Apply today at americanexpress.com slash explore dash gold. Terv's apply. Hello everybody, welcome to Rewinded Dynamite. It is John Pollock and Waiting. We're going live and we're going free at the moment as we are going to be kicking off with a full look at tonight's tribute edition of dynamite to the late Ben Saturday pack as the show was dedicated toward and I think way that this is a show that it is ridiculous to even like necessarily call this like a great wrestling show. What this really was was the this was his like professional funeral that we were witness to and that his friends and colleagues mourned for two and a half hours and that was how the show was structured.

Yeah very much so. I think the nature of pro wrestling and the way it's produced in modern times. I mean strangely a little house for things like this to take place. The fact that it's wrestling is constant. It's live typically and it's reactive. You know to real life events. You get moments like this where I mean they do really feel like they are sort of like memorials. Well I mean this was a memorial but also like a funeral service of sorts and it's incredibly like emotionally taxing but I also think it's incredibly like wonderful that like you know certainly these performers and I think they're like the the greater wrestling community at large who really really like you know felt a lot about this person like get a chance to perhaps you know to grieve to grieve. I mean whatever like these are performers and this was their

way of paying tribute like look what happened on this show that like Kenny Omega came back for this show Mercedes Monet came back for this show Brian Danielson came back for this show. These people would not have been wrestling on this show that is like right there what this performer meant to them and many others on the show that I am sure this was an unbelievably difficult day to tackle but one of which I'm sure they all wanted to pay play some role on this show that is their grieving process that I think you know a performer would want to go out and do but what you got was like a two and a half hour show that was you know obviously it is there's not been an a W show like this to this degree like we just had the butcher tribute show a few weeks ago

but this was just at such an emotional level from a locker room that just shared that locker room with this individual a few days ago it's yeah I thought that by the end of this you just saw this as like it was just it was a beautiful show in many ways it really was yeah um like tough you know to watch but like tough in I think like the greatest ways like that to me is almost the greatest compliment you can give us or like this it should be tough this is tough and to be able to like at least bottle like a small percentage of the actual emotion that these people you know his loved ones his family are are feeling into a show um I mean it it was tremendously done and I mean in the few minutes that I've since watched it I I I do feel like it's probably I think the best I never maybe want to sort of like rank these but like as far as like

um this is gonna be a program that you're never going to forget much like the Brody Lee episode like you're never going to forget this show it's going to leave a lasting impact on anyone who watched it or um had been a follower of packs for so long and for many I mean that that spans years if not decades that those have been following him and these people that have been working with him like ex-caliber here was like it was a miracle this guy got through the broadcast because you could see how just affected he was knowing this individual for 20 years and being very instrumental in bringing him over and booking him for pwg back in 2006 when he was like two years into the industry yeah of course we also have to like make me mention of the fact that I mean this is a roster um that has uh it's still very it's still very much still grieving over Andy Williams and to have to like create two of these shows plus the Rebel Tribute Show in in the span of like a few weeks

is so incredibly devastating and I I just um the amount of courage that I think was displayed by by the entire production and it's not just the people on screen but the people behind the the scenes that are responsible for for doing this I I can't imagine I really can't imagine and all that said I thought they they provided um I think the best wrestling tribute show I have like ever seen I mean it's it's a small thing but I think it goes to the amount of tact and care that they went to that this show number one it featured no angles there was nothing to promote their next pay-per-view there was nothing to promote uh France next week there was nothing to promote collision on Saturday like this was all about a self-contained show that this was all about pack and no one would have complained if they made some match announcements or anything like that

but it was like that was not what tonight was about we are not selling you anything tonight we are driving home that we have lost this individual tonight is about that person and they they did not want to be in any type of promotional role on the show and that to me was very noticeable throughout the two and a half hours yeah like this is not a you know a typical show with with the intent of pushing even like the fallout from all out not like it was everybody was here for a greater purpose than anything fictitious they were here to number one you know um I think entertain um which is I think like you know the function of a professional wrestling um and they were here to again like leave a leave a great lasting memory of you know this person for one last time yeah I mean you got the loosest of of heels on that this show like really it was just everyone was coming out performing like you got

you know the extent of the Don Callis family but this was really like this was not a night about you know baby faces and heels this was like everyone going out and just performing like that that was what this was if there were heels they were there strictly with the rule of giving the audience a great heroic moment by seeing the you know the baby faces win and and the heels all I mean of course everybody did a great job of that well we're going to go into the show and uh discuss our thoughts on it this was at the Peterson event center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania earlier uh this week they had announced uh that Will Osprey would be taking on ricochet in one of the tribute matches and then today we got the announcement of several other matches including the addition of Mercedes Monet to team with Britt Baker and Persephone making that a six woman tag with Marina Schaffer added to Thunder Rosa and high-end side of things as well plus John Moxley and Orange Cassidy the elite reuniting

the the four of Kenny Omega who we have not seen since all in the Young Box and Hangman page against members of the Don Callis family and then there would be an additional 10 man tag that got announced midway through the match that midway through the show that was simply death riders versus Don Callis family but we start off and we have a graphic for pack and you get the crowd chanting for him there's this uh the whole set is decorated with graphics of of him photos um and ex-caliber is alone at the desk and this one really hit me away because it was like this was just deja vu to a few weeks ago when ex-caliber was tasked with delivering kind of his eulogy about Andy Williams and here he is in the same position just a few weeks later and again he is like struggling to get through this calling pack a relentless perfectionist a warm and supportive

person and he's just trying to hold it together and then later in the night you would get him talking about like his history with him and as he got going like it really struck him at various points of the night uh when talking about the the sky that he has known for 20 years there are a lot of very understandable um gaps in silence on the commentary tonight and um I'd you know he didn't you didn't have to see him to to know what what he was probably going through and um you know a lot of credit to him for bearing this responsibility to start this show off and to deliver yet again another beautifully you know composed message um the way he did for I mean you know just a massive responsibility he helped and he had an amazing partner tonight because I thought Tony Shivani was so excellent on tonight's show he was inside the ring to state that here in a w were a family and we were grief-stricken on Sunday with this news we still feel that way and that a pack gave us a

lesson it was to learn to be kind to everyone and be nice and then he throws to this video that was shot after all out and this was the typical like post pay-per-view match promos that they always shoot that we get on the Wednesday of various matches and this one will probably be a speech you are never going to forget because it was chilling to watch this and it is the death writers post main event john moxley slumped against a wall flanked by the fellow members of the death writers including pack which would be his final appearance on on video um be for the next day and moxley gives us long speech that he gave everything he had osprey was better and part of the game is you're going to lose you lose and wrestling you lose in life you lose people and you lose opportunities and you don't get what you deserve and he asks well what are you going to do

every day is a gift you get back up you try again this is a gift what we get to do walking out in front of a sold out crowd like tonight and he says osprey is the best he has earned all he has earned is more hard work and says that there are two types of eulogies one is this is what this guy the other is this who that this is who this guy was and he knows what eulogy he wants to have they have been gifted with this place that meaning eight w where the future of pro wrestling is in the palm of their hands they can make it whatever they want it to be so take this gift do something with it and then he he walks off and then one by one each member of the death writers exits with pack being the last one standing there and then he walks off I will never have this image out of my head yeah almost like shocking to see like these words unfold um this was like the ultimate warrior

speech to me way that's the first thing I thought of like it was just so chilling that the this was the promo and I am sure there would be some that would look at this and think like this is just too close to the bone to air I am really glad they did because I thought it was like this really powerful impactful image and words that accompanied it um yeah I mean I just like this is to see this it was it was haunting in some ways yeah um so you know moxley like nobody can deliver a promo like this like like him and much of I think his promos um kind of like virgin to this sort of like territory anyway but these specific words um like mentioning you know just like the eulogies the eulogies and living your life though you know like this is what this guy did this is who this guy was I mean you have to really wonder like what the

inspiration for that might maybe and I mean you know I've seen at least like some discussion out there that that is suggesting perhaps this was like all in the shadow remember of Andy Williams and maybe there was some inspiration taken just based off of those recent events that informed his creation of this pack um like kind of walking off last I mean I felt it was very clear they were teasing some sort of like pack moxley you know like tension that may have been foreshadowed through this scene but you thought as much on on Saturday like you even made that point yeah but man in effect it just somehow it resulted in in something that that feels completely different and and way bigger than that and it's just one of those things that man the universe perhaps just kind of put out there I can only imagine the editor's reaction to who may at first like you know grab this footage the like

it Tony cons first reaction upon seeing this perhaps you know after knowing this had taken place and I mean again a lot of things were just like you can't you couldn't have like planned for any of this it just it just happened and I think obviously they all knew the significance of this moment in this situation and these words and this footage so much so that they put this right into the start of the show before the 10 bell salute so everybody knew um I don't know just how that this was the last assurance the quote unquote last performance of pack's career that they can't do the 10 bell salute till we see the final moment of him as a performer but also the weight of these particular words and how strangely they they applied for the moment it was yeah it was just chill hard to hard to yeah hard to explain to somebody who doesn't who isn't like who doesn't know like all this like professional wrestling you know yeah like the

reaction to this like this crowd is applauding this because like for for many reasons like this is they're they're goodbye to pack in the moment like this is the final time we'll see him on camera in this type of a setting and this is um like yeah I'm sure they were um hit hit by just absorbing this as well so we come back from that and then Tony leads them in a 10 bell salute and at this point members of the roster the entire staff team they're all out on the stage and you can see some people just completely breaking down as the as the 10 bell salute is uh is done and they segue to the death writers music and throughout the night they had an empty chair from the side of the building where the death writers enter with packs towel on it and this would be the disturbing packs entrance you know it was his his entrance specifically where he sits yeah and so he outcomes John Moxley and for his match with orange Cassidy and

brife's runsberg is the referee here and um you know he he was just um inconsolable during the 10 bell salute and then had to go and referee this match orange Cassidy like just looks devastated as he's coming out and that's sort of like what they that's sort of the story of this match is like this is not orange Cassidy the performer it's like this is a guy grieving his friend that as the match progresses he gets more into like orange Cassidy the character as he would get going and stuff but like the bell rings and he's just like in the corner like absorbing all this like looking up and Moxley Moxley is just like stoic and that was sort of his demeanor throughout a lot of this yeah yeah I mean it's important to really kind of remember what we're watching here we're not watching two like characters you know about to have a fight we're watching you know men step up men and women step up to to give their speech in the way

they know how to their you know friend and uh it's I mean it again it just I I can't imagine the amount of courage and the difficulty in having to like do this on a stage when um this wound is still so incredibly fresh you saw it on a lot of people tonight and like the match begins and like I don't think this crowd even knew like how are we to react to this like they are like this this fan base is absorbing all of this too and they've just gone through like this video this 10 bell salute and now it's like we're watching wrestling and we can't just like flip a switch and suddenly like we're in party mode for a wrestling match and you could see Moxley understood this and it wasn't until he lifted up orange Cassidy and he just held him for like 45 seconds tease in a pile driver and he's literally just waving his arms almost like it's permission for the fans

to act like fans and they start cheering and cheering but I think Wade like this audience like they did not know how to even react here because like they are in this similar state as well for the first couple of minutes of the match agreed yeah it was one of those were like I think I think everybody was seeing on the performance faces I think everybody was there feeling it themselves and it was just the sort of mood where like you weren't really in the mood to to get up and even like make that much noise but to see Moxley somebody who was probably as close to him as really any like encouraged the audience and maybe just signal to the audience hey like do this because I think maybe this is what you know maybe his friend would have wanted like we are here to to celebrate not just just the more um maybe that seemed to lift people spirits I mean you know it's it's a it's a very strange sort sort of like thank again that I imagine is

incredibly difficult to explain to somebody who may not be a fan of professional wrestling orange does his role across the ring to the floor then rolls to the other end frustrating Moxley and then he starts fighting back it's his first bit of sustained offense including a satellite DDT goes to the top and Moxley does the role out to the floor and at this point John Moxley doing any semblance of orange Cassidy spots was going to be a big win for this crowd and Cassidy just like nods in approval watching Moxley do the the log rule and he lands an orange punch Moxley responds with a cutter both are down and it's the the limp kicks from Cassidy met with forearm strikes and then after taking a super kick it is Moxley delivering the limp kicks which I will I will say 99.9% chance we will never ever see this man ever do again in any kind of a setting and

Cassidy puts his hands in the pockets and Moxley raises his hands and this crowd they are so intrigued to see him do the hands in the pockets but then just before putting them in gives Cassidy the middle fingers he eats several more orange punches there's a stun dog Moxley takes the back but gets crucifixed blocks the beach break and then does a running pack style lary it goes for the brutalizer but it gets countered orange gets the brutalizer but it's Moxley escaping hitting a stop and the death rider to pin Cassidy in 17 minutes and 18 seconds as these two had the tough task of starting off this show and trying to take this from like a very very emotional start to the show and try to get into the wrestling portion that people are here for as well. Yeah it was an oddly like very emotional match as all the matches tonight were but this one following so closely to the start of the show in the 10-bills salute and it being Moxley and

seeing like the look on Cassidy and Bryce's face like I thought just I mean made made the tone of this like kind of like challenging you know I'm sure for everybody to just get into but I thought the levity brought in from John Moxley doing the orange Cassidy spots were just a great choice for the moment because it just it just allowed you to smile you know because it just it was hilarious and to see Moxley do any sort of comedy is such a rare sight but also I think much needed you know for for this particular evening. I think like the match kind of followed like that that tone as well that like much of the crowd was they were not in this jovial mood like an orange Cassidy and with as the match got going then it was like Cassidy getting more and more into it that the crowd kind of followed suit as well and Moxley is seated is seated in the ring and all of a sudden Brian Danielson comes out and the man is in tears wearing a

pack shirt that all of everyone had this is the shirt that they are selling and and funds are going to be donated from and to his family to his family yes and he just stands there in the ring the crowd is chanting holy shit and then they embrace with a big hug they chant he's our bastard and this was like the the wrap up of like a two year storyline that they have still maintained with Danielson on commentary all these years later about Moxley and what he did to him kicking him out and putting the bag over his head that this was sort of like the the end of this and you're thinking this is just sort of like a hey here's a reason to just you know give people a moment here but then obviously like there would be a further reason for this to be able to put this match together later in the night yeah you know like is there storyline reason for this I mean I don't

I don't know I like maybe later on they'll come up with one but it almost does it better because like again a moment like this sort of blurs the lines between like real and fiction and I think it does it really well it's you you can assume the idea I mean the look on Danielson's face when he was walking out I mean just full full of emotion but um it's sort of like to me the way I interpret it is if I have to come with the storyline for it it's that John Moxley I think is like the ultimate tough guy right he he hides the emotion really well you know like if you expect anybody you know to be emotional maybe it would be him but he he comes into this match and you wouldn't wouldn't really see it on his face and I feel like Danielson simply like you know saw his brother and felt that may need to hug and that's what he came up to provide he gave this you know his his former friend of hug and you know it's simply just just provided I think a wonderful like cathartic moment for an audience that that was looking for something like that you know storyline

be be damned and now like in the story this will make perfect sense anyway anyway it just provided another like a very meaningful visual and not to mention the fact that like all throughout the night they you know the the the cameraman and the directors were able to make great use of this imagery of pack on these screens to create some some incredible visuals of him looking on these particular moments like you see here in this still shot yeah it is a great way to end this portion of the show throughout the night they also had video messages that they shot earlier in the day I would imagine they did a bunch of these because you could see they were edited down and I'm sure there were plenty of other performers that didn't make the broadcast that I would I would think that they're gonna upload all of these and I mean you you don't even need to have the volume on you could just watch the like these people that are just broken describing this man and and it said it all just in visual form and hangman is the first one who said that a guy nicknamed the bastard

was the kindest and most welcoming person he said he had gotten closest with him over the past couple of months and had told him how much he admired him wishes he could say how much he loves wishes he could say how much that he loved wrestling and the people that do it he cared about everyone so much he's going to miss him as well and I mean he just he just breaks down at the end of this he can't even like finish this he's just so just emotionally spent here reflecting on him yeah it's um I mean you know these wounds are still incredibly fresh and yeah man if like today it was also the first day all of these people would have been able to see their colleagues and console each other and you have to imagine just a statement which like the guys would have even sat down and having had these sort of interactions like right before recording it's just so incredibly fresh and I mean you're you're hard to sprax you know hearing them but again of course

it's all it also shows you how much this guy meant to all these people two editions of rewind away highlight the October menu at the post wrestling cafe we are going to be chatting about TNA lockdown featuring team angle against team cage and a legendary horrible blindfold match between the members of america's most wanted then we have a review of summer slam 2001 featuring steve austin against Kurt angle and the rock against booker t reviews of tna bound for glory maple leaf pro wrestling's northern rising ufc 333 king of pro wrestling and we will roll the calls by areyam annual on book club plus polycantine talk and it is time for nirvana the band the show the movie the review all of that at post wrestling cafe dot com eight dollars a month supports post wrestling that sets up the reunion of kenny omega the young bucks and hangman page who come out to face kyle fletcher kevin night trend and rocky rameiro kyle fletcher has a packed towel as well no donk

Alice on can commentary he just stood in the corner and I thought that was a like a worthy call of like not having donk Alice do is stick for that this match you didn't even have a heel commented on the show you know i'm well or at least like you didn't have ties or i guess Nigel like i wonder if that was any sort of specific choice yeah it was just a two man booth all night until moxley says a satin rocky's doing his dance in the corner and gets blocked by page and omega so like you got some fun spots with page and omega like rekindling like their their tag team spots in this and you know even hangman doing like the handstand head scissors assisted kick with the box as well just a lot of like fun stuff involving these four a strong zero was attempted to mat but nick made the save as they go to break and they get the heat on mat page eventually gets a hot tag and he goes after everybody and omega then extends his hand page tags omega and omega go wild with snap dragons there's a

v-trigger to Trent that gets stopped by a michin oku driver and then night springboards into a v-trigger in mid air setting up the elite to do a four way super kick and then we get the you can't escape into four succinct dives in unison with one another as omega finishes the you can't escape the bucks come off the top with a splash and elbow and the orriah haramoon salt by page to the floor with this great overhead shot encompassing all of them for one night only the buck shot v-trigger is revived from hangman and omega on to romero followed by the bte trigger and one wing in the angel on to Trent as they win in 14 minutes and two seconds and the four just hug afterwards yeah you know it was you know even even for this like again this was a night just about like none of these storylines existed it was like nothing was off the table even like way it's

it sounds crass but like there are promoters that would look at you know having Danielson come back for a match or the elites reunion it's like man we could build up to something big like that none of that mattered on this show like they they put things on here like an osprey ricochet match like everything was on the table here to give the the best possible show that is not thinking about like the traditional ways that any promotion would even in a situation like this no i mean to tonight was was almost like it was like an offering and like you know like sometimes in in um like a sort of like uh funeral services that that like we do in like my my culture um like you would burn things like you know to to kind of like give to the person in the afterlife and like they be things like you know like whatever like paper sort of like trinkets of gold and like you know like fake paper money just to like you don't give to people in the afterlife but like the idea is

that you you you give your best to this person regardless of like i don't know whether or not make sense i mean this is not burning money but i mean in some ways it is burning money but you there were a lot of money making um aspects to tonight's show that was not about making money absolutely give your best you break out your very best bottle of champagne that you might have been saving for that i mean whatever i'm not champion sorry whatever i don't know what people drink um you know in these sort of situations but you you you give your best every match tonight felt special for some particular reason and this was this was one of those you know seeing the reformation of the elite tonight next was cash wheeler who um again uh devastated he said he was the pack was one of the best people he has ever encountered um and just loves the guy j white uh we hear from immediately after and says how much pack meant to the locker room and how highly he thought of him he said that he would try to emulate pack but at one sixteenth of

the speed pack was in a league of his own he was the perfect wrestler and the greatest man and he still is waiting for Ben to show up for pack appreciation night and wishes that god will look over his wife family and uh friends um i i just thought this was like it was um you know all of these were extremely heartfelt but i think this was like a pretty wonderful summary of uh somebody that he you know tried to emulate but it was more so like so much of this it like it was not about this incredible wrestler it was about this guy that left quite a personal impression on a lot of these people yeah and people that you wouldn't even expect like i don't know if jay would impact have had too much like on screen interaction um like throughout their history at least not that i'm really aware of but behind the scenes are even just like as as an influence you know um there there's just so much more i think connection that this man has like left others then

i think we would we would ever know just simply observing his fans and and to me jay white might have been one of those i thought some i mean in the case of cash wheeler somebody who i mean really could not hold it together um and and i think you know exemplifies again just how deep maybe his bond with pack was in the case of j um he was able to put a lot of that emotion into just some beautiful words that that you got to hear the next segment was Renee at ringside and she had a statement from the family that she not only had to read she had to read it to the entire arena on the speakers i do not know how this woman was able to keep it together and deliver this speech and she states that we are completely devastated to have lost our beautiful bend but the love and support that we have received from every corner of the globe has been helping us get through these last few awful days while he will always have a legacy as one of the best wrestlers in the uk that has ever been produced we have been so glad to see so many wonderful tributes that

acknowledged who Ben was as a person he exemplified what it meant to be a decent human being an honorable man with principles who adored his family and his sausage dog wolfie Ben loved new castle united he loved reggae and hip hop he loved a night out dancing with his wife and friends and spending time with his parents who now must mourn their only child Ben had a long and illustrious career in this business that took him all over the world and in late 2018 he met Tony Khan who changed his life forever Tony's faith and Ben was never lost on him and he was always committed to giving the best performance he possibly could Ben was so happy and proud to be part of this AEW family in an encouraging and caring environment that he could feel at ease in he made some wonderful friends with his time in this company we cannot be more thankful to everybody at AEW for all their help and navigating this tragedy they have been truly phenomenal Tony Khan is a great man in this business is lucky to have someone like him thank you for light lightning hour load and thank you to Ben's fans over the years and have been moved to see everyone say such nice things we love you Ben and

our lives will never be the same from the satterly family I do not know how Renee was able to get through this entire thing because it was heartbreaking to transcribe this I could not have imagined reading this and she did it like flawlessly yeah well number one she she's she's an incredible professional um to the highest degree but even somebody as professional as she is I think has their limits and and what seems to really get her was talking about while reading the words that her parents wrote the packed parents wrote about now having to go on through life missing their only child I mean like it's just it is heartbreaking on such such another level for two parents to lose a child and I don't know if that detail really sunk in with people before like hearing this in their words as well yeah yeah so I I'm really glad this like I mean the family had

had some sort of presence on the show because that that is the deepest bond that um we won't be aware of ourselves watching from the side um but but they are the most affected by by this it was followed by swerve and the new level coming up with prince nana um the oscan creed was just um you know he was not able to hold back his tears um you know many people have been going back and seeing their clips together obviously they were very tight kofi two um they just held up the trio spelt's laid them down on the mat as they they explained on the commentary of course packs connection to these belts obviously and just put the towel on on top of them and that was their tribute to to him before they went to break the announced that pack um spent nearly a year combined as a trio's champion between the death triangle and the death riders so um you know like the the belts he he perhaps is is most most like two in a w and maybe even like I wonder you know if there could be some some

some sort of like annual commemorative thing they could they could do you know in his honor um related to to the division or or something I you know I wonder yeah I mean whether it be something with those trios titles or even something tied in with with full gear I think like those are things you could um look look at the potentially next was rica shea who reflected saying that you always think you have more time he talked about his history um basically roaming with pack when they were together in dragon gate staying in kobe and just always looking up to him um and how he went about his life said it was like losing a big brother uh that's what he feels like he's lost here and it's like he's very composed here and he's going through this and it like he just hits like this point where it feels like you know the exact moment that like the weight of this is just so much as he's verbalizing it and he basically has to just wrap this up uh at the end

and takes us into our next match to rica shea and will osprey the first time they have done this match in almost two years since the continental classic and um again there there's no illusion of like the demand even trying to be heels here osprey comes out hugs the members of g o a as a Tony brings up shivani brings up uh osprey's match with pack from all out 2024 which is an incredible incredible match um and Tony saying like one of his favorites that he had ever seen um we have baili and draude and francesco akira in osprey's corner and rica shea and will just kneel at the beginning they hold one another and give each other a hug before starting and this is when it is announced that to nicon has made a ten man tag main event pitting the death riders against the don callus family for later on this is when ex calibre just starts talking about like the influence pack had and his history with him and you can see him just um just tearing up and dude

shivani just he was just in command and just was just understood like to just keep going um i just thought like like shivani just um understood what his role was on this show and just he was he was taken the lead on this broadcast tonight in in some ways rica shea it's a fosbury flop and he's in control for a bit drops osprey's throat onto the rail and then takes a big belly to belly from will into the guard rail and it will with a spinning ddt and you get rica shea taking a ddt in very pack like fashion um pretty much just spiking his head um there were several like uh pack tribute spots in this match venexplash off the second turnbuckle by rica shea and then osprey scales up the buckle for a poison rana but rica shea lands on his feet they exchanged poison ranas and that took me back i know people have posted this in the last couple of days but still like that that spot when osprey

is he's like being interviewed on the stage and pack sneaks up from behind him and give some a poison rana out of nowhere and it's just it's just the most ridiculous sneak attack with a poison rana and a like flawlessly executed one um but that certainly brought me back to to that spot um so they trade the poison ranas both are down and we see rica shea with a shooting star press with osprey bent over so he comes down on like his hunched over back then hits a regular the shooting star pyle which um i mean ex ex caliber explain it was also something packed did this is a clip that's also resurfaced recently a pack doing one of these indragon gate um i don't know if it was intent meant to be intentional at the time but it was fucking cool as hell and and um rica shea seem to be attribute to it here he hit he uh will duck to spirit gun hits the styles clash and rica shea kicks out and then we get a hidden blade by will but he eyes the turnbuckle and he just

looks at this turnbuckle god bless Tony shivani he was literally the only person in this arena asking what is he going to do and it was like he climbed up and he did everything from like just like the way pack would position himself and like just get into position and when will osprey hit this black arrow this guy i don't know if he celebrated this much when he won the title at wembley it was like he pulled off remember this guy has said like over the years with his neck now you can't do shooting star presses and so it's like this was not a move that was pro like yes it's will osprey if you were going to bank on people that could pull this off on live television he probably be one of them but he is like this is kind of off on his band list at this point of moves he's going to try but went all out to do this and hit the black arrow which um like you would think like man i'm going to pull off this move it's like you've got to hit this and i um he hit it in a wins in 16 minutes

and 14 seconds and this man was just elated that he hit this and is also like overcome with a motion here as well and then him and ricochet shake hands and hug but um like these guys gave you like an incredible uh match here for the 16 plus minutes they had i didn't even think about you know the whole shooting star press and then it's like being banned or at least like you know being one of the not banned but he has said like i can't do those anymore he probably should like yeah should ban it just you know he doesn't have that flexibility in his neck now um he celebrated this like like Tony Hawk hitting the 900 and i i i i love not just i love the the relude to it i love the setup for it and the setup was him uh you know like obviously like you know dragging ricochets to the corner but more importantly looking towards the corner and being incredibly nervous about what he was about to attempt number one because i don't think he was acting either yeah i wonder if

he even tried this out like if he realized i've got one of these in me um all right i don't i i would hope so but yeah i would hope so too but given his situation like like maybe maybe he ran through this because i would be nervous as hell even if i was an athlete like this guy uh like doing a move like this for the first time so i think all of that plus i think um being being able to convey how difficult this move is it is a further reminder of just how incredibly special pack was to be able to pull this move off perfectly and he never screwed it up never ever ever um and so i think all of that you know would like again hate further tribute to pack to be able to say this is an incredibly difficult move and i am going to try my hardest and concentrate my hardest not screw up on on the stage and um he be delivered perfectly i mean these two delivered a beautiful match again like it almost feels secondary to maybe talk about the quality of the match and to me more so

what what continues to be impressive is just everybody performing at these levels with so much emotion on in their minds and and they they did that yeah with the amics gold card you can earn five times points at prepaid hotels booked online through amics travel earn rewards wherever life takes you with the gold card apply today at american express dot com slash explore dash gold chirves apply hello hello hello davie portman here from poison rana we cover NXT every Tuesday night on the post-wrestling feed in a show we call up next but we do so much more follow poison rana pod on youtube wherever you get your podcasts for our live sunday show plus our patreon with movie reviews retro wrestling reviews and more find out everything at poison rana dot c a persephone dr brit baker and the returning mercedes manei who is still has the face mask on so like she certainly would not have been wrestling here um i wonder if she would have been wrestling

period before this next uh pay per view um she is back brit baker gets uh like the big pit spur response she's in the color of the stealers as well um mercedes is still in like the chicago bulls outfit like maybe she had this made in advance for uh chicago this last weekend and then she broke the nose she was like well i'm getting i'm getting my worth out of this chicago bulls gear somehow could could have been honestly like clearly maybe you know she she was implanting on on wrestling initially here and and maybe just like like the gear that was um well matched her mask first of all like that's true the mask matches the gear right so i i do find it interesting that like i would assume for the first time in history we have two um no like face mask champion world champions in um w w and w oh that's right yeah i didn't even put those together i mean like specifically that type of face mask with with uh with the injuries yeah yes well they were taken on high-end thunder rosa

and marina shifir um shifir comes out she's wearing a new castle united jersey with her son troys name on the back that they mentioned that gifted to her yes so i mean man just even like knowing that little tidbit um like man got me emotional because it was just like it's it's just further signaling to you what type of person this guy was and what sort of relationship he had with a marina shifir who i mean marina like very understandably i think was she was she didn't even know which way she was going like you can only imagine the emotions going through her mind you know in in in in preparation for for this particular match so yeah and she was about to be out here for like the next like 35 minutes or so because she'd be sticking around for the main um i thought shifir just she was like this stone cold killer in this match and she to me was like the like everything was built around the biggest

big face in the match like and and that was like you you had like that like we talked about like just before all of this like the the dynamic here where it was like baker here uh that you knew was going to be the big baby face and dude baker like you know she was just she understood like this is not about me this is not about me being in Pittsburgh and she's the one that ends up uh losing the match at the end here but they shifir gets tagged in she does her head scissors after the tiger faint kick uh to drill persephone into the apron and just eats chops from persephone and dude shifir is like the terminator here with the hip throws um she applies mother's milk onto persephone or sorry onto uh monei and it's persephone that breaks it up and that's when baker comes in uh we get all six just exchanging moves persephone spears shifir baker hits a curb stop and calls for the lock jaw on shifir but shifir with the move applied powers out to her feet hip throw brutalizer

and baker submits to shifir so I mean you could not ask of someone in their hometown be like you power out of my move you beat me you beat me here with the the submission it was like the uh like baker essentially baker's own move uh they're very similar moves very much yeah yeah but yes without the cavity or the uh the the jaw being impacted I guess yeah um you know so I I'm pretty sure like baker maybe she was supposed to go over I don't know but I can't imagine like Rosa or um high-end like beating her in this the way this match was initially playing probably not but you know when you look at perhaps the options on her side once you've decided to put marine shifir on the other end you know the other two being champions I do think like makes it a little bit difficult to pick anybody other than bread but nonetheless it was certainly of no concern that like shifir would be pitting the hometown you know favored here because as soon as like Brit even like

whatever like everybody knew what we were here for and this is not going to take away from their love of brick baker anymore the next time she might come back as a baby face um you know the marine once you put her in the match this was the only finish she had to win win this match and she had to pin do it to the person who I think could have suffered that loss um the most um the easiest I should say it also breaks baker's streak of winning in Pittsburgh in AW oh that's that's that's right as well um yeah I thought marina looked like great in this match like she was just um you know obviously you know you can you can just see on her on her face here but I mean like they just um she just looked like this this killer throughout the the this match she performed at her best interviewed you know yeah next video was from swerve talked about meeting pack at a dragon gate USA show in filly that he was a perfectionist and when he did speak up it was something important

he was going to say and would motivate you he already misses him darting we also had one of these from will osprey the bit earlier as well oh I'm sorry I missed the osprey one he talked about practicing moves with his friends and then posting them to youtube which he says you can still find and I'm sure people will go dig these up and was told by one of his friends that he reminded him of pack and started watching his matches and pack gave him hope seeing a guy from the UK make it on outside of of the UK and he said he was just chasing him he wanted to have a match with pack and amazingly like obviously because pack was in WWE for so long they never had their first match until 2019 uh in rub pro and he said that he played a bastard but he was such a wonderful person and gave happiness to so many people um so and then the other one here was Darby and he said how he was watching old clips and he brought up the fairway to hell match and I totally forgotten about

this one and how he it sounds like Darby had all the crazy ideas for the golf course and thought that pack would just like it's nay all of them and instead he said pack initially didn't want to do anything involving the golf course and only wanted to keep it in the ring but once they started planning it then pack got really into the planning around the same I thought he said he thought the pack would hate it but okay he might I might have misheard but anyway if you remember this I mean this was um it's pack like again in his trunks and he's doing like all these spots on like the on the green in the sand pit and I mean it it um I totally forgot about this this match that they ended up having at the fairway I do think it was one of the most fun matches of the entire year and you know it's going to be a really difficult look back um at the end of the year but I mean this is one of those we want a lot of wrestling this is one of those that stand up yeah and so the main event the Don Callis family come out and it is Josh Alexander, Lance Archer, Jake

Doyle, Mark Davis and the returning Wardlow who is having his first match in two and a half years on tonight's show. Biggest return of the whole match of course is Wardlow as they take on Claudio Castanoli well first the Death Riders come out and it's Claudio, Yuta, Garcia, Gabe Kid, Marina Schaffer and Moxley and everyone's just thinking it's like Moxley's just going to do double duty or what's going to happen here and they do their huddle around packs empty chair they do pushups at ringside but instead Moxley goes on commentary and they're asking I'm like what's what's going on here it's five on four and he's like yeah just uh we'll see we'll see we'll see just just pay attention here and then Brian Danielson's music plays in this place cannot believe it as Brian Danielson returns unannounced for what I will say is this first real match in

about two years because we will shave off the eight second match he had with Max Caster last year and Danielson joins the Death Riders as the fifth man. Yeah so I mean on a show with like Osprey versus Ricochet you you would assume that that would simply be the main event and for that not to be I guess you would have assumed they had something much bigger planned and I thought that bigger thing would have just been like John Moxley doing double duty so all of this like was I think well number one I you know a really well guarded surprise and then a really really fantastic surprise to close this show by giving you Brian Janssen's return from retirement for for this particular moment. Yeah very meaningful. And Danielson like got right in there he hits a guillotine knee drop off the top on to Josh Alexander and I would imagine Josh Alexander was having the just like a fever dream here getting to work with Brian Danielson for the sequence that

they got here. On the same week he's about to wrestle edge Copeland. No that's Steve McLean that's facing Copeland. I apologize. Yes he is facing Stu Grayson though. Oh well I'd take it back yes we get a giant swing on Alexander and then the Wardlow chance begin. Now Wardlow got like a little bit in here but he was obviously the focus was more so on Danielson here but he's beating on Yuta and Yuta hits like the Danielson like missile drop kick off the top to Davis the crowd is chanting yes as Yuta tags Danielson and this is when Danielson comes in he gets caught in an ankle lock by Alexander transitions to the Lebel lock which is then broken by Jake Doyle as he hits a dragon screw this is Garcia hitting the dragon screw and Moxie yells dragon screw that big bitch and the announcers are just losing it some some well needed laughter

that they are getting here courtesy of John Moxley as Wardlow then power bombs Garcia and Moxie starts going off about Wardlow's pecs Wardlow and Claudio come in briefly Danielson nails Josh with a head kick and then it's Wardlow and Davis turning around into stereo Bussikunis by Danielson and Yuta working together archer grabs onto Marina on the apron and gets caught in the Suzuki Armbar and then they dump archer over and Claudio hits this big tornillo over the top and Garcia eyes Doyle out of the corner and does his dance for a big pop they isolate Doyle and it's five on one with the death riders attacking him in the corner shefear joins in and then it's Gabe kid with the running bastard laria to Jake Doyle a dragon tamer by Garcia curb stomp from Claudio and Garcia getting the pinfall in 15 minutes and 23 seconds and the post match here Danielson joins in on the

huddle dance ex caliber is telling everybody to hug your loved ones and it's just like this release for all of these guys in the ring as it's like the show portion is over now and it was just like you couldn't have asked for like a better kind of emotional ending to the wrestling portion I will say yeah you you know you you offer your best you know in moments like this and Tony offered his his best I mean with a I'm sure a very willing participant tonight in Brian danielson coming back out for for I think the most unfortunate but also like the most significant of reasons and they delivered a like a really incredible outing that felt very special and and more importantly I think gave a chance for everybody to smile you know to be able to watch this gave a chance for the performers to smile in in in in in in this time just an incredible close

and a big surprise to to end the show or at least in this portion of the show yeah because it ends with this music video for pack and I mean this this was the part that if you were holding it together I mean this one was going to challenge anyone because man it's just all this footage I mean they they had dragongate USA footage in in in this they had regular dragongate ring of honor rub pro um we we get the bit of like the box talking to hangman page about full gear uh at the like the box in the books and Cody and Cody yeah Cody even appears in the in this in this video and uh we of course are on the death triangle like prominently featuring pentane fenix so like there there was no sort of like care for there were no promotional lines exactly um if you were looking closely like they had a photo of him and and Sammy on the wall earlier as well oh well yeah we should also mention uh thank you for somebody noting in the chat here uh osprey in talking about

that prior story about um the the guy who reminded him of pat he mentioned Stephen Farley which is of course the real name of shameless okay okay um we yeah the death triangle was uh mentioned here wrestling at wembley the a highlight with brody lee and they included packs message for the butcher um till we meet again and it was just like holy christ uh this was the the closed with this and like god you you know like i to me like pack in that butcher tributzo which was only a few days ago um i thought that that might have been like the most sort of like touching one of these obituaries and and i did not expect that to come back up you know here uh used in this way um over top of well with his with photos of his wife he he and his wife over top it was god who was uh it was uh

is a beautifully put together video um i i mean a ton of praise for the person who the people who were able to put this together a lot of heart a lot of hard work a lot of emotion i'm sure went into the creation of this and it just ends with this image of the spotlight on the empty chair and the death riders and danielson surrounding the the chair and that that's how the show ended just this uh yeah i mean uh absolutely gut wrenching two and a half hours of uh television to watch um but one that was also i mean you it was just it was it was it was a really just a really beautiful tribute and i don't know how much more you can say about this like it was there was so much care and thought that went into this show and for a night it like none of this was about directing people to the next show or anything like this this

this was there was nothing about this show that was tied to promotional considerations or anything it was all self-contained to this night of just mourning someone in their family that had died there is no next night right like this is this person's last you know moment that that i think like we this this promotion will get to maybe like focus on him this way so this is the end you know and and and this was there's nothing more important than than this and um i thought this the show was like really really tastefully put together it was emotionally put together and and they really every single person involved here seemed to like put their very best effort including the matchmaker who gave i think some of the the best things he could offer you know for for this particular show um yeah just i i'm you know maybe certainly one of the most affecting and and maybe you know

the most affecting tribute show i personally witnessed hey al the movie line here and you might not know who i am but you'll recognize all sorts of names on my show real talk without the movie line i'm chatted with wh park jordan goodman nate nilton niel flanagan and scored beyond the mat with brand and thirst and the leggo movie with wayting and home alone with john polych if you love movies and post wrestling subscribe to al the movie line on youtube now so um yeah that is the conclusion of the show like i was just i was certainly spent by the the end of the show for for for sure and um we're gonna go to some feedback uh because we want to keep it uh pack specific and then we are going to be transferring over to the excel portion where we're gonna back end the show with the other news but there are some pieces of feedback here from people that uh had left their their thoughts on the show so we're gonna uh pay attention to those starting off with brine from new jersey

this was a wonderful show but i hope it's a long time before a w has to put on another show like this again all the credit to everyone who worked on the show and all the wrestlers working at such a high level while actively grieving i feel this dedication was exemplified by will ospreys black arrow brine danielson wrestling on this card meant the world as well a tremendous tribute show i want to see marina shifir go for a title after this yeah well certainly the death writers i mean they've always kind of operated in this like gray area sometimes baby face sometimes he'll lately a lot more healish i do wonder if like this may be somewhat of more of a permanent switch towards being a baby face certainly like for john moxley maybe you would have sensed that coming anyway following the osprey loss um whether or not the other death writers follow suit i mean you know maybe maybe plants plants old changers have resulted all this um and could marina be like somebody for you know to contend for for the women's championship um i i mean i think the division could use her yeah no doubt as in a single capacity uh let's go to kody for main who says beautiful

heartbreaking cathartic it is beyond cruel for a company to be so good at something only to have that something be memorializing one of their own yeah well i mean the the company's very good at a lot of things you know so if one of those things happens to be this then i mean um maybe we should be grateful that you know um they they know how to handle these really tough situations jay from calorado i'll be honest i cried throughout throughout tonight's episode pack was one of the reasons i got back into wrestling a decade or so ago his love for the craft is unmatched and his absence will be glaring everyone brought out their best tonight and they did a wonderful job doing honors to pack's memory if there's one thing a w does exceptionally well it's tribute shows i just hope i don't see another one for a very long time resting peace the deter who says just left the show she was there in pizzeria it was beautiful emotional uplifting but heartbreaking uh as a tribute as somebody who has watched packs since his nxt days i've never gotten to know the man behind the character you could truly feel how loved he was one of the best

to ever do it pack will truly be missed resting peace well thank you to tera for um who attended the show dragon gate is also announced that they're going to be doing a a ten count uh gong before the start of their show on friday at a kora q and hall for uh for pack as well so i i would imagine um a number of uh places will be honoring him as well but certainly dragon gate would be um right right at the top of everyone's list of you know a company that was so defined by his role there for both like the five years before wwe and then going back there after wwe where he made that his landing spot after wwe in that year of inactivity i could also imagine like a number of like references and attribute on friday you know yes the world champion is one of his closest friends in in samis ain and a lot of people with with a lot of connection uh to pack will be you know getting their chance to to show the world on friday maybe with this guy you know it was

able to be into him so anyway yeah so i think we're gonna close off this portion of the show again we are going to be getting to uh the news momentarily um but that's gonna wrap up the uh the dynamite portion of the show so i want to thank everyone who uh did tune in for the review and uh leaving your feedback as well um way we'll be back on friday for rewind a smackdown and i think you're right i think you could certainly expect uh some privates on that show uh as well from some of the performers as well so we will say goodbye to everybody on youtube
