The link will be in the show notes. And without further ado, let's get into today's episode. Welcome back to the final day of our three parts spiritual truth series. The third truth we're talking about today has helped us feel less alone, see ourselves and other people and treat everyone
with a little more kindness. Like this beautiful. But before we get into today's episode, it is five star Friday. Five star Friday is the one time a week where we ask you to do us a huge favor to take just 10 seconds to give us a five star rating wherever you podcast. If you think the podcast is worth five stars. If you've been enjoying the show and you've been tuning in every day and you've been finding it valuable, it would really mean a lot if you can do us that huge solid because when other people come to the show and they see those five stars there, they think this is going to be really good. And then they'll give it a try and then more people are getting their minds right and it's all good stuff. And if you have been a long time listener of the show and have already given us five serve you one little favor to ask is to share the show with a friend. That would also be a now you're asked out for too much. Well, let's get into today's episode. Mike, what are we talking
about today? Today we are talking about the spiritual truth that is honestly one of the hardest to grasp for a lot of people because I think it goes the deepest. Yeah. And it's this idea that we are all one. What do we even mean by that? Well, I want to start with science because I think that that's a good way to start. That brings us brings it down to earth. So Carl Sagan was a scientist many years ago who has now passed away, but he was a great scientist that had a real skill at bringing complex subjects down to earth. And he often said that we're all made of star stuff. Have you ever heard that phrase? Yeah, definitely. So what did he mean by that? Basically, it brings me back to my days in sixth grade chemistry when you look at the periodic table. For the longest time, I just thought that that was just like a table with letters on it, but it's actually giving you, it is the building blocks of the universe, the building blocks of the universe, just like you have certain ingredients to go and make in cake. These are the ingredients that make up literally every
single thing in the universe. Those elements combine to form compounds and then more complex organisms until they become literally everything that you can see touch feel here and all of the above. And so when we think about the human body, which we all have, right? We have calcium in our bones, right? We have iron in our blood. We have carbon in our muscles and oxy throughout our body. All of those are elements which came from a star which exploded. So why does this matter, Nick? Why are we even talking about this? Why is this spiritual truth and porn or useful in everyday life? Once you understand that we are actually more similar than we are different, right? It's so easy to look out at the surface of like we have different skin color. We have different ways of speaking languages, beliefs, all that, right? But inside we're all made of the same shit. And even on another level, we all have the same emotions. We all feel fear and grief and
pain and sorrow and happiness. We all feel the same human emotions. I actually, I just that though. Sorry, I'm sorry. I want you to digest that. It allows you to see your fellow human not as someone to hate or judge, but actually to have more compassion and empathy and kindness for. Yeah. What I was going to say was I think that we are all slices of one consciousness pie. Like every individual that is born is born with a slice of consciousness, like a slice of awareness. So for example, when you look into a baby's eyes, you're looking into pure consciousness. And then as they grow older and they form beliefs based on their surroundings and identity and an ego of who they actually are and a name and all that, they become these personalities and they become who we are today as adults and these working environments and like real people with all these different roles. But when you strip it down to the very, very core, when we're born, we're all born just a slice of this consciousness pie and the consciousness is energy that we all share. There's a reason energy
can't be created or destroyed. We're all sharing the same consciousness. I think that's that's as far woo, woo is I'll get in this episode. So then why does that? So how does that connect to like kindness? I'll tell you why, because when I look at you right now and I remind myself of this third truth that we are actually one consciousness, when I look into your eyes, I can feel internally something spiritual going on when I hold this truth that me and you and this person staring back at me are in fact one sharing consciousness. And when I feel that and I walk around with an understanding and that knowing deep down, I will treat you with respect. I will treat you with love. I will treat you with kindness. I will be here for you because you are me and I am you. And there's a reason why every single religious text has some variation of the golden rule, which is to treat others as you would treat your love of thy neighbor, love your neighbor or treat others as yourself, but every single religion, there's that book that we have. I forgot one this one this exactly. And it
basically takes all the different religious scriptures and on one page, sunbook on no, but I'm saying on this, this truth right here that we're talking about it shows you like treat others as you would treat yourself in all these different religious forms. And I always found that fascinating. That was another example of we are so much more similar than we are different. 100% so what's the call to action here? I think the simplest and practical call to action to use this is to actually do an act of kindness for your neighbor today. Do some small act of kindness and expect nothing in return because that is what real kindness is, right? Is when you do something for someone else and don't expect anything in return. So that is the call to action. Do you have an example? Which one are you going to do? Give me give me some options. Yes. I'm doing a random act of kindness can mean a lot of different things. So for example, we drove to get haircuts the other day and there was a homeless man while I was waiting at the light and I reached out and I gave him something and I spoke to him for a second. That was a random act of kindness. That wasn't something
that I had planned to do, but across my path, I saw it was a person in need and I responded. I think it's less about like planning and more about just being open, open to doing the act of kindness that you see on fold in front of you, right? Like if someone's behind you a whole tutorial open. Yeah. I think it's taking that awareness that we are one into your day today, which will keep you open to that act of kindness that will inevitably present itself when you stay in that mind. So maybe this is an act of kindness. When someone's an asshole to you, don't react to them. That might be the act of kindness, right? Is maybe remembering that they're just having a bad day and you know what, you're not going to bite and make it worse. Yeah. All right. Well, thank you, banging out. What does that concludes our three-part series on our spiritual truths here? I hope you enjoyed it. Stay tuned for a new series next week. Nicky series. Well, it's back at it. Love you. Peace.
