All right, let's keep it moving along and this Thursday night of the round table show, nine o'clock, our final destination. We've got a giveaway at nine o'clock. Gonna be here to win. We've navigated our way through some Bengals conversations. You see football conversation around the corner of the day in class, and it's with fantasy football. But for the moment, let's put the spotlight on high school football.
There's one guy we turn to. High school football tonight show, tri-statefootball.com. He has for the record been hobnob at around, seeing like big musical acts and hitting the town, but he's come back. He's back and we're back with Greg Schumacher. Now are you? I am wonderful. I have missed you guys over the last couple of weeks and yeah, hobnob for nights at Bourbon and Beyond. Nice. The following week I went up this field of dreams in Iowa. There was all high-state football. Nice. That's a day at Iowa. And then, Lance, I did in Rocky, being an in the Annapolis guy, made my first trip to St. Elmo's and had the shrimp cocktail. Oh, goodness. Clear your nostrils and dry bodies. Yeah, get it ready. Oh, yes. It was worth it. I'm in the slippery noodle to end everything off on Sunday. Oh, man, you checked a lot of boxes. Excellent. Excellent. Very nice. It was a bucket list weekend, for sure.
Excellent. Excellent. All right, let's get to some high school football. Let's start with elder at Highlands. Highlands rolling in elder's defense, struggling. Boy, you got that right, Lance. Elder started off the year 5 and 0, but they lost their last two games to St. Elmo's next and molar defense in that time, has given up 897 yards. But here's the disturbing fact about that. Elder's defense has given up 16 to 24 third down conversions and 3 to 4 fourth down conversions. So they're not getting off the field. They gave up 66 points in those two games, and they would give up 30 points in their first five victory. So yeah, they're in trouble. And Highlands, like you said, they're red hot. They won six in a row after using their opener. They're averaging 47.5 points per game in those six wins. And it's just, I mean, those two teams, they're going in different directions. But I do say this. Both teams have wins over CupCap. Elder won a little bit more over CupCap than Highlands did.
But Elder did play CupCap at home in Highlands play them on the road. So that's one factor there. I think it's going to be a very close game, very high scoring game. And the quarterbacks are going to steal the show in this one. They're mirror images of each other. Elder seeing your quarterback, KMU, East F. Hewee's, the GCL South, and passing yards. And it's second and passing Russian yards. And it is a counter for 22 touchdowns on the year, 18 through the year, four on the ground. During this two game losing streak for Elder, he is also not miss the P.E. He's going 42 and 54 for 650 yards. True. He can't, you know, six touchdowns to the year, one Russian. So it's not his fault on that end. But sophomore quarterback in Highlands, Bryce Armstrong, is a real deal. He's starting to get some offers. He's also a dual threat quarterback. Leads the team on Russian yards. There'll be 900 as well over 500 rushing. And like East F.E. is also combined for 21 touchdowns
passing in Russian. So very interesting game here. One thing I really think is interesting about Highlands is Armstrong doesn't have like, he's got 900 yards passing, but he is hit 19 different receivers through seven games. And the guy who has the most catches on that team has 16. Nobody else has more than nine. So they run out. Wow. They have a shuttle butt running out at the end and slot. And on the end. So it'll be interesting to see if the Elder defense can keep up with the speed and the versatility of the Highlands offense. All right, great. We've got a Southwest Ohio conference title and playoff invocations at stake when Talawanda takes on Harrison. Harrison Wildcat's 61. How you seeing this? Yeah. So this is the last in Southwest Ohio conference or titles to be won. And these two teams are sitting at 61 each. They're both in division two region eight.
So not only the battling for the league title, they're also looking to getting first round by in the playoffs and taking a second round game. Right now in the computer race, it's through seven weeks. Harrison is sitting at number three in the rankings and Talawanda at six. So the winner here is really going to set themselves up nicely to get a first round by in the playoffs. But here's the interesting thing about this, the series. They've been playing for 20 straight years. Harrison holds an 18 to two advantage in this series over the last 20 years. So I want to go with Harrison, especially at home in this one. And I also like this about Harrison. They get up. They got a pair of defensive bats that over the last two games have combined for 23 interceptions. Ben Markter. Karen. You want to go to a new overlay? You've got a 11 over the last two years. And Jack DeNier has got 12 over the last 20 games. So the 23 over the last 20 games for the Wildtats,
which is something, guys, this is something I've never seen. I've never seen two guys in a backfield in a high school. Are you guys a backfield in high school? What double digit intercepts? Yeah. Same team. Man. I mean, because usually you go away from one guy. Great. And the other guy that guy capitalizes all the interceptions. But you can't do that in this Harrison. Which I think is really cool. All right. Alter at McNic, sole possession of first place in the conference up for grabs. Yeah, really cool. Story here, both teams sitting at 5 and 2 in the GCL co-ed both at 2 and 0 in the league. McNic hasn't won a league title since 2017. They ripped off four straight wins after starting 1 and 2. They've been fantastic. Their quarterback Kevin Sanfas is 41 for 57 for 618 yards and 9 touchdowns, zero interceptions during their four game winning streak after starting 1 and 2. Through five interceptions and just two interceptions in their first three weeks of the season. So they're rolling right along.
And then defensive end for Hamilton Max. Hamilton, he has 8 and a half sacks. You have working and a half tackles for losses. Just in the last three games along. He's been a wrecking crew for the Rocket's defense. And I, but that's it. I don't think he's going to have that kind of night. Because Alter is going to run the football with Drew Crips. He's a Miami Ohio captain. He's fantastic running back at Ian. He fits the back. He's going to be one of those kids we talk about about three years at Miami Ohio. Group Crips don't get him. And here's the other thing cool about this. These teams are both jockeying for position in division three, region 12. Computer, we're next sitting at number nine in the ratings, Alter's at number 10. So neither one of them's in a position yet to get a first round by in the playoffs. And both of them still have number, maybe who's going to be 20, one in the playoffs, 25 rankings. Both left on the schedule and they was one of the last HECL co-ed titles. So there's lots to be still played for in the GCL co-eds.
And it's going to be a heck of a night over at a fan station stadium on the inside of town. All right, Greg. Lastly, we've got a couple of beaten teams going at it. The huge big red at CCPA. What do you see in this? How about the, this is a cool story, everybody. So these two teams weren't scheduled to play when the season started. Woodward was supposed to play against Hughes this week and CCPA was supposed to play Schroeder. Both those teams are combined 2011 in the year. But both of them had open dates and so did big red or Hughes and CCPA. They switched the games around so we could have a matchup of seven to eight, seven to no teams. Pretty cool. It just happened to work. We have Jeff Cardiall talking about it on the three game portion of high school football tonight. But what's really cool about this is this is history making all over the Cincinnati Public League. CCPA is seven and over the first time in school history. 17 season for the program. The Lions have never won more than eight games in a year.
Hughes is seven and a no for the first time in a hundred and two years. When they are looking to go, they are looking to go for eight wins for the first time since 1998 and only in their second time in their career. And here's the other cool thing about Hughes. And I'm really rooting for him. Jalen Engelman, their head coach is just 25 years old. He had a former win once he'd stand out. Wow. What if he had to get the job? The players were his uncle retired last year. He was an assistant there and the players wanted him and he's having a blast. At 25 years old, seven and a C-max school, it's just you couldn't write a better Disney story than that. What a cool story. Absolutely. All right. Then look ahead in tomorrow night. Set up the high school football tonight show and all that's going on. Yeah. So that's CCPA Hughes game. It's on Saturday, but we'll have Jeff Cargow, the head coach of CCPA talking about it, talking about his team. That's a great one in the pre-game portion.
Also had David Dramasman, the head coach of Taylor. He's one in six right now, but they're playing seven and no deer park. And he's talking, he talks about adversity. He played five different quarterbacks. They're down on their third string quarterback after seven weeks. Oh my God. So he had five different guys take snaps last week and he talked about how you handle adversity and it was really great interview with him. And then Nick Osborne from Western Brown, he talks there. He's still in a battle for playing the SBA, C title. They got the Richmond, they're one and one in the league. And it's still a link that's pretty much open for a division title even though they're a significant two of five. They're a young team too. Again, another adversity situation. Great, great coaches with that. And then after seeing next with Sal Gain, he was sub one in Al V, and I'd be back on until 11 o'clock to coach him. He's a scoreboard updates all night. On our work. Forch, Fox Sports 1360, and he has 153. Excellent, excellent. Well, I got about a minute.
What was, what was field of dreams like? Van Test, again, we happened to catch you with a day with a bunch of Ohio State fans. And they had, so like one of the guys in the farm was like, hey, catch this out, Iowa fans. He's going, oh, hey, everybody went I-O, and everybody in Iowa went, W-A-A. So there were no A-O, yeah. It was awesome. It was a great trip. It felt a dream, if you, it's out in the middle of nowhere. It is. It's a great time of having plays out there. I leave recommend the trip. It's cool place. Excellent. Good deal. Glad you enjoyed it. Good catching up. And we'll talk next week. Sounds good, guys. Have a great weekend. You as well. Great shot. Great showmaker, high school football, tonight show. Take a time out. Come back, flip the script to Fantasy Football with Dan Klaskins. We're at long-next-and-wilder-the-round table show presented by Cincinnati Tax Resolution and Power by Tobe Sheldon, 700 WLW.
