Bruce Hornsby's New Album: Following Chills

0:00It's April 3rd, from the studio to the stage, this is Music News Today, powered by AI. I'm Cory with the story. Bruce Hornsby just dropped his new album Indigo Park on April 3rd, kicking off another chapter in his 40-year career that started with Massive Hit, The Way It Is. He wasn't even planning this one, but a killer song idea hit him out of nowhere and changed everything. Earlier this week, Hornsby told Billboard he was burnt out from cranking out five albums in six years since 2019, including stuff from his. Spike Lee scoring days, he wanted a full break from writing and producing, but the chills he got recording the title track made him chase that vibe, leading to nine more. Tracks co-produced with Tony Berg and Will McClellan at Sound City Studios. Fans know him for those early hits, but Hornsby keeps evolving, dodging the nostalgia trap even if it means some nasty fan mail. The album mixes reflective tunes on aging and life with wild experiments pulling from modern classical giants, like Schoenberg and Shostakovich, plus.

1:05Final collabs with the late Robert Hunter and a fun, Bonnie Rate feature on a track born from basketball cheers. Now he's hitting the road with his band, The Noisemakers, starting April 9th in Cincinnati and running through October while cooking up music for a sang, Jeff Daniels' play, that creative fire never quits for him. Diego Parts shows Hornsby still bending popular music into fresh shapes, proving life's too short not to follow those chills wherever they lead.
