Brewers Clutch Comeback Against Cubs | Milwaukee Brewers News

The Brewers pulled off a heart-pounding, late-inning comeback against the Cubs, winning 4-2 in a game that had fans on the edge of their seats. After the Cubs built a lead with a fifth-inning homer and held it through seven innings thanks to pitcher Matthew Boyd, things unraveled in the eighth. With runners in scoring position and two outs, Boyd was pulled — a risky move that backfired as Ryan Zeferjahn came in and Jackson Chourio delivered a clutch single to score both runs and give Milwaukee the lead. Christian Yelich added an insurance run with a sacrifice fly, making it 4-2. In the ninth, closer Trevor Megill weathered a scare — including a solo homer from Pete Crow-Armstrong — but locked down his 27th save. The win brings the Brewers within ten games of clinching the NL Central, proving their resilience under pressure.
