Uh, Dad is pissed at Owen. Dad is really mad at Owen. Oh, come on. What'd they do? Well, you know, you guys have been making jokes at me for 15 years, because today is fan 15, we're going to be over at David Busters and West Lake tonight, and you guys have been making jokes at me for 15 years about Dale Earnhardt and the day when he died and my reaction and the whole thing. I really don't go there. That's not something I go after you about.

2:02You have in the past. Not a Dale. I stay away from that. Do you agree with him, Owen? Yeah, probably. For the most part, I used to lunch in another day. Had I known you 25 years ago, I would have started making them 25 years ago. But you know, here I make Dad really mad. But I couldn't believe it. It took 15 years for Dad to actually hear one of them, because you guys always do it to me. And everybody bull did it to me. Dustin did it to me. Kevin did it to me. He's done it to everybody. Nick, John, not really John, Nick's done it. Everybody's done it. Because they know that my family, like some people adore the Kennedy, some people adore the royal family, the Carmans, and several million people across the country, adore the Earnhardt's. And they mean a great deal. To the point where I can't even, I can't take the opportunity to ever meet Dale Earnhardt Jr.

3:02And I would probably be honestly like Chris Farley on Saturday night live when he met, um, who the hell's the guy from the Beatles, Wings? Paul McCartney. Paul McCartney, yeah, there you go. Like I think I would be like Chris Farley. What? What are you laughing at? Yeah, I know everything about Dale Earnhardt, but I don't know about Paul McCartney. You know, what are you gonna do? What are you gonna do? It's where it goes. It's how it was raised, brother. Okay. Yeah, Dad's mad at you. He just texted me. He goes, it's not good to piss me off in the morning. He wrote a whole long thing. Dad's mad. You wanna say something to the dear old dad? Man. It's one thing to upset me. It's a whole nother thing to upset Ken Sr. Maybe I'll send an extra treat his way when you go up there and help him out later. Yeah. Well, no, I'm not going till Friday tomorrow. I gotta go tomorrow. Yeah. Well, I have one and boy, he's gonna let me have it. Cause of you. I'm about to FaceTime you and have him just yelling you instead of me.

4:04That's the way this is gonna go. Mary Kay Cabot joins us to 8.22. So, Lam and I, I obviously care about how Brown's fans feel. And sometimes I don't get it all right. Like sometimes I take the wrong temperature. The booing, I did not think that you were gonna boost so vociferously in the bills game on, especially after the rain. And one, I didn't even think you'd play too when he came out like, no, there's got to be nobody left there. They're not gonna boo. No, you booed. You booed his ass off. And then he continued to boo. And then, had he not said what he had said and put a towel over his head and kind of hid from everybody who knows what they would have said to him on the sidelines. But he didn't sign some autographs. And when Todd Munkett made him the starter like, Lam and I go, listen, I care about how Brown's fans feel. I feel the same way you do. I never wanted to see him play for the Browns again. But if I were the head coach of the Browns and I were privy to the information that Todd Munkett has, that yeah, I would probably have to make the decision to start Dishon Watson.

5:04And none of that had to do with ownership or a directive or any of that stuff. Lam and I are lockstep on that. However, there is somebody out there that you won't believe has come to Brown's fans defense in some way. It is Mike Florio NBC hit it. You got to make the best decision for the Browns. And I'm not saying that football decisions should also be made with the broader business interests of the franchise in behind you. But sometimes they are. And if there was ever a case to make a football decision that it's close and let's see. The fans love one guy and the fans hate the other guy. Why wouldn't that be a factor? Why wouldn't you consider that when you're determining what's best for the Browns? Because it's not just X's and O's. It's not just can we win this week. It's not interchangeable parts. You know, there's no NFL coach, not even Bella check who would play different quarterbacks based on which one gives us the best chance of winning the next game. There's a broader picture in mind.

6:04And I think it would have been appropriate for him to consider they're going to hate one decision and going to love the other decision. They're going to hate me if I make one decision. They're going to love me if I make the other decision. All things equal. That should be a fact. Audio courtesy NBC and pro football talk. The thing with what Floreo says is I think Todd did. Remember we got a text one was he hired January 28th. I think he did. When we get a text saying like, hey, he likes Watson. And I would say that Watson's going to be the starter. When we get that the day he was hired actually the yes, the morning he was hired. And then you make it a competition. I think he was. Because he could have just went in there and said, the Sean Watson's a starter. We're moving forward. It's my football team. I'm making the decision to Sean Watson's a starter. And I do think that there was something there to like, hey, we got to have a competition here. Because I think there was a football decision in there. And I also think that yeah, you probably take.

7:05The way things are into a count going, hey, if you want to make him the quote, like this still goes along with what we've been talking about or we do believe you and I believe everybody's getting it wrong about Jimmy made the call. Jimmy's forcing him into do it. He's making too much money. I said, guys, you will bring $40 million in here and set it on fire on live YouTube for you guys right now. If it meant winning one more football game. And lime agrees. Do you or do you not? Yeah. Okay. And I think that there was something where let's see if this guy can take the job from the Sean Watson. Let's see if he can do it. He gave him that chance. I think he was considering the fans. I think he was considering how things have been over these last couple of years when he decides to have that competition. No, we talked about the honeymoon evaporated very quickly when it comes to the head coach. And it feels like a lot of people are very annoyed by this. But can you also simultaneously have a little bit more respect for him not buckling to the whims of the fans when the fans aren't there every day?

8:07The fans can only I include us. We can all think that we're experts because we see some video out of camp and see some highlights. But that's not that's not quarterback play. That's not understanding, you know, who your team is in and out and you know getting them ready and all the stuff that we've heard about the edge that the Sean Watson has over Shadour at this stage. Maybe that edge gets nullified in a few weeks, you know, in a month, who knows. But right now that coach thinks there is that edge because if it was the inverse. If he would have, you know, declared Shadour the starter and then he would never do this, but then it met. Yeah, he's behind, but younger, he's the future. He's not as good as Dishon. That would have irked people in the locker room if that were the case. If all of what I just said was the case in this example. But fans would have loved the decision, but would have also been like, all right, he's not really doing the best to allow them to try to win or put a winning product on the field right now.

9:09Understood, but I have to, I have to take Todd side of it because I have to look at the realism of it. He's been the story came out like Harb always tell him, you don't want to go there. Don't go there. Come over here, be the offense coordinator like that story was out there. You think you were saying good things about the quarterback room. John Harball was so we know what the rest of the NFL thinks of this quarterback room guys, so we knew he was going into so he still opened up that competition. So there's still something there where he had to have known that people were going to be upset. He is not closed off to what the fans say the guys on Twitter for crying out loud like he's not closed off to what the what a lot of the fans think he knew was going to be an unpopular decision. And he may in this way and this is why I can't just go away from what fantasy says as much as I don't want to talk about the possibilities of one and done and I don't and I'm annoyed by it. And I think it's out. I thought that when he was first hired and people wanted to bring it up, I found it to be ghoulish. He knows in the back of his mind these jobs they come and go.

10:10And there's things that lead up to it where you may only get one crack at this in one year to do this. And he's got to make the decision that he thinks is best and he can't give a damn in the end. He can consider it then, but he can't consider it will make in the decision that it's going to make the guys on the radio or guys in the stands or anybody else upset because it did. Well, the bed is made and now we got to see whether or not that they're going to actually go out there and play well and I don't think they will with him. Hopefully I'm wrong because what we've seen that's a broken quarterback and we sound like broken records always having to say it because you'll see it. Now this you're not going to like this, but I keep hearing that everybody's like, well, we know D'Shan's not going to play well. I kind of figure I kind of feel like should or we would have known that too. I do not think he would have played well either. And just especially because Munkin doesn't think he's ahead on all these little things that matter. So even if he's a better thrower, the football right now and can let it let it loose a little bit down the field. Like I would not have expected him to be in great shapes. Also Jacksonville is tape on him now.

11:14Last year's teams didn't have the benefit of having tape on him. Record that. I think I can push back at 845 Mary K Cabin at 822 on the fan. The show is back Nick Wilson, Jonathan Peterland. It is luxurious. It is very nice. You're usually described it basically any places luxurious. And for some reason the David Busters feels oddly luxurious. We are so lucky that I actually made it back from the gaming area because I was sensory overload in the best possible way. It was like the piece of candy. Yeah. It was just like, oh, pop a shot. I worried for you anytime. There's basically anything with that.

12:14Was that thing lights and was you like to do anything I could throw you off in this basically anything that exists in your orbit. I get worried about you. Especially when it's something that I know I could have potentially have a problem with and I can walk in with ease offense not taking this one. I get this one. That one's fair. I know I think it's rather arbitrary that in life we're like a 10 year anniversary or 15 year anniversary is bigger than like a 13 year anniversary. Right. That's how people treat. Yeah. And so but but that being said 15 years of of any radio station in 2026 is a significant accomplishment. Let alone one that is continue to grow by leaps and bounds and like what what Keith and everybody does with the videos. And it's just really cool. It's really it's one of those things. I'm sure we'll get into it a bunch of times today. Yeah. But as I was thinking about 15 years of the fan. I just kept thinking about all the silly stupid sometimes serious things that we've done the last 15 years. And it's not just us. It's it's every person who's hosted on the station and certainly the people who keep us on air.

14:27And usually on task folks like Jake and everybody that have manned those kind of roles in history here. Yeah. There's so many people that have been involved with it. Right. And it's so many people that have played their own part to making sure that the station goes. None more than me. And I'd like to point that out. Oh, okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I played a part in this. And I want that on the record. Uh huh. Yeah. But you've also all of you have also played a slightly less significant part on the record. As about as close as Sappy as I can try to get there. It wasn't even. It wasn't even Sappy. We tried to just kind of what it was. We tried. But again, we have five hours to romance the past as it were. Yeah. We can just talk about you and me exclusively. That's true. That's all in the shows that we've done or I've done. Actually, anytime we try and relate it to somebody else's happening. It just goes back. It just goes all the way back to us. I mean, it is the show that we're on. Yeah. So like we might as well. I got I got no perspective of anybody else's time here. Like my own. I very rarely ever really got the chance to work with the first morning show before Canon Anthony Kylie and Booms. And what I will remember is I remember one time being like excitedly, being like I was a part of both of their last days on the station.

15:34And somebody's like, you said that a little too excitedly. You know, maybe you could have brought it down a little bit. You know, you're going to use your own. I mean, the end of shows, especially when they go out that way. I meant more than that. That's part of my tie to 92 through the fans history. I meant in like a positive way. And it might have come out as like a. You know, that was about them. And at that part, you might have thought to yourself. That might be the biggest thing that you get to do with the state. Let's know who's and look at you now. You see. I have failed up and I'm happy about that. I mean, well, it's funny just because I mean, in many ways, it's obviously 15 years, but it also is a full circle moment for me and you to come. And the moment for me and you to constantly remind ourselves, this is the show that we dreamed up 10 years ago when we first met each other. Yeah, that's that's actually part of I think our wives role in our marriages is reminding us of that when we really piss each other off. Yeah, okay. This is what you asked for. You asked for this one. You guys asked a lot to do this show. And they said no for a lot of years, by the way. They continued to say no for a lot of years. They probably should have still said no.

16:37Yeah, but then they said yes, they should have been the brakes the whole time. They were. And now the brakes are off the car. We're rolling down the hill here. But very excited to have various reminiscing of this. And of course, the other guys from 92 through the fan will be here later. But I want to crap, I mean, just absolute like, I want to piss you off the most. Honestly, it's a cat Hickman stuff. I knew the cat Hickman thing would bother you. The funny thing is, it's not that if you have a problem with her being glib yesterday, I don't really have a rebuttal of that. I mean, that's the organizational style, especially from the front office. But I get it. Like you want answers for a team that you feel disappointed by already. I get that you want to go ahead and be mad about the dishawn stuff. I get it. I'm mad about the dishawn stuff too, but a sweatshirt. We're doing this over a sweatshirt. I don't I didn't understand everyone losing their mind over it. I didn't. I still think my read on it is accurate. If you don't have the tide to the rams, I can't help you there. I just tend to think it was an inside joke. And something that you didn't think would take the legs that it's taken. And then here we are. And 24 hours later, people can't stop talking about. So it's funny. Like I do think so you and I approached him more from a. Oh, I guess I'm going to be a little bit more of a guy. I'm going to be a little bit more of a guy. I'm going to be a little bit more of a guy. I'm going to be a little bit more of a guy. I'm going to be a little bit more of a guy. I'm going to be a little bit more of a guy. I

17:54guess people are sort of mad about this. And then it turned into a wildfire overnight. And certainly you heard it kind of take even further light in both the shows previous us today. But like I don't know if I just I continue to look back on and say if you don't like Cat Hickman, I get it. But I think it's when people take it to the lowest common form and turn it into she's not deserving of her job that I think people really get ugly and heinous. And it's like again, I just think you if if all you are doing as a browns fan is sending hate in a million directions, that's just hate. Right. If you're anger, anger is justifiable at this organization. It should be targeted anger. It should be I'm really angry at Todd Munkin for having to go to play Dishon again. Or if you blame the Haslums or Andrew Barry, I'm really angry that there an eight win team. And we thought that'd be competing for Superbolts. Those things make sense. A sweatshirt from forever 21. I for the assistant GM. Yeah, I can't find the anger. I just I can't I do understand the idea that it was there. There's a lot of layers to it. There's a lot of things that seem different. And sometimes people watch on to to different. Typically, if the assistant GM shows up,

19:05Did you just be wearing browns gear? That's all she would be doing. It felt like there was some statement she was trying to make. Well, also in the same respect, I just think it was an inside joke. I think there's some sort of whether that is Andrew Barry, whether it is someone with the browns could be Sean McVey or someone That's need with the Rams. It's like part of this is you have to wear this now. Like I don't know. There's a fantasy football league punishment. There clearly was something attached to this that we will never be aware of or we won't be aware of for like four or five years. I think she just really like shopping at forever 21. I don't I don't fear to bash somebody's style. I don't think that's it. When all they ever do is wear browns gear. I don't think that was a this is this is just a cool shirt that I saw today that I'm going to wear. Like no, There was there was something attached to this. It's just I don't think we'll ever really find out, but it's also not anything to get mad about either. Now as we have that conversation, we will have it a little bit later as well. Mike Floreo, who really he's in his peak like this is his this is cruel summer era when he gets to bleep on the browns. I think he's the his most happiest well for you. He's got to love the NFL dead zone that is existing right now where everyone got excited for the NFL to start and now we have two weeks until football gets going because nobody lives in a world.

20:11Of speculation speculation more than Mike Floreo. He lives for a breeze and I was not like for you. I know not everyone likes for you. I like for you. But this is this is a super bowl. Let's be honest. Well speaking of a super bowl. This must have been the opening kickoff because on pro football talk live. Mike Floreo talked about whether or not Todd Munkins should have considered the fans in his quarterback decision. You got to make the best decision for the browns and I'm not saying that football decisions should also be made with the broader business interests of the franchise in behind. Yep. Yeah, this is a rare case where I agree with the bigger point and I think the way he made the point was absolutely absolutely killed the greater point. Well, so he tries to make it in all things equal mentality and I think the browns have been pretty honest and up front. At least how they see it. They don't they didn't look at this as a tie goes to the runner situation. Yes. And I also think like this has I don't know why this is hard for anyone let alone my Florida grasp. It really has nothing to do with Shedore's popularity. And it's everything to do with the lack of popularity of Dishon Watson. I know it bothers the living daylights out of me that this has now become it and the fact that you and I have had multiple times had to try to defend the idea. No, our disdain for Dishon Watson is carrying the day here. It is not just a love for Shedore Sanders or a light for Shedore Sanders. It is our pure and utter disdain for the idea that Dishon Watson would play another snap.

22:24A guy that has sunk this franchise for half of a decade. And I do think 99% of the time. I don't think you should base your decision in any part at quarterback. The most important position on the team with the fans. Yeah, I just don't think you should. This is no one percent. No, I never I never think you should in general. I don't even know if I have a 1% that enters the equipment where I think the fans might be right. And I think the Browns are blinded by either 2020 Dishon or the hopes at getting this thing right. I think the Browns are the biased one here. And I think the Browns fans are the ones speaking common sense. And I think that's what drives me crazy about this conversation. Is people are acting like, oh, fans are just being fans. It's like, no, they're using logic. The rest of the NFL is normalized. I'm not saying idea. I know. I know that, but this is the hard part of this is that clearly Todd Monkins telling everyone he thinks Dishon Watson is a better quarterback right now than Shedore Sanders. I disagree with that. You disagree with that. Doesn't matter that we disagree with it. Like if that's what Monkin really believes, then I agree with Monkin going with that decision. I just have a hard time thinking in his heart of hearts.

23:28He really believed to Sean Watson has the capability to win a lot of games with this team. Now we do have quick hits coming up to 40 today. 24:31Sorry, is Mike Florio right that this might have been the one time. A NFL head coach should have listened to the fans about the quarterback decision that. And some relief could be coming for Browns fans suffering from the Dishon Watson deal in five minutes right here on 92 through the fan. That is Jordan Schultz of the Schultz Report and the previous segment. Great stuff with him on the decision to just start to start what's that? To start. Jackson on the board today doesn't know. Yeah, yeah, Jackson's really dying. Yeah. Well, that is a decision. That is that is something usually a crappy one, but that being said, the decision to start. Shoulder Sanders and then I think people think you just do just you just. You know, I think this is your turn. That's not my turn. No, no, no, I've butchered it.

25:34I've spoken maybe a hundred words in the segment and I butchered 97. Yeah, every now and again. Yeah, yeah, it's funny about it. I do wonder if you do it so often. I do wonder if people just tend to think it's like a bit you do. Oh, you mean like if I said like instead of saying like issue, I said it's you. Yeah, one of those things is that your yours was so relatable. Yours would be throwing in all sorts of problematic words. Yeah, words you're not really supposed to say on the air. It's been this way and just kind of throwing them in. I dropped the G on angels. Yeah, we heard that. I clearly we heard that. I gave you blue jays, but the other one. Yeah, that was I, I mean, I didn't say it, but I, you know, we definitely put that one out of the ether. Listen, we're just into a new schedule this week and the last couple weeks. I can only use that for like another week of having a wake up at 530 now every morning. I'm going to use it every chance I get every if I keep saying what I'm saying. You were clean on Ohio's tape. That's true. That's true. That one I really, there was high money that one. We were bad of it. You know why? Because we were aware. Is that why we were aware of the danger? And I did not see the danger there.

26:35But it's sneak up on you. You know, one of the one of the lines that annoys me here is, well, if the Browns liked Shadore so much, why, why, why, why didn't they name him, you know, week one starter? Or if Shadore is so good, why couldn't he be down to show? On top of that, then the perception is that he has an outlaw. Two quarterback competitions and obviously. Two different coaching staffs. Two different coaching staffs. I'll say that like three times in the last 24 hours. And that's how people are generally taking this, which I think is a little just off. He was never going to win this to Fansky one. That one was cooked from Jump Street. And then I don't know. Listen, yes, technically he lost this quarterback competition. I'm not going to try to rewrite history as we're doing it right now. And suggesting that he beat out to Sean Watson. But Monkin, as essentially said, the, the books were cooked. Yeah. It was always going to end this way. So I just have a hard time. And maybe this is where Lyme was right. I have a hard time admitting that idea, that concept, that he genuinely lost this. I just, maybe I'm just being stubborn about it though. Isn't it talking a little bit outside,

27:35both sides of your mouth there though, from, from certain people when they go, well, if Shadour was so good, he would have overcome Deshaun. And he'd be starting week one while also saying, maybe they feel better about Shadour learning the offense. And that he'll be better week four because of it. That's a little bit. Well, as if they're doing Shadour some sort of big solid here. Yes. As if this is all in service of Shadour. And this is the four weeks that he would take is going to be better for him in the long term. Well, one, it belies that Deshaun Watson doesn't have a long leash, which means they don't really have that much conviction in Deshaun. To the idea that the difference between Shadour being ready to start weeks one in three is two weeks of practice when he's not really going to see any of the reps. And he's splitting already splitting scouts out team reps. And then three, if you start Shadour Sanders week three, that competition was much closer than anyone wants to give credit for. I mean, yeah, not only is it much closer, that's the, and it really what that would tell you if they go to Shadour week three,

28:35that would tell you that they just really had to know with certainty that Deshaun Watson could not do it. Yes. And it's fine. They gave, they came to that conclusion quick. And I will be happy if they just come to that conclusion quicker than I think they will. And that's all I'll be settled in on. And the idea that they really just wanted to make sure, because there's that fear in the back of their mind. And in a season that you want to win games and you want to try as best you can. But a season where it seems like they're focused on 2027, I really do feel like they needed to make sure Deshaun did not go to a different team and then end up being good. And that's maybe that's what two weeks is. Which at this point, I wasn't worried about it. Bad reflection in the Browns. If the Browns didn't play Deshaun this, this, this season at all. And next year he went and he, he looked like the Michael Vic version with the Eagles, where Michael Vic with the Eagles didn't look anything like Michael Vic with the Falcons. He was still a, he was still a usable NFL quarterback. He did sign two different 100 million dollar contracts for a reason. Yeah, I mean, I don't think he started one post prison.

29:37I don't think he started more than 12 games in a season with the Eagles. Aren't I right about that? I'm now asking you to fact check me on air, but that's okay. I can fact check you on the air. I mean, I'm fairly certain he did, but that's all right. We can do this. But like Michael, and by the way, the point is Michael Vic was fine 2.0. He wasn't Michael Vic in Atlanta. I thought it was one good year in total, but I have to look out of here. In Philly, let's see, he started 12 games, then 13 games, then 10 games, then seven games. I missed it by one damn game. I should have said 13 games. Okay. No, I'm not mad at you. I'm mad at me because I was like, for some reason, the 12 games stuck in my head. 2.1.6. 4.7.4. 00.9.2. But it's still again, the whole point with Vic was that it got him, it got him a, that year one out of the gate is what he ended up getting that $100 million deal off of. He not only won Come Back Player of the Year, which is something we talked about yesterday, but he went to the Pro Bowl. He was an AP offensive player of the year, number two selection there.

30:38And he put up some, he put up some pretty good numbers, all things considered. Was it the greatest thing you've ever seen? No, but he looked, he looked function only with good. But at this point, if DeShawn goes elsewhere and looks good, you're going to say he never would have done it in Cleveland. Yes, but that will be a reflection of Cleveland. Yes, but also it'll be a reflection of DeShawn. We should never lose set of the fact that DeShawn is not lived up to his end of the bargain. The bulk of the responsibility for that is still DeShawn. If we never got to see him play with a different head coach, though, we would at least I would. I would look at the Browns and I would say, you didn't think any of this blame could have fallen on Stofansky? The lead in five minutes on 9-2-3, the fan. I was a little bit upset with Fana. I was upset with everything, because I'm not, I'm fighting the whole one and none thing, and then the question was written down. And we had social media reactions on X or brought to you by. Shive and Jillers Cleveland's from your jowrestore. And Roberto Shenanigan took a circle and circled it and wrote, I'm not mad at you. I'm just disappointed. And then everybody got in. And I'm going, I'm responding to John Fana said it. I didn't say it. We responded to John. And then I heard Catherine Hickman say, which I mean listeners could take however they want. It's fine. Then Catherine Hickman had her interview or her press conference on Wednesday. I'm not here to talk about sweatshirts right now. And I'm not here to talk about possible trades that may or may not have been offered.

32:45And then she had to go back seven questions later and kind of clarify things. That's not it. It's question the first. And this is why I got to get that thinking out. Because it's a very important thing for this team. It's very important. The whole one and done crap. You got a hope. I know you're mad at Todd or some people are really mad at Todd. You got a hope that this thing goes in the right direction. Because there's something Catherine Hickman said here that is extremely true and very important. Not just not really even for this year, but I'm talking for our future is in our happiness as Browns fans. Being young, that's actually something we're really proud of and excited. We are by age average, this second youngest roster as of right after cut down. And that's something we take pride into because we want to be a team that builds through the draft and then work really hard to develop our players. But we also acknowledge that building a roster involves adding veteran presence as well. Both from a performance standpoint but also mentorship.

33:45So I think it's just as we think about it holistically, we want to be as complete as we can be. It's very easy for us to line up and say one and done. Very, very, very easy. You have to take into account what that means, especially with here when you're a young team. First off, one and done also probably means bad things for Andy Berry. And Drew Berry. And when you hear about that, you're probably probably excited considering some of the things that have happened. I'm not because well, you know what happens when you bring in new general managers. You start to get rid of players because they think they got to put their fix on everything and then we're reinventing wheels. We really don't have to. And I understand that you go, well, just get another head coach. You don't just get another head coach. You get another staff. And I think it's been proven before. Do you think we would be a better team over the last 20 years? I just wrote these names down off the top of my head during her update, during Meredith's update because I was remembering off the top of my head

34:47because I heard that promo too. During your contest, do we all remember in the history of this station, complaining about Joe Woods, Chad O'Shea, Andy Dickerson, Jim O'Neill, four off the top of my head? Do you remember that? Who knows what guys you bring in? Position coaches are important. And especially with young guys, she mentions the word trying to develop these guys because you still go through a maturation process, especially where you know, you took Mason Graham and defensive lineman are supposed to get a little bit better with age until they reached the crescendo. He should get better with age. We're switching out coaches. We're switching out then entire staffs. That's a bad thing. And when you go through three and three years because that's what that would be, that could end up smelling a disaster. So I put even more pressure on probably the college quarterback. There will more than likely talk about it nine, twenty this morning because we're going to have to throw up the graphic on YouTube with the QBs that we're watching here. See, this is why I fight this because it's so easy. Fire the coach, fire the coach, fire the coach. Give me a new coach.

35:47Give me a new guy. It's it puts so much pressure on everything else. It puts so much pressure on the players that might not be ready for it. Like you can't, this is why I just don't like firing people. You got to hire with some confidence. I understand you might not be for here for every six-year-old man. And he's not holding a lot of great cards right now. There's some some decent hands in there, but there's not a whole lot. But damn it, man, I can't stand the one and done stuff because we have to understand the ramifications if they are or the possibilities they can always get it right. How often does that happen? We have to understand the possible ramifications if they get it wrong after a one and done Anthony. Well, sure. And I don't know, could this be an air and Glenn situation where the team is bad and they bring Todd Munkin back no matter what, which is what the Jets did. And a lot of people, too, a lot of people, you know, their consternation. They could not believe that air and Glenn was brought back. They're like, why are we wasting another season? But that was this is going into another year with air and Glenn. And I understand it doesn't look very good.

36:48But you know what? At the end of this year, the Jets will more than likely fire air and Glenn. You'll start off with something new. I've already made my coaching change. And now I'm going to put my young guys behind the eight ball, where I've now, if I'm Carson Swessinger, I got three different guys calling my defense in three different years. And by the way, I'm not attacking you on this. I don't think we should really look at the Jets as an example whatsoever. Good, bad. I don't want to talk about the Jets at all. But well, the Ken Carmen that's talking today and the things you're bringing up, all of which are completely valid. Like you just said, three defensive coordinators in three years, whatever. We know then, you know, if there would be a new coach next year, we're talking about, you know, potentially another new offensive line coach. And wait, wait a second. I thought we were trying to build something here. That is all 100% dead on valid. But what will Ken Carmen be saying in January if they're like a two win football team? And now you've seen for firing. And now you've seen, sure, you haven't called for a firing. But will any of this, will any of it be something that boosts your confidence about having

37:54that staff, if it's in disarray this year, take over a rookie quarterback? That's what's even more be so worried about them contaminating that's what's rookie quarterback. Well, that's what's even worse is that, well, the coaching staff, yes, that is a scary scenario. That means you've made a bad hire. That's a knock on Andrew Berry. But if the quarterback plays that bad, you could always say, well, that's the handy was deli. Signed up for the job. Can I go into another year with it? Like, I'm not going to sit there and just defend him no matter what. Just because he's a fun guy to be around and talk to. It's not that. I just think that we have to grasp the magnitude of firing the coach and then hiring another one because it ain't just press conferences, man. It's not just that it's a whole staff and there's a whole group of young players that they're bragging about their youth, which means they're probably not going to win a lot of games. You got to have the right people to develop them. I know, but if Ken Carmer was doing radio in New England, you know, a few years ago, and it was going off the rails and the successor to Bill Belichick was an abject disaster. And they, it was and his staff was too, yes.

38:56And the staff was a total, total joke. And then, oh, hey, look, my variables available. Like you, you, you're talking, you wouldn't have advocated to fire the coach? No. Well, I just don't like the fire coaches. I, I guess I wouldn't have advocated for it, which I understand that sounds dumb. And of course they go to the Super Bowl in year one. I understand that with a second year quarterback. Okay. Okay. I know that. Or rookie crobs. Sorry. No, he was a second year guy. Great male in one four games is first year. Well, he didn't start at the beginning of the year. Yeah. Was it the hell care? No, he didn't start to be sad started that it was Jacobi still. Yes. Huh? I, I just think this is part of the reason why I think it's premature for the conversation. And I love John, love John. I know that sounds like a racer phrase. Like I'm about to hammer him. It's we say these things. It's like you got to understand the magnitude of what you're saying, man. Fire in a guy. That's not just the guy.

39:56That's the whole staff. Do we are doing not like Jason Tarver, the linebacker's coach? I think he's pretty damn good. That's why they decided to keep him this time. Like there's other guys that I think are pretty damn good on this staff. That's why they wanted to keep a lot of the defensive staff. Because they kind of know what they're doing. But if I'm looking at it from their perspective, it's not just that staff that I did. I'll take another step further, Anthony. What do we say earlier this week about, you know, you're trying to avoid with the young guys who aren't from here, everything they've been warned about Cleveland. Like you've had it out with Shedore fans. And I think you're probably typing to him right now as I talk to you. Are you? No, no, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to call you out like that. I know you've had it out with the Shedore fans, but they're like, hey, I'm going to, of course, I'm going to blame the Cleveland Browns because if you're just a Shedore fan from Frisco, Texas, you only know the Browns for one thing and ain't good. So you're going to assume that the Browns are messing with your guy. And if your Carson Swesterners, cousins, aunts and uncles out in California, typical Browns messing with our son, messing with our, with my cousin messing with my nephew, your typical

41:00Browns messing with Austin Barber's family messing with our net. Like it starts to seepin. And that's not what we can have, man. Like there is, you get a pass. Like there's teams that, yeah, they have cracks in the armor and they get passes for a little bit. It's the same New England Patriots you were talking about that we just kind of go, ah, it's Bella check. I'll figure it out. And it's like, no, it's starting to come and come apart from within. And then we just wanted to give a free pass to Gerard Mayo because he played for Bella check. And then you got Mike Vrable who we knew was a good coach. Like I can't stand in the way if there's another Vrable out there. I understand what's happened this off season, but he's still fine football coach. I can't stand in the way of what's happened or I can't stand the way of another Vrable. But damn man, you have to understand the ramifications of this because I cannot abide another Andy Dickerson leading this offensive line. He was a mess. It was total boobery. I didn't do it in the preseason. I had to admit it to you when you called me out on it back then. So I don't like your chat. Oh, Shay, people couldn't stand the guy couldn't get these guys catching.

42:00Couldn't get these guys going right. I'm sure he has some little bit of a defense of himself, but these are the things that I mentioned. It's like, man, got cool with the one and done talk. If we're a two-win football team, that means probably some of the picks that we've had are total misses. That probably means that the coaching staff that we have, I can't make this argument that I'm making right now because in your words, we have the benefit of new information. So I, I, I just think it's a bad thing to bring up now. Yeah, I, but you know, I heard her say that. I know that's exactly what I'm talking about. I'm paper. When you guys talk about firing coaches, because it ain't just an easy thing to do. On paper, you're right. Obviously, we know what the, we've got a checkered past here in town, but you know, you've also seen some surprising situations where you've ever thought Bella check wouldn't go out in his own terms. Who would have thought Mike Tomlin, there would have been a divorce last year. John Harbaugh, there was a divorce. It's a like nothing surprises me. No, and it could be Andy Reed next like the way this league works. It's crazy. Really? Andy Reed. I wouldn't have thought Harbaugh and Tomlin in the same year.

Just with a stunning story, we're going to talk about it at 140 that he's all happy about. That's coming up at 140. We just talked about Todd Munk and he referenced Baltimore a few times in his press conference today that you heard right here on the fan. And we went back last segment and looked at what Todd did in Baltimore and what he had to work with and how he used it. And all we can say is well done. You had Lamar Jackson. You let him run the show. You won a lot of games. You had Derek Henry. It gave him the ball over 300 times in your two seasons with him. Well done. He scored 16 touchdowns each year. You had one really good wide receiver, Zay flowers and you threw him the football.

45:04You had two good tight ends. Mark Andrews, Isaiah Likley, you threw them the football. You had a couple of other running backs. You made sure you got them involved just as Hilda Mankai. And you didn't really have other good wide receivers so you didn't force it to them. With that thought in mind, Todd was also the offensive coordinator of the Browns back in 2019. And in 2019 with the Browns, Freddie Kitchens was the head coach. It didn't last long. It didn't end well. But Todd did some things that might make you, to me, I find it reassuring Nick. And it's this. He took what he had and he used it well, just like he did in Baltimore. But it wasn't the same stuff. And to me, it goes back to an old bum Phillips line. He said it about Don Chula. And it was he could take yours and beat his or he could take his and beat yours.

46:04But bum said it with the Texas accent. It was phenomenal. And it I think Todd Munkin is a kind of guy who takes what he has schemes it up and coaches it properly. I sure hope so because I look back to 2019. And obviously that season was just so crazy. And there was so much drama off the field. And Freddie was a mess and we don't need to read a lot of fun. But the stats will show Odell Beckham Jr. got his. He went over a thousand yard receiving Jarvis Landry got his. I believe he went over a thousand yard receiving as well. Dick Chubb went over a thousand yard receiving and Kreme Hunt had a pretty good year when he was suspended the first couple of games to start that season. So overall from a stats standpoint, Todd found a way to make sure his guys did what they needed to do in Freddie's offense back in 2019. So that is a similar hope that I have here Jeff. Is that like this year can't be a waste.

47:05And with a quarterback situation in flux, I can't waste Casey Kinsepsi owns rookie year. I can't waste Denzel Boston's rookie year. And I can't waste year two of Quinch on Judkins and Harold Fanon Jr. Because their year one was wasted with Kevin Stofansky, you know, last year only finding a way to win five games on that schedule. So I've got all this young talent. I have to make sure these guys are coming along, even with a quarterback situation that's, be honest, it's not ideal when we're talking about potentially seeing all four of these guys by the end of the year, Jeff. So yeah, I definitely do think that Todd's got to make sure that even if the QB situation is rocky, we're finding ways to mirror some of that from 2019 by way of I think none of us would have any qualms if the wins and losses don't look great, but Kinsepsi own puts up a thousand yard season and Boston is close to a thousand yards and Judkins hits a thousand yards on the ground like if your young players are producing and the

48:08wins just aren't coming true, I think all of us could live with that for a year. He had Nick Chubb and as you mentioned, Kareem Hunt for part of the season, Nick had almost 300 carries that year. It was 298. So he rode Nick Chubb like he rode Derek Henry in Baltimore. Hi, that's great. Do you do the same thing with Quinch on Judkins? We'll find out. But the interesting thing, a couple of things that what he did here that might translate. As you mentioned, Kareem Hunt, Kareem played in only eight of the games. He missed half the season, but in eight games, he caught 37 passes. And that's, you know, do the math. That's 74 passes for running back in a season. Again, that's why I think we're going to see a lot of Dylan Samson. And I think Dylan could be a real weapon in this offense that people aren't even thinking. If you're drafted in a fantasy league right now, Jeff, he'd be a great guy to pick up. Do you dare, do you dare roll the dice on a Dylan Samson late understanding that he's going

49:14to catch a lot of footballs out of the backfield? Like, of course, his position is running back. He's the RB two of this thing. And if anything happened to Quinch on God forbid, you know, he'd be Dylan Samson's backfield. But really, I do. I'm with you there just based on what I've seen with my own two eyes on the practice field. I was ready to tell you, yeah, they're going to use Dylan Samson a lot because they haven't practiced. And they've, they've really made him that dump down back. But now that you're coming with, you know, some data to back it up with what Todd did over the last couple of seasons with Justin, just as Hill, God's head words, and then looking all the way back to 2019 with what he did with the split backfield with Chubb and Hunt, it could get you really excited about this one, two punch it. And the run game overall, Jeff, I feel like has been just completely overlooked because we've been all so obsessed with this quarterback thing understandably so. But maybe there's a world where Todd just goes, yo, I'm no silly. I'm no idiot. You know, I've been in the league for all of these years.

50:16I've waited this long to be a head coach. I know I don't have a quarterback, but I'm not going to be, I'm not going to let that. Be what sinks me and I'm just going to run the hell out of the ball. I wouldn't hate it. I feel like our Browns fans wouldn't hate it. This is a town that wants to see their coach run the ball. Let me scare you. He had Baker. And in Baker, you know, Baker was competent without question. Yeah. He had Baker throw 534 times. That's a lot of past. They were losing a lot of. I know. I know. I know. I had to take this back to those. I know. I'm trying to, I'm trying to have a mental block and get those out of here. But Baker threw it a lot. The other thing I think is really interesting about what happened here. And again, I'm just, we're just kind of looking at things trying to figure out exactly what Todd's going to do with this team. Right. Because we're not saying any of this is absolute. You know, we're just using previous data to make some informed guesses on what this year can look like. He had the tight ends in Baltimore. So he threw it to him. Smart. Right. He had the wide receivers here in Jarvis and Odell.

51:19And he threw it to him. As you mentioned, they each had a thousand yard season and Odell caught 74 balls. Jarvis caught 83. The next two leading receivers on that team were Karim Haunted and Nick Chubb. Wow. And the leading tight end guy receiving wise on that team. You ready? I've got a guess for you. Go ahead. If you get it, I'll, I'll just applaud. Is it Ricky Seale's Jones? Demetrius Harris. Wow. And he caught only 15 balls. Okay. So not many. So but Ricky Seale's Jones was one behind a 14. It's this thought to me. Okay. He didn't think he had the best receiving tight ends. So he didn't, didn't force it to him. He had great receiving tight ends in Baltimore. So we used him. And honestly, Nick, I love a coach who coaches what he has. Hey, this guy can play good. Let's scheme for him. He's good. Let's get him the ball. And you have to, you have to use your assets and you coach what you have.

52:22You don't coach a scheme. And it appears that that's what Todd Bunken can do. And so I'm anxious to see, for instance, this Harold Fanon is his, in his mind. Is that guy Mark Andrews? I hope so. Or is he more like Isaiah likely? Either way, am I going to get him a football? I would think yes. I hope so. I hope he views him as Mark Andrews. Obviously not a one to one comparison. And we heard from Todd just a couple of minutes ago saying that Harold still needs to make some strides in the, in his blocking game. And that's something that he's going to be asked to do this year. But as a past catcher, Jeff, I really liked what I saw from Harold Fanon, Jr. Last year. And I think he could really emerge to be one of the top tight ends in the sport. Like, forget about in the AFC North. Like, I think if Harold Fanon puts together a big season with Bunken here this year in 2026, I do think you're going to have a lot of people nationally talking about him just because that tight end spot is one that the fans tend to embrace. I think fantasy football plays a role in that. Obviously the tight end position is a trickier one.

53:24But if Harold puts together back to back really good years, he could be one of the bigger named players at that position in the entire league. Hope so. I hope so. But you know, and just taking a look at what Todd did in Baltimore and then what he did here, the thing that I'm most encouraged by is he's the type of guy. It appears who takes what he has and tries to put those guys in the best position to succeed for his team to be in the best position to succeed without saying, wait a minute. I'm a coach who throws to the tight end. We're throwing to the tight end, even if you don't have guys who might be. In other words, maybe Harold fan it ends up being big time catch, but nobody else. You know, you don't have Isaiah likely as your number two. All right. Well, then don't throw to your number two at tight end players over plays. That's what our guy Lance Ryzen keeps saying on the 92 through the fan YouTube channel with Darryl writer about why he feels so optimistic about Todd Munkin and coach Ryzen keeps saying.

54:28It's because he values players over plays and all of your data there are Jeff that you just presented really does back that all up. There's a heartwarming moment in downtown Cleveland. I'm just telling you, was it like an actual like Cape Canaveral rocket? Yeah, I don't know. It was Cape Canaveral. Yeah. Was it like some kid with the hose hooked up to the rocket and then you jump on the front? No, it was bottle rockets. We were sitting in the backyard and my wife and I were shooting bottle rockets off in each other. Man, she nailed me twice and then you know what? And I was like, what are you doing? What are you doing? That's it. Me, you at dawn Roman candle fight. Let's go. I'll watch. Damn.

56:30No, I was at we were I was at Melbourne Beach and we were watching the rocket that went off on Sunday. Man, was that cool? I mean, it was just it was so cool. It's like the Nancy it's called Nancy Grace. It's not Nancy Grace who you know from like cable TV. It's like this amazing astronomer. This woman that has done all kinds of like put her entire life into it. So they they're putting this another camera out into space, which is like a million miles away and it's again, have way better pictures than the hobbles ever had. So anyway, I like the two coolest things is you're like, like all these people are on the beach. It's six in the morning and you're sitting out there and you're like, and then all of a sudden you see that rocket go up and you're like, well, I've watched this on TV a thousand times. All these different things. When you're there, it's different. It's just cool. The other thing that's super cool about it right now and I know I might sound old, but is the rocket boosters come back to the launch pad now?

57:35Like they don't just drop in the ocean. They come back to launch pad. Those things are expensive. I just thought that was like, like to me, that was just as cool as the other things. So I don't figure out balls and strengths, but tapping on your head, you had to figure out how to get the booster back home. That's well said. Jeff, you are like, you are a plethora of knowledge today. Just trying to think lots. You are a mortgage board of men's and insight. I mean, it has really been a pleasure to be back with you today. No, have you ever been to one? Unfortunately no. No, it's cool. Have you ever been to one? Damn. Oh gosh, no. I'm telling you, this is like, and we don't find a guy. We don't live the Andy Baskin life. Oh, okay. Yeah. You guys are ripping me because I'm hanging out with my mother-in-law for her birthday. Happy birthday. And... Shut up. And you guys are like, all over the world. But yet, when I try to give you some, you know, like, information that have to do with the Brown's quarterback situation. Well, I mean, they are going to be in Florida for the first two games of the season. And it's very important. There you go.

58:35I was on a weather expedition for the Browns. That's really nice. You know, to make sure, he was the hammer, me or him. Yeah, you were. Because he had to get us back. You didn't know it's standing job when Keith was here, though, getting us back on track. That happened so. For the early this morning. So, um, anyway, I, Darrell, so now I have my chance to talk about the roster a little bit. So, um, it, I'm trying to, I'm trying to be optimistic, guys. I am. I want to be optimistic. I want to believe this team can win this year. I want to feel like the defense can keep them in games and that somehow, some way one of these quarterbacks is going to figure out a way to get the ball to, to Boston or Concepcion. And, I want to believe that. I want to believe. Judkins is going to have, like 1400 yards on the ground this year. Um, I want to believe that this offensive line is just like some kind of new super glue that's going to be able to hold together when they need them to protect on pass and run.

59:36I don't believe. But, uh, and I also want to believe that Jared versus going to be here for a long time. Jeff, if I had to ask you, what one player on this team are you most excited to see play this year? Who would you say? Huh. Thanks for the advance notice on that. Denzel Boston. You better be able to roll with the punches if you want to sit and see what mean. You know that. No, I was just thinking Denzel Boston. Denzel Boston is what I've wanted this team to go get. Big physical wide receiver who can make plays downfield. He's the guy. Dan. I am a sucker for a big ball winning X wide receiver, but I'm going to go case the concept. The on I want to see the speed because we saw it in the preseason a little bit and it's like, man, that guy just gets going and it is so much fun. And I hope they get him the ball in a variety of ways, whether it's please, please, please run some slants over the middle for him where you can get the ball and stride

1:00:39and just let him go get him. So I even wide receiver screens that kind of stuff find whatever, but like, man, just put the ball on his hands and let him go. He is fun, man. Okay, I'm excited for both the wide receivers to unfortunately, I just don't have great faith in the fact they're going to be able to get them the football. That said, I had an epiphany at the game last Thursday night as I saw a number of fans wearing number eight jerseys and I cannot wait to see Jared verse play. I cannot wait to see what Jared verse does. I mean, if this bus I'll be like, I can't believe I thought that, but I'd like what he can do, what he's going to be able to accomplish on this team, what the defense looks like without Miles Garrett. I like what what normal person in the right mind would say, I, you know what? I think, you know, with Miles Garrett gone, this defense says a chance to even get better. And I'm like, I said that and I'm like, are you an idiot? Like, who would say that? But I just feel like the upside on Jared verse is through the roof.

1:01:44And you know, when I saw a number of fans wearing his jersey at the game the other night, I'm like, I'm not alone. And I also feel like if the defense is healthy, the defense is going to give us more opportunities that year than the offense will. And so I can't wait to see what Jared verse's impact is going to be at full speed during a regular season game. And there were sometimes, and I know there are fans out there that have voiced their opinion on our show and other shows that Miles and I, I really want to see what Miles looks like with Aaron Donald, because first of all, I mean, that could be one of the best defenses ever. But I'm wondering how often guys are going to be taking plays off in that defense. Granted, the team is so good that you may not even notice it with the Rams this year. Aaron's going to get a lot of plays off anyway. Yeah, naturally on the bench, right? Yeah. But like, I don't think Jared verse is going to take a play off. And I also think that it's probably going to help Mason Graham be able to we're going to see a little bit more of him, right? Like I think he'll be more involved in the defense.

1:02:47I don't know. It kind of bothered me to hear rumors at the end of the season that guys were like laying out to make sure that Miles was able to get sacks and to make sure that his record, you know, it was more about the record than it was about win lose. But by the end of the season, did it really matter? It probably was all about the record. It was a reason for fans to actually go to the stadium because it didn't matter if they wanted to lost. You knew they weren't going to the playoffs. So for my money, it's Jared verse. And I'm, I'm looking forward to that. So all right, made my peace. Feel better. Headlines straight ahead, basking folks.
