And I'm back here with all of you here in the live room in Seattle, Washington. About to introduce one of the most important pieces in the instrumental rock scene coming from Latin America, but also one of my favorite bands globally. They have a new album called Ma. And Austin TV is joining me today. ¿Qué tal amigos? ¿Cómo están? ¿Cómo hayos? ¿Gued? OK, I think that we are all ready. Austin TV Live on KeXB.
¿Qué tal? ¿Qué tal? ¿Qué tal? ¿Qué tal?
I Can you breathe here is for me Dubbed Do I love here? Not yet
How was I in the past? Who was I? What do you see in the future? What do you see in the future? What am I? I don't know. Everything really has to be filled to feel completely open.
I don't know. I don't know.
I don't know. I don't know.
I don't know. I don't know.
I don't know. I don't know. I'm going to be a child. I love you and I love you. I love you too. I don't know what I love you.
I love you too. I love you too.
I love you too. I love you too.
I love you too. We are brothers. Like a gesture. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Like a gesture. I'm sorry. I'm not scared. But what I'm talking about is that you have the same thoughts. What you're talking about is that you have the same thoughts. You have the same thoughts. You have the same thoughts. And now you're the lightest in the night.
I love you too. I love you too.
I love you too. I love you too.
I love you too.
I love you too. Thank you very much. of a music and a more significant album, both in Mexico and Latin America, as a way of saying, but it also has connotations that go even to Japan, and I would like to start with that, what does it mean more and what does this emotional process mean? Not a single album. Of course. The first thing I noticed was a short story, a way of saying it, when we were composing,
it happened that two of us lost our mothers. And we didn't know what the album was about, but we kept composing in that process, in that duel. And after that, when we were seeing the concept, we reached the conclusion that there was a void, that we felt a void and that there was a void. And then we found this concept of the void that we know in the East Sea, that talks about a more than a void, an interlude, like a gap, with a claus that has a purpose, not only that there is a space, but there is a purpose to reach something. And then that made us a lot of sense, because the partner was super pretty, and he also had to see the duel. So, they were together, like this void that had something, that had an essence,
but more well, a principle for many things. And at the same time, well, this duel that we had with our mothers. That space in between, I didn't mean it. For me, Austin saw a explosion of colors, the manoeuvre after that, all night waiting for the sun to come out. And I was also reminded of that space in meditation when you arrive to the total inspiration, to the total exhalation, and to find the meaning of more, behind that, from what in the East conscious, it really has been a very fine question. A musical process that I would like to know if it comes from the Yameo or if it comes from having heard certain references, how was the composition of the other in its entirety? Well, just we have this period between the disc we were hearing and we were hearing the risoma and it was super cool,
but it came a point where we were together and we literally said, well, let's do a new music. We, well, Chio is in another literal continent, and we are in Mexico, and he is in Brighton. And then we were together, the four in the city of Mexico, in a room in the department of Chris Nayer, where we used a little sample of everything and everything, as a very welcoming person. We said, we were going to join the composer and it's a bit like the Yameo, as you say, as we are hearing in our sounds. But something something different this time was that before joining us without saying, we were together to take a coffee. So we went to a coffee shop, we sat down, we talked, we already know how it is, or the space there, and after that, just arrived at the rehearsal, as a little bit more relaxed, putting our pedals on, and that process, I think, was very nice because we could
talk more about the person between us, and also see your friends soon, lose to their mothers, and that they decided to continue the process of compose. Well, it's very, it's different, not also the other part of joining your friends in the strong processes, and I think, for example, Chio who was from the other side, was very present, sending us sounds, sending us music melodies, we were planning a lot of coming here. So everyone went to a very intimate room, and very special, because, even though it was a very strong moment, also a lot of respect to continue creating, and to continue doing music, and it was like this, not a little bit, this happened in the way, it wasn't like that, we could do the music, but it happened. So, I think it was a way to accompany this album, not like to accompany, and understand that
this is a little bit, the music is always a sound and that accompanies. Absolutely. I think that when our audience and all the audience can be watching this, more will it be possible to get this sound in a global turn that has been in the last weeks, but it also has no collaboration. If it has collaboration, it's that it's a bit touching the angle of different scenes, quite interesting, I just wanted to talk a little about that collaboration, invited musical conversations, I don't know how you plan it, and also a little bit of this global international tour, that is happening. Well, yes, it was very cool to be able to talk with these friends' collaborations, friends' friends that we could go to meet, looking for bands in Mexico City
that there are many, there are many amazing bands, emerging, please look for them, and some of these are, well, dedicated and sensational sources, and a light-per-round, which are well, three of those integrants participated in this album, with their voices, not that they are singing, but they have that feeling of how they interpret their art, then they just plasma it to read some of the things we wrote for this album, and I think it's something very beautiful. Yes, I think that the award-winning gave me something very interesting to me, as we were saying, they just turned around for Europe, also for the United States at these times, and they will see possibilities with the rest of Latin America and I bring their America, where I am because there artists like the end of the world, for example,
are super fanatics that South America are waiting for you for a long time, and I hope that soon they will be in those places for those images, do you not? We will see. I'm pressing them No, no, no, I'm not I'm pressing them Yes, I'm pressing for the doubts No, we're we've never been for example in Brazil and we're seeing the possibility and we've realized that there's a huge of music and that's like another planet in the sense of cultural and we've made a lot of sense and art and in this tour of the way we've tried to go places that we can and in that I'm referring to in Mexico, for example, being our own promoters in a way our flight and contacting with cities where they don't usually or they don't play, right? that many times they're central and we're seeing small cities here in Europe, in
Mexico and we want to do it in South America to be able to also occupy those spaces with music messages Totally. And the truth is when Austin TV Rumpet in Sena changes our heads to all of us including that generation of an early 2000s where we started to find the instrumental and the rock music and the instrumental to call it Matt Rock, to call it in many ways but I think that inspired a lot of generation of artists and wanted to ask you how to perceive the current independent scene of what you're and the great references at a time where the industry seems a lot to the artists and I think they're overwhelming of them. Yes. There are too many bands
that are incredible there are too many music and I think the important thing is we're looking at too many bands that take a few years and in reality what he talks about is the heart and the music that they keep doing with that same love which is what happens to us although we've been doing so many years for 20 years maybe 20 years we're still our life. I think that's very important and yes, people can now listen to more bands and support more so I think we're starting to support your local bands and the ones that are there and obviously they come from other countries and there's too many
loads but there's always a lot of options so you don't forget to support your local bands and thank you all the bands that have taken from us in this tour with several that come and say that's very beautiful or being a referendum for bands not only in our country but in all sides I think that's right that I realized that it wasn't just in those early 2000s these bands are independent they're having the opportunity not only to play in Mexico or not only in Argentina with the end of the world but not to come out and these bands are playing in Europe for example they say they don't like me they're going to go there this year Valgur and just the end of the world and I think that's super super cool that's not so in other countries they don't only know the mainstream bands of the country
I'm not going to say names but that they can know the independent bands that are the ones that make the base and that make it grow just the music Totally one of the key bands is the pioneers of that time between the independent band Austin TV is what you're seeing in a new album more that I enjoyed a lot and that it marks this new era but without any doubt it keeps the essence of your own important importance so I'd like to thank you a lot for having gone to come to this point is the world of the country of the United States in the North of Mexico and we'll see you very soon because you already know that I believe in you for important things Thank you very much Thank you very much Thank you very much and again congratulations for this new album Austin TV live on KEXP and thank you for listening and watching these sessions and all these live performances
