Apart from yesterday, they bet we had yesterday, some of them ridiculous to get one in particular. I don't know how he's managed to lose that match and also to run the low. Both of them should have been it should have been a clean sweep yesterday. It should have been, but the players didn't didn't seem to want to do it unfortunately. Should have what it could have. I should make a song about that, but it is what it is. I mean, unfortunately, we had that. I watched a little bit of that game match. I woke up.

2:02I couldn't believe it. So I got a bit quite early. You know, and I wake up early. I went to bed last night and around about Harposs 9 local time here in the UK, which is about 430 Eastern time. And when I went to bed, there was still about five matches at the start. I woke up about Harposs 2 to check in to see out in the morning to check in the sioux's gun and all the other matches have finished. That was still going. And I should have put my phone on. He got broken in the fifth set. Well, he should have wouldn't hours before then. He should have would it in straight sets, care. Made a bit of a not a mess, but a bit of a not great attempt at volley on match point. And he also served for it in the fourth set as well. So another, we've had it. This has been the summer of heavy minus money in play losses. I can think of about five or six sort of one to 50 or shorter defeats that we've had this summer. But, you know, I'm just waiting for it to turn and I want the 50 to one win is to come in.

3:02It all seems to be one way, doesn't it? But yeah, just at the minute we're getting a lot of bad beats. I think it's been a tournament of them. I mean, this whole tournament, you think about players who've been like one to 50, one to 100 who have been beaten, especially on the women's world, you know, Zhang the other day against Madison Keys, there's been a tournament Taylor Fritz against Surin Deloume. There has been a huge amount of turn around victories in this tournament. Yeah, I don't know what I don't know the reason for that. Obviously I couldn't come on the women's, but it's it's had Taylor Fritz. I'm still at a loss with that one. I know he didn't serve at all well. If he deserved more than 50, he would have been all right. But yeah, sometimes it goes like that. The tournament, you just get you just get a lot of a lot of players. You don't normally expect it on hard course normally on clay. Normally it's sort of the French. You would expect that when it's much harder to serve and match out. You wouldn't normally expect it on hard court, but that's what that's what's happened. Yeah, incredible amount of recovery from players in play.

4:03Comebacks, it's been the absolute sensational. We do have two quarterfinals today. The first one is TFO, we're Michael's and we'll be covering that on betting weekly tennis life with myself and Roy Giovanni later on this afternoon. That is at 1230 Eastern time. But we have another match. It's the match between Shell and an outcress, which we're going to cover on this show because that starts a little later today. That match starts at around about 810 pm local time. So it's a key match. Grabbed key times for an American TV and we're going to come on today any second before we do that. You've touched on the conditions. The weather looks pretty good. Everything's okay. We noticed just we through the courts after 10 days of play on them. We know all about that. Let's have a look at the outright market, the winner of the US Open. And as we can see here, Carlos Acrozi, shortening up round by round. The former champion here is minus 167 to again win in the US Open. Make history and win has he hasn't competed in a tennis tournament since Barcelona. And it's on his way of plus to 40. Ben Shelton, seven dollars TFO, 20.

5:0530. Michelson 33. Brox at 40 and found the center of 80. I mean, now he's going to recover after that five and almost a half hours match against Gare. We've seen we're coming on to that match in a minute. But I was thinking about this this morning. I mean, Yannick Sinner took time off. Didn't he in the season come back? When on an unbelievable winning run. Carlos Acrozi has a wrist taken a bit of time off. He's minus 167 to win the US Open. I know he hasn't played, but obviously it is in hindsight. It's a great thing, but a lot of these players must be absolutely shattered after what they've done in the last four months. Whereas Carlos Acrozi's fresh as a fiddle if they risk holds up. Yeah, that's what some of the bets have been about like the Cushion of one against Tienius. The day that was about accumulated fatigue or lack of it in Cushion of case. I mean, it's remarkable what Al Coraz is doing. It's not so much the five. It is an element of the four and a half months off, but the wrist.

6:06I wouldn't have been that. Maybe that concerned if it was just like a calf injury or something like that or abs or something, but the wrist, the right wrist where it does a lot of the work to come back and do what he's done so far. He still isn't serving properly. Will that catch him out later down the line? We'll see. Well, this match we're going to talk about next is, as you said, the key match at the tournament. So I'll talk about Al Coraz in a second, but yeah, as far as the outright is concerned, I've got not the first two and all of the next three. So I think you can tell from that what's likely to happen. He's going to be one of the top two. I've got numbers three, four and five in the betting here at very big prices. I'm far, far bigger than that they are now. So I'm desperate for Al Coraz or and all is very ever to get beaten. It's just, yeah, who's going to do it? Well, the man who's got the chance to do it tomorrow or this evening, sorry, at 810 PM Eastern time is the American number one Ben Shelton.

7:09And he is a big outside of this match plus 310 minus 420 Al Coraz spread of four and a half and total here at 39 and a half is set betting table sets. This is a real, real massive match in the career of Ben Shelton. It's a big match for American tennis. They need something to happen. They need a big match and obviously Al Coraz under the lights. I'll ask. T key American TV time in this is a big big match as far as the tournament's got the biggest match to talk with Ash shadowed out. Yes, the headhead is 3 nil to Al Coraz, including the flavor cup match if you want to include that match. They're playing the French open last year. Al Coraz won in four, depending on time, 20, 23 Al Coraz won in straight sets. But this has been Shelton's best opportunity to beat Al Coraz. He's been in great form. He has a little bit of a slip up against Shabba Vile off, but other than that tough run. Greaks bore her cash Shabba Vile off. Sit to pass. Except for against it to pass. Al Coraz great against Tommy Paul, but Tommy Paul played very well after the first set. I expect Ben Shelton to play well here. Locked better here. Shelton's been in great form. Obviously winning Montreal as well.

8:10This is his opportunity to shine. The one thing I would say about this, I mean, I'm on Shelton as well. So I've got a very, very good interest in this as well in the outright market. But I at the start of the tournament, I thought this match may be Shelton probably would go it. If this match come about, I thought Shelton would probably be about plus 175. But obviously the form of Al Coraz has seen Al Coraz's form contract. Not only this match, but in the mic, because everyone's having a rebase of Al Coraz's form. Well, he hasn't been tested. He hasn't gone into a 50 hasn't been tested in a 40 hasn't gone into many tie breaks. He's going to be tested here. Am I getting my hopes too high with my emotional position? I'm having all on my right to think that he could be tested here and then he could happen. He could be tested. And I expect him to be tested. It's just how much he's going to be tested. That's that's the question. I'll just very quickly talk about the conditions going to be quite hot in New York.

9:1031 feels like 33 with the humidity. So another, another quite hot day. I will give you a bit of a boost by telling you the quarter final underdog winners ratio. It's actually 36% in the last 10 additions underdogs of one in this round. If you'd bet every underdog in the last 10 years for $10 in this round, you'd be 82 dollars and 30 cents up. So there you go. There's hope. There is hope. I've got the shelter as well. But I can, you know, I'm looking at this just very much as a stand alone match. As you said, I've got the exact same phrase that you've written down here. This is the key match of the tournament. And it is the key match of the tournament. You know, Alcarazza without a fully functioning first serve versus a Shelton who's improved a lot in the last year. Is it time now for Shelton to make the breakthrough versus an elite player? Look at what they've done. This US open Shelton service points one over 10 points one, total of 107.6 78% first serve points one Alcaraz total of 113.

10:12But only 70% first serve points one and that illustrates the point that I'm trying to make about the Alcarazza first serve with this risk problem. We look at what Alcarazza did last year at the US open service points one and return points one tell of 119. And 84% first serve points one. Now he's on all right, the total of 113 that that's down a bit, but 70% first serve points one this year compared to 84% last year. Big, big drop off in terms of first serve points one and Tommy Paul talked about it in quite good detail. He said, although the speed of his first serve may have decreased a little, he compensates extremely well with the first shot after the serve. Every time I returned, he had me running immediately. So the power is down. The first serve points one is down, but he's compensating for that by being super aggressive on the next shot. So the task for Ben Shelton is that he's got to return that first serve of Alcarazza well and try and get Carlos in a slightly uncomfortable position where he can't then attack the next ball.

11:19You know, can he do that? That's the question. History would suggest probably not often enough to win three sets. If you look at what Shelton has done this season on return of serve, 33% return points one at main level all surfaces all players, not great. It then decreases the higher the opponent, the better the opponent becomes. So versus the current top 20 that falls to 31% versus the current top 10 that falls to 27%. And only 11% breaks of serve. So if he is going to win three sets, he would say that probably at least one or two of them are going to have to be tie breaks. He doesn't, you know, he's not returning. He's improving his returning, but, you know, he's not improved it enough yet. But he hasn't played a match like this for a little while. So, you know, he does have the confidence at the minute arguably more confident than the last time he sort of played this sort of time in the US open.

12:21So that may compensate, but just the return of serve, it worries me against the real top players. Alchrist's speed is down, but his placement is probably slightly better. But ultimately, he's not winning enough first third points, Alchrist, but he is compensating for another area. So if we just look at their heads ahead, I don't think it's, I think it's that relevant. But really, you know, all of those matches pretty much certainly the last two were played in slow conditions. And the other one prior to that was quite a while ago. And it's not an overwhelming head to head in favor of Alchrist in terms of the service points, one of return points, one title 104 to 96 in favor of Alchrist. That's not a huge gap between them there. It's an all right gap, but it's not, it's not overwhelming. Alchrist winning only 34 and a half percent of return points in this matchup. And Shelton actually winning a decent 59% on second serve. So there's certainly hope for Shelton on the basis of the head to head. And Alchrist actually only won nine more points than Shelton did when they played at the French open on clay in a match that went to around about 200 minutes, which is roughly the total match timeline with that rivers here.

13:37Shelton's matches against her cash and Shapa Valov here at the US both went slightly over 200.5 minutes, both were four set matches. So that's, that's one option for for better see the over 200.5 minutes if you feel like it's going to be close. I just feel like Alchrist will probably have enough to get it done, but it could belong to the over minutes is one option feels like a sort of Alchrist 3 1 to me. That that's plus 230 bet rivers. I'm just going to take a half a point on that. I feel like it's going to be undoubtedly the best test that the Alchrist has had so far tends to come through these matches, but I've got Shelton winning at least a set maybe two, maybe. But I think the three one feels about right here for Carlos Alchrist. And what price is three one again? Plus 230 plus 230 for three. I hope you're completely wrong. I'm sorry to be now. I hope I'm absolutely I'm absolutely well in a way because I've got Shelton as well, but I'm looking at this is a standalone for people that aren't obviously involved on the outright and stuff.

14:45I think that's, you know, the best bet and the one that I will have as a I could suppose as a mini hedge. I'm just hoping that he gets into a tight game and he struggles with his fitness, but there's no signs of that in moment. And obviously I'm talking with my heart rather than my head here. And but I just felt that I just think that the money line of Shelton is a little bit too big because he is playing great. I mean arguably he's I would say he's playing a bit and there's very short Shelton or consistently in the hard court season. So on the power is very, probably the second on the hard course in the world at the moment. So this is a test against a player that obviously hasn't been in this kind of test as well. We're trying to really find pictures really hopeful a little bit play some prayers and and get with Shelton. But obviously that is the best value play for sure. Three one to our cousin that is our official play. We have some matches for tomorrow. And these are the matches that we are going to focus on now. And our first match is that man. The number one seed Addie's on us very struggled in his first two matches in that absolutely routine job.

15:49Last night against our dairy. He was on call for about an hour and 40 minutes. I suppose I'm at the moment. I'm going to get my match was but I'll tell you a second. And he's up against a guy now. He's played for five and a half hours. I don't know how he's going to recover that crazy match against gay. And that's reflected in these odds here. Addies on us were every minus 1,250. But it found the sand chip is plus six. Fifth the spread is six and half total here was 33 and a half. These two have never met before. But it found the sand chip is back to back five setters. Their route to this final is exactly the opposite. It's very much to back to back five setters and two straight set wins around the sand chip. It's two straights that went into back to back five seters in Bergs and Gaia. So very, very hard to make a case for Alex on to oppose Alex on us were having this much but looking at his on us We touched on it before. But this is this is his route potentially to a major semi final. So there you go. Hallease. Tabillo. Barberry. Van the sand chip. It doesn't get much easier than that. Well, it's kind of similar to what he did at the French. Wasn't it?

16:49The other very fortunate run there. Two hours 31 minutes by the way. I thought it was quick enough. The final set was a bit longer as well. Yeah, the final set was quite a bit longer. I mean, yeah, it is hard to make a case for for boatage here. You know, it was another absolute robbery of a loss in that in that game. As we've mentioned, you know, gay are the match points for three nil win. Two conservative on a volley serve for the match in the fourth ended up losing it in five. Now, Van does Ansikov has got a face. Zverev for the first time in his career. They never met these two. Not on my official statistics anyway on the he's got a face him on the back of a five hours 13 against Gayer, which was which would be bad enough on its own. But that was preceded by four hours 29. In his previous match. So back to back. He's basically played almost 10 hours. Doesn't he in his last two matches.

17:49As you said, Zverev has played a couple of five setters as well, but they were a week ago now and he's he's clearly recovered from that. He's very fit guy. You know, he's had a week to get his body back ready again after those two. He's playing obviously a lot better now than he was in the first few rounds. As for Van does Ansikov, he's he's somehow winning matches despite doing nothing on second serve. 41% against Gayer lost that match. 99 to 101 in the service points, one in return points, one tells scored seven fewer points ended up winning. It was a similar story against Bergs, not not quite as bad as the Gayer one, but very, very similar didn't arguably didn't really deserve the win. But got it anyway. He's not going to get away with that against against Alexander's very over in a major quarter final and and even less so with 10 hours of tennis in his legs in the last two matches. We just look at some numbers that these two come up with this US opens very ever service points, one in return points, one tell 110 90% holds the serve.

18:50He'll sign up for that. Van does Ansikov 103 total and 82.5% holds and again Van does Ansikov only winning 45.7% on second serve. You know, it's it's not enough. He's got away with it the last two rounds somehow. It's not going to unless he improves that numbered drastically or he serves at about 75%. He's he's not going to get this done. There's no head to head record as we've said, but Van does Ansikov I've looked at his record against big servers and it's typically it doesn't tell me anything as most stats don't with Van does Ansikov. He's one 18 and lost 18 at all levels against the big servers in my database. He does obviously have a win over Carlos Alcaraz here. You know, so he is capable of the big upset on his day, but that he didn't do that after back to back sort of five hour matches 10 out couple of 10 hours matches and then be Alcaraz pretty sure that didn't happen.

19:52The other thing is that you feel like Van does Ansikov he's got to win the opening set to have any chance here when he has played top 10 opponents and lost the first set. He's gone on to lose the match 23 times out of 24 occasions. The only time he's dropped the first set to a top 10 and one was against Casparoude in Miami in in 2023. So his record is not good when he drops the first set. He's got to win. He's obviously got to win that first set with all the tennis that he's got in his leg. So again, it's similar to the Darderry match. My lean there was three Nilters very over that. That's exactly what happened and it feels like this is going to be the same. Three Nilters very heavy. It was minus 103 when I looked at it earlier on. That's obviously changed quite a bit if that's correct minus 130 for three Nil. That's not what it was before it was minus 103. The other one was the under 34 and a half games which was the same price which was minus 103.

20:55You might have to move that little toggle around a bit. minus 130 now. Yeah, that's 34 now. They've both changed in that case. I don't know that that's not as much value as it was earlier on. You're probably have to move it down to 33 and a half. But I yeah, I did a three Nil all the under games. I think that's that's the way to go. It's very difficult to find much value here given that vanders. Answers coming in with 10 hours of tennis in his last two rounds. Just something I found from this match. Every match both of these players are played in the eight matches for each. They've all had it all feature a tie break and the band the center. It's been seven tie breaks in his four matches, which is a usual for five. Yeah, five tie breaks. He's not normally a tie break player of under zanskull, but it probably goes against your theory of the under 34 and a half. It's minus one 20 a tie break and you can bet if he's going to be a tie break, it's going to probably probably more likely be set one. I would have thought. Yeah, yeah, plus 360 a tie breaking set one. I couldn't see seven six maybe first type and then go six three six tools, something like that.

21:56But yes, maybe worth looking at a tie break because there's been a tie break features in every single match. Both of these players are playing this tournament. So it shows you all the other. If you wanted to give it a little bit more more on your side, but yeah, that that makes perfect sense because you know, he might he might only have enough legs for the opening set. That's that's possible. The other issue is that if his legs are heavy, it's sometimes harder to serve isn't it? You try to you try to push up off the legs and get the power and if he hasn't got that, then that could be an issue. Yeah, you would imagine that one would be would be the most competitive. Now the latest tips on our next match is the match between Karin Kachanov and Alexandra blocks over a place in the semifinals of the US open.

24:02Karin Kachanov is minus 157 blocks is plus 128. The spread here is to an half total high at 40 and a half. We would expect this to be a high number, but there is some rumors circulating of an injury for blocks. You didn't look quite fit at the end of the match yesterday against Surundal who stumbled across the line. Karin Kachanov has been in great form, but he also is coming on the back of a five set thriller against learner TN. Two massive, massive hitters, the betting and the way we're approaching this is really that there were blocks as injury concerns. Yeah, I mean, it's more than a rumour. He's clearly not fit. Is he blocks? I talked about his fitness the other day against Surundal. Surundal, a blightingly managed to hand the match to blocks despite the fact that blocks couldn't really move. The Kachanov against TN match went more or less as expected with Kachanov using that physical advantage to win it in five sets. That went just as ad hoped.

25:03Now he's in another good physical situation. Kachanov against blocks who somehow got through with the eight of painkillers against Surundal. Surundal was another minus money loss in play for me minus three seventy or thereabouts. He was the Rundal in play after blocks injured his rib very early on actually should have won the first set Surundal. Should have won the match and should have won the first set, but that's that's the Rundal for you. That's why I reduced the stakes a bit on that one because he just he just fell apart. Did you see it so often with players don't you when they suddenly realize that play an injured opponent they just start playing differently and you know that was the case. So every injury for for blocks which was new. We also had that left leg strapped up that talked about that there's those hamstring injury that upper left leg that issue that he's had for a little while. And what he said was was very interesting after the match actually blocks he said yeah I was really close to retiring to be honest I was hanging in there.

26:04But if I think I but I think if I had lost the third set the chances were really high of me retiring because as I said until that third set I didn't feel any improvement. I was already under medication before the match and then during the match I had medication as well. If you feel that much pain while having a lot of medication that's not a good sign. I'm glad I kept playing because eventually it got better it would have been a shame if I'd retired and then it got better afterwards I was just lucky. There you go. And we were unlucky. Yeah again. I mean I wasn't lucky of course because obviously I was a Runderlo but you know as I said the Surunderlo brain kicked in probably almost certainly because of the injury to blocks. I know we played a five sets of match against against Fritz but he's a very fit durable guy so I would put that down more of a mental injury than anything physical. You know obviously the pills help blocks as well there was a love 40 situation in that match think it was five all.

27:11Might have been the third set third or fourth set I can't remember which one it was now. You had a lot of 40 Surunderlo blocks came out and it five massive serves to hold and that was kind of a turning point in that match but Surunderlo should have won it that's that's the bottom line. Makes this match hard to bet because the blocks is condition you know there's we could look at the stats I'm sure that they are they're interesting but they're perhaps not that relevant because this is all about blocks and his various ailments. But if you are bet and it's the strategy that you mentioned a minute ago the set one is surely the way to go here. If you look at what they've done this US open Koshan off 89% holds 77 excuse me 77% first serve points one blocks 91% holds 82% first points once a both firing very nicely on serve. Koshan off got a good career record against big servers 16 wins eight defeats in the ones in my database thing that's on hard courts but is lost is last seven on all surfaces which is kind of a turn around for what is done earlier in his career against big servers.

28:23If locks is paying free then then the set one is set one over looks the way to go it's over 10 and half is plus one eight to bet rivers that's that's probably where I go here but. It's going to have to be a limb because we don't we don't even know if blocks is going to play this match let alone how competitive he's going to be. Yeah very very interesting I think that's set one over is going to be the key thing there everyone's going to come out give it is best but obviously it goes into long match and you just look at this match and you think is no way. It can't go into a battle of the hitters and it's just everything about his power it just looks like a long one there so that's the strategy to go with there so that's been it for a betting weekly game that match will be back tomorrow looking at the action again before I go Sean give a short official place. I'm just going to take off a point on Carlos Alcoraz to beat Ben Shelton by three sets to one at plus two 30. Yeah three one hope you're completely wrong about when I really do I'm not going to have an emotional head on it but I just cheering on the show and I want to get it.
