It's a three o'clock hour. I'm not wavering. I might be wavering on afternoon drop Lindsay Rhodes, Summersports coming up in just about 20 minutes time Niggin JP back with you getting you ready for week one Browns Jaguars and just a few moments here. We got to get into some guardos Thoughts though. I do have to I do to say that we were talking in that last segment About these Shadour Jersey price drop and I got Got a message from a I'm gonna say somebody in the clothe your business all right good somebody that has Connections to fanatics and all I purchase fanatics or her with their connection No, I'm not here to divulge my source there would work is sure and I just got the eyeball emojis Yeah, you see to Sean Watson jerseys are also on sale now. They're not 3999 there's 6999 That's part down from one 180 box by that no No stitch jerseys either are on sale and the sale ends tonight
It is a it is a classic flash sale trying to draw eyeballs to the Browns website or the Browns fanatics website So you know move some merch before the season gets underway, but I don't have a clothe your texting me about that I think there's a lot of interest from the clothe your community based off my one text message. Okay then yeah Do you have a clothe your texting you I don't think you have one either I mean I before you Would you like to see I don't have to no no that's not how this works. That's not how journalism works All fine. I just got a text from a clothe or two about that Like you mean I didn't even know that this works. This is exactly how this works You're showing me the name you didn't Show you the name because all your guy is just somebody that you know that happens to buy a lot of jerseys on website It's not a real clothe yeah, but every time Mary Kate Cabot comes on do you go? All right Mary Kate love your opinion, but now show me your source no Because Mary K isn't trying to make some sort of claim that should or Sanders is gonna be traded because I'm not making a claim I'm saying people are making the claim because the Maddix is tipped off people are making the claim
And I think there's some potential merit there. I don't do a show with Mary K Cabot If I did a show with Mary K I'd ask her all the time about your source on that absolute bullshoy you would not I would if she constantly told me things like Oh, yeah, yeah, I got this clothe the air when you've never mentioned having anyone in the clothing business as a friend ever Yeah, well one look how I trash too. That's the other side. Yeah, I Sounded the clothing business is gonna be friends with you. Well, yeah, they don't pick their friends based off what they wear I think they'd look at your your Non-limited run of Star Wars t-shirts and they'd say they'd probably be like I wish I had that vibe You know what here's the series of the spin on that bad job by the clothe the air friend if you truly are they know they can't change me World why aren't you trying to help them a little bit? I know they can't change. We're just trying to change them just a little I want you to reach out some to some clotheers now Because I've already got a clothe you're willing to say on the record with their name off the record The odd balls and no one of this is on the record and And and you've got nothing your just all you're trying to do is poke holes in what I would say is a pretty watertight
Delio over here. I think common sense should prevail in this one I think fanatics having a limited a 24 hour sale or sale that ends at midnight tonight because they've a lot of Shador Sanders Inventory and I'm trying to get eyeballs on the Browns fanatic site I got up else over here makes it with the end of getting eyeballs you see all the people talking about it now Yeah, yeah, you got clothing people know what's coming people reaching out to you You got us talking about it on the radio Discounted to Sean Watson Jersey's by the way for the people if you want those exist as well Not as his discounted is the Shador once you've got a you get a blind spot over there with Shador and I get it That's your guy you've been a Shador guy from day one the Shahive and whatnot I'm a common sense operator and this one right the idea that fanatics is being tipped off to a trade a release is just not common sense One of the most popular clothing companies the most popular clothing company and and merchandise companies in all the Real first if fanatics beat out shifter and rap sheet and all the heavy hitters for news It'd be a real first. I mean here for the course I just think those guys know things first and that like common people in common common scenarios
Don't know things in sports. I just think it's funny that you think that fanatics would know first in this instance One of the biggest companies in America you said you said common people fanatics isn't common people fanatics is a major Corporate meaning like Michael Rubin isn't is in collecting sources and saying hey Can I copy and paste this email like insider's do you think Rubin is I think he knows a lot more what's going on in sports Then he has used his influence in the slightest bit when it comes to benefiting him in Jersey sales on You don't know that the week of the unit. Well, you know the distance then give me another instance. No, no, the Burnt defense on you you said no, it's not my burn of proof is it doesn't exist That means the burn of proof is on you to show no it's not no no you know you're saying that the idea burn of proof show you Have to showcase no there's an example that is show me I Want to show me that it's never happened before that's why I can't give you an example Yeah, I can never happen before and then all of a sudden it's a real thing right oh Comments never in America because I don't have any proof of it bang All right now burn the proofs on you there we have history evidence of comments
I haven't seen it they exist they're not trying to drive me to it They're on planet earth and I think my point is again I just I can just make up anything the earth is is flat at burn the proofs on you there big cheese On the earth being flat or not This is if anyone's you listening and you know like Nick's making a lot of sense with the fanatics thing I think you just lost them there. I think they're like I think my point is this is this is where we're gonna say anything and say The burden of proof is on you when I think you've been a bit of a trying to poke holes through thing and all I've done is bring again I'm bringing a text here. Clothing you're sending me I was already the polygraph because this is where you don't believe this you don't yeah, this is where I forget the It wins nonsense. Yeah, you don't believe this right here. This is where I want the polygraph You don't believe that fanatics has an inside edge to the Shador Sanford's great you do not mind it You do not believe you're very close-minded to this because of your door Your blind spot we should do it. I get the combo It's just for the shaman I would say the same I would say the same exact thing
They're different. Why aren't they existing for the shaman Watson Convo? By the way, they're different It is massively on sale as well. Are they clearance? Why are you using the word? There's probably a lot of inventory They probably have a lot of jerseys. They're trying to sell they think this jersey might be irrelevant by week two So you put a jersey up there for 70 bucks. I get this isn't hard This is a fanatics exist for a reason they've done the research on this they're not to get eyeballs They do it's working. Yeah, they do know they they know a lot they show the research They know who's gonna be here to print jerseys are on sale none of the actual like custom or the stitch jerseys of the 1946 you know like the real nice jerseys all the all the just the screen print ones are the only ones that are on sale They're driving traffic. They're getting people to the Browns website the Browns fanatics website Well, this is just all this is and I'm really only saying there's nothing else to that I'm seeing a lot of the word clearance with with Shador Sanders. That's just very interesting Yeah, it's just a business tactic. Yeah, there's really nothing more to it sure it is If you presented this with With Mason Graham. I would tell you the same exact thing
Yeah, well, not gonna try to Business practice Mason Graham that's silly This is the polygraph. This is why I need this why I'm just I'm simply just trying to be open-minded about it And you're again, I love how much you love Shador and I think that's it's not what this is This is nothing to do with a love of Shador or anything like that. There it's got nothing to do with that This is common sense it should not be a hot take to be like Funatics isn't the first one to find out that a trade happens a lot of smart things a lot of smart people saying a lot of really smart things We're hearing from clothe the ears and again, I'm not I don't have any I'm not reporting anything over here I just think it's interesting I just think it's very interesting that people are connecting the dots over at home and doing it It's a it's a Jersey site trying to sell jerseys the wake of the NFL season starting You don't need to be sure lot homes to figure this one out Getting very defensive about this. I'm getting angry at you is what I'm getting angry at I don't know what if it's getting angry I'm just listening to the marketplace of ideas Speak this into some sort of big no where it's the marketplace of ideas. That's what this is a marketplace of ideas Yeah, it says how how how dumb I think Twitter is for people even giving this energy
For people even thinking that this could be a possibility tell them that I just did Yeah, it's the dumbest thing that you could possibly come up with in the name of Shador is getting traded I mean This week A little different than that is going to be the one that's doing this Shut up people. This is ridiculous. I think you're sounding like somebody who's worried We're just I think you're sound a little scared here. I get it. I don't want to be scared Furious if they cut should all right. I'm scared of having to watch 15 games at the Sean Watson suck it up Hey, well, that's gonna happen to Sean down. I just say that's gonna happen regardless of if Shador is on the roster or not That's in the Sean's hands right there. Mm 216 we service is also on clearance because you know, um companies need to sell Jersey this time of year As marked down because you know companies, you know, what I maybe maybe most of the night that's $70 that's a lot of money $40 is nothing I mean 40 dollars didn't even buy you a tank of gas anymore, right? It's actually right on the number for my for my car. Yeah, yeah right on the number 40 bucks 40 bucks for the four-liter engine
I'm sorry four cylinder engine words hard me name a four-banger a four-banger. She's got a four-banger You see why I have a disdain of four bangers. Oh, you see the problem And uh, and it's about $52 to fill up the gas tank I don't know four bangers. I would set that car on fire You only have four bangers in your family might be the most disappointed. No, no, no It's in vinescence. This is this it is in vinescence. This is the most disappointing. I don't tell my wife what cars she can buy I can just silently judge it and hope the thing catches fire one day Wow, and it's a four-banger so it might yeah, you know Big deal little deal no deal. I'm on the no deal side. I want this known I'm on the no deal side. If you were a little sensible about this on the little deal side I think I could be like all right big deal little deal. There's some there's a little gap there right Big deal no deal. I mean come on. What are we doing here? I think it's a little deal I can tell you think it's at least a little deal. Yeah, and so I think we could be together on a little deal together We exist not together on this one
Hmm no chance man the YouTube chat is uh, ooh pj saying jp has his head in the sand coinlydo's way your boy coinlydo saying 39 99 and free shipping Free shipping as well usually got to spend like 60 bucks or something to get free shipping That's how bad they want to get rid of those Shadore jerseys I gotta read that one a jp's reaction mat as long as Shadore is still in Cleveland. I'm good. Okay. All right I put Jim saying plus a free voucher for a free Owen Marie sector'sy. Yeah That's where you really know you ever spend time on these sites and just go through the sale items Like the fanatics or the Mitchell and Nas or those type of sites and just kind of go through the sales and just see I I must spend I spend way too much time trying to find deals on clothes that I never end up buying yeah I never buy them. I never do and I'm always like searching and hunting around for this like great deal That'll just never exist I think complete time suck, but I do it all the time during the pandemic. I had a good 18 month run Where I had a lot extra time in my hand wasn't caught in Charlotte traffic most days
And so the kids would be in bed and Vanessa would be asleep on the couch and I just start Tipping them back and all of a sudden I'd be buying Various minor league Mexican night themed Baseball hats and I have like I have like 15 of them Would they have used a good deal? No, not at all. They were like they were like 30 bucks each Oh, yeah, because like sometimes you can go on these sites and you can find like basketball shorts for like eight bucks But it's like do I want to walk around wearing Pelicans basketball shorts nobody does nobody does and so I can have a bunch of random NBA shorts For teams I don't care about but I just do I just choose not to and I keep waiting I'm like all right is a team. I'm gonna if the cab's gonna finally pop up they never pop up 216 474 0092 fanatics his put all of Shedore's jerseys on clearance and And again, a lot of people a lot of really smart people are saying That this could be the end of Shedore in Cleveland. Are you concerned big deal little deal no deal It's a big deal because Lindsey Rhodes summer sports gonna be joining us in five minutes on 92-3 the fan
Digging JP back on afternoon drive The Shedore jersey debate rages on what's going on over there at fanatics? What do they know that we don't know? Clothes ears and the common man all uniting and curiosity But we got a game on Sunday and to talk about the outlook for the 2026 Cleveland Browns I think I think I'm gonna have another supporter here. I've said the Browns are an eight-win team While a bunch a bunch of very smart people do you know winzies? Do you know our answer before we bring around? Oh, I'm flying blind here Okay, then I'm gonna say unequivocally the summer sports side of her will not let her believe this brown thing Jeremy Fowler's on my side of Browns could surprise. I got Oya Foussi. I got Bastoc. I am collecting. I'm a massing a bunch of people who have logged on to my way of thinking And we'll see if Lindsay's right there with us on the Wynes right right we make it right call Kyle right hotline of summer sports Lindsey Rhodes joins us right now Lindsey welcome to the show
Hi, I think I'm having some technical difficulties. I couldn't hear that question. So I'm not gonna answer it Okay, which one about the should be our jersey? I thought this was a yeah, that's a setup eight eight is what he's saying I don't so here's Lindsay. Don't be nice about this walking around as a nice if this is the assumption And as if everyone should have this take of eight wins because don't hurt me don't be nice here. Don't be nice be nice Well, I'm I'm gonna still try to be nice. I don't Here's where here's where I'm hung up here is I just don't know where the confidence in making that prediction is coming from because there's so many Questions about this team like there's so much that I don't know to be honest with you And I think that that honestly makes this team a fascinating team to watch in week one in particular Because I just it's gonna be just like an information like fire hose, right? We're gonna learn so much about what they're gonna do
What they're gonna look like but like I don't even know what the schemes are gonna look like with this new coaching staff I mean across the board. We're looking at new right what does Watson look like we haven't seen that for a while He hasn't looked good in years past will that be different now that they've added some different pieces around him We've got a new coach in place. What's the protection look like up front with a heavily turned over offensive line? I mean in the early going I've got communication related questions for them What does the blitz pickup look like the communication on stunts the run block timing? I don't know what do the wide receivers look like and this is a very different looking room than it was last year Who's the first for three most frequently? I mean jury duty was the primary receiver last year in addition to like Harold Shannon david and jokobo what does the target shares look like now that you've added these rookies Conception is one of my favorite guys to have come out of the draft. How is he used? In this offense is it predominantly him or Denzel Boston? What does Stan and like how does he work into all of this and I haven't even talked about the deep ends
Which also is Schwartz's list and Garrett list and so I just have so many questions that I have no way of framing any kind of prediction That would say they're gonna be better or worse than The markets are suggesting at this moment So you were so respectful on that that when I improve and write I will not have a victory lap on you and the same way you didn't take a victory lap when you said the brown should trade miles Garrett About a year early and people were very mean to you You were so respectful that you never took that I will be taking a victory lap But I won't be taking one on you. Here's my elevator pitch one I one of the easiest strength of schedule both predictive and travel The offensive lines fair But we saw in New England and Chicago rebuild their offensive lines in one-off season as soon as last year I do think they finally have playmakers that might allow you to overcome the lack of talent at quarterback At least if to show on watch since the starter and I honestly think people have forgotten the browns actually have
Plenty of really good defensive football players that aren't named Miles Garrett namely Carson Swellsinger namely Denzel Ward and honestly I think being people are freaking about milk Collins who was on a career year pace last year before getting hurt Yeah, no there's no doubt there's a lot there on the defensive side of the ball in particular you bring up great points I think in terms of making a prediction about it I just want to see how the new defensive coordinator wasn't even a defensive guy last year How is he going to use them if you're going to use them the same way that Schwartz used them. I mean are we going to see more um Like coverage influence defense is opposed to like it stemming from what's happening up front I am a big proponent of Jared birth and when that trade happened I was a big proponent of this thing of good trade for Cleveland in a ton of different ways one in terms of rebuilding Collecting the assets that you get in exchange for this guy who is gonna go at the highest price that you're gonna get
But then also the fact that you got in return is so talented And so will he reach the ceiling that Miles Garrett did probably not but is there a massive drop off Probably not so I think that I am with you in that sense I just don't know how it's all gonna come together We still seeing the league's highest rate of man out of this defense like how do they use them? You know, we've talked a lot here. Oh, well, it's humor where the nerds uh talk About like you know coverage rates and and like going to like light personnel groupings and and seeing like one of the takeaways from last night Was you know, we saw a lot of heavy personnel from the sea hawks and we saw it We saw a lot of light personnel defensively. I think that that's something to look for As we move forward. We've talked about a ton of teams going to like, you know They drafted a lot of tight ends this year and are we going to see teams throwing a lot of you know two and three tightend formations onto the field And then how do you match that as a defense?
Are you in They're trying to get you back to base To threaten the run and to get you in a in a run look and then try and pass on you in that way But you know, we saw last last night the stuff to nickel and so we're seeing a lot of nickel like And and I wouldn't like tonight with the Rams. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a ton of dime from the Rams defense defensive backs on the field To try and stop the path especially with the front that they have there So there's just so many questions that I have about how you manipulate those pieces that admittedly are good in defense Like how do you use them? That's a lot of minutia Which I agree with you that the Cleveland defense will keep scores down Brafftacks. I think that the defense will continue to be good Will it be as good as it was last year? We're keeping you know scores down to the degree because the sacks that Miles Garrett was racking up I don't know that that number is going to be as high this year Um, but I should have I have a lot of questions about the offense and whether or not they're going to take steps forward
to the degree Where they can you know win enough of those games even if they're low scoring But I do agree to you about the wider heavers and frankly fan in was a find in the draft I think that they've done a pretty good job in the draft. I loved that they went wider heaver wider heaver I love the fact that they did that and just took two bites in an apple at a position they needed um They needed to to upgrade this off season and like I said conception is so versatile and one of the stats that I like about him the most I don't have it right in front of me But in college the Texas a name quarterbacks completed Their deep throws 15 yards or more at like a 53% clip Um or they're on target rate was like 53% long story short They were not good at throwing the ball accurately down field and he still produced at at like every facet of the field at every depth inside outside With the ball in his hands creating separation
And so I think he's already shown us that he can produce in spite of quarterback play in some ways And I think that that makes him a really interesting piece to this grounds often I hear a lot of agreement here. They only it's so I think my counterpoint in the offense because it I I really do hear all the what ifs The only counterpoint is that was not a functional offense last year They could not they couldn't run motion because they would immediately trigger some sort of penalty I don't think it's that hard to be functional on offense And I think month of the maximizer, which is what I'm I'm a trust in Todd man Lindsay and I think I think they're going to be able to be functional even if that seems to be the lowest bar to clear I just don't know I think that in this particular case that the quarterback play is such a huge part of the functionality And I think like if you look at the Raiders last year and and maybe You know clear this up for me if I'm if I'm incorrect I think when you look at the Raiders last year the functionality issues stemmed from everywhere
I mean, we you know, there were stories about like the offensive line meeting by themselves Because they felt like they weren't getting what they needed out of the coaching staff That is massively problematic because it all stems from what's happening up front Um and and then you have like you know pass catchers like who are the wide receivers there There's just like there's so much environmental breakdown that then you go okay the quarterback play was terrible But the quarterback play was also a reflection of the environment like all of it kind of it worked in concert where it was all bad And so it was hard to point at one specific thing In Cleveland I think a lot of the functionality did stem from the fact that they just haven't been able to find a quarterback that And it's yeah, I disagree with that Now I looked at it more like how the Raiders were the offensive line was incredibly injured and also just incredibly bad And then as far as receivers are concerned Jerry Judy was the only notable wide receiver on the team and he was dropping passes like you wouldn't believe so like
I mean, it's not to say that the offense was completely a waste Judkins was good And you can only do so much with the offensive line and fan and was good But I think they were much more a product of the environment while also having bad quarterback play obviously But I think they were closer to what you're describing with the Raiders than maybe just saying the quarterback then had everything be off the rails Okay, that's fair I wonder I think I think maybe what I'm getting at here and this isn't an interesting conversation to try and kind of nail down Mm-hmm Is that I just am not convinced based on what I've seen from the quarterback's there in Cleveland that even if the environment was better That their play would be appreciably better And so that is that's a pretty big outstanding question for me So even if the environment is as we have sort of laid out here in a bunch of different ways It looks like they've made really smart changes in the off season to try and make the environment better this year And I just have question marks about the the talent
um Frankly in in throughout the room I I don't know that I don't know that they have their quarterback of the future on staff And I don't know that they have a quarterback that is good enough That they will be able to Like we saw with Sam Darnel and the Seahawks last year right like you just have to be good enough right if the environment is good And you can be good enough and you're not going to be the problem Then that is good enough in in a lot of way in a lot of cases And I don't know that the quarterback is there who can get out of the way and not be the problem All right, give us a quick breakdown of Jacksonville I think they're a very confusing team. I tend to think a little bit higher on them than I think most people do Where do you stand with Jacksonville right now? Yeah, I think that they are an interesting team and the thing that I'm most I mean They're wide receiving their group of path catchers is fascinating because I mean they've got three guys and we see this in fantasy dresses off season where like none of them are going really high Because no one knows who the one is But we do think and then but then as soon as they started coming off the board
It's Parker Washington followed by Jacobi Myers followed by Brian Thomas Jr Like they all go and that's I think a really strong indicator of the fact that we think that the talent is there We just don't know if it's going to be spread around And and in what way like what we saw from Parker Washington in the end of the year last year was that he was Pretty interesting as a weapon, but will he continue to be is he the first read? Who does the offense run through like who do they in a in a perfect situation? Who are they trying to get open and get the ball to I just don't know the answer and then does Travis Hunter rotate in it all Do they literally afford? Do they not even need him this guy that they just drafted so high in the draft two years ago because he could go But what did they not even need him to go both ways and then you know we talked about all this heavy personnel stuff They're like one team that I would go no don't don't do that like I think you're in your best personnel grouping if you're in 11 Because I want those three wide receivers on the field with a pretty high degree of frequency because I think that they're all really good at different things
Um, and so I think that they're really interesting in the sense that they have so many fascinating pieces And I think the Trevor Lawrence is a guy who while he has been a roller coaster And really hard to nail down and say like I think he's good and he's going to continue to be good Like I don't know that I feel comfortable about that But it did seem to start clicking forum at the end of the year last year And I'm curious to see if they can kind of pick up where they left off and continue to ride that momentum And then I think that the defense is you know to a degree a little bit underrated Um, and so I think that I think that they're an interesting team They're not a team that I would necessarily predict is like you know in the super bowl contention necessarily this season But I think they're a really interesting, you know potential playoff team And a team that could be a really tough out on a week to week basis Lindsay you always bring it we might disagree on the browns win total this year But you bring it every single time it come on we appreciate you keep doing great work at Sumer Sports And we're gonna keep bugging to come back
Thank you so much love coming back and so please ask again Lindsay Rhodes there Sumer Sports and the wise heart right we make it right call Kyle right hotline She's very smart me very dumb. I am right about the brown so I take that This has been right every time she's come on above basically everything So she's doing can't have you feel she's doing can't have you feeling good We'll react to it Lindsay had to say and also get into the concerning headline about Jose Ramirez in five minutes on 92 You Well, I've been on demand now. I just am not convinced based on what I've seen from the quarterback Thereings we've learned that even if the environment was better that their play would be appreciable Better and so that is that's a pretty big outstanding question for me It looks like they've made really smart changes in the off season to try and make the environment better this year And I just have question marks about the the challenge Frankly in throughout the room I don't know that they have their quarterback in the future on staff
And I don't know that they have a quarterback that is good enough that they will be able to Like we saw with Sam Darnel and the Seahawks last year right like you just have to be good enough Right if the environment is good and you can be good enough and you're not going to be the problem Then that is good enough in a lot of cases And I don't know that the quarterback is there who can get out of the way and not be the problem Lindsay Rhodes of sumer sports in the previous segment giving us her quarterback down for the Browns We do have Pete Futeck college football news.com coming up in about 40 minutes by the way a little high-o state Texas action Uh, who needs this one more? What does he think about the game? What not? We'll talk a little daring and men said to I watched him this last weekend against Stanford Fantastic, I'm gonna say it nobody nobody else has the gall to say it, but this guy he's good at football I also can understand like what I think the Browns want the offense to be in 2026 and beyond I think Daryl and Mences gonna do a lot of what they want their quarterback to do now
That being said I don't I don't actually disagree on the quarterback room I understand it's the greatest out. I also I don't I don't really want to fight anybody who thinks it's the worst quarterback Room in the NFL and I have a certain amount of despair. It's starting to Sean Watson at least for week one And I so I understand the skepticism, but devil's advocate Why does it feel like this is the only quarterback room? I'm not hearing a little bit of Week one hey, maybe like I'm hearing that about Gino Smith in New York I'm hearing people speak glowingly about Sean hasn't heard that well, I so I don't think it's just that though I think in I think one of the great drugs in in football is new Because new breeds hope So if this was Dashaun Watson starting in Arizona I think people would say well to new scenario. It's a you know a fresh start for Dashaun Hey, you never know right? But because he was here the last four years and because should or was here in
December and we're just making purely statistical evaluations of him and not actually watching what actually happened Which I think was actually better than the the stats say I think we're just easily skipping to 2027 and I just I just think it's interesting to watch 31 of the 32 teams get a little bit of that hope machine at quarterback But not the browns even if I disagree with the browns mentality with the Sean certainly Well, and yeah, I just don't feel like the Sean's earned it But on Lindsey's point I always find this fascinating It's like are you a product of your environment or are you the environment and everything else and then really the way the NFL's Established itself is that You there still has to be a bar you have to clear as a quarterback to even if you have the environment set up to be able to do something with that Like Jalen Hertz I think is a great example of this Jalen Hertz is one of the best offensive lines in the game He's always had great wide receivers He's always had great weapons and then Jalen Hertz takes advantage of it and people are like I don't know that Jalen Hertz is a great quarterback. I don't know that he's a good quarterback But the environment's so good. He's gonna have success Jared golf another idea of this brought party
Another idea of this somebody she mentioned She mentioned San Bernard I think that's like the example to go with right now, right? And it's like so there has to be a little bit of a bar you have to clear and I think where Lindsey's argument starts to strengthen within the argument for why the Browns maybe won't have the best 2026 is Does DeSean Watson if it is DeSean for the majority of the games or at least the early part of it Does he clear that even initial bar that it feels like some of these other quarterbacks we're talking about do? Well, and it's interesting because they're the Browns case right now is that DeSean Watson clears the bar in terms of Operation in terms of running the offense all the stuff that doesn't involve throwing the football or I don't say reading a defense because it does involve that but all the kind of stuff that That honestly we did see quarterbacks struggle with last year And so what's interesting is you have that versus what I do think is raw playmaking ability from Shadour but maybe the You know, whether it's mo uh Whether the penalties that um
Oh my gosh the clock the clock expires thank you good lord That's all right. I also ask Keith who was coming up on the coaches show in the brakes I mean the top mickey's mucking yeah, yeah, that's a great one But I mean the delay a game penalties or like the silly turnovers like I understand that's the The thing that the Browns were trying to leverage with the decision of DeSean Watson But it's like all right, but if you can't throw the ball over the middle of the field if you can't Tell the difference if you're on that That's gonna five yard pass in a ten yard pass. We're talking about just clearing that bar I think that's what that is what that has to be bonix another example I probably should have brought up fantastic offensive line You had so many good weapons when courtland Sutton's your number two you're doing a lot of things right Sean patents a great head coach and it's like well all right But both still despite what people thought about him college. He still has to make enough throws He still has to make enough passes He still has to have that that talent enough to in order to go ahead and make it all work And so the question the Browns have to ask themselves I think this real divide and where some people lie is will DeSean be able to clear that low
Bar in order to make the environment work for him well, but it's that's what I find most interesting about this because I do think with time a quarterback can learn to do those things that we're talking about the functionality things But I don't think you can do anything about if you're just cooked is a a quarterback You don't have confidence wildly inaccurate. It's never gonna work and then you go to Shedore And it's no matter what people think about Shedore He did show enough actual playmaking ability and I think that's why I'm so fascinated about this Is I understand they might think having sure Shedore out there in week one is a liability If if the plays are delayed a bit or and I really do understand that I just I can't get over If the car can't if the if the engine doesn't work in the thing it's not going anywhere At least Shedore has the engine I don't know DeSean has the engine the transmission the headlights I don't know he's got anything. Yeah, but if he did he drive that thing 86 and a 60 update that right now pretty good cars these days
Yeah, sure, we fast with cars maybe picked a different but two on six four seven four double o nine two What's the bar that whoever the brown starting quarterback is the most games this year has to clear
