and they were thrilled to bits of them and I did actually chat to Tom and say you know how was he cross country and he said he was amazing he really had another gear he didn't really know what to expect he had a hopes for him but he was phenomenal it's interesting I mean I'm I was looking at his pedigree and I'm no good at working out blood percentages I just my maths brain doesn't isn't well I don't really have one

but because I thought I wonder if there's a lot of thoroughbred in this horse and he's got a completely show jumping bread sire line but a real good plenty plenty of blood and plenty of Irish draft in his down line and you sort of think that is probably the answer to the perfect modern about horse he also came out on the final day jumped to a lovely round again they didn't know how he was going to jump on the final day but did producer a good round just had a rail down could afford a rail down that he was very very good and actually Tom already had the win so not so by contrast you've got this nine-year-old who is stepping up to level for the first time and then you have the battle hard and Brookfield quality who do you know what Norris as he's known has sort of so often been in the I guess the shadow has me of jail doubling and the likes of those horses that Tom's ridden at championships but actually he's got some great five star form I was really interested by the fact that they bought him to plan him rather than take him to another five star

he could have very easily won it he was the favorite on the prediction center coming in he had a rail if he hadn't had the rail then he would have won it but actually you know huge credit to Tom and his team for getting they had five horses there I know three of them finished in the top two spots essentially across the classes you know Shannon Dell Arnold as well did a good job just didn't quite get the result that the others did I was very spicy in the dressage and has kind of re-rooted to Buckello I think so she will see her there but in terms of a team performance they went and they absolutely delivered as much as they could have done really I think yeah and I remember at the Blenheim last year Tom while obviously smiling beautifully and saying how wonderful was visibly frustrated because he wanted to win Blenheim last year you know and Laura won and they do care because you don't get these opportunities very often and I know it's not a European championship but a double at Blenheim the following year is certainly plenty of boxes ticked

the I would say as well that actually Tom is an agria rider he's sponsored by agria who are the title sponsors of Blenheim you know it's a big investment for them as a company to be sponsors of a big horse trials it's really important to support those sponsors that come in to major events and it's great for them that one of their riders has been able to go and fly the flag so successfully so yeah Tom was brilliant in the the four star long format in particular we'll come and touch on the the four star short in a moment in terms of the other kind of standout performer for me it was actually Sammy Croyd yes side the top five I thought he was absolutely brilliant all week particularly cross country jack pot finished on the podium jumped to lovely double clear and bloomfield manuscript was a good fast clear cross country and then just had a rail down in the show jumping so really exciting for Kate Walls who owns that horse and actually one rail down in the show jumping for the bloomfield manuscript I don't think they'll mind me saying was actually a really really good round so I'm excited to see for Sam I was just reading Lucy Elders excellent report in horse and

hound so you know Jen up a bit before this plugg plugg plugg plugg plugg well to be fair to horse and hound you know they deserve a lot of plugs all the time agree and there's a quote from Sam saying bloomfield manuscript was in the lead at Mill Street in the four star long this year and I didn't ride a very good round I got a bit nervous so I was just conscious to show that he can do it and I thought that was honest and interesting yeah and do you know what I think you know Sam's come back from injury he had a really really bad fall a couple of years ago and or was on the sidelines for a significant period of time and actually he's got some really good horses he's sort of being ticking away with getting some particularly good cross country rounds and it's lovely to be able to see it come together with the dressage and the jumping as well to see a top result here bloomfield manuscript I think was top 10 he was the only one to make the time in the four star short eight nine year old division 12 months ago he's come back here top five onwards and upwards for them in terms of the next season partnerships working out great isn't it really really well yeah so this

horse was produced by Emily up the level so Sam partner is obviously Emily King they're based at half of the stables together up in North Wales and Emily produced this horse up to four star levels being top 10 at school last year and they they always had a lot of potential particularly national advanced level but they just had a few blips that crept in and I think I'm right in saying that Sam started riding the horse after Emily had a fall at Thor's be pre-babboment in this year and I think it just worked and like let's be honest on the podium at Blenheim is not a bad race and big is it sounds rather old fashioned to say he's a man's horse because obviously we have a numerous examples of slight females riding big horses brilliantly but this does to be honest look like a man's horse and Sam is naturally bigger and stronger than Emily and that I don't know have an ask them but I think that could be why part of it is working so well other kind of ones to note

in the for long Jesse camp well yeah did a really good job and I think Jesse would have been frustrated with a rail in the show jumping which ultimately cost him the second third place he cost him a podium place he would have finished on 34.6 which would have been just 0.1 behind Tom McEwan's second ride yeah but I think also Jesse would have been very very pleased it was a very nice result for a set of owners that aren't particularly special to him yeah agree Jim as Steven's Chili Jester was very good jump to lovely double clear just time penalties drop them down the order Taylor Mason Jupiter had the biggest climb actually lovely double clear 38.4 which left them well down the order after dressage but then fast clearing only one person made the time cross country it was a really really tough time I mean Tom McEwan was three seconds over with the fieldmaster and I have never seen Tom McEwan ride that fast in my life he rode a finish 99 world when he made just one point yeah but the one that made the time and he was held out on

course which maybe gave the horse a second breath of air but actually it was one we flagged up on the preview show Oliver Townend and Summersby I don't think that being held will have helped him at all personally no I think this is a horse that slightly needs needed slightly to find its mojo again and I think when a horse is sort of going through that kind of thing then you want to set them out set them a light and keep them going keep them going don't stop yeah no matter how far you're far from I was thinking but that is what I would think about the whole scenario to be fair to be heard you make you make a very fair point I was thinking oh refilled the lungs but actually the horse has had some blips and that's why all of us got the ride and actually yeah you don't want to be stopping and then starting again and I would just say Oliver has had an uncharacteristically quiet season or so you know Kui Rosalind that hasn't been out at five star level but he is just as dangerous at a top level event

as his years ever been and of course it's it really I think it's it just goes to show how tough it is to have a team of horses you've got to keep having horses coming through to be able to keep the continuity because all it takes is for one to kind of be off games for a little while and then all of a sudden it's and you have to keep the money coming in so you have to sell them as well if you could keep every nice young horse that came through your yard it'd be easy wouldn't it agree yeah and I would imagine I've never been in this fortunate position but I imagine missing the adrenaline and the highs and the buzz and the big events it's all very well isn't it producing beautifully slowly lots of really nice young horses blah blah blah but when you've had so much we'll say this about a number of riders when you've had so much success at the top level it must be very hard to you know go to an anonymous event down the road with a load of five of your olds when where you want to be is the big events yeah where you have been for so long

agree agree massively a big shout out actually Jenny Carrest who has ridden the horse up to top level herself was there supporting as was Jerry Hollis who co-owns the horse he's based over in the states and had flown over and was so excited to be able to watch the horse at Blanimal Week it was just lovely to be able to see it they missed the dressage they could only get in on the Friday and he thoroughly enjoyed the Blanimal experience too so while the rails down were costly on the last day the horse is a good jumper and I very ensue and now qualified as a pop-out mountain fighter star yeah I mean treat just to what the plan is there next year and who knows we'll watch this space the we'll sort of pick out a couple of names in the four-star long before we go on I would say Sam Jeffrey San Toro re-rooted post there their disappointment at Burley and they did a really good job the lovely young horse the nine-year-old LSS Ilder Ray for Alice Casburn again finished top 20 did a super job Laura Collett's ball and Chero did again you know there were lots of really nice younger

horses coming up and and kind of making their mark that I'm excited to see follow for the future Clark Johnstone Sparky Lad actually is probably the one to reference there because he is full thorough bread did a lovely dressage had 11 penalties cross-country activated the safety device which ultimately cost him a much much higher placing he would have finished on score of 44.8 34.8 sorry which would have been on the podium and he was our winner at Cormory of the you know a rena racing company racehorse to a venture challenge last year so that's that is really cool because that is the point you know we want to point out that X race horses thoroughbreds are top-class event horses yeah you know when when they are positioned in that direction so that was really cool and actually a shout-out to Marcus Bean who is grooms for Clark Johnstone who won the inaugural four-star grooms prize at Blanham that was awarded at Blanham this weekend as well so it's good to see I know that we always

looking to give grooms as much recognition as possible and that was a surprise that was supported by Yesy and went to Marcus who does a brilliant job with Clark String as well we should get him on the show Marcus if you're listening drop us a message otherwise I'm sliding into your DMs I'm just going to put it out there now right four star short eight and nine year old class this is where the future stars come from and it's always interesting to see how this form plays out I would say coming into it this you know eight year olds don't have a seriously seriously strong win record in this division there's been a couple of eight year olds in the past sort of 10 15 years that have taken the title will a Newton and Chia 20 that horse was eight year olds parade McCarthy's MJH that by only when he won it a few years ago was eight year old but there's been some great winners the likes of London 52 land vision Oslo like there's some wonderful five star horses that have won this class and Brookfield Danny de Mew's kept off a brilliant weekend for the Brookfield team had to really go for it's they run the the cross country in largely never seen Tom go so fast honestly

wow and he's campaigned the horse really carefully this year because he you know went brilliantly on last year went very well took the title but it's a step up to four star you've got to get the changes and and Tom's kind of campaigned him relatively sparingly well and then class the bottom cry he he did press the button and the horse was brilliant in all three phases absolutely phenomenal but when I saw Tom coming down the hill like you know not rubbing away as on a tired horse but as in go on go on go on he was absolutely on it but he obviously trusted the horse completely to pick up and go very impressive I have to say I also really like the fact that sometimes cross country riding and everything can be very pretty and perfect and lovely and that's that's great you don't want it to ever be unsafe you don't want people to be pushing a horse out of their rhythm and and like actually then taking it too many risks because you don't want that either

but there is something that I actually really appreciate about watching one of the best riders in the real world really want it like he got down he got dirty and he made it happen and the whole you know cross country speed is calculated carefully to be you know the right speed to go out for that class it's not as though we're by getting the time we're asking them to do something unnecessary we're just asking them to ride their best of their ability and to produce the best out of the horse at that speed it's not you know it's not it's yeah that's how it should be done yeah agree and I mean the horse now Brookfield Danny Dammu's eight international jump double clear and all of them has I mean his worst dressage tested is a 30 everything else has been in the 20s and he by contrast he sum one four star short before Blenheim that was at Bergen jump double clear but had 27.2 time faults he actually scored 27.2 in the dressage and which has five seconds over the time at Blenheim and it was a tough old time the the four star shorter at Blenheim you know it wasn't an

achievable or didn't it what I say it wasn't an achievable question nobody did achieve it so it was a very very influential cross country time and go Katie McGee I mean yes you know you and I know my fondness for Northern horse trials and Katie McGee is our very much our local hero in the North and you know second at Berley second at Blenheim yeah Kushler's Indigo is a horse that I think won the intermediate championships last year I think I'm right in saying and you know it looks like a really really smart horse for the future jump to lovely double clear 28.4 in the dressage so well up there in the first phase as well did a really super job at Bubby Upton sunset at TG also did a good job jump double clear just a few time penalties and kept them out of the sort of the top spot but was on the podium Bubby actually had a light up E inside the top 10 as well it was a fairly star studded top 10 actually when you look at the the sort of the list of names you've got the best of

the best you've got Tom McEw and Katie McGee Bubby Upton Tom Jackson my star turn interestingly that marriage owned I believe by Richard and Sarah Ducin I'm obviously being huge supporters of Pippa Funnel over the years and owned and I'm going to put myself on the spot Primoz Pride is that the right one no that was to me Lincoln they they've own lots of horses with Pippa's and I've put with Pippa and I should have looked this up because I think the horse had a star in its name I think they had bits and pieces with her originally the color tours back in the day but I think they did have bits and pieces Billy Billy Cuckoo they had walk on star was that walk on star walk on star I think that's right anyway they've been I mean a mental supporters of eventing I'm going to Richard you know is is part of the sort of overseeing committee at Burley as well and this sat in the other and you know Sarah has

been involved in horses and eventing for her whole life so this is very cool for them yeah and actually great Tom Jackson was another rider that had a super weekend across the the different divisions too. Yazdingham's kind of Corvette again is on route to Bucalow and I think we'll see a number of these horses in the Bucalow lineup did a really good job kill road tiger, Paragma Karthi were actually the fastest cross country and they were just three seconds over and really thrilled for for Di Brunston and Peter Cattell who own kill road tiger who have owned some wonderful horses. Pete's been on the show plenty of times before. Die has as well in Arkin but only when I blindsided her in off guard but they've owned some great horses they own MJOPE Savoyini and they unfortunately had a lovely Leonidas put down a couple of weeks ago and they absolutely adored him he was sort of the horse that they looked at out of their kitchen window in his retirement so it's very very good for them to have their kind of next generation coming through as well so he tried it. I let the dressage to his own immense surprise

was great. He did he was like a 23.5. He just had a few rails show jumping which ultimately were costly. It's got to Cudre 23.5 had time for cross country but unfortunately he had already sort of slipped down the leaderboard with three rails down in the show. Yeah he cantered round I saw him having a nice canter round you know in that situation. What a shame I was a bit gutted for is the tailor that's the lovely um fighting boy had an 11 penalties on course when looking great so I mean he's just a lovely big young horse isn't he that triggered a pin that the coffin no big deal whatsoever and I don't think is he will mind either way because he's just super all round but again if you take that away it was another really lovely performance from him. There's always think back to it was Blenemate 9-year-olds in like 2016 maybe and down in 36th and 37th place

were two horses called Toledo de Cursor and Balletmore class and they both kind of flew under the radar and then obviously went on to do and lots and lots of incredible things in their careers but I always kind of look at this class and I love looking down the order and going okay who are the future but did Toledo am I right in my memory did Toledo have a friend I think he was really high up and then had a 20 or something like that. I'm going to double check now it was I want to say 2000 and let's see 16 2016 Blenemate 9-year-olds here we go it was a year that was won by Chia 20-Will and Newton. Laura Colett missed a bass finished second Andrew Nicholson's Wallow Springs in third and in 36th place was Oliver Towne and Balletmore class or who jumped a clear round cross country just with time and some show jumps and in 38th place I was one one out Toledo de Cursor did have a 20

jumped clear round and some time Hamilton's and I think I remember that I don't remember Balletmore class that year at all obviously he won Burley the following year but I clearly remember Willa winning because yeah that was a fantastic result and she's now riding one of the caches off spring isn't she. Cordard. Something like that. I can't remember what she's called. No, not Cordard. I'm definitely one of the mares off spring so which is really cool. I'm going to you put my hand on the bass being second. Mr. Bass was second yet you put me under pressure I don't know Chia 20's off spring what it was called. I'm going to be frantic. Willa's been riding it recently I think it was a scoon. I've gone so in my cocktail who was in the ownership of my cocktail. I told me about it and I think she might have told me that's Cormbury possibly. Anyway, anyway one for the future. One for the future. I think it was a great off spring. Sorry last thing.

Belting Queen, Nicola Wilson, Belting's Prince Chilly that enormous coloured hugs with the casing riggy that's cool as well. That's so cool but it is so bloody big. I mean Belting Queen was not big. Chilly morning wasn't big and they've thrown this like ginormous coloured that Katie McGee looks like a piano drum. She says they haven't measured it but it's massive. But there's a reason it doesn't measure it. There's nothing that goes up high enough. No, to be fair I would say it is huge. The other one that was huge grace tailors ride in the four-star long as past the stars and stripes team. That's also very large 18 to-ish and looks a significant unit. I just don't want to fall off. That's it's a lot of weight down. Anyway, Blanon was brilliant. On we go to Buckelo listeners. I'm on nation's cup GC on commentary for Buckelo. So I've got four days of Buckelo commentary from home which will be highly entertaining. I'm looking forward to it. It's always one of the most

enjoyable events of the year but I won't lie. It is also always one of the longest events of the year because I haven't found my own is significant. So look we're looking forward to that. We've got loads more coming up in terms of ones to watch and still plenty of big events in the not too distant future as well. And I'm going to now. I'm done with the eventing. I'm mostly going hunting. You were only doing a venting if it involves copious amounts of rosé and sunshine and quite which is not going to be very much longer. I'm actually going to go and help my friend Jenny Mitchell, when I say help, I mean sort of drift about and smile at the Cotsworld Cup Championships on Saturday because she says it's really fun and it'd be a nice thing to do. And I slightly miss the eventing bars but apart from that I'm mostly the reason I end up shocking is because I'm mostly going autumn hunting which involves guessing up extremely early but makes me very happy. Well, there's worse things to do in life. You're going to be seeing the future field masters. Find the next superstar, Tom McEwan wants to know. Catherine, as a

ways, it has been a pleasure. I'm glad that you managed to escape the Port cabin of Cormbury. That was when we last spoke. I know. Yes, three glasses of whatever it was, champagne, maybe down. Yeah, but it was a great Cormbury and a lot of fun and it all went very well but I have escaped the Port cabin. I'm back in my own house and you know, yeah, it's been a very good eventing autumn. I know it's not completely over but the light does start to run away with you at the events now. You know, I remember those years of Blenheim and you're sort of writing a press release in the evening. Suddenly it's dark and it's cold and well that was me at two kilometres into my run when all of a sudden I was like, oh, it's quite black. Why don't you want to do anything? It'll be fine. Right, Catherine, thank you. Listeners, thank you as always. It has been a pleasure to debrief Blenheim with you. We have got what have we got coming up? There is going to be a show with the lovely Jess Rimmer, a Little Max Future Stars episode that will be coming out very shortly.

We have got obviously tons around me and that season. If you want to build up to the US equestrian open find lot more than part go over and listen to the US Open podcast as well. Dee and Annie will take you through all of the all of the build up there. There's some really big names including everybody's favourite off the record is back with the lovely Will Coleman. Timmy is going to try and get a hold of that trophy that he didn't quite win 12 months ago. There's plenty of other big names in there as well. So do stay tuned for that. But for now, massive thank you to Conley's Red Mills for their support by Blenheim Preview and Preview Show.
