It's fun to see these commissioners, the NCAA as a governing body, because for decades on end, they've enjoyed the expletative practices of what college football had become, which is a big time revenue generator without the product, which is the players being able to get fair compensation. And they've hidden behind the guise of amateurism when we know that college football and big time college sports is anything but. And so they finally got to the point where these states legislatures forced their hands to allow these players to profit off their name, image and likeness and then became a free for all. So the fact that these conferences, college football as a whole, the NCAA, they've going through all of these different hoops to try to govern it now retroactively. I love to watch it because all of this chaos was avoidable.
Had they done the right thing by the players decades ago? Feeling a little behind, it's time to catch up with today's biggest headlines. It's the morning news dump on price in Biennucci and 103.9 and 983 ESPN, the fan brought to you by Valley Plumbing and Drain Clean. Just look for the truck with the duck. Top headlines around the world is sports. It's part of our morning dump. It's brought to you by Valley Plumbing Heating and Cooling and it's right here on Bryce and Biennucci 103.9 and 983 ESPN. The fan I am Bryce Larson. That is Jordan Biennucci does, uh, Valley Plumbing and Heating and Cooling do catalytic converters by chance. Unfortunately, I don't think they do. I bet your Rob could figure it out. I bet he could. I bet Rob and his team over at Valley Plumbing and Cooling probably could figure it. Seriously, I'm not, you want to hear this, Rob, I have to tell this story when Rob comes in next time,
but I'm going to tell it now. I was reading online, so I assume this is true. A guy made a comment. This is a true story. He said that he had issues with his landlord. Like his landlord was awfully hated as landlord. It was a jerk. So he was moving out. He was getting another apartment, but this guy was like a handy, handy guy. And Rob maybe can tell us if this is possible or not. I think it is. The guy said, so I decided I was going to get back in my landlord. So I cut out a small piece of drywall and I took the water pipe and I installed a, I don't even know what you call a thing that shuts it off, a valve shuts it off. So he's like, I installed that. I shut the water off with this valve. Then I put drywall back up. You can't even see you don't know where it is. So that the landlord, he's going to be like, why isn't the water working? He's never going to figure it out. Because he doesn't know that they're, they're, you know, I installed a valve to, by the way, that's a good way to, I imagine,
get arrested or sued, but it's better than what they do down in Riverton though, Jordan. What are they doing? Riverton. Just cross the culinary water with the irrigation water inside your house. So nobody knows. Yeah. Just cross the pipes. Exactly. And okay, guys, don't. Yes, I in the irrigation water shoots the goose poop all the way through the culinary line and everybody gets sick. Everybody don't drink the water. They go, how, oh, okay, for how long? How long has it been like this? We don't know about it here. You're, you're maybe two. We're not sure. We have no idea. Sorry, what was that? Yeah, we're maybe a couple of years. So you might be immune to it at this point if you have been drinking the water. Oh, yeah. If you're drinking tap water in Riverton, you might as well be in Flint. There you go. Just put it down. That's a good comparison. Yeah. Yeah, it's a good comparison by you. Right. All right, your top headlines in the morning. Don't brought you by valley plumbing, eating a cooling. Don't cross those lines. Call the truck with the duck. Don't cross those lines.
Or go online with valley plumbing dot com. Let's jump into it. Jordan B. Nucci, our top headlines. Unfortunately, we have to start off with some rather sad news. Jordan, like sad as and I should bring this music down or sad as in the I'll let you decide. I'll let you decide. I mean, it's it's a life well lived. Jordan, it's a life well lived. But unfortunately, we do have talk about Barry Melrose, a former NHL player and coach who was a beloved hockey analyst for ESPN for over 25 years passed away on Wednesday. You were 70 years old, Jordan B. Nucci. That's way too soon. Barry would leave this music up. Barry was a huge fan. I love Barry Melrose. And I don't think I'm the only one that was not a huge hockey fan, but a Barry Melrose was on. I would absolutely watch and just to get his he was fantastic. And by all accounts, a just wonderful human being. Yeah, Melrose was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2023,
leading to his retirement from ESPN. He joined the network back in 1996. How about that? It's incredible. And if you think the NHL you watch and if NHL coverage today, and then you go back to like the early 2000s and the late 90s when I started watching it, Barry Melrose was the NHL on ESPN. Yeah. Right? And he was it. Absolutely. He was it. Not only did he do that, there's a current thing going around on social media about Barry Melrose interviewing Mike Gundy. He crossed over into other factions and did a really good job and had a lot of fun with it too. He was quite the character. And phenomenal hair, by the way. Yeah. Slick back longer, classic hockey hair. Beautiful stuff. Beautiful stuff. Of course, Melrose served as the coach of the Wayne Gretzky-led Los Angeles Kings, taking them to the Stanley Cup final from the first in the first of his three seasons 1992 to 1995.
Steped away briefly from ESPN in 2008 to return to the bench, coaching the Tampa Bay Lightning for 16 games. How about that? Coming from television straight into coaching the Tampa Bay Lightning for those 16 games. Overall, he added an 84-108-29 record as a head coach. There you go. So that news, unfortunately, came down just yesterday. It was later in the evening that that news came out about Barry Melrose as well. But that's one of your top headlines here this morning. Elsewhere, around the world of sports, a couple of different things. So, Tawny headed to the I.L. Jordan Be an Uchi. Gonna be out for quite some time here as they head towards the playoffs. He's sat out six of the past seven games because of discomfort in his right arm. It's going on the injured list. That's what Dave Roberts told reporters after last night's 14-1 win over the Reds. Yeah, I mean, I think it's a good move. If you're the Dodgers, they had talked about doing this. Try and get him right for October.
You're okay right now. But this has been lingering forever. Just, and by the way, does this not clinch the NL MVP for Pete Crowe arm? I think yeah, at all, but clinches it for sure. We'll see. I wouldn't be surprised to be doesn't even pitch in October. He may, but I wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't. Yeah, and as a reminder, as a two-way player, Otoni Musko on the 15-day I.L., which means that when backdated to his last appearance on Monday, the soonest he can return is September 23rd. That would give Otoni a maximum of five regular season games to get ready for the upcoming playoffs. But that is an interesting part of it. Does he little rusty when he comes off at the play? He hasn't been, I mean, what's he has not been great? And when I say great, it's by his standards. Great. Because what's Otoni? What is he hitting right now? Right now, he's hitting 277
with 30 homers, a 902 OPS, which a lot of guys would kill for, but that's not Otoni like. No. It's not. And I think this is, I think it's a part of it. I think the injury has been nagging at him all year. Well, and he also had that situation with the knee as well. And that's part of the reason why he wasn't pitching. And also, am I correct in saying that, George? Because he had the, it was on his plant knee if I'm not mistaken. So not only is he going on the I.L. for the discomfort in his right arm, but he also has some issue going on with his knee. Yeah. I believe so too. My man just beat up. He's beat up. Something to keep an eye on. Because he's going on the I.L. The Dodgers are calling up their top prospect. D Paula. D E and then Paula. Uh, that that's something to. Yeah. I don't know how to produce. You see in this, do you see his first name? J O S U E. How do you say that? J O S U E. Not Jose.
Jose. Jose. That's that's that. If we were sports center anchors in 1999, that's how we would call his highlights. And not Jose. Oh, sway. D Paula goes deep. Speaking of sports center anchors, you see the clip that UTSA football put out last weekend? No. They got onto. Uh, sports center top 10. And there were the fourth best player, whatever, the fourth top player of the weekend. And the sports center anchor came in and it's UTSA taking on UTRGV. Okay. University of Texas, real grand valley. So, you know, they have to move quickly. Yeah. So she comes in and goes, oh, it's uh, Texas. Uh, UTSA versus UTRGVBBGVG whatever it is. And that's a great catch. And then UTR. So UTSA
puts up the video on social media and the caption says, uh, what a phenomenal catch by whoever it was. And then it says, and ESPN's still trying to figure out what they're saying or something like that. They took a shot at him. Hey, that's tough. If you're not, you have to know who UTRGV is. Oh, absolutely. Come on now. Oh, yeah. They're big. Absolutely. Yeah. That's a big, big, big brand. Uh, UT, this is not a lot of letters, my friend. UTRGV versus UTRGV versus, here we go. UTRGV versus UTSA. There you go. Not that hard. What? You could just say, University of Texas, San Antonio taking on real grand valley. I mean, that's also an option. You could. Do they won't let you call them? Are they okay with you calling them? I think they would be more okay with you calling them real grand valley than whatever the hell she called them in that. That's not easy. I'm with her.
There's a lot of letters. Now it is her job, but that's that's that's rough. It's unfortunate, rather unfortunate. UTRGV versus UTSA. All right, final top headline across the world sports this morning. The tensions between the SEC and the LSU's, uh, board of trustees seems to be cooling. After Wednesday's schedule court hearing regarding the conference's lawsuit against the school and Coach Lane Kiffin was continued to a later date. Continuance comes at a day after LSU filed, it's final two open roster spots and will not be able to roster Tide and Dayquan, right? defensive tackles avian Harris during the upcoming 2026 season. It sounds like maybe the two sides can come together and they're not actually going to vote to kick out LSU. It was all just a dog and pony show. Well, I don't know if it was a dog and pony show. It would have been tough to kick them out, but if LSU had stuck to their guns and put those NFL guys on their roster, they would have,
I think the SEC would have tried to do it. I don't know that it would have succeeded. I might be the only one with this opinion here, but I think it's kind of soft that LSU didn't stick to their guns. Talk all that talk. You're going to have a press conference outside a courtroom. You're going to get a injunction in a preliminary or a TRO in a preliminary injunction. Here to go through all of this bad press just to fold at the end. It's kind of soft by LSU. No stick to your guns. I'm telling you, they realized the SEC was not joking around. That maybe it wasn't super realistic that they would get kicked out, but the SEC would absolutely go through with the process and try to do it. Well, now there's still some talk about potential suspension being handed out just for the trouble at this moment in time to link Kiffin. I'm not really sure how under what but I mean, like how do you suspend him? You never put the guys on the roster.
Right. I don't just forgiven him, trouble Jordan, just for being a newsman. They're trying to flex, the SEC is trying to flex their muscles and go, you don't think we can do what we want and make rules and enforce them or suspend you. Try us. That's what they're doing. Here's the thing though, be careful if you're the SEC because imagine if they decide to go through with the suspension of Lane Kiffin and it happens to be that he suspended for the Ole Miss game because that's the conversation right now. Talking about suspending him for the Ole Miss game. Now, how would that make your TV partner feel for the next edition of the TV when those TV contracts come up, Jordan E. Newge? Don't you think that your TV partner would look back on this and say, you idiots suspended Lane Kiffin on the biggest game of the season for him when he was going to play his whole team? That's our biggest storyline. That's our biggest TV ratings gitter and you guys decided it was a good idea to suspend your head coach or LSU's head coach
in the one game that he's the revenge game for his former school? They would be ticked off but it wouldn't affect their TV contract. There'd be some angry phone calls though. Absolutely. I don't know. If I was the media partner, I would certainly affect the next time I go to deal with them. I'm not paying you as much because we don't know how you're going to act. You guys are flippant. You guys do whatever you want. You don't respect us as a TV media partner. We're not going to give you as much money so you could take that and yeah but there are other TV partners that would come in and go okay we'll take you. We'll give you a billion dollars. That's what it's yeah. If another TV partner has a billion dollars to give him? That's true. You think the CW's coughing up a bill? I don't think so. Come on I got that seventh heaven money. CBS is tied into the Big Ten right now. What about Fox? Big T- could Fox? Because they're with the Big Ten. They have Big 12. Could they? Yeah. If they had enough money to throw their way they could. If they wanted to get out of their Big 12 one and shift around and
try and get within the NFL contract is also there too with Fox. Yeah. I'm just saying. I don't know what you do here. You see in Mr. Greg saying you don't let your emotions get in the way. Okay. 877-3530-700 is the Sig Frieden-Genson text in line. That's open for you to be able to get on and aboard right here this morning. 857-Hexen with us. As additional top headline wants to get something in about the San Francisco Giants. He said they swept their first three game series of the entire season. Congratulations to the San Francisco Giants and Jordan Beenucci over there. September 10th. You know how they did it. It took a six run eighth inning to come back. All these runs were scored with. They were down five runs. Wow. And they scored six runs against the Cardinals with two outs in the eighth. And that I think put the nail in the coffin for the Cardinals this year. Listen to this season for the Giants. The Giants have had 66 players on their roster in this season which is a ties a franchise record. They've debuted 15 rookies. Wow. There's not a single
member of the current bullpen that was on the opening day roster. And Deverson Lee are the only members of the opening day starting lineup that are on the active roster at this moment in time. phenomenal job by the front office. That's awesome. You know it's spuster pose. You know what's ironic is the team as it is right now is more fun to watch than the rest of the team has been all season long. It is a little bit of a problem though. Yeah that's an issue. But this team now with the I mean they're essentially throwing the river cats out there. They're actually winning some games and they're incredibly fun to watch at times. They don't get me wrong. They still suck. But they have some really interesting dudes. They've you know they have a guy in center field who who can't really hit Jonah Cox but he's super fast. So little ground ball to shortstop he'll beat it out. Yeah they have just like little this is where
you're at as a giant. This is where we you know take the joy from it at this point. I mean 16 and a half out of a wild card spot mathematically eliminated from the playoffs at this moment. Yeah that's what I'm saying. Like our light hitting center field everybody's super fast. That's where we are. That's where we're taking our stock in here. All right well taking a look at that NL standings in the wild card race at this moment. The San Diego Padres currently sit in the last wild card spot. They have Philadelphia and Chicago ahead of them occupying the top two spots. Arizona just a half game out. Guess who's next Jordan? Pirates in there? The Pittsburgh pirates. There's still five games out though. Do you think they can get it done? They're hot right now but there's still five games out. Well it's a it's a good question. But it's hard because it's just the teams in front of you that it's hard to make up and here's the other issue is I just think that the Diamondbacks are a good team and the Padres are a really good team. It's going to be tough to catch those two. I think I just I'm rooting for them. Hey look
I'll say this. We talked about this three day. Was it three days ago? I believe we talked about this. Was it Tuesday or was it last Friday? It doesn't matter. The whole point is that we were saying okay we were looking at these standings. We go okay they had they have St. Louis in front of them yep and they have Miami in front of them and then obviously the Diamondbacks and the Padres and we were eyeing that series with St. Louis that they had because then they can make up those games. Well St. Louis has done them a huge favor. St. Louis just like you mentioned got swept by the freaking giants and Miami's now a game and a half behind them. If they can keep winning and the Padres or the Diamondbacks and Padres and Diamondbacks stumble they have a shot but it is going to take some luck because you need two teams to kind of stumble in front of you. We'll see how that turns out. Schien's is scheduled to pitch on Saturday against the Chicago Cubs. I need him to get scratched from that pitch from that start and they need to roll them over to Tuesday because I'm going to be in the ballpark on Tuesday. Oh my I'm sure that's not a problem.
I'm looking at the this is San Diego's remaining schedule. You have the giants this weekend you have Colorado for one two for four in Denver so who knows what happens there. Miami LA and then guess who they play the last series of the season Arizona. So it's a mixed bag. I think that's a fairly doable schedule for San Diego. I'm looking at Arizona. I'm trying to I'm trying to get gauge the pirates chances here. Arizona has Texas Miami the Yankees, Colorado and then obviously San Diego. It could happen. I mean those are not I think it's more likely than not. I like the Padres schedule more yeah but I don't know weird stuff happens in Colorado. Who knows it's you still got a shot. You want me to bring you home a bobblehead from Clemente de? I would like that yes. All right I'll try and steal too but they might not let me. I don't think they're going to let you. Those things are going to go quick. I'm going to be there four hours before the game starts. Oh man.
Can I I have a grievance here real quick okay. Majorly baseball stadiums for the most part open up the gates an hour and a half before the game. That's too late. What are we doing? I want to go in. I want to watch batting practice. Baseball is the only sport where you show up like three hours early and it's fun because you can actually watch stuff like they're it's not guys just walking around. They're literally taking BP and you can like catch home runs in the bleachers. So that's my grievance majorly baseball you want fans open the damn gates. I don't think they want you stealing the balls. Oh yeah that's a real worry for them all those baseballs that are hand sewn by those poor Costa Rican workers. Exactly. I just don't get some finite amount of these baseballs. You have to reuse these open up the damn gates. You're going to sell a ton of beer and hot dogs and let us hang out in the park. That's my grievance. There you go. All right 824 right here on Bryce would be a newtion Thursday September the 10th will keep it moving along. Jake hats

I'm getting ready to head out of town here as well Jordan B. Doge. I'm going to head to Pittsburgh. Don't worry still going to be around on the show next week. You're gone that long. Got a couple of baseball games to go to going to spend the weekend there as well. It'll be fun. Just working remotely. That's how it will be fun. It will be fun. Not a bad gig. That is not bad.
I'd like to work remotely. That'd be nice. Yeah, it is nice. I think we should somehow get the Bryson B. Anucci bus going and the the show just rolls on. We should wherever we go. Should roll on out to Iowa State next week. Or why Iowa State? Why not? Let's go on a big 12 road trip. Wouldn't you want to go on a big 12 road trip? I'm going to go and check out all the different stops. I want to see what these places have. Yeah, if we're going to do that, we got to do it in the big rig though. Oh yeah. We're friends of God free trucking when we need them. Although, although do we really want to start that conversation back up, Jordan B. No, I don't want to do that. I was joking. Because I'm in. It sounds like other people around here might not be in on that idea. I would drive it. I don't need to ride in the back for two weeks. Going to every big 12 stuff. You would rather drive the truck than ride in the truck. I'd love to drive the big rig. That'd be sweet. I just fire up the TV back there and hang out. We should do
the show in the back of the big rig on the road. Literally. That's Bryson B. Anucci. On a Thursday. I'm telling you. Good radio. I'll do a bus. I'll do an RV when we do the RV super show. Because I can get up. I can walk around the trucks a little cramped, I feel like. Yeah, the RV is the move right there, man. I'll tell you what, from the RV super show, you get one of those buses that they roll into the Mount America Expo Center over there. If you're not going to join us at that Utah RV super show from September 17th to the 20th at the Mount America Expo Center and Sandy, then you're going to miss out. Yeah. We'll be there live on Saturday, September 19th. Get you ready for Utah and Utah State. As far as big 12 road trips. I would like to go, yeah, ASU would be cool. Colorado. I want to see some of the newer schools. I want to see you Cincinnati. I want to see Houston. I want to see UCF. I don't need to see Houston. That place is dead. It can't be dead for much longer because they're turning it around.
You would think playing good football. I don't need to see Houston. I'd like to see Texas tech. I'd see a game there. Baylor, man. Oklahoma State would be cool. You've been there. I like still water. It's a fun atmosphere, fun environment. TCU, man. All right. Who else? West Virginia. I'd love to. West Virginia's phenomenal. Yeah. Shout out to West Virginia. If they were playing a better opponent this upcoming weekend, I'd be in West Virginia. That'd be cool. Who am I missing that I'd like to see? Who I'd like to travel to? Big 12 wise. I'm running out of UCF. You want to go to Orlando? Not really. Why not? Are you a fan of Orlando? You like to stay to Florida? I've ever been, actually. Really? If I were going to go to Florida, I'd like to go somewhere with a beach, though. Yeah. Well, I mean, 45 minutes away. You could go check out NASA for more Orlando. There's a beach right there next to NASA. How's she got to drive a little bit further? Okay. And there's toll roads. There is toll roads. Okay. Who am I since an addy? Maybe. Who else am I missing in the big 12 here?
I said Baylor, Texas, Texas. You might have seen you at this point. Houston. Is that I was state? West Virginia. I would go see Iowa State. Some say, and we should go to Iowa State because they're going to take on Iowa. Be fun. Iowa, Iowa State. That's a fun game to be at. Sihawk this weekend. That would be a really fun game to all though. I don't know how competitive Iowa State is going to be. Well, they're not going to be super competitive. Kansas, you've been to Lawrence. Is it worth though? I haven't been for a game, though. Okay. Just driving through. I've eaten Chick-fil-A Lawrence, Kansas, but that's about it. I go for a basketball game. That'd be fun. Kansas State. I don't know. Whatever. Manhattan. Sorry. I'm just going through. This is great PR for the big 12. It depends on the situation in the scenario. George B. Nucci. Sure. If it's Kansas playing Kansas State, absolutely, I want to be there. If it's Kansas playing Long Island University,
I'll probably pass on that opportunity. Yeah. Okay. So even, look, even West Virginia and Kansas. That's the first West Virginia game I went to. It was awesome. We'll graer through for like four touchdowns in that game. It was a great atmosphere. Back when Daniel Holgerson was still the head coach of the West Virginia mountaineers. Wow. What's the best town? Best in the big 12. I'm not going to lie. Morgan Towns pretty dang awesome. Morgan Towns would be sweet. It's got to be Boulder. The Boulder is fantastic. I need to experience Boulder to have an opinion on that. Yeah. Boulder's great. I would put Morgan Town, West Virginia up there. A lot of people are going to laugh at that. But if you have not been to Morgan Town on a college game day, specifically, like, there's a football game going on that day, then you don't you can't you can't say it's not because you haven't been there. No, it's a great college town. Yeah. It becomes the largest town in West Virginia. I don't think that's like a hard thing to do. But it becomes the largest town in West Virginia on Saturdays. 100,000 plus people all converge. And it's not even a very half of them
can't get into the stadium. I'm just saying it's not a very big stadium. Half of them are outside the stadium just camping outside the hospital. Like the tailgating is crazy in Morgan Town. It's a great atmosphere. I like Morgan Town a lot. I would highly suggest a night game in Morgan Town. That's fun. No, I they get rowdy. You saw an ugly game when you went there the whole account. I saw well, like I said, I've been there a couple times. So I watched Will Greer tear up cans. This which was fun. And then I've also been there for a BYU West Virginia. The first time they went there and that was an ugly game. That was that thing was over by the third quarter for sure. All right. I'm with you West Virginia. And then yeah, I put Boulder up there. And then Bryce hockey checks in and says you skipped Arizona. What about you? They I would check out. Yeah, I would check out Tucson. I've never been to Tucson. I'd like to see it. I'd rather go to a basketball game kind of like Kansas. I have been to Tucson. Once again, not for a football game or basketball game. Actually track and field guy. Big 12 track and field
championships. This last May. How was Tucson? Hot. They wouldn't let me into the stadium. What? Yeah. Oh, the football stadium. Yeah. Normally they leave the gate open. But they had security people outside of the state graduation was going on. I was just saying maybe that's the maybe that's the problem with the football attendance. They just don't let people in. Well, I'm telling you, man, they would not let me in. I was like, Hey, can I go in and take some pictures? Because you know, a graduation was going on. I was like, Hey, can we go ahead and take some pictures? Made it sound like we had someone graduating. Sure. And they're like, Hey, these people want to come in and see if they could take some pictures in their cap and gown over here. None of us was in the cap and gown. I was just asking them and they're like, No, nobody can come into the stadium right now. So I got to go into the basketball arena. Oh, you did. Yeah. Was that cool? Yeah. Graduation was going on. Oh, well, I was in there. So you know, check out the concession stands. I got the concession stands. Check it. Yeah, it's a nice, it's a nice basketball arena, a little bit older on the older side down there in Arizona. Yeah. Tucson's cool. Don't love the
road from Phoenix to Tucson. It's a tiny construction was happening. Took a long time to get down there. Shouldn't have taken that long. Okay. Yeah, you have a I would I would and I think that sounds like a not a bad college town at all. I don't love the one. Tempe is cool. I love Tempe. Because we went from Tucson to Tempe state of night and Tempe and then went to the airport because it's like right next to the airport. Tempe. Yeah, Tempe is a great town. So see, I'm telling you, the best towns in the big 12 maybe on bias, they're out west. I'm going to I got Arizona and I got Boulder and then I'm with you on West Virginia. But I mean, I'll tell you Salt Lake City compared to these other, it may be in the top half of the. It's not like a college town. Right. But if I were a road fan, as far as places I would go visit, I'd go to Salt Lake City. Yeah, I think I think I think Utah in general, both cities. I think Salt Lake City on Provo. Like for people who are from back east,
they're like, that is the one that they circle. Either they're going to Utah or BYU because they've never seen the mountains. Yeah. They want to check out what's happening here in the state of Utah because there's a lot of hype between the two fan bases. And there's like a gravity. So there's a weird gravitational pull to the state of Utah from another big 12 fan bases. Like these are the two road trips that they circle that their fans want to make the trip out to the state of Utah the most for whatever reason. Because it's like a novelty. Yeah. Yeah. They've never react exactly. They have no other reason to come to Utah. Unfortunately, except for to come watch their football team play. I think that's what it is. I could be wrong. Yeah. Some people might kill me for that. Why? Why else would they come to ski? Right. Like that's to ski and hike in the mountains. But if you're not a skier or a hiker like myself, I don't do a lot of that stuff. No. You're going to come for some football. You're going to realize, press and I really we should be on the chamber. On the travel board.
On the tourism board because we're always like, yeah, there's not much to do here. Because we're not big outdoors, man. We aren't. That's correct. Yeah. That's why we think there's not a lot of it. Where's just like a lot of people do a lot of things here in the state of Utah. Yeah. Exactly. There's I as I was kind of boring. I've lived here my whole life. I'd never have once been skiing or snowboarding. Never once. Not a single time. I've been once. Well, I've been cross country skiing too. That's brutal. It's a workout. I don't get it. I was supposed to go cross skiing once and then I had a city league basketball game that I stayed back to go to rather. You didn't miss much, my friend. Yeah. I think skiing on flat ground. Doesn't that sound like a good time? Not at all. It's beautiful. It's very pretty. Yeah. I'm with you. There's sorry. Sorry. Tourism board of Utah. But sports are our poll right now. And when we get Major League Baseball, which is going to happen in my opinion, that's going to be a poll as well. People are going to want to make the trip out to
Utah to come and watch their favorite Major League Baseball team play. See, I'm going to disagree with you there. I don't think they are. Look at how many people come to watch hockey. Half the arena is freaking Chicago Black Hawk fans. Yeah, but they live here. Boston Bruins fans. I bet a lot of them do. But a lot of them make the trip out. I obviously, I'll disagree. I don't think that I don't think that many road fans come here for hockey. I think they're mostly just fans that live here of those of those teams. They're sure there's a lot of them. I know. Well, it's because we haven't had a hockey team. They're all, yeah, they live here. I don't know. I think there's quite a few that make the trip out here. I don't think so. I'd be shocked just like when their football teams play. Yeah, but here's the other thing too is there aren't a lot of road. Now that I think about it, I go to BYU and Utah games. There aren't a lot of road fans there. Like now when you have a big time team like Oklahoma or Arkansas come in and that's why I'm interested because I went to
the BYU Arkansas a few years ago, a lot of Arkansas fans. And then so Saturday night, I wonder how many Arkansas fans will be in that stadium. But like big 12 fan bases. Kansas state travel a lot down to Provo. They do okay. Yeah. I'm trying to because other than that, like there has not been a lot of road fans, which by the way, that's why BYU and ASU should play every year because I've that they'll travel pretty well. Just like there are a ton of BYU fans, not as many ASU fans up here as BYU fans in Tempe, but it's an easy drive to make and to or flight and it's easy to get here. But other, I mean, other fan bases that travel well in the big 12 there aren't. Well, I'll tell you what, there's not going to be a lot of Arizona fans here. No, Saturday. That's that's one fan base that shocks me when BYU played Arizona in Las Vegas a couple of years ago. I was at that game down in Las Vegas. Not a lot like the BYU side was pretty much sold out and then it was just spotty from the U of A side. It's right in the middle between the two. Well, it's football. They in eight and a
half hour drive to Vegas. Yeah, they don't they're not they're not spending their money on traveling for football. True because they take you saw you went to a chance a chance to go to Vegas. Plus it's the first game of the season. That was back at that time. It was the first game of the season. So you don't know how bad your team is yet. Like there's there's hope on the horizon, right? Yeah. So and then the just nobody shows up. I'm with you. But if you have a certain amount of income, you go, okay, should I save my money and go to the conference basketball tournament or the NCAA tournament where we're going to maybe be a sweet 16 final 14 or am I going to go travel for football? Yeah. I think that's I think that's the reason because for basketball, they take over you know, neutral side arenas. And that's why they would love for the big 12 to move that tournament to Vegas. Yeah. Because they which they should they yeah. It is rotated. Yeah, everyone gets honest for this. I know. Kansas City's great. Man, if you've been to a basketball
tournament in Vegas, pretty fun. I've also been to Kansas City. I don't know if I would say it's great. Yeah. So I'm it's still a little cold in March. Not gonna lie. That's true. Because I'm trying to think who else travels really well in the big 12. For basketball or just anything. I mean, for basketball, that of course you're going to get Kansas, Kansas state, all those fans go to the big 12 tournament every year. But but your Iowa State fans travel really well to that too. That's true. That's right there. But yeah, for football, not a lot of big 12 fanbases coming coming out here. I think the ones if I was state was better, I would I would bet I was state travels pretty well. Yeah. They've got a pretty passionate fan base, but they need to be better. Yeah. They're not going to travel this year because I don't think they're going to be very good. Oklahoma State could travel some fans, but I don't remember a lot of orange being there when they played BYU a year or two ago. No, I don't either. Yeah. All right, 877 3530 700 is that sick, Frieden Jensen text in line coming your way next. What did Kelly Kenny Billingham have to
say about BYU fans and putting one second back on the clock? Do you remember that situation down in Tempe? That was a classic between those two teams. We'll talk about that. Plus for the college football teams you care about wins losses and everything in between. We talk it through on 103 9 and 98 three ESPN the fan. This is price and BMG in the morning. One of these two years for the old days where a little scuffle went unpunished. Now our test is just over the scores table. Our test is in the stands. The others are more distinguished gentlemen that's just trying to become more in touch with this Italian roots. Lots of double cool. Oh, time. On 103 9 and 98 three ESPN. Well, fan. All right, wrapping up our number two, they had a clock hour on this Thursday, September 10th. It is 853 up and down the mosaics front live in our downtown Salt Lake City.
Santa Quinn Ford Studios right here on Bryce and BYU Nucci your chance to win a pair of tickets to Weezer in concert. They're not on ice. They're in concert. You imagine Weezer on ice. I was looking pretty bad as though. It would be impressive is what it would be. Your chance to win a pair of tickets to Weezer at the Maverick Center coming up on the 15th of September, which just happens to be next Tuesday, Jordan. It's not very often that we do it give away and the concert is like next week. It's really true. It's usually six months in advance. So this is your chance to get instant gratification essentially where you could get these tickets and then use them coming up next Tuesday, September the 15th. Your chance right here right now via the SIG Frieden Jensen text in line. We just got done with the solid conversation on why people travel to the state of Utah. Why are people traveling here to the state of Utah? Right. Tell us why. What is it? I think a lot of people will say obviously it's skiing.
Skinging outdoors. Number one, not even close. So we're going to ask you via the SIG Frieden Jensen text in line. Tell us some things that Jordan and I can go do that are not outdoors. We're not outdoors guys. We don't want to hike. We don't want to fish or ski or do any of that stuff. It's just, you know, swear to God if anyone puts a hike in the text in line, I'll lose it. I will lose it. What else can we go do here in the state of Utah that's not an outdoorsy activity and the best submission that we receive on the SIG Frieden Jensen text in line at 877-3530-700. We're going to win a pair of tickets to go see Weezer next Tuesday. And so, Elmi, if any of you smart asses text in or like, you guys should go see Weezer next Tuesday. I mean, that would be pretty fun. So once again, that text in line 877-3530-700 give us some activities that we can go and enjoy. And maybe you'll win a pair of tickets here to Weezer coming up on Tuesday.
But this is what we're doing. We're outsourcing our weekend plans to the listeners. There you go. That's exactly right. Taylor Kram checks in with us on the conversation and he says, you guys forgot that people come here and are drawn here because of their natural curiosity. Of the Mormons. He says, heck, I was born and made and that's what pulled my mom over here. It's like the ninth natural wonder of the world. Thank you, Taylor. That's funny. That is funny. I don't think you're wrong. I think you're right. There is surely some curiosity there that people are like, let's just go check it out. You know, let's see how these people are. Yeah. What's happening here? Let's go to the zoo. See the Mormons. Let's go to the promontory point. What's that? This is the place. Thank you. Right out of immigration, Canyon. By the way, our friend Shad Sonders texted me and he said that his son, who's an actor and was in the last reckoning that was on started. And he was great. He says, you can go visit him at his play at this is the place.
Stay part of the odds. I just said that exactly. And tour the historic village. Great minds. Think of like shout out. Yeah. Chad, I got I got news for you, man. If that's the draw, not outdoors draw. Okay, but here's the thing though. Similarly, like I went to Boston, maybe a little bit different. I went to a place that was a printing press there and they showed me how they would print the letters onto like, you know, the declaration of independence and different things like that. Or like the pamphlet that my man wrote. That type of stuff. My man. Yeah. Thomas Paine. Yeah. Common sense. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So similarly, I mean, like that, I don't know. Maybe some people are interested in that. Oh, I a lot of people are going to be speaking of tailors like in connection. I have some friends that own some businesses in the Salt Lake Airport. And they told me that the Salt Lake Temple open house that's happening is going to bring in a ton of people from around
the entire world. So that right there, I mean, to Taylor's point, yeah, people are curious. But yeah, there's a reason why people come for that type of thing. That surprises me because I'm interested in that because I like history. Yeah. And I live here. And so going to the temple open house is fascinating to me because just the historic aspect of that building. But outsiders, that is fascinating because I would not think outsiders that would really register with them. Yeah. Well, they told apparently the Salt Lake Airport has pitched all of the businesses a presentation in there to say, make sure you're at your tip top best for the next year and a half when this is happening because there's going to be millions of people that come through that airport just to go and see that building, which is incredible. Non-mormons. I would assume a lot of them probably are of the faith, but they could be bringing their friends that are not. Okay. Yeah.
I bet it's a good mix. I'll be interested. I want to, yeah. Okay. We'll bookmark this discussion. Okay. I want to see how many people actually come in from out. That's interesting. Yeah. My mom texted me and said, go to the Springville Art Museum. Mom, that's not helping at all. Like, I'm sure it's a fine art museum. But, but, whoa. I mean, I'll go. I'm sure it's really nice. I'll go check it out. I will absolutely check it out. But, but if that's the draw, we may have a little bit of a problem. The natural history museum up at the use pool. Okay. You and I are museum guys. I love a lot of museum texts. I love Scott getting in on the conversation on the text in line. Scott texts in and says, how about the MLM conventions? There we go. So he's got this is the problem. Now do you guys are going to Weezer? Let me tell you. All right. Boy, do I have an opportunity for you? It's hard to be a new. All I need you to do is go and find four more people. Pyramids,
it's not a pyramid. Well, it does not even go. That's not what it is. Keep them coming. If you want some tickets to go see Weezer this upcoming Tuesday, 877-3530-700, things that people want to go do that in Utah, things that Jordan and I can go and do across the state of Utah. That's not an outdoors, you think? You know, it was great. One of my favorite things to do every year was a Sundance. That was phenomenal. Oh, wait. That's not here anymore. What about October fest? That'd be fun. Yeah. Up at Snowbird. That would be really fun because it's really pretty up there. In fact, where did I go? Is it Sundance? Do they do plays up there at Sundance? You're asking the wrong guy. I think there's I think it's high. I don't remember some of the 10s. I know they do plays down south at the Tukon. That's a good one. But they do plays up the canyon. I think it's Sundance and I went up there and that was awesome. That's gorgeous. That's a great spot. That's a good one. That's a really good one. Okay. All right. There you go. Keep them coming. 877-3530-700 on that Siegfried and
Jensen text in line. Taylor checking in with us again, saying I just asked Chad G.P.T. and gave me the most boring things like Art Center said Museums. Like Art Center said. He said, looks like y'all are so well if you know what that means. boring things. I like the my friend worked at the Utah Museum of Modern Art. And it's good. It depends on the exhibit. When it comes for me, when it comes to modern art. I mean, I'm into some of it. Others I'm like, it's not hidden. Okay. All right. We got some more text coming in. Yeah. 637-7 checks in with the saying, go visit the Olympic Park and Park City. You can tube down and ski. Tube down the ski jump. They've got a thrill for any level. That's a good text. I didn't think of that. That's good. Does that count as outdoorsy though? I'm not going to count that as outdoorsy. Okay. Because it doesn't take a
ton of like mental or not. It doesn't take a ton of like physical exertion exertion. Yeah. I think that's the where we're going to. We're very lazy. If you haven't noticed, not big fans of getting outdoors and like all golf. I love golfing in fact. Yeah. There's a little bit of physical exertion there. I like, but not a ton. No. I like biking. Yeah, miss me with that one. Well, they hear me out on this. I like biking with me. Bike. You like biking and tell you bomb a hill and crash. Dude, my back. I'm still, I feel like I'm 75 years old. I just, everything hurts. I didn't realize how bad it was to I saw you with your bandaid on the elbow. I know. I'm pretty nice. I'm totally scraped on my side of my elbow. Road rash. Yeah. It was not good. I like, no. I've gotten into the biking on the Jordan River trail. I shouldn't have said that now all our fans are going to be costing me on the Jordan River trail. We're very famous. Yeah. I shouldn't have given
that away. I like everybody. It's bad. Oh, I'd say it's worth. We're the Beatles. That's that's the problem. Can't go anywhere. The biking is fun. Hear me out. I do this. It's great exercise, but it's not regular. You go with the e-bike because then when you're tired, you're just like, all right, I'm done. I'm zoom in home. Yeah. It's fantastic. That's a good point. You would, I think you might like it. It's a really good point. And you could haul on those things too. Oh, yeah. That makes it fun. Well, that's the scary part. You don't want to. I no longer haul on those. Tyler Stadick checks in with us this morning saying locals take them for granted. But outside of Utah, the people come to see the Kennacot copper mine. Okay. Annelope Island and promontory point. Promontory point is cool. I've been there. Kennacot. You're absolutely right. We get a cut. Cool. Kennacot is remarkable. It's pretty incredible. Annelope, I always gets me when people, because you're right. I've had
my friends that are from out of state and have never been, they will come in and be like, yeah, I want to go out to the spiral jetty and Annelope Island. And you're like, what the why? I was like, I've been your Annelope Island. I still have mosquito bites from that. You know what? Similarly, the salt flats bring that. That's a ton of people out there. Exactly. Damn right. It's because of pirates of the Caribbean. Don't be afraid. Only No, it's true. Like we take that one for granted. And because we've driven by it a billion times on our way to wherever. Yeah. And but no, you got to let you get out of that head space of I live here. And the salt flats are incredible. It's the most. It's insane. It's surreal. How cool it is. My buddy, I should get him online. He does tours. That's his job. He's a company. And he does private tours for people. All of them go, want to go to the salt flats. That's awesome. I like that. All right. Austin checks in with us this morning saying, hit up all of Utah's world famous swigs after consuming all of those dirty Dr. Peppers and pink cookies. Use that fuel
to rock out to a live MoTab concert. Thanks Austin. Great. That's awesome. I'm in. Sounds that music in the spoken word on Sunday gone. I'm there. I'm with just over here with the tabernacle from the crossroads of the West. I love it. All right. 905 right here on Bryson P. Nucho. We are going to choose a winner of our Weezer tickets.
